They Think It’s All Over – It Is Now

A review of Children in Care in England and Wales has just been published. I decided to give it a wide berth when I saw that the review had been carried out by ‘experts’ from the ‘social care sector’ – I suspected that I knew what would be in that review. Unfortunately there was no escape because when I switched the radio on, the ‘Today’ programme was slap bang in the middle of interviewing the man who led the review, the Director of Children’s Social Services in Leeds. As in Jimmy Savile Central. I was not surprised when I heard that the main problem was austerity in the face of rising demand and that everyone is agreed that the child protection services are in crisis.

My posts ‘Today We Have Naming Of Parts’ and ‘Dulce et Decorum est’ discussed the case of Ceryl Wyn Davies, a pillar of the community in Blaenau Ffestiniog who was given a job as the Head of a primary school by Gwynedd County Council after he served a prison sentence for indecently assaulting children. Ceryl Wyn indecently assaulted his pupils whilst working as a Headteacher and received another prison sentence. After leaving prison he was welcomed back into the fold once more and Gwynedd County Council maintained that they knew nuzzing. Someone has now given me yet more information which suggests that Gwynedd County Council have learned nothing after the unfortunate events involving Mr Davies.

After yet another teacher from Blaenau was arrested for sex offences against children last year and Gwynedd once again used that tired old chestnut that he had ‘slipped through the net’, someone from the area put in a freedom of information request to investigate whether Gwynedd County Council were carrying out DBS checks on their staff as legally required.

They discovered that in Dec 2017, 60 staff in schools run by Gwynedd County Council were employed yet had not received DBS certificates. Gwynedd claimed that 60 risk assessments had taken place and ‘control measures’ had been put in place.

I am fairly sure that it is illegal for staff to work in jobs requiring DBS clearance until the certificates arrive. I have friends in that position and even people volunteering as Brownie and Scout leaders have had to wait until their DBS arrives before they can begin work.

My correspondent has also sent me the following information:

As you probably are fully aware, us Welsh do like our Men’s Choirs and we have a couple here in Blaenau that have done rather well for themselfs over the years
One choir is The Brythoniaid which Ceryl is linked to, the other is ‘Cor Meibion Moelwyn’ which Ceryl still to this day plays a big part in, I suppose you could say that their achievement to date is down to him (not that I want to praise the fker).
Ceryl Davies is known for his Poetic & Musical skills. He has written many songs, has made a few albums and has worked for/with Cor Meibion Moelwyn since their very beginning.
Over the years I have heard of old members of the choir and claims and admittance of sexual abuse on more than one occasion. The latest has just hit the headlines just a few months back. He was a so called ‘pillar of the community’ as they seem to all be discribed who had not long retired from his post of post man here in Blaenau. He is currently serving a eight year stretch after his sister came forward and spoke of her rape ordeal at the hands of her brother “Gwyn Vaughn Jones”. The case was a historical one which he had always known would one day come to light. His sister had always said that whilst their parents where still alive she would continue to hide his abuse, therefore on their death she came forward and reported her brother.
Gwyn Vaughn jones is/was not only a singer but also was up there in the managerial team of Cor Meibion Moelwyn and a good friend of Ceryl Wyn confirmed by his first wife.
I do not know any of the people or the Cors named in the above e mail, but when I lived in north Wales I was told on a number of occasions that the Cors were being used as networks by which people were concealing wrongdoing and also climbing socially, including bagging themselves jobs. I stress that not everyone in Cors did this, some members were there because they enjoyed singing, but some Cors were definitely being misused. I know one Cor leader who was furious when she discovered that some people had joined her Cor only in order to ingratiate themselves to one particular member who held a senior role in education in Gwynedd and was in a position to wield influence over employment selection panels. There was one Cor in Gwynedd in particular which people would fight to join and I was told that the reason was that it was a Cor full of of influential people and being a member did wonders for one’s career prospects.
On one occasion I saw the phenomenon in action. I was friendly with someone who sung in a Cor who became very cross when he realised that he had been befriended by  a young woman who had only done so in order to access the Cor in which he sang. It transpired that her father – a retired officer with the North Wales Police – had told her to join the Cor to get to know a member who held a very senior position in Coleg Menai (which has now merged with Coleg Llandrillo), because her father had been told that a job as a Welsh language class organiser would soon be advertised and that the member of the Cor would be deciding who got the job. The young woman did not have the qualifications or the experience required for the job and lied on her CV, but her strategy worked. She joined the Cor, befriended the big wig from Coleg Menai, got the job and was photographed at the National Eisteddfod a few weeks later with Leighton Andrews, the former AM, who was praising the Welsh language learning initiative which this young woman was by then leading. A couple of weeks before this happened, I was invited to the Cor to go and watch my friend singing. The guest of honour that evening was Dafydd Iwan.
So if anyone else wants a job at Coleg Llandrillo for which they do not have the appropriate qualifications or experience, you need to join the Cor of which Dr Ian Rees is a member, make friends with him and lie on your CV. You’ll land a job for which you’ll be paid £40k pa despite being a fairly new graduate and you can even post selfies online accompanied by a comment that you can’t be bothered to go into work, you feel like a duvet day so you’ll be pulling a sickie. Leighton will still be delighted to meet you at the Eisteddfod and praise your hard work.

Now for the exposing of another group of pompous, vindictive charlatans. In the late 1980s there was a health scare in Gwynedd as a result of claims that there was an inexplicably high rate of gastric cancer in the region. It was suggested that the presence of so much bracken in the county might have been a possible cause – Japan also had a high rate of gastric cancer and that had been attributed to bracken in Japanese diets. I seem to remember that the fickle finger of suspicion was pointed at bracken spores in particular being carcinogenic.

The best brains in Gwynedd began investigating and in the early 1990s there were media reports that provided the explanation for the high rate of gastric cancer. The culprit was buttermilk. It had been found that elderly people who had spent their childhoods in Gwynedd and who had consumed buttermilk as children were those who had an increased risk of cancer, the theory being that the cows in Gwynedd had grazed on land infested with bracken and that the carcinogens in the bracken had passed through into the milk. People who had moved to Gwynedd as adults were reassured that this was not a problem with which they needed to be concerned and the future health of the people of Gwynedd was not considered to be at risk because of the decline in the drinking of buttermilk.

Some time after this ground breaking research received massive publicity on a UK-wide level, it was quietly admitted that the research was ‘flawed’ and that there was in fact no association at all between a childhood drinking buttermilk in Gwynedd and gastric cancer.

I have now discovered just how seriously flawed that research was and who published it. Questions need to be asked regarding how this paper was ever accepted for publication in the first place and why the work received the endorsement of one of the biggest names in 20th century epidemiology – Sir Richard Doll. I’d also like to know why on earth the researchers who conducted the research were ever allowed to continue in research, let alone end up as leading lights in healthcare research in Wales.

The paper concerned is entitled ‘Gastric Cancer In Gwynedd. Possible Links With Bracken.’ The authors are: O.P. Galpin; C.J. Whitaker, Rh. Whitaker; and J.Y. Kassab. Galpin’s and Rh. Whitaker’s affiliation is given as Ysbyty Gwynedd and C.J. Whitaker’s and Kassab’s affiliation is given as the Centre for Applied Statistics, UCNW.

The paper was published in the ‘British Journal of Cancer’, 1990; 61, pp 737-740.

The summary of the paper reads as follows:

101 histologically confirmed cancer patients at Ysbyty Gwynedd were matched by sex, age and social class to two hospital inpatients without cancer; 77 of the gastric cancer cases were also matched, using the same criteria, to a patient with a confirmed cancer of a different site (excluding the oesophagus). A questionnaire was used to determine bracken exposure and source of water in childhood. Residential and occupational histories were obtained and consumption of buttermilk, a potential vector of the bracken carcinogens, was quantified. Comparison of gastric cancer patients with the non-cancer controls indicated that exposure to bracken in childhood had an increased risk (RR = 2.34, P < 0.001) compared to no exposure and that length of residence in Gwynedd was associated with increased risk (RR = 2.46 for the duration of 61 years and over P < 0.01). Consumption of buttermilk in children and adulthood was attended by increased risk (RR = 1.61 and 1.86 respectively, the latter being statistically significant P< 0.05). Neither the residential effect not consumption of buttermilk in adulthood remained significant when considered in a multivariate analysis with bracken exposure.

Can anyone see the glaring inadequacies – indeed has anyone not seen the glaring inadequacies? There was a control group of THREE. Furthermore, not all of the patients in the study had gastric cancer. Excuse me, but this really is case of ‘for fuck’s sake’. This paper is complete hogwash – no doubt the questionnaires were just as nonsensical as the ‘statistical analysis’ was, but even if the questionnaire was perfect, this paper would still be hogwash because of the control group of three and the inclusion of someone who did not have gastric cancer.

The original version of the paper was submitted in Oct 1988, the referees gave advice and it was revised and accepted for publication in Dec 1990. Someone read this bullshit and did not notice the control group of three or the person who did not have gastric cancer. One can only imagine what the original draft of the paper was like.

The patients in this ‘research’ were diagnosed and treated at Ysbyty Gwynedd and Llandudno General Hospital. In the light of the nature of the complete fuckwits who are employed in those institutions, it is highly likely that the diagnoses were wrong anyway. One of the pathologists who has long held a senior role in the labs that were relied upon to carry out the histology upon which this research is based is Dr Avril Wayte. She is a mate of Dr Dafydd Alun Jones’s and is a Trustee of CAIS. Avril is married to Dr Donald Wayte, a pathologist who worked in north Wales for decades and who once gave a media interview accusing the parents of children who died of SIDS of having murdered them, on the basis of no evidence at all. Wayte’s ‘expert opinion’ was relied upon in many murder trials, including that of Howard Hughes, who is currently sitting in prison for the July 1995 murder of seven year old Sophie Hook. Many people believe that Howard Hughes is the victim of a serious miscarriage of justice – there was no forensic evidence at all which linked him to the crime. Before he was convicted of Sophie’s murder, Howard Hughes spent time in Bryn Estyn as well as that other prison of Dafydd’s, Garth Angharad and alleged that he had been abused at Bryn Estyn. He was denied compensation on the grounds that he is a convicted murderer. See post ‘News Round Up – And Murder Most Foul’.

Howard was convicted of Sophie’s murder at the same time as Dafydd and the paedophiles’ friends were trying to frame me for serious crimes. Just after Dafydd ‘retired’, when the North Wales Hospital Denbigh ‘closed’ – the paedophiles and their friends were in overdrive at the time.

The Gwynedd patient data used in Galpin et al’s paper was collected between 1982-87 and was given to the Cardiff Cancer Registry . So their dataset will be a joke.

The research for this joke of a paper was funded by Gwynedd Research Committee. Sir Richard Doll provided ‘support and advice at the commencement of the work’. Did Richard Doll know that a control group of THREE was being used and that one of the patients did not have gastric cancer??? Dr I. Antice Evans provided input re the questionnaires; Dr Gwilym Wynne Griffiths, Professor David Barker and Dr Peter Ellwood provided ‘helpful advice and support’.

Dr I. Antice Evans had published on bracken previously. In 1958 Dr Evans published ‘Studies On Bracken Poisoning In Cattle’ and in 1963 he/she published ‘Effects of Bracken Rhizomes On The Pig’. In 1963 their affiliation was given as the School of Agriculture at UCNW. So this was an elderly agricultural scientist who advised on the questionnaires given to cancer patients. Twenty-five years after he published work on pigs.

Dr Gwilym Wynne Griffith was the Medical Officer of Health for Anglesey and ‘an eminent epidemiologist’ would you believe. He died in 1989, before Galpin et al’s paper was published. Griffith was an old mate of Dafydd’s. Dafydd spent 1959-62 working on an ‘Epidemiological Research Project’ with Gwilym Wynne Griffith ‘on mental disorder and mental health needs in Anglesey’. According to Dafydd, this formed the basis of his future work (see post ‘Feet In Chains’).

Gwilym Wynne Griffith was the brother of Huw Wynne Griffith, a famous Presbytarian Minister and ecumenical leader. Born in 1915 in Liverpool, he was the second son of Rev’d Griffith Wynne Griffith, Minister of a Welsh Chapel in Anfield. He and Gwilym had a sister, Elizabeth Grace (BetiHunter, a social worker who died in 2007; and a brother, Douglas.

Huw Wynne Griffith was educated in Liverpool before the family moved in 1923 to Porthmadog, where he attended the local primary school and Porthmadog County School, then Friars SchoolBangor, when his father became minister of Tabernacl ChurchBangor. Huw Griffith  went to UCNW and then Westminster CollegeCambridge. Between 1941-44 he was Secretary and then President of the Missionary Society of Westminster College. Griffith spent a year at Bala Theological College where he completed his BD. Prof J.E. Daniel, the father of the corrupt judge Huw Daniel, was employed at Bala Theological College and the father of Dafydd Iwan and Alun Ffred Jones was also associated with the institution.

Griffith was ordained in 1945 and served the chapels of BethaniaFerryside and SeionLlansaintCarmarthen (1945-51) and Siloh (SeiloPresbyterian Church of WalesAberystwyth (1951-1983), Ceredigion. He married Mair Benson-Evans (19182003), daughter of Dr and Mrs Benson-EvansPrestatyn in 1945 in Rehoboth ChapelPrestatyn and they had three daughters – Nia in 1947Ann in 1949 and Gwawr in 1956. Nia at least is still alive and kicking – the others probably are as well – and is likely to be mates with Dafydd.

Huw Wynne Griffith was involved in the ecumenical witness from his college days. He served from 1939-41 as the General Secretary of the Student Christian Movement and represented Wales at the Christian Youth Conference in Amsterdam in August 1939. He represented the Presbyterian Church of Wales at the Faith and Order Conference of the World Council of Churches in LundSweden in 1952. In the 1950s he edited Yr Efrydydd and he also became Secretary of the three, later the four, Nonconformist denominations’ discussions on church unity. H. W. Griffith was invited to become Chairman of the Welsh Ecumenical Society in 1954.

In the 1960s Griffith was one of the most prominent leaders of the ecumenical witness within Wales. He served the Committee which prepared the Faith and Order plan of the Welsh Council of Churches (1963-64), and then became the Secretary of the Joint Committee of the Covenanting Churches of Wales (1965-68), responsible for the reports which were produced and published in 1968 and in 1971H.W. Griffith was Vice-President of the Welsh Council of Churches, 1966-68 and President, 1968-72. He was the Secretary of the Church and Society Committee in the early 1970s. Griffith represented the Presbyterian Church of Wales in the World Council of Churches in NairobiKenya in 1975. He was active in ecumenical activities in west Wales and joint founder of Ecwmene Ceredigion, a forum for young people.

Griffith was heavily involved throughout many years with Christian Aid and Shelter. He supported the Anti-Apartheid group in AberystwythAmnesty International and Ockenden Venture. Griffith welcomed children of refugees from Germany to Aberystwyth and he extended the hand of friendship to refugees from the 1956 uprising in Hungary. He and his wife Mair hosted many of the students who came to the colleges in Aberystwyth.

Huw Wynne Griffith wrote articles in the Welsh-language press, in particular Y GoleuadY TraethodyddPorfeyddEcwmeneY Genhinen and Barn. He prepared a commentary for Sunday schools on the Gospel of Mark in 1953, a book of stories for children, Gyda’r Iesu (1961) and his Davies Lecture to the General Assembly of the Connexion, on ‘C.F. Andrews, Friend of Mahatma Gandhi and a Pioneer of Missionary Work’ was published in 1978.

During WWII Griffith was a conscientious objector. He died in 1993 at Bronglais General Hospital Aberystwyth. His funeral was conducted by his Minister, Revd Pryderi Llwyd Jones in Aberystwyth. Tributes were paid to him by Rev Erastus Jones and Principal Elfed ap Nefydd Roberts, two who had been involved with Huw Wynne Griffith in the ecumenical movement. He is buried in Aberystwyth Plasgrug cemetery.

The poet Gwilym Roberts summed up his contribution in an englyn inscribed on Griffith’s gravestone:

Huw fu byw i wella’n byd
Ufudd was fu i Dduw drwy’i fywyd.

[Huw lived to make our world a better place,
An obedient servant to God throughout his life]

Which he might well have been. But he’ll have known about that paedophile ring run by Dafydd and Gwynne with which his brother and sister were colluding.

Huw Wynne Griffith’s father was a preacher from Anglesey who was a graduate of UCNW. At a later date he was also a member of the Court and Council of UCNW.

Huw Wynne’s daughter is Nia Higginbotham. She uses a Wrexham address and is listed as having been a Director of: Fair Trade Wales; Meifod Consulting; Trefnu Cymundeol Cymru/Together Creating Communities.

Professor David Barker was a Top Doc and epidemiologist with an interest in botany. He was Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at Southampton University and Director of the MRC Environmental Epidemiology Unit, 1984-03, where he made ‘observations on the geographical relationship between neonatal and post-neonatal mortality and heart disease’. He won the GlaxoSmithKline Prize in 1994 for this work. In 2011 Barker made a BBC ‘Horizon programme’. Barker was a colleague of Sir Donald Acheson at Southampton University. Acheson was Chief Medical Officer when Thatcher was PM and it was Acheson who assisted Norman Fowler the Health Secretary in concealing the crimes of Dafydd and the paedophiles (see post ‘Professor Prestigious And His Associates’).

I have not been able to find out who Dr Peter Ellwood is or was.

I know three of the authors of this paper. Chris Whitaker for years was the man responsible for teaching statistics to the students in the School of Psychology at Bangor University. Rhiannon Whitaker is his wife, who was one of his students. Er – a control group of THREE Chris?? Of course your  wife wouldn’t have understood that a control group of three was meaningless, because you obviously didn’t and you taught her. Rhiannon Whitaker was for a long time the Director of NWORTH, the Clinical Trials Unit at Bangor University.

I knew J.Y. Kassab as well. Dr Kassab was a grossly incompetent statistics tutor at UCNW. He was responsible for teaching first year stats to the science undergrads and I was in his class. Kassab’s teaching was utterly chaotic and his accent was so heavy that none of us could understand what he was saying. At one point he kept talking about ‘the underlying lows’. We were all asking ‘what’s a low?’. Dr Kassab then lost his rag and yelled ‘a low, a low, you know what is a low’. Then someone clicked and yelled out ‘oh, you mean a LAW’. Dr Kassab shouted back ‘yes, a low’. It was hilarious, there was no way that any of us were going to learn stats in Dr Kassab’s class. In the end, so many students went to their tutors and said that they just could not learn a thing from Kassab that one Dept – Agriculture no less – put on extra tutorials for their students. One of the tutors who held those classes, Dr Tony Chamberlain, commented that he understood that Dr Kassab gave his lectures in ‘some sort of Middle Eastern language’, which was indeed true. The other person from Agriculture who was responsible for giving the supplementary stats tutorials was the awful Prof J.B. Owen (see post ‘Not Seen Since The 80s – Carwyn’). Who couldn’t add up. One student noticed that Owen made a mistake and pointed it out to him. J.B. Owen got nasty and went into denial, the student got angry as well, was very rude to Owen and was thrown out of the class. J.B. Owen continued to make mistakes.

The Zoology students and Plant Biology students also went to their tutors in despair re Kassab and the statistics class and were simply told ‘don’t worry about it’. The fact that there was a stats exam to be passed at the end of the year was ignored. One student began singing ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’, which summed up the attitude of the college authorities – you’re all up shit creek but we are not going to address this problem.

So how did I learn stats? Brown taught me of course. The only other students who learnt anything about stats at UCNW also asked friends and relatives who were competent re stats to teach them.

Twenty years later I was in a hill walking group when I met someone who had been a forestry student at UCNW at the same time that I had done my first degree at UCNW. He said ‘oh gosh, you’ll have been in those statistics lectures then’. No-one ever forgot those lectures. It was a laugh, but the downside was that a great many ‘experts’ carrying out all that healthcare research at Bangor University do not know their arses from their elbows. Do they Chris and Rhiannon?

Not so much an underlying low but an under-lying Lowe. Anyone for Food Dudes? Pass me a Duchy Original.

No-one has ever said a word about the innumerate statistical experts at Bangor University who carry out so much NHS research. Er – perhaps because Kassab’s daughter Susan was a Top Doctor at Ysbyty Gwynedd? Susan Kassab went to Friar’s School in Bangor and then to medical school in London, then returned to Bangor for a while. Susan Kassab knew about Gwynne, Dafydd and the sex trafficking gang. A google search throws up a Dr Sossie Kassab who has a Harley Street practice offering homeopathic treatments for cancer. Sossie Kassab has been outed on a ‘quack watch’ website. However I don’t think that Sossie Kassab is Susan Kassab. Sossie’s CV states that she trained at Barts – I think that Susan Kassab trained at the Middlesex. Gwynne’s old alma mater. If anyone knows differently, please keep do clarify.

This farce of a paper which was mentored by the biggest name in UK epidemiology as well as by another very big name – Doll and Barker – was submitted in 1988. Which was when I was working for the Cancer Research Campaign at Surrey University. Whilst I was there, without my knowledge my data was given to Professor Nicola Curtin of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne University who published it with her name on it as well (see post ‘Reports Of Death Were Greatly Exaggerated’). I had never heard of Curtin until I found the paper with her name on it as well as mine a few weeks ago. After giving my data to Nicola Curtin, Surrey University told me that my funding had run out and I was made redundant. Whilst I was at Surrey, a former psychiatrist colleague of Dr Tony Francis, Dr Peter Mcguire, decided that he would become a cancer researcher and took part in a research fraud which was exposed in 1990 and resulted in the suicide of Prof Tim McElwain (see posts ‘Reports Of Death Were Greatly Exaggerated’ and ‘Apocalypse Now’).

I have been told that Professor Martin Roth, a psychiatrist at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and the former President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (see post ‘The Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Connection?’), had something to do with these extraordinary happenings.

The laughable paper concerning bracken and gastric cancer based on a control sample of three was published in Dec 1990. The month in which Tony and Sadie Francis perjured themselves in an attempt to have me imprisoned. It was that which led to me being forced out of my job at St George’s Hospital Medical School the following month. In Nov 1990 Margaret Thatcher resigned as leader of the Tory Party following a challenge from Michael Heseltine. Thatcher’s failed leadership campaign was organised by her friend and PPS Sir Peter Morrison, a member of Dafydd’s paedophile gang.

I would ask Rhiannon and Chris Whitaker what the hell was going on, but they’re probably far too stupid to have grasped the bigger picture – after all they work with samples of three – so perhaps Heseltine will tell us, because he will definitely know. Heseltine is from Swansea, although he tries to be all posh and English.

Lord Heseltine (6969083278).jpg

There is an archive clip of ‘Spitting Image’ in which a crazed Heseltine is in the basement of a Gov’t building feeding documents into an enormous shredder shrieking ‘Goodbye my beauties’. Hard luck Heseltine, no matter what was destroyed by Gov’t, I have 10,000 highly incriminating documents in my possession.

‘Awound The Wagged Wock The Wagged Wascal Wan.’ But now you’ve been caught Heseltine you big ranker.

As for O.P. Galpin, I do not know him or her. O.P. Galpin had a letter published in ‘The Lancet’ in 1998 regarding the solution to inhumane and genocidal regimes. They believed that the moral instruction of young people was the only answer. No doubt Dafydd was the man to do this.

Paedophiles’ friends: not only did I never produce the sort of horse shit that you published – complete with its elementary errors – but my work was sufficiently good that you STOLE IT and used it to bag yourselves further funding and senior positions! Now, shut your mouths about Brown and me, stop your constant ‘how very dare yous’, do us all a favour, resign and crawl away. As the Old Gits would say – bugger off, sod off, piss off. You might also like to come clean regarding who co-ordinated all this, which happened whilst I was working in cancer research. Sir Richard Doll did his reputation no good at all by ‘advising’ a gang of paedophiles. But then Doll was a colleague of Donald Acheson’s…

Should anyone wish to have a good laugh at the Whitakers’ lame efforts at cancer research, here’s a link to their nonsense https://www.researchgate.net/publication/20817598_Gastric_cancer_in_Gwynedd_Possible_links_with_bracken

Rhiannon Whitaker is not a popular bunny at Bangor. A PhD student gave her the moniker The Fifth Beatle on account of a rather odd hairstyle that she sported for a long time. No-one really minded her trying to look like Paul McCartney in 1963, it was the constant smug rudeness that pissed everybody off. Rhiannon’s favourite game was to pretend to be so important that she didn’t know who the rest of us were, even those of us with whom she’d had quite extensive dealings. On one occasion I had to tolerate sitting in a multi-disciplinary research meeting with Rhiannon. She insulted everybody else on the grounds that they were historians and sociologists and then bellowed at me ‘Who are you then?’ Rhiannon knew exactly who I was, but if her memory had given her the slip, she won’t bloody well forget me now. Neither will she ever be able to sneer at the arts, humanities and social scientists again – because I can reassure them that Rhiannon does not know even the basics where quantitative research is concerned, so her success at climbing into a senior role in NHS research in Wales must have been down to another factor. Probably this one:

Dr Dafydd Alun Jones

John, Paul, George or Ringo? Is that enough for a sample on which to advise the nation with regard to any particular health risk?

  • Flickr: rhianwhit

In 2012 Rhiannon was a member of a research consortium known as the Welsh Crucible no less. In 2013 the Welsh Crucible won the ‘Times Higher Education Supplement’ award for outstanding ‘leadership’ . Rhiannon’s spiel for Welsh Crucible purposes stated that:

Rhiannon is a Chartered Statistician and Scientist who after graduating with a Mathematics degree from Bangor trained as a secondary school teacher at Cambridge University. After a career break to raise a family, a change of direction found her developing an interest in medical statistics and clinical trials. Her current research interests include trials of interventions to enhance quality of life for people living with dementia, depression and other long term conditions. A developing theme encompasses a range of child health issues building on Bangor University’s research strengths in child disabilities, autism and conduct disorders. Her methodological interests include how to bring rigorous randomised trials into community based settings such as prisons, pharmacies, care homes, schools and recreation centres. She is Associate Scientific Director for NWORTH, Bangor’s clinical trials unit.

2016 Update: Rhiannon has left Bangor University, to set up her own company and is the CEO of Whitaker Research Ltd, which provides research design, statistical and project troubleshooting services for applied health research.

She also believes that a meaningful study can be carried out using a control sample of three. I’m sure that the commissions from the NHS are rolling in.

One of the people responsible for promoting The Fifth Beatle to high office was Prof Ian Russell, latterly of Bangor University, now of Edwina Hart’s empire at Swansea University. Ian Russell caused much grief throughout his many years at Bangor. Bangor realised that they had been sold a pup when a Professor from Bangor met one of Russell’s old colleagues from York and they told him that Ian Russell was ‘an idiot’ and that Bangor were welcome to him. Ian is a healthcare researcher. Of course he is. I haven’t got time to detail the extent of Ian Russell’s fuckwittery here, but because I wasn’t a member of his research team I could have a good laugh at his excesses, rather than have to suffer as a result of them. He used to use the university photocopiers for personal business and one year he used the photocopier to produce his Christmas ’round robins’. Ian used to send photocopying through and then go to sleep in his office, so one would often find his photocopying uncollected. I found the round robins, they were great works of fiction. Ian’s round robin consisted of two pages of lies about his RAE results – his friends can’t have been academics, because the RAE results hadn’t yet been published when Ian explained that his research had been rated ‘excellent’. There were a few photos of Ian dressed up in a kilt and then an update on his hip replacement, which was as excellent as his RAE results.

The PhD student who named Rhiannon The Fifth Beatle had such problems with Ian Russell as his supervisor that he ended up suing Bangor University – as, I was told, had at least one other PhD student of Russell’s. This student told me that Russell was an incredibly selfish man who was a nightmare to deal with. The student maintained that Ian never replied to e mails no matter how urgent the matter and that in response to a formal complaint about this, Russell’s excuse had been ‘I had a cold’. Ian however expected a high level of service from everyone else. He complained bitterly about the inadequacies of the VC when the VC hadn’t replied to an e mail from Ian within 24 hours. Did the VC have a cold? No. His wife was dying of brain cancer, after the paedophiles’ friends at the Walton Centre somehow found that there was no effective treatment for her. Russell’s PhD student was appalled at Russell’s insensitivity. He’d have been really freaked out if he had known that there was a plan by Fergus Lowe and a few others – including I was told, Ian Russell – to frame the VC for a criminal offence.

Ian Russell is a lay preacher.

O. P. Galpin wrote the entry for William Ernest Beer on the Royal College of Physicians ‘Lives of the Fellows’ Online.

William Beer was a consultant dermatologist in Bangor, Wales. He was born in Southern India amongst the Nilgiri Hills. His father was Assistant Director of the local Pasteur Institute and engaged in anti-rabies research. His great-grandfather, George Beer had gone to India from Devon with William Bowden where, with the assistance of their wives, they had succeeded in establishing churches, hospitals and a school.

Bill Beer’s medical studies commenced in Madras and there then followed junior hospital posts in the Vellore Medical School. Here he came under the influence of an American dermatologist, H. Gass, whose enthusiasm for the subject shaped his subsequent choice of career.

After marriage, Bill and his wife, Joan, chose to return to Nilgiri Hills to work in a mission hospital. Then, owing to a change of policy for tea estate hospitals, they decided to come to Britain. Bill was able to specialise in dermatology as a result of support from the Nilgiri mission. He initially enrolled as a full time postgrad at St John’s Hospital and was subsequently appointed senior registrar at Westminster Hospital.

Although Beer did not know North Wales, he applied for the post of consultant dermatologist for the Gwynedd region. Prior to his appointment, the task of building up a dermatology service for the whole of North Wales was in the hands of Dr Ellen Emslie who had introduced modern understanding, techniques and treatment to the area. [Shurely shome mistake – Ed.] Bill Beer was able to build on this foundation and, over the years, established a reputation for the quality of his service and professional skill. [Shurely shome mistake – Ed.]

Beer’s ‘infectious enthusiasm for the practical and academic aspects of dermatology influenced many of his colleagues, not to mention the many undergraduate and postgraduate doctors who assisted him in the skin clinics’.

So that’s why, for decades, doctors have refused to work in north Wales.

Beer’s interest in dermatology resulted in many research activities and publications, eventually leading to him winning the Wycombe Prize in 1993 by the British Association of Dermatology – two years after his retirement from the NHS.

Yes, another prize for a Top Doc in north Wales, in the year that the North Wales Police closed their investigation into child abuse and concluded that there was ‘no evidence of a paedophile ring’.

Bill’s other interests included the Welsh language – he became fluent – music, gardening, astronomy and mountain walking. Both he and his wife were renowned for their hospitality and for the pastoral care that they gave to junior doctors and university students. Bill’s life was ‘profoundly influenced by a deeply held Christian faith’.

Bill was ‘tragically killed in a car accident, shortly after completing a history of the old C&A Hospital’, which, the Lives Of The Fellows Online tells us, ‘will serve as a fitting memorial to his intense commitment to the area and to his colleagues’.

That tragic accident which killed Bill Beer happened in Dec 1999. Two months before the Waterhouse Report was published. Well Dr Beer had written a history of the C&A Hospital where pretty much anything went, including prostitution on the part of the Angels.

Dafydd used to turn up at the C&A to visit patients who had attempted suicide etc.

Galpin’s name also appears in Hansard, 18 July 1990, regarding Alun Michael asking if the Secretary of State for Wales ‘will list the individuals and bodies which have commented on his proposal to reduce the number of community health councils in Wales; and how many were for a reduction and how many against a reduction’. The CHCs in Wales consist entirely of paedophiles’ friends and never raise any serious challenge to the Top Docs – many of whom sit on the CHCs – and their neglect and abuse. Thus the NHS in Wales has fought very hard to hold onto the CHCs, ‘the voice of the patients’ and the ‘NHS watchdog’.

It was Ian Grist who responded to Alun Michael’s question. Grist was a Welsh Office Minister and a very helpful one to Dafydd and the paedophiles (see post ‘The Paedophiles’ Friends Of Cardiff North’). The Secretary of State at the time was David Hunt, who served Dafydd et al so loyally in the late 80s/early 90s at the Welsh Office that Hunt was brought back as acting Secretary of State for Wales for just a few days in the summer of 1995, to lie about the North Wales Hospital having closed down. David Hunt was appointed acting Welsh Secretary 13 days before Bing Spear died. Spear was the corrupt mandarin who was the Chief Inspector of the Home Office Drugs Branch who so ably assisted Dafydd (see post ‘Little Things Hitting Each Other’). Sir Peter Morrison was found dead four days after Spear died. Peter Morrison’s sister Dame Mary was Woman-of-the-Bedchamber to Carlo’s mum. Hunt was up and off again four days before Bing died to twiddle his thumbs for a few days until he took up the position of Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster on 20 July 1995, exactly one week after Morrison was found dead. See post ‘Criminals Are Getting Away With It’. William Hague became Secretary of State for Wales on the day that Hunt scarpered from the Welsh Office.

Lord David Hunt is now the Big Boss at DAC Beachcroft, a firm of international lawyers who represent the GMC.

Ian Grist provided a truly impressive list of paedophiles’ friends who responded to Hunt’s consultation re the CHCs – 184 opposed the plans for a reduction in the number of CHCs, 14 approved. The list is too long to reproduce in full in this post, but here’s the link https://api.parliament.uk/historic-hansard/written-answers/1990/jul/18/community-health-councils

Look out for old favourites such as St David’s Hospital, Soroptomists International, Age Concern, Crossroads, Gwynedd Drugs Council, Quakers, Health Visitors Association, MIND, WCVA, Mencap, Town and County Councils and a number of MPs who were/are paedophiles’ friends. The Windbag’s name is not there, but Islwyn Labour Party is, so he was present in cognito. ‘O.P. Galpin, Llandudno’ is listed.

Now for a bit more info on the charidee ‘Wellbeing of Women’, which was established by Sir George Pinker, the friend of Geoffrey Chamberlain’s who delivered Royal babies (see post ‘Wimmin’s Wellbeing – The Fortnum and Mason Connection’).

‘Wellbeing of Women’ was formerly known as ‘Birthright’ and it was in this incarnation when, in 1986, the Harris Birthright Centre for Reproductive Medicine at the Jessop Hospital for Women, Sheffield was established, ‘offering the biggest stimulus to research into reproductive medicine the UK had seen’. I do not know why paedophiles’ friend Oinker located his Birthright Centre at Sheffield, but the Centre was bank-rolled by Sir – now Lord – Philip Harris. From what I can work out, Harris provided the funding for the Centre in 1984, the year that I first complained about Gwynne the lobotomist.

Philip Harris went to Streatham Grammar School, which suggests that he lived just down the road from where St George’s Hospital Medical School is located, which employed Geoffrey Chamberlain et al who were concealing the wrongdoing of Gwynne, Dafydd and the paedophile gang.

Philip Harris was the Chairman of Carpetrite plc and has over fifty years experience in carpet retailing. Harris left Carpetrite in 2014, sold all of his shares and he is no longer associated with the company.

Harris was also a non-executive Director of Great Universal Stores plc for 18 years, retiring from the GUS Board in July 2004. Lord Harris became a non-executive Director of Matalan in October 2004. Harris was appointed to the board of Arsenal Football Club as a non-executive Director in Nov 2005.

Lord Harris is the co-owner of the Olympic gold medal-winning horse Hello Sanctos ridden by Scott Brash in the team show jumping event at the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Lord Harris and Lord Kirkham bought the horse for an estimated €2 million at the start of 2012. They are also co-owners of the horses Hello Sailor, Hello Unique and Hello Boyo.

Harris has been a donor to the Tory Party since the 1980s and was a big fan of Thatch. He also made donations to Cameron as leader of the Conservative Party. Harris is considered to be one of Cameron’s personal friends and he is  said to have played a role in convincing Cameron to contest the party’s leadership in the summer of 2005. Harris’s ties to Cameron came under scrutiny two years later when it appeared that Andrew Feldman, a political associate of Harris and a fellow donor to Cameron’s leadership campaign, used Harris’s name to claim privileges accorded to active members of the House of Lords.

Harris has contributed extensively to education and as a result, many schools and colleges (such as Harris Manchester College, Oxford), bear his name. Through the Harris Federation, many secondary schools in South London have received Harris donations. In the London Borough of Croydon, Harris helped to found the Harris City Technology College, Harris Academy South Norwood and Harris Academy Merton, Harris Academy Purley, Harris Academy Chafford Hundred, although many local residents are angered that the original name of the South Norwood site, Stanley Technical High School, was dropped in place of the Harris name.

Dafydd’s mate Prof Linford Rees lived at Purley and entertained his celebrity friends there (see post ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’). Purley was also the home of Rashmi Varma, the fertility consultant at St George’s who found herself up in front of the GMC after NHS patients complained that she had forced them to donate eggs to private patients. Varma got off, although I was told by someone at St George’s that she was as guilty as they come. Geoffrey Chamberlain did not face a GMC hearing after he co-authored the paper describing research which had never taken place, although his co-author Malcolm Pearce was struck off. But then Chamberlain was mates with Oinker the Royal gynaecologist.

Chamberlain hated Rashmi Varma and everyone knew that he was waiting to stick the knife in. I wonder why his dastardly plan didn’t work.

In recent years, the forced change to academy status has placed additional schools under the management of the Harris Federation, despite considerable opposition from Boards of Governors and parents.

In 1960, Philip Harris married Pauline Chumley. The couple have a daughter Susan and three sons: Martin (director of Tapi Carpets), Peter and Charles. Pauline was appointed an DBE in 2004 and a Deputy Lieutenant in 2005. Lord Harris has an estimated wealth of £285m.

Harris was knighted in 1985. Just after he gave all that dosh to Oinker for the Birthright Centre. The year that Mary Wynch won her appeal to the Master of the Rolls and appeared in the London broadsheets. The year that I began approaching MPs regarding the problem that was the north Wales mental health services. I had written to the GMC about Gwynne the lobotomist in 1984 and they told me that they could not take any action against him.

Philip Harris was given a peerage in Jan 1996. By which time Ronnie Waterhouse knew that he would be Chairing a Public Inquiry into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal, although William Hague didn’t announce this until Aug 1996. Hague became leader of the Tory Party on 19 June 1997 after receiving the backing of Thatcher. Hague was perceived as the heir to Thatch. By 1996, Gruff Rhys from Llanllechid in Gwynedd had emerged as an international rock star (see post ‘The International Language Of Screaming’). Gruff’s dad Ioan Bowen Rees was the Chief Exec of Gwynedd County Council when business boomed for the paedophile gang within the Council’s children’s homes (see post ‘I Know Nuzzing…’).

By 1986, when the Birthright Centre funded by Harris was established at Sheffield, Mary Wynch had won her appeal to the Master of the Rolls and was suing Dafydd et al. During 1986, Alison Taylor and I continued to raise our concerns regarding the activities of the paedophiles and their friends. On 22 July 1986, Iain Muir, Deputy Headmaster of the Bryn Alyn Community School, was convicted in the Crown Court at Mold of unlawful sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 16, for which he received a sentence of six months imprisonment. The victim was resident at the school for just over three years and was 15 years old when she left. During the middle months of 1986, DCS Gwynne Owen declared Alison Taylor’s complaints to be false or unsubstantiated. In Oct 1986 he sent a report to the CPS severely criticising Alison and in Dec 1986 Gwynedd County Council informally suspended Alison from her job as a social worker. In the late summer of 1986, I was unlawfully detained under the Mental Health Act in Ysbyty Gwynedd by Jackie Brandt and a Dr Perera, after being told by Alun Davies that if I didn’t drop my complaints about the mental health services I would be sectioned. Whilst I was there, Dafydd rolled up and told me to get out of north Wales and if I ever came back he’d have me arrested. In Dec 1986, I went back to north Wales and Dafydd had me unlawfully arrested and illegally detained in the North Wales Hospital.

The Harris Birthright Centre is now located at King’s College Hospital London, has been renamed the Harris Birthright Centre for Foetal Medicine and its Director is Dr Kypros Nicolaides, but I don’t know when it relocated to King’s. When I worked at St George’s I was told that a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King’s was considered a bit excessive by his colleagues because ‘he has sex with his children’. Just to clarify, the man named as doing this was not Kypros Nicolaides, it was another fertility expert who was involved in charidee work.

I mentioned in my post ‘The Village’ that Dr D.G.E. Wood became seriously worried when Brown started publishing in 1984. A lot of people became very anxious all over again when Brown made his first TV appearance in Sept 1987. Brown didn’t have his own TV series or anything, he appeared on ‘Right To Reply’ on Channel 4 with Gus Macdonald. I was supposed to be on there as well, we were invited to appear after we wrote to Gus regarding a particularly offensive appearance that Bernard Manning had made on the BBC. I couldn’t go on tele because Gus’s invitation coincided with my first day at work at the Cancer Research Campaign labs at Nottingham University and I thought that it would look dreadful if I didn’t actually make it into work on my first day. My mates told me that it would have been really cool to have rung up the CRC labs and said ‘I’m sorry, but I’ve got a TV appearance’, but I didn’t dare. If I’d known what a tosser and a fraud Prof Robert Baldwin was (see post ‘Oh Lordy, It’s CR UK’), I’d have prioritised Gus.

I didn’t realise this at the time because I thought that Gus was just the man on ‘Right To Reply’, but Gus Macdonald was actually a very big media figure. He was a former investigative reporter and by the time that he invited us onto his programme he was a powerful media executive. Gus was also big in the Labour Party and back in the 1960s he was involved with Tribune and Michael Foot, after flirting with the International Socialists. Some of the Tribune lot were working for MI5.

Gus Macdonald was one of the first people to be given a peerage by Blair after Labour won the General Election in 1997 and he was later appointed Minister for the Cabinet Office in Blair’s Gov’t – the year after Ronnie Waterhouse published his cover-up, when people started angrily mouthing off about the whitewash. Not that any of them got a Right To Reply. Dim problem Blair, there’s this blog now.

Today We Have Naming Of Parts

My post ‘Include Me Out’ detailed some facts and figures relating to the inmates of Risley Remand Centre from 1968 onward and other related information which I suggest made it so obvious that so many victims of Dafydd and the paedophiles were ending up there via unlawful processes that it was a nonsense for people to have claimed that they ‘didn’t know’ that a major sex trafficking ring was operating in north Wales through the mental health services and the children’s homes. I named some of the politicians, lawyers, Prison Service staff and others who must have known what was happening.

In this post I will provide details of a few on the ground in north Wales who not only knew but played key roles in the supply chain.

My post ‘That’s Entertainment’ described how in the 1980s, victims of Dafydd et al were given summer jobs at Penrhyn Castle, under the supervision of Wing Commander I.H. Panton. Wing Commander Panton was remembered fondly by Dafydd’s targets, but those dispossessed people had not clicked that that the Wing Commander knew what had happened to them but did nothing to help them. The Wing Commander regularly heard first hand accounts of beatings and suicides/murders in Risley Remand Centre, he knew that some of his employees had been abused sexually by those paid to care for them and that some of them in turn were behaving in a highly sexualised way themselves. The Wing Commander had a great deal of knowledge about Dafydd’s activities and the abuses at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh. Wing Commander Panton was so keen to help the victims of Dafydd and the paedophile gang that he employed them in casual low paid jobs every summer season. He joined in the work parties, he chatted to them and he knew exactly who remembered what and who was naming who.

Wing Commander Panton left north Wales years ago. He told his charges at Penrhyn Castle that he was moving to the west country to ‘write children’s books’, although a google search does not reveal that he either moved to the west country or wrote children’s books.

Penrhyn Castle was given to the National Trust in 1951, so it had been in their hands for decades by the time that Wing Commander Panton opened his arms to the victims of Dafydd et al.

I received an e mail from someone the other day telling me that Lucille Hughes was working for the National Trust at Penrhyn Castle. Lucille ‘retired’ from Gwynedd County Council immediately that the Waterhouse Report was published. Even Ronnie Waterhouse had to admit that Lucille, whilst she was Director of Gwynedd Social Services, knew that a paedophile gang was operating in the children’s homes that she was responsible for but she had not acted. My correspondent – like so many others – expressed astonishment that Lucille continues with her charity work at CAIS, with the CAB, with the Soroptomists and that her grubby fingers are also in the National Trust pie (or should that be PIE?) at Penrhyn Castle.

I know of another victim of Dafydd and the paedophiles who volunteered at Plas Newydd. Like those working at Penrhyn Castle – who in the 1980s weren’t volunteers but were employed on Thatcher’s ‘job creation’ schemes so were paid a benefit level wage – she was friendly and chatty and anyone spending any length of time with her could not have failed to notice that she was not being cared for in the way that the ‘services’ should have caring for her, even if they did not believe her stories of frankly abusive experiences (some at least of which I knew to be true).

The President of the National Trust is Prince Charles. One of the many people to whom Alison Taylor wrote in the 1980s regarding her concerns that there was widespread, serious abuse of children in care happening in north Wales was Prince Charles. I am told that ‘his office’ replied, stating that he really couldn’t get involved in this matter.

The Duke of Westminster, Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor – Prince Charles’s friend and the father of the Princess of Wales’s goddaughter and also the father of one of Prince George’s godparents –  was President of the City of Chester Conservative Association whilst Sir Peter Morrison was the constituency MP. Morrison was abusing children in care in north Wales as well as at other locations. Morrison’s conduct was openly gossiped about by constituents and other politicians. Boys from Bryn Estyn were taken to Grosvenor’s estate for ‘work opportunities’ and would refuse to return there but didn’t explain why. Gerald Grosvenor was the lucky man who purchased the former St George’s Hospital building at Hyde Park Corner for £6ooo from the Tory Gov’t – the building was worth millions (see post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’). Staff at George’s Hospital Medical School were concealing the criminality of Dafydd et al in north Wales, as well as a linked paedophile gang in south London, of which their Professor of Paediatrics Oliver Brooke was a member. Staff at St George’s had personal links to Dafydd and Lucille.

As for Plas Newydd, that is the seat of the Marquesses of Anglesey and is also in the hands of the National Trust. The family have strong links to the Tory Party and the Anglesey Conservative Association. The Anglesey Conservative Association were very fond of Anne Widdecombe, begged her to be their Tory candidate and retained links with her although she jumped ship and tried her luck with another constituency. Before Doris Karloff became an MP, she worked as a senior administrator for the University of London. Doris was responsible for driving through the highly unpopular merger of Guy’s and Tommy’s. Despite being given such an onerous responsibility, Doris was allowed substantial time off work – whilst still being paid – and was given the use of a member of London University admin staff to help her campaign for election. London University also covertly supported Doris in her political project with Lady Olga Maitland, ‘Women and Families for Defence’ which the Tory Gov’t mounted in 1983 as a response to the growing support for CND. Details of all this can be read in my post ‘Doris Karloff – Honest About Her Expenses But Not Much Else’.

The University of London not only used their resources to covertly support a Tory Party pressure group, but they were helping Doris achieve her political ambitions it would seem before Thatcher’s election victory in 1979. The VCs of London University who presided over all this were Lords Noel Annan and Randolph Quirk.

Noel Annan had a background in the security services – he had the distinction of joining Churchill in the bunker during WWII – and furthermore had been a member of the Cambridge Apostles when he was at university, along with Guy Burgess and Michael Straight, who were members of the Cambridge spy ring. Annan Chaired the Annan Committee – the Royal Commission on Broadcasting – which numbered a few other paedophiles’ friends as members. For more details on Noel Annan and the Annan Committee, see post ‘Radical Leicester And Some Other Free Radicals’.

Randolph Quirk was a ‘supporter of the Labour Party’ – despite leading an institution which secretly allowed Anne Widdecombe to do Thatcher’s Gov’t a favour in mounting opposition to CND – who sat as a cross-bencher when he received a peerage. Quirk was a linguist who worked with David Crystal. David Crystal is a linguist who spent his career at UCL, but has an honorary Chair at Bangor University. Crystal grew up in Holyhead and Liverpool and now lives in Holyhead once more.

In the 1980s there was a problem in the Dept of Linguistics in UCNW (Bangor University). It went under the name of Professor Andrew Radford. Radford was appointed in 1980 and when I arrived at UCNW in 1981, a lot of people were already complaining bitterly about Radford. He was, essentially, a wally. Radford’s notions of getting down with the kids were rather patronising to students with a brain, but the more gullible students thought that he was great. He had disco lights and pictures of Debbie Harry in his office and joined students on pub crawls and crashed their parties. So far so lame. But Radford was also shagging students on a grand scale. Better than that, after a few years, other staff noticed a strong correlation between the linguistics students who were getting Firsts and the students who had shagged Radford. Neither was the correlation based on speculation – I know one now retired lecturer from Bangor who said that Radford was so ruthlessly exploitative that he boasted of his encounters and supplied details to his colleagues. Radford did eventually depart from UCNW – under a huge cloud – but not until 1989, when he returned to his old home of the University of Essex.

I knew a linguistics student who didn’t shag Radford, but who was very, very distressed by what he was doing. I don’t know whether he had tried it on with her, or whether she just found his activities too unsavoury to cope with, but towards the end of her first year she had a breakdown. She asked for help at the Student Health Centre and was referred to Gwynne the lobotomist. Gwynne told her that she had a personality disorder and that he ‘could do nothing for her’. Within two days she attempted suicide. She ended up in the North Wales Hospital. No, she didn’t get Dafydd – for once he was kept well out of the way because this young woman’s mum was a nurse from Shrewsbury who hit the roof when she found out what had gone on and made a formal complaint about Gwynne.

After the disaster with Gwynne, this student was referred to a nice young doctor who had just arrived in north Wales – Tony Francis. Francis did what he did in so many other cases – he did an excellent impersonation of a caring competent man, apologised to the student and her mum and assured them that Gwynne had been dealt with and that no other student would ever have this experience. Gwynne remained in the Student Health Centre and some eighteen months later I encountered him… As did at least two students who attempted suicide within days of meeting him.

When the student of Radford’s returned to UNCW, she told everyone that she would not return to the Linguistics Dept. Radford wrote to Tony Francis and told him that there was no reason why she should not continue on the linguistics course. The student’s mum told Francis that she was not going near Andrew Radford again. Francis was the hero of the hour – or so it seemed – and told the student and her mother that he had sorted it with the university authorities for the student to transfer to a joint honours in Italian and Latin. Which is what happened.

The young woman then found it very difficult to access services at the Student Health Centre. Dr D.G.E. Wood told a third party that she was ‘wet’ and Francis told a third party that she was ‘weak’. Francis’s assessment of the fragility of this student was interesting in the light of his decision a few weeks later to discharge her from his clinic with no aftercare, in the wake of her telling him and a number of other people that she was feeling suicidal.

I knew this student well and we remained in contact after graduation. She did graduate despite being refused healthcare and she then went to Manchester to do an MA. Her problems continued and she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She made a number of serious suicide attempts and after each one returned to the family home where she was cared for by her mum and her sisters, although she continued to live in Manchester.

I met up with her last in about 2000. She had recently made a suicide attempt so serious that it was very nearly successful. She had been prescribed huge quantities of anti-depressants which are lethal in overdose, after telling her Top Doctor that she felt suicidal. She took an overdose, was in a coma for three days and ended up with kidney damage. Her mum accompanied her to the psychiatrist after she recovered and expressed her concerns that if her daughter was prescribed the same toxic-in-overdose medication again, the next suicide attempt would work. The former UCNW student was prescribed the same medication again.

She was taking that medication when I met up with her. She told me that the mental health services in Manchester were terrible, that she was simply being given repeat prescriptions with appointments at lengthy intervals and that it was nearly impossible to see a Top Doctor anyway. She had recently been to Australia to visit her sister who had emigrated there and had been given a massive quantity of another ‘medication’ to ‘calm her down’ for the flight. She collapsed at an airport in the Far East whilst changing planes and other passengers assisted her. The Top Doctor had prescribed her a massive dose of haloperidol just before the flight, so it was entirely predictable that she would collapse on her way over to Australia.

That was the last time that I saw my former college mate. She committed suicide a few years ago.

I don’t think that she or her mum knew that the lethal bastards who were neglecting her so badly in Manchester were the former colleagues of Tony Francis, whom he had worked with immediately prior to his move to north Wales (see posts ‘A Stalker’s Network’ and ‘Ian Brockington’s Mischief’). They had been ‘trained’ by Dafydd’s old mate Dr Bob Hobson and were facilitating and concealing the crimes of Dafydd et al in north Wales (see post ‘The Mentor’).

So that was another witness to the clinical skills of Gwynne dealt with.

Professor David Crystal’s mate Randolph Quirk was succeeded as VC of London University by Lord Brian Flowers, who concealed as much – if not even more – crap than Annan and Quirk did. Flowers came from Swansea and was the man who presided over wrongdoing and crime at Imperial College before he was let loose on the University of London as a whole (see post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’). There was an elderly academic who died a few years ago who was involved with Bangor University – particularly fundraising – who when he was younger had been a Professor and I think a senior manager at Imperial College. He seemed such a lovely old boy, but he was probably a paedophiles’ friend, the urge to toady to serious criminals just seems to be far too much for a lot of people to resist.

Professor David Crystal has advised on the original pronunciation of a number of Shakespeare productions, including ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Which of course featured a character called Bottom. In his essay ‘Preposterous Pleasures: Queer Theories and A Midsummer Night’s Dream,’ Douglas E. Green explores possible interpretations of alternative sexuality that he finds within the text of the play, in juxtaposition to the proscribed social mores of the culture at the time the play was written. He writes that his essay ‘does not (seek to) rewrite A Midsummer Night’s Dream as a gay play but rather explores some of its ‘homoerotic significations’ … moments of ‘queer’ disruption and eruption in this Shakespearean comedy.’

Get your head around that Dafydd.

‘Titania adoring the Ass-headed Bottom’. Oil on canvas by Henry Fuseli, c. 1790.

David Crystal was influential in a campaign which resulted in the creation of the Ucheldre Centre at Holyhead. I don’t know who is on the governing body of the Ucheldre Centre – although I could have a good guess – but it describes itself as a ‘community arts venue’ (the premier one no less) in north Wales. In reality, the Ucheldre Centre is a magnet for the Mafia of Drips and provides a venue for things such as International Wimmin’s Day celebrations and Service Users Empowerment activities. It has hosted exhibitions of art work by Michael Mansfield’s mate Kyffin Williams and has won a Prince of Wales Award. The Ucheldre Centre was formerly a convent and I suspect that it saw rather more meaningful action when the Sisters occupied the building, because some of them did some quite exciting things, as a result of the convent belonging to a French Order with links to the southern hemisphere. As opposed to links with Jane Hutt or MIND.

To return to the National Trust, who employed so many of those victims of Dafydd and Gwynne who didn’t get as far as UCNW. Whilst Wing Commander Panton was keeping a lid on it all down at Penrhyn Castle, the DG of the NT was Sir Jack Boles.

Sir Jack Boles was DG of the NT, 1975-83. So it will have been Jack who established the arrangement for Dafydd’s victims to arrive en masse at Penrhyn Castle every summer. It will really have been Jack as well – he was a very hands-on (so to speak) DG, he visited the regions regularly and he was also responsible for a big PR offensive for the NT. It was while Sir Jack was DG that the NT acquired a number of very valuable properties, including Erddig, the country house near Wrexham.

Sir Jack’s father had been in the Royal Navy until the early 1940s when for some unspecified reason he ‘was allowed to retire’. Sir Jack’s dad was in the Royal Navy at the same time as Lord Mountbatten, Admiral Sir Alec Bingley and others who knew a lot about the organised abuse of children and other naughtiness in high places (see post ‘The Defence Of The Realm’).

Sir Jack served in the British Army, including in North Borneo and then joined the Colonial Service. He was the Secretary to the last British Governor of Malaysia, Sir William Goode. Sir Jack could not have done the jobs that he did throughout those years without working with the security services.

Sir Jack’s son is the Tory MP for Grantham and Stamford, Nick Boles. Before he became an MP, Nick Boles was a member of the disgrace that was Westminster City Council, which did many unlawful and gerrymandering things when Shirley Porter the Tesco heiress was leader. Shirley escaped justice for a very long time, but eventually she was fined a huge quantity of money. Instead of paying the fine, Shirley went to live in Israel and returned to the UK some years later when it seemed she felt confident that she wasn’t going to end up behind bars. Comments from a reader of this blog left in response to my post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’ suggest that Shirley had information about the Westminster Paedophile Ring, which was how she got away with so much for so long.

In 2002 Nick Boles was the founder of the think tank Policy Exchange and remained its Director until 2007. Policy Exchange has provided a home for a number of paedophiles’ friends with a penchant for right wing politics (see post ‘Disgusting Of Tunbridge Wells And A Few Equally Disgusting Others’).

Nick Boles is gay.

Sir Jack’s second wife was Anne, daughter of the 12th Earl Waldegrave. The 12th Earl – Geoffrey Waldegrave – had strong links to the west country. He became a member of Somerset County Council in 1937 and later worked as a MAFF official with responsibilities in Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. He was President of the Somerset Trust for Nature Conservation, 1964-80. It is likely that Geoffrey Waldegrave had links with some of those in Somerset who were involved with concealing the wrongdoing of Dafydd et al as detailed in my post ‘Include Me Out’. He was a member of the BBC Advisory Council, 1963-66 and he was a Director of Lloyds Bank, 1964-76. Lloyd Tyrell-Kenyon, the paedophiles’ friend from north Wales who had numerous links to Dafydd and who’s son Thomas was sexually abusing boys in care in north Wales with the knowledge of the Social Services, police and magistrates but was never prosecuted and later died of an HIV related condition, was a Director of Lloyd’s Bank. Lloyd Tyrell-Kenyon was also a magistrate, a member of the North Wales Police Authority, President of UCNW, Chairman of Clwyd Health Authority, 1974-78, the most senior Freemason in north Wales and much more besides (see post ‘A Bit More Paleontology’).

Anne’s brother was the Tory politician William Waldegrave – who was, among other things, Secretary of State for Health, 1990-92, under Thatcher and then Major. William was one of the Health Secretaries who colluded with the criminality of Dafydd and the paedophiles.

William and Anne’s sister Susan married Marmaduke Hussey, the man whom Thatcher ensured was installed as Chairman of the BBC, although when he was appointed he didn’t even know where the BBC HQ was located and he was a disaster for those glorious years when he was in post. One of my friends worked at the Commissioning Dept at the BBC whilst Hussey was Chairman and my friend was forced out because he refused to accept a bribe (see post ‘Oh, No! It’s The Pathetic Sharks…’). Susan Hussey is one of Prince William’s godparents.

The Chair of the Betsi Board Dr Peter Higson – who was a clinical psychologist at and then the manager of the North Wales Hospital Denbigh throughout the paedophile years and has spent his entire career concealing the crimes of Dafydd et al – is the brother of Dr Ruth Hussey, who was the Chief Medical Officer of Wales, April 2012 -16. Ruth Hussey’s previous includes being the Director of Public Health for Liverpool, a senior lecturer in public health at Liverpool University and from 2006, the Regional Director of Public Health at NHS North West, when she was seconded to the Public Health England Transition Team at the Dept of Health during the New Labour horrors.

I have no idea whether Ruth Hussey is an in-law of Susan and Marmaduke, but this corrupt incestuous shithouse is so big that it really wouldn’t surprise me if she was. I’m beginning to think that Brown and me are the only people who haven’t been tempted into this luxurious, ever-embracing public convenience which exists solely to protect Dafydd and a paedophile gang.

The Chairman of the NT whilst it made arrangements for the victims of serious crime to be herded into the sheep pen at Penrhyn Castle was Lord Patrick Gibson, who became Chairman of the NT, 1977-86. Gibson had been a council member of the NT since 1963 and continued to ‘take an interest in it’ after his retirement. There was trouble for the NT in 1983 when the MoD wanted to expand its operations on NT land and many NT members objected. An angry meeting resulted at which Gibson gave everyone a bollocking and their objections were subsequently ignored.

Lord Gibson served in the war – you’ve guessed it, he was in SOE and then worked in political intelligence with the Foreign Office. As with so many others who assisted Dafydd and the paedophiles for so many decades, Lord Gibson and Sir Jack Boles did some very impressive things during their time with the forces and risked life and limb to escape from dangerous unpleasant situations. It really is very sad to think that they thought that Dafydd, Lucille and a gang of paedophiles were worth their time and effort protecting. For God’s sake, one of those employed at Penrhyn Castle in the 1980s summers used to have gay sex with people in the clock tower – I can remember his name as well, but he might still be alive and in Bethesda, so I won’t publish it here, I don’t want to hear that he’s been found dead as nearly all witnesses now have.

Should anyone make the point that ‘oh but they were spies, they could have been undercover and gathering info.’ Yes, I’ve considered that. If they were, they have been gathering info on Dafydd et al since the early 1960s. Dafydd is still a free man Chairing CAIS. North Wales is wrecked, the statutory services don’t function and nearly all the witnesses to the north Wales paedophile gang are now dead. The Lords is choc full of those who knew what Dafydd et al were doing but who concealed it. Whatever those spies were doing, it benefited Dafydd and Lucille, not their victims. If they could fight Hitler and sat in the bunker alongside Churchill, why did they have so much trouble dealing with an insane old idiot who’s ham acting was so bad that no-one could have been fooled?

People who like to believe that there was no such thing as a Westminster Paedophile Ring and who harrumph and point to the fact that the ‘fantasies’ of nutters are only appearing online, never in the mainstream media, might like to ponder on who Lord Gibson was. He was married to a member of the family who owned Pearson plc, a newspaper and publishing business. Patrick Gibson was Chairman of the Pearson Group, 1978-83. The Pearson Group included the Westminster Press Group, which owned 46 provincial newspapers, including the ‘Northern Echo’ and the ‘Oxford Mail’. From 1967 Gibson was also Chair of the book publication arm of Pearson, Pearson Longman, which included Penguin. Gibson began working as a journo with the Pearson group in the late 1940s and was soon an Editorial Director. He was on the Board of the ‘Financial Times’ and became its Chairman in 1975. He was also on the Board of ‘The Economist’.

Gibson was Chairman of the Arts Council of GB, 1972-77. He succeeded paedophiles’ friend – and Harold Wilson’s friend and solicitor – Lord Arnold Goodman as Chair of the Arts Council. He preceded paedophiles’ friend and Wilson’s Health Minister Kenneth Robinson as Chair (see post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’).

Did Gibson find out about the Westminster Paedophile Gang and that was how he ended up Chairing the Arts Council and the NT? Or was he given those positions because he was a stooge who could be relied upon not to blow the gaffe when he found out that those organisations were full of people who had concealed the wrongdoing of Dafydd et al?

Many of those who colluded with Dafydd and the gang occupied senior roles in organisations concerned with the arts and heritage. Again and again when I research them, they are involved with opera, with galleries, with theatre and with museums. The lucky few sit at the top of those organisations.

Previous posts, such as ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’ and ‘Include Me Out’, have noted how many people at senior levels in Harold Wilson’s Gov’t covered up the organised abuse of vulnerable people, often under the guise of providing services for the less advantaged. Harold Wilson rivalled Tony Blair in that regard. I have been watching some old documentaries about Wilson’s administrations which speculate on why he resigned suddenly and unexpectedly. There is much discussion of old favourites, such as Marcia Williams aka Lady Falkender throwing hissy fits and allegations that Wilson was working for the KGB. No-one mentioned that his toadies were using the welfare state to run a paedophile ring who murdered witnesses, which was probably as much of a problem as his alleged chumminess with the KGB.

I’ll be blogging about a few more of those close to Harold who helped Dafydd et al very soon, there are some whom I have not yet mentioned.

One of the undergrads in the Dept of Plant Biology at UCNW, 1981-83, was a mature student called Gaye Kennaway. Her husband Ian was Director of the Regions for the National Trust. Gaye became a personal friend of many of the lecturers at UCNW and at the time I just thought that was because she was older than the rest of us, but now I’m sure that there was something more going on. Gaye was very friendly with Prof Greig-Smith, the ecologist who knew Prof Edred Henry Corner, the Cambridge botanist who was Douglas Hurd’s uncle. Hurd was Home Secretary, 1985-89, whilst the Home Office ignored the havoc and criminality in north Wales and at Risley Remand Centre (see post ‘Security, Security’). Gaye ended up with a First and a number of lecturers openly remarked that she only received one because of the help that she had received from her pal Greig-Smith. Then Gaye was offered a PhD studentship with Chris Wood, who was married to the corrupt GP Dr D.G.E. Wood, who was facilitating the trafficking ring (see post ‘Additional Security Measures’ for more about Gaye and Ian Kennaway).

Gaye pushed the boat out to befriend the lecturers from the very beginning of the course, even the lecturers who were notoriously difficult and unfriendly. I was gobsmacked when in the first term I heard Gaye inviting Tony Jones to the opera. Tony Jones snapped that he didn’t have time to go to the opera. Gaye told him that he could stay over at her house and go straight into work the next day. Dr Tony Jones was the last person whom one would invite to the opera. He was a rather butch South African earth scientist who spent his time climbing or working with the Ogwen Mountain Rescue Team and who revelled in referring to ‘niggers’ in the presence of black students. He lived alone and had close relationships with some of the male undergrads which caused comment but never direct accusations. Tony Jones was mates with some of the North Wales Police and for a laugh one day he got them to arrest a student whom he had fallen out with. The student was wrongfully arrested and banged up in the cells in Bangor Police Station overnight and released without charge the next day. Tony Jones would not blend in at Glyndebourne.

So imagine my surprise when as investigations and inquiries into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal began and the paedophiles’ friends launched their huge PR effort to remind everyone that Wales was a musical nation – Praise the Lord – and a literary nation and an arty nation and when Gruff Rhys from Llanllechid, the son of Gwynedd County Council Chief Exec Ioan Bowen Rees, became an international rock star (see post ‘The International Language Of Screaming’), Tony Jones popped up on ‘This Is Your Life’ with Michael Aspel (see post ‘The Bloody State We’re In’). Tony Jones! He’d never done ‘Saturday Night At The London Palladium’ or a Royal Variety Performance. He hadn’t even appeared with Bernard Manning on  ‘The Wheel Tappers and Shunters Social Club’ on tele. Tony Jones was a racist old geologist from Bangor and before that he was at Aberystwyth University. I’d like to know who was responsible for getting him onto prime time TV.

There are more than a few paedophiles’ friends with media links…

One person who would have been finished if the scale of the crime in north Wales had been admitted at that time would have been Lord K.O. Morgan, Principal of Aberystwyth University, the institution which was churning out crooked lawyers. Lord Ken was Mr Big in the Welsh Labour Party. He was married to the late Jane Morgan, a criminologist who grew up in Wrexham and later worked at Oxford. Jane did her PhD at Leicester University when scores of people there were concealing the activities of Frank Beck and Greville Janner. David and Richard Attenborough’s dad was Principal of what became Leicester University. See posts ‘Radical Leicester And Some Other Free Radicals’ and ‘Gwlad y Menig Gwynion’ for details of those involved in the cover-up. But Jane was also mates with Prof Dick Hobbs, who is a good mate of Laurie Taylor. Laurie’s son Matthew was Blair’s adviser – Matthew was and might still be Chief Exec of the RSA. Full details re Lord Ken and Jane can be found in my post ‘A Bit More Paleontology’.

Shortly after I’d watched Gaye do her best to introduce Tony Jones to the world of La Scala, Gaye told me that she was ‘very fond’ of another one of the staff – Ralph Oxley. Ralph was married to Isobel Hargreaves, who worked as a social worker for Gwynedd Social Services. Isobel’s name later appeared on some of Prof Mark Williams’s Mindfulness publications, the enormous research fraud that Williams perpetrated whilst the mental health patients died at the hands of Dafydd and the paedophiles (see post ‘The Biggest Expert Of The Lot’.)

Gaye knew how to choose her friends.

The Chairman of the National Trust, 2008-14, was Sir Simon Jenkins. Simon is best known for being the Editor of ‘The Times’, 1990-92. Before that he worked on ‘The Sunday Times’ – as did Top Doctor’s wife, Lord Snowdon’s mistress and one of the paedophiles’ greatest friends Marjorie Wallace (see post ‘One Dangerous Fucker’). Jenkins has written for many other newspapers as well and currently writes for ‘The Guardian’. Sir Simon was on the Board of British Rail, 1979-90. Which was famously atrocious, even though Jimmy Savile kept reassuring us that ‘this is the age of the train’. Which is a bit odd, because Savile boasted about his Rolls Royce, which it was later revealed he used to tempt teenaged girls into who were then sexually assaulted and his caravan, which was parked in the grounds of Broadmoor and was the site of a number of rapes. Perhaps Savile was just doing his bit for British Rail to drum up business for Harold Wilson’s mate George Thomas, who was known to be sexually molesting boys on the trains between London and south Wales.

Sir Simon has a second home at Aberdyfi in north Wales and he pissed everyone off by writing an article maintaining that people do not have the right to live near their families or where they grew up. Aberdyfi is absolutely lovely and is one of those places in north Wales that is completely beyond the price range of most local people because it has become such a popular destination for people from England who want a second home.

Simon’s other home is – or was – in Piccadilly. There are allegations that Simon has a third home as well.

Simon has campaigned against the building of affordable housing. Simon’s predecessor at the NT Sir Jack Boles hit the roof when he discovered that there was a plan to build near his home in Devon. Simon’s other predecessor at the NT, Lord Patrick Gibson, used his estate in Sussex as his main home but also had a villa north of Venice.

Sir Simon knew Sir Robin Day, who was one of Ronald Waterhouse’s closest friends.

Sir Simon’s first wife was the American actress Gayle Hunnicutt. Films in which Gayle starred included: ‘The Wild Angels’ (1966); ‘The Legend Of Hell House’ (1973); ‘The Sell Out’ (1976); ‘Target’ (1985). Gayle’s appeared on TV in: ‘Thriller – K Is For Killing’ (1974); ‘Dylan’ (1978); ‘Strong Medicine’ (1986). Gayle also appeared in ‘Dallas’ (1989-91), which starred some of Joan Collins’s mates. Joan Collins was friends with Christopher Cazenove and his wife Angharad Rees. Angharad’s dad was the Welsh Top Doctor Prof Linford Rees, who spent many decades concealing the wrongdoing of Dafydd and his associates and who according to legend died peacefully in his chair after a paned and a Welsh cake. Linford also enjoyed showing people photos of his female patients whilst they were in the bath, but that was always taken as a sign that he was a high calibre wag (see post ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’).

Sir Simon and his mates were at the top of the food chain. Let me introduce a few more of Dafydd’s henchmen.

It was the Ty’r Felin children’s home in Bangor where children were severely abused and then trafficked for sex, including to Dolphin Square (see post ‘Are You Local?’). The manager of Ty’r Felin was Nefyn Dodd – he was assisted in the abuse of the kids by his wife June Dodd and his Deputy, Mari Roberts. I have detailed Dodd’s activities in previous posts. Dodd used to boast that he was a friend of Dafydd – Dodd presumably thought that an association with Dafydd was worth boasting about. The Waterhouse Inquiry was told by ex-residents of the brutality and repeated assaults on children by Nefyn and June Dodd, as well as by Mari Roberts. Ronnie dismissed the allegations and constantly made excuses for these three thugs.

One of the bottom feeders at Ty’r Felin was Peter Gadd. Gadd was employed by Gwynedd County Council for years on a temporary contract, in much the same way that Martin Jones, in his capacity as CEO of the NW Wales NHS Trust, staffed Ysbyty Gwynedd substantially by using agency or bank nurses. Anyone who dared mention the neglect and abuse of patients found that they ‘didn’t get their hours’ any longer. Martin didn’t even have to worry about bullying them out of their jobs or dismissing them on trumped up charges.

Gadd was a member of the Ogwen Mountain Rescue Team, as were other paedophiles’ friends (see post ‘No-One Is Innocent’) and frequently disappeared from work to go out with the Mountain Rescue Team.

There were many complaints against Gadd of bullying and assault on children and I am told that none of them were properly investigated. I have received an e mail stating that Gadd ‘provoked conflict between children so that he could wade in violently to restore order’. This was a favourite technique of the paedophiles’ friends in the mental health services as well. Patients would also be baited by staff until even the most even-tempered or mild-mannered of them raised their voice or stood up from their chair, at which point they’d be met with ‘restraint’ ie. an Angel landing on top of them needlessly, after which a few more Angels would pitch in. In the event of a complaint from the patient, a counter-allegation of assault on an Angel would be made and the patient would be hauled off down to the police station – even if they were sectioned – to be charged. Male patients were on occasions tasered by the police who were called into the hospital. In the events of patients taking their complaints to Ministers, or other witnesses expressing concern, somehow a piece would appear in the local paper concerning the serious problem of Dangerous Psychiatric Patients and how many hundreds of assaults the Angels had sustained recently at their hands.

I witnessed Gadd-like conduct in the North Wales Hospital and I understood immediately what the game being played was, which some other patients didn’t. After I left Denbigh, on one occasion when I rang Bryn Golau Ward in an attempt to get some answers because none of my letters of complaint had received a response, an Angel answered and I could hear what was very clearly the baiting of a distressed patient in the background. The patient then started screaming in distress – I knew damn well what was going on and I challenged the Angel who had answered the phone. I heard them say something in Welsh – which I did not understand – to the patient and then they gave the phone to the patient who of course screamed at me down the phone. No doubt the paedophiles’ victim had been told that I was a Top Doctor or a police officer or something. The phone was then snatched away from the patient and slammed down on me. Had I been there in person, no doubt a situation would have been engineered in which I would have been thumped.

Bryn Golau Ward, 1987. Dr Peter Higson in a management position in the North Wales Hospital, the Welsh Office ignoring all complaints. That was what was going on at ground level.

In Nov 1987, Peter Gadd gave evidence at the disciplinary investigation held by Gwynedd County Council against the whistleblower Alison Taylor. Alison had been Gadd’s supervisor, but he hadn’t worked for her since 1984. Gadd gave absolutely damning evidence against Taylor, maintaining that it was Alison that was the problem, not Nefyn Dodd.

In 1987, Gwynedd County Council were planning to take over Cartref Bontnewydd, a by then disused children’s home that was previously run by the Methodist Church. Gadd was promised the post of officer-in-charge at Cartref Bontnewydd in return for giving evidence against Alison. Gadd did not know that someone in Gwynedd County Council – I don’t know who – had also promised the post to Mari Roberts. Mari was appointed and an angry Gadd later told people that he’d ‘lied for Dodd’, in order to have Alison sacked.

Mari Roberts never worked with Alison but she also gave evidence against her at the Gwynedd County Council disciplinary panel – in support of Dodd, maintaining that Alison should be dismissed. Alison was dismissed in Nov 1987.

Gadd’s wife Patricia worked as a supply teacher – I presume for Gwynedd Education Authority. I understand that she subsequently was employed as a care officer by Gwynedd, although Patricia doesn’t seem to have any social work qualification.

It has been suggested to me that this was either compensation for Gadd not being given the post at Cartref Bontnewydd, or that Gadd threatened to go public on the fact that he had lied at Alison’s disciplinary hearing.

There were numerous complaints against Mari Roberts as well as against Gadd and the Dodds. There were complaints before the North Wales Police investigation of 1991-93.

By Nov 1987 when Dodd was organising Alison’s dismissal, the CPS were still considering a number of serious complaints against Nefyn Dodd. The CPS did not respond until Jan 1988. By Nov 1987 I had made repeated complaints about the mental health services in north Wales about the most serious matters. Dafydd had told me that if I didn’t drop my complaints he’d have me arrested and detained in Risley Remand Centre and he did try and do this in the summer of 1987, after a junior doctor perjured himself (see post ‘Workers Play Time’). He had also told me that if I did drop my complaints, he would ensure that I would be given a place at Liverpool Medical School. He had contacted my solicitor and told him not to act for me and had tried to find out which patients I might name as witnesses to the wrongdoing. Brown had written to Gwynedd Health Authority stating that he had heard Dafydd trying to threaten and bribe me but received no response. The Welsh Office knew about all of these matters, as did Clwyd and Gwynedd Health Authorities and Gwynedd Social Services. As did the North Wales Police.

The DPP at that time was Sir Thomas Hetherington QC and then Sir Allan Green QC.

As a result of the North Wales Police investigation, 1991-93, over 100 complaints about Nefyn Dodd were referred to the CPS. There was no prosecution of Dodd. By the time that the investigation had finished, I had been prosecuted for ‘staring a social worker’ in Safeways in Bangor (see post ‘Some Big Legal Names Enter The Arena’). The social worker was Jackie Brandt, who had illegally detained me in the psychiatric ward in Ysbyty Gwynedd, where I had the pleasure of Dafydd trying to discuss sex with me and then, after I challenged him, telling me to get out of north Wales and never come back or I’d be arrested (see post ‘Include Me Out’). Statements had been made about me by Tony Francis – without my knowledge – to Hempsons, the MDU solicitors, alleging that I had tried to strangle a Top Doctor, tried to throttle a Top Doctor and had attempted to stab a Top Doctor with ‘a dagger’. Both Hempsons and Andrew Park, the crooked lawyer who worked for the Welsh Office, wrote to Francis and others admitting that there was no evidence for any of these allegations.

The 1991-93 police investigation also resulted in numerous complaints against Mari, but no prosecutions resulted.

The DPP throughout all this was Sir Allan Green QC and then Dame Barbara Mills QC.

At the Waterhouse Inquiry Mari Roberts was however highly critical of Nefyn Dodd and his regime. She didn’t mention her key role in Alison’s dismissal, neither did the Counsel for the Inquiry and neither did Ronnie Waterhouse. Mari Roberts is discussed in the Waterhouse Report because witnesses described Mari in rather damning terms. She was described as deeply unpleasant and indeed violent, as Nefyn Dodd’s ‘henchwoman’. Ronnie was told that Mari had slapped children across the face and around the head, that she had kicked them, dragged them by their hair, forced them to strip and taken away their clothes after they had run away following her previous assaults and that on one occasion she had tried to smother a boy. Waterhouse observed that Mari was a caring woman who was dealing with some very difficult young people. When she was asked to explain the accusation that she had tried to smother a boy, Mari explained to Ronnie that she was ‘just being playful’.

And when they say no they mean yes don’t they Dafydd?

Like so many paedophiles’ friends in north Wales who do not have secure or well-paid employment, Peter and Patricia Gadd certainly live well. The Gadd’s live at Llanllechid, at Cysgod-y-Coed. They live in quite a nice converted barn/farmhouse place, with a fleet of 4 wheel drive vehicles parked outside. Their house is not in the main part of the village, it’s down a lane. As the crow flies, they must live very near to where Ioan Bowen Rees lived in his Plas. Since Ioan died, Mrs Bowen Rees has moved into the square in Rachub, but still in one of the best houses in the village. The Gadd’s and the Bowen Rees’s must have just been across the fields from each other.

The Gadd’s and the Bowen Rees’s lived there when someone made repeated attempts to set fire to my house, which was just down the road from them. That would have been in the early 1990s.

Peter and Pat Gadd are no longer involved in child care, but they have a new source of revenue. They’re doing Air B&B! If you look them up on Air B&B, they don’t mention their previous careers in sex trafficking. There’s a little photo of them cuddled up together looking like a comfy middle-aged couple.

‘Will you be wanting a Welsh cake, bach? I’ve got some in the oven. Ooh, I’ve got some bara brith on as well, that’ll be ready tonight. The beatings and the buggery are extras. We do overnight trips to Dolphin Square as well if you’re interested.’

This is what you get if you look up Peter n Pat on Air B&B:

Mari Roberts is now known as Mari Roberts-Jones. Mari was the creme de la creme in Ty’r Felin, she had a degree from UCNW (like Lucille Hughes). I think that Mari Roberts was probably taught at UCNW by the notorious Glyn Williams aka Glyn Patagonia. Like the former Bangor criminologist Prof Roy King, Glyn Patagonia had left UCNW by the time that I began post-doc work there, but he was still remembered as a vindictive bully. Glyn Patagonia went down in history at Bangor because the university brought a disciplinary case against him for systematically marking up Welsh language students and marking down English language students. He was represented by a very grand lawyer as well as by the AUT and he was cleared. When I first heard about this I thought well he probably wasn’t routinely doing it, it could have been one of those civil wars as a result of the strife which prevailed in the Dept at the time. I was later told by a number of people who are positive about the Welsh language, ‘no, he was guilty as charged, the marks were systematically fiddled’.

Like all good paedophiles’ friends, Glyn Williams was a greedy hypocrite and owned a second home in France.

Duw it’s hard. Pass the bara brith, put on Dafydd Iwan and we’ll have a sing song to keep up our spirits.

A lot of the paedophiles and their colleagues working in the children’s homes in north Wales did certificates in social work at Cartrefle College of Education (formerly Cartrefle  Training College) in Wrexham. Cartrefle became NEWI (North East Wales Institute) in 1975; in 1993 Cartrefle became an associate member of the University of Wales; in 2004 it became a full member of the University of Wales and in 2008 it became Glyndwr University.

In the early 80s Cartrefle College had a hotline to Nefyn Dodd and Lucille. The paedophiles’ friends at Cartrefle reported back to Dodd and Lucille on students, but not through any official channels. It was the usual MO of the paedophiles’ friends, gossip and rumour, targeting potential whistleblowers.

The MP for the constituency in which Ty’r Felin was located at the time was paedophiles’ friend and Welsh Office Minister Wyn – later Lord Wyn – Roberts (see post ‘The Cradle Of Filth’). Dafydd Wigley was told of concerns about events at Ty’r Felin, but as it wasn’t in his constituency, he passed the concerns on to Wyn (see post ‘It Wasn’t On Our Radar’). Ty’r Felin wasn’t in Dafydd Wigley’s constituency but the HQ of Gwynedd County Council was just around the corner from his constituency office. I’m fairly sure that Dafydd Wigley lives – or lived – in Bontnewydd. In the same village as Cartref Bontnewydd, where Mari Roberts playfully suffocated children and dragged them around by their hair. Cartref Newydd was in Dafydd Wigley’s constituency. Ioan Bowen Rees, the Chief Exec of Gwynedd County Council, was an adviser to Dafydd Wigley.

I am told that the standards at Cartrefle College were very, very poor. My post ‘A Vampire At Glyndwr University’ discusses the many paedophiles’ friends who have governed and staffed that very troubled institution. Many of them date back to its time as Cartrefle College. In 2001, whilst the institution was still NEWI, Prof Mike Scott was appointed Principal. It mystified a great many people. Not just because when Mike Scott had done his PhD many moons ago at the University of Wales he had been ordered to rewrite and resubmit and there were people in the region who could remember this happening, but because a great many people maintained that Mike Scott was a completely unsuitable person to have been given that job. Including Brown.

Mike Scott had previously been a PVC at De Montfort University in Leicester and he virtually destroyed the place. He was a key figure in a disastrous senior management team who screwed up so badly that the institution had to be raised from the ashes by the present VC, who seems to have done a very good job. After Scott left De Montfort smouldering on the pavement, everyone at DMU presumed that he’d never work again. Then he turned up at NEWI, presided over events as extraordinary as he presided over at DMU and bugger me, someone then agreed to call his house of dysfunction a University.

In view of the fact that Scott did his PhD at the University of Wales in the days when the paedophiles largely controlled the institution, I cannot help but wonder if Mike Scott played the same old north Wales game – I know what you all did and where the bodies are buried… Gissa job as VC.

Leicester was the location of a paedophile gang which was linked to Dafydd et al…

Mike Scott took up his appointment at DMU in 1989. He had previously worked at Sunderland Poly. There was a paedophile gang located in the Sunderland area with links to Dafydd et al…

Mike Scott stood down from Glyndwr University in 2015. He announced that he would be departing in 2014, after the Home Office withdrew Glyndwr’s right to sponsor international students following allegations of visa fraud. The University’s Chancellor Sir Jon Shortridge praised Mike Scott’s ‘outstanding achievements’ as VC. Sir Jon Shortridge is a former civil servant who joined the hub of corruption that was the Welsh Office in 1984 and rose to the very top (see post ‘The Reality Is, There Is No Problem’).

Since devolution, Higher Education has been the responsibility of the Welsh Gov’t. When Scott was appointed Principal of NEWI in 2001, Rhodri Morgan was FM, as he was in 2008 when Glyndwr was granted university status.

The University of Salford validated degrees from Cartrefle College. Cartrefle College evolved into NEWI, which offered social work training, as does Glyndwr University. The University of Salford knew that children in care were being abused in north Wales because the Waterhouse Report discusses a student on placement from the University of Salford who was so horrified by what he saw in north Wales that he reported it to the University. As a result he was withdrawn from his placement after a matter of days. This student followed all appropriate guidelines after he witnessed child abuse. Waterhouse dismissed his evidence because he’d only been on placement for a few days so he didn’t really know what the care of children in north Wales was like.

The authorities responsible for Cartrefle College were the Welsh Dept at the Ministry of Education and the Dept of Education and Science. It was in the early 1980s when my correspondent told me that they had witnessed appalling standards and when staff at Cartrefle College had a hotline to Lucille and Dodd. The Secretary of State for Education and Science, 1981-86, was Sir Keith Joseph – who’s adviser was Barbara Kahan, who colluded with organised child abuse throughout her career (see post ‘Always On The Side Of The Children’). Barbara Kahan was one of the people to whom Alison Taylor wrote regarding her concerns about child abuse in north Wales. Alison did not receive a reply. Kahan, along with Allan Levy QC, conducted the Inquiry into the Staffordshire Pindown Scandal in the 1980s and published the resultant Report in 1991. They underplayed the seriousness of the abuse and for how long people had ignored it. Brown and I wrote to Keith Joseph, when we were undergrads, about student finance. The old bastard probably had us targeted then. The Secretary of State for the DES, 1979-81, was Mark Carlisle, who in 1973 had reassured the Commons that he had no concerns about the stream of deaths and the overcrowding at Risley Remand Centre (see post ‘Include Me Out’).

Previous Secretaries of State for the DES who were responsible for Cartrefle as qualifications were handed out to sex offenders were: Shirley Williams (under PM Jim Callaghan) – Shirl was asked by Dafydd Wigley to hold an Inquiry into the paedophiles’ friend Sir Charles Evans’s management of UCNW but she refused; Fred Mulley, under Wilson and Callaghan – Mulley was a barrister and like paedophiles’ friend Robert Bluglass, an Old Warwickian! (see ref ‘Enter Professor Bluglass CBE). The Warwick School website has a little quip about the Old Warwickians ‘growing old disgracefully’. Presumably they’ve heard about Bluglass facilitating an international sex trafficking ring. Someone ought to seize Compton Verney under the proceeds of crime legislation.

Cheers!

Before Fred, the Secretary of State for the DES was Reg Prentice, under PM Wilson. Prentice was a barrel of laughs, he left the Labour Party in 1977 and in 1979 was elected as a Tory MP. Thatcher made him Minister for the Disabled! Prentice died in 2001, but in the last few years before his death he was President of the Devizes Conservative Association. Sir Peter Morrison’s family seat was near Devizes and the locality had become completely corrupted as a result. No wonder Reg went and parked himself down there during the Waterhouse Inquiry (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part III’). Prior to Reg, the Secretary of State for the DES was a Margaret Hilda Thatcher. She was so busy withdrawing the free school milk from primary school kids that she took her eye off a gang of paedophiles giving out certificates in social work to other members of the gang. Furthermore her critics were so busy yelling ‘Thatcher the Snatcher’ that they forgot to mention that Cartrefle was training sex traffickers.

It’s all a bit Julian Tudor Hart isn’t it (see post ‘The Human Stain’).

That takes us as far back as 1970. Cartrefle was dishing out the qualifications to the paedophiles’ friends even before then. It feels as if it’s been going on since the Pre-Cambrian era…

There was a children’s home in Llanfairpwll on Anglesey, called Y Gwyngyll, which was the focus of complaints such that in 1981 the Chief Executive of Gwynedd County Council, Ioan Bowen Rees, was obliged to launch an investigation. Bowen Rees called in  ‘senior officers’ of Dyfed County Council who of course found nothing seriously amiss. Ioan Bowen Rees had been the County Secretary of Dyfed County Council before he became Chief Exec of Gwynedd. There was a paedophile ring in Dyfed at the time which had links to Dafydd et al.

An Orthodox priest – yes, north Wales has one – called Father Deiniol who lived in Blaenau Ffestiniog used to have boys from Y Gwyngyll staying over at his house for the weekend. I have been told that on one occasion, one boy returned from Father Deiniol’s place highly distressed with, for some inexplicable reason, his toenails painted purple. Alison Taylor stored up yet more trouble for herself when she raised concerns regarding the arrangement between Father Deiniol and the children from Y Gwyngyll. Her concerns were silenced. Nefyn Dodd, David Bailey (the officer-in-charge of Y Gwyngyll) and Gethin Evans all maintained that Father Deiniol was the best thing since sliced bread and that he was providing welcome opportunities for disadvantaged kids to have a weekend break.

I was always intrigued by Father Deiniol’s presence in north Wales. The first time that I saw him I was an undergrad and in a Chinese takeaway in Bangor. I was quite surprised when an Orthodox priest came in and ordered some food. I used to see him around Upper Bangor (the part of Bangor where the University arts depts are and the residential quarter where students and in those days many University staff used to live) in the company of a variety of people. Upper Bangor was host to a selection of characters in those days. There was a left-wing bookshop called the Information Centre which was the centre of CND activity; there was a whole food restaurant called Methusala’s; there was a load of Bahai people;  there was a house covered in activist stickers which housed a crowd of people – some of whom were involved with the domestic violence shelter – including a little boy who used to always sport a ‘boys against sexism’ badge; there was a man who called himself Brother Dai who, when he heard that I lived on Anglesey, told me that Anglesey was ‘the island of free love’. Shortly after encountering Brother Dai, I saw an advert in an alternative newsletter inviting people to come along for a session of ‘European Rolfing’. I asked Brown if he knew what on earth European Rolfing was, but he’d never heard of such a practice either. I had the feeling that it might involve Brother Dai.

The people who owned Methusula’s were readily identifiable because they seemed to have a great deal of money by Bangor standards. They drove a Porsche, which was unique for alternative people hanging out in Upper Bangor. The restaurant was very small, the prices were reasonable and the customers were mostly students. A lot of businesses in Bangor or Menai Bridge in those days were obviously hobby shops, owned by people who didn’t make enough from their shop to live on but who had another source of income (often a spouse who worked in the university or as a Top Doctor) which subsidised the shop. Methusula’s struck me as being that sort of business, but the couple who owned it worked in there themselves every night and then drove home in the Porsche which was parked just down the road. They did chat to the students and customers, but their goodwill was a bit forced. They sold up and left Bangor in about 1983 and told me that they were buying a pub and restaurant in Devon. They were so frosty when I asked them what their future plans were – which was weird because I’d been a regular in Methusula’s for ages – that I wondered if they had had some sort of bad experience and that’s why they were going.

So Father Deiniol used to be seen around Bangor amongst this crowd. Father Deiniol used to turn up to freshers’ events at UCNW and he was still doing this when I left Bangor in 2012. I was manning a stall at the postgrad fair and who rolled up but Father Deiniol. I had no idea that he was a paedophiles’ friend and hosted the kids from Y Gwyngwyll, I only received information about this after I began this blog.

Father Deiniol has a heavy internet presence. He features on a Facebook page, ‘Past Times of Blaenau Ffestiniog’ and under the title ‘Father Deiniol, Respected Member of Blaenau Ffestiniog’ one can read about Father Deiniol’s ‘journey’. Father Deiniol certainly gets around, he’s travelled the world and although he speaks Welsh, English and Greek, it would appear that Father Deiniol originally came from Wrexham. The coverage of Father Deiniol’s adventures tell us that he became involved in the Orthodox Church when he was a teenager in Wrexham and subsequently founded the Wales Orthodox Mission in the mid-1980s. Father Deiniol is of the generation who were young men when that paedophile ring based in the children’s homes in Wrexham really began expanding their business.

Praise the Lord, we’re a musical nation. Paedophile ring you say? Bechod, we’ve got harps and Elinor Bennett, we’ve got literature and Kate Roberts, we’ve got art and Kyffin and we’ve also got an Orthodox priest with a penchant for purple nail varnish on the toes of young boys…

In 2008, Father Deiniol – Tad Deiniol in Welsh – starred in a TV series, ‘Taith Tad Deiniol’. The series was narrated by Twm Morys who did so because he has ‘an interest in the Orthodox Church’. Twm is a media-friendly Bard who has featured on this blog recently (see post ‘Heart Of Darkness’). Twm’s dad/mum is Jan Morris, who when she was James Morris, was a member of the 1953 Everest expedition – the team leader was Sir Charles Evans, the Top Doctor who was Principal of UCNW for all those years when the paedophiles’ friends ran the place. Twm and Jan are big fans of paedophiles’ friend and colleague Dr Chris Evans.

The TV series starring Father Deiniol was made by Peter Telfer of mid-Wales production company Pixel Foundry, who it is said ‘was a pupil of Father Deiniol’s at Ysgol Ardudwy’.

Pixel Foundry was dissolved in 2013 but used a number of addresses at Machynlleth as well as one at Abersytwyth Arts Centre. Peter Telfer was the Creative Director and a Suzanne Kemp was the Company Secretary. Peter Telfer used an address in Ceinws for a long time. Ceinws hit the media for all the wrong reasons in 2012, when five yr old April Jones from Machynlleth was murdered by Mark Bridger, who lived at Ceinws, having moved there from Birmingham.

One newspaper article stated that Father Deiniol was the Chaplain at Aberystwyth and Bangor Universities.

Another correspondent has told me that a teacher from Anglesey known to the kids as ‘Seagull’ who was ‘hated and feared’ by the children was also a regular at Y Gwyngwyll. I have not been given Seagull’s real name.

There was quite a bit of action at Blaenau Ffestiniog other than Father Deiniol and his Orthodox Church. Blaenau hosted Ceryl Wyn Davies, who I am told still lives there. Ceryl Wyn Davies was the Headmaster of Tanygrisiau School (a primary school near Blaenau) who in 1986, whilst Bowen Rees was Chief Exec of Gwynedd County Council, was jailed for 18 months at Mold Crown Court after pleading guilty to three charges of indecent assault on girls under thirteen. Ceryl Wyn was 47 yrs old at the time of his imprisonment and had been Headmaster of Tanygrisiau School for seven years.

Had Ioan Bowen Rees operated on the same level as the rest of us, Ceryl Wyn’s conviction might have left him a little red-faced, but being Ioan it won’t have. Ceryl Wyn had previous. In 1964, after being convicted at Holyhead Magistrates Court for indecently assaulting schoolgirls whilst being employed as a teacher, Ceryl Wyn was sentenced to nine months in prison. Ioan Bowen Rees stated that Ceryl Wyn’s 1964 conviction had been spent and ‘had to be ignored’. It was true that Ceryl Wyn’s conviction had been spent, but with regard to spent convictions, potential employers are obliged to exercise judgement not ignore the conviction under all circumstances. If the spent conviction is relevant to the job for which the offender is applying, the potential employer is required to take the spent conviction into account. Ceryl Wyn was a child sex offender who had applied for a job as a Headmaster of a primary school.

This was in the days before CRB/DBS checks, so Ceryl Wyn would not have been obliged to mention his 1964 conviction on his application when he threw his hat in the ring for the job as Headmaster of Tanygrisiau School. However, Gwynedd Education Authority were well aware that there was Something About Ceryl Wyn when he became Head of Tanygrisiau. He was already in the employ of Gwynedd County Council as a teacher and was promoted to Headmaster of Tanygrisiau – shortly after he had appeared before Blaenau Ffestiniog Magistrates in 1978 for, er, indecently assaulting school children.

Ceryl Wyn was acquitted. He was defended by the best – Emlyn Hooson QC, the then Liberal MP for Montgomeryshire! Emlyn was a pretty big hitter to bring in for an appearance in Blaenau Ffestiniog Magistrates Court.

Emlyn Hooson was a close mate of Ronnie Waterhouse. Hooson had been part of the Liberal Party panel which investigated Jeremy Thorpe regarding Norman Scott’s allegations years before Jeremy stood trial for conspiracy and incitement to murder Norman. The inquiry had finished by Lord Frank Byers – Lisa Nandy’s grandfather – hurling insults at Norman and Norman giving up and leaving the room in despair (see post ‘My How Things Haven’t Changed’).

It was the year in which Hooson successfully defended Ceryl Wyn for indecent assault that Jeremy Thorpe was charged with conspiracy and incitement to murder Norman. The year after Ceryl Wyn was acquitted, so was Thorpe.

It must have been really great being a friend of Emlyn Hooson.

Glyn Davies, the Tory MP for Montgomeryshire recently appeared in the Welsh media complaining that the recent TV drama about Jeremy Thorpe cast Emlyn Hooson in a very negative light, which according to Davies, was unfair. Glyn Davies spent years sitting on Montgomery District Council alongside Hooson’s wife Shirley, who died very recently (see post ‘The Defence Of The Realm’).

After Ceryl’s second imprisonment – in 1986 – Ioan Bowen Rees maintained that the 1978 panel who promoted Ceryl Wyn to the post of Headmaster was ‘not negligent’ and  ‘did not show favouritism’. Bowen Rees made the point that after his 1964 conviction and prison sentence, Ceryl Wyn was reinstated as a teacher by the Dept of Education in 1970. That was when Thatch was Education Secretary and whilst Cartrefle College was busy distributing qualifications to members of a paedophile gang. A great many of whom ended up working for Ioan Bowen Rees. Bowen Rees himself partly blamed Thatch for that business of Ceryl finding himself working as a Headmaster – ‘with hindsight we can see that the Dept of Education and the local LEA put too much trust in the individual in question’.

The ‘local LEA’ will have been Gwynedd, under the then Chief Exec of Gwynedd County Council, David Alun Jones, Ioan’s predecessor. Ioan wasn’t the Chief Exec when Ceryl Wyn was given a job as Headmaster, but Ioan almost certainly knew Ceryl Wyn back in 1964, when Ceryl Wyn was first jailed for sex offences against children. Because Ioan grew up in north Wales and for years worked as a solicitor for the old Denbighshire County Council. Ioan – and his parents – were well-known locally and in 1955 Ioan stood as the Plaid candidate for Conwy.

Ceryl Wyn may have been only reinstated as a teacher in 1970 out of the kindness of Thatch’s heart, but the folk of Blaenau obviously had no worries regarding his conduct with young people very soon after he was released from prison following his 1964 conviction, because in 1968 Ceryl Wyn was a member of the Council which oversaw the Youth Eisteddfod in Blaenau Ffestiniog. I have been sent a nice photo of Ceryl Wyn, along with the other members of the Council – Maldwyn Parry, Gareth Jones, Elwyn Hughes, Morwen Davies, Pegi Lloyd Williams and Geraint Vaughan Jones.

Ceryl Wyn Davies grew up in Blaenau and trained as a teacher at Coleg Normal in Bangor. He has been a member of a number of local choirs, including Cor Meibion y Moelwyn, of which he was the leader. Ceryl Wyn has also been the Chair of Blaenau Ffestiniog Town Council. He is a keen Eistedfoddwr and is a member of the Gorsedd of the Bards. I am told that he still preaches locally.

Anyone who knows Blaenau Ffestiniog will know that there is absolutely no way that people didn’t know about Ceryl Wyn’s 1964 conviction when he became Head of Tanygrisiau School in 1978. Most of the town will have been to school with Ceryl Wyn and a good few will have been at Coleg Normal with him, EVERYONE will have known.

I am not suggesting that Ceryl Wyn should have been cast into the outer darkness after his 1964 conviction. It says a lot for Blaenau that he wasn’t followed by a baying mob demanding his testicles on a platter. But they did know that a very close eye should have been kept on him where children were concerned. Many people will have been well aware of that and may have had great reservations about Ceryl Wyn turning up as the local primary school Headmaster. I suspect that it was the usual story – we don’t like it, we are very worried but we don’t feel that we can even raise concerns because his mates are bigger than we are and we live here and everyone knows where we live. Neither do we fancy being framed for crimes or being carted off to the North Wales Hospital by the Welsh speaking psychiatric social worker (see post ‘No-One Is Innocent’) on the grounds that we have some serious delusions about a child molesting Headmaster and his friends.

I really don’t have a problem with north Wales accepting Ceryl Wyn back into the fold after he had been to prison. What I have a problem with is the shit that was flung at Alison Taylor, Mary Wynch, me and many others, because we did not have the same mates as Ceryl Wyn, yet we had not serially molested children over decades.

It was in April 1986 when Ceryl Wyn Did It Again and was sent back to prison. Which was about about the time when the threats and aggro towards me from Dr D.G.E. Wood, Tony Francis and other paedophiles’ friends began to escalate. I didn’t know, but at the time Tony Francis was sending furious letters to the BMA and the MDU stressing how dangerous and twisted I was on the basis of my allegations about Gwynne the lobotomist. Gwynne was almost dead by then, they all knew that he wasn’t long for this world, but I was mouthing off and Mary Wynch had put her case before the Master of the Rolls and that had been reported in the London-based broadsheets. I notice that Ceryl Wyn’s case received widespread publicity and was even reported in ‘The Times’. It was mentioned that Ceryl Wyn had indecently assaulted pupils as he marked their work…

Unlike Ceryl Wyn, I, along with others, were hounded out of jobs and nearly ended up in prison – indeed some people did go to prison – without having committed any offences at all. One of the barristers and judges who led the field in such prosecutions was the fat fool Huw Daniel. Who’s father, J.E. Daniel, was an inspector of schools in north Wales and worked at the Bala Theological College, along with the father of Dafydd Iwan – one time leader of Gwynedd County Council – and Alun Ffred, one time member of Gwynedd County Council and subsequently AM for Caernarfon and then Arfon.

Yma O Hyd! Indeed you are – and look at the bloody mess.

After Ceryl Wyn stood accused once more but was acquitted in 1978, Gwynedd County Council assembled a disciplinary panel which met twice to ‘review the position’. The panel decided that it was ‘unreasonable’ to ‘force the children who gave evidence during a lengthy court case to be questioned again’. There is a great deal of sense in that conclusion. I can only stand by and gawp as I witness the damage and distress inflicted upon victims of sexual assault as complete fuckwit after complete fuckwit demand that they ‘talk about it because it helps’. Does it? When was that demonstrated then? I’m not sure that there is much evidence pointing to that. There is however a great deal of evidence that suggests that sexual predators target people whom they think may have been victims of sexual assault previously. Anyone for Dafydd’s sex therapy?

The disciplinary panel would not have needed to have forced traumatised children to give evidence again. The children’s evidence had already been heard in open court. It was publicly available. What the panel should not have done was given Ceryl Wyn a job as a Headmaster shortly after the kids had given evidence, thus giving him unsupervised access to primary school children. Perhaps even the siblings and friends of the kids who had given the evidence…

I suspect that the kids of Blaenau Ffestiniog were fully aware of Ceryl Wyn, kids tend to be quite sharp with regard to adults who have a penchant to Fiddle About. It’s the adults who can’t cope if the Fiddler in question is a Headmaster to whom they are related or are friends with, or a Top Doctor who is good at getting the guilty out of Risley Remand Centre, putting the innocent in there or securing one’s relatives jobs as social workers or places at Liverpool Medical School.

But we didn’t know!

Jokes, cartoons, songs, nicknames…

We didn’t know.

Serious complaints followed by suicides and deaths, houses going up in flames…

A few other stars were and no doubt still are based in Blaenau, along with Father Deiniol and Ceryl Wyn.

In July 2010 Gwilym Euros Roberts was jailed for four and a half years after attacking his estranged wife Catrin with two knives. In April 2010 he broke into Catrin’s house in Blaenau – Roberts was also living in Blaenau but in a different house – armed himself with two knives from the kitchen, burst into a bedroom where Catrin was watching TV yelling ‘I’m going to kill you, fucking bitch’, pushed her onto the bed and tried to stab her in the head and neck. Catrin had been living in fear of Roberts and had dialled 999 when she heard someone breaking in, assuming that it was him. Catrin fought Roberts off, sustaining a broken nose and serious defence wounds to her hands and arms. Catrin stated that Roberts had attempted to murder her.

After Catrin fought back, Roberts ‘fled’ to the house of ‘a friend’ – media reports did not mention their name – and stated ‘I’ve lost it, I’ve tried to stab Catrin’. Roberts made a full admission to the police.

At the time that Gwilym Roberts knifed Catrin, he was on police bail following a brawl in March at the Oakeley Arms at Maentwrog – near to Blaenau – during which it was alleged that Roberts assaulted Catrin and another man, after he found them in a bedroom at the Oakeley Arms. Roberts’s bail conditions had stated that he was not to contact Catrin. Several complaints had been made to the police regarding Roberts breaching his bail conditions before he stabbed Catrin and a few days prior to attacking her, Roberts had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

At the time of the attack on Catrin, much was made of broken-hearted Gwilym committing a crime of passion after the slapper Catrin was found with another man. There was no comment regarding why Catrin might have sought comfort in the arms of someone else. Catrin’s family simply released photos of a narrowly escaping death Catrin and starkly said ‘this is what he did to her’.

Gwilym Roberts was the Councillor for Diffwys and Maenofferen Ward in Blaenau on Gwynedd County Council. Roberts was a Councillor for Llais Gwynedd (Voice of Gwynedd), a breakaway group from Plaid. His conviction and imprisonment caused a by-election.

Roberts stood trial in July 2010. Some reports stated that it was at Mold Crown Court, but others said Caernarfon. He was charged with unlawfully and maliciously wounding or causing grievous bodily harm with intent, rather than attempted murder. Roberts was defended by barrister John Wyn Williams, who stressed that Roberts was ‘genuinely ashamed’ of his actions.

John Wyn Williams was based at Linenhall Chambers in Cheshire. Lord Alex Carlile was based at the same Chambers. John Wyn Williams is married to an Angel who works – or used to work – at the Ablett Unit, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. One of her colleagues there was Dr Neil Davies, a mate of Dafydd’s. Neil Davies was the RMO for Bryn Golau Ward in the North Wales Hospital when I and so many other people were unlawfully imprisoned there in 1986/87. Copies of medical records in my possession show that when one – brave – Angel – told Neil Davies that I had been unlawfully arrested and detained as a result of a ‘deal’ between Dafydd and a Superintendent Roberts at Bangor Police Station and she was most unhappy at being involved with this ‘deal’, Neil Davies told her that she wasn’t really involved, all she had to do was to refuse to let me go.

John Wyn Williams was one of the barristers from whom I sought a legal opinion regarding a possible negligence case against the NHS in about 2004-05. I had a conference with him and received a legal opinion that didn’t actually say ‘no hope on this one’, but somehow it all fizzled out without John Wyn Williams explaining why.

Recorder Winston Roddick QC presided over Gwilym Euros Roberts’s trial. Roddick is a longstanding paedophiles’ friend and was the former Counsel General for Wales when the Waterhouse Report was published (see post ‘Have The Lambs Stopped Screaming?’). Roddick stated that Roberts had  ‘shown genuine remorse’ and of course was ‘ashamed’. Roddick commented that Roberts had ‘an outstanding record of public service. The sentence is the shortest time the law permits’.

The record for Roberts’s case mentions that his ‘good character’, ‘remorse’ and a ‘character reference/witness’ were taken into account re sentencing. I do not know who the character reference was.

‘Call Dr DA Jones, he’s needed in court…’

Gwilym’s good luck just went on and on. In March 2011, whilst Gwilym was serving the shortest sentence possible for wounding rather than a massive sentence for attempted murder following two assaults, criminal damage and repeatedly breaking bail conditions, it was reported that Gwilym had been ‘wrongly assessed’ as being a future risk to the general public and that the condition imposed upon him to be subject to a period of four years on extended licence following his release from prison was overturned. The decision was made in the London Court of Appeal by Mrs – now Dame – Kathryn Thirlwall.

Kathryn Thirlwall went to school at St Anthony’s Girls’ Catholic Academy in Sunderland, then to Bristol University, then to Newcastle Poly.

Readers will remember the paedophile gang which operated in the north east with links to Dafydd’s gang in north Wales, who were protected by politicians, civil servants, Top Docs etc. Readers might need reminding that Lord David Hunt, who spent so many years concealing the crimes of Dafydd et al, is a Bristol University alumnus. As is D.G.E. Wood.

I am told that the MDU are now using the lawyers DAC Beachcroft. A company led by Lord David Hunt.

Grace Dent, the journo who is relentlessly talked up by ‘Woman’s Hour’ and has her own Radio 4 series which involves Grace giving voyeuristic accounts of the troubles of the members of what Blair called the underclass whilst she talks in a hushed northern voice, praised Mrs Justice Thirlwall to the skies after her judgement in the Mick Philpott case, which involved the scrounger with dozens of kids who perished in a house fire whilst the family lived high on the hog on benefits. Grace was particularly impressed with Kathryn Thirlwall being in possession of ovaries and related this to Kathryn’s firm line on male violence towards women.

In that case Grace, perhaps you’d like to move to Blaenau Ffestiniog where you too will be able to reap the benefit of Kathryn Thirlwall’s Wimmin’s Wisdom. There’ll be a spare house for you, because I imagine that when Gwilym Roberts was released, Catrin and anyone who dared support her relocated to another planet. There would have been a spare house anyway, Blaenau is on its knees after years of fuckwittery and it didn’t even have a cashpoint until a few weeks ago after a campaign led by the local MP Liz Saville Roberts. There’s no work and not many buses to get to work if anyone is lucky enough to find a job, so the houses are among the cheapest in the UK. If you’re retired or have a private income you’ll be OK and the countryside around Blaenau is lovely. But unfortunately you’ve got Gwilym on your doorstep and he’s untouchable.

The high profile Wimmin’s Champs in Wales such as Jane Hutt and Val Feld remained totally silent in the wake of Catrin nearly being murdered. Jane Hutt was the driver behind the vomit-inducing plaque commemorating Val Feld which now shines from the wall of the Senedd. Jane was the founder of Welsh Wimmin’s Aid. Whilst I was under attack by the paedophiles’ friends, a Wimmin’s Aid worker lived right opposite my house. She stood next to me at the bus stop, she passed me in the street and on one occasion she was in Bangor Magistrates Court when the paedophiles’ friends were trying to fit me up yet again. It was about five years before she even spoke to me and that was after I had left the village. I doubt if she is wicked through and through, she was probably just terrified of the paedophiles’ friends, as many people are when you get to know them.

Somebody has told me that years ago I and other young women were filmed a la Psycho without our knowledge and the footage flogged and circulated. I can only presume that the scene of the crime was at dear old Denbigh. It was suggested that I should be in the throes of some sort of #Me Too trauma. Well I’m not. It doesn’t surprise me in the least, everyone knew what was happening to us and no-one, no-one at all helped us. At least I am still alive. I am far more interested in sociology and history and writing this blog and naming the people who were involved in this foulness, many of whom are still popping up in the media or in Parliament to give us the benefit of their wisdom.  I heard wimmin’s wisdom on the radio the other day, but I only caught a bit of it. An American feminist who is busy in the UK yelled at the interviewer that the only way of stopping male sexual violence was by making prostitution illegal. Well that worked so well in north Wales didn’t it. By the way Ms Wimmin’s Wisdom, things were so bad in north Wales that Dafydd and co abducted boys and sold them across Europe. No-one gave a stuff but Jane and Val did bang on about being strong wimmin and chwarae teg at length.

Before Gwilym Roberts was banged up, he was a Director of Tourism Partnership Mid-Wales; Prime Cymru; Gwynfryn Cymuneddol Cyf; and Secretary of Tan y Maen Ltd.

I may have got this wrong, but I am fairly sure that Gwilym used to be a children’s/young person’s social worker with Gwynedd County Council, although all references to this have disappeared from the internet. After Catrin nearly left for the next world, I remember noting the unique combination of a broken heart, a passion for the community, a record of outstanding public service and a near brutal slaying that was to be found within Gwilym, because I remembered Gwilym from some years previously.

Gwilym had been a leading light in a group which was established in Wales in about 2000 called Cymuned, in response to the perceived crisis in rural Wales. The concerns were the dying of the Welsh language, closures of rural schools and other services, houses being beyond the price of many local people’s pockets and the lack of employment which paid well enough to actually enable one to support oneself. Some of my friends were involved in Cymuned and invited me along, so I went to some meetings. The English press were keen to portray Cymuned as a cottage-burning Nazi-style anti-English group – someone cheerily asked me why I was hanging out with the Welsh Nazis – but there were people in Cymuned who were definitely not of that ilk. I met some very genuine people who were nothing but welcoming to me and who were tearing their hair out over what was happening in rural Wales. But then the usual phenomenon emerged. The nutters and the in-fighting.

I knew one member of Cymuned who was forced out of her job at Coleg Menai as a teacher of Welsh to English speakers by a Plaid Councillor on the grounds that Cymuned might damage Plaid at the polls. This teacher was so enthusiastic that in her spare time she and a group of her friends had offered free Welsh lessons to anyone who was interested. Which is surely the sort of Welsh teacher that one needs. Then the ‘Daily Mirror’ began launching attacks on Cymuned, particularly Llais Councillor Seimon Glyn. The Mirror had a go at Seimon Glyn because he had been making public speeches about the cost of housing in rural Gwynedd – which was a very real problem.

The Cymuned battles took place just before and just after the publication of the Waterhouse Report. The Mirror could have mentioned that Seimon was a young person’s social worker in Gwynedd and asked him how he managed to miss the presence of a vicious paedophile gang which was facilitated by his managers and his colleagues. But The Mirror didn’t. They got cross because Seimon spoke Welsh and was raising concerns about the dire state of the economy in north west Wales. Call me naive but I can’t see anything wrong with that.

I remember seeing Gwilym Roberts at Cymuned meetings. I didn’t know him but he wasn’t one of the welcoming ones. He reminded me rather of Martin Webster of the National Front in the mid-70s. Gwilym was articulating concerns that people had brought to him and was welcomed by some as a people’s champ, but there was a sort of aura of serious aggression which surrounded Gwilym. I thought perhaps that I was being a poncy Guardian reader and detecting something that wasn’t there, but years later some residents of Blaenau told me that Gwilym had upset and alienated some people in Cymuned by his hostility and aggression. Then some other people in Blaenau told me that Gwilym was not a nice man and had been doing some very unacceptable things for a long time but was well-protected by his mates.

Including the Court of Appeal in London it would seem.

Gwilym was mates with another Llais Councillor from Blaenau, Dafydd Williams, a man known locally as Black Dafydd, which always upset newly arrived English people because they immediately presumed it to be a racist insult. It wasn’t. Black Dafydd is Welsh, but grew up in the Methodist orphanage in Bontnewydd – he was the only black person around and he ended up being called Black Dafydd by his mates and people close to him.  He didn’t have a problem with it – I suspect that he did experience racism but his mate’s nickname for him wasn’t a manifestation of that. One thing that really did irritate him was being called a Taffy when he went to train as an Angel in the north of England.

Anyone for lecturing Welsh people on the evils of racism?

Black Dafydd worked as a mental health nurse in north Wales. He had also previously been a police officer, in Wales and elsewhere. I have never discussed the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal with Black Dafydd, but he must have known what another Dafydd who was white was doing, he absolutely must have.

A paedophiles’ friend of the highest order lives in Blaenau – Hefin Davies, the lying crook and Freemason who was the Chairman of Gwynedd Health Authority and then the Chairman of the NW Wales NHS Trust. The Hefin who’s signature is on documents in my possession showing that after I continued to raise concerns regarding Dafydd Alun Jones, Hefin’s response was not to investigate but to consult a number of lawyers and ask them how I could be prosecuted.

Can you explain your response Hefin? Particularly as you had also received a letter from Brown – which was ignored and which your lapdog Ian Rickard claimed not to have received – telling you that he had heard Dafydd trying to bribe and threaten me into dropping my complaint against him?

I think that the whole lot of you should probably get down to Bangor pier and chuck yourselves off the end, I think that you’ve been rumbled.

The voice of Gwynedd??? The voice of a paedophile ring who supplied Thatcher’s friends with children for sex I think.

People who have followed this blog for a while might remember my references to the havoc in Blaenau some years ago when a war allegedly between ‘the Welsh’ and ‘the English’ took place, including in the local MIND drop in centre. A leading light in Blaenau MIND appeared in the ‘Daily Post’ alleging appalling anti-English feeling in Blaenau. Which is a bit weird, because Blaenau is a bit like Bethesda, it’s a former quarrying town where a lot of hippyish English people moved in ages ago, with a lot of mixing between the two groups. What there is in Blaenau, as with Bethesda, are paedophiles’ friends inflaming every situation possible. MIND is run by Dafydd and the paedophiles and has been for years.

Subsequent media coverage alleged that the aggro at MIND was not the result of anti-English feeling. According to the people who had been accused of racism, it was the result of a load of absolute bastards who had recently moved into Blaenau and colonised the MIND centre there. Further media coverage – and conversations that I had with people – revealed that Manchester City Council had purchased a whole lot of cheap houses in Blaenau and had literally dumped a group of problem tenants in them because Manchester didn’t want them any longer and it was these tenants who had been at the centre of the aggro. There was understandably outrage that Manchester had decided to give Wales the citizens that it didn’t want, but I did not ever hear any explanation as to how and why Manchester decided to use Blaenau as a dustbin. Someone sold Manchester City Council that job lot of houses and someone – indeed quite a lot of people – will have known that a penal colony of Mancunians was to be established in Blaenau.

Gwynedd County Councillors will have been among those who knew that this was going to happen. The North Wales Police will have known. The regional NHS will have known. The regional Social Services will have known.

Gwilym! Hefin! When did you find out that it was going to happen? Who flogged – and indeed advertised – that housing to Manchester City Council? Who INVITED them to dump their needy, expensive, rather difficult citizens into one of the most disadvantaged towns in Gwynedd? I think we should be told.

I mentioned that there was an English speaking contingent in Blaenau involved with radical causes. I used to hear about them years ago when I was a student at UCNW, but I didn’t know them. I later found out that some of them at least ended up living in the area because the presence of Bertrand Russell nearby made it a bit of a Mecca for people interested in radical causes. The Bertrand Russell who had so many friends and associates who knew, even back then, that there was organised abuse of vulnerable people in the region but that Top Docs and asylums could provide a helpful solution should anyone start making too much of a fuss (see posts ‘So Who Was Angry About What?’ and ‘No-One Is Innocent’).

The Hergest Unit patients who enjoyed themselves so much in the 1990s by ringing up Dafydd and pretending to be people as corrupt as him who had got themselves involved with ridiculous tangles as a result of their wrongdoing fell about laughing every time that Dafydd fell for the bait and would say ‘how can I help, how I help?’. Dafydd was always ready with a place in a nursing home for an awkward relative or a bed in a detox unit or an Army pension. Dafydd might be interested to know that on one occasion a distraught gentleman rang Dafydd’s ‘private secretary’ at his wit’s end because of his father-in-law, who had begun to develop dementia and repeatedly groped all the private nurses who had been employed to look after him. The problem was so bad that five nurses had walked out and word had got around and now no nurses would come to the house. Dafydd’s secretary was ever so sympathetic and said that perhaps a bed in one of Dafydd’s nursing homes was indeed the answer. The distraught gentleman asked of he should leave his details and his father-in-law’s name – it was of course ‘Dafydd Alun Jones’. The secretary screamed with laughter, sounded as though she had nearly fallen off her chair and then put the phone down.

‘We didn’t know.’

You all knew and the reason why you all joined in the bellyaching about ‘dangerous patients’ was that the patients had begin to discover the extent of Dafydd’s criminality and were finding out who was helping him.

An e mail that I received some time ago suggested that in a region like north Wales, a major trafficking ring would have needed the collusion of the ‘police surgeons’ – which was the grandiose term for local GPs who would attend the police station if the police thought that it was necessary. The police surgeons were undoubtedly colluding with Dafydd and the paedophiles. My post ‘Hippocratic Oath Or Hypocritic Oaf?’ detailed the conduct of a police surgeon, Dr K. Shah, who, after what must have been the only honest social worker in Gwynedd refused to section me just because Dafydd told her to do so, told Sgt Morgan of Bangor Police Station to unlawfully keep me in the cells whilst Shah rang around and found a social worker that would do what they were told. Shah was a GP in Menai Bridge who was in a GP practice with Dr P.W. White, another paedophiles’ friend. On another occasion on which Dafydd and the paedophiles had me arrested, another police surgeon turned up. As usual I was not given his name, no-one was ever given anyone’s names. He didn’t conduct himself like Shah, he was quite pleasant and good-humoured, but he certainly knew all about Dafydd’s less reputable activities because he sat there joking about them. He didn’t section me, but left the police station. Yet no-one let me go. Once more I was held illegally for hours ‘because Dr DA is coming to see you’. Dafydd turned up at about midnight, crashed through the doors and said to me ‘I think ewe should be in prisssson’. Why, he did not explain. I didn’t end up in prison, Dafydd’s Cunning Plan was foiled, although I was kept at the police station overnight and kicked out the next day. The police surgeon who had joked about Dafydd’s idiocy did not raise any concerns regarding what was happening.

Dr D.G.E. Wood was one of the police surgeons. So of course police surgeons were colluding with Dafydd and the paedophiles, Wood was one of them.

My correspondent – who is a Top Doctor himself – made the point that much of the police surgeons’ work is related to the use of alcohol and drugs. Which hadn’t occurred to me. Corrupt Top Doctors working in that domain would certainly be able to cause havoc for patients in custody. Furthermore Dafydd was north Wales’s ‘substance abuse consultant’.

On one occasion, in Caernarfon Police Station in about 2003, a police surgeon was called – after the mental health services had once again had me arrested on the basis of the perjury of their own staff – who seemed incredibly nice. He talked to me at length, stated his opinion frankly that the Hergest Unit was so unsafe that patients should not be there. As he left he told me that he was so unhappy at ‘what has happened to you today’ that he would be leaving a log of his concerns on the police record. It was another three years or so before my lawyers extracted my records, but although I’ve found the paperwork and the police records relating to that occasion, there is no record of this GP having seen me. Whether he was yet another person who was frightened and just told me a lie or whether he did make a record and it disappeared I don’t know.

The other service which was fully on board with the sex trafficking ring in north Wales was the Ambulance Service. I have mentioned before that the abducted always arrived at Denbigh under cover of darkness, in the middle of the night. Everyone ended up there after being unlawfully arrested, but they were never taken to Denbigh by the police, it was always by ambulance. Furthermore, although the abducted were usually arrested during daylight hours, for some reason an ambulance was never available until after about 10 pm. Well police cars would have  been noticed wouldn’t they. And as with Angels and Top Doctors who are vital cogs in a people trafficking gang, Ambulances can be wrapped up as part of a ‘caring’ NHS, rather than a punitive police response. It was of course Alun Davies, the manager of the Hergest Unit, who wrote that splendid letter and CC’d it to other managers and Top Docs, explaining that it was helpful that I had agreed to see Tony Francis because that would give Gwynedd Health Authority the appearance of taking a ‘caring’ attitude to me, which would stand them in good stead with the magistrates the ‘next time that we prosecute her’. I wasn’t facing any charges when Davies wrote that letter, but it wasn’t long before I was.

In north Wales I knew of a violent wife-beating ambulanceman who was abusive to one of his neighbours who was a Hergest patient and was also very abusive to his own step-daughter who was a mental health patient. His long suffering second wife finally escaped from him and told me that she suspected that he might well have killed his first wife. His first wife ‘had a breakdown’, was taken to Denbigh and on the day that she was released was later found drowned on Denbigh moors. The ambulanceman had collected her – in his ambulance no less, not in the family car – and on the way home, she had ‘gone mad’, overpowered him, run away and must have drowned herself.

I knew of other people who became paramedics in north Wales who I certainly would not have wanted to be in the back of an ambulance with, but north Wales doesn’t seem to be alone where dangerous ambulancemen are concerned. In 1978 a 13 yr old newspaper boy in the West Midlands, Carl Bridgewater, was shot dead on an isolated farm. Four men were subsequently imprisoned for Carl’s murder, but it was admitted in the end that they had been framed by the notoriously corrupt West Midlands Serious Crime Squad and after many years languishing in prison they were released. Subsequent investigations suggested that Carl’s murderer was suspected to have been an ambulanceman who was allowed to do pretty much anything that he wanted when ‘on duty’ and who also had a supply of caring NHS colleagues who lied to the police and fabricated documentation when questioned (see post ‘More Than Politics And Local Government’).

At the time that Carl was killed, nearby in Staffordshire, there was serious child abuse. An Inquiry was subsequently held, Chaired by paedophiles’ friends Barbara Khan and Allen Levy QC, which admitted serious abuse but not as serious as it was. The most high-profile figure in the Staffordshire Pindown Scandal was a social worker called Tony Latham, who sounded remarkably like Gwynedd’s own Keith Fearns. Latham was a poorly qualified ‘team leader’, aggressive and intimidating to both clients and colleagues and the focus of complaints that were not investigated. Latham also ran a number of businesses which were completely unrelated to social work and were rather odd. As did Keith Fearns. Fearns ran a B&B which is not a weird thing to do, but Fearns hated the human race, it’s not as if he would want to entertain strangers, but most intriguingly, Fearns for years ran a fancy dress hire company. I never worked out what it was all about, but at the bottom of Fearns’s drive was a big sign advertising fancy dress hire. If anyone can think of any reason why a perjuring people trafficker would be hiring out fancy dress, please let me know. It was fancy dress, rather than disguises or plastic surgery to change Fearns’s appearance when he escaped to South America, he could hardly escape justice dressed up as Marie-Antoinette.

Recent comments left on this blog mentioned that Greville Janner seemed to have used Jewish networks to protect himself. Janner and Leo Abse both certainly did this, but I don’t think that it can therefore be concluded that there is a particular problem with child abuse in the Jewish community. Abusive people utilise whatever networks to which they have access in order to use as umbrellas. In north Wales, Dafydd and co used political parties, the National Eisteddfod, the International Eisteddfod, the various churches and chapels, the choirs, Welsh language groups, indeed just about everything. Then there were the charidees and wimmin’s groups who were concealing Dafydd and the paedophiles. English people tended to point at ‘Welsh’ things and scream, but sadly Dafydd et al had such a grip on the region that the whole of society had been corrupted.

The paedophiles’ friends in the Bangor area congregated at the Bangor Golf Club. There was a contingent of people in the area who made a point of playing at the Beaumaris Golf Club rather than Bangor and I did wonder if it might have been because they felt so uncomfortable at Bangor Golf Club. Or of course they might have had their own scam going over at Beaumaris. Bob Ingham, Keith Fearns’s henchman in the Arfon Community Mental Health Team, could be found playing golf at Bangor Golf Club when he was supposed to be on duty, a number of members of the clique who hung around the NHS managers in Gwynedd also spent their leisure time at Bangor Golf Club, as did Elwyn Jones, the corrupt Bangor solicitor who was a paedophiles’ friend and who doubled up as Treasurer of Bangor University. Elwyn Jones was so enthusiastic about Bangor Golf Club that I would see him in Bangor Magistrates Court – he always gave the impression of being completely uninterested in his clients and not very competent either – and he would be doing nothing but telling the other solicitors and court officials how he was looking forward to getting onto the golf course after court. I would watch Elwyn Jones do the absolute bare minimum for his clients – even those in a state who were facing a possible prison sentence – and the minute that the case had finished, he’d shoot out of the door and head for the golf course.

I used to think that Elwyn Jones must have been the most boring old fart in Bangor, but I didn’t realise that Bangor Golf Club was one of the prime networking sites for the paedophiles’ friends. Which made a syndrome that I noticed in the mid-1990s very worrying. Golf became very popular among boys of about 10-12 yrs old in the Bangor area. Someone was vigorously promoting golf as a nice thing that dads could do with their sons if the boys were approaching adolescence. Obviously, the dads went to the golf club with their sons, but then as the boys got more confident on the course and became keener and keener and the poor old dads needed a rest, the boys were told that of course they could come and play golf by themselves. I used to chat to a boy at the Bethesda bus stop who would tell me all about it. I was a bit surprised that a boy of 11 or 12 would want to spend his time with Elwyn Jones and the old farts of Bangor, but now I know what that golf club was being used for I find it horrifying.

So let’s name another in hiding who knew what Dafydd and the paedophile gang were up to.

Here’s a surprise for everyone – as it was for me when I realised: Dr Lyndon Miles, a GP in Bangor who arrived in Gwynedd in about 1983-84. Dr Miles was the Vice-Chair of the Betsi Board when it was led by Mary Burrows who was doing her best to challenge the paedophiles friends and the BMA in north Wales – or at least I think that she was. I knew damn well that the paedophiles’ friends were trying to sabotage the new Board and there were knives going into people’s backs all over the place. What I didn’t know at the time was that Edwina Hart, the Health Minister, who loathed the paedophiles’ friends herself, was of course deeply compromised because of her previous in the TUC – and as a member of the Swansea Mafia – where she had spent many years doing deals with the paedophiles’ friends to advance herself. She did exactly the same thing when she was appointed Health Minister, so she couldn’t actually get rid of them let alone arrest them, in spite of me having given her enough evidence to put some of them on trial. The rotten core remained intact, with the usual NHS solution – new job titles and new logos everywhere.

Dr Lyndon Miles was a friend of Edwina’s. It was Lyndon’s resignation as Vice-Chair that precipitated the collapse of the newly appointed Betsi Board, which led to the return of Peter Higson, Margaret Hanson and the bestest vintage paedophiles’ friends. I witnessed Lyndon address a baying mob of paedophiles’ friends at a public meeting – the baying mob was organised by an NHS trade union rep, I arrived early, heard the plan and watched it unfold. The mob had been bussed in from Blaenau Ffestiniog no less. The baying mob were going apeshit about the proposal that newborns needing intensive care should be treated at Arrowe Park near Liverpool, rather than in north Wales. Lyndon made an excellent speech explaining that the best care was available at Arrowe Park and if he had a critically ill baby, he would want the best care for the baby. I was in agreement, because I knew that the maternity units in north Wales were dangerous, that babies and even on occasion mothers had died needlessly and that Edwina was not coming clean about this. What I didn’t know was that Dafydd and the paedophiles controlled most of the Liverpool NHS as well, including I expect Arrowe Park.

Lyndon’s resignation came as quite a surprise, especially to me. Because just two weeks previously, Lyndon had bumped into me in a cafe and told me how good it was that someone at least understood the Board’s dilemma. I told him that I thought the threats that had been made in public to the Board were very unacceptable and that I noted that no-one, not even the politicians or the media who witnessed it, had called for calm. Lyndon responded by saying that it was becoming very difficult, that the press were in full cry and were being led by Trinity Mirror group, but the Board were determined and would not crumble. It can only have been two weeks later that Lyndon resigned, causing a crisis.

So it seems that Lyndon was yet another person who was not being honest and transparent. So I’ll give Lyndon a surprise. Because I am not the sort to join a baying mob, I’ll remind Lyndon of a few things that I was keeping politely quiet about when he told me that honestly, he really had never heard anything at all about the abuse of mental health patients in north Wales. I knew Lyndon many, many years ago. As the crisis caused by the sex traffickers running the Student Health Centre reached catastrophic proportions, a lovely young doctor arrived to join the Student Health Centre and he came highly recommended to all those who had heard about the lobotomist and Wood and said ‘Christ I’m not going there’. A Dr Lyndon Miles. I never heard anyone allege that Lyndon had groped them, propositioned them or treated them so brutally that they attempted suicide. Lyndon was always charm itself and his patients liked him. But Lyndon knew what Wood and Gwynne Williams were doing and he let them carry on doing it. Even when one of his patients was murdered by the gang. It was my housemate Anne. Anne and I had many conversations, she knew what had happened to me and I heard a lot about her consultations with Lyndon. They murdered her Lyndon and I bet that you realised that.

Lyndon had another patient who was ruined by the gang as well. A Bangor student who developed mental health problems who was literally passed around the junior gynaecologists at Ysbyty Gwynedd. She became pregnant by two different junior doctors and she was coerced into an abortion by them each time. They arranged the abortion – in a area of the UK which prided itself at that time on having so many Top Docs and others who were anti-abortion that they had made it virtually impossible for women to access abortions on the NHS – and when she told them that she didn’t want an abortion, on both occasions the solution was the same. She was found a bed in the psych ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd, by her very helpful GP, Dr Lyndon Miles, where she was left alone and distressed whilst pressure was applied from all staff to have a termination because how would a girl like her ever look after a baby? Within two days of having the terminations, she was discharged by Tony Francis with no aftercare. Other staff and patients were told not to have anything to do with her because she really was a dreadful character (see post ‘Another Case Of ‘Not Knowing’?).

Terrible girl actually – with a First, who was winning national poetry competitions, kind-hearted, sensitive and who could have had a few people in prison if anyone had ever treated her complaints as they should have.

Happy memories Dr Miles! Take a hint – don’t ever be so fucking stupid as to do a deal with a paedophile ring and a Health Minister who isn’t as savvy as she thinks that she is again.

Dr Miles is Chair of the Board of Trustees at St David’s Hospice in Llandudno, an institution governed and managed by the paedophiles’ friends since it’s inception.

A Vampire At Glyndwr University!

The Daily Post is tremendously excited after discovering that a senior lecturer at Glyndwr University is an ‘expert’ on vampires, has published on the subject and even appeared on daytime TV. The Post has got it’s teeth into this story because a PhD student of the lecturer concerned is claiming compensation for ‘work related stress’ and is maintaining that there is a ‘health and safety issue’ at stake. Allegations have been made that after a lecture on vampires, a student cut themselves and licked the cut to taste the blood.

I’ll declare an interest in this story now. The lecturer concerned is Dr Emyr Williams and I know Emyr very well. I became friends with him when were both doing our PhDs at Bangor University and I remained close friends with him for years although I haven’t seen him recently because I was forced to leave north Wales after extreme harassment from the paedophiles’ friends. Dr Emyr Williams is not and never has been a ‘vampire’, as the lurid story in the Post speculates. Emyr is a psychologist of religion and his first degree was in theology. His PhD was actually on the beliefs and attitudes of people attending Bangor Cathedral, but Emyr is very bright, very inquiring and he also became interested in the beliefs of people who follow alternative spritualities -and yes, there are people in the UK who claim to be vampires. Emyr is now one of the leading authorities on this. That has nothing to do with being a vampire. Glyndwr University were very keen to employ Emyr – the institution is seriously short on high achieving academics and they bit his arm off when he showed an interest in working there. Emyr is also a whizz at stats, which very few academics are unless they are actually statisticians. This means that Emyr can spot bad research when he sees it or research that is trying to mislead and there is a lot of that about. As for ‘work related stress’ – if there is work related stress at Glyndwr and from what I used to hear there was always plenty of that, it will not be emanating from Emyr. He shows a concern for the well-being of his students and colleagues way beyond that usually found in universities. Indeed that is how I became such good friends with Emyr. Whilst the paedophiles’ friends harassed and threatened me, spread vicious rumours about me, rang up my PhD supervisor and dripped poison into his ear, drove cars in my direction very fast very carelessly and then had me arrested because the Chair of the North West Wales NHS Trust Elfed Roberts was ‘fed up’ of my complaints about the mental health services and was cross because I had pink hair and had called his ludicrous car a penismobile, Emyr was the best friend that one could have had. He could see exactly what was going on and like the Hergest Whistleblower and a few others who stood by me, reassured me that the appalling behaviour of these people said nothing about me.

It speaks volumes about Glyndwr that it is Emyr who has found himself at the centre of a storm there. Glyndwr University is a troubled institution and it has been for years. There are a number of other academics there who like Emyr are high performing both in terms of their research and their teaching, but Glyndwr has found itself at the bottom of the league tables ever since it was created but they don’t have enough staff like Emyr. Glyndwr has tried to construct itself as an institution which is vocationally based, but there are massive problems with that claim as well. I don’t know anything about the engineering side of Glyndwr, but I do know about the ‘health and social care’ side – we’re back to the paedophiles’ friends again. The institution is teaming with ‘experts’ in health and social care who have previously worked in or been very well aware of the practices of the dreadful ‘services’ in north Wales and their penchant for neglecting and abusing patients. But none of them will say a word. My post ‘Last Man Standing’ details the background of Dr Wulf Livingstone, a senior lecturer in social work there – Livingstone knows so much about the misconduct of the ‘services’ that he probably should make his way to the police station and give a statement. A few years ago Glyndwr was running a ‘substance abuse’ course for people who wanted to work with drug users. Except that it seemed that people with the backgrounds and skills necessary for that work were being turned down for places – whilst places were offered to people who were drug users themselves. Why are we not surprised? The ‘substance abuse’ business in north Wales is dominated by CAIS, the ‘charity’ run by the paedophiles’ friends Dafydd and Lucille and some of their ‘peer support workers’ are dealing to their ‘clients’. As Brown observed, no-one in north Wales would want a drugs worker who could actually do the job properly, because they’d see straight through CAIS and get more than a few of them arrested.

Glyndwr University has a history from which it has not escaped. It was previously known as NEWI, the North East Wales Institute and before that, Cartrefle College. Read the biographies of the paedophiles and their friends as described in the Waterhouse Report – again and again they had ‘trained’ at Cartrefle College. The thugs on the ground battering and sexually assaulting the kids in care in north Wales had qualifications from Cartrefle College but their managers frequently had qualifications from Bangor University, Liverpool University or Salford College of Technology. The lawyers and judges who protected them all were often graduates of Aberystwyth and the Top Doctors sitting on the heap of shit were frequently graduates of Liverpool Medical School. There was a very obvious pattern. Somebody was employed at Cartrefle College giving qualifications to that bunch of monsters – and that somebody will have been subsumed into NEWI when it was formed and then into Glyndwr University. Even if they are now retired, it will be the usual phenomenon – they’ll still be in touch with former students and associates who will not yet have retired, they’ll be pulling the strings and back-scratching and everyone will be quietly reminded of exactly how many reputations and careers will go tits-up or indeed how many now elderly people could die in prison if the vow of silence is broken. What happened in children’s homes in north Wales is now receding into history, a lot of the politicians and judges involved are dead and those we know and love are fully aware that if they can keep the lid on it for another ten years or so they’ll be home and dry. Pensions and reputations intact. Of course nearly all the kids who were in the homes and the patients of the paedophiles’ prisons – the North Wales Hospital and Garth Angharad – are now dead, having met unfortunate premature deaths.

People living and working in north Wales have long since been fascinated by the tales of madness and serious mismanagement that leaked out of Glyndwr University. The centre of the most florid stories was Professor Mike Scott, the former Vice-Chancellor. People looked on in wonder and asked each other how much longer the chaos could be allowed to continue – staff told stories of Mike Scott giving crazed lectures to the staff en masse, of Scott telling barefaced lies and of rumours that the University was known to be virtually bankrupt but Scott nonetheless was spending like a drunken sailor on bizarre plans. One of the most notorious was Mike Scott’s plan to establish a ‘corridor of knowledge’ – he purchased some sheds along the side of a road in Wrexham in pursuit of this plan, but somehow it never really got off the ground. One of the Biggest Mysteries in north Wales also involves Mike Scott – whilst it was widely alleged that Glyndwr was flat on it’s back breathing it’s last financially, Mike Scott purchased the Racecourse which was next to the University for nearly two million quid – no-one could work out HOW. Allegations of financial corruption flew…He paid a lot of money for the sheds as well. Even people who only fleetingly met Mike Scott never forgot him – someone who shook hands with him described it as like shaking hands ‘with a wet fish’. But then I discovered that Scott had previous. Before being given his own university to destroy, he had been a PVC at De Montfort University – and had really screwed up there. Whilst Scott was at De Montfort he announced plans to establish an ‘axis of knowledge’ passing through three countries (I think the countries involved were England, Wales and Ireland), a bit like Hitler’s expansionist plans a few decades ago. People marvelled at how, after the DMU years, Scott was ever actually given any sort of job at NEWI, let alone given responsibility for running the place. It was alleged that NEWI was such a train wreck that the Welsh Gov’t were desperate for it to ‘merge’ with another institution, but no other college would touch them with a barge pole. Whilst he was wreaking havoc in Wrexham, there was another truly fascinating anecdote circulating about Mike Scott. Some of the older staff at Bangor University claimed to know the man who failed Mike Scott’s PhD in times past. I was told that Scott had done a PhD in English years ago, but he failed his viva and had to resubmit, which is why so many at Bangor looked on in horror at what he was allowed to do in Wrexham.

I know that readers will be fully aware that much of this can be interpreted as academics sneering at other institutions and their alleged follies and of course an awful lot of that goes on. Brown always used to say ‘when you work in a university you hear the most appalling things about people and you must never believe a word of it. But you must never be naïve enough not to listen’. But the reason that there was so much interest in what was going on in Wrexham was that someone somewhere was allowing this to happen – and public money was being squandered on a very large scale. Where was the accountability?

So what about the governance of Glyndwr University? Let’s take a look.

The current Chancellor of Glyndwr University is Trefor Jones CBE; he took up the post in Jan 2016. Trevor is described as having a ‘long and distinguished relationship with NEWI’ – he was their Chair. Trefor Jones was the Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd 2001-2012. He took his duties seriously – when HM the Queen and went to visit Flint, Trefor met her at Flint station! (Flint station is a dreadfully grotty place, I’m gobsmacked that Her Maj ever agreed to alight there.) Readers will understand why my interest was piqued when I saw that Trefor had been appointed to this post – this blog is full of the names of the paedophiles’ friends who ended up as Lord Lieutenants or Deputy Lieutenants. So who is Trefor?

Trefor Jones grew up in Rhyl and started his working life as an apprentice at what is now called Airbus at Broughton. He eventually became Chair and CEO of Pilkington Optronics. In 2000 Pilkington won a contract worth millions to supply the Royal Netherlands Army. I note that the new Vice-Chancellor of Glyndwr, Professor Maria Hinfelaar, is described as a ‘Dutch national’. Now that could well be of no significance – but continue reading this post.

Trefor has many varied interests. He was or is Chairman of the North Wales Area Committee; was or is the Chair of Celtec; was or is a member of the Welsh Industrial Development Advisory Board; was or is the Chair of the North Wales Economic Forum; was the Deputy Chair of the WDA (see post ‘Corruption Bay Special’ for background on the infamous WDA); he was or is the Chair of Clwyd Justices Advisory Committee; he has just stepped down from his role as Chair of St Kentigerns Hospice. Now perhaps he is, as the local media reassures us, simply a man who has dedicated his life to public service in north Wales. But guess what else Trefor was? He was a member of Clwyd Health Authority. So Trevor knew that Dafydd and Gwynne the lobotomist of the North Wales Hospital were unlawfully banging people up who crossed the paths of the paedophile gang. Trefor will have been one of the people who ignored the numerous complaints about patients being assaulted, sexually abused and fleeced of their money. He was part of the Health Authority that did not investigate complaints about those matters. As a member of that Health Authority he will have known the other people named on this blog who as members of both the Health Authority and Clwyd Social Services were directly involved in concealing the abuse in children’s homes in Clwyd. After the abolition of Clwyd Health Authority, Trefor continued with an NHS role – he was Vice-Chairman of Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust. So he will have had domain over those notoriously dreadful wards for the elderly in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd then.

Trefor had fingers in many pies and was at the top of one of the biggest businesses in north Wales. He is someone who could have spoken up about the wrongdoing. But he didn’t.

More about those pies. When Trefor was appointed Lord Lieutenant, the Clerk to the Lord Lieutenant Colin Everett – who doubled up as CEO of Flintshire County Council – announced in Jan 2009 that Tefor had appointed numerous Deputy Lieutenants. Among them were Judge Roger Dutton, Lady Susan Langford, Michael Peters and Professor Mike Scott. Lady Susan Langford is President of St Kentigerns, the hospice of which Trefor has just stopped being Chairman! Lady Susan’s husband, Lord Geoffrey Langford, is a Patron of St Kentigerns. Michael Peters I believe is better known as Mike Peters, the rock star from the band The Alarm. Mike Peters and his wife Jules are probably the most effective PR people that Ysbyty Glan Clwyd has. Mike Peters famously developed testicular cancer and has spent the years since raising money and extolling the wonders of the hospital which saved his life. Presumably the Top Doctors didn’t tell Mike that testicular cancer has a very low mortality rate and that nearly all patients survive, even if they are treated in a hospital with a reputation as bad as Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. A recent press release informed us that Jules has now been diagnosed with breast cancer. I think that someone ought to tell her just how big the problems are in YGC and give her the chance to be treated elsewhere, because breast cancer has a much higher mortality rate than testicular cancer. As for Professor Michael Scott – well we know all about him…

So who sits on the governing body of Glyndwr University? I had a look at the University website and the Governor’s Register of Interests 2016/17 and this is what I discovered. The governors include:

Celia Jenkins. In 2013 Celia was the High Sheriff of Clwyd. She was originally from Cheshire – the stomping ground of Sir Peter Morrison MP and all those who kept quiet about him molesting children (see post ‘    ‘). Celia is the Deputy Chair of the North East Wales Magistrates Bench, the Chair of the North East Wales Magistrates Panel, a member of the Wrexham Youth Justice Management Board, a member of the Lord Chancellor’s Committee for Clwyd and a member of the Executive Committee of the League of Friends Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Foundation Hospital. Celia’s spouse is a member of the Council of Chester University and a Board Member of the Llangollen International Eisteddfod. Previous posts have mentioned people involved in the abuse of children in north Wales who trained at Chester College – which became Chester University – and the paedophiles’ friends who were or are involved with the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, including the daddy of the biggest cover-up, Sir Ronald Waterhouse.

Barrie Jones. Barrie is the Editorial Director of NWW media – he joined the ‘family owned Board of Directors’ in 2010. This is the North Wales Weekly News Group, which published illustrious local titles including the North Wales Weekly News and Wrexham Leader. Barrie worked for those newpapers back in the 80s. When those papers had a penchant for printing flattering articles about Dr Dafydd Alun Jones rather than what was really happening inside of the North Wales Hospital. I very much doubt that the victims of the paedophiles’ were given much of a voice in those titles either. Barrie is involved with the journalism course at Glyndwr!

Gill Kreft. Gill is married to the well-known Mario Kreft and they own the Pendine Park empire, a substantial business involving care homes for the elderly and those with dementia. Gill is listed as a Director and shareholder of a number of the businesses that she and Mario run. She is also a Director of DBS Disclosures Services Ltd, a Director of Gwarchod Properties Ltd and a Trustee of the Social Care Institute of Excellence. The Social Care Institute of Excellence is now a standing joke in the wake of recent revelations as to the reality of much ‘social care’ in the UK. Gill also has a role with the Academy of Care Practitioners Ltd and Care Forum Wales.

Gill’s husband is very high profile in Wales and appears in the media regularly raising concerns regarding the lack of funding for social care. He certainly sounds much more compus mentis than many other people involved in that area of business in north Wales, although I don’t know anyone who’s ever worked for him so I don’t know what the reality is. His business is certainly very substantial and seems to be expanding rapidly, in spite of his pleas of living on the breadline and being unable to afford to pay his staff anything higher than the legal minimum. I note that Gill lists her interests as opera and exotic travel, such a viewing mountain gorillas. Opera and luxury holidays to the Virunga National Park don’t come cheap. I doubt that the care assistants at Pendine Park can afford such pastimes.

Rebecca Maxwell. Corporate Director of the Economy and Public Realm at Denbighshire County Council. In 2003 was Head of Children’s Services for Stirling Council. Prior to this, Rebecca had a ‘thirteen year career in the NHS in a variety of strategic and operational roles in England and Scotland’. Advisor to the North Wales Economic Ambition Board.

Paul McGrady. Has lived in Wrexham since 1977 – he was there when the paedophile gang in the Wrexham children’s homes was doing it’s worst than. Paul works at Wrexham County Borough Council as an accountant. That’s the Wrexham County Borough Council who were involved in the fiddle that I have previously blogged about which ensured that Dafydd and Lucille’s charity CAIS landed the contract for ‘service user involvement’ across the whole of north Wales then. Paul has previous – in 2005 he was Head of Finance and Assests for Denbighshire County Council. Denbighshire County Council has featured on the blog previously regarding irregularities in the funds – on some occasions the funds weren’t there. In 2015 Paul was appointed a Director of CCG, the ‘social landlord’ that was formed when the housing stock of Gwynedd County Council was transferred. The CCG who continues to employ the same staff who fiddled and embezzled when they were employed by the housing dept in Gwynedd County Council (see post ‘News Round-Up, March 24 2017’), the CCG that is the subject of constant serious complaints and media exposes.

Judy Owen. Judy is a Trustee/Director of St Kentigerns Hospice – that’s right, the hospice from which Trefor has just stepped down as Chairman! Judy joined Pilkington P.E. Ltd in 1973 and progressed to the role of site accountant. So she was an employee of Trefor’s then – and was responsible for the dosh. In 1999 she left Pilkington to work for Euro DPC at Llanberis, where she became finance director. I used to live near Euro DPC and they became a legend. When they first opened their doors in 1991 or 1992, they placed big adverts in the local papers telling local people how many ‘opportunities’ would be available. The employment situation in the area was dire, so everyone – including me – beat a path to their door. What a shock we had. The ‘international biotech company’ who had told the world that there would be well-paid managerial and scientific jobs in Llanberis was indeed seeking managers and scientists, but they had no intention of paying managers and scientists professional salaries, at least if those managers and scientists were local. I was offered the grand sum of £6000 pa after replying to an advert for scientists with postgrad qualifications and experience and the son of someone else I know was offered a similar pittance when he applied for a managerial position. When I asked why they were offering their scientists and technicians such poor pay they cheerily told me that the ‘market rate’ in Gwynedd dictated the salaries on offer. Euro DPC also had a plant in Oxford – where people doing exactly the same jobs as in Llanberis were paid very much more. I knew of one person who moved from Gwynedd to Oxford to do exactly the same job for much higher pay. Because Euro DPC paid sheepshaggers less. I that bet Euro DPC received ‘funding’ from the WDA to set that plant up in Llanberis as well. Do you want to tell us what was going on in that company Judy? Euro DPC played fast and loose with Health and Safety as well. One of the students that I did teacher training with in 2000/01 was partially blind. She’d been a chemist at Euro DPC in Llanberis, there’d been an accident and chemicals had got into her eye – there was no first aider on the premises and a manager refused to take her to Ysbyty Gwynedd for a check up. She suffered damage to her sight.

Phil Storrow. Phil is Head of a Dept at Glyndwr. He used to work at British Aerospace, just like Trefor. Phil is also a Director of Optic Glyndwr Ltd and of Glyndwr Innovations Ltd. So he is a Head of Dept at Glyndwr, a Director of two businesses owned by the University and a member of the University’s governing body – having previously worked for a company that the University’s Chancellor is associated with. Phil is also a Trustee of the Chester Childbirth Appeal. I don’t know what that is all about – although no doubt Trefor Jones will be involved somewhere – but the Countess of Chester Hospital has received an awful lot of bad publicity recently after it was revealed that the care was shite and a number of babies died unnecessarily. But then the maternity care at that hospital was not what it should have been for many years, but no-one piped up.

David Subbachi. Yet another Magistrate – David has sat on the Wrexham and Denbigh Benches for twenty years and was Chair of the Denbigh Bench. He is a former member of the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Committee for North Wales on the selection and recruitment of Magistrates and a member of the Welsh Bench Chair’s Forum as well as the National Council for Magistrates’ Association. David’s career was spent as a civil servant in the Valuation Office Agency. He is a governor of Ysgol Morgan Llwyd Wrexham and a former governor of St Mary’s RC School, Wrexham. David’s wife is Chair of Offa Community Council.

Vincent Ryan. He was born and educated in Wrexham, but he won’t have been one of the kids who grew up in a children’s home there. He has a law degree from Cardiff University and in 1981 joined Allington Hughes Solicitors, becoming a partner with the firm in 1988. He stayed until 2009. So he was a local lawyer both whilst the paedophile ring raged and throughout the Waterhouse cover-up then. Which explains why he’s the Chair of Trustees of the Wrexham Diocesan Protection Management Committee. Vincent is an employment judge at employment tribunals.

Brian Everett. Brian has spent his career in UCU (Universities and Colleges Union). He is an employment judge in employment tribunals as well. Brian is a Director of Bevere H Consulting and the Chair of Wrexham RC Diocesan Safeguarding Commission. He is also a Trustee of the CAB. As is Lucille Hughes, the woman who was named in the Waterhouse Report as knowing that a paedophile ring was operating in the social services but failed to act, whilst she was Director of Gwynedd Social Services. Brian is Trustee and Chair of the Charles Lloyd Foundation.

Neil Ashbridge.  Neil is a non-executive Director of Cartrefi Conwy and Vice-Chair of Disability Wales. He is a member of the Liverpool Cathedral Finance Committee; a member of Liverpool Hope University’s Executive Advisory Board; a member of Oxford University’s Business Economy Project Advisory Board; a member of the Welsh Industrial Development Advisory Board; a Director of the Board of West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce; the Chair of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.

Professor Sandra Jowett. Sandra is Vice-Chair of the National Open College Network; a non-executive Director of Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust; an Emeritus Professor at the University of Cumbria. Her son works for KPMG, London.

Tim Mitchell. Tim is a Director of McLintocks, Wrexham; a Director of the recently formed North Wales Crusaders Rugby League team, based at Glyndwr University Racecourse Stadium; the Hon Sec of the Chester and North Wales Society of Chartered Accountants.

Askar Sheibani. A Director of Deeside Business Forum Ltd; Group CEO Comtek Network Systems Ltd; a member of the Alyn and Deeside Constituency Labour Party.

Dr Colin Stuhlfelder. Colin is a Senior Lecturer in the Built Environment at Glyndwr University. He is also a Board member of Riverside Mersey North Housing Provider.

Emma Perrin. Emma’s spouse works at Airbus Operations at Broughton. Trefor’s former employers.

Well, there we have it. Perhaps I ought to open a competition for readers to see who can spot the highest number of conflicts of interest among that lot – before anyone does yet more research on the organisations that I’ve mentioned. The over-riding impression is of a group of people many of whom have worked for or with Trefor Jones or are involved in charitable causes or local authorities with which he has connections and who are in a position to do favours for or benefit from Glyndwr University. Many of whom are involved in the criminal justice system, which must be a dream for the paedophiles’ friends who are still cluttering up the region.

One further point about the organs of government at Glyndwr University. They have a senior member of staff, James Dawson – who has a famous brother-in-law. Dawson’s brother-in-law is John McTernan, the Rottweiler and former Director of Political Operations for Tony Blair! I have blogged about how Dawson left his previous job at Bangor University under a cloud after trying to steal a number of computers. One of which was mine, with lots and lots of info on it concerning the wrongdoing of the north Wales mental health services and how Blair’s Gov’t was keeping that as well as many other mental health scandals quiet (see post ‘When Showbiz Meets Politics’).

Having had a taste of what Trefor Jones got up to in his roles as Lord Lieutenant and Chancellor of Glyndwr University, I thought that I’d check out what might have been going on at St Kentigerns Hospice, where he was Chairman until literally a few days ago. I prioritised identifying who are Trustees and Patrons.

Trustees include:

Lady Susan Langford, the President. I have provided details re Susan earlier.

Judy Owen, Treasurer. That’s the Judy described earlier – who used to work as the accountant for Trefor’s company and then worked as the finance director for the dodgy Euro DPC.

Professor Mari Lloyd Williams. Mari is a Top Doctor specialising in palliative care who works at the University of Liverpool North West Cancer Centre. She has served on the fitness to practice and professional conduct committees of the GMC; on the HEFCW (Higher Education Funding Council for Wales) and UKHEAC committees 2006-12; was appointed by the Welsh Assembly Gov’t to the Review of Governance in HE in Wales; was a member of the Advisory Group under Chair Sir Adrian Webb into the Future of Higher Education in North East Wales; Chairs the Tenovus Cancer Charity Psychosocial Grants Committee. With all those connections to healthcare research and HE, presumably Mari could help Glyndwr University out if she wanted to. She’s also been in a position to decide what fate should befall the dreadful Top Doctors of north Wales should the GMC ever decide to place any of them in front of a Tribunal.

David Gozzard. David is a retired Consultant Haematologist from Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, a position that he achieved in 1988. He was Clinical Director of Pathology and was Medical Director of the Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust – Trefor was Vice-Chairman! After the Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust evolved into the North Wales NHS Trust – yet another reorganisation in a desperate attempt to stop the regional NHS killing people and it’s staff/managers siphoning off NHS funds – David became Medical Director of the new organisation. David was also Chair of the North Wales Medical Committee 2001-04.

Having been Clinical Director of Pathology in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, David might be able to clear up a long-standing puzzle. In the summer of 1991 I had one of my many Bizarre Experiences. I had moved back to north Wales to live and I applied for a job in the path labs of Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. I was called for interview and faced a panel of three people. One man was someone from IT who was obviously the brightest on the panel but was the most junior in the hierarchy in terms of jobs, the other was a senior person from the lab staff – could it have been David Gozzard? – and the other was a most extraordinary man, even by the standards of north Wales, a Top Doctor called Binns-Smith. I should have realised that I was in for a fun time, because before I was called in for the interview I was sat in a waiting area near to some workmen who were working on the ceiling. An enormous man with a huge belly, no jacket, open-necked shirt and no tie emerged from an office nearby and started bellowing at the men working on the ceiling, hurling insults about the ‘average British workman’ no less. I presumed that he must have been their foreman, particularly as he was in possession of the stereotypical builder’s bum as his trousers started to descend whilst he yelled at the workmen. Then I noticed that not only were his trousers descending, but his flies were undone so in total quite an expanse of ancient white Y fronts were on display. He turned to me and asked if I was waiting for interview – this man it transpired was Dr Binns-Smith, head of pathology ay Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

I followed Binns-Smith into the interview room with him still bellowing about British workmen. As I sat down, one of the others on the ‘panel’ gave me a very strained smile and simply said ‘portent’. Binns-Smith didn’t respond, but then introduced me to the IT man, making a joke about him being so lowly in the workforce but of course ‘everybody calls him the boss’. Binns-Smith commented that he had noted from my CV that I had a postgrad degree from and had worked in the London medical schools. He then launched into a rant about how his son had applied for a place in the London medical schools but had been rejected by all of them and the trouble was that medical schools were full of ‘cabbage patch socialism’ (whatever that is) and that his son’s teachers had advised him to apply for other courses after clearing but he wasn’t having his son doing an ‘arty farty’ course. This man was clearly both mad and offensive and was obviously embarrassing the other ‘interviewers’ who sat there without saying a word. I did wonder what his son was like – could he perhaps actually keep his trousers up, unlike his father? Was he as obnoxious as dad, or was he truly oppressed, having been told by his father to apply for medicine when he wasn’t able to gain the high grades needed? After about ten minutes of this, I decided that I really didn’t want to work for this lunatic, so I told Binns-Smith that I was leaving. As I walked out, I heard him bellowing at the other two men ‘gentlemen, this interview is over’. I expected the mother of all insulting letters afterwards, but I never heard another thing. I asked around, but no-one I knew was acquainted with Binns-Smith. Unlike Dafydd who regularly hit the media, I never saw any references to Binns-Smith in the local papers either. I have tried googling him since then, but nothing. Some years after my encounter with him, I did of course start hearing stories that Ysbyty Glan Clwyd was every bit as dangerous, corrupt and mismanaged as Ysbyty Gwynedd and that people were being misdiagnosed and dying when they shouldn’t have been. In the light of who was running their pathology dept I cannot say that I was surprised. Binns-Smith wasn’t the average British workman but he was only marginally worse than the average north Wales Top Doctor. If David Gozzard gets to read this blog and fancies meeting up, I’d dearly love to hear the many anecdotes that I know will have circulated around Ysbyty Glan Clwyd about that man.

St Kentigerns Hospice has a number of Patrons, one of whom is Colonel Lord Geoffrey Langford, Susan’s husband!  Lord Langford was identified as being 100 years old in an article about him a few years ago, so I’d be surprised if he was still alive. He spent his career in the British Army and inherited the family seat at Rhuddlan from a member of his extended family who had died without children. He married a number of times, the last time in 1975 to Susan. Who was then Susan Denham from Wrexham. I presume that Susan is quite a bit younger than Colonel Lord. Colonel Lord’s heir was listed as being his son, Owain Grenville Rowley-Conwy, who married a Joanna Featherstone. I presume that Owain is now Lord Langley. I note that after Trefor Jones finished his stint as Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd, the next Lord Lieutenant was someone Featherstone. It just has to be one of Joanna’s relatives doesn’t it.

One recent media article reporting that Trefor Jones was standing down as Chair of St Kentigerns after seven years mentioned that St Kentigerns was ‘saved’ solely by Trefor a few years ago when it faced bankruptcy. There were no details of how Trefor raised the money needed to save it – which will have been considerable. Trefor won’t have had it in his piggy bank. Perhaps Judy Owens – the Treasurer of St Kentigens, the former accountant of Trefor’s company and the former finance director of Euro DPC – might like to tell us.

I’m going to terrify readers a bit more now. Whilst I was searching for info on Trefor – I’ve only carried out a very brief search, God knows how much else I’d find if I spent a few days on it – I cam across Trefor’s name in Hansard no less. Trefor’s name appears in a document that was prepared in March 2008 and submitted to the Welsh Affairs Committee when the Committee were considering the provision of cross-border health services for Wales. The document is entitled ‘Memorandum Submitted By Huw Thomas And Colleagues’ beneath which are the words ‘submission from a group of retired people who have played a prominent role in the NHS and public life in North Wales’. The document is a lengthy, furious response to the proposals by Edwina Hart, the then Minister for Health, to redirect elective neurosurgery patients away from The Walton Centre in Liverpool to the Morriston Hospital in Swansea. I hadn’t seen this document before, but I remember that row very well. It happened as the Top Doctors and their associates in north Wales were doing their utmost to bring Edwina down. They really loathed her. The charge from the GPs was led by Dr Eamonn Jessup, who at the time was displaying a Facebook group on his Facebook page entitled ‘higher pay for doctors’. Dr Richard Tranter, lately of the Hergest Unit, was telling his patients that Edwina wanted patients referred to the Morriston because it was near her constituency. Tranter was also telling his patients to write to their AMs and MPs to complain about the NHS. Did Tranter ever tell patients to do this some years previously when the Hergest Unit were framing patients who had complained and presided over one of the highest suicide rates in the UK? No, he only did it when the Top Doctors began their co-ordinated campaign against Edwina.

The ‘memorandum’ bangs on at great length, presenting what it believes is a clinical case for continuing to refer patients to The Walton Centre. I note that the memorandum isn’t only fighting on behalf of The Walton Centre – it is also angrily maintaining that patients should not be referred to Cardiff and that referrals from north Wales should continue to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Broadgreen Cardio-Thoracic Centre, Manchester Royal Infirmary Cardiac Centre and Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Gobowen (spinal injuries and specialist orthopaedics).

Now there are a great many arguments for and against sending patients from north Wales to either the north west of England or to Cardiff or Swansea for complex specialist treatment. But what I’m interested in is who signed that ‘memorandum’ along with Trefor. Because I recognised a lot of those names. Many of them are names that can be found on the early medical records of mine that my lawyer had to go to the High Court to extract. They are the names of people whom I had never met and in many cases whom I did not know existed – but they were all part of the effort to have me either banged up in a secure hospital on the grounds of my ‘dangerousness’ which was predicated entirely on statements made by Dr Dafydd Alun Jones and Dr Tony Francis (Dr X) which they knew were untrue, or prosecuted for offences which they knew that I had not committed. Many of the names were also advising on how not to investigate my complaints concerning the criminal activities of Dr Dafydd Alun Jones, Dr Tony Francis and the staff of Gwynedd Social Services. Francis, Jones and Gwynedd Social Services were at the time facilitating and concealing the paedophile ring. I also recognised some of the names from archive material dating from the late 80s – they were the names of the people who were running Gwynedd Health Authority so badly that the Health Authority was bankrupt, the Welsh Office had sent a hit squad in and David Hunt, the Secretary of State for Wales, was writing letters to them himself.

The following names were the names that I recognised:

Dr Cedric Davies, former Director of Public Health Medicine, Gwynedd Health Authority. Cedric was on very chummy terms with Tony Francis and was part of a plot to incarcerate me in the Caswell Clinic in south Wales – although I was living and working in London.

Noreen Edwards, former Chairman of Gwynedd Health Authority. Noreen was cc’d into most letters about me. David Hunt wrote to Noreen Edwards regarding the ‘crisis’ in Gwynedd Health Authority – which had been caused by her and her mates.

Professor Robert Owen, former Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital Gobowen and Professor of Orthopaedics at Liverpool University. Robert Owen was the Medical Ombudsman for the Welsh Office who organised the cover-up led by Professor Robert Bluglass after I complained about the criminal conduct of Dafydd et al (see post ‘Enter Professor Robert Bluglass CBE’). I now have documents demonstrating that doctors who were not part of my complaint and whom I was no longer being ‘treated’ by were communicating with Robert Owen without my knowledge, outside the parameters of the ‘investigation’ and were communicating with him about this at his home in Colwyn Bay. (By the way on an earlier post I stated that Robert Owen was a surgeon and prof at Cardiff – I had always presumed that, because I met him in Cardiff and of course the letters from him had a Cardiff address on them, although it was obviously the Welsh Office’s address. The info in this post concerning Owen’s affiliations to Liverpool University and the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital was supplied by Owen himself in the ‘memorandum’.)

Dr David Roberts, former Consultant in Public Health Medicine, Gwynedd Health Authority. David Roberts was cc’d into letters about me.

Hilary Stevens, former Chairman, Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust. I used to see Hilary in action when she was a member of the Betsi Board when the Betsi was first formed. She certainly wasn’t as mad or as obnoxious as many of those we know and love, but Hilary obviously didn’t have a grip on the Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust. Was this because Hilary was a normal human being who was unable to control a load of criminals, some of whom had concealed a paedophile ring? Or was Hilary a smiling devil with better social skills than the rest of them?

Professor Eric Sunderland, former Vice-Chancellor of Bangor University and Lord Lieutenant of Gwynedd. Professor Sunderland always struck me as being very establishment but not barking mad or corrupt. But he did run a University full of the paedophiles’ friends with Gwynne the lobotomist working in the Student Health Centre. Perhaps Eric was someone else who was surrounded by monsters whom he couldn’t control. Either way, he can’t have been completely Of Them because he never received a knighthood. Which everybody expected him to. I was told that Eric and his wife were deeply hurt by this lack of recognition and that Professor Sunderland Not Being Given A K was another north Wales conundrum. He should have taken it as a compliment – he obviously wasn’t friendly enough with the paedophiles’ friends. And if he’d been a child molester himself, he’d have been given a peerage and admitted into the highest echelons, along with Greville Janner.

Huw Thomas, former Chief Executive of Gwynedd Health Authority. Huw wrote me inane – and in the end rude – letters and failed to investigate the most serious of complaints. He was also writing the paedophiles’ friends letters about me – he was much friendlier to them than he was to me. Huw was Chief Exec of Gwynedd Health Authority at the time of the ‘crisis’ when David Hunt had words with Noreen.

The signatures of people unknown to me are:

Dr Pat Barry, former Consultant Anaesthetist, Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Mr Michael Crumplin, former Consultant Surgeon, Ysbyty Maelor.

Mr Chris Davies, former Consultant Surgeon, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

Dr Harry Edwards, former Consultant Anaesthetist, Ysbyty Gwynedd, Chair of Welsh Medical Committee.

Dr Ellen Emslie, former Consultant Dermatologist, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

Annwen Carey Evans, former High Sheriff, Gwynedd.

D.B. Carey Evans (no position given – presumably a nobody who was simply related to the High Sheriff, which was obviously quite enough to turn them into a somebody.)

Elizabeth Colwyn Foulkes.

Sir William Gladstone, former Lord Lieutenant of Clwyd.

Dr Jeffrey Green, former Consultant Cardiologist, Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Michael Griffiths, former Chairman, Clwyd Health Authority and Chairman, Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust.

Dr Idris Humphries, former GP and Chairman of Welsh General Medical Service’s Committee.

Mr O.M. Jonathon, former Consultant Surgeon, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

Professor David Jones, former Chief Nursing Officer, Gwynedd Health Authority and Professor of Nursing, Sheffield University.

Mr David Jones, former Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Ysbyty Gwynedd and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, London.

Dorothy Keddie, former Assistant Director of Nursing, North Wales Health Authority.

Mr Hywel Oliver, former Consultant Surgeon, Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Bill Owen, former Director of Finance, Gwynedd Health Authority.

Dr J. Gwyn Thomas, former GP and Chairman of Welsh Branch of Royal College of General Practitioners and Provost of Merseyside and North Wales Faculty of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Dr Mari Thomas, former GP and Chairman of MENCAP Wales.

I do not know the above named, but I know from the positions that they were so proud to have held that they, variously, bankrupted a Health Authority, worked as leading Top Doctors in hospitals with appalling track records where serious mistakes were made which led to patients being maimed or killed, worked in a region where learning disabled people lived in dreadful conditions and were referred to as ‘cabbages’ by the managers of the ‘services’ supposedly caring for them, obstructed any attempts to improve services and declared all out war on patients who dared complain.

All of this lot who signed the ‘memorandum’ knew that terrible things were happening in the surgical depts of the local hospitals. They probably knew that the paediatrics dept of Ysbyty Gwynedd had such a dreadful reputation that there was an arrangement among local doctors that their own children would not be admitted there. Many of this lot also knew that there was a madman running the region’s psychiatric hospital, that he was sexually exploiting patients, that he was unlawfully incarcerating anyone who crossed the path of him or his criminal associates – of which there were many – and that some of those illegally incarcerated were literally never seen again. Oh and a lot of them will have known that a paedophile gang was operating in the children’s homes and that when the kids weren’t being beaten, starved or forced to work as free labour, they were being raped and buggered. This motley crew destroyed the fabric of north Wales – how did they believe that they had the right to send this foolish rubbish to Parliament and demand that they be listened to?

So why were this bunch of moribund old gits so desperate to get rid of Edwina and continue to send patients to hospitals where they had connections? Was it that they feared losing control of the vice-like grip that they had over the region and  – as with the employment of new staff from elsewhere  – they dreaded anyone uncovering evidence pointing to what they had done? Myself, I keep pondering on a truly nightmare scenario. I witnessed patients who were undoubtedly left to die after complaining about this shower – it was very obviously supposed to have happened to me as well. A number of us who refused to keep quiet have existed for years whilst being completely unable to access ANY medical treatment for any medical problem, no matter how painful or life threatening. We have found vicious rumours spread around the region about us and we found ourselves turfed out of jobs in bizarre circumstances. When we investigated, a member of the Cylch was always involved. People with businesses found themselves going out of business, even if they had previously been highly successful.

Some years ago, just before this almighty row erupted between Edwina and the paedophiles’ friends which hinged upon The Walton Centre, I knew of two people in north Wales who both developed brain tumours at about the same time. One was married to someone who was known to have had a bellyful of the paedophiles’ friends and would dearly have liked to see them brought down. The paedophiles’ friends themselves were doing everything that they could to shaft this person. The other person was a former social worker who had worked in this role when the paedophile gang were on the loose and undoubtedly knew what was happening. Both of these people were referred to Walton. The former social worker was operated on, made a slow but good recovery and still socialises with the paedophiles’ friends in retirement. The spouse of the person who was being targeted by the paedophiles’ friends was told that their tumour was inoperable and they subsequently died. Maybe that tumour was inoperable – but how would anyone ever know? I was told many things for many years – but once my lawyer obtained my medical records I discovered criminal conduct that shocked even me, I discovered that Top Doctors whom I always rated as being better than their colleagues and whom I liked and thought that I got on with well were ruthlessly using the fact that I trusted them to extract information about me and even people close to me in order to do as much damage to us as they could. I also found that the only two people who had actually dared stick their necks out to protect me had lost their jobs within months – after one was prosecuted and convicted of an indecent assault.

These people were involved in serious organised crime for years. And Edwina Hart knew all about – because I told her what was happening to me, as did a few other people. No wonder she wanted to put these fuckers out of action and stop them referring patients to their mates.

So to all the relatives of the people that they killed – have this blog as a free gift. I’ll name every single person whom I know was involved. Even those who spent time supping with HM the Queen. In fact, particularly those who spent time supping with HM the Queen.

The story dominating the news reports on the radio today has been the announcement that Alison Saunders (the DPP) is ordering the CPS to  prosecute trolls who send hate mail to others on social media. Female MPs in particular are waxing lyrical about this and Luciana Berger has been wheeled out on every news bulletin to tell us all how many nasty messages she gets and how they affected her mental health. I know that public figures -especially women – can be targeted by some deeply unpleasant people. Jess Phillips went public months ago on some of the online messages that she was receiving and read a few of them out – graphic descriptions of the various sexual tortures to which these sad bastards wanted to subject her. It is deeply, deeply unpleasant and it is not acceptable. But just look at what those we know and love have got away with and Alison Saunders and previous DPPs did nothing. In spite of the fact that back in the 90s, thousands and thousands of witness statements were taken and hundreds of people were identified as having abused children in care in north Wales. As for Luciana and her mental health – at one point Luciana was Jeremy Corbyn’s spokesperson on mental health. I was seriously underwhelmed by her complete failure to speak out about what actually happens to people in the mental health system. They die Luciana. Particularly if they have grown up in care and start talking about what happened to them.

There would seem to be many vampires in north Wales, particularly at Glyndwr University. But Dr Emyr Williams is not one of them. Emyr is a high achieving academic, someone who does not put himself first constantly and is a man of integrity. What on earth would north Wales want with one of them, it is hardly surprising that the writs are flying and the Daily Post is in overdrive.

Yesterday’s Betsi Board Meeting – March 17 2017

As promised (please see blog post ‘A Truly Splendid Letter From The CEO And The Chairman Of The Betsi’) I attended yesterday’s meeting of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, despite Gary the CEO and Peter the Chair’s silly letter objecting to the way in which I report these meetings on my blog. So here’s the latest review of at least part of the meeting – as usual I couldn’t bear any more than about two hours worth of these wallies, so I left just before noon. I understand that the meeting continued for sometime after this, so apologies to the Betsi Board if they suddenly geared up immediately after I left and presented detailed plans as to how they were going to extract themselves from the millions pounds worth of debt that they are currently in and prevent the ongoing slaughter of vulnerable people.

I was interested to see that Martin Jones (Director of Workforce and Operational Development) was present at the meeting, I have been missing Martin because he hasn’t appeared in public for a while. I’m glad that he’s back though, presumably someone suggested that he ought to be at least pretending to be making an effort in return for his protected salary of approx. £130,000 pa. Jo Rycroft-Malone (the Board’s Bangor University Rep) has also reappeared after last month’s absence and was having a cosy girly chat with Lyn Meadows (Independent Board Member). These two are prone to this, at a previous meeting Jo was standing protectively behind the dreadful Lyn, stroking her arms. I hate to think what is being cooked up between the two of them – Meadows was previously employed as HR Director at Bangor University and was memorably described to me by one person who had been on the receiving end of her as an ‘evil bitch’. Which was certainly interesting because exactly the same phrase was used to describe her by a member of staff at the Welsh Ambulance Service when Meadows was employed as a manager there. The phrase ‘evil bitch’ is obviously one that springs to mind after meeting Lyn. Rycroft-Malone is the former Head of the School of Healthcare Sciences at Bangor University and is now Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research there – Jo has in the past of course found herself in receipt of research funds from the Betsi as detailed previously on this blog. I’ve never heard anyone describe her as an ‘evil bitch’ per se, but I did hear allegations of serious bullying of students, racism and plagiarism levelled against her. I also had sight of a document that indicated that Jo had done some very interesting things with a research budget after a researcher walked out of a project before it had ended. Presumably by the time of the next Board meeting, Jo and Lyn will have progressed on to a ‘group hug’ in the carefully stage-managed manner of Leanne Wood, Nicola Sturgeon and Natalie Bennet during the last general election campaign. Women do things differently!

The meeting was late starting because there seemed to be a certain amount of disarray in the room, but eventually Jo and Lyn managed to prise themselves away from each other, everyone took their seats and Peter Higson (Chairman) began with a Piece of Good News. The Betsi has won an award! (Of course the Betsi announced that it had won another award earlier this week, but that turned out not to be all it seemed – please see blog post ‘How Did These Two Events Ever Happen?’). Anyway, the Betsi has been named in the Stonewall Top 100 Organisations for the ‘inclusion of diverse people’. Now I’m not sure how the Betsi has managed to achieve this. I know for a fact that Dr Alberto Salmoiraghi, the one good psychiatrist that they have at the Betsi, has been subjected to racism from ‘colleagues’ because he dares to be Italian. I know of one student nurse from Rycroft-Malone’s School of Healthcare Sciences at Bangor University, whilst Rycroft-Malone was Head of School, who was subjected to vicious work-place bullying during his time on placement at the Hergest Unit because he was gay. And I also know of two overseas medical professionals who went to work on projects in Rycroft-Malone’s School, again whilst she was Head, who were both subjected to naked bigotry. One man was so unpopular among his ‘colleagues’ there – on the grounds that he ‘stank’ and ‘couldn’t speak English properly’ – that there was an arrangement to prevent him gaining access to the building by failing to give him the new code to the door-lock. I was told by a witness to all this that the person who dreamt up this particular solution to the problems that Johnny Foreigner was causing was one Jo Rycroft-Malone. I also heard at first-hand from a lady from Kazakhstan who had the misfortune to work there that every time she told someone where she was from, people would start laughing and say ‘ooh like Borat’. She asked me what they meant – I didn’t actually tell her that those particular ignoramuses being ‘managed’ by Jo were referring to an offensive racist parody of someone from Kazakhstan by a British comedian. I can reveal the experiences of these people now because they have waved good-bye to the School of Healthcare Sciences and were probably very glad to have done so.

So the Betsi is now a Diversity Champion. To celebrate this ‘award’, all the Board members were presented with ‘rainbow lanyards’ to hang around their necks. Some of them did so but not everyone entered into the spirit of things and a lot of the lanyards were simply dumped upon the desks in front of them. So someone – presumably at Stonewall – wasted time and money manufacturing those lanyards and distributing them to the Racist In Chief and her colleagues on the Board. Nevertheless, Higson was delighted with this achievement and led the Board in a round of applause for themselves. (Whilst Higson was doing this, the Daily Post was reporting on two more Betsi-related deaths – please see blog post ‘Two More Deaths, March 16 2017’.)

Higson then welcomed everyone to the meeting and by means of introduction to the first topic said ‘we go straight into special measures’. Which must have been some sort of Freudian slip, because within a few months of Higson ‘taking control’ at the Betsi, they did indeed go straight into special measures. So they started discussing various aspects of special measures, which weren’t explained to the uninitiated observing members of the public like me, but as far as I could work out Gary the CEO had started a conversation regarding ‘Phase 2 milestones’. I presume that this is a reference to the ‘achievements’ that the Welsh Govt wants to see. Margaret Hanson (Vice-Chair) explained that they were still waiting for ‘formal feedback’ and regarding the ‘journey’ of the Betsi Board to come out of special measures, ‘progress was still being made’, although Margaret stated that they were at a ‘little bit of a loss’ as to their ‘progress’. Margaret I think that rather than being at a little bit of a loss, you are all completely clueless – one only has to read the local media to get some idea of the stream of avoidable deaths, scandals and general cock-ups happening in your organisation on a near daily basis to realise that.

Bethan Russell Williams (Independent Board Member, although deeply compromised because she’s married to the Chair of Gwynedd Community Health Council and manages a Third Sector organisation that receives funding from the Betsi), mentioned that there was ‘evidence of great progress’ in the maternity services. (The maternity services at the Betsi were so dysfunctional that part of the mentoring to which they have been subjected was categorised as achieving ‘normality’.) But Margaret had a word of warning – that they must not ‘mark their own homework’. The NHS in north Wales have of course been marking their own homework for years, that is how they ended up in this mess. Complaints were concealed, both by the Trusts that preceded the Betsi and by Higson during the years that he was CEO of Health Inspectorate Wales (HIW). They cooked the books, fiddled the stats and the whole lot of them claimed to be providing ‘excellence’. The reality was that north Wales had dreadful mortality figures and some of the poorest health outcomes in the UK. I suspect that despite Margaret’s warning, they are still marking their own homework – I noted that the fantastic ‘progress’ reported in the press recently regarding Fali Ward was simply an opinion proffered by the Betsi itself, there was no reference to an external assessment (please see blog post ‘Exactly How Bad Was Fali Ward?’).

The Rebel Member, Phil Edwards,  stated that they didn’t just need a verbal update on special measures, ‘we need evidence on paper’. (I’ve got plenty of evidence on paper Phil – evidence of thirty years of criminal activity and wrongdoing…)

Gary the CEO referred to special measures as being a ‘big question’, mentioning the ‘very wide-ranging areas’ that are under scrutiny. (Just about all activities of the Board as far as I can see.) He has noticed that with regard to the mental health services ‘we have a lot of work to get done…we are making good progress…our special measures challenge is the trust and confidence of many people’. Well there are suicides and suspicious deaths as well as a scandal most weeks, so I don’t think Betsi is quite there yet where the ‘trust and confidence of many people’ is concerned.

At this point Higson asked the Board for any declarations of interest. There were none, as usual – although this Board is packed with people who seem to have numerous conflicts of interest (please see blog post ‘Conflicts Of Interest – And Some Very Big Salaries’). The Board then started going through the minutes of the previous meeting.

Marian Wyn Jones (Independent Board Member) drew attention to the Finance Committee receiving approval for the business plan to develop the A&E Dept at Ysbyty Gwynedd. Marian claimed that this will be a ‘great boost’ to the economy in north west Wales. I’m not sure how that works actually – that hospital in a way is sucking the life out of north west Wales. It is receiving huge amounts of Welsh Gov’t money whilst offering a dreadful service. The local politicians dare not say a word about the appalling ‘care’ and malpractice because it is a major employer and one of the few places in Gwynedd that provides well-paid long-term jobs. The staff there really don’t want to join the ranks of most of the rest of the folk in Gwynedd, on incomes made up of low-paid work and benefits, so they lobby furiously to make damn sure that Hywel Williams MP and Sian Gwenllian AM toe the line. It is a rather unhealthy symbiotic relationship. Gary complained about the layout of the A&E Dept at Ysbyty Gwynedd and said that ‘the quality of the building is not what you would want’. Actually Gary, the quality of the staff is not what you would want – please read blog post ‘Two Dangerous Very Dishonest Nurses’ for an account of the conduct of staff at the A&E Dept at Ysbyty Gwynedd. I am not the only person who has had such experiences. Gary did however observe that it was ‘great’ that this bunch of liars and thugs who abuse their patients are going to be given a new building in which to do so.

Bobby Feely (Independent Board Member) drew attention to the shortcomings in the mandatory training in infection control at the Betsi – she was worried ‘about our standing in Wales’. This does rather smack of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, their standing in Wales could not be lower. Marian commented that the level of mandatory training in infection control was ‘down from last year’. Of course the hospitals in north Wales have a long tradition of being rife with infection but not actually telling anyone lest it affects their ‘reputation’. Or indeed their standing in Wales. Please see blog post ‘The Tip Of Yet Another Iceberg?’ for further details of the state of hygiene in units run by the Betsi and some of their rather novel ideas to remedy the problem. Margaret mentioned that they’ll be ‘keeping the pressure on’ regarding training an infection prevention. We’ll expect some more bad news media stories soon then.

Margaret then moved on to a topic central to this blog – matters relating to the mental health services. She stated that assurances had been provided to the Board’s Mental Health Act Committee that there have been improvements in the assessment of young people, ‘but we’re not there yet’. Margaret finds herself making this statement at most Board meetings. However they are ‘in a much better place’ and their duties under the Mental Health Act are being fulfilled. I’d carry out an intensive search of the Heddfan Unit if I were you Margaret, perish the thought that there might be someone in there who has been sectioned for months by Raj Sambhi because they have complained that there is neglect and abuse in the mental health services and that a paedophile ring used to operate in the region…Margaret mentioned that there is a shortage of Section 12 doctors and that they need to look at why that is. I’ll tell you why it is Margaret. It is because for years senior posts in the north Wales mental health services have been log-jammed by the likes of Dafydd Alun Jones, Marie Savage, Tony Roberts, Raj Sambhi et al and no-one wants to work with these vicious, corrupt, dysfunctional people who are exterminating their patients. Indeed, the one good psychiatrist that you have got has been given a really bad time by them – and other psychiatrists who have unsuspectingly taken up posts here have walked away after a matter of weeks, horrified by what they have discovered happening. Margaret mentioned the possibility of ‘getting more GPs on board’ – she’ll find the same problem. The good GPs will not work with that shower – I knew of a number of GPs in Gwynedd who loathed David Healy and Tony Roberts, because Healy and Roberts were just so unhelpful when those GPs tried to refer patients to them. The GPs viewed Roberts and Healy as frankly negligent. And just to chuck a further spanner in the works, Healy and his protégé Richard Tranter – who left for New Zealand in a hurry when people started discovering what he was up to – were busy on Healy’s blog blaming the dysfunction, chaos and cruelty in the mental health services on everyone but themselves, advising other people not to work at the Betsi. I can heartily recommend any patients who have experienced the insanity of the Hergest Unit to read the piece on Healy’s blog entitled ‘Richard’s Story’, it’s a real tear-jerker. The tale of a Hergest Unit that attracted Nobel prize winners no less (yes, honestly, that is one of the claims made), that provided excellent care for patients, that was an innovative unit providing the best care in the UK until that wicked witch Mary Burrows came along – except that it’s all a pack of lies, about as honest as the ‘research’ that was being carried out by those we know and love in the mental health services.

The Board then held a long discussion about Wales’s ‘Wellbeing of Future Generations Act’. This Act is providing a very useful smokescreen for the state of the public services in Wales. Like a lot of things emanating from the Welsh Govt, the idea is good but it cannot actually work because our public services are so troubled. I have two friends in England who are very starry-eyed about this Act and are of the opinion that the Welsh Govt are leading the way. But how can one even begin to talk about the well-being of future generations when we have a health and welfare sector riddled with corruption and malpractice?

There were some prize contributions to this discussion from Board members. Rycroft-Malone claimed that ‘we in the university…are trying to pay attention to it…giving consistent messages about what we expect from students in training…’ The main ‘messages’ those students get from you Jo is that you have a very big problem with overseas students and colleagues and that if students witness malpractice on placement there’s no point reporting it because it usually won’t be dealt with. Margaret commented that it wasn’t just a matter of box-ticking, it was adopting a ‘hearts and minds’ approach. In view of the various catastrophes occurring in that Health Board I think it’s rather a matter of ‘shock and awe’ than ‘hearts and minds’. Then came Lyn’s contribution – the ‘evil bitch’ adopted her best old lady from Liverpool manner and asked ‘are we aware or do we have a measure of how our staff understand the legislation?’ Which was particularly rich coming from a woman who, in her capacity as Director of HR at Bangor University, bent the rules so often and to such a degree and showed such an ignorance of all relevant legislation regarding bullying, harassment and discrimination that most of us wondered whether she really did have a law degree as she claimed. Geoff Lang (Executive Director of Strategy) wisely stated that if a straw poll was carried out, the staff probably understood ‘very little’ regarding the legislation. I have sympathy with the staff on this point – if they’re any good, they’ll be so busy trying to care for patients in the midst of chaos, dysfunction and aggressive management that considering esoteric legislation will be the least of their concerns. Peter Higson suggested that an online survey be e mailed to all staff  – they’re going to love you for that Peter, you’re already running an organisation full of staff going off sick with stress and depression who are consistently reporting burn-out and bullying from managers… Bethan then chipped in with the extraordinary comment that ‘a lot of agencies in the Third Sector’ that are commissioned by the Health Board are ‘achieving a great deal’. So who do you have in mind then Bethan – CAIS and MIND perhaps, who seem to be running some of the biggest scams imaginable, as previously described on the blog? Bethan stressed the importance of ‘monitoring’ these Third Sector organisations – I wish someone would, including Mantell Gwynedd, the Third Sector organisation that Bethan herself runs, some of us have wondered for years what services they are providing and to whom. Bethan stated that the sums involved in commissioning these organisations are ‘small’ – this blog has described how CAIS has recently received £1.5 million for ‘service user/carer involvement’ and nearly £5 million for ‘substance abuse services’ (which CAIS are very obviously not delivering on). £6.5 million might be cat’s piss to you Bethan, but if the Board gave that money to me I bet I could do a better job than CAIS. Bethan maintained that ‘a lot of the Third Sector bodies are measuring social value and doing it in quite a sophisticated way’. Is this Third Sector speak for ‘we are visibly not making a blind bit of difference, so we’re going to pretend that our critics are too daft to understand our ‘sophisticated’ ways of measuring ‘social value’? Meanwhile CAIS will continue to rake in millions for providing shelter and detox services, whilst towns like Wrexham fill up with homeless drug users. And from what people contacting this blog are reporting, no-one is actually managing to get a service out of ‘Parabl’, aptly described by one reader as ‘the love-child of MIND and CAIS’.

Gary the CEO gave a little spiel about all the e mails and letters that he receives ‘every week’ no less from patients bowled over by the Betsi. Presumably he just ignores the e mails – such as mine – who tell him when things are going dreadfully wrong. He also mentioned the ‘nutrition and hydration’ week, which featured on this blog recently, one of the ‘events’ involved being a ‘multi-disciplinary team’ of senior staff who were going to observe a ‘service user meal experience’ – translated this means that a collection of managers were actually going to watch someone eat their dinner. Lest anyone ever thought that even the Betsi couldn’t possibly do this, I’m glad to say that they did. Gary reported back to the Board and mentioned that ‘I appeared out of the blue, people didn’t know about it, they were surprised’. I imagine they were completely gobsmacked Gary, you’re paid something like £200,000 pa and you’re watching someone eat their pudding. Gary then moved onto other matters such as infection control and storage of medicines and commented that there are ‘other Boards doing better than us’. That’s why you’re in special measures Gary.

Then Martin spoke. This was certainly illuminating to someone like me who has some knowledge of how Martin conducted business in his previous incarnation as CEO of the North West Wales NHS Trust. The fact that Edwina Hart felt obliged to abolish that organisation and undertake a massive rebranding exercise in the (vain) hope that we’d all forget what happened there, hasn’t however prompted any inner reflection on the part of Martin. Martin started talking about staff performance. This is the man who literally terrorised staff at the North West Wales NHS Trust, the man who removed the beds from junior doctors rest rooms because he wasn’t going to pay them to lie down – even though these were junior doctors who were working extremely long shifts – and of course the man who was part of the management Board of a Trust that achieved fame when they purchased custom-made crockery for many thousands of pounds embossed with the Trusts ‘logo’, for their personal use. Meanwhile patients died – in great numbers. Martin hasn’t changed. He opened with the phrase ‘MY staff’, with the emphasis on the ‘my’. Not ‘our team’, but ‘MY staff’. They are not your staff Martin, you all work for the NHS. But this was characteristic of managers in the North West Wales NHS Trust. Their risk manager, John Bowles, actually used to refer to ‘my subordinates’. Martin then unveiled his latest Regime of Terror. After mentioning ‘staff health’ and stating that there’s a lot that can be done to ‘help staff adjust’ and build ‘resilience’ (resilience to Martin’s aggression, that’ll take some building), Martin stated that he was going to ‘discuss with people how they are progressing’. God, can you imagine what that will entail. Martin explained that there was going to be ‘an increase in the number of training days’ and that this ‘will result in staff being excluded without pay if they fail to attend’. Now I heard the details of the ‘training’ that was ‘offered’ at the North West Wales Trust when Martin was CEO. The staff were seething, because they maintained that it was very obviously not ‘training’ at all, it was always a tick-box exercise on a computer that trained no-one in anything and furthermore everyone maintained that there was only one purpose to this ‘training’ – so that in the event of complaint, litigation or even tragedy, Martin could maintain that the staff had been ‘trained’ and that member of staff would therefore be deemed fully responsible and would be hung out to dry by Martin in order to protect the wider organisation and of course Martin himself, from scrutiny. Furthermore I was told that because there were many more staff required to do the ‘training’ than computers available for use, it was often impossible to complete the training. These were of course the same computers that staff had to use for clinical work, to update patients records etc. I was told that the ‘training’ was sending the Trust into chaos and preventing people from seeing their patients. And Martin is doing it all over again – this time accompanied by a threat to withdraw pay (would that even be legal?). The Betsi Board recently hit the headlines when it was revealed that staff were refusing to co-operate with the external investigation into the Tawel Fan scandal, in which elderly mentally ill patients were found to have been seriously abused and neglected on Tawel Fan, a ward in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. No-one mentioned withdrawing their pay. But if anyone sticks two fingers up to Martin’s dodgy ‘training’ or even just isn’t able to find a computer… Martin then announced to the Board that he of course had been ‘compliant with my management training’ and began to talk about the computerised system that is so easy to use – staff just have to log on and away they go. No excuses!

As Martin has learnt absolutely nothing despite having ‘his’ Trust abolished and being removed from his previous job, may I suggest that someone at the Betsi starts carrying out DBS checks on ALL staff. When Martin was CEO of the North West Wales NHS Trust, I was told that criminal record checks were not being carried out. This resulted in the employment of at least one person with previous convictions for assault in a role with direct patient contact….

I left the meeting after hearing Martin explain his latest plans to ensure that the recruitment crisis and breakdowns among staff at the Betsi will continue for some while yet. As I left, I spent a long time pondering on why the Betsi Board are actually putting themselves through this. They cannot run the Board, things are getting worse by the day and now they’re getting touchy about my comments on this blog. Higson looks like a bag of nerves, Martin spent the whole meeting staring downwards at the desk in front of him – even when he was unveiling his plans for the Great Terror – and Phil the Rebel Member had the distinct appearance of a very guilty man facing a police investigation for serious crimes. Which is odd because Phil is the former Police Federation chief for north Wales. Phil doesn’t need to be on the Betsi Board, he will have a generous police pension, even Gordon Anglesea’s widow received one of these, thanks to Arfon Jones, the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner. Higson is past retirement age as well, he will have a state pension as well as a gold-plated pot from his many years concealing wrongdoing in the mental health services and I bet that he’s paid off his mortgage by now as well. If anyone knows why Higson has not sailed off into the sunset on a Saga cruise, please do let me know.

An Update On Those Legal Conundrums

Blog posts ‘Behind The Scenes Regarding Those Legal Happenings’ and ‘Even More Confusion Regarding Those Legal Conundrums’ detail how I was charged with ‘threats to kill’ after I told the secretary of Alun Davies (manager of the Hergest Unit) over the phone that he was a fat idiot, how that case against me was subsequently withdrawn and how I was instead charged with behaviour likely to cause ‘harassment, alarm and distress’. I also described how more recently I discovered that someone had forged a document alleging to be the original indictment, altered the record on the Police National Computer – several times – and had recorded an invalid scrap of paper given to me by the judge who presided over the ‘fat idiot’ trial, Huw Daniel, as being a ‘restraining order’. The blog posts explain how I found out about all this when I received an inaccurate DBS certificate – and also how Martin Jones (former CEO of the North West Wales NHS Trust and present ‘Director of the Workforce’ of the Betsi) seemed to know that my record had been altered in 2009. As the amended DBS record is still inaccurate – the DBS are now telling me that the record shows that I was charged under the Protection From Harassment Act when I wasn’t and that I was ‘originally’ charged with ‘violent disorder’ when I wasn’t (‘violent disorder’ was never on the cards at any point) – I contacted the DBS team again today. They referred me to the Data Protection Officer at Information Standards and Compliance, North Wales Police. Here is the text of the e mail that I sent them:

Dear Sir/Madam
I have been advised to write to you by the DBS disputes service.
Last autumn I applied for a DBS certificate. When it was eventually sent to me, there were a number of inaccuracies on it. It stated that I had been convicted of ‘violent disorder’ in 2003 and had been issued with a ‘restraining order’. I remember this case well. I was not convicted of ‘violent disorder’, I was convicted of an offence under Section 2 of the Public Order Act, the lowest category of offence (the wording was something like behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress). At no time during the case or since was I issued with High Court papers regarding a restraining order. After sentencing, the presiding judge, Huw Daniel, literally issued me with a piece of paper extending my bail conditions – although I wasn’t facing any further charges. As I left the Court, an unidentified man told me to take this piece of paper to my solicitor because it was legally invalid.
At the same time as writing to the DBS disputes team, I wrote to Chester Court, who subsequently sent me a copy of the original indictment, a certificate stating that I had pleaded guilty to violent disorder at Caernarfon Crown Court.
The DBS disputes team have now replied to me, having checked information on the PNC and the Trial Record. They have admitted that I do not have a conviction for violent disorder, but have told me that I was originally charged with violent disorder, but this was dropped and I then pleaded guilty to ‘harassment’ under the Protection From Harassment Act. This is still incorrect. I was originally charged with ‘threats to kill’ and that charge was withdrawn and replaced with a charge under Section 2 of the Public Order Act. At no time was a charge of ‘violent disorder’ even mentioned. Or a charge under the Protection From Harassment Act. My lawyer has recently returned documents from the police relating to this case and these documents confirm that I was charged under the Public Order Act. And to add to the confusion, I have in my possession a print out from the PNC from some four years ago which states that I was convicted of ‘violent disorder’ – which the DBS are now admitting is not true.
So at one point, the PNC was saying that I was convicted of violent disorder when I wasn’t and yet is now saying something different. There is also a document in existence purporting to be the original indictment which is inaccurate. So it rather looks as though someone has interfered with the PNC and forged a document. And having done that once, has then interfered with the record again to ensure that it stated that I had been convicted of an offence under The Protection From Harassment Act – which is still untrue. There is yet another mystery. The DBS record states that I was convicted in 2003 and sentenced in 2014. I was convicted and sentenced a few months apart, sentencing was in 2004. I was nowhere near a Court in 2014.
So someone has interfered with my record on a number of occasions. I do not know who has done this, but I do know that whoever it was has committed a very serious offence. I have discussed all this with the DBS disputes team and they have now advised me to contact you.
Could you please investigate all this. If necessary I can scan and send you copies of the forged ‘indictment certificate’ and the documents that my lawyer returned recently showing that I was charged under the Public Order Act.
Please do let me know how we now proceed.
Many thanks.
(Dr) Sally Baker
I received an e mail back after I sent this, telling me that Data Protection can’t deal with it so they have forwarded my e mail to the Legal Dept.
I do hope that someone in the North Wales Police’s Legal Dept can shed some light on all this. It is all very confusing. However, considering that I have been blogging about this since receiving the original inaccurate DBS certificate, what it looks like to me is that:
1. After I was convicted of calling Alun Davies a fat idiot, a PNC record of ‘violent disorder’ was entered and the Certificate of Indictment was forged to record an offence of ‘violent disorder’. Martin Jones somehow knew about this and let it slip in 2009, realised what he’d done and has since then kept quiet about it.
2. Someone involved in all this read my blog entry regarding me discovering that the PNC record was inaccurate and altered it again, this time to ‘harassment’ – but under the Protection From Harassment Act and then tried to cover their tracks by recording that I was originally charged with ‘violent disorder’ and that’s how the mistake had happened. (I haven’t yet worked out why such a ludicrously incorrect ‘date of sentencing’ was also put into the PNC, but I have only been thinking about this for the last 30 mins. I’m hoping that more info might become available that illuminates it.)
And as for the dreadful Huw Daniel, his legally worthless scrap of paper remains on my record as a ‘restraining order’, despite the fact that no-one can produce any genuinely lawful Court Order.
Just before writing this post, I had a quick read of the Daily Post online. It reported that a homeless man had been prosecuted for being in possession of a can of pepper spray to defend himself from attack (I can believe that he might have felt that he needed this, opportunistic attacks on homeless people are frequent) and that another homeless man has been sent to prison for stealing a glass of orange juice. Meanwhile, there is someone working in some part of the court/police system in north Wales who some years ago forged a legal document and entered incorrect information into the police national computer and who much more recently amended information on the police national computer and then entered more incorrect information. Oh and a judge who knowingly gave out a worthless bit of paper that was then recorded as a Court Order. (But then in the Perry Mason stories, it was often the judge who’d done it.) And a senior executive at the Betsi seems to know something about all this. Can the police possibly now pull in both ‘His Honour’ Huw Morgan Gruffydd Daniel (former representative of HM the Queen in Gwynedd) and Martin Jones for questioning? Or will that only happen when Huw Daniel and Martin are living in a cardboard box around the back of Morrison’s, eating out of date food and steal a glass of orange juice after having gone without a drink for a few days?

Behind The Scenes Regarding Those Legal Happenings

My blog post ‘Interesting Happenings In The Legal System’ describes how much effort was made to bring a charge of ‘threats to kill’ against me (which could have resulted in a seven year prison sentence) after I’d told Alun Davies’s secretary, over the phone, that he was a ‘fat idiot’. This post describes the extraordinary behaviour of Judge Huw Daniel and a few inexplicable happenings. I also describe in this post how, after the ‘threats to kill’ charge was dropped, I was eventually convicted of behaviour likely to cause ‘harassment, alarm and distress’ to Alun Davies (the manager of the Hergest Unit), although how one’s secretary being told that one is a ‘fat idiot’ causes one harassment, alarm and distress is beyond me.

The previous post then details how, a long time after I was convicted, I was told that my record had been altered and was now showing a conviction for ‘violent disorder’. The only indication that I’d ever had of this was in one of Martin Jones’s mad letters to me in 2009, in which he stated that I’d pleaded guilty to ‘violent disorder’ at Caernarfon Crown Court in 2003. I wrote back to Martin reminding him that I’d actually pleaded guilty to ‘harassment’ and unusually for Martin Jones (CEO of North West Wales NHS Trust) I heard no more about this. When I applied for an enhanced DBS certificate last year, I was surprised to find that the record stated that I had indeed been convicted of ‘violent disorder’, so I wrote to Chester Court in an attempt to get to the bottom of all this (please see blog post ‘Interesting Happenings In The Legal System’ for the text of this letter). I also made representation to the DBS ‘disputes’ service – I received a letter a few days ago stating that their enquiries are continuing. I then received a letter from Chester Court which included an alleged copy of the original ‘Certificate of Conviction’, along with a note with a totally illegible signature above the words ‘Officer of the Crown Court’.

My previous blog post also describes how, since writing to Chester Court, I had discovered a document in the files released from the Heddfan Unit from the Department of Education and Skills stating that I’d pleaded guilty to ‘harassment’. So last week I made the mistake of ringing Chester Court to try to obtain clarification and state that I had evidence that the Certificate of Conviction was inaccurate. I was faced with a staggeringly rude, ignorant woman, who would not let me finish my sentences and to put it crudely did not seem to know her arse from her elbow. So just the sort of person the Court needs to put on the end of the phone dealing with a possible miscarriage of justice involving misconduct in public office then. Eventually I gave up, but I did manage to extract the information from the unidentified fool that the illegible signature had been that of a Kate Clough. This morning I have received another Certificate of Conviction from Chester Crown Court, stating yet again that I was ‘upon her own confession convicted of violent disorder’ – accompanying this Certificate is a letter from a Jean Spindler, explaining that this is the ‘amended’ Certificate of Conviction. As far as I can see, the only ‘amendment’ on this Certificate is that it has finally stated my gender correctly – the first copy of the Certificate that I received stated ‘upon his own confession’…Both copies of the Certificate also wrongly state that I was issued with a ‘restraining order’ – as I detailed in my blog post ‘Interesting Happenings In The Legal System’, I was not at any point during this Court hearing or afterwards served with an injunction. I did raise this point in my original letter to Chester Court but it has been ignored.

Since my phone call to Chester Court, my lawyers have returned a huge quantity of documents to me, many of which I had not seen before. Among these many documents are documents from the police and legal documents that were prepared when I was initially charged. They all make reference to me being charged with ‘harassment’ under Section 2 of the Public Order Act. Not a word about ‘violent disorder’. And furthermore, there are copies of newspaper reports from the time that also state that I was convicted of ‘harassment’. So something very interesting has been happening in the Court Service in north Wales. Interestingly enough there was a piece in the Guardian the other day stating that the destruction of original Court records (it seems that original Court records are not kept for long before being destroyed) is leading to miscarriages of justice. I have been told that my original Court records from the ‘harassment’ case over which the appalling Huw Daniel presided have been destroyed.

I noticed a few other odd things regarding the documents relating to this court case that have recently come back from my lawyers. There is an inexplicable handwritten memo among the documents simply saying ‘Martin Davidson 10/12/02. Sally Baker appearing in court – charges of harassment. Playing everything short and formal’. There are no other documents relating to this memo – the memo looks as though it was written by Martin Davidson to someone else, rather than by someone else to Martin Davidson. Martin Davidson, at that time, was the ‘manager’ of mental health for Gwynedd Social Services. He was ultimately Keith Fearns’s boss. (Please see my blog post ‘The Arfon Community Mental Health Team’ for more details on Fearns and his many attempts to intimidate and harass me.) The only contact that I had ever had with Martin Davidson was just before the date on this memo when, along with my lawyer, I had met him to discuss a complaint that we had made about Keith Fearns and his ‘team’. Fearns et al had obtained confidential information about me and had relayed it to my employers and to the relatives of some people that I was lodging with. As ever with Fearns, not only was confidential information passed around about me, but I was later told that Fearns had been his usual intimidating self towards some of these people and of course some of the ‘information disclosed’ was untrue. My lawyer and I met with Davidson and his boss, another very rude, smug, intimidating man called Glyn Hughes, the Assistant Director of Gwynedd Social Services. Glyn Hughes did not even bother to keep the grin off his face as we discussed the complaint about Fearns. Despite numerous letters from my lawyer to Glyn Hughes and Martin Davidson, no action was ever taken against Fearns and co. Among the documents there is also a copy of a letter from a whistleblower at the Hergest Unit to Martin Davidson, raising concerns about the attitude of Keith Fearns and the Arfon Team towards me, although Davidson does not seem to have replied to this letter. There is also an incredibly rude letter from Fearns to Davidson, in which Fearns simply refuses to supply Davidson with the information regarding my complaint that Davidson requested, yet here is no evidence of Fearns ever being challenged regarding this extraordinary letter and attitude to his manager. There is a note from a Bethan Wyn Evans of Gwynedd Social Services after I rang the department to try to contact Martin Davidson to discuss my complaint about Fearns. Bethan’s note states that she told me that Davidson was in a meeting although he was working from home. She also states in her note that I had mentioned the Waterhouse Report – so she explains that she then terminated the call after telling me that she wasn’t going to take ‘abuse’ from me. Not that there had been any ‘abuse’ directed at her and she doesn’t even allege that there had been – I had just mentioned the Waterhouse Inquiry and that was enough for Bethan to hang up. Last but not least, among the documents released, there was a letter from the Department of Education and Skills regarding my conviction for harassment (note, not for ‘violent disorder’) – and handwritten upon this letter was an unsigned note saying ‘open to Kenny Midence’. Curiouser and curiouser – I had never met Kenny Midence and had never been referred to him, but I did know that he was a clinical psychologist who worked with Keaith Fearns and the Arfon Mental Health Team. So why were documents about me and my teaching status being passed to Kenny Midence? But then the interesting thing about the 10,000 documents that have now been released from my lawyers is how often they demonstrate that information was being passed about me to people whom I had never met or indeed had often never heard of. However, since these documents about me were originally compiled, I have heard of some of these people and their organisations – they were mentioned in connection with the north Wales child abuse scandal…I will be blogging much more about this soon.

I will also be writing yet another letter to Chester Court and will of course be reporting back on the blog – but as the original documents have been destroyed and subsequent documents have clearly been fabricated, I suspect that as with so many things, all I’ll be able to do is publicise what happens to people who complain about the mental health services in north Wales…

Interesting Happenings In The Legal System

My blog posts ‘Gwynedd Social Services and the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal’ and ‘The Arfon Community Mental Health Team’ describe an attempt by Gwynedd Social Services to imprison me many years ago and detailed the very odd happenings in the Court in Chester at the time, which I have never got to the bottom of.

There was another occasion on which I was prosecuted which also raised questions that remain unresolved to this day. Some fourteen years ago, the manager of the Hergest Unit, Alun Davies, demanded that I be prosecuted after I told his secretary, over the phone, that he was a ‘fat idiot’. (I did indeed describe him as such; I was detained in the Hergest Unit, had been subjected to constant aggression – and on one occasion violence – from the staff there and had witnessed the same thing happening to other patients. Davies had failed to investigate my complaints and blustered and bellowed at me every time I asked him when he was going to respond. I was utterly sick of him. I will be blogging further details about all this soon.) After I called Davies a fat idiot, I was later told that he had rung the police eight or nine times in the course of one day demanding that I be arrested. I was told that the police had stated that it would be ridiculous to charge me for this. So Davies then claimed that I’d threatened to kill him. The first that I knew of this was when the dreadful Dr Tony Roberts waddled into the ward – Roberts had appointed himself my consultant and ordered my previous consultant and my key worker off my case against both their and my wishes – and told me that I was being discharged. I couldn’t wait to get away from Roberts and this obviously unsafe ward, so I packed right there and then and prepared to leave. Roberts then said smugly ‘by the way, the police want to interview you, so you might want to stay here’. I told Roberts that if the police wanted to interview me they could find me at home. I then hitch-hiked home because I had been left with no money, no transport and the Hergest Unit were quite unconcerned about this. At the time I was lodging with a farming family in Snowdonia whom I had become very good friends with and who had watched aghast at what was happening to me at the hands of the mental health services.

I got home and told the farmers all about the dreadful Roberts and what had gone on in Hergest. About an hour later, two very unhappy looking police officers turned up at the farm. One of them said that they were sorry about this but they’d been sent to arrest me. I asked them what for and they replied ‘threats to kill’. We all got in the car and left for the police station. Unusually for the police – who were often quite chatty and jolly with me – they had deadpan expressions and were silent as they drove. I asked them what the sentence for threats to kill was. One replied ‘Seven years. You must get a solicitor.’ I realised that the Hergest, Tony Roberts and Davies had really excelled here and indeed I got legal advice as soon as I got to the station. I was obviously going to plead not guilty and I remember the biggest dilemma faced by my lawyer was whether I should choose to be tried in the Magistrates Court, which could only impose I think it was a maximum of a five year sentence if I was found guilty, or the Crown Court, where I would face a jury, but a longer sentence if I was found guilty. We decided to opt for a Crown Court trial – my lawyer was concerned that I would not receive a fair trial in the Magistrates Court because of the numerous times that the Hergest Unit had prosecuted me there (although most of the cases against me had collapsed). My lawyer felt that a jury would be far more likely to conclude that something very odd was happening – they also said that they’d subpoena Alun Davies and co and make them admit how much pressure had been put on the police to have me arrested.

I was released on bail, with conditions not to contact Davies or go to the Hergest Unit. I was on bail for the best part of two years – the case went on and on, there were many delays and numerous interim court appearances. By the time the case came to trial I had begun my PhD. My first appearance was in Mold Crown Court. Two friends came with me. When we arrived at the Court, my lawyer told me that scores of ‘witnesses’ from the Hergest unit had turned up, all claiming to have witnessed me threaten to kill Davies. I was told not to let them bait me if I bumped into them. My friends and I then tried to get a cup of tea – we walked into the room dispensing tea and there was half the Hergest Unit, glowering at me. So we walked out again. The case was being presided over by the dreadful Huw Daniel, a notorious judge who revelled in his reputation for a harsh approach and had received coverage in right wing tabloid newspapers in the UK as a judge who knew how to deal with offenders.

When we went into Court something very odd happened. The prosecuting barrister offered us a deal. If I pleaded guilty to harassment, alarm and distress they’d drop the ‘threats to kill’. I had always been quite happy to admit that I’d called Davies a fat idiot (although I remain confused as to how one’s secretary being told that one is a fat idiot causes ‘harassment, alarm and distress’), so we accepted the deal. When Huw Daniel was told about this he seemed to get incredibly angry and started shouting at people. I received the distinct impression that he was absolutely certain that he was going to be hearing a case of threats to kill. So the case had to be rescheduled for sentencing. A psychiatric report was ordered from the Court – and guess what? It was to be compiled by the Hergest Unit! Daniel told me that if I didn’t ‘co-operate’ with this report I’d be charged with contempt of court (and that would be the excuse needed to imprison me no doubt…). I remember Daniel bellowing at the Court officials to ‘make sure that this case is listed for me’. As we left the court I watched all the potential perjurers from the Hergest Unit file out of the door in front of me…

The case was eventually heard in Caernarfon Crown Court in 2004. Huw Daniel roared and bellowed his way through the Court case. I remember him bellowing at one point that he had no doubts regarding the high quality of the care dispensed by the Hergest Unit and the excellence of the staff. Then he discovered that there was no psychiatric report. It was then revealed that this couldn’t even be blamed on me because somehow the Court admin system had screwed up and no request for a report had ever been sent to Hergest. Daniel looked as though he was going to spontaneously combust. The upshot of the case was that I had pleaded guilty to harassment and was given 120 hours of community work. Daniel then also literally issued a piece of paper extending my bail conditions – although I was facing no further charges. As I left the Court an unknown man told me to take this piece of paper to my solicitor. To my regret I never did this. I was utterly sick of being harassed, intimidated, slandered and dragged through the courts and I just wanted to finish my PhD.

After the court case at which I had initially pleaded guilty it was reported in the Daily Post that I had pleaded guilty to ‘harassment’ and that Daniel had commented that I believed that I was the victim, but the real victims were Alun Davies and his family (where on earth the concept of his family had come from I do not know. I had never been even accused of going near his family).

After I had been sentenced, once more I appeared in the local press. And then I received a very interesting letter from someone else who had been prosecuted for ‘threats to kill’ by the Hergest Unit – I will blog more about this soon. And whilst I did community service with the dispossessed and dishonoured of north Wales I heard further interesting things about the Hergest Unit and Huw Daniel – I will blog more about this as well.

Some years later, as the North West Wales NHS Trust was nearing its end and I continued to complain about the responses towards me from staff there (detailed in many of my previous blog pots), Martin Jones, the CEO of the Trust, sent me a number of very aggressive letters, threatening again and again to have me arrested if I entered Trust property. In one of these letters he stated that I had previously pleaded guilty to ‘violent disorder’ at Caernarfon Crown Court. I e mailed back and said that no, I’d pleaded guilty to harassment. Unusually for Martin, I heard no more about this. Then a while later, someone told me that someone had been ‘very naughty’ and that my record had been altered – and it was now indeed showing a conviction for ‘violent disorder’. I thought well I wouldn’t put it past them, but I didn’t follow this up.

A few months ago I applied for a DBS certificate. And when it arrived, guess what? There was a conviction for ‘violent disorder’. So I filled in a DBS dispute form to ask them to look into it. I also rang Mold Crown Court to ask if I could retrieve the original papers regarding my case because I’d been told my record had been altered. The woman I spoke to became deeply offended at this suggestion and told me that whoever had told me that had broken the law. I replied that so had the person who had altered my record. She told me that I’d have to write to Chester Court for more information. So on November 14th 2016 I e mailed this to the Court in Chester:

To whom it may concern

I recently applied for a DBS certificate and have now received it. The certificate number is 001551062563. However, there seems to be an inaccuracy on the certificate and I am wondering if I – or you – can access court papers to sort this matter out.

The DBS certificate states that on Jan 5th 2004 I was convicted of violent disorder under the Public Order Act, S 2, at Caernarfon Crown Court. I remember the case well – I pleaded guilty to calling an NHS manager a ‘fat idiot’ and it was for this that I was convicted; I understood that it was the lowest level of the Public Order Act ie. behaviour likely to cause alarm and distress. I was originally charged with a much more serious offence, but the charges were dropped and my guilty plea to calling the manager a fat idiot was accepted. The DBS certificate also states that I was issued with a restraining order. I remember this well too. Until the hearing I had been on bail. After the hearing, the judge involved, Huw Daniel, issued me with literally a piece of paper continuing the bail conditions – although I was not facing any further charges. As I left the Court, an unknown official said to me ‘take that piece of paper to your solicitor, because you’re not facing any more charges and it’s not valid’. At no point during this hearing or afterwards was I issued with papers relating to an injunction.

I would like to get to the bottom of all this. Is it possible for me to obtain the papers from the original case to find out exactly what has been going on and thus to have the inaccurate record on my DBS amended?

I have not yet received a reply from either Chester Court or the DBS dispute team. I was going to wait until they’d replied before blogging about this, but guess what I’ve found in the Heddfan files? A copy of a letter that the Department of Education and Skills had sent me after my conviction – because I was on the teaching register (although by then I’d given up teaching and was researching for my PhD), some charming character had written to them alerting them to a ‘mentally ill’ teacher in Gwynedd who had a criminal conviction. (And I wonder who that might have been?) And this letter states quite clearly, along with the date of the court case at Caernarfon that I had pleaded guilty to ‘harassment’. Not a mention of ‘violent disorder’.

So how did Martin Jones in 2009 know that the record was inaccurate?

Also in the Heddfan files there are recent print outs from the police computer – yep, it’s now ‘violent disorder’. And this is repeated again and again in the Heddfan medical records – Sally has a conviction for ‘violent disorder’. No-one has mentioned the copy of the letter from the Department of Education and Skills (or the correspondence that I wrote to them after I received their letter, there’s a copy of that in there too) – and no-one stopped to ask what exactly has been happening here?

As for Huw Daniel, after he retired from the Circuit he was appointed the Lord Lieutenant of Gwynedd – the Queen’s representative in Gwynedd! Clearly just the sort of fine upstanding citizen for the Royal Family to hobnob with. This involved him dressing up like General Pinochet in a silly uniform with dreadful little white gloves. In 2013 he appeared in the New Years Honours list.

When I was still working at Bangor University, at one graduation ceremony Daniel was in the audience with his wife. As we left the stage as the ceremony finished and we walked past the crowd, I looked at Daniel who stared stonily ahead. I then looked at his wife who interestingly enough started to cry…

I found something else out about Huw Daniel a while ago. In 2002 he was listed as the judge with responsibility for the Mental Health Tribunals in north Wales. Well fancy that…It was about this time that I also discovered that Professor Robert Bluglass, who had been responsible for discrediting me when he ‘investigated’ my complaint about Dafydd Alun Jones and the North Wales Hospital Denbigh, had asked for his name to be removed from the Medical Register and had stepped down from his academic posts. I e mailed this info informally to a new law graduate with whom I was very friendly at the time – I received an e mail back from him simply saying ‘this is massive…’ And I e mailed back that I realised that which was why a lot of people were worried about what I might publish next.
