A leading news story at the moment is the revelation that a sex trafficking ring has operated in Telford over the past 40 years. It is feared that as many as 1000 children may have been involved. At least three children died in suspicious circumstances as a result and one gang member was behind an arson attack in which the family of another victim died. Many of the children targeted by the gang experienced the usual outcomes for kids who have been targeted by sex abuse gangs – drug problems, prison and death. Allegations are flying that police did not respond to complaints about what was happening and that social workers knew about it but did not act. Business as usual then. Once again, the media have emphasised that the gang was run by ‘Asian men’.
There are demands for a Public Inquiry – I can understand such demands but there will be little point. Whoever Chairs such an inquiry will be someone who has spent their whole career ignoring abuse and harm, the rest of the panel will be drawn from the same stock and the abusers and agencies which facilitated the abuse will be represented by experienced barristers who will aggressively cross-examine any victims daring to give evidence. The victims will receive a few hours of advice from a local solicitor funded by legal aid but there will be a great deal of talk about counselling, helplines and Listening To The Victims. A Report will be published eighteen months later stating that the ‘services have failed’ and that ‘this must never happen again’. A few scumbags will be jailed but none of the well-paid professional people who ignored or facilitated the crimes will even be disciplined. Anyone at a senior level who looks as though they might have been responsible will be given another highly-paid position in a similar role with another authority and a press release from their previous employer will stress that they have ‘moved on’.
This will be the inevitable outcome of an inquiry because abuse of the ‘service users’ in the UK’s social services and mental health services has been so entrenched for so long that there is hardly anybody working in the system who is not complicit with it – everybody else has been forced out.
I’m interested that the latest shock horror story has come from a town in Shropshire. There are clues that a sex trafficking ring related to the ring in north Wales has been busy in Shropshire since the 1980s. John Allen owned a children’s home in Shropshire which was not covered by the Waterhouse Inquiry because the Waterhouse Inquiry only covered abuse of children in north Wales. Ralph Morris, the headmaster of Castle Hill School near Ludlow, was jailed in 1991 for sexually abusing his pupils (see post ‘The Mentor’). Morris was a high profile figure in public life in Shropshire. Internet fora discussing Castle Hill mention abuse at an establishment called Milverton Court in Shropshire – a lot of staff at Milverton Court had also worked at Bryn Alyn and Bryn Estyn.
The family seat of the unfortunate Ormsby-Gore family – of whom so many have met untimely deaths – was at Oswestry in Shropshire and there are clues in the biographies of some of the Ormsby-Gores that they may have been targeted by people using the same methods as the north Wales gang or indeed by the north Wales gang themselves (see post ’95 Glorious Years!’). Instead of the media banging on about ‘the curse of the Harlechs’, someone really needs to start taking a long hard look at why so many members of Lord Harlech’s family have come to grief.
The corrupt GP Dr D.G.E. Wood who was facilitating Dr Dafydd Alun Jones and the trafficking gang in north Wales was mates with a Greek psychiatrist in Shrewsbury in the mid-1980s. Shrewsbury is the town neighbouring Telford and Wood didn’t do business with people whom he knew were honest.
The NHS in Telford will have known about the paedophile gang – some of the victims have spoken about having abortions and continually requesting the morning after pill after having been gang raped. It is the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal all over again – everybody in health and social care as well as in the police and legal system will have known about it. The victims will have ended up in the hands of the mental health services and will have been told that they were psychotic or had ‘borderline personality disorders’. If there were any high profile people involved in the abuse their names will have been kept out of it all by everyone and it will be stressed that it was Asian gangsters at the root of the problem.
It seems that two whistleblowers who reported the abuse in the past were sacked.
It is being suggested that the Telford child sexual exploitation scandal is the UK’s ‘worst ever’. This was said about the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal – but then the scale of abuse in Leicestershire became clear, then Lambeth, then Islington, then Richmond-Upon-Thames, then north east England and of course years previously Kincora in Belfast was so bad that all investigations were stopped. More recently there has been Rochdale and Rotherham and Oxford…
Wake up everyone, all the gangs were/are linked and this has been going on since the 1970s. It is not ‘Asian men’ behind it all, it is professional people who are occupying some of the UK’s most senior positions and the Lords is stuffed full of people who obligingly kept their mouths shut about it. It is Top Doctors, lawyers, judges, Directors of Social Services, local authority executives, civil servants, senior police officers, people with links to the security services and more than a few politicians. ‘Asian men’ running taxi firms and takeaways could never cause this much havoc. There weren’t any Asian men in rural north Wales in the early 1980s anyway – except for a few Top Doctors who were assisting Dafydd et al.
So imagine how entertained I was when I read the Sunday Mirror’s coverage of the Telford scandal and alongside reports of the teenaged girls who were in receipt of NHS ‘family planning’ services after being gang raped was John Prescott’s column praising the Angels of the NHS. They can do no wrong can they Prezza – as your old boss Kinnock always told us. I will return to Kinnock and Prezza shortly.
The Top Docs backlash that I have been mapping recently continues. Tina Donnelly – the Director of the RCN in Wales – was all over the Welsh media after appearing on a Sunday politics programme and warning everyone that if new ways are not found to raise more money for the NHS well gosh who knows what might happen, there could even be a ‘crisis’. Sunday is always the best day for a political punch-up in Wales because everybody with an axe to grind bags themselves a slot on the Sunday media programmes.
Tina has provided us all with laffs for a number of years now, she first rose to prominence when Edwina Hart rightly felt that what was going on in the North West Wales NHS Trust could not be allowed to continue and abolished that organisation. Sadly Edwina allowed the unions to twist her arm and demand a ‘no redundancies’ policy, so all the crooks and fuckwits who had wrecked the NHS in north west Wales were just recycled into the newly created Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, where they conspired with the BMA and numerous other paedophiles’ friends to bring down the newly appointed three senior managers of the Betsi who were desperately trying to stop the slaughter of patients and criminality. Tina was one of many who dutifully turned up in the local media on a regular basis – usually the Daily Post or Western Mail – writing semi-literate dross designed to undermine Edwina and the Betsi Three.
Tina and the paedophiles’ friends won the day – Edwina was removed as Health Minister and the Betsi Three had enough of the hate mail and constant public abuse and resigned. Six years later the paedophiles’ friends are once more running the NHS in north Wales and the rest of the UK can only gawp at the mess. So now Tina is telling everyone that if only the paedophiles’ friends were given even more money – 49% of the Welsh Gov’ts budget not being enough for them – all would be well and good nurses would not be walking away in despair.
Tina’s media PR bit featured an Angel with the obligatory miserable face also appearing on camera to tell us that she has 40 years of experience and she’d never known it so bad. So this Angel – and indeed Tina, because Tina’s been around a very long time – didn’t feel the need to speak up about Dafydd and the paedophiles imprisoning their victims in the dungeon at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh 40 years ago.
Telford – never again! We need a Public Inquiry! Why Oh Why? Will we never learn? Er, no, not as long as Tina is in charge.
Further details of Tina’s glorious career can be read in my post ‘Oh To Be In Receipt Of Academic Honours’ – but the one thing that I always remember about Tina is that for many, many years she has been a member of the Territorial Army and for a long while has been the commanding officer of one of the regiments that ran a field hospital in Afghanistan. I’m fairly sure that that it is the same regiment of which Ysbyty Gwynedd A&E nurse Stephen Gallagher is a member. In 2006 whilst on duty at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Gallagher threatened me, refused to treat me and tried to have me arrested by telling the police that I had been ‘threatening and aggressive’ to him and others. CCTV footage showed that it was Gallagher who had been threatening and aggressive. Martin Jones, the CEO of the NW Wales NHS Trust, destroyed the CCTV footage when my lawyers asked for it. My complaint against Gallagher was never investigated. I later found out that he had previously faced disciplinary action after a Top Doctor complained about him and a note on Gallagher’s file stated that his competence and integrity could not be relied upon. Gallagher was later named as being the last person to see a patient who was found dead in the Cathedral Gardens in Bangor alive after Gallagher turned him away from Ysbyty Gwynedd without treating him.
Gallagher had a few partners in crime at Ysbyty Gwynedd. After he attempted to have me arrested, I was threatened all over again by a man in labourers clothes who accused me of ‘impersonating a GP’ because I was named as Dr Sally Baker on the list of patients. The man in labourers clothes fiercely kicked the chairs surrounding the one on which I was sitting so ferociously that two elderly people sitting near me in the waiting room fled. So did I when I realised that the receptionist had also fled and I was alone with this man and his jackboots who was giving every impression that he was going to hit me. He was Alan Roberts, a nurse practitioner! Some years later Alan Roberts was prosecuted for assaulting an elderly female patient in Ysbyty Gwynedd. Roberts claimed that she attacked him. He was found guilty in Caernarfon Magistrates Court, but appealed. He won his appeal on the grounds that although he did assault the elderly lady, it could not be proved that the injuries which she sustained were caused by him. The old lady had died by the time of Roberts’s appeal so couldn’t give evidence.
I had another encounter with Gallagher and his colleague Andrew Parry – who is also in the TA – on the evening of the 60th anniversary of the NHS. Gallagher celebrated Nye Bevan’s achievement in style – I was refused treatment again, threatened with arrest and two members of the public who tried to help me were also insulted by Gallagher and Parry. One of those people worked at Ysbyty Gwynedd herself and after she told Gallagher that she would report him for misconduct, the next day at work she was met by a posse of Trust managers who accused her of cooking the whole thing up with me to ‘get at’ the Trust managers.
Days after my lawyers once more contacted the Trust about Gallagher, news reports appeared in the Torygraph, the local Welsh press and on the BBC about Major Stephen Gallagher having saved the life of an Afghan teenager whilst he was stationed in Afghanistan with the TA. Confidential details regarding the teenager and his family – which could have put their lives at risk – were also passed to the media by the NW Wales NHS Trust, who had placed the story. It transpired that Gallagher hadn’t saved anybody’s life, he had just been the person who had been ordered to make a phone call to the person who operated on the teenager.
The press release included a photo of Gallagher in uniform, wearing a beret which made him look remarkably like Benny Hill when Cheeky Benny used to put on his beret and glasses and do that salute . I await Cheeky Dafydd to be given his own TV series, in which he is filmed chasing Angels in unfeasibly short skirts – with their suspenders and stocking tops on display – around a tree while speeded up music is playing. Then they can run the film backwards, to make it look as though the Angels are chasing Dafydd. Then perhaps one of the Angels can do everyone a favour and deliver a well-aimed kick to Dafydd’s groin.
Gallager and Roberts received legal advice from the RCN. Roberts’s wife is an intensive care nurse and his son was doing a degree in nursing when Roberts appeared in Court – the Magistrates were told what a dedicated family of Angels they were.
Full details of Gallagher’s and Roberts’s selfless dedication to duty can be read in my post ‘Two Dangerous Very Dishonest Nurses’.
I can only hope that in 15 years time when Tina is an old lady rather than just an old bag, she is admitted to a ward with Senior Nurse Practitioner Alan Roberts and Senior Nurse Stephen Gallagher on duty.
The Daily Post Online ran a feature on a Survivor who has been treated for ovarian cancer who is hiking across Wales. We were told that March 2018 is ‘ovarian cancer’ month. In her comments to the Post, the hiker discussed the low survival rate for ovarian cancer. She is of course quite correct, the survival rate five years after diagnosis is only about 30%. That figure has barely shifted for years, despite the massive publicity which surrounded Dr Vicky Clement-Jones and the launch of Cancer BACUP in the mid-1980s and the millions which then flowed into the coffers of Cancer BACUP (see post ‘The Cradle Of Filth’). Vicky died nonetheless as have many other people since, but her former husband Tim Clement-Jones is now in the Lords. The cross-Wales hiker told the Post that people need to look out for symptoms before ‘it’s too late’. Unfortunately they can’t – ovarian cancer doesn’t have any symptoms until it has metastasised to other major organs which is why it has such a poor prognosis.
I think it was an ovarian cancer drug which was one of those highlighted as being flogged to the NHS at an exorbitant price on the back of an aggressive marketing campaign, despite not improving the prognosis to any great extent.
The hiker has told the Post that she is now cancer free. I’m not sure that she can say that with any certainty – I think that ovarian cancer is not considered to have been ‘beaten’ until someone has lived seven years with no re-occurrence.
Over the weekend I watched a couple of old documentaries about the Labour Party’s troubles in the 1980s – one documentary focused on Tony Benn challenging Denis Healey for the Deputy Leadership in 1981 and the other focused on Kinnock’s ‘success’ at beating Militant and ‘turning the party around’. Regular readers of this blog know that I particularly loathe Kinnock and his hypocrite of a wife because they knew all about Dafydd and the paedophile gang as well as the abuse of vulnerable people elsewhere (see post ‘The Cradle Of Filth’), including in south Wales by George Thomas the Speaker of the House (see post ‘It Wasn’t On Our Radar’) and concealed the lot in an attempt to further their own careers.
The documentaries were good examples of how Kinnock and his Director of Communications Mandy rewrote history and simply concealed serious criminal activity in the welfare services which has grown and grown ever since.
The documentaries brought back a few memories – Denis Healey fuming that Benn had dared to challenge him for the Deputy Leadership in 1981 and complaining that supporters of Tony Benn turned up to heckle at public meetings. What I remember from that time was huge numbers of people utterly fed up with Healey and his gang – who could hardly have been described as successful whilst they were in Gov’t – and who really wanted to see the back of him. Of course people turned up to heckle, they were sick of that smug old git and his mates ruling the roost. Tony Benn had a big appeal because he didn’t appear to be a sell-out, he seemed to have principles and he actually shifted his bum and went out campaigning and joined demos against the excesses of Thatcherism. Sadly Tony Benn was yet somebody else who knew about the Westminster Paedophile Ring and refused to help victims of criminal activity on the part of the welfare state because it would have involved taking on the NHS and the public sector unions whom he was absolutely depending upon for support, but if one didn’t know that Benn was very much more appealing than Healey et al.
The documentaries reminded me of just how close that election for the Deputy Leadership in 1981 was – Benn lost by something like 1%. Those in control of the Labour Party were desperate to see Benn defeated – it got me wondering whether perhaps a few of the votes for Tony Benn somehow did not end up being counted…
The old film clips featured many people whom I have already discussed on this blog as having turned their backs on the most serious criminality and dreadful suffering, such as Michael Foot (see post ‘These Sharks Are Crap As Well’) and of course the disgusting Mandy who knew exactly what was being concealed and later turned up as a member of Lambeth Borough Council, so he was at the scene of the crime anyway.
There was footage of the 1983 Bermondsey by-election where some very dirty tricks were played against Peter Tatchell because he was a gay rights activist. Who played the dirty tricks? Well most of the Labour Party, because they believed that Tatchell being a gay rights campaigner would damage them – the very same people who were concealing the activities of those politicians including Sir Peter Morrison, George Thomas, Greville Janner and Cyril Smith whom they knew were molesting children. The sight of Foot and Kinnock banging on about the evils of Peter Tatchell was a wonder to behold. I have never heard any allegations that Peter Tatchell abused children. However Tatchell will have known about Morrison et al and he didn’t expose them, although he did name figures in the Church of England whom he maintained were gay and refusing to admit it. Peter Tatchell will also have known how many rent boys on the gay scene in the 1980s had been trafficked into sex work whilst in care.
Simon Hughes the Liberal candidate won Bermondsey – the Simon who joined in with the dirty tricks against Thatchell, the Simon Hughes who later admitted that he had been in gay relationships himself, the Simon Hughes who ignored the fact that numerous children from his constituency were placed in children’s homes in north Wales where they complained of being abused. The Sir Simon Hughes who signed the Early Day Motion to protest about the closure of Garth Angharad, one of Dafydd’s prisons (see post ‘More On Those Who Signed That Early Day Motion’).
The sneering oily Gerald Kaufperson also appeared in the documentaries, explaining that the problem with having principles is that you might not become PM – the Kaufperson who when he died not so long ago left absolutely everything in his will to his ‘close friend’ Eric Varley, rather than to his family (see post ‘The Cradle Of Filth’).
There were a few others mentioned in the documentaries who concealed the abuse and murder of vulnerable people in a desperate attempt to get into Gov’t whom I have not yet mentioned, so I’ll include them in this post.
Kinnock became leader of the Labour Party in Oct 1983 and – hilariously – was initially seen as being on the left, the heir to Nye Bevan. Nye Bevan and his wife Jennie Lee kept schtum about a great deal of wrongdoing on the part of the Top Doctors and of course Nye famously stuffed their mouths with gold to ensure that the greedy self-interested troughers dropped their opposition to the NHS.
Days before the June 1983 General Election, Kinnock waxed lyrical and made his famous ‘I warn you’ speech, containing the words ‘If Margaret Thatcher wins on Thursday, I warn you not to be ordinary; I warn you not to be young; I warn you not to fall ill; And I warn you not to grow old’. The Labour Party loved it and the myth of a windbag as orator was born. When the Windbag made that speech he knew that a vicious paedophile gang led by Dr Dafydd Alun Jones and Tony Francis (Dr X) – a man whom the Windbag knew when Francis was a medical student in Cardiff – was operating in north Wales and that their victims were being wrongfully imprisoned, illegally incarcerated in the dungeon at Denbigh and were being found dead. The Windbag knew that a member of that gang was Thatcher’s personal friend, the Tory MP for Chester, Sir Peter Morrison. When the Windbag made that speech Morrison had been Lord Commissioner of the Treasury and was shortly to be appointed as Minister of State for Employment. The Windbag could have brought Thatcher down if he and his colleagues had all worked together and exposed Morrison – and the others involved – and Thatcher’s protection of him.
The Windbag didn’t do this, because he had achieved his own position by the grace and favour of people who had kept quiet about the same paedophile gang. Cledwyn Hughes – Lord Cledwyn, who was MP for Anglesey and Secretary of State for Wales (see post ‘The Cradle Of Filth’) – concealed the activities of Dafydd and the paedophiles for years and was a mate of Glenys Kinnock’s parents (who lived in Holyhead) as well as of Glenys and the Windbag. Anglesey was a marginal constituency – so instead of someone deciding to take a stand and expose the cesspit, everyone did the opposite and concealed it. The result was that Tory barrister Keith Best, a paid-up Thatcherite and paedophiles’ friend, held the seat from 1979-87 – until he was imprisoned, when the seat went to Ieuan Wyn Jones. Who continued to collude with Dafydd and the paedophiles.
Thatcher won that Thursday.
‘Spineless and thick’ does not even begin to describe the Windbag. Furthermore Kinnock, it wasn’t just the abuse of ‘the young’ that you ignored – I and other Bangor students (at the same time that two of us were being targeted by the Top Docs and the sex trafficking ring which in my case began in 1983 no less) worked in old folks homes in Gwynedd and on Anglesey in the 1980s and there were some real horrors going on. What about the elderly in the North Wales Hospital Denbigh? What about Mary, the Denbigh patient who was still incarcerated in that institution in 1985 because when she was a young woman she had become pregnant? She DIED in there in 1985 after decades of being banged up – she wasn’t even mentally ill. The only elderly people whom you gave a stuff about were the elderly Top Doctors like Gwynne the lobotomist on their fat public service pensions after a lifetime of abusing people or the elderly Labour Party grandees and union barons who gave you your job.
Four months before the Windbag became the Leader of the Labour Party, Ron Davies had been elected as the Labour MP for Caerphilly. Before becoming an MP, Ron had worked as an advisor to Mid-Glamorgan Education Authority. Whilst Ron worked for Mid-Glamorgan, Mid-Glamorgan failed to act on allegations that a drama teacher in Pontypridd, John Owen, was sexually abusing his pupils. Years later John Owen was charged with abusing school pupils – he killed himself in 2001 just before he was due to stand trial (see post ‘Yet More Inglorious Bastards’). It was alleged that Owen had molested teenagers on a massive scale and that numerous bodies had ignored complaints about him.
In Oct 1998 just before Ron Davies – who was by then Secretary of State for Wales under Blair – was due to be appointed as Wales’s First Secretary in the newly created Welsh Assembly, he resigned as Secretary of State after his moment of madness on Clapham Common with a male prostitute called Boogie (see post ‘The Cradle Of Filth’). No-one ever got to the bottom of the matter because Alastair Campbell and Blair were responsible for the media statements. After the incident, people came crawling out of many corners in south Wales maintaining that Ron was a nasty piece of work, had been frequenting ‘massage parlours’ for years and that ‘everybody knew about him’. Ron hit the headlines again a few years later when he was filmed looking for badgers in a notorious cruising and dogging venue.
The south Wales Labour Party is small and tribal, if ‘everyone knew’ about Ron, then the Windbag will have known about him as well.
The Windbag did of course rapidly jettison his leftist sympathies once he became Labour leader and this son of south Wales who maxed out on his working class roots and his status as the offspring of a miner did nothing to support the miners in 1984. The Windbag now justifies this by saying that Scargill didn’t call a ballot, so the Windbag couldn’t support the striking miners. Kinnock – I didn’t have any time for Scargill and neither did anyone whom I knew and of course he should have called a ballot, but south Wales was in the process of being destroyed by Thatcher and Nicholas Edwards, the miners were living on the offerings of soup kitchens and were thousands of pounds in debt whilst their goods were being repossessed. Oh and they were being framed for criminal offences by the police. Just as the victims of that paedophile gang which you protected were.
I also discovered from the documentaries that the Windbag actually had a punch-up with someone else in the gents bogs at a conference. Christ almighty. So what did he do then Kinnock, was he looking at your bird or did he spill your pint? There was also much footage of the Windbag sinking pints with The Lads and having a singalong at moments of triumph. Then there were clips of an older Windbag explaining that perhaps that sort of coverage didn’t do him any good. Er – yes. A hostile media was only too happy to film Thatch sitting behind her desk hard at work whilst the Windbag got pissed. Had the Windbag been in possession of two brain cells, he would have taken time to acquaint himself with the work of folk like the Glasgow Media Group who had already published material about the techniques that the mass media used to undermine certain people and viewpoints…
The Windbag’s answer was to the media hostility and insults was to align himself with the NHS and public service professionals and of course to make sure that he was filmed again and again with children – in schools, in nurseries and he even kissed a few whilst he was out campaigning.
Some of the children’s homes in north Wales with the worst abuse and grooming problems were located on Anglesey. One was in Holyhead. The education authority and the schools knew that those children were not being treated as they should have been, in particular the special educational needs service. Glenys Kinnock was a school teacher from Holyhead and she knew about the abuse of those children. Recently Glenys has doubled up as a Trustee for the children’s charity SNAP Cymru. One other Trustee was named in the Waterhouse Report – he was the manager of a children’s home where the kids were being abused.
The Windbag wasn’t popular in north west Wales. He was seen as treacherous because of his opposition to devolution (see post ‘News From Sicily’) and he alienated Welsh speakers by making it clear that he was completely uninterested in their desire to preserve the language. In 1979 the Windbag had a dust-up with Gwynedd County Council, in particular the Education Authority. There were allegations that children were only allowed to go to the loo if they asked in Welsh. The allegations were denied but the Windbag made much of it and there was a diplomatic incident. A number of other parents came forward with the terrible problems that they too had encountered with Gwynedd Education Authority. The problem was of course nothing to do with the Welsh language, the chaos and cruelty arose from the fact that a paedophile ring was operating in the area that was being facilitated by Gwynedd County Council and the sort of people who do that are not going to be very good at running an education authority. Did the Windbag explain this? No. He gave the Welsh language a kicking.
Kinnock – speaking another language is a fantastic thing to do, it is what used to be known as an accomplishment. Teaching children Welsh only becomes a problem when it is used as a umbrella and a battering ram by a gang of paedophiles – your hostility to Welsh speakers allowed that to continue. But there weren’t enough votes for you to be interested in Gwynedd were there – it was solid Plaid and Dafydd Wigley held Caernarfon with a huge majority. So you weren’t going to offer anyone up there any help – even though if, in 1983, you had appealed for victims of Dafydd and the paedophiles to come forward you’d have been overwhelmed. Mary Wynch had gone public, Alison Taylor had gone public and I was about to start writing to MPs and Ministers as well.
Kinnock campaigned on Anglesey and in Llandudno in the mid-1980s and it was as a result of his successful windbaggery at those locations that the notorious 1987 party political election broadcast masterminded by Mandy which became known as ‘Kinnock – the Movie’ was made.
Kinnock and Mandy still stress that the campaign was a winner, it was absolutely brilliant. Except that Thatcher won the General Election.
Doh! Kinnock and Mandy Simpson. One’s an underachiever and proud of it and the other one turned up to social occasions with Reinaldo which was written about in Alastair Campbell’s diaries as though it was a ‘Private Eye’ spoof, although I don’t think Campbell meant it to be.
When Mandy masterminded that film about the Windbag, Sir Peter Morrison was Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party and molesting children in care in Cheshire and north Wales. The film director Hugh Hudson – who directed Chariots of Fire in 1981 – was the person who made ‘Kinnock – the Movie’. Hudson also directed ‘Revolution’ – there wasn’t going to be one of those with the Windbag at the helm.
Then there were the Windbag’s famous rhetorical questions at another conference. Why was he the first Kinnock in a ‘thousand generations’ to go to university? (Answer – because a thousand generations ago, the Kinnocks were still gases in the atmosphere.) Why was Glenys the first woman ‘in a thousand generations’ from her family to go to university? (Answer – whatever Glenys achieved it was entirely a consequence of the fact that her mum and dad were friends with Lord Cledwyn.)
Let’s hear it for aspiration Windbag-style! Meanwhile down in the dungeon at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh…
Whilst watching the videos, I was reminded of how the Windbag and his mates really did think that they were going to win the 1987 General Election. Somebody else really thought that Kinnock was going to win as well – Dr Tony Francis (Dr X). Because I didn’t know what Francis was doing – ie. conspiring with the paedophiles’ friends like there was no tomorrow to try and have me declared insane and banged up in a high security hospital – I used to chat about current affairs to him. I remember telling Francis in 1985 that Thatcher was going to be in office for a very long time – and he absolutely maintained that the Tories would be beaten at the next election by the Windbag, whom he did of course know. Meanwhile, Francis’s mate Dr D.G.E. Wood was ingratiating himself to Dr Death. God knows who Dafydd was trying to get into Gov’t, Dafydd nominally supported Plaid and on two occasions years before had stood for election as a Plaid candidate, but Dafydd was actually so unhinged and so busy visiting young female patients in the middle of the night whom he had illegally imprisoned that I doubt he ever made it down to the polling station.
The documentaries also showed film footage of the Windbag saying that after he was told about Degsy Hatton et al handing out redundancy notices to the employees at Liverpool City Council, he thought ‘this is what I’ve been praying for…I’ve got them…’ The famous windbaggery at the Labour Party Conference in 1985 followed, which of course caused old Heffer to stomp off the platform in a hissy fit.
Not that the Windbag had got them at all – despite the show trial and expulsion of Militant members in Liverpool, chaos reigned and Thatcher continued to use Liverpool as a public convenience.
If the Windbag had really wanted to nail that lot, all he had to have done was to make public the fact that Heffer was having midnight tipples at Number 10 with Thatcher, that Heffer and his wife were part of the Liverpool branch of Dafydd’s empire and were colluding with corrupt Top Doctors and the paedophiles’ friends and that Degsy’s boss John Hamilton was part of the same bunch (see post ‘These Sharks Are Crap As Well’).
After the Windbag had dealt so effectively with Militant, in 1990 Walton Hospital made sure that Michael Carr, the MP for Bootle, did not survive after he’d been rash enough to place himself in their hands (see post ‘News From Sicily’) after taking on Militant. Walton was an area run by Militant. The Top Docs and Angels of Walton were still ensuring that anyone who had taken on the paedophiles’ friends did not survive 20 years after Mr Carr didn’t survive his visit to Walton Hospital (see post ‘A Vampire At Glwndwr University!’).
Another person featured on the documentaries who knew about Westminster figures abusing children and the associated criminality was Roy Hattersley. Fattersley was Deputy Leader of Labour whilst the Windbag was Leader – the ‘dream ticket’. Unfortunately they hated each other, which resulted in a ‘Private Eye’ cover featuring a photo of them together in which a thought bubble emanating from Hattersley read ‘Welsh windbag’ and a thought bubble emanating from Kinnock read ‘slimy fat toad’. Fattersley explained on camera how the Windbag was a bit thick and that Fattersley felt more at home with ‘intellectuals’. No doubt Fattersley went down a treat with all the self-styled intellectual Top Doctors who were facilitating criminality whilst they enjoyed themselves at Royal College dinners and became wine connoisseurs. Another glass of claret Fattersley? I did enjoy your food column…
Fattersley was the MP for Birmingham Sparkbrook, 1964-97. He was in the Commons for so long that of course he will have known about Peter Morrison, George Thomas, Greville Janner et al. Children from the West Midlands were sent to the children’s homes in north Wales. Professor Robert Bluglass of the University of Birmingham concealed the wrongdoing of Dafydd, Tony Francis and the paedophile gang in 1988 (see post ‘Enter Professor Robert Bluglass CBE’) and Bluglass’s colleague at Birmingham University, Professor Ian Brockington, was Tony Francis’s former boss (see post ‘Ian Brockington’s Mischief’). Adrianne Jones, the former Director of Social Services for the City of Birmingham, advised the Waterhouse Inquiry panel, although children in the care of the service which she managed were abused. Sir Ron Hadfield, the former Chief Constable of the notoriously corrupt West Midlands Police who were involved in fitting up people from north Wales also advised the Waterhouse panel – furthermore Hadfield knew the senior police officers who managed the North Wales Police whilst that force colluded with Dafydd and the paedophiles and then refused to co-operate with investigations into the paedophile ring (see post ‘The Waterhouse Tribunal – Who Was Involved And What Happened To Them Subsequently?’).
Charles Clarke – who later became one of Blair’s boot boys whilst Blair was PM – was Kinnock’s Chief of Staff, 1983-92 . He explained that he went up to meet Degsy and Tony Mulhearn of Liverpool City Council in 1985 and he was appalled at what was going on in Liverpool in terms of thuggery and corruption. It was still going on when you were Home Secretary, 2004-06, Clarke and it was going on in north Wales as well. You and Blair knew all about it and just buried it all even more deeply.
Mandy was featured of course in his capacity as the Windbag’s Director of Communications, 1985-90 – but not with Reinaldo, because the one thing that Mandy did not want communicated in those days was that he was gay and he got very nasty when Matthew Parris outed him on ‘Newsnight’. Mandy was seething when, after Degsy and Mulhearn had been summoned to Walworth Road to be spanked by the Windbag et al, they hung out of an open window and held a press conference. Which was the best way of dealing with Mandy et al, I’d have done the same myself if a Windbag and a sociopath in denial had tried to tell me what to do. It was just a very great pity that Degsy was on the dark side himself…
Patsy Hewitt, the Windbag’s Press Secretary, was interviewed. The Patsy who was General Secretary of the NCCL for years whilst it was affiliated to PIE, the Patsy who later became Blair’s Health Secretary and presided over the Miracle With The NHS Funds (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part V’) and then clocked up lucrative company directorships in the field of private healthcare after she left Gov’t. The Patsy who took over as the MP for Greville Janner’s Leicester constituency after that particular child molester was raised to the peerage in 1997.
Michael Meacher chipped in – Meacher was an ally of Benn and was the left’s candidate for the Deputy Leadership against Fattersley in 1983. Michael Meacher knew exactly how vulnerable people were being abused. He dipped his toe into the study of the care of the elderly and quickly withdrew that toe after he realised how bad the care was. Michael was married to Molly – a social worker who spent years at the heart of the paedophiles’ friends. Molly is now in the Lords and is married to another person deeply in denial where mental healthcare is concerned, Lord Richard Layard (see post ‘A Vintage Crop’).
Tony Benn featured a great deal and of course knew all about the Westminster Paedophile Ring, the abuses of the Top Doctors and the criminality in north Wales – because I wrote to him about it. Tony Benn knew anyway – he was a member of the Labour Party NEC, 1962-93. He couldn’t NOT have known, he spent his entire career surrounded by the people facilitating and concealing it all and he cultivated the support of the unions whose members were doing the abusing, as well as the elite Top Doctors of St Thomas’s who have a great deal to answer for.
Chris Mullin, the MP for Sunderland South, another person on the left who was very critical of the Windbag’s lack of principles, was interviewed. Chris Mullin has done some excellent things, but he kept quiet about the child abuse ring in Sunderland – which had links to the north Wales one – and recommended that police investigations should stop and that compensation should not be paid to victims in the absence of criminal convictions (see post ‘Another Episode Of Friends…’). You’ve nothing to worry about Chris, the victims who aren’t dead have had their lives destroyed by the Top Doctors and the criminal justice system, they are simply branded as lying psychotic criminals if they ever dare pipe up.
David Blunkett – who famously fathered the Little Lad with a woman who then had Blunkett for breakfast, causing Blunkett to resign in the ensuing scandal – described how he bravely fought Militant with the Windbag. Blunkett and the Windbag were filmed braving a crowd of shouting swearing Militant supporters as they walked up some steps into a grand building. Blunkett and the Windbag did not however risk their necks in Walton Hospital.
Whilst Blunkett was Home Secretary he increased Howard Hughes’s sentence to one of 50 years before he could be considered for parole. In July 1996 Howard Hughes was convicted of the murder and rape of Sophie Hook, a little girl in Llandudno, on the basis of no forensic evidence at all and the word of somebody else imprisoned for sex offences against children. The pathologist who gave evidence at the trial, as well as some of the lawyers involved, were paedophiles’ friends. Howard Hughes has learning difficulties and as a teenager had spent time in Bryn Estyn – where he alleges that he was abused – and in Garth Angharad. A great many people believe that Howard Hughes is the victim of a miscarriage of justice (see post ‘News Round Up – And Murder Most Foul’).
Blunkett also gave a citizen’s award to a woman who lives near Llanberis – who had a track record of intimidating mental health patients – on the basis of her charity work fighting crime. A young male member of her family was later convicted of a sex offence but she kept that quiet and her network of friends made sure that a cover story was put around the neighbourhood. She subsequently received an MBE for her crime fighting.
Dear old Prezza had a few minutes on camera – Prezza was Deputy Leader, 1997-2007. Prezza grew up in north Wales and spent years as MP for Hull, both locations of paedophile activity. Prezza was a student at Ruskin College whilst Matt Arnold was teaching there and Peter Howarth was his student, some seven years before Arnold and Howarth established their regime of abuse at Bryn Estyn (see post ‘A Study In Tyranny’).
A smug face from the past Philip Gould appeared. Gould was an advertising executive who became an advisor and consultant to the Labour Party and was one of those who rebuilt it into New Labour. He was campaign director in 1987, so he’ll have known how dishonestly he was marketing the Windbag, with people banging on about the Welsh roots of him and Glenys whilst people who had challenged the paedophiles’ friends and actually lived in the locations which provided the nice scenery for the Windbag’s photo opportunities were being harassed, threatened, fitted up in Court, illegally imprisoned, placed under surveillance by MI5 and were sometimes killed. MI5 were using their considerable resources to help the gangsters and their friends, not the victims.
I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if the security services were busy undermining the Windbag himself on the grounds that they considered him far too incapable to be PM, what with the Soviet Union imploding and the difficult diplomacy involved (see post ‘That’s Entertainment’) – which left us with Thatch…
A few trade union fixers were featured on the documentaries who were deemed to have played crucial roles in the rise of the Windbag. One was Clive Jenkins, who’s efforts were central to the Windbag becoming leader of the party. In 1983 – at what should have been an unremarkable weekend meeting of the ASTMS Executive – Jenkins nominated and obtained the approval of the Windbag as Foot’s successor and proclaimed it on the BBC’s ‘The World This Weekend’. Fattersley’s campaign was wrong-footed and the unions backed the Windbag.
Clive Jenkins was from south Wales and had excellent links with them down there. He will have known whilst he was fixing it for the Windbag to become Party Leader that Ron Davies whom everyone knew about had been elected for Caerphilly a few months previously.
Clive Jenkins was a vain, ostentatious tosser who was considered a major pain by many.
Jenkins was born in Port Talbot. On leaving Port Talbot County Boys’ School in 1940 at the age of 14 – when his railwayman father died – he started work in the laboratory at a metalworks and took evening classes at Swansea Technical College. He was promoted to the position of head of the lab and then to foreman.
Jenkins was involved the Association of Scientific Workers (AScW) and in 1944 was elected as Secretary of his branch. In 1946 he became a full-time official at the Birmingham office of the Association of Supervisory Staff, Executives and Technicians (ASSET), where he was appointed Assistant Divisional Secretary. He was at the time a member of the Communist Party.
In 1951 Jenkins organised a strike at Heathrow Airport that caused British European Airways to cancel more than 800 flights. He moved almost immediately to ASSET’s Head Office and received rapid promotion – National Officer in 1954, Deputy General Secretary in 1957 and General Secretary in 1961.
At the time ASSET had 23,000 members, which later increased to 50,000 by 1969, when ASSET merged with AScW, to form ASTMS (the Association of Scientific, Technical and Managerial Staff). Jenkins was joint General Secretary of the newly formed ASTMS – with John Dutton of AScW – but by 1970 Jenkins was sole General Secretary with a vision of what ‘his’ union could become. Within 15 years, ASTM’s membership grew to nearly 500,000.
Jenkins is remembered as the man who brought trades unionism to the middle classes. His listed his recreation in ‘Who’s Who’ as ‘organising the middle classes’.
Jenkins made frequent appearances on television chat shows and wrote columns for the Daily Mirror, the News of the Word and for Queen magazine. He dealt in property and antiques, was the first trade unionist to become a millionaire and is remembered as a gourmet and bon viveur who was partial to a fine claret.
Jenkins pissed off other trade union leaders to such an extent that he was excluded from the General Council of the TUC until 1974. But he eventually became its Chairman, 1987 -88.
After the election of Wilson’s Gov’t in 1974, Jenkins was appointed to the National Research and Development Council, (NRDC), 1974-80. He sat on the 1975-77 committee that produced the Bullock Report (Industrial Democracy). Jenkins was also a member of the Board of the British National Oil Corporation, 1979-1982.
In 1988 Jenkins orchestrated a merger between ASTMS and TASS (the Technical, Administrative and Supervisory Section) to form MSF. Shortly afterwards, Jenkins unexpectedly announced his retirement.
MSF was the union whose corrupt reps seemed to wield a great deal of power in St George’s Hospital Medical School, whilst that institution concealed serious criminality, both in north Wales and in south London (see posts ‘Some Eminent Psychiatrists From London…’ and ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’).
At the age of 62 after Jenkins suddenly announced his retirement, he took £200,000 as a pay-off from his union and embarked on a business venture in Tasmania with a girl friend (his marriage was dissolved in 1989). The plan was to run a hotel and restaurant. Within a year, the business and the affair collapsed and in 1990 Jenkins returned to live in Chelsea – he also purchased a house in the Cotswold’s.
After Jenkins’s death in 1999, Roger Lyons, then the MSF General Secretary, commented that Jenkins’s ‘contribution to the union movement was immeasurable’ and that he was ‘the most outstanding trade unionist of his generation’, ‘the first to see the potential of organising white-collar workers’ and ‘the first General Secretary to recognise the power of the media and use it in a positive way on behalf of working people’.
Other obsequious comments made about Jenkins after his death included the observation that ‘for a large part of his career, he was as noisy as the champagne corks popping about him. If you were not on the guest list for his lavish parties at both the Trades Union Congress and Labour party conferences you did not matter’. His ‘custom made shirts with a personal motif’ were remembered, as was his custom built Regency office, as well as that Jenkins ‘professed to be on more than a nodding acquaintance with world statesmen from Golda Meir to Chairman Mao. Once on holiday with another union leader in Cyprus, he got up off the beach, summoned his waiting limousine, and told his astonished colleague: ‘Come on, we’re going to Nicosia to have lunch with Archbishop Makarios’ – and they did.’
When Jenkins’s TUC colleague the Aslef leader Ray Buckton was seriously ill, Jenkins was ‘appalled to discover the inadequacy’ of Buckton’s hospital diet. ‘Fish and chips?’ Jenkins commented with horror, ‘I sent my driver to Harrods to buy baby food and other soft prepared material’. He later arranged with Robert Maxwell to have Buckton removed to an air-conditioned room in another hospital.
Presumably Jenkins had his mate removed from an NHS hospital run by MSF – his own union – and transferred to one where the patients’ needs were prioritised. Meanwhile, up in north Wales where the paedophile gang that was being facilitated by the MSF reps at St George’s Hospital Medical School ruled the roost, Dafydd’s dungeon was never empty and former kids in care and psych patients were being found dead.
If anybody wants to try and justify Clive Jenkins’s time on earth I’d be interested to hear from them.
So Kinnock, why was this worthless scumbag so desperate to install you as Leader of the Labour Party?
Jenkins’s obituaries observed how sad it was that this great man spent his final years in obscurity making bad decisions and drinking too much. Why are we not surprised – he’d hardly shown good judgement previously. I’m wondering if Jenkins was fleeced by the much younger woman with whom he ran off to Tasmania – that seems to have been when his problems began…Well if she did ruin the poisonous old bugger, we all owe her one. Perhaps she can keep up the good work and run away to Tasmania with the Windbag, Blair, Mandy, Cameron and the rest of them. If she gets in touch via the blog I’ll give her a list of all the people with whom we could well do without.
Roger Lyons, the man who believed that Jenkins was helping ‘working people’ was General Secretary of MSF, 1992-2002, when MSF merged with the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union to form AMICUS. He subsequently became one of the Joint General Secretaries of AMICUS. Lyons led MSF when St George’s had developed into a well-oiled machine for facilitating child abuse and drug distribution (see post ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’) and whilst major research fraud was taking place there (see post ‘I Don’t Believe It’).
Lyons has a degree in Economics from UCL. His union career began in 1966 as a full-time union official for the North West England region of ASSET, one of the unions which later became ASTMS.
In 1970 Lyons became a National Officer of ASTMS and in 1987 Assistant General Secretary. In 1988, ASTMS merged with TASS to form MSF. In 1992 Lyons became General Secretary of MSF. He was re-elected to that position in 1997 by 67% of the members voting. Turnout was 12% – so presumably all those NHS scientists who had been press-ganged into joining MSF on pain of being scapegoated and hung out to dry if they refused didn’t feel like turning out to vote for the crooks who led their union.
Lyons was the first General Secretary of a major trade union to be removed from office by the Trades Union Certification Officer. Under the agreement to form AMICUS, Lyons became Joint General Secretary of AMICUS’s MSF section. AMICUS’s other Joint General Secretary was Derek Simpson. Lyons planned to remain as JGS of the MSF section until 2007, which would result in his being a General Secretary for seven years without re-election, as opposed to the normal legal limit of five years. He and his supporters maintained that the requirement for an election was waived because he was within five years of retirement. A legal challenge resulted in a ruling in May 2004 that Lyons should ‘cease forthwith to hold office as Joint General Secretary of AMICUS’ and Lyons was forced earlier than he had originally intended.
Lyons was a founder member of the Anti-Apartheid Movement and nominated Nelson Mandela for his first international honour as Honorary president of UCU. Lyons organised the first South African Scholarship at a British university (UCL) and was an observer for the EU in the first free elections in South Africa.
Lyons was President of the TUC from Sept 2003-Sept 04, after which he retired. During this time he visited Israel and Palestine in Nov 2003 on behalf of the TUC. Lyons is a long-standing member of the Trade Union Friends of Israel and he addressed a TUFI fringe meeting at the 2005 Congress of the TUC.
In Feb 2004 Lyons took part in a fact-finding visit to Colombia organised by the Justice for Colombia.
Another Labour ‘moderniser’ who starred in the documentaries was Tom Sawyer. Sawyer gets a plug in Blair’s autobiography ‘A Journey’ – Blair is most grateful to Tom.
Sawyer was born in County Durham and was General Secretary of the Labour Party, 1994-98, after Blair ousted Larry Whitty. There was a lot of bad feeling about that, I remember the gnashing of teeth and allegations regarding just how underhanded it all was.
Sawyer was educated at Dodmire School, Eastbourne Comprehensive School and Darlington Technical College.
After college, Sawyer worked in engineering and then moved into trade unionism. He became a NUPE Officer in 1971, becoming their Northern Regional Officer in 1975. NUPE was one of the unions to which the managers of the local authorities who hosted paedophile gangs in their children’s homes belonged. NUPE provided legal advice to those accused of abuse. There were paedophile gangs in operation in the north of England whilst Sawyer was a NUPE rep there, including in the North East, where Sawyer came from and went to college. The gang in the North East was linked to the gang in north Wales – Matt Arnold and Peter Howarth, who ran Bryn Estyn when business boomed for the paedophile gang based there, had relocated to Bryn Estyn from Axwell Park Approved School in Gateshead in 1973. There had been complaints of abuse at Axwell Park.
In 1981, Sawyer was made Deputy General Secretary of NUPE and continued to serve when it merged to become UNISON until 1994. In this capacity Sawyer also served as a member of Labour Party NEC, 1981-94 and was Chair of the Party in 1991 under Kinnock’s leadership.
In 1994, Tom Sawyer became General Secretary of the Labour Party under Blair’s leadership and led the Party into the 1997 General Election. After Prezza et al had a drunken knees-up to the strains of ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ – and things did get even better for the paedophiles’ friends, Blair gave them posts as Ministers and then elevated them to the Lords – Sawyer stood down at the 1998 Party Conference. Then Blair gave him a peerage.
In November 2004, it was announced that Lord Tom would become the next Chancellor of the University of Teeside, replacing that other paedophiles’ friend, Leon Brittan.
An article in the Indie in Sept 1998 featured Tom’s account of how he and his brave moderniser colleagues fought corruption in the Labour Party. The article explained that Tom was the architect of the policy review process through which the Windbag scrapped the policies on defence, Europe and party organisation. Yet dear old Tom arrived on to the NEC in 1981, having ‘enthusiastically helped in the Deputy Leadership campaign of Tony Benn and remained a reliable member of the left grouping until well after the 1983 election’. So what changed your mind then Tom? You spent the first half of your career assisting a gang of sex offenders in the cause of socialism and then you assisted them in pursuit of the Third Way.
Tom’s rationale as told to the Indie explained that ‘several factors gradually conspired to turn this thoughtful, quiet-spoken man off the Bennites’. First, ‘there’d be left caucuses forming at the NEC and Dennis Skinner told everybody what to do and I didn’t find that very comfortable’. As opposed to Mandy and Blair telling everyone what to do. Dennis Skinner was another Ruskin alumnus who was in a position to know much about the child molesters at Westminster (see post ‘A Study In Tyranny’). ‘A low point’ was reached for Lord Tom in 1984 when the left called for a general strike in support of the miners – which Sawyer regarded as ‘cloud-cuckoo-land’. Who knows what would have happened Tom – Thatcher’s Gov’t might have been brought down – as it would have been if you’d blown the whistle on Matt Arnold and Peter Howarth running a paedophile gang at Bryn Estyn and letting Thatch’s mate Peter Morrison join in the fun.
In 1984 Morrison was Minister of State for Employment.
The Indie explains that although Sawyer wasn’t bright enough to out-argue Dennis Skinner, his real problem was of course with Militant-run Liverpool. The Indie explained that Jane Kennedy, ‘now a Labour MP’, was the branch secretary of NUPE in the city. Yes, Kennedy most helpfully assisted Dafydd and the paedophiles. Sawyer had been told that Jane Kennedy had bad relations with the Labour run Liverpool City Council, which was in open conflict with the Tory government. Sawyer explained that he went to meet Kennedy – it was a ‘defining moment’ for him, because he went to Liverpool to give Jane Kennedy a bollocking but returned ready to do something about Militant. Only the daft old git couldn’t, because Kennedy, Heffer, Hatton, Hamilton and Kinnock and the ‘modernisers’ were all assisting and concealing the Liverpool branch of Dafydd’s empire.
Hey Lord Tom, you should have called on us service users from north Wales, we’d have given you all the evidence that you needed to deal with Heffalump et al. Er – but you didn’t want to do that did you – your solution was for us all to eventually be imprisoned or die. The lovely Jane Kennedy is now Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside – see post ‘News From Sicily’ for Jane’s background and dirty dealings.
When Lord Tom went to Liverpool, he ‘sat round in a room with about 25 decent people, gardeners, refuse collectors, school caretakers… was told about a group of gangsters who were running the Council for their own ends…this played out in very real terms for these people because if they wouldn’t join the GMB branch 5, which was controlled by Militant, then they were put on onerous duties’.
That’s nothing Tom, if you challenged the paedophiles’ friends and risked your neck in Walton Hospital – or indeed in many other hospitals – you were refused treatment and left to die.
Sawyer proposed in the NEC the resolution that eventually led to the purge of Derek Hatton and his allies. The Indie stated that it ‘was a highly uncomfortable time for him as he faced charges of betrayal by the Bennite left’. Sawyer was the hero of the hour though – ‘I went out on a limb and I did it because of what I’d seen and I felt I could stand it up. So a lot of people would crudely characterise that as a move to the right but in fact it wasn’t. It was a move to honesty and decency, away from political corruption’.
So that’s why Michael Carr was left to die in Walton Hospital in 1990 and two DPPs refused to investigate! It was because Tom and the Windbag had cleaned up the Labour Party.
Lord Tom didn’t only do the Windbag’s bidding, he had a hotline to Mandy as well. The Indie told us that Sawyer and Mandy were ‘working on essentially parallel tracks’. Sitting on a mountain of crap. Sawyer told the Indie that Mandy was a ‘brilliant, brilliant, operator’ with the press – Mandy had spent years working as a TV executive, he had the dirt on everyone and shamelessly ingratiated himself to the most powerful people in the media. Sawyer also stated that Mandy was a ‘ruthless hit man for the leadership’. I’ll emphasise the phrase hit man…
Is that why so many witnesses to the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal found their careers and lives destroyed Kinnock?
Tom did notice however that the Windbag did not win the 1992 election – no Tom, John Major won it and just days later a firebomb killed five witnesses to the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal and a survivor of that fire was found dead after he claimed that witnesses were being murdered and gave evidence at John Allen’s trial. The man who allegedly confessed to starting the fire was found dead hours after his alleged confession. See post ‘The Silence Of The Welsh Lambs’.
Tom reassures us that ‘Neil was the man who saved the Labour Party. He was a giant. The man who took on all those people, Arthur Scargill, the London loony councils, Militant in Liverpool. He fought it tooth and nail, line by line’.
Well Tom, let’s excavate the North Wales Hospital Denbigh and dig up those bodies and we’ll date the remains and work out how many people died out there because that big wally Kinnock and his dreadful empty headed wife – who grooved it on the dance floor for the cameras at every Labour conference in a lame attempt to be the Labour Party’s answer to Princess Di – fancied being PM and First Lady. Because those in the grounds of Denbigh are the people who paid the price for that Windbag and Mandy ‘saving’ the Labour Party – saving it for Blair and Cherie, who knew damn well what was being covered up and spent many more years continuing that cover-up…
Now here’s another radical conscience from the north east of England who needs to make a police statement – Emeritus Professor of Sociology at Durham University David Byrne. David has an impeccably radical CV, but he’s ignored some pretty dreadful things whilst building up that publication list. Dave was educated at the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and the LSE. He then taught at Durham, 1970-74. He was Research Director of the North Tyneside Community Development Project 1974-77 and Reader in Sociology at Ulster Polytechnic, 1977-80. Dave has worked with Berwick Trades Council and the consortium of community groups in Newcastle and Gateshead concerned with the content of the Newcastle; Gateshead joint planning strategy, including a longer standing relationship with residents organizing against the ‘Bridging Newcastle Gateshead’ housing pathfinder programme.
You can’t spend that many years working as a community sociologist and not know that a gang of paedophiles involved with serious organised crime have colonised the NHS, social services and every other agency in the region. The gang that Dave has been ignoring for many years is the gang with connections to the one in north Wales…
In 2012 Dave received the Social Policy Association Special Recognition Award. That’s how it’s done – you just pretend that the violence and the brutality isn’t there.
Dave is involved with the Wolfson Institute, which is currently running a project funded by the Leverhulme Trust, ‘Health Inequalities In An Age Of Austerity: The Stockton-On-Tees Study’. These health inequalities stubbornly remain with us don’t they…
Whilst I was on the Wolfson Institute’s website, job adverts for PwC and Big Pharma appeared before me…
Another talking head from the past who popped up on the documentaries about the Giant Windbag who saved the Labour Party was Joe Ashton. Joe was MP for Bassetlaw in Nottinghamshire, 1968-2001. Joe was known for his defence of the rights of Labour MPs against the demands of the left-wing of the party to subject them to mandatory reselection. Joe was a fan of the Windbag.
Joe Ashton was born and brought up in Sheffield. He attended High Storrs Grammar School and Rotherham Technical College. Does the name Rotherham ring any bells for readers?
In 1974, when corruption allegations about MPs were circulating, Ashton gave an interview to the Labour Party newspaper ‘Labour Weekly’. Seeking to defend MPs, Ashton insisted that the number who were guilty of corruption ‘could be counted on the fingers of one hand’. Newspapers demanded that Joe name the guilty five MPs.
In the late 1970s, Ashton served as a junior Minister in Callaghan’s Gov’t – which was concealing the abuse of children and vulnerable people. Ashton saw himself as the shop steward for the PLP, which must have taken him into interesting realms.
In March 1999, it was said by the Chief Constable of Northampton Police Chris Fox that Ashton had given ‘misleading information’ to police officers after he was found on the premises of a Northampton Thai massage parlour during a police raid in November 1998. Mr Fox claimed that police officers had been forced to run a computer check to check the MP’s identity and that Mr Ashton was subsequently interviewed by police in the presence of his solicitor and declined to give a witness statement. He was not accused of committing any offence.
After the raid on the massage parlour in Northampton in Nov 1998, four people were arrested on suspicion of committing sexual offences. Mr Ashton denied that he had taken part in or paid for any sexual services at the parlour and denied that he had given ‘inaccurate particulars’ of his name and address. Ashton stated that he considered calling for a full Police Complaints Authority inquiry into how his name had been leaked to newspapers. Ashton claimed that the reports in Sunday tabloid newspapers could have only come from Northamptonshire Police and warned that he might take the matter up with the Data Protection Registrar.
The Chief Constable said that no official complaint had been received, but the force had its reputation and integrity to protect and would treat seriously any allegations of breaches of confidentiality. He would be writing to Mr Ashton to ask him to substantiate his allegations that his police force might have been responsible for leaking details.
The Mail on Sunday claimed that Ashton discussed the possibility of resigning his seat with Labour Party officials after the story broke. It was claimed that Mr Ashton was to end his political career amid ’embarrassing new disclosures’ about the visit to the sauna. However it alleged that Labour officials, facing possible by-elections in Newark and Glasgow as a result of court cases against MPs Fiona Jones and Mohammed Sarwar, persuaded Ashton not to stand down.
Northamptonshire police raided the massage parlour as part of a joint investigation with immigration service officials. They were looking into allegations that vulnerable Thai girls were being smuggled into Britain to work illegally as prostitutes. The Mail on Sunday tracked down the 21-year-old Thai masseuse who was with Mr Ashton at the time of the raid. She confirmed that Mr Ashton had paid for an ordinary body massage and had not mentioned sex. The paper stated that the girl had been offered £10,000 to say that she had full sex with Mr Ashton but would not lie. Whether somebody then paid her even more money not to lie about not having full sex with Mr Ashton was not clarified.
Joe, I don’t mind if you do have full sex in massage parlours, but if you do, I strongly believe that the people having sex with you should not be coerced into doing so. Your mate Kinnock and the rest afforded protection to a gang of Top Doctors who were coercing vulnerable people into sex work. It could be argued that you genuinely didn’t realise that the Thai girl with whom you did not have sex was trafficked, but everyone who covered the arses of Dafydd and Tony Francis et al most definitely knew that their victims were being coerced.
Joe Ashton decided to stand down as an MP and resign as a Director of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club after he did not have sex with anyone in the Thai massage parlour nonetheless.
I will introduce here another man who joined the Labour Party whilst the Windbag was leader, Dr Sam Galbraith. Sam Galbraith was born in Lancashire and went to school at Greenock High School and then studied medicine at the University of Glasgow. In 1978 he was appointed as consultant neurosurgeon at Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital. Galbraith was elected as the Labour MP for Strathkelvin and Bearsden in 1987 and in 1997 was elected for the same constituency as MSP. Galbraith was Minister for Health at the Scottish Office and was then Opposition Spokesman on Health and Scottish Affairs, 1988-92, before switching to Education. Galbraith served as Minister for Children and Education in the Scottish Executive under Donald Dewar, 1999-2000 and then as Minister for Environment, Sport and Culture. On 20 March 2001 he announced his resignation from Ministerial office and his Parliamentary seats for health reasons.
Sam Galbraith’s career begged many questions. He made a highly unusual career move in 1987 when he gave up neurosurgery to enter politics and a lot of Top Doctors were very critical of him – they considered that he was too valuable to waste on politics. The Labour Party however couldn’t believe their luck. I used to think that political parties tripped over themselves to bag a Top Doctor because it was such good PR. I now know that it is because the Top Doctors are a nightmare to deal with and PMs will do almost anything to have someone who can hold their own in NHS negotiations with Top Doctors. Yet the excitement over Galbraith’s arrival in the Labour Party was more than usual.
The Windbag was leader when Galbraith announced his intentions to become a Labour MP before the 1987 General Election and everyone really maxed out on providing the media with info about the Superman who was joining them. The broadsheets ran features on Sam who was not only a brain surgeon, but a mountaineer to boot and someone who maintained that he was from working class origins. Sam gave tear-jerking interviews and talked about how he used to cycle past the Glasgow shipyards when he was a medical student and thought about all his mates labouring away in there and how he was going to Change Things. Everybody got very excited and talked about Sam being a future PM.
Sam was also going to sort out the terrible health outcomes and inequalities in Scotland – not that he and his Top Doctor colleagues had ever made a blind bit of difference to that particular situation.
Once Sam entered the Commons things livened up. Sam it transpired was a complete bastard. He fell out with civil servants and politicians and insulted people at a rate of knots that put Dr Death to shame. ‘Private Eye’ began publishing stories about the bust-ups that Galbraith was having and at one point someone – I think it was Prezza – told Galbraith that he might have made a career out of opening heads but if he didn’t fuck off someone would open his.
For his part Galbraith told them that they were a bunch of thick idiots who’d never had real jobs and he didn’t give a stuff if they didn’t like him.
Things did not get any better when Galbraith was given Ministerial positions. There was scandal after scandal and everywhere he went there were demands for his resignation. Sam told everyone to take a running jump and that he would not be resigning – although other people had to resign as a result of the cock-ups. In interviews it was a case of Je ne regrette rien and even better Sam stated that he never took any notice of what anybody else said anyway because consulting other people wasn’t a good idea. As Scottish Health Minister, in Jan 1999 Sam came under fire for bed shortages within the NHS. Dr Keith Little, the Director of Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, resigned over the matter, saying that he was unable to care for patients properly. It didn’t hold Sam back, First Secretary Donald Dewar just loved him even more and promoted him to the Scottish Cabinet.
Health inequalities in Scotland remained.
The best that anyone ever got out of Galbraith when he screwed up was with regard to the fiasco at the Scottish Qualifications Authority in 2000 when he was Education Minister and thousands of Scottish students received incorrect results and couldn’t take up their university places. Galbraith stated that he knew that it was a mess, therefore he was the man to remain in post and put it right. Sam will have learnt that as a Top Doctor.
Alistair Darling – a mate of Galbraith’s – told everybody that Sam might seem like a total shitbag but he wasn’t really. When Dewar died Galbraith was given the Environment portfolio by Dewar’s successor Henry McLeish.
Another dimension to Sam the Superman was his lung transplant. In 1989 when Galbraith was 44, he was diagnosed with the chronic lung disease fibrosing alveolitis – his sister had died from the same condition. In 1990, Sam Galbraith was given two years to live – three if he was lucky. He received a lung transplant – mysteriously quickly as well- and was only the 13th person in the UK to undergo the procedure, which was performed at Freeman’s Hospital in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. The Unit was headed by a surgeon who had been one of Galbraith’s junior doctors.
Superman survived beyond all expectations, although he spent the rest of his life looking like death warmed up. He was delighted to find that he became the longest surviving lung transplant patient in Britain – possibly the world. It was put it down to Galbraith’s superhuman qualities and Galbraith himself banged on about the wonders of the NHS.
I do not believe that Galbraith’s miraculous survival was the result of the sort of fraud which I suspect that Dame Julia Polak perpetrated (see post ‘I Don’t Believe It!’). I attribute his longevity to the fact that as a Top Doctor he will have got the best treatment. Top Doctors tend to ensure that they don’t make mistakes on each other – and Top Doctors know which dangerous idiots to avoid. They don’t go to Dafydd and Galbraith wouldn’t have gone to any surgeon whom he knew to be not up to much.
I have only just found out that Galbraith didn’t approach the Labour Party because he wanted to go into politics. Galbraith stated that he only went into politics because he ‘was asked’. Who asked him he did not say – but before the 1987 General Election, which Kinnock and Kinnock’s friend Tony Francis in Ysbyty Gwynedd thought that the Windbag was going to win, someone asked Galbraith to stand as a Labour candidate.
Despite all the huffing and puffing about Sam’s desire To Serve for the sake of Social Justice, Sam didn’t make many sacrifices. He refused to base himself in London when the Windbag asked him to and Sam even had Gov’t chauffeurs taking him out to his boat from Glasgow. Sam’s wife was a Top Doctor and he made it very clear that he would be spending his time in Glasgow with her. When the Windbag made Galbraith Shadow Scottish Health Minister within a year of Galbraith’s election, the Windbag soon confirmed the scrapping of Labour’s commitment to absorb private hospitals into the NHS. In 1992 John Smith made Galbraith a UK employment spokesman, but the next year Galbraith left the front bench for his family. In 1997 Blair appointed Galbraith Scottish Health and Sports Minister. He launched a drive to pump extra funding into areas where he believed the NHS had been letting the public down and a campaign to improve Scotland’s diet and public health. There were allegations that Galbraith had ‘gone native’ at the NHS. Galbraith had never stopped being a native.
This was a man who didn’t give a stuff about ‘social justice’ and ‘serving’ – he was doing the Labour Party such a big favour that he did exactly what he wanted.
Sam remained in a few key powerful positions in the medical establishment as a politician – he found time to serve on the GMC and the Executive of MSF and to act as President of the Medical Practitioners’ Union. He also continued to do a bit of work at Southern General Hospital.
My post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part V’ discussed yet another north Wales conundrum. As the Waterhouse Inquiry approached, panic seized the paedophiles’ friends. Tony Francis started cracking up and there was a mass exodus from the Hergest Unit. One of the paedophiles’ friends who did a runner was a Top Doctor called Gwen Jones-Edwards. Gwen Jones-Edwards carried on a bit like Tony Francis with a patient who was a friend of mine. She gave every appearance of being very friendly and helpful but when my friend obtained his medical records years later, Gwen had done some seriously weird things that she must have known would be very damaging. I found out five years ago that Gwen Jones-Edwards had bagged herself the job as Clinical Director of Southern General Hospital. Southern General is a flagship hospital, has received billions of pounds of investment from the Scottish Gov’t and is one of the western world’s leading neurosurgery centres. Gwen Jones-Edwards was not a neurosurgeon, she was a jobbing psychiatrist who worked in a toxic unit in a toxic NHS Trust and she and her colleagues facilitated a sex trafficking ring.
Galbraith died in 2014 but he was very much alive when Gwen Jones-Edwards landed that job at Southern General. We can’t ask the Windbag’s mate Tony Francis how his colleague Gwen landed the job because he killed himself when Operation Pallial reopened the investigation into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal.
Perhaps the Windbag would like to tell us exactly who asked Galbraith to join the Labour Party in time for the 1987 General Election – just when Alison Taylor, Mary Wynch and I were coming forward with evidence of serious criminality in north Wales and the Windbag’s mate Tony Francis was at the centre of it. Galbraith was elected just two weeks or so before Tony Francis, Dafydd, Risley Remand Centre, Gwynedd and Clwyd Health Authorities and the Mental Health Act Commission conspired to frame and imprison me for ‘attempting to stab a doctor’ (see post ‘Workers Play Time’).
Lord Jim Wallace was someone who really rated Galbraith as an ‘advisor’. Jim Wallace was a barrister and a Scottish Liberal politician who was involved with that Party when Jeremy Thorpe was still busy. Wallace has been both Deputy First Minister and Acting First Minister of Scotland. He was the MP for Orkney at the time of the Orkney Child Abuse Scandal and Lord Jim knows a great deal about the organised abuse of children and the blaming of innocent family members in order to conceal it – his career benefited greatly from this (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – The Scottish Play’).
The long and noble condition of scrapping among themselves in the Labour Party continues to the present day. Debbie Abrahams, MP for Saddleworth and Oldham, is making one hell of a fuss about the bullying problem which she maintains plagues the Labour Party – although the dispute between Debbie and the Labour Party hierarchy began when she was accused of bullying some of her staff herself. Debbie has stood down as Shadow Spokesman for Work and Pensions – Jezza says she left the post of her own free will, Debbie claims to have been forced out.
Abrahams was born in Sheffield – her dad was a dentist. She was privately educated, then studied biochemistry and physiology at the University of Salford. Her early employment was as a community worker for a charity in Wythenshawe Manchester. She later studied for a Master’s degree at the University of Liverpool. Abrahams was head of healthy cities for Knowsley and served on the Board of Bury and Rochdale Health Authority.
In 2002 Abrahams was appointed Chair of Rochdale PCT. She was Director of the International Health Impact Assessment Consortium at the University of Liverpool, 2006-10. She married John Abrahams, a former captain of Lancashire County Cricket team. They have two daughters, both of whom were sent to private schools, despite Abrahams ‘being opposed’ to selective education.
She resigned from the Chair of Rochdale PCT in 2007 over the use of private health companies in the NHS. She then joined the Labour Party, declaring that she wanted ‘to challenge health policy at a local and national level’. Abrahams was appointed by Simon Danczuk then Labour candidate for Rochdale, as his advisor on health and she stood for Rochdale Borough Council in the 2008 local elections. She criticised the local council in Rochdale for failing to address health inequalities in Rochdale.
Abrahams has been PPS to Andy Burnham – he who spent years concealing the hundreds of deaths at Mid-Staffs – and was elected Chair of the PLP’s Health Committee. In 2014, she organised an Inquiry Into The Effectiveness Of International Health Systems.
In Sept 2015, Abrahams was appointed Shadow Minister for Disabled People by Jezza in recognition on her work with disabled people in the past. Every part of Debbie’s career has involved working in health and social care in places where there has been rampant abuse of vulnerable people which was ignored by everyone. Abrahams was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in June 2016.
Thank goodness the Windbag and the modernisers sorted the Labour Party out.
The Welsh Gov’t Minister for Social Care and Public Health Rebecca Evans appeared on Radio 4 on Sunday morning, discussing homelessness on Anglesey. Rebecca conceptualised the problem entirely in terms of the personal deficit of homeless people – Rebecca spoke the language of therapy and drug problems and mental health problems and how the Welsh Gov’t was working with the Third sector and had now found a ‘model’ which could be applied across the board. I nearly died from despair. Rebecca – homeless people do not need a ‘model’, they need somewhere to live. Some homeless people do have drug and mental health problems but a great many don’t, they just can’t afford anywhere to live and this has become a problem in north Wales as well now. As for those people who do have mental health and drug problems – for Christ’s sake sort out the mental health services who have been abusing their patients for decades and stop giving millions to Dafydd and CAIS to provide ‘substance abuse services’. Furthermore, I doubt that decades of corruption on the part of Anglesey County Council, particularly in the housing dept there, will have helped.
The homeless problem in Holyhead was discussed by Rebecca, as well as rural homelessness. Deprivation in Holyhead has never been a secret. In 2000 the teachers in Holyhead School knew of children who were being abused and neglected and of one 15 year old boy who was homeless and sleeping on Holyhead railyway station. Some of the teachers were horrified and cared very deeply about such matters but they felt completely impotent in the face of the idiots running that school who were only interested in advancing themselves. I’m talking about you Margaret Chantrell and Gerald Hewitson – a pair of fuckwits who were allowed to drive that school into the ground and who dripped with contempt for the pupils and their own staff. Hewitson was very lucky not to have faced sexual harassment charges after his conduct towards trainee teachers. Then there was Gill Dennis, whom Hewitson appointed as ‘mentor’ to the student teachers – who blamed the serious problems caused by Hewitson on the student teachers. Why did Dennis agree to become a mentor for the teaching students? Because she hated working at Holyhead School so much that she wanted a job somewhere else and needed a good reference from Gerald Hewitson, so was doing all that she could to make the incompetent old fool’s life easy.
The whole of north Wales knew that Holyhead School was in meltdown. The teachers used to comment on the embarrassment of working there and how the train from Holyhead to Bangor in the morning was full of Holyhead kids going to school in Bangor because their parents had withdrawn them from Holyhead School. No-one did anything. Everyone knew that the place was in crisis and that the classroom teachers were in despair, but the charade continued with Chantrell and Hewitson bollocking on about local people ‘not supporting the school’. It wasn’t local people who were the problem, it was Hewitson and Chentrell – and the people on the Governing body and in Anglesey County Council who let that mess continue.
Glenys Kinnock is a famous old pupil of Holyhead School. Dawn French and Albert Owen went to school there as well. Albert Owen is currently the MP for Ynys Mon. The names of those three are bandied around to reassure everyone that there are no problems at Holyhead School, it is just the dysfunctional kids and their terrible families…
Things become ever more farcical at the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Betsi is proud to be leading the field once more – it is the first Health Board to provide specialist guidelines regarding caring for transgender people with dementia. This is a Health Board which is in special measures after being the centre of the biggest dementia scandal that the UK has yet seen. Patients in Tawel Fan ward were crawling around naked on floors swimming in urine and faeces and one patient had an untreated fractured arm. The only member of staff to lose their job as a result was the nurse who blew the whistle on it, Nicola Kingston, who was sacked and then struck off after facing a kangaroo court at which she was found guilty of having sex with a patient – namely her own husband.
Margaret Hanson, the Vice-Chair of the Betsi, made media comments about the ‘unique’ group which is transgender people with dementia. Hanson was previously a children’s social worker for Cheshire Social Services whilst a paedophile ring operated in the ‘service’, so nothing should surprise us from Margaret Hanson. Margaret is married to David Hanson, Blair’s former PPS (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part II’).
A group of midwives from Swansea have been going out to Zimbabwe to show Johnny Foreigner how to do it probably. As the UK maternity services are currently a source of concern and discontent and the UK has some of the poorest outcomes for mothers and babies in Europe, I’m not sure that we have much to teach Zimbabwe. Isn’t the NHS busy poaching healthcare professionals from everywhere else including Zimbabwe to make good our own deficits anyway? Swansea Social Services I think are still in special measures as a result of a number of high profile scandals in which children in their care came to harm.
Two long serving workers with Amey, the company providing ‘services’ for Liverpool Prison, have been sacked after they raised concerns about health and safety.
Powys Children’s Services have finally collapsed because no-one will work for them.
The icing on the cake at the moment is that a group of MPs want to force the Commons Speaker John Bercow out of his position on the grounds that he is an unsavoury bully. Bercow is rude enough to everyone on camera, so I can only imagine how he conducts himself when no-one’s watching. There is a campaign to install Harriet Harman instead. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Ken Dodd has died. I will shortly be writing a post about Ken Dodd and the court cases with which he was involved, not just the high profile tax evasion one – I’ll be writing about a few other celebrity scousers as well. I had planned to have the post written by now, but then I watched the documentaries about the Windbag…
