Badlands

One of my comments which followed my post ‘Rivers Of Blood’ provided a brief bit of background information about events in the early 1990s when the paedophile gang launched an attack on Graham Day, a senior sociologist at Bangor University and caused much grief in the process. ‘The Guardian’ were happy to publish the lies and false allegations of the paedophiles’ friends which resulted in the smeared sociologist being harassed by the world’s media. At about that time, the paedophiles’ friends misled and then screwed over one member of staff at Bangor University so badly that he attempted suicide. The one person to offer him support after the suicide bid was Graham, who had been attacked by ‘The Guardian’. I don’t think that Peter Preston ever published anything about that.

I was reminded of this when I heard Alan Rusbridger interviewed on Radio 4 about his new book, ‘Breaking News’. Rusbridger took over the editorship of ‘The Guardian’ from Preston; Rusbridger was a senior journo on ‘The Guardian’ when Peter Preston provided so much help to a gang of paedophiles who were under investigation by the police and who really hated an honest sociologist and wanted him out of his job. Rusbridger knew what was happening in north Wales at the time.

Alan Rusbridger stepped down as Editor of ‘The Guardian’ in 2014 and is now Principal of Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. He is visiting Fellow of Nuffield College, Oxford and Visiting Professor of History at Queen Mary, University of London. Between 2004 and 2013 Rusbridger was Chair of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. He is a governor of the Ditchley Foundation.

When ‘The Guardian’ published what they knew were lies fed to them by a trafficking gang, the Chairman of the Scott Trust, which owns ‘The Guardian’, was Hugo Young.

Hugo Young was born in Sheffield into an old recusant family. He was head boy at Ampleforth College. In recent years it has been acknowledged that for decades there was serious abuse of children at Ampleforth which was concealed by the Catholic Church (see previous posts’). A Top Doc has explained in comments on this blog that Top Docs knew about the abuse at Ampleforth and about the wider paedophile ring in Yorkshire and made ludicrous excuses to take no action, even in the face of children with anal injuries.

Hugo Young read law at Balliol College, Oxford and began working for the ‘Yorkshire Post’ in Leeds in 1961. In 1963, Young spent a year as a Harkness Fellow in the US and he spent the next year working as a congressional fellow. In 1965, Young returned to the UK and was recruited by Denis Hamilton of ‘The Sunday Times’. In his second year there, Young became chief leader writer, a position he kept until 1977. From 1973–84, he was also the political editor for ‘The Sunday Times’. He was joint Deputy Editor of ‘The Sunday Times’ from 1981, but his relationship with the paper cooled notably when Murdoch took the ‘The Sunday Times’ over in 1981. The conflict culminated in a series of battles with Editor Brillo, which ultimately led to Young leaving The Sunday Times and joining The Guardian in 1984.

Young continued to write a twice-weekly political column at The Guardian until his death and was widely acclaimed as one of the most important and influential figures in modern British journalism. Young remained on good terms with British Gov’t Ministers, including Blair and Thatch. He wrote a critical biography of Thatch, One of Us (1989), but didn’t mention that her two close friends Jimmy Savile and Sir Peter Morrison were known to be molesting children while supping with her. Young wrote other books, including This Blessed Plot: Britain And Europe From Churchill To Blair (1998).

Young’s Yorkshire/Leeds background and his position as a big beast in the media will have meant that he knew Mark Byford, the former Deputy DG of the BBC and Head of BBC journalism, 2004-11. Mark Byford’s dad was Sir Lawrence Byford, HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary between Jan 1983-March 1987. Between 1979 and 1983, Lawrence Byford was a regional Inspector of Constabulary. Byford had served as a senior officer with the endemically corrupt West Yorkshire Police – throughout the years when Jimmy Savile enjoyed a very cosy relationship with that force. Byford was HMI Chief Inspector of Constabulary while Dafydd and the gang in north Wales were causing havoc and when the utterly rotten North Wales Police colluded with and even assisted them, as well as during the years when the British police stood accused of acting as the personal army of the Thatcher’s Gov’t. See post ‘Top Of The Cops’.

Mark Byford’s boss at the BBC was DG Mark Thompson, under Chairman Michael Grade, frequent star of this blog and someone else who wilfully ignored serious crime committed by a gang of traffickers and did favours for those in high places who facilitated that gang.

Hugo Young became Chairman of the Scott Trust in 1989 and helped ‘The Guardian’ through important developments such as the purchase of ‘The Observer’. Young died in 2003, so was still there to help with the fall-out from the Waterhouse Inquiry and Waterhouse Report. I’m only surprised that ‘The Guardian’ didn’t launch another attack on Graham Day. Or indeed on me.

Here’s Hugo with a corrupt Home Secretary who ignored the serious crimes of Dafydd and the gang, with Peter Hain peeping around the corner:

There is now an annual Hugo Young lecture, organised by ‘The Guardian’ in Young’s memory. Those who have delivered the Hugo Young lecture include Cameron, Nick Clegg, Ed Miliband and Alex Salmond.

My post ‘The Cry Of The Lunatic’ promised information about Ronnie Campbell, the Labour MP for Blyth Valley. Ronnie succeeded the crook John Ryman, who had succeeded Eddie Milne, a Labour MP who had taken on the endemic civic corruption in the region and had his career destroyed as a result.

Ronald Campbell was elected for Blyth Valley in 1987.  He was born in Tynemouth, attended Blyth Ridley County High School and left at 14 to become a coal miner. Campbell worked as a miner between 1958 and 1986; before entering Parliament he was a lay official of the NUM, led picket lines in the 1984-85 miners’ strike and was arrested twice. Campbell was also a District Councillor on Blyth Valley Borough Council from 1969. So he was a Councillor in the north east during the years when the Councillors in that region were endemically corrupt and participating in the sort of enormous wrongdoing which involved people like John Poulson and T. Dan Smith that Campbell’s predecessor Eddie Milne tried to challenge, only to find his political career ruined (see post ‘The Cry Of The Lunatic’ and other posts). Campbell was of course serving as a District Councillor for Blyth Valley Borough Council when the Councils in the north east were hosting a trafficking ring linked to Dafydd et al in north Wales and were sending kids in care to north Wales children’s homes.

Arthur Scargill was a good mate of Michael Mansfield QC, one of the many radical lawyers who kept quiet about organised abuse and trafficking across the UK, including in north Wales, although I wrote to him in 1993 about what was happening to me at the hands of Gwynedd Social Services and the courts. Mansfield famously acted for Scargill when Scargill was arrested during the miners’ strike. Other people involved in Supporting The Miners also turned their backs on those targeted by criminal trafficking gangs. Meleri Tudor, a lawyer from north Wales, was one of those who gave her expertise free of charge to miners during the strike, yet managed to witness en masse perjury and conspiracy in an attempt by Dafydd’s gang to have me imprisoned and not mention anything to anyone about this (see post ‘It’s Just Another Gold Digger’).

Meleri told me quite a bit about her work during the miners’ strike, including her conversations with people in mining communities who read the press coverage of their behaviour and said to Meleri ‘I didn’t realise that the newspapers lied’. Meleri knew that newspapers lied, she knew that mountains of garbage was published for years regarding the non-existence of the paedophile ring in north Wales and she knew that the newspapers were lying when they maintained that people complaining of being abused in north Wales were liars seeking financial reward. Meleri also knew that ‘The Guardian’ was publishing lies when it accused that senior sociologist at Bangor University of discriminating against Welsh people…

Ronnie Campbell often voted against Blair’s Gov’t on issues such as the Iraq War, being an outspoken member on the left of the Party. When the Gov’t nationalised Northern Rock in 2008, Campbell declared it ‘the People’s Bank’ and opened an account. In May 2009, during the MPs expenses scandal, Campbell agreed to return over £6,000 that he had claimed for furnishings in his London home.

In 2013, Campbell was one of 22 Labour MPs to vote against same-sex marriage.

Upon re-election in May 2015, Campbell announced that he would stand down at the next general election, although this did not materialise.

Campbell was one of 36 Labour MPs to nominate Jeremy Corbyn as a candidate in the Labour leadership election of 2015 and one of a handful of Labour MPs to publicly support leaving the EU.

Campbell was one of thirteen MPs to vote against triggering the 2017 General Election. Having previously said that he would stand down at the next election, he changed his mind stating: ‘It was my intention to stand down at the next general election, however due to circumstances following the announcement of the snap election I have decided to stand again for Blyth Valley.’

Ronnie married Deirdre McHale in 1967, who serves on Northumberland County Council.

In September 2016, Campbell underwent chemotherapy after being diagnosed with stomach cancer and returned to Parliament on 30 November 2016. Just as well that you and Deirdre never mentioned that huge paedophile ring which has operated in the north east for most of your adult life then Ronnie, or you might have found that somehow the Top Docs couldn’t treat you for that stomach cancer! Having said that, where stomach cancer is concerned it was a close run thing anyway. In 1990, the paedophiles’ friends of Ysbyty Gwynedd, assisted by none other than Sir Richard Doll no less, needing to generate a bit of good PR for themselves, perpetrated a laughable research fraud regarding the supposed cause of stomach cancer, which had it not been exposed within weeks would have thrown a spanner in the works regarding that whole field of research (see post ‘They Think It’s All Over – It Is Now’). Not that it held their careers back – one of them has spent the last few decades teaching statistics to psychology students at Bangor University and another one ended up leading the clinical trials unit at Bangor University.

My post ‘No Cuts’ provided details of Tony Benn’s career, another Champion of the Oppressed who ignored the organised abuse of vulnerable people, even when I wrote to him about it. Despite his undying loyalty to the white collar criminals who were sexually exploiting children and vulnerable adults, Tony Benn nevertheless went for a belt and braces approach and ensured that he remained very, very good mates with them all at St Thomas’s Hospital, an institution which not only employed/employs a few of those who directly protected Dafydd and the gang, but which also has a sizeable proportion of very rich Top Docs who run lucrative Harley Street practices as well as pulling in fat NHS salaries.

Tony Benn was a fourth generation MP – his father, his paternal grandfather Lord Stansgate and his great-grandfathers Sir John Benn and Daniel Holmes were all MPs, mostly with factions of the Liberal Party. Benn’s own children – and grandchildren – are politically active as well. Benn’s son Hilary became a Labour MP and was notoriously Blairite/centrist, at a time when Blair was known to loathe Tony Benn. Tony Benn always stressed that Hilary being to the right of him politically never caused any strain between them.

Hilary James Wedgwood Benn has been the Labour MP for Leeds Central since 1999. Hilary will therefore have known about Jimmy Savile’s activities in the Leeds area, including in the NHS there. Hilary will also remember the case of the two Yorkshire psychiatrists, Michael Haslam and William Kerr, who raped and sexually abused female patients for decades. Complaints were repeatedly made over a period of years by more than 100 patients but were ignored. One brave Angel who spoke out was demoted. An academic at Leeds University threatened to go public on what Kerr and Haslam were doing and was told that he’d lose his job if he did. Kerr and Haslam’s offending finally became public in 1996, at the end of their careers (see post ‘All The Ingredients Of A Scandal’). They both retired with their pensions intact and only Haslam went to prison, in 2003 – Kerr provided medical evidence of illness – and that was for a matter of just a few months. It was also revealed that the women whom these Top Docs had repeatedly assaulted were not permitted to have recorded upon their medical records that they had been assaulted by the Top Doctors who had compiled their records and described the nature of their ‘problems’.

When Kerr and Haslam were finally exposed, MIND spokespeople were all over the media expressing their outrage. At the time, I was repeatedly raising my concerns regarding the mistreatment of patients in north Wales at the hands of Dafydd et al only to be ignored by everyone, including MIND.

Dafydd held ‘clinics’ in Yorkshire, including in, of all places, the Queen’s Hotel, Leeds. Jimmy Savile hung out at the Queen’s Hotel Leeds and lay in state there after his death.Sir Jimmy Savile's funeral held in Leeds - BBC News

When Dafydd finally turns his toes up, I look forward to his coffin being pulled through the streets of north Wales by black horses with their manes plaited a la Ronnie Kray, while the route is lined with weeping mourners throwing flowers at the coffin.

Perhaps Dafydd can be buried on Church Island at Menai Bridge, a sort of north Wales variant of Princess Di’s resting place.

‘We didn’t know.’

Neither of course did Hilary Benn.

Hilary served in the Cabinet, 2003-10, under both Blair and Brown. From 2010 to 2016, Hilary served in various Labour Party Shadow Cabinets, most recently as Shadow Foreign Secretary, May 2015 until June 2016, when he was dismissed by Jeremy. In October 2016, Hilary was elected as the Chair of the Exiting the European Union Select Committee.

Hilary was the second son of Tony and Caroline Benn – Caroline was an educationalist who also kept quiet about the abuse of children (see post ‘No Cuts’). Hilary studied at Sussex University, which has excellent radical credentials, but is also located near Brighton, along with the brothels owned by John Allen, who trafficked kids from north Wales to those brothels. A number of senior figures at Sussex University have been complicit with concealing organised abuse and Merfyn Jones, a former Sussex student from north Wales who spilt the paedophiles’ pints decades ago has never been allowed to forget it. Neither have any of Merfyn’s friends or indeed members of his family. See post ‘Anthem For Doomed Youth’. Merfyn later became VC of Bangor University and while he was in that role, some rather odd things were happening at Bangor University. Such as my computer being stolen by John McTernan’s brother-in-law – that was in 2005. Hilary was in Blair’s Cabinet at the time. Hilary, do you have any idea why Blair’s adviser’s brother-in-law might have made off with my computer?

By the way Hilary, among the many seriously bizarre people whom Brown and I found ourselves approached by over the many years since we complained about a paedophile gang who were murdering witnesses, was someone who asked me to accompany them to the Labour Party conference who said that they wanted to introduce me to your dad. This was just after John McTernan’s brother-in-law stole my computer. The person who wanted to introduce me to your dad was someone called Rachel, whom I later found out was transgender. I only discovered that because, after asking me and Brown to act as ‘expert witnesses’ in court to get her off driving offences and then offering us money to do it when we said no, Rachel told me that she had been abused by a therapist in Brighton called Karen and sent me heaps of documents relating to it all. Among the documents was a statement from Karen in which Karen said that she was very angry that Rachel had not told her that she had previously been male. Karen also alleged that Rachel had admitted to past membership of fascist groups and taking part in violent attacks on gays and blacks. Rachel e mailed me stressing that this allegation was CRAP.

Rachel was an HGV driver and was in danger of losing her licence as a result of a drink driving charge, which is why she had the bright idea of asking Brown and me to falsely represent ourselves in return for money to get her out of trouble. Rachel told me that a Top Doctor had helpfully lied on oath for her the last time that she was caught bladdered behind the wheel. I stressed that we were not lying Top Docs, we were honest sociologists.

Rachel also gave me a great deal of dirt on Diane Abbott whom she seemed to know and told me all about the role that she (Rachel) played in the attempt to get John McDonnell elected as Labour Party leader a few years ago. Rachel certainly had an exciting life, I’m not surprised that a drip of a therapist was completely confused by her. One thing that I was never able to understand was Rachel’s desire for the body of Bill Clinton, which she told me about as well.

Strange but true

At one point Rachel was threatening to come to north Wales to see me. So I told everyone whom I knew that if they spotted an HGV lorry travelling in the direction of Caernarfon with a drunk transgendered person behind the wheel, could they please tip me off so that I could make myself scarce.

Rachel was most disappointed when I refused to accompany her to the Labour Party conference to meet Wedgie Benn and John McDonnell et al, but I’d realised by then that there was no telling what was going to happen to me if I ever met Rachel in the flesh, so I made my excuses in the tradition of a good ‘News Of The World’ reporter. Rachel did try her hardest though, she left eleven mad messages for me on my boss’s answer machine and then started ringing up a whole variety of people in the University, asking them if they knew me.

Do you happen to know Rachel Hilary? Was she a regular chez Tony and Caroline?

After graduating, Hilary worked as a research officer for ASTMS and was then Head of Policy for MSF. Regular readers will remember that it was the corrupt MSF reps David Hole and his mates who colluded with the wrongdoing at St George’s Hospital Medical School and used their knowledge of patient harm and serious crime – including the facilitating of Dafydd’s trafficking ring in north Wales and the linked ring which operated in south London – to shore up their own positions (see previous posts).

My documents contain letters to Wandsworth Social Services – who were colluding with Dafydd et al as well as running the south London gang – from Dr Tony Francis, explaining how dangerous I was and that if they needed further information about the threat that I posed to other people, they were welcome to write to Lucille Hughes for further info. I have never met Lucille Hughes. See previous posts eg ‘Some Very Eminent Psychiatrists From London’.

After Dr Tony Francis took early retirement from the NHS – following a well-publicised breakdown and after falling out with the rest of the paedophiles’ friends – he enrolled for a history degree at Bangor University. The VC of Bangor who received such grief from the paedophiles’ friends held a Chair in the School of History.

Dr Sadie Francis followed her husband into retirement a few years after, as the paedophiles’ friends at the Hergest Unit began to rip each others throats out. Sadie enrolled for a course in Bangor University’s School of Lifelong Learning. The Head of Lifelong Learning at that time was dear old Meri Huws, who in the 1980s had been a community social worker employed by Gwynedd Social Services. Meri’s patch had included the Ty’r Felin children’s home, where children were abused and trafficked, including to Dolphin Square (see post ‘Are You Local?’).

Hilary Benn was Head of Policy at MSF when MSF was using to its maximum advantage the conviction of Professor Oliver Brooke at St George’s for the possession of child porn. A number of St George’s consultants were also discovered in Cynthia Payne’s brothel for members of high society at Ambleside Avenue in Streatham during the various police raids on Cynthia’s place, but that info was never made public. See post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part III’.

After joining the Labour Party, Benn was elected as a Councillor on Ealing Borough Council in 1979, on which he served for several years, rising to the rank of Deputy Leader, 1986-90. When I worked at St George’s, one of the obstetricians there lived at Ealing. When I was doing my MSc at Royal Postgraduate Medical School/Hammersmith Hospital, one of my fellow postgrads was a dentist who lived at Ealing. Neither of these Ealing residents, to my knowledge, were abusing their positions themselves, but they knew that other people were and kept quiet.

After the 1997 General Election, Benn was appointed as a Spad to David Blunkett, then the Secretary of State for Education and Employment. By 1997, there had been scandal after scandal regarding the abuse of children in schools, particularly special schools and residential schools. Many of those scandals had concerned schools in north Wales. In 1997, the Waterhouse Inquiry was underway and Ronnie Waterhouse was hearing about the most serious abuse of children in residential schools/schools attached to children’s homes in north Wales. Blunkett has been around since the dawn of time, he knew all about Dafydd and the related gangs, as well as Jimmy Savile – after all Blunkett ran the People’s Republic of Sheffield, 1980-87 – and in his role as Home Secretary, Blunkett concealed further layers of wrongdoing by Dafydd et al and awarded a medal for ‘good citizenship’ to a woman who lived in Gwynedd who had a track record of intimidating ‘service users’ who lived in her village. This Good Citizen has a close relative who raped a six year old girl, but it was made quite clear to me by a Top Doctor and his lovely wife – who is an aspiring Lady Vicar – that I had to keep my mouth shut about that. See earlier posts for info about David Blunkett’s previous.

Since Labour’s defeat at the 2010 General Election, Benn has served on the front bench in the Shadow Cabinets of Harriet, Ed Miliband and Jezza. Harriet’s dad was a Harley Street Top Doctor, as was her granddad and Ed’s Uncle Harry was of course a consultant at Guy’s and Tommy’s, along with Dafydd’s mates and protectors.

In 2002, Hilary Benn became the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Prisons and Probation in the Home Office, serving as a Deputy to Lord Charlie Falconer as Minister of State (Criminal Justice). At the Home Office, Benn led a task force investigating internet paedophilia, which subsequently recommended the introduction of the new offence of ‘grooming’.  In January 2003, Hilary had responsibility for introducing the Sexual Offences Bill in the Commons.

It was while Hilary was at the Home Office that the paedophiles’ friends participated in yet another round of industrial scale perjury in another attempt to have me imprisoned – that time for ‘threats to kill’. Alun Davies, the senior NHS manager who was a key mover and shaker in it all, told everyone who would listen that I would be going to prison for seven years. I was on bail for two years, during which time I lost my job and my house. The case collapsed on the first day of the trial, when it was clear that eight or so Angels as well as Alun Davies had lied to the police. See post ‘Interesting Happenings In The Legal System’. There was no investigation into the perjury or into an assault on me by an Angel and three Angelic assistants.

Hilary Benn served as Secretary of State for the Dept of International Development, 2003-07, in Blair’s Gov’t. In 2007, the ‘New Statesman’ noted that ‘Benn’s work at DfID … has often been at odds with the Bush administration’. In particular, an example was Benn’s opposition to the United States policy of increasing abstinence when it came to fighting AIDS in Africa, whereas Benn took a ‘harm reduction’ approach. Benn was also dismissive of US policy, saying: ‘Abstinence-only programmes are fine if you want to abstain, but not everybody does.’ Indeed not Hilary, some of those sexually abusing kids in care in north Wales refused to abstain, even when they contracted HIV, such as Thomas Tyrell-Kenyon, the son of Lloyd Tyrell-Kenyon aka Lord Kenyon. Lord Kenyon was a Director of Lloyds Bank, President of UCNW, Chairman of Clwyd Health Authority, a Flintshire County Councillor, a member of the North Wales Police Authority, the highest ranking Freemason in north Wales and many other things as well (see post ‘A Bit More Paleontology’).

In late October 2006, Benn announced that he would be standing in the 2007 Labour Party Deputy Leadership election. One of his earliest backers was Dennis Skinner, who kept quiet about the paedophile ring on his patch in Derbyshire, which was linked to Dafydd’s gang in north Wales. Like many people of his generation who became big names in the Labour movement, Skinner attended Ruskin College. Matt Arnold, the Head of Bryn Estyn, taught at Ruskin College in the mid-1960s and Peter Howarth, Arnold’s friend and colleague at Axwell Park Approved School and then at Bryn Estyn, was taught by Arnold at Ruskin. John Prescott was a student at Ruskin while Arnold and Howarth were there.

The Lord Prescott managed to remain in high office despite barely being able to string a coherent sentence together – ‘This Labour Gov’t will increase ‘omelessness’ – and punching someone in the chops, twice, when on a walkabout in north Wales. The nation was subsequently entertained when Tracy Temple Opened Her Heart to the ‘Daily Mail’ and supplied details of her Ugandan discussions with Prezza.

Prezza subsequently went for the sympathy vote by claiming to have an eating disorder. He won’t have sought treatment for that at St George’s Hospital Medical School/Springfield Hospital, because an Angel admitted to me that the genius which was Professor Arthur Crisp simply discharged and refused to treat patients who weren’t making a good recovery. That is why Crisp had the best recovery rate among his patients of any Top Doc in the UK. I do hope that Prezza didn’t risk his sanity with The Priory Group either, because their Clinical Lead for Eating Disorders is Dr Adrienne Key, who ‘trained’ and worked at St George’s/ Springfield when those institutions were concealing and facilitating paedophile/trafficking gangs. I used to watch Adrienne shut the door in the face of distressed patients who were trying to talk to her. If the patients still didn’t piss off, Adrienne would shut herself in the Angels’ office and tell the Angels to get rid of them. Therefore an Angel would emerge from the office and yell at the patient to ‘leave Dr Key alone’. If the ward manager Stephanie, a particularly aggressive Australian Angel, was on duty, Stephanie would really push the boat out and swear at the patient. I always expected to see Stephanie opening a can of ale with her teeth, but she must have only drunk when off duty. See previous posts for details of the wonders of Arthur Crisp as well as Adrienne and her glorious career.

In 2007, Benn was the bookmakers’ favourite for the Deputy Leadership of the Labour Party, which was triggered by the resignation of Prezza. In the event Harriet won.

In 2007, Benn was appointed as the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, following Gordon’s election as Leader. Benn succeeded David Miliband in this post and therefore took over what had been Miliband’s responsibility to respond to the threat to cattle from bovine TB. The recommended option from the Chief Scientific Advisor until 2007, Sir David King, was a badger cull. In April 2010, on Benn’s watch, a badger cull was announced in Wales, after the High Court in Cardiff rejected a legal challenge from the Badger Trust.

Bovine TB led to some very strange events in Wales. There is just as much evidence that TB is not transferred to cattle by badgers as there is that badgers do transmit TB, which was why the cull was so controversial. Vets with sound credentials opposed the cull. Anxieties over bovine TB in Wales led to the extraordinary scenes involving Shambo, a bull who became famous. Shambo was a sacred bull who lived in the interfaith Skanda Vale Temple near Llanpumsaint. In April 2007, a routine skin test for bovine TB bovine indicated that Shambo may have been in contact with the bacterium that causes the disease. As a result, the Welsh Government required that Shambo be slaughtered. Skanda Vale disputed this and campaigned for a reprieve. They were backed by the Hindu religious community at large and by other well-wishers. Skanda Vale also set up a camera so that the public could go online and watch Shambo.

Shambo:

On 15 July 2007, Deputy High Court judge Gary Hickinbottom ruled that slaughtering Shambo would be unlawful, since the two slaughter orders had failed to give enough weight to the rights of the monks. He ruled that killing Shambo would violate the human rights of the Skanda Vale community, which has a right to ‘manifest’ its religious faith, according to Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights. A spokesman for the Farmers’ Union of Wales called the ruling ‘ludicrous,’ arguing that it ‘contradicts the principles upon which successful TB eradication programmes throughout the world have been based for generations.’ On 23 July 2007, the Court of Appeal upheld the Welsh Assembly Government’s appeal. Lord Justice Pill said former Rural Affairs Minister Jane Davidson acted lawfully when she refused to make an exception for Shambo as a sacred bull. David Miliband, who was at the time still Secretary of State for DEFRA, confirmed on his official blog that the matter came under the jurisdiction of the Welsh Assembly, not the House of Commons.

It is widely accepted in Wales, even by the most loyal of Labour Party supporters, that Labour at Westminster tell Labour in the Welsh Assembly what to do, even though there is much strife between the two groups.

Skanda Vale was notified that Shambo would be taken away for slaughter on 26 July 2007 at 8 am. Veterinarians arrived at the temple at 08:50 on 26 July accompanied by police and other officials, but without a cattle truck to remove Shambo. They were refused entry by the monks because they had no warrant and so they left to obtain one from a local magistrate. A warrant could not be issued until they had been refused entry, according to ‘The Guardian’. One of the monks said ‘They will have to physically desecrate a temple to get him … we will be having an act of worship in front of where he is. If the Welsh Assembly Government want to take him out of there, they will have to interrupt an act of worship…Our religious laws prevent us from assisting in the killing of any life and so we will not help the inspectors remove Shambo.’ At 2:00 pm the officials returned with two warrants which gave them permission to enter within one calendar month, but failed to gain access to the bull. At about 4:00 pm, police used bolt cutters to get through the gate and move their vehicles – including an animal trailer and four riot vans. The bull was removed from the site at around 7:25 pm, after protesters had been removed, who had come from as far away as New Zealand and Switzerland. Shambo was taken to a local abattoir and officials confirmed on 27 July that Shambo had been slaughtered.

Here are a few observations.

Testing ‘positive’ for bovine TB is not a conclusive or definitive process. Furthermore, animals which do test positive may not necessarily be carrying, let alone be suffering from, bovine TB; they may merely have been exposed to the bacterium. A similar process led to me, in my thirties, ‘testing positive’ for Rubella. I have never been vaccinated against Rubella, caught Rubella or even as far I know been near someone suffering from it.

Even if Shambo did have bovine TB, treatment was available and Skanda Vale were prepared to pay for it – no human would be slaughtered for testing positive for, or indeed for developing full blown, TB. Slaughtering Shambo was completely unnecessary.

Those involved in the murder of Shambo included two paedophiles’ friends. Jane Davidson, the then Rural Affairs Minister, is from Birmingham and has been involved with teaching/lecturing and knows much about Dafydd and the paedophiles but has spent her career keeping quiet (see previous posts). Lord Justice Pill, who upheld Davidson’s decision to murder Shambo after Skanda Vale appealed, was the man who in his previous incarnation as Sir Justice Pill, sat in the High Court in Cardiff in May 1989 for more than an hour and entertained the lies that Dafydd and the paedophile gang told about me in their attempt to gain a High Court injunction which would have prevented me writing to anyone in Gwynedd Health Authority in an attempt to pursue my complaints against them. Sir Malcolm Pill didn’t actually give Gwynedd Health Authority an injunction with the terms that they requested, which really pissed the Health Authority off. Their response was to instruct Andrew Park, the crooked lawyer employed by the Welsh Office, to collaborate with Gwynedd Social Services and Gwynedd’s corrupt lawyer Ron Evans, in order to gain an injunction on the terms that Pill had refused. My documentation shows that Park and Evans from then on encouraged even more false allegations, conspiracy and perjury.

While I was grateful that Malcolm Pill did not give Gwynedd Health Authority what they wanted, Malcolm Pill read scores of documents which showed quite clearly that patients in north Wales were complaining of being abused, assaulted, unlawfully arrested and imprisoned and that these complaints were not being investigated. Pill also saw evidence of perjury, conspiracy and of Dafydd intimidating people – including police officers – with his Doberman dog. Pill said not a word about any of this. Neither did the two barristers presenting the arguments to Pill – Ian Murphy and Crispin Masterman. Ian Murphy and Crispin Masterman later became judges themselves and both have presided over child abuse trials in Wales.

See post ‘Some Big Legal Names Enter The Arena’ for the full story regarding Sir Malcolm Pill and the perjury that was involved in the attempt to gain the desired injunction.

When I was working as a post-doc at Bangor University in 2006 I encountered someone who knew Ian Murphy and Crispin Masterman as a result of previously working as a secretary in a Chambers in Swansea. She was a woman called Sue Davies who turned up as a secretary at Bangor University. Sue Davies lied, bullied other members of staff so badly that at least one secretary left her job because of her, forged documentation in order to cover for her many ‘sick days’ and threatened to sue me for defamation of character when I e mailed her and asked her to please stop trying to access confidential information about me. Davies wrote me a splendid letter in such a way that I was obviously supposed to believe that it had been written by a solicitor and e mailed it to me at 7 am one morning. My response was to laugh, so Davies then arrived at the office of the corrupt HR Director, Lyn Meadows, a good friend of the paedophiles herself, demanding that a bullying investigation be launched with regard to my shocking tendencies to laugh at attempts to intimidate me.

Sue – I know that you enjoyed telling people that you were ‘Clerk to the Chambers’ but I know that you weren’t. Because the Clerk to the Chambers is a lawyer, not a daft unqualified bint who is a member of the typing pool.

Not that Sue Davies intended to remain as an admin assistant for long, she clearly wanted to really be Chief Clerk to the Chambers, because I subsequently discovered that she had applied for a place on the law degree at Bangor University and had even been offered a place. This was after Davies had bullied, harassed, lied and produced forged documentation. Did Lyn Meadows ever investigate the many complaints that Davies’s line manager made against her, which were backed up by evidence? No. Instead Meadows did some crooked deal with Davies which resulted in Davies walking away from her job at Bangor University with a settlement. Jaws hit the ground. Then we found out about the offer of a place on the law degree…

Sue Davies was offered the place to study law by the Buffet Slayer, Aled Griffiths, who was the admissions tutor for the School of Law. Aled Griffith’s sister is Gwenan Carrington, the former Director of Gwynedd Social Services; his wife is Joanna Griffiths, the former Director of Conwy Social Services; his brother is Huw Griffiths, who is a grossly incompetent solicitor who was one of those who in the 1980s and 1990s watched the paedophile gang stitch people up in the various courts of north Wales. Every one of the Buffet Slayer’s nearest and dearest were up to their necks re Dafydd and the gang. See previous posts for further information on the Slayer and his Mafia.

The person who provided a glowing reference for Sue Davies so that boxes could be ticked re the application for the law degree was Professor Ian Russell, latterly of Bangor University, now of Swansea University. The Ian Russell who made as many fallacious allegations about colleagues as did Sue Davies and who was doing his best to do everything possible to smear and undermine the VC. See previous posts for info about Ian Russell, who even went as far as to make up lies about his RAE results and publish them on his Christmas Round Robins. I found the aforementioned Round Robins Of Lies after Ian used the University photocopiers to print them, fell asleep in his office and forgot to collect them from the photocopier.

Duw it’s hard and that bastard of a VC won’t give us redundancy packages big enough to make us go away. I have mentioned in previous posts the corrupt UCU rep at Bangor, Eileen Tilley and her funny little ways. One of the biggest laughs that I had when I worked at Bangor was after the combined forces of Tilley, Lyn Meadows and Professor Fergus Lowe opened fire on the Professor of Sociology, who was a friend and colleague of Graham, the target of the paedophiles’ friends and Hugo Young/Peter Preston in the 1990s. Fungus had demanded that the contract of a particularly hopeless paedophiles’ friend – the woman who was at the centre of the action that so excited Hugo Young et al – should finally be terminated. The rest of the paedophiles’ friends swung into action and were clearly hoping to re-enact the Battle Of Yesteryear and within hours, I was hearing how the Professor of Sociology had treated a ‘lovely, lovely lady’ ‘appallingly’. Who was broadcasting this across the University? Eileen Tilley. Who knew damn well that the paedophiles’ friend in question was in no way a ‘lovely, lovely lady’, she’d nearly caused World War III in her pursuit of a job for which she was not qualified and could not do 20 years previously and furthermore it was Fungus who kicked her out, not the Professor of Sociology. However, Tilley was able to come to the rescue of the lovely, lovely, lady and the full force of UCU was brought to bear on the University and the lovely, lovely lady was given a full-time, permanent lecturing job. The lovely, lovely, lady tried to plagiarise my work but was too thick to understand it, so the result was yet more entertainment for the rest of us.

The lovely, lovely, lady was such a wow with the students that the number of them opting for the course which she ran was in single figures.

Of course, as Clerk to the Chambers, Sue Davies had all the lowdown on the criminals of Wales, including, according to the Clerk to the Chambers, Peter Hain. Sue Davies was so disgusted by Peter Hain that she voted Tory.

  • Strange but true

One organisation who were fully behind Jane Davidson’s execution warrant for Shambo was the Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW). Bob Parry has been both Deputy President and President of the FUW. Bob Parry has also been an Anglesey County Councillor since the 1980s and throughout his long and glorious time on that Council, Bob Parry ignored the criminal conduct of his fellow Councillors, the serious abuse of kids in care on Anglesey and the selling of Chinese babies to anyone who had the dosh (see post ‘The Old Devils’). Bob Parry served as Mayor of the Borough Council in 1989/90. He was elected as the Chairman of the Isle of Anglesey County Council for 2016/17. Cllr Parry first became a member of the Isle of Anglesey Borough Council in 1981 as a Plaid Cymru councillor, representing the communities of Bryngwran and Gwalchmai.

Bryngwran is the home of Dr Delyth Morris aka Duckula. Duckula was the best mate of the Lovely, Lovely, Lady and it was Duckula who spearheaded the assault in defence of the Lovely, Lovely, Lady in the 1990s which ended up requiring reinforcements from Hugo Young. Duckula was formerly employed as a social worker with Gwynedd Social Services. Duckula also plagiarised my work and succeeded in using it to net a research grant from the Board Of Celtic Studies. I suspect that Duckula plagiarised some work of the senior sociologist’s who found himself in the sight of Hugo Young’s cross-hairs in the 1990s as well. This man had an excellent idea for a community study, began discussing it with colleagues, only to discover some weeks later that Duckula had sprung up a friendship with the Scottish sociologist of religion from Aberdeen University, Professor Steve Bruce, who, bugger me, was embarking on exactly the same community study that the senior sociologist at Bangor was planning! Duckula sent an e mail to the Bangor sociologist cheerily explaining that she was advising Steve Bruce on the fieldwork. Steve Bruce may well have been entirely innocent and probably just thought that he’d discovered a wonderfully helpful lady in north Wales, but it was clear from Duckula’s gloating e mail to the Bangor sociologist that she was far from innocent.

Duckula was a magistrate at Holyhead but she was obliged to stand down when it was discovered that she had tried to use her influence with the police to get her son off an assault charge. I was told by one of Duckula’s son’s friends that Duckula’s bungaloid was used to store his drugs on the grounds that she wouldn’t be raided, but he might well be. Duckula’s son did his PhD at Bangor University, but no-one realised that he was Duckula’s son because he had a different surname. Duckula didn’t think to tell anyone that he was her son. Duckula’s son received funding for his PhD from Tesco. I have no idea why, that was years before Tesco began talking about creating their own University. Amazingly enough, sometime afterwards, a huge Tesco store was built in Holyhead, despite much local opposition. There was one public spirited citizen who campaigned on behalf of Tesco however – one Dr Duckula Morris.

Duckula was very much more affluent than a lot of her colleagues. I was told that this was as a result of her flogging a field of hers at Bryngwran after she received planning permission to build bungaloids on it.

Anglesey County Council is famous for taking backhanders in return for granting planning permission and at least one Councillor – who went to prison for various offences – became a millionaire when he gained planning permission to build all sorts of things on his land.

Duckula really hates English people who have second homes in Gwynedd. Duckula’s daughter, Gillian, Daughter of Duckula, was engaged to – although I don’t know whether she ever married – one of the few people who has served a prison sentence for violent Welsh activism. I think that he sent or planted a bomb. Duckula told the world that she was delighted to welcome him into the clan.

Duckula has a second home in France but doesn’t talk about it much because she ‘doesn’t want people to know’. Duckula’s mentor, Professor Glyn Williams, a now retired academic from Bangor who also really hated English people, had a second home in France too.

John Allen owned a villa in France, to which he took kids in care ‘on holiday’. Dr Dafydd Alun Jones used to hold ‘clinics’ in France.

We needn’t worry about Duckula participating in crime though, because Duckula had a family connection to the Ethics Committee at Bangor University. Her sister served as its secretary and helpfully provided Duckula with full details of everybody else’s projects which had been submitted for ethical approval. Including those projects which Duckula plagiarised. Not that anybody knew that the Ethics Committe secretary was Duckula’s sister – like Duckula’s son, she had a different surname from Duckula and Duckula didn’t think to enlighten anyone.

Duckula’s sister was as busy as Duckula. When I was conducting some fieldwork on Anglesey, I was surprised to be asked by someone whom I was interviewing, who did not work at the University or have any friends or relations who did, whether it was true that the VC was planning to close certain depts and sack staff, because Delyth Morris’s sister has told me that she is and is asking us all to protest about it.

The VC did not have plans to close down bits of the University as accused by Duckula’s sister. However Professor Fergus Lowe did and he tried to do this – Fungus wanted to close five Depts. He was unable to go ahead with his plans because the VC announced his retirement on the day that Fungus tried to force the closure plans through, assisted by the awful Professor Hilary Lappin-Scott. The Chancellor, Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas, told Fungus that no such decisions could be made now that the VC had announced his retirement.

The vile Hilary Satan-Scott is now inflicting huge damage on Swansea University, having left Bangor under a massive cloud, following the suicide of a member of staff who had been told that his Dept would be closing. See previous posts for more Satan-Scott laffs.

Bob Parry is a friend of Ieuan Wyn Jones, the former Plaid MP and AM for Anglesey/Ynys Mon. Ieuan Wyn Jones comes from Denbighshire and before he entered politics he was a solicitor. Ieuan did his degree at Liverpool Poly. One of the governors of Liverpool Poly was John Hamilton, the Leader of Liverpool City Council when Derek Hatton was Deputy Leader. John Hamilton was much quieter than Degsy, but he will have known about the corruption in Liverpool City Council and he also knew that Liverpool was a branch of Dafydd’s empire (see post ‘These Sharks Are Crap As Well’). John Hamilton nearly died in a house fire just before the Waterhouse Report was published. So if he ever did feel like mentioning the names of anyone in High Places who were involved, lying in that bed suffering from third degree burns would have probably taken his mind off that. When Liverpool Poly became Liverpool John Moores University, Cherie Booth served a stint as Chancellor.

When younger, Ieuan Wyn Jones worked as a solicitor in Ruthin, in the same office as paedophiles’ friend and Freemason David Jones, who is now the Tory MP for Clwyd West (see post ‘The Right Honourable David Jones MP). David Jones then relocated to a practice in Bangor, where, like Huw Griffiths, he spent many years watching the paedophile gang frame victims and witnesses. David Cameron appointed David Jones Secretary of State for Wales just when Operation Pallial was opened and when the Macur Review of the Waterhouse Inquiry was being organised. David Jones is married to an Angel.

Ieuan was a pal of Alwyn Jones, the lawyer who acted for me but found himself indisposed when the paedophile gang took me to Court in Chester on the basis of their perjury and tried to have me imprisoned (see post ‘It’s Just Another Gold Digger’).

Bob Parry will know another past leading light of the FUW, Henry Brookes, the brother of Beata Brookes. Beata was a particularly unpleasant Tory politician who came from a farming family in Denbighshire. Beata had many strings to her bow. She was a former social worker who held responsibilities in the Social Services, in Clwyd Health Authority and in many charidees for the disabled. Wherever there was a victim of the paedophile gang there was Beata. See post ‘The ‘Celtic Iron Lady’ And Yet More Recent History’. In 1955, George Brookes, Beata’s father (I presume that it was her father), became involved in a relatively trivial dispute with a local authority and ended up hiring some of the most famous, priciest lawyers in the UK to represent him, including Lord Hailsham; it was so mind blowing that Ronnie Waterhouse wrote about it in his autobiography. See post ‘Cry, The Beloved Country’. The dispute involved the location of some caravans on Brookes’s land and it would never have been worth his while employing the sort of lawyers that he did over such a matter, so I suspect that famille Brookes were actually up to something else at the time, something which could not under any circumstances be exposed.

Henry and Beata were rather grandiose and considered themselves a cut above your ordinary farmer. Henry wasn’t just involved with the FUW, Henry concerned himself with country sports and country landowning organisations. Lord Kenyon was involved with agriculture on that level, as was Carlo’s friend, Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster. The Duke was the President of the City of Chester Conservative Association when Sir Peter Morrison was the constituency MP and was molesting kids in care in north Wales, Chester and other locations.

Mary Wynch was working as a secretary at the Dept of Agriculture at UCNW/Bangor University when Dafydd and the gang had her unlawfully arrested and imprisoned. Carlo was Chancellor of UCNW at the time.

The Buffet Slayer, who in his youth was the President of the Students’ Union at UCNW, hates Carlo. If I was the Buffet Slayer I’d be thanking my lucky stars for Carlo, because without Carlo, the Slayer and his mates would be in prison by now.

For more background on Bob Parry, see post ‘The Defence Of The Realm’.

One final point about the murder of Shambo. On 26 July 2007, the Govardhan Charitable Trust, a sanctuary for cows in Maharashtra state, India, wrote to the temple offering Shambo a home. The Trust appealed to the Welsh Assembly to refrain from killing Shambo until the Trust could arrange for the government of India to approve the import. The Trust’s letter quoted Gandhi: ‘We should be willing to refuse to live if the price of living be the torture of sentient beings.’ Transportation for Shambo was organised by a supporter from Switzerland.

After the slaughter of Shambo, Skanda Vale community leader ‘Brother Alex’ threatened that a ‘nightmare’ was just beginning for the Welsh Assembly. Secretary General Ramesh Kallidai said ‘Ignorant people have chosen to desecrate our temple and have chosen to destroy life unnecessarily,’ and he wanted ‘to check how agricultural law can cater to the needs of sacred animals in Hindu temples in Britain’. The Hindu Conference of Canada expressed ‘shock and dismay’ at the decision of the Welsh Gov’t.

What Happens If Australia Is Hit By A Nuclear Bomb ...

This is what happens when a nation is run entirely by a collection of Pathetic Sharks who do not have sufficient scientific knowledge to make appropriate decisions and who have only achieved their positions by colluding with a trafficking gang who were murdering witnesses.

The Welsh Gov’t Minister for Rural Affairs is now Lesley Griffiths. She doesn’t know her arse from her elbow, is an on-going disaster in that role and there was yet another feature on ‘Farming Today’ this morning on Radio 4, which featured farmers who were pissed off with Lesley. Lesley Griffiths grew up near Wrexham, worked as a medical secretary at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital and served as a Wrexham Councillor, before being elected as an AM. Throughout the years in which Griffiths was doing this, Wrexham Maelor staff and Wrexham Councillors ignored, colluded with and concealed a vicious paedophile ring operating on their doorstep. Lesley Griffiths is a paedophiles’ friend of the highest order. Lesley Griffiths was the Welsh Gov’ts Minister for Heath, 2011-13.

I wrote to Lesley Griffiths repeatedly during that time, informing her of the escalating threats which were being made toward me by the trafficking gang which she had spent her whole life ignoring. I did not receive any replies. My documents show that Griffiths received my e mails, but the concerns of the officials working for her were that I was e mailing my friends at Bangor University providing them with details of those threats as well as of a violent assault on me by a barrister’s daughter. Furthermore, Griffiths’ officials and NHS managers had documented that I had visited a Welsh Gov’t Minister’s house. I have never visited a Welsh Gov’t Minister’s house, I do not know where any Welsh Gov’t Minister lives.

For further details of Lesley – including her performance in front of a group of wimmin who aspired to be politicians during which Lesley told the wimmin that she used to get nervous speaking in front of ‘all the men’, but when she was a Councillor she found that she could ‘help the mums’ by campaigning for better street lighting – and the numerous bombs that went off when she was Health Minister, see post ‘History Repeats Itself, First As Tragedy, Second As Farce’.

It is worth noting that not only did Lesley fail to help the mums who’s kids were in the hands of a vicious paedophile gang, but Lesley oversaw some pretty terrible suffering of dads as well. When I was unlawfully detained at the Heddfan Unit at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, after being assaulted by that barrister’s daughter, Lesley was Health Minister. I made friends with another patient who was sectioned and prevented from seeing his own children because he wasn’t allowed out and there was pressure on his partner not to take the kids in to such a place to see their dad. He was in Heddfan for a long while and the family home was located just behind the Heddfan Unit. If he went outside to sit in the garden, he could hear his daughters playing. But he couldn’t actually have any contact with them. For months.

I think that we ought to campaign for Lesley to become FM. Russia’s got Putin who trained with the KGB. Wales will have Lesley, who’s suits don’t fit, who sports ankle-swingers and who gets nervous speaking in front of all the men.

In September 2015, both Leadership and Deputy Leadership elections took place in the Labour Party. Hilary Benn supported Andy Burnham in the Leadership election. The Andy who ignored somewhere in the region of 80 requests to hold an Inquiry into the Mid-Staffordshire NHS. While thousands and thousands of people died.

On 2 December 2015, Benn made the closing speech for the official opposition in the House of Commons debate on airstrikes against ISIL in Syria. Benn’s speech was described as ‘one of the truly great speeches in Commons history’. Speaking to the BBC the following day, John McDonnell – he who is admired by Rachel the transgender HGV driver – compared Benn’s speech to that given by Blair in 2003 ahead of the Iraq War. Was that one of the occasions on which Blair lied to the House perhaps? McDonnell described Benn’s speech as an ‘excellent’ piece of oratory, but added: ‘The greatest oratory can lead us to the greatest mistakes.’ Perhaps John McDonnell had in mind another giant of Labour history who was renowned for his ‘oratory’:Socialist Appeal | Socialist Appeal

On 25 June 2016, ‘The Observer’ revealed that Benn ‘called fellow MPs over the weekend to suggest that he will ask Corbyn to stand down if there is significant support for a move against the leader. He has also asked shadow cabinet colleagues to join him in resigning if the Labour leader ignores that request.’ During a phone call in the early hours of 26 June, Benn told Corbyn that Labour MPs and shadow cabinet members had ‘no confidence in our ability to win the election’ under his leadership. Corbyn then dismissed Benn from his position as Shadow Foreign Secretary. In a statement issued at 03:30 – Hilary had obviously been up all night worrying – Benn said: ‘It has now become clear that there is widespread concern among Labour MPs and in the shadow cabinet about Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of our party. In particular, there is no confidence in our ability to win the next election, which may come much sooner than expected, if Jeremy continues as leader.’ Later in the morning, Heidi Alexander, the Shadow Secretary of State for Health, also resigned. Throughout the day, a further eight members of the shadow cabinet resigned.

Jezza is still in place. Considerably helped by Margaret Hodge constantly mouthing off and reminding everyone why so many people voted for Jezza rather than any of the selection of New Labour tossers who were on offer at the same time.

When in September 2016, Benn announced his intention to stand for Chairman of the new Exiting the European Union Select Committee. His bid was supported by Uncle Harry’s nephew Ed Miliband, as well as other senior Labour Party figures including Angela Eagle and Andy Burnham. In a former life Angela worked for COHSE, an NHS union which represented many an abuser of patients. The General Secretary of COHSE was David Williams, who trained as an Angel at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh. See post ‘A Very COHSE Relationship With Some Very Nasty People’.

I have a schedule of future blog posts planned, but if I have time to do so, I will blog about two people who have been loyal servants to Hilary’s career who have done a few interesting things…

Hilary’s predecessor as Labour MP for Leeds Central was Derek John Fatchett, who was elected in 1983.  Derek Fatchett was predicted to have a great future in the Labour Party, possibly as its Leader one day, but he died suddenly in 1999 at the age of 53.

Fatchett attended Lincoln School and then Birmingham University, where he studied law, graduating in 1966. Fatchett joined the Labour Party in 1964. He took an MSc at the LSE in 1968, where he was a student activist. When young, Fatchett was on the left, but when an MP he migrated to the right…

Fatchett was a Councillor on Wakefield Metropolitan Council, 1980-84. He became a Lecturer in Industrial Relations at the University of Leeds in 1971, staying there until he became an MP.

Fatchett was a Leeds City Councillor and working at Leeds University when the Yorkshire Ripper was murdering unhindered thanks to police corruption and incompetence. One of the Sutcliffe’s victims was a student at Leeds and a friend of mine who was a student there at the time said that there was an atmosphere of sheer terror across the whole area. Fatchett will have heard about Savile and the rampant police corruption that prevailed in Leeds/Yorkshire at the time.

After Labour’s 1997 election victory, Fatchett was soon made a Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Derek Fatchett died suddenly on the night of 9 May 1999 (aged 53), from a massive heart attack after collapsing whilst relaxing with his wife and close friend in a Wakefield pub. At the time of his death, it was predicted in political circles that he was soon to be Defence or N Ireland Secretary.

A BBC article on Fatchett’s life mentioned his ‘inner city constituency’, which will have contained people who had been or were being targeted by the trafficking gang operating in the area remembered that Derek Fatchett had said that ‘he was once a bearded leftie Marxist’.

[ image: Mr Fatchett said he was once a bearded leftie Marxist]

Derek gave up being a bearded leftie under the Windbag’s ‘modernising leadership’. Fatchett will have known that the Windbag was staking his whole future on concealing the organised abuse gangs which were causing ructions in Wales and elsewhere, because the Windbag was so desperate for the votes of welfare professionals (see post ‘I Warn You…’). Fatchett then joined ranks behind Blair. He quit the left-wing Campaign Group of which Tony Benn was a leading light in 1985. He subsequently persuaded the Tribune Group to support the Windbag and Fattersley. Fattersley held a seat in an inner-city, poor Birmingham constituency for decades and knew about the massive corruption in civic life in Birmingham, including the excesses of the West Midlands Serious Crime Squad and the trade in abused and trafficked kids between Birmingham and north Wales.

Derek Fatchett joined the Foreign Office after Labour’s 1997 victory and was a close friend of his boss at the Foreign Office, Robin Cook.

Robin Cook, who died after a severe heart attack on 6 August 2005:

[ image: Robin Cook: Close friend]

The day prior to his own death, Mr Fatchett joined Mr Cook at the daily Ministry of Defence briefing on the Kosovo conflict. He had recently visited East Timor and had also accompanied Lilibet on the previous month’s visit to South Korea. Earlier that year, Derek met with the Taleban’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abdul Rahman Zahidc in Islamabad in the first ever contact between the UK and the Islamic organisation. Mr Fatchett had became a Privy Councillor in October 1998.

One of Derek Fatchett’s responsibilities in Blair’s Gov’t was to sell the ‘Cool Britannia’ image abroad. A major contribution to ‘Cool Britannia’ was ‘Cool Cymru’, which was virtually entirely based upon a group of Welsh rock stars who were the children of the people who had been the key figures in facilitating and concealing the organised abuse and trafficking in Wales (see post ‘The International Language Of Screaming’).

‘The Guardian’ obituary for Fatchett mentioned that he had been involved in Cook’s highly successful initiative to bring the Lockerbie bombers to trial. There were constant allegations and counter-allegations regarding the conviction of one of the Lockerbie bombers – that he was a stooge, that a dirty deal had been done with Col Gadaffi – who after all became a Blairite at one point – and that false medical evidence regarding his condition had been submitted etc. See previous posts.

Recent posts and comments have discussed the meteoric rise through Scottish Labour politics of Lord Jack McConnell, who was at Stirling University with my best friend from school, who knew what was happening to me in north Wales and who found herself pursued by gangsters and having her career ruined when that was happening to me as well. Lord Jack was a maths teacher who spent the years between 1984 and 1992 as a leading light on Stirling District Council, including when there was an abuse scandal there. Lord Jack became General Secretary of Scottish Labour Party in 1992 and was credited with the splendid Scottish General Election result for Labour in 1997, in which the Tories were wiped out.

Lord Jack was elected as an MSP in 1999 and by 2001 he was FM! Fancy that happening just as the Waterhouse Inquiry was ending and then while Waterhouse published his Report. When Lord Jack was FM, he appointed Professor Alex Jay to the most senior role in social work in Scotland. Alexis had previously overseen many an abuse scandal and had been responsible for the chaos that was the Orkney Satanic Abuse Scandal (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – The Scottish Play’). Alexis is now Chairing the IICSA, which is falling apart.

Lord Jack has a particularly high opinion of Dennis Andrew Canavan, who was MP for Falkirk West, 1974-2000 (known as West Stirlingshire, 1974-83), first as a member of the Labour Party and then as an Independent. Canavan then served as an Independent MSP for Falkirk West, 1999-07.

Canavan was educated at St. Bride’s and St Columba’s Schools, Cowdenbeath, St Andrew’s College, Drygrange and at the University of Edinburgh. He worked as a schoolteacher from 1968 until 1974 and was Assistant Head of Holy Rood High School, Edinburgh at the time of his first election to Parliament. Canavan was also Head of the Maths Department at St Modan’s High in Stirling.

Canavan was leader of the Labour Party Group on Stirling District Council in 1974 and was Chair of the Scottish Parliamentary Labour Group, 1980-81.

Canavan is still a member of CND and Amnesty International, as are many on the left who have remained silent about the abuse of children and young people in welfare settings. He Chaired the N Ireland Committee of the PLP, 1989-97, and led several Parliamentary delegations to Ireland during the Troubles. Canavan served on the British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body, 1992-2000. Whatever it was that was going on at the Kincora Boys’ Home in Belfast, Canavan knows about it.

As a member of the European and External Relations Committee of the Scottish Parliament, Canavan was author of a report on the potential for co-operation between Scotland and Ireland.

Throughout his entire political life, Canavan played a leading part in the campaign for a Scottish Parliament. Which within two years of its creation was being led by his good mate Jack. However, in 1999, when the first elections to the Scottish Parliament were held, the New Labour leadership rejected Canavan as an official Labour candidate, despite the fact that he had the support of 97% of local party members. He therefore stood as an Independent and was consequently expelled from the Party. Canavan won with almost 55% of the vote, the biggest majority of any MSP in that election. Canavan resigned his Westminster seat in 2000 to concentrate on representing his constituents in the Scottish Parliament. Canavan retained his Holyrood seat in 2003 with 55.7% of the vote, again the biggest majority in Scotland.

In the Scottish Parliament, Canavan was a member of the European and External Relations Committee and Convener of the All-Party Sports Group from 1999.

Canavan is President of Ramblers Scotland.

When Canavan announced his retirement before the 2007 Scottish Parliament elections, he was the longest serving parliamentarian in the Scottish Parliament, having completed a combined 33 years at Westminster and Holyrood. He was praised by his mate the then FM Jack as ‘an outstanding parliamentarian over a long, long period of time’.

The careers of Canavan and Lord Jack are strikingly similar, but Canavan is a lot older than Lord Jack and entered politics years before Lord Jack did. I suspect that Canavan was Lord Jack’s big mate and mentor – back in the days when my friend found Lord Jack getting into her bed without so much as a by-your-leave – but Jack’s career then accelerated past old Dennis, particularly when Dennis was having dust-ups with New Labour. This is pure speculation, but I’m wondering if Dennis gave Lord Jack a leg-up when Lord Jack was a whippersnapper – when he was getting into my friend’s bed, I heard all about it at the time Jack! – but then when Lord Jack realised that my friend had the dynamite on the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal, he was able to clobber New Labour over the head with that and rise to the very top, even though they hated his best mate Dennis.

Am I right Dennis?fazzledown: New year/New, erm...

So where does Dennis’s answer leave these two?

Tony Blair

Gordon Brown

On May 31 1994, 19 days after John Smith died, the two pictured above are famously alleged to have made a deal which dictated that Gordon would stand aside to give Blair a clear run for the Party leadership and then after Blair had been PM for a few years, he’d give Gordon a go. Gordon became mighty angry when Blair broke the deal years later. The deal was made over a meal in the Granita restaurant, Islington, when Tony and Cherie still lived in Islington. There was a paedophile/trafficking ring operating in Islington’s children’s homes at the time, with links to Dafydd’s gang in north Wales.

I was the person who told Tony Francis that John Smith had died – I was in the Hergest Unit at the time, I heard the newsflash on the radio and told the other patients. Francis heard me, came out of his office, interrogated me re the circumstances of Smith’s death and dashed off quite excited. My documents show that very shortly after that, Francis, Dafydd et al began yet another conspiracy to have me incarcerated in a secure hospital (see post ‘The Banality Of Evil’).

Tony Francis knew the Windbag when they were at university in Cardiff.

John Smith died on 12 May 1994 at Barts hospital after they were ‘unable to revive’ him. Dafydd’s mate Professor Linford Rees ruled the roost at Barts for years (see post ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’). Lady Juliet Bingley was also very influential at Barts, due to having worked there as a social worker and her father being a surgeon there. Lady Juliet was married to Admiral Sir Alec Bingley, who served with Lord Louis Mountbatten (see post ‘The Defence Of The Realm’). Lady Juliet and her son William spent their careers colluding with Dafydd et al when Lady Juliet and William held senior positions at MIND and when William was Chief Exec of the Mental Health Act Commission. See previous posts for details. On 9 June 1994 Matt Arnold, the Headmaster of Bryn Estyn, died of an ‘unspecified blood disease’. On 13 June 1994 the trial of Peter Howarth, Arnold’s friend and colleague from Bryn Estyn, for sexually abusing boys in care in north Wales opened. Paul Wilson was put on trial alongside Howarth. Arnold and Howarth had previously worked at Axwell Park Approved School in Gateshead, where boys had been abused. They relocated to Bryn Estyn in 1973.

The friend of mine who found Jack McConnell in her bed and subsequently came under attack from gangsters sought advice from the Islington Council harassment officer in 1988. Tony and Cherie were still living in Islington at the time. Margaret Hodge was the Council leader – it was Hodge who nominated Blair for the Labour Party Leadership. Islington Council were given full details of the threats and aggression to which my friends were being subjected and was the reason why they had to move house quickly. Islington did rehouse them, but to somewhere equally as dangerous (see post ‘The Turn Of The Screw’).

Once my friend and her husband arrived at their new flat, an old friend of theirs from Stirling, Sheena, known to Jack McConnell, moved in and wreaked havoc, just about destroying their lives.

Do you know anything about why Sheena did this Lord Jack?

My friend and her husband were then hounded out of their jobs in the media. My friend worked at the Royal Television Society and her husband worked at the BBC. Lord Jack is a big mate of Kirsty Wark, who was a stalwart of BBC’s ‘Newsnight’.

In April 2010, Lord Jack’s mate Dennis Canavan declared his support for John McNally, the SNP candidate for Falkirk in the 2010 general election. Falkirk is the successor to Canavan’s former Westminster constituency.

Now for someone who gave a big helping hand to the Gang Of Four, all of whom were up to their eyeballs in concealing the Westminster Paedophile Ring, including that branch in north Wales/Cheshire which was facilitated by Dafydd et al. Dr Death personally knew some of the Top Docs involved with the gang in north Wales. My post ‘We’ve Been Expecting You…’ mentioned that in a recent radio interview the Gang Of Four explained that after they made the Limehouse Declaration at Dr Death’s house, they received a most generous offer from David Kingsley, who gave his time free of charge and organised masses of free PR and advertising for them, utilising some of the most well-known names in the business.

David Kingsley died in 2014 and ‘The Guardian’ published an obituary for him. Kingsley was described as the first ‘moderniser’ in British politics and Labour’s first spin doctor.

Kingsley played a role – which only emerged much later – in Harold Wilson’s dramatic first speech as Labour leader to his Party’s 1963 annual conference, offering a new vision of socialism and a Britain ‘forged in the white heat’ of a scientific and technological revolution. The electorate liked it and Wilson won his first general election victory the following year.

Kingsley was one of the ‘three wise men’ who were brought in to help Wilson in 1962; Kingsley’s particular expertise being in advertising. Kingsley, Peter Lovell-David, a media-management expert and Denis Lyons, from the world of PR, formed a team of unpaid advisers to Wilson, deliberately situated outside of the Party hierarchy. They were responsible for the campaign slogans ‘Let’s go with Labour and we’ll get things done’ in 1964 and ‘You know Labour government works’ in 1966. The optimism that they helped convey on the party’s behalf, which lay behind the ‘white heat’ speech at Scarborough, offered an alternative to the austerity of the postwar years and would serve to end Labour’s 13 years in Parliamentary opposition.

After 1964, Kingsley was regarded as someone of considerable significance at No 10 and as the most talented of the ‘wise men’, who visited the PM once a fortnight. Wilson himself had written a report in the 1950s on the need to modernise the Labour Party organisation and he was determined to use people like Kingsley to introduce new ideas of presentation and public promotion of the party. With Kingsley’s help and advice, he also brought in regular opinion polling, using the services of Bob Worcester – later the founder of Mori – to look at the reasons behind the voting intentions of the electorate. This was an almost unknown science in British politics at the time and, in Kingsley’s view, if it had been taken more seriously would have averted Labour’s narrow and unexpected election defeat in 1970.

Kingsley proposed that politicians should use the latest marketing techniques to try to get through to people by using language rather than just headlines and that they should explain their policies and principles. In the event, the Labour 1970 election slogan ‘Yesterday’s men’, portraying the Conservative leader, Edward Heath and his team as plastic puppets in the dustbin of history, misfired badly. It had been planned by Kingsley and his colleagues as the first half of a two-part campaign and the follow-up was intended to convey the positive message ‘Make Britain great again’. But Wilson unexpectedly brought forward the General Election to June, apparently persuaded by his political adviser, Marcia Williams and the negative nature of the ‘Yesterday’s men’ slogan rebounded to his disadvantage. A BBC TV programme the following year, about how Wilson and his Ministers were adjusting to life in opposition, caused an enormous kerfuffle when it was broadcast under the same title and suggested that the former PM had unashamedly profiteered from the publication of his account of his time in Gov’t.

Kingsley was born in south London, but the family moved and he was educated at Southend High School for boys, before going to the LSE. He did his national service with the RAF, returned to be President of the Students’ Union at the LSE in 1952 and the following year became Vice-President of the NUS. Kingsley remained closely attached to the LSE throughout his life, as a governor for 40 years until 2006, an honorary fellow and Chairman of the alumni association. He will have known Brian Abel-Smith and Richard Titmuss, two LSE academics who were crucial to the early development of the NHS and welfare state very well. Abel-Smith in particular knew exactly how severely the NHS was abusing the most vulnerable citizens  and he knew that the Top Doctors were facilitating organised abuse gangs (see post ‘The Great Stink’). David Kingsley will have known this as well, in addition to the wrongdoing of MPs such as Leo Abse and George Thomas which Wilson and his colleagues were concealing. The gang in north Wales was linked to Abse and George Thomas in south Wales.

The role of the Top Doctors in north Wales concealing sexual exploitation and abuse went back decades. My post ‘The Village’ describes how the situation can be traced as far back as before WWII, involving visitors from the Bloomsbury/Islington area to Cwm Croesor in north Wales.

David Kingsley had been adopted as the prospective Labour candidate for East Grinstead in 1952, but decided on a career in advertising, working in New York before returning to the UK and founding his own company, KMP, in 1964. With his business partners, Michael Manton and Brian Palmer, he created a ground-breaking agency that challenged some of the US giants at a difficult time for the industry.

Kingsley’s ideas were strongly opposed by the traditionalists at Labour HQ, particularly the General Secretary, Ron Hayward and the Head of the press operation, Percy Clark. Unlike his two colleagues, Kingsley was not given a peerage. He offered his professional advice to various foreign governments, including those of Zambia and Mauritius and of course to the SDP 1981-87.

Kingsley undoubtedly knew what Dr Death and his colleagues had colluded with in their role as healthcare professionals and knew exactly what the Gang Of Four were sitting on in their capacities as politicians who knew all about the Westminster Paedophile Ring. Any advice given to the SDP will have taken that into account. It was why Shirl and Woy targeted those seats at Crosby and Hillhead which had such strong links with people involved in the Westminster Paedophile Ring (see post ‘We’ve Been Expecting You…’).

A few years before he died, Kingsley gave an interview with blogger Oliver Shah. The interview tells us that Kingsley worked ‘in New York for Proctor & Gamble, the founders of modern advertising’ and that Kingsley ‘made regular TV appearances and knew the power players in London’s blossoming advertising scene’. But Kingsley insisted it was the Three Wise Men – together with their friend Bob Worcester, the founder of Mori – who started using regular opinion polls to guide party strategy, years ahead of Tony Blair: ‘In fact to my mind, introducing the Labour party to proper opinion poll research was one of the most important things we did…Bob [Worcester] was very good. If they’d used him more we needn’t have lost the 1970 election. I know everyone always looks back, but he was tracking very clearly what was happening and what the problems were in a way the Labour party had never experienced before.’

Shah’s blog notes that ‘the art of spin’ was ‘now so associated with vicious briefings and irresponsible hype’. Kingsley described Wilson as ‘a marvellous chap’ who would ‘bring his wife and children to parties and would charm friends and foes with his bluff northern manner’.

Wilson might have wheeled out his wife and kids for PR purposes, but Wilson knew that George Thomas was a child abuser, he was good friends with George Thomas and he also knew that Leo Abse, George Thomas’s friend and protector, was an aggressive bent lawyer who was in the process of rewriting legislation concerning children in care solely on the advice of people who were facilitating and concealing child abuse (see post ‘Cry, The Beloved Country’).

Dafydd too maxed out on his children. Dafydd told third parties that I had used ‘foul and abusive language’ in front of his young children – I didn’t even know that he had young children when that allegation was made; Dafydd moved onto telling people that I was a ‘danger’ to his ‘young children’; Dafydd gave an interview to a local newspaper telling them that his children ‘say their prayers at night and I’m rather proud of that’; Dafydd told people that he was ‘kind to children’. Meanwhile Dafydd ran a paedophile gang, along with his mistress, children’s social worker Lucille Hughes and was so infrequently at home that he employed nannies – who were young female patients of his who lived with him – to look after his children.

Dafydd’s constant references to ‘children’ were a running joke among the Hergest Unit patients.

Dafydd’s teenaged children boasted of hurling abuse at and taking the piss out of Dafydd’s patients.

Oliver Shah’s blog tells us that David Kingsley ‘parted amicably’ from the Wise Men and the Labour party when Ted Heath’s Tories scraped to power in 1970 and ‘He says he has never been tempted to return to the heart of British politics, preferring to split his time between charity work and advising a number of African governments.’

Yet Kingsley moved heaven and earth, free of charge, to help the Gang Of Four.

Shah’s blog states that ‘Kingsley lets slip a surprising revelation: he didn’t draw a penny in salary from the government in all his time as its communications maestro. Offering his services for free gave him a feeling of distance from the political machine, he says and the freedom to do as he liked. His only remuneration came in the form of a Havana cigar, itself a gift from Fidel Castro to Harold Wilson.’

People like David Kingsley do not do things out of the goodness of their hearts or because of an ideological commitment. If Kingsley was ever to do that he would not have become an advertising/PR man.

So what was Kingsley’s real reason for tripping over himself to help the Gang Of Four? Where did his reward lie? What did this past master of vicious tawdry spin resort to in order to try and get Dr Death a job as PM?

Kingsley is dead, but his pal – and the pal of those Top Doctors in north Wales who facilitated the trafficking gang – Dr Death, is not. Dr Death, would you happen to know anything about the stream of people who befriended Brown, me and the friends of ours who knew what was happening to me in north Wales, who turned out to be a little peculiar and grossly abusive into the bargain? They worked in the media and in healthcare, they moved into house shares with us, they had relationships with Brown, they tried to split up our friendships and relationships and some of them knew Dafydd and other colleagues of yours Dr Death. Furthermore, references to them are to be found in documents from my medical records now in my possession.

You’re welcome to e mail me Dr Death or leave a comment on the blog! You’ve got nothing to lose you nasty old bugger – after all you never did become PM, although your colleagues in north Wales imprisoned and killed all those witnesses to their wrongdoing.

Previous posts have discussed how Donna Ockenden, the ‘independent consultant’ who recently was commissioned to ‘leave no stone unturned’ and to ‘get to the bottom of’ whatever has gone so terribly wrong with mental healthcare in north Wales is yet another person who has now run away screaming and abandoned the patients of north Wales after she discovered from documents that I sent her relating to my own case just how serious the crime in the NHS in north Wales was/is and how many people colluded with it.

I have explained in previous posts how Donna invited me to meet her, but after I sent her documentation demonstrating perjury, conspiracy, the destruction of evidence, wrongful arrest and the unlawful denial of NHS treatment to patients who had complained, Donna e mailed me and cancelled our meeting and I never heard from her again.

Before Donna cancelled, she invited me to meet her and someone else whom she told me was assisting her in the investigation into the Betsi Cadwaladr University NHS Trust, but who’s name has never been made public. It was Dr Graeme Zaki, an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon who practices at Havant in Hampshire. Dr Zaki can be found listed on the website of Spire Healthcare, a private company. A number of the Betsi consultants are making good incomes from working for Spire. There is a Spire Hospital just down the road from Wrexham Maelor Hospital. If you want an appointment with a Spire consultant, you ring their NHS secretary and the NHS secretary arranges it.

For the past few years, waiting lists for joint surgery at the Betsi have been so long that I know of patients who expressly told their surgeons that they did not approve of private medicine and did not want to jump the queue when told that they could be treated within weeks rather than in nearly two years time, but who did end up going to the Spire because they were in so much pain that they could bear it no longer. One man I know suspected that this was going to happen so he logged the whole process and correlated dates. He told me that he could only conclude that the surgeons at the Betsi had got together and organised appointments and waiting lists such that they ensured that patients would be forced to go private. The consultants themselves have told the media that they do not tell any patients that they will be treated more quickly if they go private. No, the consultants don’t. The GPs do that bit and then let the consultants know who has agreed to go private because they can bear the agony no longer.

In 2005 Graeme Zaki was in the media. The BBC reported a scandal which involved a doctor at a South African health care firm who had been flown in to do hip replacements for the NHS being blamed for botching operations on six patients. The surgeon worked for Netcare and carried out the operations at the Royal Hospital Haslar in Gosport, Hampshire, between 10 and 20 November 2003. The BBC reported that another Top Doctor had described the surgeon’s work as ‘totally substandard and probably negligent’. Two of the surgeon’s patients had to have corrective surgery. It was Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust who had contracted Netcare and the surgeon. The Medical Director of that Trust at the time was Graeme Zaki. Zaki apologised.

In 2008 the Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust were facing a big negligence action after a young woman died in circumstances which they had admitted should never have arisen. The Medical Director of the Trust, Graeme Zaki, apologised.

I’ll do a bit of digging and see if I can find any direct links between Graeme Zaki and the paedophiles’ friends in north Wales.

My post ‘It’s Just Another Gold Digger’ mentioned that the man who prosecuted Rebecca Teacher at the Old Bailey for conspiracy to blackmail in 1993 after Rebecca blew the whistle on the physical and sexual abuse of children at a commune near Bethesda – abuse which was widely known among local solicitors, the North Wales Police, the Top Doctors and Angels and of course Gwynedd Social Services – was a David Bate. I’ve tried to find out who David Bate was/is, but I have drawn a blank. I noticed his name because there is a family who live in Bangor called Bate.

Chris Bate is an accountant and his wife Nan Bate is a magistrate. I don’t know where Chris Bate grew up, but Nan is the daughter of the man who was the leading Top Doctor in the Caernarfon and Bangor area during the postwar years. Chris is the accountant for two friends of mine and before I got the hell out of Wales, one of those friends had a stroke – he’d had a stroke previously, but the Top Doctors told him that he had a middle ear infection, so he was left untreated and then had an even bigger stroke – and I went to visit him in hospital. Chris and Nan Bate turned up to visit him at the same time. During the visit, the wife of the man who’d had the stroke began reminiscing how, as a child, at Christmas, her Methodist Minister dad used to take her and her siblings to visit children in hospitals and orphanages. Nan piped up and said that when she was a child, her father and mother too used to take her to visit children in hospital on Christmas morning and she hated it. The children whom Nan was taken to visit were children in the very hospital that we were sitting in, when it had been used for a different purpose! The reason why Nan hated the visits was that she didn’t like the children – they were ‘nutters’ with awful hairstyles and naff clothes. So I asked Nan if the children were what would now be called learning disabled or whether they were children with mental health problems. Nan said that she didn’t know, they were just nutters and she hated them.

Nan Bate’s Top Doctor father will have known Gwynne the lobotomist and he probably knew the young Dafydd as well. When Dafydd had that infamous photo taken of himself which he used to show to young women and say ‘This is me when I began my medical training. Don’t ewe think I was handsome?’

Dafydd: as someone who saw that photo, I can absolutely assure you that even when you began your ‘medical training’ at the Sodom and Gomorrah that was Liverpool University Medical School, you were not in the least bit handsome. Instead of being an insane horrible old man, you were merely an insane horrible young man. You also looked really bonkers in that photo. Furthermore, I’m not sure what passed for ‘medical training’ at Liverpool in the 1950s, but it only seemed to train you in the ways of idiocy and crime.

Nan: those junior nutters will not have chosen their awful hairstyles and clothes. Your father’s colleagues did that for them. Furthermore, it was your father and his colleagues who had such a bad attitude to those kids that they didn’t even enlighten you, his own daughter, as to the harsh reality of their lives. What was the point of taking you to visit them on Christmas morning when you hated them and dismissed them as nutters? Or was that part of your training for your future career as a magistrate, when the nutters came up before you in Court, on the basis of the perjury of the people who were trained by the Top Docs of your father’s generation?

Oh Nan – tell us what you know about the paedophile ring in north Wales which was facilitated by your father, his colleagues and those with whom you sat/sit on the Bench will you? The ring who targeted the nutters.

Nan and her husband benefit from the sort of perks that nutters don’t. One one occasion some years ago, Nan got her paws on free tickets for a Rugby International in Cardiff and offered tickets and a lift down to some people whom I knew. They were a bit worried that they’d be cramped and uncomfortable on the long drive to Cardiff, particularly as they knew that the traffic would be bad and they’d be in a jam for quite a while. Nan told them that they didn’t need to worry, she had just purchased a new Merc, it was top of the range and had every adaption necessary to ensure passenger comfort even on the longest of journeys.

The nutters would have to go on the bus. If they ever could afford the tickets to the big match.

One man who has famously travelled to many big rugby matches is Max Boyce, who became famous in the 1970s for singing songs about the hardship of mining as well as lighter ditties regarding getting pissed with the lads at Twickers and taking detours to Soho. Max Boyce is gay and has been for years. How do I know? Because a paedophiles’ friend from north Wales told me some years ago. He should know – he knew the people in Cardiff who were alleged to be, to use Brown’s phrase, ‘peddling their arses’ to Max and friends. The paedophiles’ friend also knew boys in care in north Wales who were peddling their arses more locally, including to a solicitor in Caernarfon. That particular solicitor is a friend of Aled Griffiths the Buffet Slayer and in the past has been invited to give talks to visiting international students at Bangor Law School. Not that the Slayer told the visitors that they were meeting a solicitor from Caernarfon – the visitors were told that they were meeting a ‘real British judge’.

As one of the nutters said to Dafydd back in the 1990s, regarding the death of Mary Wynch’s mother: ‘I’m not saying that you were the doctor responsible – but it looks like you did it.’

A major beano has been planned for Carlo’s 70th birthday in November. It will include a gala at the London Palladium starring a few folk from the Magic Circle whom Carlo has ‘supported’. I was surprised to read in the Torygraph that Carlo himself is a member of the Magic Circle, he has been since the mid-1970s. My post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’ mentioned that Sir Owen Saunders, a paedophiles’ friend who used his knowledge of serious crime on the part of the Top Doctors and others to vastly expand his empire at Imperial College and who was VC of London University, 1967-69, was an enthusiastic member of the Magic Circle. As of course was Greville Janner.

Does anyone have any dirt on Ali Bongo, the children’s favourite of the 1970s, who memorably always wore a pair of ladies tights when he used to appear on TV?

Life In Cold Blood

Previous posts have described how the security services monitored what was happening in north Wales, as well as at other places such as St George’s Hospital Medical School and Springfield Hospital, but used their resources to protect Dafydd et al, not their victims. It was obvious to me that ‘national security’ was being defined in terms of avoiding reputational damage to institutions such as law and medicine, although the corruption was so serious many lives were undoubtedly at risk.

While reading Hugo Young’s biography of Thatcher, ‘One Of Us’, I was reminded of a landmark judgement during that Thatcher years, in which the interests of the Gov’t were defined as the interests of ‘national security’, no matter what the interests of the Gov’t was.

In 1984, Clive Ponting, a senior civil servant in the MoD, felt that the deception and misinformation on the part of the Cabinet regarding the sinking of the Belgrano during the Falklands conflict was so great that he leaked sensitive Gov’t documents to Parliament via the Labour MP for Linlithgow, Tam Dalyell. Clive Ponting had witnessed discussions between Michael Heseltine, the then Defence Secretary and Heseltine’s officials, who concluded that Parliament should continue to be misled regarding the sinking of the Belgrano.

When Ponting was identified as the source of the leaked documents, he was prosecuted under section 2 of the Official Secrets Act. The presiding judge at Ponting’s 1985 trial was Justice McCowan.

Ponting was subsequently acquitted by the jury, despite remarks in McCowan’s summing up which, as ‘The Daily Telegraph’ said in a leading article, ‘seemed to lean heavily towards the prosecution case’. Ponting’s defence had been that his actions were to save Parliament from being misled and were therefore in the interests of the State (a defence under the Act). McCowan ruled that the interests of the State must mean the interests of the Gov’t of the day, to which the Civil Service was bound by a relationship of trust. McCowan’s ruling meant that civil servants had no higher duty than their duty to carry out the instructions of Ministers.

So it was Justice McCowan who determined that if the Gov’t wished to conceal the crimes of a pan-European sex trafficking ring which was murdering witnesses, that was in the national interest.

Sir Anthony James Denys McCowan (12 January 1928 – 3 July 2003) was a British barrister and judge of the High Court of Justice and Court of Appeal. After attending Epsom College, McCowan studied at Brasenose College, Oxford, where he was a member of the University Conservative Association. McCowan was called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn in 1951. Sir William Mars-Jones, President of UCNW, 1982-95 and Ronnie Waterhouse’s friend, who acted as an umbrella for Dafydd and the trafficking gang for years, was a member of Gray’s Inn. After building up a practice in criminal, property and personal injury law, McCowan was made a QC in 1972 and was appointed a judge of the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court of Justice in 1981. In 1989 McCowan became a judge of the Court of Appeal, but only sat for eight years until ill health forced him to retire in 1997.

McCowan was born in Georgetown, Guyana, the son of a magistrate. In 1951 he helped found the Bow Group, the first meeting of which was attended by, among others, William Rees-Mogg, Geoffrey Howe and Norman St John Stevas. Howe worked as a barrister on the corrupt Chester and Wales Circuit and was a lifelong friend of Sir Ronnie Waterhouse. When I worked at St George’s Hospital Medical School, a member of staff who was well-acquainted with the gay scene told me that St John Stevas was known to be ‘holding spanking parties with little boys’ and that ‘no-one knows how he is getting away with it’.

McCowan’s pupillage was with Stanley Rees, at 1 Crown Office Row. Sir Stanley Rees was born in South Africa. His father was an English doctor of Welsh descent and Rees subsequently read law at University College, Oxford. After taking Silk in 1957, Rees defended in a series of high profile criminal trials at the Old Bailey, including the Brighton police corruption case, at which his client was acquitted. Rees was Recorder of Croydon, 1961-62 and the last Chairman of the East Sussex Quarter Sessions, 1964-71. When Rees was appointed a High Court judge in 1962, he went into the Family Division. His most famous case was the wardship proceedings concerning the three children of the 7th Earl and Countess of Lucan.

In the drawn-out first hearing in 1973, Rees – unimpressed with Lord Lucan’s character – gave custody to Lady Lucan, a decision that Lord Lucan’s friends later suggested had triggered the events of the following year. Although Lord Lucan had been granted ‘reasonable access’ to his children, his friend John Aspinall later said that the decision had been a ‘terrible blow’.

On the evening of November 7 1974, a year after the custody hearing, Lady Lucan ran into a Belgravia pub with blood on her face, saying that she had just escaped from a murderer. The police later found the body of the family nanny, Sandra Rivett, in a mailbag in the basement of Lady Lucan’s house.

Lady Lucan told police that she had gone downstairs to find the nanny when her estranged husband attacked her. When challenged by her, he said that he had mistaken the nanny for her and killed her. A warrant was soon issued for Lord Lucan’s arrest and a search was launched along the Sussex coast near Newhaven where it was believed he may have committed suicide; another theory was that he had fled overseas.

A week after Lucan’s disappearance, Rees presided at a further hearing concerning the children and after two and a half hours of secret consultation with Lady Lucan, he announced that the children would remain with their mother. Lord Lucan was never seen again.

After being attacked by her husband, Lady Lucan had the misfortune to end up in the hands of St George’s Hospital and her sanity was questioned. Lady Lucan always maintained that the various Top Doctors who pronounced on her alleged mental health problems were taking instructions from her husband.

The coroner who presided over the inquest of Sandra Rivett, Dr Paul Knapman, was a St George’s graduate himself and in his capacity as the coroner for Westminster presided over some of the highest profile inquests of the 20th century. When I worked in medical research in London I was told quite explicitly that Knapman was corrupt.

Sir Anthony McCowan practised in London and on the South Eastern Circuit. He became leader of the South Eastern Circuit in 1978, having been appointed Deputy Chairman of the East Sussex Quarter Sessions in 1969. McCowan was a member of the Parole Board for England and Wales, 1982-84 and of the Crown Court Rule Committee, 1982-88. In 1986, the year after the Ponting case, McCowan became Presiding Judge of the South Eastern Circuit. Throughout the 1970s and 80s, John Allen owned brothels in Brighton, Sussex, where kids from children’s homes in north Wales were trafficked.

On 3 Oct 1989 McCowan was appointed to the Court of Appeal of England and Wales and made a Privy Councillor. In 1991 McCowan was made Senior Presiding Judge of England and Wales, a position he held until ill-health forced him to resign in 1995. He resigned from the Bench two years later.

1991 was the year of the Great Cover-Up; the year that I and my two friends who worked in the media and who wanted to make a film about north Wales had our careers ruined (see post ‘The Turn Of The Screw’); the year that there were two attempts to have me imprisoned by the paedophiles’ friends in north Wales, one of those attempts taking place at the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand (see post ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’); the year that the Somerset contingent who knew what was happening to me in north Wales really began raking in the money (see post ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’); and the year that Lilibet gave Sir Peter Morrison his knighthood and also handed out honours to a few others who were involved in the Westminster Paedophile Ring.

The Lord Chancellor when McCowan was appointed Senior Presiding Judge of England and Wales was paedophiles’ friend Lord James Mackay (see post ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’).

When he was young, Anthony McCowan had briefly featured on Conservative Central Office’s list of approved Parliamentary candidates, but soon decided to concentrate on the Bar.

During the 1980s McCowan presided in a number of highly publicised IRA trials. After his promotion to the Court of Appeal, McCowan was one of the judges on the appeal of the Maguire Seven in 1991; the appellants had spent 15 years in prison after being jailed at the Old Bailey for running an IRA bomb factory. Following an 18 day hearing, the judges allowed the appeal on the sole ground that traces of nitroglycerine found on their hands and gloves at their north London home, which formed the basis for their convictions, could have been the result of innocent contamination. They rejected five other grounds of appeal, in particular claims that the prosecution scientists had deliberately withheld relevant evidence.

The miscarriage of justice involving the Macguire Seven was quite extraordinary. There was no evidence against them, they had been horrifically brutalised while in police custody, including Anne McGuire – a middle aged lady who was a member of the local Conservative Club – and her 14 year old son Patrick. After she was released, Anne McGuire gave interviews in which she said that despite the brutality that she had suffered at the hands of the police, she never thought that she would be convicted because the allegations were so ludicrous. As with the Birmingham Six, virtually every professional involved in the Macguire Seven case had lied and lied and lied.

It was Anthony McCowan, in his capacity as Lord Justice McCowan, who in March 1993 rejected the application of the families of six victims of Hillsborough for a judicial review to quash the Hillsborough inquest verdict.

Clive Ponting was not the first civil servant under Thatcher’s Gov’t to have been prosecuted under the Official Secrets Act. In 1983, Sarah Tisdall, then an FCO clerical officer, leaked British Gov’t documents to ‘The Guardian’ and was subsequently jailed. in 1983. Tisdall anonymously sent ‘The Guardian’ photocopied documents detailing when American cruise missiles would be arriving in Britain. The documents set out the political tactics that Heseltine, then Defence Secretary, would use to present the matter in the Commons.

There did not appear to be any threat to national security in the revelation but the Gov’t nonetheless brought a legal action against ‘The Guardian’, seeking an order requiring the newspaper to reveal its source. Although ‘The Guardian’ successfully argued that it was protected by section 10 of the Contempt of Court Act 1981 from providing the information, the judgement by Justice Scott was almost immediately overturned. The appeal by the Attorney-General – paedophiles’ friend Michael Havers – was on the grounds that although the documents themselves were harmless, a civil servant capable of leaking them might leak other documents which could pose a threat to national security.

‘The Guardian’ complied with a court order to hand over the documents, which were identified as coming from a FCO photocopying machine. The machine led to Tisdall. In March 1984, Tisdall pleaded guilty to a charge under section 2 of the Official Secrets Act 1911. She was sentenced to six months in jail, but was released after four months.

‘The Guardian’ handed over the documents when the Editor Peter Preston realised that he might go to prison if they did not. So Sarah went to prison instead. There was much criticism of Preston from other journos at the time for failing to protect his source. But then Preston knew what was happening to kids in care and mental health patients in north Wales and he never published a word about it. Furthermore ‘The Guardian’ was accepting advertising revenue from Social Service Depts which they knew had been infiltrated by paedophiles. See post ‘Workers’ Play Time’.

The prosecutions of Tisdall and Ponting took place in an atmosphere of paranoia and panic on the part of Thatcher’s Gov’t re ‘national security’.

I cannot help wondering if Thatcher’s Gov’t were well aware that the wrongdoing of people like Peter Morrison and St John Stevas was so great that they were going into overdrive in order to ensure that it never became public. After all, whilst all this was happening, a bunch of benign students in Bangor had been placed under surveillance by the security services because of the fear that they were going to uncover the enormity of the crimes of Dafydd et al.

Heseltine: we were not terrorists, we were entirely harmless young people, with no money and no access to things like broadsheet editors. What on earth did you think that you were doing you mad old git? All I did was complain about an old pervert and people directly linked to your Gov’t tried to kill us and indeed did kill one of us.

My friend Anne Vernon was killed in the spring of 1986. Heseltine did not occupy any Ministerial position at the time of Anne’s death, because he had waltzed out of the Cabinet in Jan 1986, over the Westland row, another incident from which someone in Somerset who knew what was going on in north Wales did very well out of (see post ‘Those Who Wish To Serve’). Douglas Hurd was Home Secretary when Anne was murdered by the British state. Law-abiding harmless Anne, doing a PhD on noctuid moths, who’s mum was a teacher and who’s dad was an accountant. Because her closest friend in north Wales had complained about the people running the Westminster Paedophile Ring.

  • Weird But True!

  • Boris Johnson should negotiate our way out of 'Brexit mess ...

  • Douglas Hurd so hungover on Irish trip he had to be walked ...

Is it not extraordinary that Thatcher’s Gov’t set out to kill the young adult children of some solid Tory supporters?? I expect that Thatch thought that we were holding the country to ransom.

After completing my MSc at Hammersmith Hospital/Royal Postgraduate Medical School in June 1987, I spent a few months living with Brown and some others in Leicester. Brown was doing his PhD at the Centre for Mass Communication Research at Leicester University. I have mentioned previously that although Brown was in receipt of an ESRC studentship which covered tuition fees paid to Leicester University, he was given absolutely no facilities or mentoring at all. Not even a desk, although other PhD students were accommodated. So Brown made himself an office in our house and worked from home. The only facilities that Leicester University provided for him were library facilities.

Leicestershire was the location of the paedophile ring which included social worker Frank Beck and Labour MP Greville Janner. Beck had not been jailed when we were living in Leicester and Greville Janner had not yet been investigated by the police, although many complaints had been made about Beck and Janner. As in the case of north Wales, the police, the local authorities, the criminal justice system and the NHS in Leicestershire were fully on board with the gang, as were huge swathes of Leicester University, particularly those members of staff in the medical school, education, law and the social sciences (see posts ‘An Expert From England’, ‘Radical Leicester and Some Other Free Radicals’ and ‘Gwlad y Menig Gwynion’). Leicester University also had strong links to the BBC/media industry, as a result of the former Principal being the father of David and Richard Attenborough.

University of Leicester – view of the Attenborough tower.

David Attenborough’s bibliography includes: Zoo Quest to Guyana (1956); The Tribal Eye (1976); The Trials Of Life (1990); The Private Life Of Plants (1994); The Life Of Birds (1998); Amazing Rare Things (2007); Life In Cold Blood (2007).

David’s brother was the notorious luvvie dear, dear Dickie. Dickie starred in ‘I’m All Right Jack’ (1959). In the late 1950s, Attenborough formed a production company, Beaver Films and began to build a profile as a producer on projects including ‘The League Of Gentlemen’ (1959). His feature film directorial debut was the all-star screen version of the hit musical ‘Oh! What A Lovely War!’ (1969). Attenborough’s later films as Director and Producer include ‘Chaplin’ (1992).

After 33 years of service as President of the Muscular Dystrophy campaign, Attenborough became the charity’s Honorary Life President in 2004. In 2012, the charity established the Richard Attenborough Fellowship Fund to honour his lifelong commitment to the charity and to ensure the future of clinical research and training at leading UK neuromuscular centres.

Attenborough was also the Patron of the United World Colleges movement, whereby he contributed to the colleges that are part of the organisation. He was a frequent visitor to the Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa (UWCSA). The Baroness of Ely is involved with the United World Colleges movement, having attended Atlantic College, one of the United World Colleges, herself.

Attenborough was a longtime advocate of education that does not judge upon colour, race, creed or religion. His attachment to Waterford was his passion for non-racial education, which were the grounds on which Waterford Kamhlaba was founded. Waterford was one of his inspirations for directing the film ‘Cry Freedom’.

Attenborough founded the Richard Attenborough Arts Centre on the Leicester University campus in 1997, specifically designed to provide access for the disabled, in particular as practitioners.

Richard Attenborough was elected to the post of Chancellor of the University of Sussex in March 1998. He stood down as Chancellor of the University following graduation in July 2008. There now hangs a portrait of him in the newly opened Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts on the university campus.

Attenborough was also head of the consortium Dragon International Film Studios, which was constructing a film and television studio complex in Llanilid, Wales, nicknamed ‘Valleywood’.

Now why would Dickie have been taking an interest in poor old Wales just as people began demanding that the criminal investigation into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal should be re-opened?

In March 2008, the ‘Valleywood’ project was placed into administration with debts of £15 million and was considered for sale of the assets in 2011.

So which numpty in the Welsh Gov’t gave the green light to the nonsense in the first place?

Attenborough had a lifelong ambition to make a film about his hero the political theorist and revolutionary Thomas Paine, whom he called ‘one of the finest men that ever lived’. Attenborough said in an interview in 2006 that ‘I could understand him. He wrote in simple English. I found all his aspirations – the rights of women, the health service, universal education… Everything you can think of that we want is in Rights of Man or The Age of Reason or Common Sense’.

#Me Too Dickie!!

Sadly Dickie could not secure the funding for his feminist socialist blockbuster. Do you know Dickie, I too have found that if a bit of tenacity, sacrifice and God forbid cash is required for a Cause for the Oppressed, suddenly people become a great deal less enthusiastic.

The website ‘A Gift for Dickie’ was launched by two filmmakers from Luton in June 2008 with the aim of raising £40m in 400 days to help him make the film, but the target was not met and the money that had been raised was refunded. I would imagine that Dickie was a man who was very hard to buy for, so he probably just used to get socks and underpants for Christmas.

In Dec 2008, Dickie suffered a fall at his home after a stroke and was admitted to St George’s Hospital. He’ll have been OK there, they weren’t going to neglect or abuse Dickie, like Cilla he’ll have been useful for PR purposes. In Nov 2009, Dickie held a ‘house clearance’ sale and flogged off a few Lowries, Nevinsons and Sutherlands at Sotheby’s, generating £4.6 million. In Jan 2011, Dickie sold his estate on the Isle of Bute for £1.48 million.

In June 2012, shortly before her 90th birthday, Dickie’s wife Sheila Sim entered the professional actors’ retirement home Denville Hall, for which she and Dickie had helped raise funds. In Oct 2012, it was announced that Dickie was putting the family home, Old Friars, with its attached offices, Beaver Lodge, which come complete with a sound-proofed cinema in the garden, on the market for £11.5 million.

In Dec 2012, in light of his deteriorating health, Dickie moved into a nursing home in London to be with his wife. Dickie died on 24 August 2014, five days before his 91st birthday.

Lest anyone accuse me of being mean spirited and begrudging Dickie and his wife comfort in their later years, I honestly don’t. The reason why I ruthlessly take the piss out of people like Dickie and his extended clan is that they know something about the grim underbelly of the welfare services, yet they knowingly allow themselves to be used as a shameless PR vehicle if anyone dares to say ‘Oh Christ, look what happening here’.

After Frank Beck was given five life sentences and a further 24 years in prison in Nov 1991 at Leicester Crown Court for sexual and physical assaults, including rape, against more than one hundred children in his care, there was subsequently outrage in Parliament when Beck gave an interview to a local BBC radio station from inside prison. This was not only considered to have involved a huge misjudgement on the part of the BBC, but it transpired was also against Home Office rules. The BBC was colluding with abuse in high places, as was the Prison Service and the Home Office itself. All three institutions were endemically corrupt and were cravenly following instructions from Gov’t, even when those instructions were to conceal VIP traffickers. Justice McCowan had set the precedent. Concealing paedophiles with links to Gov’t was now in the interests of national security.

Why was anyone surprised that Greville Janner’s mate was allowed to address the nation from his prison cell?

I now realise that Brown and I – at that time with Dafydd and the gang in hot pursuit of us – probably could not have ended up living in a worse place than Leicester, if we were not going to live in north Wales, in the way that I could not have ended up working in a worse place than St George’s Hospital Medical School between 1989-91. Since beginning this blog I have been told that traps were laid for both of us to ensure that we ended up living and working on the manors of Dafydd’s mates. Dafydd’s gang had tentacles across Europe by the late 1980s, but Leicester and St George’s were hot spots, along with Haringey, Islington, Lambeth, Camden, Richmond-upon-Thames and Brighton.

Brown did his first degree at Aston University which was run by Sir Freddie Crawford, Thatcher’s mate who was a Freemason and at the heart of the corruption of civic life in Birmingham. Previous posts have explained how Brown and I were targeted by the gang when we were still undergrads. Brown wanted to do his PhD with the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies at Birmingham University.

The CCCS was a cool n trendy place, but it was most definitely under fire from Thatcher’s Gov’t, they hated it because of the perception that it was a colony of leftists. The CCCS was founded in 1964 by Richard Hoggart and Stuart Hall was Director, 1968-79. Raymond Williams was also involved with the creation of the CCCS. The CCCS produced some very famous sociologists, such as Angela McRobbie, Paul Gilroy and Paul Willis.

Birmingham University closed the CCCS suddenly in 2002. There was much outrage and it was widely perceived to have been a political move and a backlash against the CCCS as a result of so many of their staff locking horns with the authorities at Birmingham University over the years. However the CCCS did have a track record of a relatively high proportion of PhD students not completing.

The CCCS produced some excellent work, but some of their associates were among those on the left who were colluding with the Westminster Paedophile Ring. Since researching for this blog I have come across quite a few such names linked with the CCCS. It is very sad that everyone on the left talked about bringing down Thatcher, but the thing that would have done that would have been to have exposed Sir Peter Morrison, Norman St John Stevas and other child molesting Tories with Royal connections, but the lefties wouldn’t do it because there was the matter of Greville Janner, George Thomas and all those Labour-run Councils who were supplying kids in care to the gangs…

Then there was the gay scene, which no self-respecting leftie could dare reveal overlapped with the rent boy scene, the rent boys coming from the children’s homes of north Wales and elsewhere. I have been told that the reason why Dafydd et al became so over-excited about me was that when we were undergrads, Brown and I had been clocked going to a club in Birmingham which had a gender-bending contingent in attendance. We also used to frequent a clothes shop/designers in Birmingham called Kahn and Bell to buy our gear. Kahn and Bell jointly occupied a premises with a vintage clothes shop run by a man called Whiskers – I don’t know what his real name was – who was pretty stereotypical, all handle-bar moustache and leather and he used to compere at the gay nightclub Heaven. The shop used to get raided by the corrupt West Midlands Police on a regular basis who would charge in searching for ‘drugs’, but only ever find a load of young people with interesting hair-styles.

It is quite funny to think of those old fools Gwynne the lobotomist and Dafydd steaming away at the thought of a young woman with coloured hair who dared visit such places – obviously it could only mean that I’d be more than happy to drop my knickers for elderly Top Docs liberally covered in Brylcreem – but I don’t think that they should have tried to murder my friends and I when I said no thanks. Indeed I did just say no thanks, a lot of people seem to believe that I must have inflicted a crippling kick to their cerregs. I wish I had, I just thought that they were horrid old perverts trying their luck, I didn’t realise that they were running a paedophile gang targeting kids as young as 10.

Brown applied to the CCCS, was interviewed but didn’t get the offer of funding. They were very nice about it, wrote him a friendly letter telling him that he had performed very well and that his work was of an excellent standard, but funding was tight and difficult decisions were having to be made. Brown later noted that some much weaker candidates had been offered funding, but he didn’t dwell on it. Instead he came to live in our shared house with us on Anglesey, while he built up his publication list and waited for the next round of studentships.

I have been told that the paedophiles’ friends were desperate to keep Brown out of the CCCS and to ensure that he ended up instead at the Centre for Mass Communication in Leicester (the only other place which was researching his chosen field), where the plan was to do everything possible to stop him getting a PhD.

When Brown was a student at Aston, he became very friendly with a lecturer called Guy Cumberbatch and began publishing with him. Guy came up to stay with us on Anglesey one summer and at one point Brown lodged with Guy and his wife at their house in Leicester  and in return did the housework and baby sitting. Guy had previously worked at the Centre for Mass Communications in Leicester. Guy never discussed Dafydd and the paedophiles with us, but Guy was no fool and he took an interest in the murky underworld of political life. He also personally knew some of the 1980s figures who were loud voices on the morality scene, such as dear old Mary Whitehouse and the Rev Brian Brown (not THE Brown, just a pillock with the same name), as well as a senior policeman in the Obscene Publications division who I think was later accused of corruption. These folk all knew about the organised abuse of young people and were keeping schtum.

Guy particularly hated Freddie Crawford and in the end left Aston for Worcester University.

People have been telling me for ages that Guy was knifing Brown without our knowledge, but I haven’t put anything about it on the blog yet, but Brown recently confirmed that yes, Guy had done and said a few things that one would not have expected from a friend and mentor.

I don’t know whether Guy was bribed or threatened, but I am told that the rot had begun when Brown was an undergrad. It would also have been crucially important for Dafydd et al to nobble Guy, because Guy’s area of research was, in the 1980s, ‘video nasties’ and the like and research into whether such material really did increase aggression in children who watched it. Guy’s research interest was dangerously close to other questionable material – John Allen was producing child porn as well as trafficking children and young people.

Brown’s first degree was in psychology and there were close links between the Psychology Dept at Aston and the Psychology Dept at UCNW (Bangor). Margaret Newton at Aston, a dyslexia specialist, was a big mate of Prof Tim Miles, the dyslexia specialist at UCNW. Tim Miles was a lovely old boy, but he must have known about Dafydd and the paedophiles. Dafydd was pulling the strings in the Psychology Dept at UCNW until Prof Fergus Lowe overthrew Dafydd in the late 1980s and then created his own toxic empire based upon lying, cheating and holding everyone who had colluded with Dafydd over a barrel (see post ‘Feet In Chains’). Furthermore Tim Miles had built up his reputation as a result of his fieldwork with children on Anglesey in the mid-1960s. Not only had Dafydd conducted ‘mental health research’ on Anglesey, 1959-62, but Lucille Hughes had been a children’s social worker on Anglesey in the 1960s. Tim must have known that Dafydd and Lucille were running that gang, he couldn’t possibly have missed it.

One of the mature students on Brown’s course at Aston, Diane Underwood, after causing much grief to Brown and others before the end of the course, subsequently rocked up at UCNW, working for Fungus. Diane arrived at UCNW as the war against Brown and me really escalated. Oh and just to let us know that we were surrounded, Diane spotted us on the platform at Bangor Railway Station one day – now that was a coincidence – and made a point of coming up to Brown to make her presence known, but then refused to engage in conversation when I tried to talk to her. Diane now seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet.

Guy Cumberbatch knew about the murder threats that had been made to Brown and Guy knew that the man making them had previously violently assaulted someone. Dr D.G.E. Wood, the corrupt GP who worked in the Student Health Centre at UCNW, knew about the murder threats to Brown, as did Dr Adrian Bell, my tutor in the Dept of Plant Biology. There was no help or advice forthcoming from anyone.

Whether it was Guy who was responsible for Brown being rejected by the CCCS and subsequently ending up being ignored at Leicester University by Guy’s former colleagues, I do not know. But a few interesting things went on at the CCCS in those days.

Stuart Hall stood down as Director of the CCCS in 1979 to take up the position of Professor of Sociology at the Open University, but Hall remained a very powerful influence at the CCCS as well as in wider sociology as a whole and on the left.

Hall was born in Jamaica and in 1951 won a Rhodes Scholarship to Merton College, Oxford, becoming part of the Windrush generation. Hall continued his studies at Oxford by beginning a PhD but, galvanised particularly by the 1956 Soviet invasion of Hungary (which saw many thousands of members leave the Communist Party of Great Britain and look for alternatives to previous orthodoxies) and the Suez Crisis, abandoned this in 1957 or 1958 to focus on his political work. In 1957, Hall joined CND and it was on a CND march that he met his future wife, the feminist historian at UCL, Catherine Hall. From 1958 to 1960, Hall worked as a teacher in a London secondary modern school and in adult education.

After working on the ‘Universities and Left Review’ during his time at Oxford, Hall joined E.P. Thompson, Raymond Williams and others to merge it with ‘The New Reasoner’, launching the ‘New Left Review’ in 1960 with Hall as the founding Editor. In 1958, the same group, with the Marxist historian Raphael Samuel, launched the Partisan Coffee House in Soho as a meeting place for left-wingers. Hall left the board of the ‘New Left Review’ in 1961 or 1962.

E.P. Thompson was one of the radicals who had a second home at Croesor in north Wales, as did Eric Hobsbawm, who was also involved with the Partisan Coffee House. Thompson and Hobsbawm knew about Dafydd and the paedophile gang (see post ‘The Village’). Raphael Samuel knew Hobsbawm and Thompson well – Raphael Samuel taught at Ruskin for decades (see post ‘A Study In Tyranny’). Matt Arnold, who became the Head of Bryn Estyn in May 1973, taught at Ruskin in the mid-1960s and one of his students was Peter Howarth, to whom Arnold gave a job at Bryn Estyn in Nov 1973. Arnold bagged the job at Bryn Estyn after the previous Head, Peter Burton, his wife had their young son were killed in a car crash. The Deputy Head of Bryn Estyn was killed in the same crash. Peter Burton had only been in post for about a year when he was killed. His predecessor, David Ursell, had been suspended after only four years in post, after a complaint regarding the way in which he enforced discipline. Ursell’s predecessor Harold Bennett had retired in 1967 after 26 yrs.

As far as I can see, somebody badly wanted Matt Arnold in post as the Head of Bryn Estyn and that person could have been on manoeuvres by the late 1960s.

In 1969 John Allen established the Bryn Alyn Community.

It was in the latter half of the 1960s that Leo Abse began working towards bringing about what became the Children Act 1975. Abse co-ordinated everything single-handedly, but received assistance from others in ensuring that the legislation was passed, others which included childcare experts such as Dafydd’s colleagues and helpful politicians like Jim Callaghan and Dr Death (see post ‘Cry, The Beloved Country’). The Children Act 1975 vastly increased the number of children finding themselves in the hands of the paedophiles of north Wales.

To spare the readers of this blog the confusion that I experienced for years, let me explain that when the police and others made comment about paedophiles being ‘very clever people’ who are working in professional positions ‘high up’ in society, I think that it was Dafydd and his mates that they were referring to. Police: next time, can you please not use the sort language that one uses if one is addressing primary school pupils? If you had simply mentioned an insane old idiot in north Wales, I would have realised immediately to whom you were referring.

There was abuse at Bryn Estyn before Arnold and Howarth arrived, but once those two took up positions there, business really boomed. Arnold and Howarth had previously worked at Axwell Park Approved School in Gateshead, where there had been complaints of boys being abused.

Scores of Labour and trade union figures passed through Ruskin College, including John Prescott, who was a student there at the same time as Howarth and when Arnold was teaching at Ruskin. For details of Ruskin and those who taught or were students there, see post ‘A Study In Tyranny’.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Stuart Hall was closely associated with the journal ‘Marxism Today’ and in 1995, he was a founding editor of ‘Soundings: A Journal of Politics and Culture’. I can’t complain about ‘Soundings’, they published an article that Brown, I and a colleague at Bangor wrote about the north Wales mental health system.

Hall’s political influence extended to the Labour Party and had a profound impact on the Party under both the Windbag and Blair, although Hall was highly critical of New Labour. The Windbag – and his wife – knew all about Dafydd and the gang as well as of course George Thomas and Ron Davies’s penchant for moments of madness and looking for badgers. The Windbag had known Tony Francis, Dafydd’s partner in crime, when Francis was a student in Cardiff. When Brown applied to the CCCS, the Windbag was the leader of the Labour Party.

Stuart Hall was linked to the Centre for Mass Communication Research in Leicester. Hall first presented his ‘encoding and decoding’ philosophy in the form of ‘Encoding and Decoding in the Television Discourse’ (1973), a paper he wrote for the Council of Europe Colloquy on ‘Training in the Critical Readings of Television Language’ organised by the Council & the Centre for Mass Communication Research at Leicester. In 1974 the paper was presented at a symposium on Broadcasters and the Audience in Venice.

There was quite a degree of hostility between broadcasters and media academics and a lot of people in academia grumbled that a few academics such as Guy Cumberbatch and Alastair Hetherington were too close to broadcasters. Hetherington was the son of Hector Hetherington, a professor at University College Cardiff who later became Principal of Glasgow University. Alastair Hetherington served in the Intelligence Corps in WWII and then went into journalism. He was Editor of ‘The Guardian’ for nearly twenty years and then was appointed as Controller of BBC Scotland.

In 1982 Hetherington was given a Chair by Stirling University. There was much gnashing of teeth and my two friends who’s media careers were killed in the early 1990s and who found a gangster after them when they had wanted to make a film about north Wales (see post ‘The Turn Of The Screw’), were media students at Stirling at the time. My friends were among those who signed a letter to ‘The Scotsman’ in protest at Stirling appointing Hetherington – who had until then had no academic background – as a toadying gesture to the rich and famous (see post ‘Workers’ Play Time’). I have recently found that this did not go unnoticed by those who were protecting national security – my friends were already under surveillance because of their friendship with Brown and me.

One of my friends had that Jack McConnell in her bed once – without her permission either (see post ‘The Turn Of The Screw’). Now Jack would never have become First Minister of Scotland and then Lord Jack if he had not kept schtum about celebrity paedophiles (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – The Scottish Play’). You might be friends with Kirsty Wark Jack, but I’ve got 10,000 documents.

Stuart Hall’s colleague Richard Hoggart was the father of Simon Hoggart, the journo and Parliamentary sketch writer who knew about the Westminster Paedophile Ring.

Raymond Williams, another pal of Hall et al, was a Marxist cultural theorist. Williams was Welsh, but investigated his Welsh identity from the perspective of someone who grew up on the Welsh-English border near Abergavenny. Williams was the son of a railway worker in a village where all of the railwaymen voted Labour while the local small farmers mostly voted Liberal. Williams’s writings on cultural theory are great, but his novel ‘Border Country’ sent me into such a sound sleep that I didn’t finish it.

When Raymond Williams was at Trinity College, Cambridge, he joined the Communist Party of Great Britain and, along with Eric Hobsbawm, Williams was given the task of writing a Communist Party pamphlet about the Russo-Finnish War. Williams became part of the New Left in the 1950s, but by the 1970s he was a member of Plaid, which is why Leanne Wood, who styles herself as a Plaid Marxist, mentions him when she’s on ‘Any Questions’.  Raymond did ignore that paedophile gang though Leanne. But then so did you. When Leanne quoted Raymond Williams on ‘Any Questions’, she referred to ‘a man called Raymond Williams’. Dimbleby elaborated and said ‘you mean the sociologist Raymond Williams’. No Dimbleby, he was a cultural theorist. At least Leanne managed to get his gender right. I would have thought that the BBC could have dug up someone who knew who Raymond Williams was.

Williams retired from his post at Cambridge University in 1983 and spent his last years in Saffron Walden.

Castle Street contains many historic buildings. It always reminds me of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

Bridge End Gardens, a group of seven interlinked 19th-century gardens, including a maze, rose garden and walled garden. Just like the scree slopes of Snowdonia.

Saffron Walden’s MP, for its eponymous Westminster constituency, was Sir Alan Haselhurst, 1977-17. It has been considered a safe seat for the Conservative Party since 1922. I know a little bit about Saffron Walden, because one of my house mates from my undergrad days at UCNW came from there. He was one of those who knew what was happening to me at the hands of the Top Docs and he was also a victim of the chaos that rained down upon us in 1983, when the gift from the security services that was Trishles came our way (see posts ‘He Got On His Bike And Looked For Work’ and ‘A Local Boy Made Good?’). My friend from Saffron Walden was driven out of his job with a drug company in 1991!

The security services will have heard all the phone calls that we were making to each other as we were all driven out of our jobs within weeks of each other.

Tony Blair was elected as MP for Sedgefield in June 1983. Sedgefield is a constituency just down the road from the territory of the paedophile gang in the north east, of which Matt Arnold and Peter Howarth were members, until they relocated to Bryn Estyn. During the 1970s and 80s, hundreds of children in care from the north east were sent to children’s homes in north Wales (see post ‘Another Episode Of Friends…’).

Before he became an MP, Blair was a pupil barrister of George Carman QC. Carman knew about Dafydd and the paedophiles and he was retained by Greville Janner and Jimmy Savile, lest he was needed. Cherie also worked in Carman’s Chambers.

Ron Davies was elected as the Labour MP for Caerphilly on the same day that Blair won Sedgefield. In 1998, Blair was just about to appoint Ron as First Secretary of the new National Assembly of Wales, but poor old Ron was caught with his trousers down on Clapham Common in the company of Boogie, a male prostitute. Of course, as Rhodri Morgan explained, Rhodri ‘didn’t know’ that Ron had such encounters because Ron cleverly covered his tracks. So carefully that Ron used to go cottaging at Cardiff’s most popular tourist attraction (see post ‘Cottaging At Castle Gate’):

In 2007 a collection of Raymond Williams’ papers was deposited at Swansea University by his daughter Merryn, herself ‘a poet and author’. Merryn’s bio on her website tells us: ‘I went to grammar school in Hastings in eleven-plus days, studied English at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, and got a doctorate for my thesis on Thomas Hardy’s novels. After that I taught adult students for the Open University and the W.E.A., living for several years near Cranfield University where my husband worked as a physicist. I am literary adviser to the Wilfred Owen Association, having a great interest in the poets of the First World War.’

There’s a down to earth Welsh girl for you!

  • Labour leadership: Owen Smith says party faces division ...

Oily got his hopes up, but I think they’ve been dashed now. Oily didn’t live in Saffron Walden, Oily lived in Surrey, until he decided that he’d like to be a Cabinet Minister, preferably Chancellor of the Exchequer. Then he remembered his dad and the pits and the NHS and Nye Bevan and Oily moved to Pontypridd.

Oily’s dad wrote the 2008 volume, ‘Raymond Williams: a Warrior’s Tale’.

Warrier???? He pussy-footed around a gang of sex traffickers and lived in Saffron Walden after spending a few decades at Cambridge University.

The Raymond Williams Society was established in 1989 ‘to support and develop intellectual and political projects in areas broadly connected with Williams’s work.’ Presumably that includes banging on about peace, socialism and feminism while keeping schtum about a gang of paedophiles who are murdering witnesses. The Raymond Williams Centre for Recovery Research was opened at Nottingham Trent University in 1995. The Raymond Williams Foundation (RWF) supports activities in adult education. A collaborative research project building on Williams’s investigation of cultural keywords, called the ‘Keywords Project’, was established in 2006 and is supported by Jesus College, University of Cambridge and the University of Pittsburgh.

The person who interviewed Brown at CCCS was Professor Michael Green. Brown told me that Michael Green ‘came over as a bit of a twit despite the loving obituaries which he inspired’, but Brown presumed that he just hadn’t hit it off with Green. The other media specialist who was at CCCS when Brown wanted to do a PhD with them was Ann Gray, who ended up with a Chair at Lincoln University.

So after drawing a blank at the CCCS, Brown was offered a studentship at the Centre for Mass Communication Research at Leicester University, which unbeknown to him was at the heart of a load of people concealing the activities of Lord Greville, Frank Beck et al, who had close links to Dafydd and the gang in north Wales.

The Centre for Mass Communication Research was established in 1966 under Prof Jim Halloran’s directorship, initially concentrating on delivering PhDs. In 1978 the Social Science Research Council (predecessor of the ESRC) invited Halloran to design and deliver the UK’s first Masters Degree in media and communications.

Brown’s supervisor at Leicester was Paul Hartmann ‘who was affable enough, but we mostly made small talk about his motorbike and building projects he was undertaking around his house, so there wasn’t much by way of solid academic advice’. So Brown did it by himself.

The backgrounds of the senior managers at Leicester University when Brown was a PhD student there and an account of an interesting game of musical chairs which took place at the very top of the institution can be read in my post ‘Gwlad y Menig Gwynion’.

As for my arrival at St George’s in 1989 as a result of an offer of a job opportunity which seemed to be a dream come true but turned out to be a living nightmare (see post ‘St George’s Hospital Medical School, 1989/1990…’), I have been told that it was all stage-managed as carefully as Brown’s eventual arrival at Leicester was. D.G.E. Wood et al in north Wales knew that I was looking for a research post, preferably in the area of fertility studies, which would allow me to complete a PhD at the same time and I responded to an advert in ‘New Scientist’ placed by St George’s offering such an opportunity. Now for the really interesting bit. When I was interviewed, it was for a fixed term contract as a research assistant. St George’s then telephoned me that evening, told me that I hadn’t got the job that I’d applied for, but I was such a good candidate that they were prepared to create a job for me, a permanent one at that and could I start immediately…

I knew that Prof Oliver Brooke at St George’s had been imprisoned for child porn offences in 1986, but I had no idea that he was a key figure in a pan-European paedophile ring containing many professional people, with which Dafydd’s gang were directly linked (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part III’). Neither did I realise that many members of Brooke’s gang were still working at St George’s, Springfield Hospital and in Wandsworth Social Services, that I’d be surrounded by them and that the only reason why I was offered that job was to hound me out of medical research and ensure that I didn’t get back in again. After Brooke was jailed, Sir William Asscher was appointed as Dean of St George’s. Asscher had spent his whole career in Cardiff, he was a mate of Dafydd et al and he’d concealed their crimes as well as the offending of George Thomas, for years. Asscher was sent to St George’s for no other reason than to continue with the cover-up post-Brooke, he kept a home in Glamorgan and moved back there when he retired from St George’s. See post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’.

Here’s a man who knew what was going on but who’s desire to become PM was greater than his concern for the lives of the witnesses who’s corpses were regularly turning up in north Wales:

Neil Kinnock 1980s Stock Photos & Neil Kinnock 1980s Stock ...

It was just after I began the job at St George’s that Gwynedd Health Authority took me to the High Court in Cardiff in an attempt to obtain an injunction to prevent me even writing to them to pursue my complaints (see post ‘Some Big Legal Names Enter The Arena’.  The legal advice was given by Andrew Park, the crooked lawyer who was employed by the Welsh Office. The Secretary of State for Wales at the time was Peter Walker.

The barrister who witnessed the extraordinary scenes in Chester Court on the occasion in 1990 when four members of the paedophile gang perjured themselves repeatedly and 14 charges against me had to be thrown out of Court – the barrister herself was deliberately sent to the wrong Court, leaving her no time to prepare my defence – was Suzanne Evans. Suzanne was friendly and courteous towards me, but she knew that four people had lied repeatedly on oath, she knew that the judge – Justice Roch – had simply ignored their perjury AND Suzanne witnessed Roch offer to give the four perjurers more time to rewrite their affidavits. Furthermore Suzanne knew that she had been sent to the wrong Court. I have documents in my possession written by a lawyer employed by Gwynedd County Council which not only make it clear that Gwynedd County Council were told about the change in Court and judge in advance but my team wasn’t, but also indicate that the four perjurers from the Arfon Community Mental Health Team had not actually previously seen the affidavits that they had allegedly sworn. See post ‘Some Big Legal Names Enter The Arena’.

Suzanne Evans is a graduate of St Anne’s College, Oxford and is now working as a Family Law barrister at Oriel Chambers in Liverpool and Preston.

‘In the Public Law arena she acts predominantly for parents, appearing in cases involving a wide range of key issues including neglect, addictions, non-accidental injury, domestic violence, mental health etc. In care proceedings she acts for parents, grandparents, Children’s Guardians and Local Authorities. In Private Law Children cases Suzanne acts for parents involved in the sometimes complex and distressing process of resolving the arrangements for their children post separation.’

Suzanne, you watched four members of a paedophile ring perjure themselves in an attempt to have me imprisoned and you watched a judge collude with them. Didn’t you think that you should have followed this up, rather than just have walked out of the door when 14 allegations against me were demonstrated to be fallacious?

The Home Secretary at the time was David Waddington, the Lord Chancellor was Lord Mackay and the Attorney-General who had authorised the prosecution was Sir Patrick Mayhew.

By the time that I was working at St George’s, some of those in Somerset who knew what was happening to me at the hands of Dafydd et al had acquired a great deal of money and a few others had found their careers taking a sudden turn for the better (see posts ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’ and ‘Those Who Are Ready To Serve’).

I have explained in previous posts how the Somerset contingent suddenly found themselves tripping over aristos with connections to the Gov’t. I am trying to work out when the odious David Kirke and the Dangerous Sports Club began to spend their time in the region of the Cottage Inn near Fiddington – it must have been in about late 1985. In Nov 1986, the BBC TV programme ‘The Late Late Breakfast Show’ which was presented by Noel Edmonds, set up a badly managed stunt involving a bungee jump which resulted in the death of the volunteer, Michael Lush. There was an almighty fuss and I can remember the twat Kirke pompousing away in the media (and in Somerset) explaining how the BBC should have taken advice from him and if they had done that no-one would have died. Two of Kirke’s mates from Somerset later succeeded in killing a Bulgarian student by firing him from a medieval catapult in Nov 2002. There was a prosecution for manslaughter in 2004 but the nice lady judge at Bristol directed the jury to acquit the two defendants.

By the time that Michael Lush died, I had heard a great deal about Kirke, he must have been hanging around in Somerset for a year or so by then. So the son of the Governor of the Bank of England and his mates found themselves in close proximity to people who knew me at the end of 1985 or so. I hadn’t yet encountered Dafydd by then, but I had encountered D.G.E. Wood, Gwynne the lobotomist and Tony Francis. I had contacted Keith Best, the MP for Anglesey, about the problems that I was having with the north Wales mental health services and he in turn had written to the paedophiles’ friend Lord Wyn Roberts. Best and Roberts were Ministers at the Welsh Office and at that time Nicholas Edwards was Secretary of State for Wales (see post ‘The Cradle Of Filth’ and ‘Old Nick Bites The Dust’). Everyone was concealing the trafficking gang.

The Secretary of State for the DHSS at the time was Norman Fowler, who is currently Lord Speaker:

The Home Secretary at the time was Douglas Hurd, who assumed that office on 2 Sept 1985. Hurd was the nephew of the botanist Prof Edred Henry Corner, who knew Prof Greig-Smith, of the Plant Biology Dept at UCNW (see post ‘Additional Security Meaures’). Greig-Smith was a colleague of scores of people who were concealing the trafficking gang, including Chris Wood, who was the wife of D.G.E. Wood and Ralph Oxley, who’s wife Isabel Hargreaves worked as a social worker for Gwynedd Social Services. One member of staff in Plant Biology, Dr John Wilson, was known to be picking up under-aged girls in Bangor for sex and Dr Adrian Bell and his wife Alison were worried that John Wilson was going to get himself arrested and cause a scandal. John’s conduct was widely known to staff in the Plant Biology Dept as well as to those in the Zoology Dept. Other people whom I heard directly commenting on it included John Farrar, who many years later became a PVC at Bangor University and his wife Stel. At the time Stel had just finished her PhD, but years later she worked as a lecturer in the Dept of Lifelong Learning, while the Head of Dept was Meri Huws. In the 1980s Meri Huws worked as a community social worker on the Maesgeirchan estate in Bangor, the location of the Ty’r Felin children’s home, where the social workers trafficked the children for sex, including to Dolphin Square (see post ‘Are You Local?’). David Roberts, a technician who worked in the Zoology Dept, also knew about John pursuing school girls.

By the way, is there anyone else out there who would like to continue passing the tittle tattle on about me which they know damn well was made up by a gang of sex offenders because I had found out some of what they were doing? Stel? Fancy refusing to speak to me at a party again? What about you Meri? Feel like giving me one of your ‘you are a piece of shit’ looks? I can’t ask Fungus because the old bastard’s dead, but one day I really must go for an extended tour through Caernarfon and Bangor and watch everybody’s expressions now that I’ve outed the whole bloody lot of you on the internet. Did you really think that I didn’t know what at least some of you were colluding with, although it would seem that even more of you were colluding with serious crime that I realised…

Whilst huge swathes of UCNW concealed a trafficking gang, Carlo was the Chancellor. Sir Peter Morrison’s sister Dame Mary was Woman-of-the-Bedchamber to Carlo’s mum. Then there was Carlo’s mate the Duke of Westminster, who was President of the City of Chester Conservative Association, who’s members were openly gossiping about their constituency MP Peter Morrison molesting young boys.

Now back in the mid 1980s, not only were some of the zoologists and plant biologists personal friends/relations of the Top Docs and the gang, but even biologists had to ensure that they grovelled with the best to big wigs lest they lost jobs or funding. So let’s have a look at some of those to whom the biologists had to toady.

A lot of funding for the research in the natural sciences at UCNW came from NERC, the Natural Environment Research Council. By the mid-1980s, people were getting worried about their ability to extract dosh from NERC, but up until just a few years previously, they didn’t have to work very hard for their dosh at all. They would just stick the grant applications in and everyone would be given funding for a few PhD students. The biological sciences at UCNW had established their reputation in the late 1960s as a result of the work of people like Prof Greig-Smith and Prof John Harper and their work was well-supported.

The Chief Exec of NERC, 1965-70, was mathematician and meteorologist Sir Graham Sutton. Sutton was Vice-President of what became Aberystwyth University, 1967-76, when Aber was hosting paedophiles’ friends en masse and churning out crooked lawyers who concealed the crimes of paedophile gang. Until the constituent colleges of the University of Wales became independent universities in the own right quite recently, Aber and Bangor were both part of the wider University of Wales. Carlo was Chancellor of the whole of the University and there was a close relationship between Aber and Bangor. Both colleges had Depts of Biological Sciences and Agriculture doing similar things and there was a bit of traffic between those Depts.

The son of one of Dafydd’s Angels – one of Dafydd’s key henchmen actually – has lectured for years in botany at Aberystwyth University. His sister was a children’s social worker who was employed by the Office of the Children’s Commissioner for Wales.

  • Strange but true

Sutton was born in Monmouthshire and was educated at Pontywaun Grammar School, then Aberystwyth University and then at Jesus College, Oxford. The former Principal of Bangor Normal College, the teacher training institution which crawled with paedophiles’ friends, is Professor Gareth Roberts, a mathematician who went to Jesus College, Oxford. I think that Professor Roberts also held a senior role in Gwynedd Education Authority at some point in the past and I think that he also worked as a Schools Inspector in Gwynedd. Meri Huws was employed as a lecturer at the Normal College after her stint as a social worker, as was Aled Griffiths. Aled Griffiths aka the Buffet Slayer has a brother, Huw, who was a solicitor in Gwynedd who spent years sitting in Court watching the paedophile gang stitch people up. Aled’s sister Gwenan Carrington was the Director of Gwynedd Social Services whilst her staff abused and neglected their clients and Aled’s wife Joanna Griffiths fulfilled exactly the same role in Conwy Social Services. Back in the pre-Cambrian, the Buffet Slayer was President of the Students’ Union at UCNW.

‘We didn’t know.’

Oh don’t be so bloody ridiculous, you were all working cheek by jowl with that gang of paedophiles.

After a year teaching mathematics at Canton Secondary SchoolCardiff, between 1926-28 Sutton was a lecturer at University College, Aberystwyth before joining the Meteorological Office. He was seconded to Shoeburyness to work on the meteorological effects on gunnery practices and then transferred to Porton Down, best known as the Gov’t research establishment which among other things researches chemical and biological warfare. By the 1980s the only people who would work at Porton Down were those who would do anything for the comparatively high salaries on offer there.

Whilst working at Porton Down, Sutton was put in charge of the notorious 1942 trial which involved the release of anthrax spores over Gruinard Island as part of a biological warfare project.

When WWII ended, Sutton was made Chief Superintendent of the Radar Research and Development Establishment, Malvern, a position he held until 1947, when he was appointed Professor of Mathematics at the Royal Military College of Science, Wiltshire. Sutton was Director-General of the Meteorological Office, 1953-65 and Vice-President of Aberystwyth University, 1967-76.

A previous post has mentioned that one of the botany students at UCNW, Peter Jackson, who knew what was happening to me at the hands of Dafydd et al landed a plum much sought after job with the RSPB after he graduated. He was an excellent naturalist but I have more recently been told that he was one of many who used his knowledge of what was being concealed in high places to secure his future.

The person who’s arm may have needed to be twisted at the time was Ian Prestt, Director General of the RSPB, 1975-91. Ian Prestt died in 1995 and his obituary in the Indie explains that after working as the Assistant Regional Officer (SW England), Nature Conservancy 1956-59, Prestt went to work for the RSPB, ‘appointed by the great Max Nicholson, doyen of international conservationists and then Head of the Nature Conservancy, as “his ornithologist”‘. Prestt worked at the Monks Wood Experimental Station, teasing out the relationships between ingested chlorinated hydrocarbons and the thin shells of birds’ eggs, leading to recognition of the threats to food chains and to humans.

Later Prestt worked at the Cabinet Office and in the Department of the Environment, under Secretaries of State Peter Walker and then Geoffrey Rippon, to wrestle with the pollution problems which were part of the roots of the subsequent Environment Bill. Walker was Secretary of State for the Environment, 1970-72, under Ted Heath. Peter Walker must have really had the dirt on Dafydd et al because this Tory wet who served in Heath’s Gov’t was retained by Thatch and served as Secretary of State for Energy, 1983-87. Thatch put him in that post because she knew that Scargill and the NUM were gearing up for the mother of all battles and she trusted Peter Walker to organised the opposition to the miner’s strike, which finally came in 1984-85. Walker did it as well.
One south Wales son of a former miner really pissed everyone off by sitting on the fence throughout the strike:

Dr Dafydd Alun Jones

This man won’t have helped either:
  • Welsh people by religion
Leo Abse, Labour MP, Pontypool then Torfaen, 1958-87. Abse was a crooked lawyer who paid off people who had been sexually assaulted by Lord Tonypandy and if that didn’t work, Abse threatened to fit them up and have them imprisoned. It was Abse who was responsible for the Children Act 1975, which sent hundreds of young people into the arms of Dafydd and the paedophile gang. In 1984 Lord Tonypandy was hospitalised with the effects of an STI. Abse organised the cover story and fed it to the media.
After Walker organised the crushing of the miners, he became Secretary of State for Wales, in which role he directly colluded with the crimes of Dafydd and the paedophiles.
Two policemen arresting a miner at Orgreave
I note that Walker was Minister of MAFF, 1979-83. Mary Wynch was unlawfully arrested and imprisoned by Dafydd in 1979. Immediately prior to that, Mary worked as a secretary in the dysfunctional Dept of Agriculture in UCNW. I don’t know what Mary found out what going on in that Dept, but something was going on that brought the wrath of the paedophile gang down upon her head. The President of UCNW, 1947-82, was Lloyd Tyrell-Kenyon, the 5th Baron Kenyon. Lord Kenyon was a land owner and his obituary claimed that he had done much to improve agriculture and health in north Wales. Lord Kenyon’s son Thomas was known to be sexually abusing at least one boy in care in north Wales. Thomas was never charged, although one of his conquests was sent to a detention centre after Thomas made a complaint of theft against him. Among other things, Lord Kenyon was: the most senior Freemason in north Wales, Chairman of Clwyd Health Authority, a member of the North Wales Police Authority, a magistrate and a Flintshire Councillor. He occupied numerous other public positions as well. Thomas died of an AIDS related illness in 1993. For further details see ‘A Bit More Paleontology’.
In that era, Agricultural Colleges and University Dept’s of Agriculture had a close relationship with the MAFF, because of the farming subsidy system, the role of the Gov’t organisation ADAS and legislation pertaining to  agriculture.
By the early 1980s, Richard Howarth, one of the members of staff in the Dept of Agriculture at UCNW, was an adviser to Thatch.
As for Ian Prestt’s other boss at the Dept of the Environment, Geoffrey Rippon, he played a role in the wrongful arrest and imprisonment of Mary Wynch. Mary circulated around the system run by the corrupt British state that she was still in the clutches of Dafydd in 1979. However, Mary was originally arrested in Oct 1977, when Jim Callaghan was PM, when Merlyn Rees was Home Secretary and when paedophiles’ friend and the man who was so closely involved with MIND for so many years, Lord David Ennals, was Secretary of State for the DHSS (see post ‘MIND Are Out For Mental Health – Never For Themselves Of Course’). David’s brother Martin led Amnesty for years and his son Sir Paul Ennals is involved with charidees, ‘safeguarding’ in Haringey and Tyneside and is the former Chief Exec of the National Children’s Bureau.
  • Strange but true

Mary was committed to prison and then released into the ‘care’ of Dr Dafydd Alun Jones at the North Wales Hospital by one James Blackett-Ord, who enjoyed the title of ‘His Honour the Vice-Chancellor of the County of Palatine of Lancaster’. James Blackett-Ord was actually a circuit judge. However his glorious title conferred upon him another role- to exercise general supervision over the conduct of the Chancery Division business in the north of England. The Chancery Division is a Division of the High Court of England and Wales and deals with business law, trust law, probate law, insolvency and land law in relation to issues of equity. So in Mary’s case, Blackett-Ord was effectively judging on a case that it was his role to oversee. Conflict of interest anyone? It gets much worse. The Vice-Chancellor of the County of Palatine of Lancaster is appointed by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster after consultation with the Lord Chancellor. The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster is a Ministerial Office of Government appointed by the Queen on the advice of, or by, the Prime Minister. Mary’s mother’s estate – the original source of the dispute – was administered by the Public Trustee (one of Mary’s later legal actions was against the Public Trustee). The Public Trustee is appointed by the Lord Chancellor – as well as Blackett-Ord! There was nothing impartial about this judge. But I haven’t finished. The Lord Chancellor was also in charge of the later investigation into Mary’s case in 1993 and 1995.

The Lord Chancellor when Mary was unlawfully arrested and imprisoned was Lord Elwyn-Jones, a mate of Sir Ronnie Waterhouse. The Windbag subsequently appointed Lord Elwyn-Jones as Shadow Lord Chancellor.

The Lord Chancellor when Mary’s case was ‘investigated’ was Lord Mackay of Clashfern.

Are we surprised that Mary was ruined?

After Blackett-Ord’s time as the Vice-Chancellor of the County of Palatine of Lancaster ended in 1987 (he is described as ‘stepping down’), from then on the office was held by a High Court judge of the Chancery Division. Was this perchance related to the shit that hit the fan over Mary’s case? Blackett-Ord died a few years ago and his obituaries described him as a ‘churchman’ and a ‘landowner’ from Northumberland – they also remarked on how much he enjoyed being the Vice-Chancellor of the County of Palatine of Lancaster. They do not explain why he completely shafted a respectable middle aged woman from north Wales who had been swindled by some local solicitors by having her arrested and then handed her over to man – who’s mistress was facilitating a paedophile ring – to be illegally banged up in an asylum for a year.

Blackett-Ord was appointed in 1972 – the year of Mary’s mother’s death and the original dispute. When Blackett-Ord was appointed, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster was either Geoffrey Rippon or John Davies and the Lord Chancellor was Lord Hailsham, Quintin Hogg.

Walker and Rippon’s loyal lackey Ian Prestt became Deputy Head of the Nature Conservancy Council, 1974-75. In 1975, Prestt received an unexpected telephone call in his office at the NCC inviting him to dine. His hosts were the Chairman of the Council and Committees, four in all, of the RSPB. Eschewing head-hunters, they had decided that Prestt must be their man. He was Director General, 1975-91 and then President, 1991-95, of the RSPB.

The man who gave Ian Prestt his big break, Edward Max Nicholson, was President of the RSPB, 1980-85.

Max Nicholson was a naturalist and ornithologist who was educated at Sedburgh School and then Hertford College, Oxford. Nicholson was a founder member of the Oxford University Exploration Club.

In 1932 the British Trust for Ornithology was established and Nicholson was the first Treasurer and later Chairman (1947–1949). In 1947–1948, with the then Director General of the UN’s scientific and education organisation UNESCO, Julian Huxley, Nicholson was involved in forming the International Union for the Protection of Nature, now the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Some members of Julian Huxley’s extended family and associates were friends with Bertrand Russell and the Welsh Bloomsbury set who used to spend their summers at Croesor in north Wales and who knew about Dafydd, Gwynne and their wrongdoing (see post ‘The Village’).

In 1949 Max Nicholson oversaw Part 3 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949, which established the Nature Conservancy (later the Nature Conservancy Council). Nicholson was Director General of the Nature Conservancy, 1952-66. During his leadership, the Conservancy established itself as a research and management body which promoted ecology as having broad relevance and application to land use decision-making and management. Which will be why the weak botanists and zoologists didn’t dare upset him and why the tougher ones were able to thrash out dodgy deals with him.

In 1961 Nicholson, together with Sir Peter Scott (see post ‘He Got On His Bike And Looked For Work’) and others, formed the group that created the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) (now the World Wide Fund for Nature), with which Carlo’s dad was famously involved for years while he blasted various species to death with a shotgun. It was Max Nicholson who ‘was instrumental in directing the Duke of Edinburgh towards conservation. The Duke’s involvement with the World Wildlife Fund enabled him to travel the world, virtually as a head of state, allowing him to make valuable contributions without apparently straying into the fray of politics, since, as Nicholson enjoyed pointing out, the politicians of the early 1960s had little conception of environmental issues’.

So Max made friends with Lilibet’s husband and ensured that Phil the Greek got a few freebies under the guise of doing something useful.

Nicholson was also a founder of the International Institute for Environment and Development and in 1966 he set up and headed environmental firm Land Use Consultants, (LUC), remaining with them until 1989.

In 1976 Nicholson was an instrumental part of the setting up the Trust for Urban Ecology. In 1978 Nicholson was instrumental in founding the ENDS Report, a highly influential journal for environmental policy specialists. Nicholson helped set up the New Renaissance Group and was a Trustee of Earthwatch Europe.

Nicholson’s 1931 essay A National Plan for Britain led to the formation of the think tank Political and Economic Planning, now the Policy Studies Institute.

Max Nicholson joined the civil service in 1940 and during WWII he worked for the Ministry of Shipping, then the Ministry of War Transport and was with Churchill at the post-war peace conferences at Yalta and Potsdam. Nicholson was Private Secretary to Mandy’s granddad, Herbert Morrison, the Deputy PM, 1945-52. During those years, Herbert doubled up as Lord President of the Council – so he would have been the visitor for the University of Wales…

You kept that quiet Mandy! Here he is, desperately trying to make the Windbag electable:

Leader of the Opposition Neil Kinnock talks to Peter Mandelson the Labour Party's director of communications at the Labour Party Conference in...

Max Nicholson also Chaired the Committee for the 1951 Festival of Britain. During the war years he was in charge of organising shipping operations and convoys across the Atlantic. Max was involved in the planning of ‘Operation Overlord’, the invasion of Europe. For his services he was awarded the CVO and CB. So Max was a birder who worked for the security services then.

Max married Mary Crawford in 1932 and they had two children, Piers and Tom. The marriage was dissolved in 1964. Nicholson then married Marie Mauerhofer (known as Toni) in 1965; they had one child, a son, David.

Max Nicholson seemed to have believed that he should rightly have been President of the World. He wrote a number of publications regarding how the planet should be organised and run and when the Callaghan Gov’t showed no particular interest in celebrating the Queen’s first 25 years on the throne in 1977, Nicholson got together with Charles Wintour, then Editor of the London Evening Standard, and Illtyd Harrington, then the Deputy Leader of the GLC, to promote the celebration of the Silver Jubilee.

Illtyd Harrington knew about Dafydd and the trafficking gang. Illtyd was an ally of Ken Livingstone and served as Deputy Leader of the GLC, 1981–84 and then as Chairman, 1984–85.

Harrington was born in Merthyr Tydfil. His father was an atheist and Communist, who fought against the Fascists in the Spanish Civil War and mother, known as Sally, was also an anti-fascist. Harrington was educated at the Roman Catholic Dowlais School before going to Trinity University College, Carmarthen (now part of University of Wales Trinity St David). Illtyd became a friend of Dylan Thomas while he was there.

Harrington gained employment in Brixton, before becoming a geography teacher at Kennington Secondary school. Then he moved on to become Head of English at Daneford School in Bethnal Green. Illtyd’s friends in the East End included the Krays.

Harrington was openly gay and lived for fifty years with his partner, Christopher ‘Chris’ Downes, who worked as a theatrical dresser for Laurence Olivier and Maggie Smith. Downes became a Board Director of the National Theatre on the South Bank. Both men were active members of the Board of Trustees of the National Youth Theatre. They shared a house in London and later in Brighton, where they entertained the gliterati. Both were heavily involved as writers and editors of The Camden New Journal and West End Extra. Downes died in 2003.

Harrington’s nephew is actor Richard Harrington.

Harrington’s political career started with election to the Borough Council in Paddington in 1959 and in 1964, he moved up to the Westminster City Council, where he was leader 1972-4 and the GLC. He represented Brent South in 1973 on the GLC, having been rejected as a potential Parliamentary candidate for Merthyr. He was also Chairman of the GLC’s Policy and Resources Committee. During the period he was also Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. Illtyd was a member of Wilson’s kitchen cabinet when Labour returned to power in 1974.

Illtyd’s wiki entry tells us that ‘It was promulgated that he might be offered a peerage, but both MI5 and MI6 were investigating the Cabinet for suspected incidents of Soviet espionage and he was refused’. Well someone with a sense of humour has written that. The Lords is full of people with links to espionage activities but as long as they concealed Dafydd and the paedophiles, they were in. Illtyd concealed Dafydd and the paedophiles as well, so if he was refused a peerage there must have been some other reason.

In 1980, after the leader of the GLC, Sir Reg Goodwin, retired Harrington became Deputy to Andrew McIntosh. The flood of hard left councillors elected in 1981 staged a coup and ousted McIntosh in favour of Red Ken. Ken told Harrington ‘Of course I am not going to oust you as Deputy Leader, you are the acceptable face of extremism’.

Illtyd became an adviser to Red Ken when Ken became Mayor in 2001.

Later in life, Illtyd was a regular contributor to Camden New Journal.

Illtyd Harrington (left) and Andrew McIntosh celebrate Labour’s victory over the Conservatives in the 1981 GLC elections. If Illtyd and his mates hadn’t have colluded with Dafydd and the traffickers, they might have been celebrating a General Election win over Thatcher.

If any of Illtyd’s mates who are still alive – John McDonnell perhaps? – would like to enlighten me, I’d be keen to know whether Illtyd and his crew were in any way related to the unpleasant things that happened to me and my friends when we lived on his manor (see post ‘The Turn Of The Screw’).
Max Nicholson saw the Silver Jubilee as an opportunity to lift the celebrations into ‘the realm of inspiration and guidance for the future’. He developed a document called ‘The Seven Thrusts’ in which he declared he was not content to leave ‘a haphazard legacy of scattered unrelated Jubilee halls, gardens, fountains, seats and suchlike’ but intended to initiate an overall plan for ongoing projects in partnership with local authorities and voluntary bodies.

The first of Max’s thrusts was the Jubilee Walkway, which aimed to knit London more closely together, and in particular to lure the walker from Leicester Square across Lambeth Bridge and on to the South Bank.

Max’s second thrust was to knit north London together by the fuller use of Regent’s Canal and the Grand Union Canal. The other thrusts involved the cleaning up and development of the Covent Garden area, improvement schemes overseen by the Civic Trust to develop a London-wide heritage and amenity programme, an extensive tree-planting programme and the development of ‘meanwhile’ use of derelict land, which included the creation of an urban farm at Newham. Nicholson also masterminded the Clean Up London Campaign.

Max ‘was against the Establishment’, although a ‘dedicated monarchist’, and predicted that the monarchy would survive the 21st century, because ‘any sensible person would realise that the system was patently more honourable than a presidency of ambitious and self-serving politicians’.

The nature loving anarchist who was Max spent most of his time in Chelsea, in the home he had bought when he was still quite young.

In 1982 Max enjoyed a proud moment when he accepted the Gold Medal for the World Wildlife Fund from the Duke of Edinburgh, the man who’s work with the WWF was of course as result of the efforts of Max.

Before Anne Vernon was killed, she used to talk about the RSPB as not being an organisation for anyone who was genuinely interested in birding. She maintained that it was run by grandiose people with Royal connections. I think I might know who she was talking about.

Magnus Magnusson was President of the RSPB, 1985-90. Magnus went to Jesus College, Oxford, which educated quite a few paedophiles’ friends because it is a college with Welsh connections. Magnusson was a journalist and before he found his true home pompousing on ‘Mastermind’, he used to present a lot of those TV programmes in the 1970s which investigated ghosts, past lives and other such matters. I watched a programme in which Magnus swore blind that the people whom he was interviewing were presenting evidence that they’d lived before. As is customary, Magnus’s guests had all experienced quite eventful previous lives, one of them had even been someone who had been part of the massacre of the Jews in York in 1190. No-one had just worked on a small-holding and done the washing-up for their entire lives.

  • Strange but true

Magnus also wrote for the ‘New Statesman’, as did many paedophiles’ friends and it was through the small ads in the ‘New Statesman’ that Brown and I encountered some of the mad people who caused us grief whom I now know were presents from the security services.

Magnus was the founder Chairman of Scottish Natural Heritage upon its inception in 1992. He was Lord Rector of Edinburgh University, 1975-78 and later in 2002 Magnus became Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University.

Magnus’s daughter Sally and his son Jon work in the media.

None of the Magnussons ever blew the whistle on Jimmy Savile. Sally Magnusson has presented ‘Songs of Praise’. As did Aled Jones, the 1980s school boy singing sensation who lived at Llandegfan and was a neighbour of all those Top Doctors and staff at UCNW who were desperately in need of a distraction just when Aled became a superstar overnight because Alison Taylor, Mary Wynch and I would not shut up about the crimes of the Top Docs. Aled went to school with the children of D.G.E. Wood. Aled also went to school with at least five kids whom I know were being abused by those we know and love, but Aled’s school didn’t give a stuff about them and neither did anyone else.

More recently, Aled has presented ‘Cash In The Attic’.

Walking In The Air-The Snowman by BeautyAndStrength on ...

Jesus Christ, he’s grabbed a little boy in his pyjamas, the Abominable Snowman must be working for Gwynedd Social Services.

Lord Derek Barber, a civil servant and agriculturalist, was President of the RSPB, 1990-91. Barber was educated at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester and served in WWII. He farmed in Gloucestershire before serving in various posts at the MAFF, 1946-72. After that, Barber took various advisory roles on countryside and agricultural matters, including to the Gov’t and BBC. Derek Barber will have been networked into the landowning paedophiles’ friends, such as Lord Kenyon and the Duke of Westminster.

Barber was also President of the Gloucestershire Naturalists’ Society; President of the Royal Agricultural Society of England; President of the British Pig Association; and a Vice-President of the Nature in Art Trust.

Barber picked up his peerage in Aug 1992, four months after the five witnesses to the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal were killed by the firebomb in Brighton (see post ‘The Silence Of The Welsh Lambs’).

Barber sat as a crossbencher in the Lords.

The CEO of the RSPB, 1991-98, was Barbara Young aka Baroness Young of Old Scone. The Baroness of Old Scone is one of the breed of Labour peers who just go through life clocking up public appointments, anything will do, they’re not fussy, but the appointments do of course always include a few which involve keeping the lid on the barrel of crap which is the NHS.

Lady Old Scone is currently Chair of the Woodland Trust. She was the Chief Exec of Diabetes UK, 2010-15 and before that she was involved in the establishment of the CQC, Chairing that organisation between 2008-10. Lady Old Scone was Chief Exec of the Environment Agency, 2000-08 and other posts she has held include: Chair of English Nature; Vice Chairman of the BBC; Board member of AWG plc; and posts in a number of local health authorities, including Parkside Health Authority. In 2010 Barbara Young was appointed Chancellor of Cranfield University and was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2017.

One other person to whom biologists will have grovelled is Professor Peter Bridgewater, an Australian conservationist, who was Chief Scientist of the Nature Conservancy Council, 1989–90. Peter Bridgewater was also Chief Executive of the Australian Nature Conservation Agency and Director of the National Parks and Wildlife Service, 1990–97 and Secretary of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Programme and Director of its Division of Ecological Sciences 1999–03. Subsequently Bridgewater was Secretary General of the Ramsar Convention on the Protection of Wetlands of International Importance and from 2007 he has been Chairman of the UK’s statutory Joint Nature Conservation Committee. Among many international appointments, Bridgewater was Chair of the International Whaling Commission, 1995-97.

Another name from the past who knew some of what was happening in Bangor was Dr Dorian Moss. Dorian was a statistician who worked at the Institute for Terrestrial Ecology in Bangor in the 1980s. He was a member of Bangor Bird Group and knew Anne well. Anne had spent a summer working at the ITE with Dorian. After the gang killed Anne, it was Dorian’s wife who came over to help sort Anne’s things out…

There are bombs going off everywhere at the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. More patients have died unnecessarily and yet more notices have been issued by coroners with a view to ‘preventing further deaths’. Yet another damning report has been compiled re the mental health services in north Wales and Donna Ockenden, an independent investigator, appeared on camera saying that this cannot go on, the Board cannot simply continue to produce action plan after action plan after action plan, with no improvement in ‘services’.

Nothing will change. No-one in north Wales knows how to provide a mental health service, they never did know how to do that. They weren’t providing a mental health service, what they were doing was running a paedophile ring. Everyone knew it and everyone allowed it to continue. Patients’ complaints were ignored as were deaths, inspections were conducted by the paedophiles’ friends and subsequently described the traffickers as kind, compassionate and excellent. Research was faked and trumpeted as world leading by both Westminster and the Welsh Gov’t. The people at the Betsi are the very same people who ran that paedophile ring 20 yrs ago.

There is no mental health service in north Wales and very little NHS per se. The reason why people are finally squealing is that the situation is now so bad that better off people are dying as well. When it was just the dispossessed nobody minded. Now no-one is safe. It’s what happens when a cartel of Top Doctors are allowed to kill people who dare complain.

Everyone needs to stop the endless reports and reviews, the meaningless historical enquiries led by the paedophiles’ friends which are going to bring ‘closure’, the vacuous #Me Tooing and the promises to give Wales a ‘feminist Gov’t’ and they need to arrest those doctors who colluded with each other to refuse all care and treatment to anyone who complained. They also need to arrest the Health Ministers who were told repeatedly what those doctors were doing yet refused to act – Jane Hutt, Brian Gibbons, Edwina Hart, Lesley Griffiths and Mark Drakeford. People died. It was quite deliberate.

One person who might like to give evidence is Dr Gruff Penrhyn Jones, formerly of Waunfawr Surgery. Gruff was much more pleasant than his dysfunctional colleagues, but he knew what they were doing. For a period of years, Gruff knew that I was unlawfully refused all treatment by every single doctor in north Wales. There is at least one other patient living in Gwynedd who was in exactly the same position. Gruff looked on but did not act. But then no-one did. Gruff’s dad was a Top Doctor in north Wales and Gruff knew about Dafydd and the paedophiles. Gruff spent part of his career in Sweden and his son is in the Swedish police force. The last that I heard was that Gruff had left the UK, I think to live in Sweden. Gruff is not the only witness who emigrated, Dr Richard Tranter of the Hergest Unit and a number of his colleagues did as well.

The Top Docs watched an international paedophile ring in operation for years, said nothing and when Operation Pallial was launched they emigrated. Of course there is no mental health service in north Wales, how could there possibly be?

A Local Boy Made Good?

My post ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’ detailed the enormous quantity of money – some of it via a Coutts cheque – that fell into the hands of some people in Somerset in the late 1980s/1990s who knew what was happening to me at the hands of Dafydd and the trafficking gang. I have explained that the constituency MP of the Somerset contingent was Tom King, who was personally known to one of them. King was Secretary of State for Employment, Oct 1983-Sept 1985, overseeing his Minister for State, June 1983-Sept 1985, Sir Peter Morrison, who was a member of the paedophile gang who had opened fire on me, Brown and some of our friends. In Sept 1985, Thatch appointed King Secretary of State for N Ireland, a post that King retained until July 1989, when King was made Secretary of State for Defence.

It was when King was N Ireland Secretary that he concealed the horrors of the Kincora Boys’ Home, the associated serious crime and national security risks. The high society paedophiles using Kincora had links to Dafydd’s gang in north Wales and to the gang in south London which was facilitated by St George’s Hospital Medical School, Springfield Hospital and Wandsworth Social Services.

Previous posts have mentioned that some of the Somerset contingent also knew another of Thatcher’s Cabinet Ministers, John Biffen. John Biffen grew up on a farm near Combwich, about three miles away from where I lived before I left Somerset for university and he went to the village school at Combwich with one of the Somerset contingent. Biffen’s secondary school was Dr Morgan’s in Bridgwater, Biffen was there at the same time as my father.

I was always told that Biffen was a clever swotty kid who was horrifically bullied at school which didn’t do much for what would now be called his mental health. He won a scholarship to Jesus College, Cambridge from Dr Morgan’s, left Somerset and didn’t have any more contact with those who had made his life so miserable. However, Biffen did remain close to his mum and dad who carried on living at Combwich until I think they died. There were no doubt other people of whom Biffen had happier memories in Somerset with whom he did keep contact. His mum and dad knew many of the local farming families who knew me when I was a teenager.

After Cambridge, Biffen worked for Tube Investments Ltd and for a short time at the Economist Intelligence Unit.

In 1961 Biffen was elected as the Tory MP for Oswestry, later renamed Shropshire North. He succeeded David Ormsby-Gore aka Lord Harlech, who been appointed US ambassador. David Ormsby-Gore was US ambassador when JFK was assassinated and many of Ormsby-Gore’s family and descendants subsequently led difficult lives which ended in violent deaths. The family seat is in Oswestry but the Ormsby-Gores also own an estate in Gwynedd. The difficulties that the Ormsby-Gores have encountered in recent decades suggest to me that they were targeted by the paedophiles’ friends. See post ’95 Glorious Years!’ for further details.

Biffen was right wing and in the 1960s was a member of the Mont Pelerin Society, one of the monetarist think tanks on which Thatch based her policies. Unlike Thatch, Biffen was clever enough to actually understand the theories which were espoused. Biffen was a friend and disciple of Enoch Powell, but Biffen didn’t alienate people in the way that Powell did and was seen as the respectable embodiment of Powell’s ideas.

Before Thatch became PM, Biffen was in her Shadow Cabinet, along with Tom King and Michael Heseltine, who’s role in helping another person in Somerset who knew some of what was going on in north Wales was detailed in my post ‘Those Who Are Ready To Serve’.

Biffen was one of those who enthusiastically backed Thatch for Tory leader in 1975. Another keen supporter of Thatch in that leadership election was Sir Peter Morrison.

Biffen was only one of three of Thatcher’s Cabinet Ministers who had not been part of Heath’s Gov’t. The other two were Nicholas Edwards, whom Thatch appointed Welsh Secretary (see posts ‘The Cradle Of Filth’, ‘Corruption Bay’ and ‘Old Nick Bites The Dust’)  and Angus Maude. Thatch really liked John Biffen, Hugo Young’s book ‘One Of Us’ maintained that she viewed him as her guru.

As soon as Thatch became PM, Biffen was brought into the leadership circle out of nowhere. His first post in Thatcher’s Gov’t was as Chief Secretary to the Treasury. Hugo Young tells us that Thatch put Biffen in the Treasury to act as a restraining influence in the face of any dangerous tendencies towards Keynes’s theories that her Chancellor Geoffrey Howe might show. Young describes Biffen as being ‘the first authentic Thatcher political creation’. When Biffen was in the Treasury, Sir Peter Morrison was Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury.  Geoffrey Howe had been concealing the crimes of Dafydd and the paedophiles for years – Howe had worked as a barrister on the corrupt Chester and Wales Circuit. Geoffrey Howe was a longstanding friend of Sir Ronnie Waterhouse, they had first met at Cambridge.

In 1981, Thatch made Biffen Secretary of State for Trade and he remained there until April 1982, when Thatch appointed him Leader of the House and Lord President of the Council. At the time, George Thomas was Speaker and busied himself molesting boys.

The role of Lord President of the Council brought with it the role of visitor to UCNW (Bangor University). When Biffen was given that position, I was a student at UNCW. I hadn’t yet encountered the trafficking gang – that didn’t happen until early in 1983 – but Brown and I had already written to Sir Keith Joseph, the Secretary of State for Education, about student finance and received quite unpleasant replies. Our letters were written from our respective universities, but Joseph made mention of the fact that both of our ‘home addresses’ were near Bridgwater. He also seemed to know that Brown and I were friends, yet we had written to him separately, neither of us mentioning the other one. Joseph sent us a joint letter in reply.

I now know that UCNW was bugged by the security services at that time – I imagine because of the Irish Republican activity in the Students’ Union and the Welsh language activism in UCNW (see post ‘Just A Language Divide?’) and I have been told that I was filmed when I volunteered at the worrying SU creche at UCNW in early 1982 (see posts ‘Criminals Are Getting Away With It’ and ‘He Got On His Bike And Looked For Work’). So Thatcher’s Cabinet knew that the daughter of people personally known to two of her Cabinet ministers was at UCNW, was of a leftie inclination and had begun observing a few things that should not have been happening but which were happening because of UCNW’s role in facilitating the trafficking ring of which Peter Morrison was a member.

In the autumn of 1982 I lodged in a house in Port Dinowic with a man who had grown up in care and had been the victim of Dafydd and the paedophile gang. I have given information that demonstrates that I was already under surveillance by the security services by then. The paedophile gang had also clocked me because they wondered who the English girl living in their victim’s house was. That led to the security services placing Brown under surveillance. Brown was at Aston University in Birmingham, which was run by Thatcher’s mate Sir Freddie Crawford, a Freemason who was part of the corruption of civic life in Birmingham. It was in early 1983 that Brown received the first murder threat from the man who later tried to fracture his skull.

It was in early 1983 when ‘T’ moved into our shared house on Anglesey and I and my house mates witnessed the complete dereliction of their duty of care on the part of UCNW and the Manpower Services Commission towards a 17 yr old girl who could not cope with living independently (see post ‘He Got On His Bike And Looked For Work’).

John Biffen remained Lord President of the Council until June 1983. By which time I was in the clutches of Dr D.G.E. Wood, who was facilitating the trafficking gang.

Biffen became Lord Privy Seal in June 1983 and remained in that position, as well as Leader of the House, until June 1987. It was in June 1987 that Dafydd and the paedophiles, in collaboration with the Mental Health Act Commission and the Home Office – which was led by Douglas Hurd at the time – planned their co-ordinated attempt at fitting me up and imprisoning me for a serious crime, a plan which fell apart in July 1987 because of the refusal of a nursing officer and a police sergeant to not tell as many lies as were required (see posts ‘Workers’ Play Time’, ‘Security, Security’ and ‘He Got On His Bike And Looked For Work’).

Willie Whitelaw succeeded Biffen as Lord President of the Council in June 1983. Whitelaw was a paedophiles’ friend of many years standing and had protected Dafydd and the gang for decades, including of course by colluding with their criminality when Willie Whitelaw was busy giving young thugs a Short Sharp Shock in his capacity as Home Secretary, 1979-83. Well you can’t get much more of a shock than being gang raped in a children’s home, framed and incarcerated in Risley Remand Centre where you’re beaten up by the screws and if you’re not found hanging ‘by suicide’ in Risley’s ‘hospital wing’ (see post ‘Include Me Out’), then unlawfully transported to the North Wales Hospital Denbigh where you are never seen again.

Here is a particularly low form of life on earth:

The Viscount Whitelaw
William Whitelaw in 1963.jpg

In 1983, after his highly successful stint as Home Secretary, Thatch gave Willie an hereditary peerage. Very few of those were given out, although another lucky recipient was Thatcher’s friend George Thomas, again in 1983:

Willie’s hereditary peerage died out because he only had daughters, whereas George Thomas’s died out because, being a paedophile who was only interested in young boys, he didn’t have any sons either. So one wonders why either of them actually wanted an hereditary peerage.

In 1981, whilst Trade Secretary, Biffen allowed Murdoch to buy ‘The Times’ without reference to the Monopolies Commission. According to Woodrow Wyatt, who helped persuade Thatcher to ensure this, the Commission ‘almost certainly would have blocked it.’

As Leader of the House, Biffen used the guillotine to cut short debate on the  European Communities (Amendment) Act 1986. The paedophile gang which Biffen concealed preferred to use firebombs to achieve their aims (see post ‘The Silence Of The Welsh Lambs’).

Biffen’s image as an economic dry mellowed during his time in Gov’t and he made blunt public calls for greater moderation in Gov’t policy. In 1980 Biffen warned the country to prepare for ‘three years of unparalleled austerity’. In 1981 Biffen gave a speech to a fringe meeting at that year’s Conservative Party Conference in which he claimed that far from cutting public spending, the Gov’t had increased it by two per cent since 1979 and that the Gov’t was part of an all-party consensus in favour of the welfare state and public spending: ‘We are all social democrats now’, Biffen concluded in his speech.

Biffen’s comments regarding public spending were of course correct. Despite all the rhetoric, Thatcher’s Gov’t did not cut public spending. The austerity discourse was used to promote other agendas and to reconfigure the economy. Britain was the neoliberal experiment in Europe.

On 9 Feb 1986 Biffen claimed that Toryism was ‘not a raucous political faction’ and after the Conservative Party’s losses in the 1986 local government elections and poor performances in the two parliamentary by-elections held simultaneously, Biffen was interviewed on ‘Weekend World’ by Brian Walden on 11 May as the Gov’ts spokesman. He called the results ‘Black Thursday’, said the Conservatives needed to fight the next general election on a ‘balanced ticket’ and that ‘no-one seriously supposes that the Prime Minister would be Prime Minister throughout the entire period of the next Parliament’. This alienated him from Thatcher and resulted in his being dropped from the Cabinet after the 1987 General Election. This was no surprise, in that Thatcher’s Press Secretary Bernard Ingham had already famously called Biffen a ‘semi-detached’ member of the Cabinet. Thatcher in her memoirs described Biffen’s desire for a balanced ticket as ‘foolish’ and ‘a recipe for paralysis.’ In the month after his sacking, Biffen criticised Thatcher’s Gov’t as a ‘Stalinist regime’.

In June 1997 Biffen was given a peerage. By which time the Waterhouse Inquiry was taking evidence from the victims of Dafydd and the gang. The accounts of the most horrific abuses led Dafydd’s targets to be denounced as liars who were only seeking financial compensation.

Biffen remained unmarried until he was 48 yrs old, when he married Sarah Wood. He had one stepson, Nicholas Wood, a correspondent with the ‘New York Times’ and ‘International Herald Tribune’, as well as a stepdaughter, Lucy.

John Biffen was an anxious man who suffered from a number of health problems, including severe depression, for which he was treated by Top Doctors. So as was so often the case, this leading light in a Cabinet of absolute bastards who were prepared to see people die rather than admit to what Morrison and others were doing, had major vulnerabilities himself. No wonder John Biffen couldn’t stand up to a bunch of gangsters being facilitated by the Top Doctors. Biffen died in 2007, after suffering from kidney failure for many years.

Brian Walden noted that Biffen was the ‘most honest’ politician that he had interviewed. Biffen must have fessed up to Walden about the Westminster Paedophile Ring then and the murder of the house mate of the daughter of someone with whom he went to school.

Biffen’s obituary in ‘The Guardian’ stated that Biffen ‘was one of the cleverest politicians of his generation and one of the nicest. He was probably the best leader of the house (1982-87) in living memory during the most contentious and abrasive years of Margaret Thatcher. He was increasingly in temperamental and intellectual disagreement with her, but he managed to get Thatcherism’s business done with a humour that half-consoled an opposition which grew very fond of him. When he, most famously, opposed Thatcher’s plans for a poll tax, it was the fatal end to a career that he never greatly cherished…as leader of the House from 1982 to 1987, he gave Thatcher outstanding service and provided the government with an urgently needed human face. He once described himself in that office as “an unashamed boss’s nark”, but it is doubtful if she thought of him in such a light’.

Oh I’m sure that Thatch knew that she was dealing with a complete jelly, even if he was a very much more intelligent jelly than the other jellies with whom she surrounded herself.

‘Bunch of murderous sex traffickers? Anything you say and would you like me to take a large Coutts cheque down to Biffen’s parents’ neighbours in Somerset?’

‘The Guardian’ also observed that Biffen ‘was cooler about repeated tax cuts than might have been expected, and found himself in alliance with Peter Walker (minister of agriculture 1979-83 and energy secretary 1983-87) in resisting the public spending axe.’

Walker was Secretary of State for Wales, 1987-90, where he did of course provide Dafydd and the paedophile gang with outstanding service (see post ‘The Cradle Of Filth’). It was while Walker was Welsh Secretary that those who lived down the road from Biffen’s parents found themselves bumping into members of the Oxford Dangerous Sports Club, who then gave them lots of money (see post ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’).

Walker had been Minister for Agriculture when Dafydd unlawfully incarcerated Mary Wynch. Before Dafydd had her arrested and imprisoned, Mary had been working as a secretary in the Agriculture Dept at UCNW, which was run by Dafydd’s mates. Despite the laughably low academic standards in the Agri Dept, one of their staff, Richard Howarth, found himself as an advisor to Thatch. Howarth’s star dropped very suddenly out of the sky after Peter Morrison was found dead in 1995.

‘The Guardian’ believed that Biffen ‘had, indeed, considerable sympathy for working people, appropriate to a Baldwinian Tory. Indeed, as he grew older, he seemed at times to have more in common with middle-of-the-road Labour, at least in terms of ethics, than with the party whose radical rightwing roots he had watered. He had, interestingly, a high and affectionate regard for Neil Kinnock…’

Well as both Biffen and the Windbag were sitting in the corner wetting themselves in the face of the serious organised crime which had colonised the whole of Wales it is hardly surprising that they found so much in common.

My father was a high Tory who used to wonder why John Biffen went dangerously red. Gosh, if only I had known it was because Biffen was colluding with a bunch of paedophiles who were targeting Brown and me. Tom King knew that though. John Biffen is dead, but dear old Tom is still alive!

Baron King of Money Changing Hands In Return For Silence: as you gained your Commons seat partly on the back of the hard work that my grandpa – my HONEST grandpa who took the piss out of the Freemasons and told you that Edward Du Cann was a crook – put in on behalf of the Tories in Bridgwater, would you like to tell us all that you know, before you and the Lady Jane of One Sausage Roll To Last All Evening shuffle off this mortal coil?

When we were witnessing the extraordinary events involving ‘T’, King was Secretary of State for the Environment. So he will have had domain over many of the things which were central to the interests of the UCNW Depts of Zoology (who employed T) and Plant Biology (who ignored our pleas for help in the face of what she was doing).

I will do a bit more digging with regard to King’s responsibilities and decisions while he was in the Dept for the Environment and indeed why Tom King, who knew bugger all about the environment, was appointed to that post. King was appointed on Jan 6 1983. T moved into our house just weeks later.

I was told a few days ago that T was yet another gift to me and my friends from the security services, along with Leslie Gore, Naomi Grunfeld, Diane Foxhills, Donna Maria Morgan and Denise Baker-MacClearns (see previous posts), but I didn’t believe it. Looks like that once more, things were worse than I presumed.

Up until now I had believed that we encountered T, a crazy teenager who ran us ragged, stole from us and exhausted us just when we really didn’t need it, because we had a bit of bad luck. It seems not. So I won’t bother to protect her identity any longer. Patricia Margaret Edwards aka Trishles, you owe me your rent from many, many years ago. And the clothes of mine which you nicked. The Zoology Dept owes our house mate an apology for threatening to throw him out of the Dept because of Trishles’s crimes and Dr Adrian Bell is looking like a bigger and bigger dipstick with each day that passes. I told him about the chaos surrounding Trishles and aas ever my concerns were ignored. D.G.E. Wood knew about Trishles as well. When Adrian Bell seemed to think that it was fine that we were being robbed blind by a member of UCNW staff – Bell’s wife Alison was the rep on the UCNW Senate for the technical staff and Trishles was a trainee technician – I asked Wood for help. I didn’t realise that Wood was facilitating a sex trafficking gang, so it is hardly surprising that help or advice was not forthcoming.

So even in the wake of the security service’s own agent showing up the inadequacy of UCNW and the MSC, the paedophiles’ friends weren’t stopped. A house of students was just bled dry and subjected to much aggro.

‘We didn’t know.’

Oh for God’s sake MI5, what did you think that you were doing? Can I have all the money that you have screwed out of me over the last 30 yrs please? Only please don’t pay me with a Coutts cheque, I don’t want to be associated with them.

John Biffen might have believed that Bernard Ingham was ‘the sewer not the sewage’, but I conclude that everyone involved was a complete turd.

I note that Biffen was sacked by Thatch in the post-election reshuffle of June 1987. Well he had served his purpose, as had his friend, the foolish old Windbag. They had all kept schtum about Dafydd and the paedophiles in the hope that it would win them the election. Thatch was the one who benefited.

Thatch won the election on 11 June 1987. On 11 May 1987 the Lord Chief Justice Geoffrey Lane heard the appeal of Professor Oliver Brooke, the Professor of Paediatrics at St George’s Hospital Medical School, who in Dec 1986 had been imprisoned for the possession of child porn. Lane compared Brooke’s collection of child porn to a collection of cigarette cards and allowed his appeal. Brooke was released in June 1987. Brooke was a key figure in a pan-European paedophile ring.

18 Nov 1987, the King’s Cross Fire, which I missed by a few hours, having been delayed:

301 Moved Permanently

Biffen was ‘a quietly convinced high Anglican’.

The Guardian’s obituarist told us that ‘John Biffen was not temperamentally suited to leadership, dominance or bitter partisan fights…He was a very good thing and is remembered with gratitude.’

When the manager of the Hergest Unit Alun Davies refused to investigate my complaints about Dafydd, before Davies bellowed at me to ‘put up and shut up’, he told me that a lot of people thought that Dafydd was ‘a very good thing’. Well a gang of old paedophiles at Westminster did and no doubt they were very grateful to the fat idiot Alun Davies as well.

The Torygraph’s obituary of Biffen reminded us that Biffen ‘admitted possessing a “keenly developed sense of meanness”‘.

I haven’t had time to research the backgrounds of those who wrote Biffen’s obits, but they will have known about the Westminster Paedophile Ring, all the journos did.

John Biffen was at various times a director of Glynwed International, J Bibby & Sons, the Rockware Group and Barlow International. He was a Trustee of the London Clinic, 1994-02 and was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Shropshire in 1993.

Workers’ Play Time

I have mentioned in previous posts and comments that in 1993 I wrote to the UK’s most high profile radical barrister Michael Mansfield at his chambers in Tooks Court about the mental health services in north Wales. I had just been prosecuted – yet again – at the insistence of the mental health services for ‘staring at a social worker in Safeways’. I was fined £60 by Bangor Magistrates Court. The social worker concerned, Jackie Brandt, a member of the delightful Arfon Community Mental Health Team, had previously illegally detained me, refused to investigate my complaints – as had her boss Lucille Hughes – and perjured herself in an attempt to have me imprisoned. Brandt had alleged to the police that I had screamed and yelled at her in Safeways, swore at her and threatened her. She admitted under cross-examination in Court that I hadn’t done any of these things, but I had ‘looked at her’, indeed at one point ‘stared’. Brandt then started crying. No-one asked any questions about why Brandt had felt able to lie in a statement to the police, lie again in Court and only admit that she had lied when my solicitor questioned her. Instead Bangor Magistrates deemed that by looking at Brandt I had breached the Public Order Act. The Act in question had been passed by Thatcher’s Gov’t to criminalise the striking miners in the 1984 dispute but was being widely used to prosecute anyone for anything. Mansfield mentioned the abuse of this Act in his 1993 book ‘Presumed Guilty’, which is why I wrote to him.

I did receive a reply from Michael Mansfield himself – he simply wrote me a couple of lines thanking me for my letter and saying ‘it is always good to have support’. I didn’t think anymore of this at the time – I just presumed that Mansfield would be in receipt of huge quantities of mail from people having a hard time and that he’d be busy defending the Birmingham Six or something. I missed a few things at the time.

At that time Mary Wynch had just made legal history by suing Dr Dafydd Alun Jones, Risley Remand Centre and Clwyd Health Authority for wrongful arrest and false imprisonment (see post ‘The Mary Wynch Case – Details’). Mansfield will definitely have known about this case – not only because it made legal history and received widespread media coverage, but also because there’d been a TV documentary made about it ‘Who Will Listen To Mary Wynch?’ (by Elizabeth Clough, Jeremy Paxman’s partner at the time) and because Mansfield’s longstanding friend and colleague Gareth Peirce, the radical solicitor, worked – as did Paul Boateng, Imran Khan and John Wadham (who became the Director of Liberty) – in Birnberg and Co, the solicitors that represented Mary. Gareth Peirce later became a senior partner in what became Birnberg Peirce and Partners. Benedict Birnberg himself retired in 1999 – just before the publication of the Waterhouse Report. Birnberg was also co-secretary of War On Want. At the time that I wrote to Mansfield, allegations of a paedophile ring operating in Cheshire and north Wales involving public figures including politicians and civil servants had appeared in the London based media. Allegations of a cover-up reaching to the highest levels of Gov’t were being made, a police investigation had been launched but had found ‘no evidence’ of the involvement of people in high places, an independent investigation by John Jillings of the abuse of children in the care of Clwyd County Council had been ordered and Alison Taylor -a social worker from Gwynedd – had blown the whistle loudly on the abuse of children in care in north Wales only to be sacked from her job by Lucille Hughes. The year before I wrote to Mansfield, Alison had appeared in a TV documentary with former residents of children’s homes in north Wales alleging abuse of kids in care and they had named a senior police officer with the North Wales Police, Gordon Anglesea, as one of the abusers. By the time that I wrote to Mansfield, Anglesea was suing the media outlets who had named him for libel. Michael Mansfield’s partner Yvette Vanson was a TV producer – it was her colleague Tony Wardle who co-wrote ‘Presumed Guilty’ with Mansfield. They will not have missed the havoc in north Wales. Mansfield had then received a letter from someone living near Bangor supplying him with details of the most extraordinary abuse of the law by Gwynedd Social Services involving collusion by the North Wales Police, Bangor Magistrates Court and the CPS… Did his antennae really not twitch?

A few days ago, I read Michael Mansfield’s 2009 book, ‘Memoirs of a Radical Lawyer’.

Mansfield established his chambers Tooks Court in 1984 as a collective. I don’t know what was going on there, but Mansfield admits in his book that their senior clerk walked out in response to the ‘arrogance’ and ‘demands’ of the barristers at Tooks. The radical socialist barristers who were fighting for the common man…

Sadly, rather than genuinely radical barristers, Tooks was hosting some unscrupulous hypocrites of the highest order. Helena Kennedy QC worked there – the Helena who worked closely with corrupt psychiatrist Professor Nigel Eastman from St George’s Hospital Medical School. Eastman was not only concealing and colluding with wrongdoing at St George’s and Springfield Hospital (the psychiatric unit attached to St George’s), but he also colluded with those we know and love in north Wales in 1991 when he was faced with evidence of their criminal activities (see post ‘Some Very Eminent Psychiatrists From London…’). Helena also will have known about the abuse of women patients in the special hospitals, many of whom had already been abused as kids in care and as mental health patients – no, she didn’t say a word. I bet she knew about Jimmy Savile’s activities at Broadmoor as well. Please read my post ‘Eve Was Framed – As Were A Lot Of Other People’ for further details regarding St Helena.

Patricia Scotland QC worked at Tooks. Patricia Scotland was involved in the Waterhouse Inquiry. Did Patsy represent any of the kids who’d been abused whilst in care in north Wales? No. Patsy was the QC who represented the Welsh Office. The Welsh Office who ignored complaints that children were being terribly abused, the Welsh Office who were failing to carry out regular inspections of children’s homes even after staff in the homes had been convicted of sexual and physical assaults on children in their care, the Welsh Office who employed corrupt lawyer Andrew Park who advised the mental health services as to how to mount prosecutions against me and how to avoid investigating my complaints, the Welsh Office which employed the corrupt Medical Ombudsman Professor Robert Owen who – along with Professor Robert Bluglass and Dr Colin Berry – concealed the criminal activities of Dr Dafydd Alun Jones and Dr Tony Francis (Dr X). Patsy’s sterling work on behalf of the Welsh Office involved cross-examining the witnesses – the people who had been abused – so harshly that some of them became so distressed that they needed medical attention whilst others were unable to walk out of the building unaided. Details of Patsy’s glorious career as a black woman barrister who is completely dedicated to helping the unfortunate can be read in posts ‘Baroness Patricia Scotland Was On Board As Well!’, More On Baroness Patricia Scotland QC – And Her Very Sleazy Friends’ and ‘Even More About Baroness Patricia Scotland QC’.

Another alumnus of Tooks was Constance Briscoe, who like Patsy made much of being black and in possession of ovaries. After making it as far as a judge presiding over mental health and child care cases, Briscoe was imprisoned for perjury. Briscoe’s mate Vicky Pryce and Pryce’s former husband Lib Dem MP Chris Huhne were also imprisoned, but unlike Briscoe and Huhne who’s careers were finished off, dear old Vicky returned to work as a Gov’t economist after she’d served her stretch and can be heard regularly on the BBC. Vicky also wrote a misery memoir about her time in prison, from the perspective of an oppressed woman.

Vera Baird QC, another well-known radical feminist lawyer, also worked at Tooks. Years later in her capacity as Solicitor General in Gordon Brown’s Gov’t, Vera assisted Charlie Falconer in withdrawing virtually all legal aid in cases where people had had their lives wrecked by the state.

Many of the Tooks lawyers were networked to fellow lawyer Cherie Booth and when Cherie’s husband Tony Blair became PM he gave a lot of them peerages.

Friends and colleagues of Mansfield et al at Tooks included other big names among radical barristers, such as Stephen Sedley, Anthony Scrivener and Anthony Gifford.

I am the first to admit that Mansfield and some of his colleagues have done some excellent work. They have successfully helped some victims of terrible miscarriages of justice such as the Guildford Four and the Birmingham Six and I know someone who has worked with Lord Gifford fighting for prisoners on death row in Jamaica. Some of those people would be dead without Tony Gifford. But again and again, I notice that the radical barristers just do not touch cases involving people who have been abused by the state child care system or the mental health system in the UK. In fact no-one will take those cases. Birnberg and Co did fight for Mary Wynch initially – but Mary’s problems did not end when she won her case. Clwyd Health Authority et al then refused to stump up the damages, Mary ended up having to go into hiding, the property and money of which she was fleeced by Dr Dafydd Alun Jones et al was never returned to her and she was finally ruined by the Home Office under Michael Howard in 1995. At which point she was never heard of again – the few people who had fought for her and publicised her case fell silent.

I can only speculate that the problem is as this blog has detailed ie. that the corruption involving the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal and related events reaches to such a high level – including the most senior members of the judiciary – that even Mansfield and Gareth Peirce won’t touch it. Perhaps they know that their own careers will be ruined if they take those cases. Perhaps they are simply too frightened – they will know that numerous witnesses to the north Wales case were found dead after complaining or giving evidence and in the case of the five witnesses who were killed in an arson attack in 1992, even the Court returned a verdict of ‘unlawful killing’ (see post ‘The Silence Of The Welsh Lambs’). The cynic in me observes that the radical lawyers had close connections to the inner London boroughs whose Councils were running the children’s homes where paedophiles had infiltrated and that those Councils were also sending children on placement to homes in north Wales. Paul Boateng’s own wife was a social worker and Councillor in Lambeth, which had one of the biggest problems with abuse of children in care in the UK. Those boroughs also pioneered community law centres, in which some of the radical lawyers worked when they were very young – they were not going to effectively represent people who had been abused by the staff of the organisation funding the law centre.

It was easier for Michael Mansfield and Gareth Peirce to represent clients like the Price sisters who proudly admitted to blowing up part of London than to represent people who had been raped by paedophiles employed as social workers and then unlawfully imprisoned and abused again by Top Doctors employed as psychiatrists.

It is clear from Michael Mansfield’s memoir that he has encountered the results of the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal – and child abuse by the state in other regions of the UK – and the abuse of psychiatry many times. Michael Mansfield spends time talking to and listening to people who have been crapped on by the state – he believes what they say as well and is acutely aware of just what the state will do to get itself out of trouble when little people have witnessed or gained evidence of wrongdoing by people in high places. Mansfield is also sensitive and intelligent enough to know that even when he is hearing a truly bizarre story from someone disorientated, there may well be much truth in the story and it’s that which he must identify. Interestingly Mansfield learnt this as a young man by talking to psychiatric patients from Friern Barnet Hospital when he had a job emptying the bins there – he was hearing hair-raising anecdotes and he gradually started to realise that the nutters were telling the truth about a great many matters. I noticed this phenomenon myself. I heard the most extraordinary things from patients that the Top Doctors and Angels tripped over themselves to dismiss as delusions and psychotic ramblings – and I watched and I listened and I realised that a great deal of what I was being told was true.

There used to be a number of people wandering around north Wales – I say used to be, because they have now nearly all died as a result of neglect from the mental health services – who claimed to have worked as prostitutes or groupies and to have had sex with a variety of well-known people or local bigwigs. These people were universally dismissed by the people paid to care for them as being ‘difficult’, having ‘upset people’ or being ‘troublemakers’. These insults were used to justify extreme neglect and even unlawful refusal of ‘services’. The people being left to die had all lived through the paedophile years in north Wales when vulnerable people – particularly kids in care and psychiatric patients – were sexually abused and exploited and trafficked into sex work. I know that this went on, I know some of the people who were doing it and I know that at least some of the people who were named by these virtually destitute patients were indeed sexually using vulnerable people. As Jimmy Savile knew, if you want to sexually assault people and get away with it sexually assault kids in care, learning disabled people or people labelled as having mental health problems. Not only will you get away with it but if your victims dare tell anyone what you have done they will be punished all over again by whoever it is ‘looking after’ them. And the Top Doctors will assist you by pouring venom upon your victims like there is no tomorrow.

Mansfield’s book mentions that he worked on behalf of people who were in trouble with the law for drug use. He’ll have known that there were both high levels of police corruption in the drug squads and that some Top Doctors working in the field were essentially dealers, often to rich elites. No doubt Mansfield also knew about the corruption in the Home Office Drugs Branch responsible for the oversight of controlled drugs (see post ‘Little Things Hitting Each Other’). Mansfield mentions Bernie Simons, an associate of Dr Ann Dally, dealer to the stars. I haven’t been able to find out who Bernie Simons was, but from what Mansfield says he seems to have been a solicitor as well as a drugs campaigner.

Throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s, Risley Remand centre served as the personal prison of Dafydd and the paedophiles’ friends. Huge numbers of the prisoners there had passed through the north Wales children’s homes or mental health services. Mary Wynch was detained there unlawfully and I know of at least one other mental health patient in north Wales who was as well. The brutality at Risley was legendary and the suicide rate astronomical. I know three people – all mental health patients – who were in Risley in the 80s. They related accounts of hearing the screams of other prisoners at night as they were beaten up by the warders and of being assaulted by the warders themselves. One man had been left in complete darkness in his cell for a number of days after a prison officer removed the light bulb because the prisoner had complained about the bulb flickering on and off. The same man had been detained in Risley after the North Wales Drug Squad had framed he and his wife and assaulted him. Whilst he was in Risley he maintains that he was visited by an unidentified senior detective from London who tried to interrogate him about offences of which he knew nothing. The detective became angry with him, told him that there was no point questioning him because ‘you’re fucking mad’ and threw him back in his cell. This man was subsequently transferred to the ‘care’ of Dafydd in the North Wales Hospital Denbigh – where he stayed for a year. His complaints about the North Wales Police were never investigated. Another man described sharing a cell with a suicidal man who was trying to injure himself – the man whom I knew rang and rang for help but no-one answered the bell. His cell mate succeeded in killing himself and the man whom I spoke to was left alone in the cell with the corpse for some time. I was friendly with a lady who fostered a young man with mental health and drug problems. At the age of 18 he was detained in Risley – when my friend went to visit him he was visibly injured after a beating by the officers. My friend challenged the officers and was met with one of them boasting about how much he enjoyed beating the ‘little bastards’ up. There were some prisoners in Risley who were serious offenders, but there were many more who had been accused of trivial crimes but had been detained there on the orders of Dafydd and the paedophiles’ friends ‘for psychiatric assessment’. Some like Mary Wynch had not committed any crime at all.

The wrongdoing at Risley permeated levels higher than the thugs employed as prison officers. The Waterhouse Report mentions the panel having sight of a letter allegedly written by a prisoner in Risley to Lucille Hughes in support of Nefyn and June Dodd, the managers of Ty’r Felin children’s home in Bangor. The Dodds were tremendously cruel to children in their care and the kids from that home were being trafficked to London and other locations for prostitution. Even Sir Ronnie Waterhouse accepted that the letter was forged and had not been written by the prisoner – a former resident of Ty’r Felin – at all. Not that Ronnie asked any questions, this was just another incident that was dismissed without investigation. So someone at Risley went to the trouble of forging a letter from a prisoner to Lucille Hughes at a time when the Dodds were under investigation and allegations of a paedophile ring operating in the children’s homes in north Wales were appearing in the media.

My own medical records provide evidence of corruption at Risley. In 1987 Dafydd Alun Jones told me over the telephone that if I didn’t drop my complaints about him he’d have me imprisoned in Risley. Brown heard this phone call as well. I ignored Dafydd’s threats and continued to try to pursue my complaints. Some months later a junior doctor working for Dafydd at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh made a statement to the police maintaining that I had tried to stab him – I was arrested and taken to Bangor Police Station. He claimed that I had pulled a knife out of my pocket and had brought the knife down upon him as though to stab him and the only reason that he wasn’t stabbed by me was that a male nurse had dragged me off him. The male nurse who allegedly rescued this junior doctor from my murderous attempt made a statement about the same incident. His statement maintained that I had shouted at the junior doctor because no-one was investigating my complaints about Dafydd et al – which was true. The nurse explained that I had a camping knife in my possession – this was in the days when camping knives could be legally purchased and held (yes, I was in north Wales camping at the time) – but I did not withdraw the knife, no-one saw the knife and I certainly didn’t try to stab anyone with it. Whilst I was at the police station, colleagues of Dafydd Alun Jones rang the police claiming that I had threatened to kill them. The custody sergeant was good enough to refuse to take their statements there and then and told me that ‘they’re all conspiring against you up there’. I later complained to the NHS about these events and observed to Alun Davies the corrupt manager of the mental health services that the custody sergeant had made this comment. Davies bellowed at me down the phone that he’d be ‘having a word with the police’ about that sergeant. The sergeant, Sgt Morgan, was some months later arrested and charged with indecently assaulting a teenaged girl in custody. Bangor Magistrates Court found him guilty and he was sacked from the North Wales Police. Before the police released me, Dafydd turned up at the police station, although he didn’t explain what he was doing there. Dafydd’s visit was very brief and involved him saying to me ‘I think ewe should be in prison’. The next day I returned to Leicester, where I was living at the time.

My complaint about the whole saga was never investigated and the junior doctor who lied in his statement to the police was never investigated either. Many years later when I finally obtained my medical records, I found a copy of a letter that had been written by an NHS administrator at Ysbyty Gwynedd at the time which stated that I was ‘now in Risley Remand Centre after stabbing someone with a knife’. Not only that, but there was a copy of a letter from the Mental Health Act Commission to the mental health services in north Wales, stating that as I was now in Risley Remand Centre they would write a letter to my home address in Leicester in response to my complaints about Dafydd et al.

I was never charged with attacking anyone with a knife. I had not appeared in Court in relation to attacking anyone with a knife and no request was made to any court at that time to have me remanded in Risley. So the Mental Health Act Commission cannot possibly have received any official documentation stating that this had happened. They had obviously just been told by one of their mates in the north Wales NHS – a mate who hadn’t realised that Dafydd’s plan had gone pear-shaped – that I was now safely in a cell in Risley, so of course a letter concerning my previous very serious complaints about Dafydd et al could be sent to my home address where the Mental Health Act Commission thought that I wasn’t. Problem dealt with. No investigation, patient framed and imprisoned for a serious offence, complaints about Dafydd’s previous criminal activities kicked into the long grass.

This whole sequence of events suggests corruption in the NHS, in Risley Remand Centre and in the Mental Health Act Commission. There was never an investigation into any of it or any of the people involved. People who included Dafydd, Dr Tony Francis (Dr X), Janice Davies (Dafydd’s henchwoman at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh), a Dr Ponnampalam, a Dr Khalid Siddiqui and David Ewart at the Mental Health Act Commission. Four years ago I discovered that Khalid Siddiqui was employed as an ‘independent doctor’ in the south east of England assessing people under the Mental Health Act. He is probably still doing this and getting paid handsomely for it.

In May 1989 Risley finally exploded in the form of a prison riot. A group of prisoners trashed a wing – not that there was much worth trashing, it wasn’t the Ritz – and a roof-top protest lasting three days took place. Michael Mansfield defended one of the leaders of the riot (not a man from north Wales). I remember Michael Mansfield writing in the press at the time about the appalling conditions, brutality and corruption at Risley. Mansfield’s client may not have come from north Wales, but I bet that Mansfield knew what was going on at Risley – as will have the other lawyers who worked with him on the case, Tim Owen and Jeremy Hawthorne – because of his habit of chatting at length to numerous people and knowing when he is hearing about corruption in high places. The jury acquitted the rioters at Risley. At the time of the Risley riot, the Home Secretary was Douglas Hurd, who was later replaced by David Waddington – members of the Gov’t who were wilfully ignoring the criminal misconduct that they were told was going on in north Wales.

Michael Mansfield came up against someone else who was networked into Dafydd and the paedophiles’ friends when he represented Mohamed Al Fayed at the inquests of Dodi and Diana – Lord Thomas Scott Baker. Scott Baker had previously sat as a judge on the Chester and Wales Circuit and in 1995 had imprisoned a highly vulnerable woman, Susan Brooke, who had passed through the North Wales Hospital who had undoubtedly crossed the paths of the paedophiles’ friends (see posts ‘So Who’s Path Had Susan Brooke Crossed?’, ‘More On The Susan Brooke Case’ and ‘Update On The Cases Of Susan Brooke And Sara Thornton’). How Scott Baker ever made the career move from being a paedophiles’ friend in north Wales to the coroner holding the inquests of Dodi and Di I do not know – particularly as the inquests of Dodi and Di were the first inquests that Scott Baker had ever conducted. Press comment at the time suggested that Scott Baker had been specifically brought in for the inquests because he was the one person who was thought to be capable of standing up to Michael Mansfield.

Think about this. Mansfield is clever, has been around a long time, knew about north Wales and Risley and always does his homework well. He will have made it his business to rifle through Scott Baker’s undies before the inquests – and he will have known that Scott Baker had previously worked on the shamefully corrupt Chester and Wales Circuit and had been involved in the Susan Brooke case. As with the case of the paedophiles at the heart of Thatcher’s Gov’t, Mansfield could have really dug up the dirt on Scott Baker and used it. He didn’t. Perhaps because Scott Baker was in a position to throw even more dirt at Mansfield – dirt suggesting that Mansfield and his famous freedom fighters had remained silent about a viscious paedophile ring linked to organised crime which had resulted in the framing and imprisonment of scores of innocent people, the deaths of a great many witnesses and the collusion of some of Mansfield’s friends and colleagues.

Michael Mansfield knows how low the Top Doctors and those who care will stoop if they feel that it is necessary. Mansfield represented Angela Cannings, a mother wrongly convicted and imprisoned for the death of two of her children, on the basis of the ‘expert evidence’ provided by Sir Roy Meadow. Meadow was a paediatrician who managed to invent a new psychiatric diagnosis – Munchausens by Proxy – and also managed to make up some statistics which he then spouted off whilst in the witness box. No-one questioned him until a number of mothers had been wrongly imprisoned for killing their children. A number of real statisticians then came forward and demonstrated very clearly that Meadow didn’t know his arse from his elbow and a number of innocent people were subsequently released from prison. The most famous example was Sally Clark, a solicitor who’s character had been absolutely trashed by the Top Doctors after two of her children died in infancy. Sally was imprisoned and although she was released on appeal in 2003, she had been so destroyed by her experience that she died not long after release. Not that this was enough for the Top Doctors. After Sally Clark was released, Top Doctor Professor David Southall – another expert in Munchausens by Proxy – on the basis of no evidence at all then named Sally Clark’s husband as the murderer of the children. Probably because his eyes were too close together. Meadow and Southall were eventually disciplined by the GMC, but a rearguard action was supported by their colleagues -particularly in the case of Southall – and many articles sympathetic to them appeared in the liberal media, reminding us that Southall was a Brave Doctor Who Cared About Children. The fact that in the case of Sally Clark a pathologist actually discovered that one of her children had died of an infection but chose not to mention this before or during the trial was not discussed in the Southall-supporting media. Meadow and Southall both maxed out the appeals process and were eventually reinstated as Top Doctors.

Mansfield also defended Barry George, the man with a number of vulnerabilities who was found guilty of the well-planned assassination of Jill Dando, although he was at a day centre several miles away when Jill Dando was shot dead outside of her house. Jill Dando was a reporter on ‘Crimewatch’, a programme which led to several miscarriages of justice, although the BBC didn’t make reference to that when they boasted about ‘Crimewatch’s’ success the other day. ‘Crimewatch’ was responsible for the conviction of Michael Stone, another case that many people find very troubling. There was no forensic evidence against Michael Stone whatever, but a Top Doctor watching ‘Crimewatch’ saw the episode featuring the murder of Lin and Megan Russell and rang in saying that it was just the sort of thing that his patient Stone would have done. Stone remains in prison many years later and continues to profess his innocence. Dando’s colleague on ‘Crimewatch’ Sue Cook was a close friend of George Carman QC, the crooked barrister who had many good friends who were gangsters or bent police officers (see posts ‘No Ordinary Methods’ and ‘No Ordinary Methods – Supplementary Post’).

Mansfield is not naïve. He knows that Top Doctors lie, particularly to cover their tracks after they have screwed up and he knows that Top Doctors who stick their necks out and challenge their colleagues are subjected to witch-hunts by the medical establishment. Mansfield is well-acquainted with the facts involved some of the most high profile child protection disasters that there have been since the 1970s, 80s and 90s and later. Yet staggeringly, he described Esther Rantzen as a ‘vociferous and committed’ campaigner, citing Childline as evidence. The Esther who ‘didn’t know’ about Jimmy Savile, who ‘didn’t know’ about her former bedfellow Sir Nicholas Fairbain, the Esther who’s sister worked as a social worker for Lambeth Social Services whilst it had one the worst records on child protection in the UK, the Esther who appointed her sister’s manager as Chief Exec of Childline. The Childline that was alleged to have ignored calls from children in care who were being abused. The Esther who then ran a mental health campaign and who ignored a letter that I sent her about the criminal activities of Dr Dafydd Alun Jones et al. But then Mansfield’s PA Susie Haig worked as a counsellor for Childline. So Susie probably heard the same story that I heard from Childline then – that Esther was so dreadful when speaking to the children that they had to work hard to ensure that she didn’t actually answer any calls herself when she was gracing Childline with her presence to drum up a bit of good PR.

Mansfield did a lot of work for the NUM during the miners strike of 1984 and also defended Arthur Scargill when Scargill was arrested. Mansfield and Scargill were friends and established the Socialist Labour Party together. My post ‘It’s All About Protecting Children’ described how Arthur Scargill shared a platform in Bangor a few years ago with a paedophiles’ friend and how this particular paedophiles’ friend has married a lady who has stood for the Socialist Labour Party in north Wales in General Elections. Mansfield had an excellent grip on the police corruption and the various dirty tricks used to frame and prosecute miners who had themselves been assaulted by the police.

It was at this time that Mansfield got together with the lady who was to become his wife for 30 years, documentary maker Yvette Vanson. Vanson and Mansfield lived in Yorkshire for a while, Vanson researching for and making her films and Mansfield defending the miners. Mansfield and Vanson became very well-networked into the community in Yorkshire via a man called Terry Dunn and they also had connections on the ground in south Wales. Like north Wales, Yorkshire had a major problem with police corruption, a paedophile ring – and a man called Jimmy Savile who was involved with both. Surely Mansfield and Vanson heard SOMETHING about all of this? Terry Dunn must have known – Mansfield tells us that after the strike, Dunn did a degree at the LSE and ‘fought for trade union rights’ via an unidentified charity in London. Mansfield was a lawyer and Vanson was a producer of TV documentaries about people having a hard time – people like Mansfield and Vanson are approached constantly by people who’ve been stuffed over asking for help. This even happened to me after I appeared in the media talking about the abuses of the mental health services and I’m not famous – but people rang me, they e mailed and they wrote. Anyone speaking publicly about the abuse of people who feel powerless definitely gets approached by people who’ve suffered at the hands of the oppressors.

It is to Yvette Vanson to whom I will now turn, because I suspect that Yvette Vanson knows so much she would be capable of writing a blog like this and she must have shared some of what she knew with Michael Mansfield.

Yvette Vanson went to the Royal College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, 1968-70 and also did a degree in social sciences at a later date. In 1979 Vanson landed a job with the BBC Community Programmes Unit with Mike Fentiman, only to find herself then blacklisted because of her previous involvement with the Workers Revolutionary Party (WRP). The BBC at the time was reputed to employ a member of MI5 who beavered away screening out undesirables and Vanson was one of them. So Vanson occupied herself doing other things for a few years, including producing training videos with Tony Wardle for East Sussex Social Services. Vanson is the sort of TV producer who gets to know her subject well, she too mixes and chats with people who are being exploited and abused. Vanson is not daft and her – extensive – work for East Sussex Social Services will have undoubtedly brought her face to face with bad practice, a dysfunctional social care system and neglect and abuse of clients. Vanson also made a documentary about the Mental Health Act – that was the Act which was drafted by Professor Robert Bluglass who two years later covered up the criminal activities of Dafydd and Dr Tony Francis which included breaking the law enshrined in that Act. Vanson worked in other areas of disability as well, which brought her into close contact with people from SCOPE and Leonard Cheshire – both organisations which have been accused of the abuse of vulnerable people. She will have known something.

Vanson took her film crew into Lambeth Town Hall when Lambeth Council workers were staging a sit-in – a Jim O’Brien was leading the workers’ protest. Ever think of mentioning what was happening to the kids in the care of Lambeth to the film crew then Jim?

Vanson made ‘Kentucky Fried Medicine’, a critique of the US healthcare system. She noticed only a ‘very, very few people who were willing to criticise and risk their jobs’. She’ll have noticed the same phenomenon in the UK NHS but she doesn’t mention that – Vanson made a documentary called ‘Stitching Up The NHS’.

In 1984, Vanson managed to find her way back into the BBC again, once more working with the BBC Community Programmes Unit and names Mike Fentimen and Tony Lye as people with whom she worked.

I have a friend who worked for the BBC in the late 80s and early 90s – in the documentary commissioning department. My friend maintained that the dept was openly corrupt and his boss had a huge row with him after my friend refused to accept bribes. My friend was told by this boss that he’d make sure that my friend would never work in London again. Weeks later my friend was transferred to Manchester and was made redundant shortly afterwards. The name of the BBC executive whom my friend alleged was involved? Paul Hayman. I was also told that Hayman had a huge in-tray on his desk full of ideas for commissions that documentary makers had sent in and that Hayman would invite chosen people into his office and tell them to take their pick of the other people’s ideas. Vanson mentions working with Paul Hayman when she produced ‘Presumed Guilty’ for BBC’s Inside Story.

The interview which Vanson gave from which I have obtained my information about her career didn’t mention the sort of rampant corruption witnessed by my friend at the BBC, but Vanson does talk about some people at the BBC editing her work to such an extent that the documentary was changed as well as the reluctance of certain people at the BBC to produce anything that the Gov’t might throw a hissy fit over. In the wake of Vanson’s documentary about the miners’ strike ‘Taking Liberties’, the BBC threatened to close the whole Community Programmes unit.

Vanson seemed to have been particularly irked by Liz Forgan, although when Forgan was getting on Yvette Vanson’s tits I think Forgan might have been working for Channel 4 – Vanson made documentaries for them as well. Liz Forgan is now Dame Liz. She was Editor of the Guardian Women’s pages 1978-82, then a Guardian columnist 1997-98 and then a non-executive director of the Guardian Media Group from 1998. Forgan was founding Commissioning Editor and then Director of Programmes at Channel 4, 1981-90. In 1993 she was appointed MD of BBC Network Radio, but she left the BBC in 1996 over a row with the DG John Birt concerning moving BBC Radio News from Broadcasting House to Television Centre. (Which seems an extraordinary thing to leave one’s job over – couldn’t Liz have resigned over Savile or all the corruption or something worthwhile?) Between 2001-08 Forgan was Chair of the National Heritage Memorial Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund. In 2009 Dame Liz became Chair of the Arts Council of England – this was seen as a Labour Party appointment and Liz must have pissed a few other people off as well as Yvette Vanson, because in 2010 the Coalition Gov’t cut the Arts Council’s budget by nearly 30%. In 2003 Forgan was appointed Chair of the Scott Trust, the company which owns the Guardian Media Group and which is responsible for appointing the Editor of the Guardian.

Other notables as well as Liz have occupied the position of Chair of the Scott Trust. Hugo Young was in that role immediately prior to Liz – it was on Young’s watch that Alan Rusbridger who was Editor of the Guardian between 1995-2015 was appointed. The Chair before Young was Alistair Hetherington, who was appointed in 1984.

I first heard about Hetherington in 1982 from two of my friends who were studying film and media at Stirling University. They told me about a huge row that had blown up which had found its way into ‘The Scotsman’ – the University had appointed Hetherington, a journo, to a Research Chair. This was one of the first appointments by a UK university of a non-academic to a Chair and the fur flew. There were allegations that Stirling had only done this to toady to people in high places and that Hetherington had none of the qualities needed to successfully occupy the role. The students protested and my friends were signatories to the letter of protest that was sent to ‘The Scotsman’. Hetherington was appointed nonetheless – but it looks like my friends were right to have had their reservations, because Hetherington was never seen in the University, certainly didn’t do any research and buggered off in 1984 to Chair the Scott Trust. Whilst at the Scott Trust Hetherington received very serious grief from the NUJ. He supported Peter Preston as Editor of the Guardian and played a substantial role in the appointment of Hugo Young as his own successor as Chairman of the Scott Trust. So who was this man whom Stirling University prostrated themselves before?

Alistair was the son of Sir Hector Hetherington, a Professor at University College Cardiff and then Principal of the University of Glasgow. Whilst serving in the army in WWII Hetherington was a major in the Intelligence Corps. In 1950 he joined the Manchester Guardian as a journo and in 1953 Hetherington became Editor. Hetherington claimed to be a campaigner for social justice – he was present at the founding of CND and attended the preliminary meetings at the house of Lord Simon Wythenshawe, along with Sir Bernard Lovell and Bertrand Russell. Yet Hetherington did not support or join CND – indeed Hetherington actually tried to launch his own movement with aims directly in opposition to CND. Years later he performed another U turn over Vietnam, after meeting US military commanders in Saigon. In 1959 Hetherington oversaw the evolution of the ‘Manchester Guardian’ into the ‘Guardian’ and the office subsequently relocated to London. The ‘Guardian’ lost a great deal of money but was kept afloat by its sister paper, the ‘Manchester Evening News’.

Hetherington was close to Harold Wilson but even closer to Jo Grimond, the Liberal MP who would have become leader of the Party had Thorpe not got there instead. Hetherington spent 20 years writing leading articles to promote Liberal-Labour co-operation in order to defeat the Tories.

In 1975 Michael Swann, the Chairman of the BBC, offered Hetherington the post of Controller of BBC Scotland. There was as much trouble following that appointment as there was when Hetherington landed the Chair at Stirling. Hetherington  clashed with the DG at the BBC, Charles Curran and in 1978 was sacked by Curran’s successor, Ian Trethowan. Hetherington had to slum it as the manager of BBC Radio Highland until he was offered the Chair at Stirling.

Hetherington’s mate Michael Swann was a molecular biologist. Between 1965-74 he was Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh. In 1972 Swann was confronted with much trouble from the students, led by one Gordon Brown, who had been elected Rector. Ted Heath was so wowed at Swann’s ‘strong leadership’ at Edinburgh that he gave Swann a knighthood and then in 1974 appointed him as Chair of the BBC. In 1979 Swann was appointed Chancellor of York University and in 1981 he was given a peerage. Swann’s brother Hugh was Cabinet Maker to HM the Queen.

The present Chair of the Scott Trust is Andrew Graham. His CV has all the right ingredients – Sunday Times, LWT, Channel 4, Fellow of the Royal Television Society and Royal Society of Arts…

Today’s Mail Online published an angry article demanding to know why so many ‘left wing luvvies’ are heads of Oxbridge Colleges. A number of sinners were named and shamed, including Mark Damazar (latterly of the BBC), Alan Rusbridger, Jackie Ashley (Guardian columnist and wife of Andrew Marr of the BBC) and dear old Baroness Helena Kennedy. I don’t think that the elevation to great heights of such folk has much to do with them being lefties or luvvies. Like the people at the top of the Daily Mail, one reason why none of this lot have been blown out of the water is that they have all kept schtum about the organised sexual abuse of children by public figures and senior politicians and civil servants.

Vanson won a Royal Television Society award for her film about sexual harassment at work, ‘Making Advances’. The film was presented by Emma Freud. This was pre-Savile, pre-Rolf and pre-Stuart Hall. And indeed pre-Clement Freud, Emma’s father.

There is one TV documentary made by Vanson that I am particularly interested in. It was a documentary that was screened by BBC Wales in approx. 1996-97 entitled ‘Breaking the Mold’ and it concerned the fight to save Theatre Clwyd which was facing closure. Vanson mentions working with the commissioning editor of BBC Wales, John Geraint on a programme about Aberfan, so I’m wondering if he commissioned ‘Breaking The Mold’.

Theatre Clwyd was the baby of the former Chief Exec of Clwyd County Council, T.M. Hadyn Rees. Hadyn Rees was Chief Exec of Clwyd 1974-77 – as the paedophile gang raged in children’s homes run by Clwyd County Council. Hadyn Rees was a lawyer who was a member of the Welsh Arts Council, 1968-77. Hadyn Rees, like his successor Mervyn Phillips, had a great many fingers in a great many pies. Further details of the numerous fingers and pies involving these paedophiles’ friends can be read in my post ‘Ain’t Nothing Clean – Not Even The Welsh Calvinistic Methodists’. The upshot was that Hadyn Rees and Mervyn Phillips spearheaded huge projects which purchased them much kudos and power within north Wales yet it was never clear how these projects were funded. Whilst all this was happening, there were constant financial crises in Clwyd County Council  – the money just seemed to disappear but on what was unfathomable, because the Council certainly weren’t spending it on services for the citizens of Clwyd. Again and again there are references in local gov’t documents to the terrible financial problems in Clwyd – the Council had to go cap in hand to various places for bail outs, there was a huge row because the rates/council tax had to be hiked up to one of the highest levels in the UK and after the abolition of Clwyd County Council at the time of the submission of the Jillings Report into the abuse of children in the care of the Council, an enormous black hole in the funds was revealed which was carried over into the new organisation, Flintshire County Council. At the retirement party of Roger Parry, the Finance Chief of Clwyd, jokes were made about Roger’s catchphrase being ‘struggling on’, although there were many warm words for him from senior officers who remembered how he ‘rescued’ the Council at a time of crisis. Roger himself told the party that he was glad that he was able to save the day, but warned everyone not to embezzle the Council funds after his retirement.

Theatre Clwyd was a grand enterprise from the outset – it was opened in 1976 by HM the Queen and for a theatre in a small rural town in north Wales it really is quite impressive. The official narrative regarding the funding of the theatre is that it is funded by Clwyd County Council. It hit the buffers in about 1996 and was facing closure – this happened when Tom Middlehusrt was Chief Exec of Flintshire County Council. Just after the Jillings Report had confirmed the most dreadful abuse of children in Clwyd and the possible presence of a paedophile ring, just as the Waterhouse Inquiry was ordered. Just after Clwyd County Council had disappeared in a puff of smoke leaving the huge black hole in its wake – and when the newly created Flintshire County Council was ordered by Michael Beloff QC, the legal advisor to their insurers, to never release the Jillings Report to anyone, even the Councillors, on the grounds that what had happened to the children in care was so indefensible that the insurers would withdraw the Council’s cover if the Report was made public and the Council members themselves would be personally liable for the damages and costs if any of the former children in care sued. Michael Beloff QC styled himself a human rights/civil liberties barrister – he was a colleague of Mansfield, Gareth Peirce, Cherie Booth et al.

Tom Middlehurst – who later became the AM for Alyn and Deeside – is credited for having helped save Theatre Clwyd, although I can’t quite work out HOW. What is clear though is that Middlehurst managed to drum up a great deal of good publicity for the Theatre, which included Vanson’s documentary. Vanson herself described Theatre Clwyd as ‘really inspirational’ and in retrospect suggested that perhaps her film had helped the theatre stay open and that it was one of her ‘campaigning successes’. The person running Theatre Clwyd at the time was Helena Kaut-Howson, who is now a very big name in theatre internationally. David Hanson MP – another one of the paedophiles’ friends who is married to Margaret Hanson, the current Vice-Chair of the deadly Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board – spoke in Parliament about the crisis facing the theatre and described Theatre Clwyd as ‘an important social and cultural asset of north Wales’.

Middlehurst summoned up a very big name indeed in order to save the paedophiles’ friends’ extravagant folly – he contacted Terry Hands, who became CEO and Director of Theatre Clwyd in 1997. Terry Hands was one of the founders of the Liverpool Everyman Theatre in 1964. Hands went to school in Woking and studied at the University of Birmingham and RADA. After establishing the Everyman, in 1966 Hands joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and in 1986 became its CEO. Then in 1997 he gave the paedophiles’ friends an enormous helping hand. Hands also became the Vice-President of the Llangollen International Eisteddfod – scores of the paedophiles’ friends are associated with that festival and for a number of years Sir Ronnie Waterhouse was President. Hands is or was visiting Professor at the Atrium at the University of South Wales and is or was Joint President of the Arvon Foundation. The Arvon Foundation is a charity which promotes creative writing and runs a number of residential writing retreats. Poets previously involved with the Arvon Foundation include Ted Hughes, Seamus Heaney and Philip Larkin. Former tutors include Willy Russell, Ian McEwan, Andrew Motion, Carol Ann Duffy, Ian Rankin and Will Self. Hands left Theatre Clwyd in 2015, by which time it was the most successful theatre in Wales. In 2014 Wales Online had reported that Theatre Clwyd’s funding was at risk again – at this point Colin Everett was the Chief Exec of Flintshire County Council. Wales Online reported that the theatre had its own production company which travelled across the UK – the theatre company was described as being ‘subsidised’ by Flintshire County Council, which had left the Council with a big bill…

I have no idea how Middlehurst managed to rope Terry Hands in, but I note that Middlehurst went to Liverpool Poly. The Everyman was a huge cult in Liverpool and it fancied itself as bohemian and political. By the mid-70s some people who became very influential were associated with the Everyman, including Julie Walters, Cathy Tyson, Pete Postlethwaite and Matthew Kelly. The Everyman was associated with actors and writers on the left who had originated from working class backgrounds.

Pete Postlethwaite died not so long ago and spent the last part of his life in Shropshire. In 1987 he began a relationship with the woman whom he married in 2003, Jacqui, who was a BBC producer. In 1994 Pete Postlethwaite starred in  ‘Sin Bin’, directed by George Case. Postlethwaite played the part of a prison officer in a secure hospital in which one patient murders another. Case and the scriptwriter obviously had a very good knowledge of what goes on in secure hospitals – scenes involved the prison officers making crude sexual jokes about the patients, about the crimes that they were alleged to have committed which resulted in them being banged up and mocking notions such as ‘service users’. Like the film ‘Scum’ which portrayed the brutality inside a young offenders institution some ten years previously, ‘Sin Bin’ accurately portrayed the attitudes of staff – but it wasn’t quite as bad as those institutions are in real life. In the way that ‘Scum’ didn’t portray the staff sexually assaulting the boys, no-one banged up in ‘Sin Bin’ was there because they’d dared mention that they’d been abused in care or by the Top Doctors.

It is significant that both ‘Scum’ and ‘Sin Bin’ were fiction – not even Yvette Vanson made a documentary about the institutions that the paedophiles’ friends ran. She just made a film about their theatre when it had bankrupted the Council. Again.

Matthew Kelly spent much of his career pursuing a rather different path to his contemporaries at the Everyman. Like Julie Walters and Victoria Wood, Kelly trained at Manchester Poly – and like Vanson and Gareth Peirce he had been a member of the Workers Revolutionary Party. Kelly spent years presenting light entertainment shows such as ‘Game For A Laugh’ and ‘Stars In Their Eyes’. Until in 2003 – when he was arrested over allegations of child sexual abuse, as part of Operation Arundel. Operation Arundel resulted in the imprisonment of Jonathan King who like Kelly was investigated for abusing underaged boys in the 1970s. Kelly was never charged, on the grounds that the CPS did not have sufficient evidence. Another person investigated as part of the same operation was Tam Paton, the former manager of the Bay City Rollers, one of whom was imprisoned for the possession of child porn whilst he was working as a nurse in middle age. After Jonathan King was released from prison he angrily denounced what he claimed was the hypocrisy of those who had prosecuted him and excluded him from polite society. King maintained that he knew scores of other people in the entertainment industry who had done exactly what he had done but who had not been prosecuted. He also claimed that the judge who sentenced him to seven years inside had been at Cambridge with him and had also been having sex with underaged boys. I note that no-one ever sued Jonathan King regarding that allegation.

Although Matthew Kelly was not prosecuted, he was certainly very shaken and distressed by the police investigation. Granada and ITV supported him – as did Julie Walters – and said that they looked forward to his return, but Kelly didn’t return. He kept a very low profile for the next ten years and only relatively recently began making public appearances again.

I have no idea whether Matthew Kelly ever has been involved with under-aged boys as accused, but I do know that people in the entertainment industry will robustly support people whom they are aware may be conducting themselves in a questionable manner. Greg Dyke’s book ‘Inside Story’ mentions that Michael Barrymore’s behaviour was so bad and so bizarre that people found him nigh-on impossible to work with. Dyke maintains that ‘everyone’ knew that Barrymore was gay and that he would disappear for days at a time when he was supposed to be filming. This went on many years before a sexually injured corpse was found in Barrymore’s swimming pool of which Barrymore claimed to know nuzzing.

There was an article in the ‘Morning Star’ today about culture/plays for the working classes, headed ‘Workers’ Play Time’. I wondered if it might mention Terry Hands, the Everyman, Mike Leigh etc, but it didn’t. However I discovered a whole new world. The article was written by Doug Nicholls, the GFTU (General Federation of Trade Unions) General Secretary. Doug was previously General Secretary of the union CYWU (Community and Youth Workers Union), 1987-2007, which represented youth workers, workers in youth theatre, community education, outdoor education, play workers and personal advisors. Don’t tell me that they didn’t know something about the sexual exploitation of young people. The CYWU joined the TGWU in 2006 and is now part of UNITE.  The CYWU used to publish their own magazine, ‘Rapport’. I’ve had a very quick look through a vintage copy and it comments on the sort of thing that I suspected that it would – it mentions the NCCL and Patricia Hewitt and there is a lot of confusion about sexuality. There are some people maintaining that they should be able to come out as gay or lesbian and act as a ‘role model’ to the youngsters, but these people are opposed by other members taking an overly bigoted or macho stance with references to poofs and lesbians in tweed. It is in such fetid atmospheres that the sexual exploitation of young people flourishes….

Michael Mansfield lived in Wandsworth whilst St George’s Hospital Medical School and Springfield Hospital concealed the serious criminal activities in north Wales. Wandsworth is just down the road from St George’s and Springfield, loads of the staff of those hospitals live in Wandsworth. I know for a fact that David Hole the corrupt MSF rep did – he knew what had happened to me in north Wales.
