Happy Birthday Sir!

On account of Carlo being a member of the gwerin and the gwerin containing a great variety and number of people (see post ‘Meet The Gwerin!’), I’m using this, the occasion of Carlo’s 70th, to write a post about just some of the gwerin who have contributed to keeping the show on the road re Dafydd and the gang whom I really should have mentioned by now but who have not had the attention that they deserve through pressure of blogging. Think of it as the equivalent of a medley.

Making his first appearance on ‘Service Shenanigans’ is David Vivian Penrose Lewis, 1st Baron Brecon (1905-1976). Lewis was born in 1905, the son of Alfred William and Elizabeth Mary Lewis of Talybont-on-Usk, Breconshire. He was educated at Monmouth School and left at the age of 16 when he left to work with his father, who owned stone quarries and slag merchants. Vivian Lewis made a considerable contribution to the development of the quarrying side of the business, which became the largest and most advanced in Wales.

At a young age, Vivian Lewis showed an interest in local politics when he was elected to Brecon Rural District Council in 1938. He obtained a seat on the Breconshire County Council in 1946, giving up his Rural District Council seat in 1949. Lewis was a Conservative and served as Chairman or President of a number of local Conservative organisations: Talybont-on-Usk Conservative branch, 1935-50; Brecon and Radnor Conservative Association, 1947-51; Brecon and Radnor Young Conservatives, 1949-56. In 1956 Vivian Lewis became Chairman of the Welsh Conservatives.

Vivian Lewis knew Beata Brookes, a much loathed member of Dafydd’s gang who ended up as the Tory MEP for north Wales, 1979-89. Beata came from a wealthy Denbighshire farming family of which the male members were all freemasons. She joined the Young Conservatives at the age of 15 in the mid-1940s and became national Vice-Chairman. After her stint with the Young Conservatives, Beata joined the grown-ups clubs and was elected to the National Union of Conservatives and Unionist Associates. In 1955 she was elected as a Conservative Councillor for Rhyl Urban District Council.

Beata Brookes studied at UCNW and then worked as a social worker for Denbighshire County Council. In 1963 the Conservative Government appointed Brookes to the Welsh Hospitals Board, the authority directly responsible for the North Wales Hospital Denbigh. She remained in that post for eleven years, whereupon Brookes became a member of the new Clwyd Health Authority, which took over the running of the North Wales Hospital. Brookes also served on the Social Services Committee in Clwyd, on the Family Practitioners Committee, on a number of other healthcare bodies and took a leading role in virtually every charidee for disabled people in north Wales.

Beata Brookes was one of the lynch pins in a huge prostitution/trafficking ring run by corrupt professional people which targeted children and vulnerable people in north Wales and she became involved with it at a very young age. Brookes was procuring young people for sex work with the elites by the time of the Profumo Affair and Dafydd and Lucille were involved in it by then as well. Beata Brookes’ attempt to get herself elected as the Tory MP for Clwyd North West in 1983 resulted in a civil war within the Tory Party in north Wales in which Cecil Parkinson at Conservative Central Office did not dare intervene although he was asked to, because everyone involved was on board with Dafydd and the gang. See previous posts. The war resulted in the later leadership challenge to Thatch from Sir Anthony Meyer, who was the key person battling with Brookes. When I first blogged about all this, I presumed that Meyer was trying to remove a people trafficker from circulation. Sadly not, Sir Anthony was a member of the gwerin himself, but he just hated Beata Brookes. Meyer had actually teamed up with Heseltine and was hoping that Heseltine would step forward to challenge Thatch as well if Meyer stood, but Heseltine held back until 1990. The whole situation began to explode as Mary Wynch headed toward the Master of the Rolls and Alison Taylor and I refused to shut up about the criminality in north Wales as well. For further information on Beata Brookes, Anthony Meyer et al, see previous posts.

One of Beata Brookes’s partners in crime was Peter Walker, who like Brookes entered Tory politics as a teenager and in 1958 became the Chairman of the Young Conservatives when he was in his mid-20s. Walker was the Tory MP for Worcester, 1961-92. He served in Ted Heath’s Gov’t as Minister of Housing and Local Gov’t, 1970, Secretary of State for the Environment, 1970–72 and Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, 1972–74. It was under Ted Heath’s Gov’t that Dafydd’s gang’s speciality in rent boys in particular bloomed and the violent, extreme sexual abuse of boys in Bryn Estyn as well as in other institutions in north Wales was wilfully ignored at Gov’t level.

Although Peter Walker was considered a Tory wet, under Thatch he served as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, 1979-83, Secretary of State for Energy, 1983-87 – during which time he led the charge against the NUM – and Secretary of State for Wales, 1987-90. It was a puzzle to some political commentators as to why Thatch had tolerated the wet Walker in her Cabinet. It was because he knew all about Dafydd’s gang in north Wales and colluded with and concealed their crimes. Walker was at MAFF when UCNW’s Dept of Agriculture, a hive of activity of Dafydd’s gang, effectively bankrupted the College; he used his knowledge of the trafficking gang in Wales that was led by Well-Respected People to shaft the NUM and break the 1984-85 Miners’ Strike and then he continued covering up all the crap – and murders – as Secretary of State for Wales. See previous posts.

Walker and his mate Beata knew the member of the gwerin (see post ‘Meet The Gwerin!’) which was Lord Kenyon, a Tory peer who was President of UCNW, 1947-82. Kenyon’s interests, like Beata’s, were agriculture and healthcare; his son Thomas Tyrell-Kenyon was known to be sexually abusing boys in care in north Wales yet Thomas never faced any charges. Lord Kenyon was Chairman of Clwyd Health Authority, the most senior Freemason in north Wales, a County Councillor, a member of the North Wales Police Authority, a JP and many other things besides. See previous posts. Brookes, Walker and Kenyon knew exactly what was going on in north Wales and ensured that it continued.

Peter Walker was a ‘determined supporter of the hospice movement’, becoming a Patron of St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester when it was founded in 1984. He campaigned for greater NHS support for the hospice movement. During a Lords debate in 2000, Lord Walker stated: “Anyone who visits hospices and meets the volunteers – the people running them and guiding them – will recognise their unique spiritual and compassionate contribution to the health service.” I presume that Walker’s pioneering and leading role in the hospice movement explains why in north Wales, St David’s and St Kentigern Hospices were established and are run by Dafydd’s gang (see previous posts). I have noticed that hospices in other parts of Wales and the wider UK are not always run by the sort of people whom should be left to care for the dying in spite of all the rhetoric about volunteers infused with spirituality.

Brown had a grandmother who used to cause Brown, Brown’s brother and I much entertainment by telling everyone that she wanted ‘a place in a hospice’, because she thought that hospices were up-market old folks’ homes rather than places where one went to die. We didn’t realise at the time that hospices were run by paedophile gangs and crooks, but there does seem to be a problem. Furthermore, not so long ago St Margaret’s Hospice in Taunton was embroiled in scandal, so it’s just as well that Brown’s gran never got through the doors.

I’m probably missing something obvious but I cannot understand how Peter Walker the People Trafficker found hospices a source of raw meat/blood on which to gorge, but he obviously did. See previous posts for more information on Peter Walker.

Vivian Lewis was also well known in mid-Wales as a keen sportsman; he was President and Captain of the Crickhowell cricket team and a rugby player with both the Abergavenny team and Crawshay’s XV, formed by his friend, Captain Geoffrey Crawshay.

Dafydd’s gang’s great friend Sir Tasker Waktins, the ‘Greatest Living Welshman’, war hero, corrupt lawyer and judge, Law Lord, Deputy Lord Chief Justice, President of the Welsh National School of Medicine and many more things (see previous posts), was an enthusiastic rugger bugger throughout his life and was President of the Welsh Rugby Union, 1993-2004. Some rugger buggers are harmless but those who enjoy wrestling-with-each-other-in-oil-while-drunk-and-naked-to-show-that-they-are-not-at-all-gay do cause much trouble and many such specimens are to be found in medical schools. The rugger buggers are very loyal to each other as a result of all the drunken bonding and they have an extensive network which extends outside of the UK. The staff of Bryn Estyn were nearly all associated with Wrexham Rugby Club and the association between Bryn Estyn and the Rugby Club was so close that vacancies at Bryn Estyn were advertised in the Rugby Club. The one female member of staff at Bryn Estyn was also involved with Wrexham Rugby Club.

Graham the zany Python and Top Doc rugger bugger who qualified at Bart’s, prosecuted for the sexual abuse of underaged boys? No, that never happened…

Princess Diana's men 'a Royal concern' - Telegraph

Capt. Geoffrey Cartland Hugh Crawshay (20 June 1892 – 8 November 1954) was a Welsh soldier, social benefactor and rugger bugger. Geoffrey Crawshay was born in Abergavenny and a descendant of Richard Crawshay, the ironmaster who oversaw the first major expansion of Cyfarthfa Ironworks.

Crawshay was educated at Wellington College and later University College of South Wales (which evolved into Cardiff University) before taking up an apprenticeship at an ironworks in Cwmbran. In 1914 he joined the 3rd Battalions of the Welch Regiment before being transferred to the newly formed Welsh Guards. Crawshay remained with the regiment until 1924 creating many social societies, including the Welch Guard Choir and the regiment rugby team. On leaving the armed forces, Crawshay ran as a Liberal candidate in several south Wales constituencies, but after failing to win a seat he left politics behind and moved on to social work.

Crawshay had always shown a strong connection to the Welsh rugby players living in England, often travelling to Oxford and Cambridge Universities, inviting Welsh undergraduates to breakfast, in an attempt to recruit new rugby talent. In 1922, Crawshay was invited to bring a team to play against Devonport Services RFC. The resulting team banded together as Crawshay’s Welsh RFC, an invitational team who still play to the present day.

Some of Crawshay’s proudest honours were the Eisteddfod prizes won by his military choirs. Crawshay was a member of the Gorsedd of the Bards – as were/are so many of the paedophiles’ friends – with the bardic name ‘Sieffre o Gyfarthfa’ and was a mounted Herald of the Bard. Crawshay was not a Welsh speaker from childhood, so learned the language as an adult to fulfil his bardic duties.

  • BBC Wales - Eisteddfod - Guide - What is the Gorsedd?

Dafydd boasted a great deal about his links with the Gorsedd. I believe that his bardic name was ‘Twm Hen’ (‘Old Tom’), taken from the masterpiece drawn by a Hergest Unit patient in 1993, ‘Old Tom Meets Pussy Brandt’.

‘We didn’t know.’

Then why did the Hergest patients spend so much of their time taking the piss out of it all???

I even had some of the artwork on the wall of my house. Visitors would come in and roll around laughing, instantly recognising the subjects of the portraits. And on one occasion, Jeff Crowther the nursing officer at the Hergest Unit, observed that Dafydd’s willy should have been drawn as a far smaller appendage and with an incontinence device attached to the end of it. You were an inspiration Jeff, your suggestion was indeed followed…

Sadly Jeff’s own wife, an Angel who later got a job as a lecturer in the Psychology Dept at UCNW, died at the hands of Dafydd’s gang. Jeff’s wife was an enthusiastic Women’s Morris Dancer and after her cremation, her mate Nicky Heinersdorff, a GP in Bethesda, another Morris Dancer, led a Morris Dance in tribute to Jeff’s wife. Heinersdorff was one of those who refused to blow the whistle on Dafydd’s crimes. As was Jeff. Jeff was subsequently threatened with murder by one of Dafydd’s ‘substance abuse patients’ and had to go into hiding. Jeff then left north Wales. Heinersdorff continued to practice as a GP with the gang and some years later, as the on-call out-of-hours GP, refused to go out and see a patient who was having a heart attack, although the man was one of her own patients who had a long history of heart problems. He died. This man lived about 10 mins walk down the hill in Rachub from Heinersdorff’s own house. That man was my former next door neighbour who had, over a period of years, witnessed what had happened to me and others at the hands of Dafydd’s gang. He was denied medical help after the gang had launched their attack on my PhD supervisor, the VC of Bangor University and escalated their attacks on Brown and I after we began publishing about the mental health services.

Nicky Heinersdorff’s victim had numerous connections which had left him with knowledge of gang members. This was well-known because he was friendly and chatty. As a young man he had done a degree in botany at Manchester University, where he had been taught by Peter Greig-Smith, who later relocated to UCNW where Greig-Smith spent years as a Prof in the Dept of Plant Biology, when that Dept was staffed by many friends and relatives of the gang. Greig-Smith was a colleague/friend of the Cambridge botanist Prof Edred Henry Corner, who was Douglas Hurd’s uncle. See post ‘Additional Security Measures’. Hurd was one of the Home Secretaries who colluded with Dafydd and the gang’s criminality. Greig-Smith’s son, also called Peter, was a Top Doctor in Liverpool. The man who was left to die by Nicky Heinersdorff had also for years been a volunteer for clinical trials/experiments in the Dept of Psychology at UCNW/Bangor University.

Ron is buried in Coetmor Cemetary near Rachub, if anyone would like to visit the grave of a man who was rather more intelligent, erudite and had more integrity than the murdering bastards who run north Wales.

Yesterday the Welsh Gov’t announced that it would be giving another £39m to the NHS in Wales to help it cope with ‘winter pressures’.

Ah the doctors they were wonderful! You can’t complain can you!

Indeed not, you’ll soon be dead if you do.

Heinersdorff’s husband was a builder and the Bethesda builders all had a massive scam which they were working in collaboration with the building societies in Bangor, to force people applying for mortgages to undertake expensive, unnecessary work on houses. See post ‘Meet The Gwerin’. I’m fairly sure that the estate agents in Bangor knew what was going on as well. One of the estate agents, Karen, who worked in Reeds and Rains in Bangor at the time later went to do an archaeology degree at Bangor University. Karen stayed on for a PhD and then secured a bit of lecturing work in the Dept where the VC of Bangor University Merfyn held his Chair, which was teaming with gwerin who had close links with Dafydd and the gang, when the gwerin were trying to force Merfyn out of his job.

Ron’s widow lives on her old age pension and supplements her income by selling her art work. GPs are some of the most highly paid people in Wales, which is why Heinersdorff only needed to work two or three days a week, yet still had a higher income than virtually anyone else in Rachub. Except for Ioan Bowen Rees of course, the Chief Executive of Gwynedd County Council, who was employing the social workers who neglected and abused their clients in Rachub. Heinersdorff now benefits from the very generous Top Doctors’ pension arrangements. Her pension will be more than the incomes of many people in Rachub who are of working age.

The Crawshay family married into the Huxley family in the early 20th century. The Huxleys were friends with Bertrand Russell and Sir Clough Williams-Ellis’s crowd in the Llanfrothen/Croesor area of what is now south Gwynedd, who knew about – and sometimes utilised the services of – Dafydd’s gang and, before Dafydd arrived on the scene, those who preceded Dafydd, Beata Brookes, Peter Walker etc, such as Gwynne the lobotomist.  See previous posts eg. ‘So Who Was Angry About What?’ and ‘The Village’.

Rupert Crawshay-Williams, the great-grandson of Thomas Henry (T.H.) Huxley, wrote ‘Russell Remembered’, an account of Russell’s life of thinking and socialising and dropping in for afternoon tea with Clough and generally living the life of Riley while Gwynne and Dafydd destroyed the lives of their less privileged neighbours. It is a fascinating book and one which drops the names of many paedophiles’ friends from an earlier era.

Sir Julian Huxley (1887–1975) was the first Director-General of UNESCO. He was Secretary of Zoological Society, Co-founder of the World Wildlife Fund and President of the British Eugenics Society.

The Duke of Edinburgh is the Patron of many organisations, including WWF and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The Duke was the first President of WWF-UK from its foundation in 1961 to 1982, and President of WWF-International from 1981 to 1996. He is now President Emeritus for WWF.

HRH Carlo’s father was famously promoting the WWF while he enjoyed a bit of hunting.

Julian’s brother Aldous is famous for writing ‘Brave New World’, which when Louise Brown was born in 1978 people stated was ‘about test-tube babies’. At the end of the book the hero in ‘Brave New World’ is found hanging, although Dafydd’s gang don’t feature in the story.

Strange but true

Aldous also experimented with mescaline and wrote ‘The Doors Of Perception’ as a result.

Andrew Huxley (1917–2012), another of T.H. Huxley’s grandchildren, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for studies of the CNS, especially the activity of nerve fibres. Huxley’s work was carried out on the Atlantic squid, a creature with tentacles that get everywhere. Andrew was the second Huxley to be President of the Royal Society, the first being his grandfather, T.H.Huxley, because being President of the Royal Society, like mental illness, is Genetic. Sir Andrew Huxley’s education and work took place mostly at Trinity College, Cambridge and UCL. That was probably Genetic as well.

Here is the man who inherited such superior strands of DNA:

Sir Andrew Huxley

Jessie, the eldest daughter of T.H. Huxley, married Frederick Waller, who became architect to the Dean and Chapter of Gloucester Cathedral and unofficial architect-in-chief to the Huxley family. Sir Clough Williams-Ellis was an architect, he was memorably described as having built Portmeirion from a few bits and pieces that he found lying about in his back garden.

One of the victims of Dafydd’s gang whom I knew in Bangor in the 1980s and 90s was a man called Trevor Tunstall. Trevor had been one of the architects who had worked on the Bull Ring Centre in Birmingham in the 1960s and knew much about the civic corruption in Birmingham at that time, which was linked to the network of those we know and love in north Wales (see previous posts). People liked to believe that Trevor was a nutter but Trevor was in reality an intelligent man who knew much about the wrongdoing in Bangor University, especially that in the Psychology Dept and Trevor could name names as well, along with details of the crimes. Including Dafydd’s corrupt practices in relation to the abuse of the Army pensions system.

The man who wrecked Trevor’s life and credibility was Dr Tony Francis. Francis sectioned Trevor and detained him in the North Wales Hospital Denbigh. Trevor was then offered a bed in ‘High Pastures’, one of Dafydd’s nursing homes. After admission Trevor noticed much wrong at ‘High Pastures’ and he was also presented with a bill for a great deal of money, far more than he had been led to believe. So Trevor discharged himself. He was subsequently refused all care and treatment after Tony Francis declared that ‘there is nothing that anyone can do for him’. Trevor and I made friends in the late 1980s and began exchanging experiences. Then a police officer in Bangor told Trevor that I was mad and dangerous and told me that Trevor was mad and dangerous. Trevor and I made friends all over again when we realised that we had both been told lies about each other and we exchanged a lot more information. At one point – although I only found out about this later – Trevor visited local solicitors in Bangor, including my solicitor Alwyn Jones and told them that he was very concerned at what was happening to me at the hands of the mental health services. But no-one took any notice because Trevor was mad. Then I told a few people that I was worried about what was happening to Trevor, but no-one took any notice, because I was mad.

Trevor died some years ago after being mad for decades. There are however Bangor grads about who knew Trevor because the students thought that Trevor was a bit of a laugh and used to invite him to their parties and they did not simply dismiss him as mad… I presume that one such Bangor grad is not Danny ‘Slumdog Millionaire London Olympics 2012 Wheel Me Out Whenever Dafydd’s Gang Needs Good PR’ Boyle.

Jessie and Fred had a son, Noel Huxley Waller, and a daughter, Oriana Huxley Waller. Noel became Colonel of the 5th Gloucesters and succeeded his father as architect to Gloucester Cathedral.  and had five children from two marriages. He married, first, Helen Durrant, with Anthony, Audrey, Oriana and Letitia as children. Then he married Marion Taylor, with daughters Marion and Priscilla.

Oriana married E.S.P. Haynes, an Eton and Balliol scholar  – although he wasn’t a Fellow of All Souls like all the best people are, he didn’t do too badly because Ted Heath went to Balliol – who became a dedicated divorce law reformer. They had three daughters, one of whom was Renée. Renee married Jerrard Tickell and they had three sons. One son is Crispin Tickell.

Sir Crispin is a member of the gwerin who has served the paedophiles’ friends in his capacity as Chef de Cabinet to Woy Jenkins, when Woy the member of the gwerin who gave long and loyal service to Dafydd’s gang was the President of the European Commission, 1977–1980. Sir Crispin was British Ambassador to Mexico, 1981–1983; Permanent Secretary of the Overseas Development Administration (now DfID), 1984–1987; British Ambassador to the UN; Permanent Representative on the UN Security Council, 1987–1990; Warden of Green College, Oxford, 1990-97. Sir Crispin is Director of the Policy Foresight Programme of the James Martin Institute for Science and Civilization at Oxford University. He is the President of the UK charidee Tree Aid, ‘which enables communities in Africa’s drylands to fight poverty and become self-reliant, while improving the environment’. Sir Crispin has many interests, including the early history of the Earth. Read all about it on this blog Sir Crispin, including the paleo-archaeology of the gwerin. See previous posts for more information re Sir Crispin and Woy.

The daughter of Sir Crispin’s brother Patrick is Dame Clare Tickell, Chief Executive of Action for Children, the new name for NCH (the National Children’s Home) which needed rebranding when it became public that many of those involved with it were paedophiles, including the Patron, George Thomas. In 2011, Clare Tickell’s brother, Adam, was appointed PVC at Birmingham University. Birmingham University grew out of Mason Science College, which Thomas Huxley formally opened in 1880. Professor Adam Tickell became VC at the University of Sussex in 2016.

Now here’s an interesting fact. Merfyn Jones went to Sussex University when he was a student because he took the view that Oxbridge was full of a load of moribund old stuffed shirts who were scratching each others backs. There’s no escape Merfyn, not even to Sussex, they are myriad, they are legion. Furthermore, as someone who left a comment on this blog recently observed, the stuffed blouses are every bit as bad as the stuffed shirts. What we need is Diversity! Let’s have some Wimmin! Now who’s wife/daughter/bedfellow is in need of a job???

Henry Huxley, the youngest son of T.H. Huxley, trained  as a Top Doc at Bart’s, along with so many others who served as umbrellas for Dafydd and the gang. Henry married Sophy Stobart, an Angel. Sophy was the daughter of a landowning and churchgoing Yorkshire family who were somewhat nervous of a connection with the son of a famous infidel, T.H. having maxed out on being an agnostic. Thus family meetings were held to smooth feelings and avoid difficulties. Everything must have been sorted though, because after the nuptials the couple were set up in London, with a medical practice for Henry.  Henry and Sophy had five children: Marjorie, Gervas, Michael, Christopher and Anne.

A shooting party in Scotland, 1907:

Back row: Henry Huxley; Gervas Huxley. Front row: Anne Huxley; Netty Huxley; Dighton Pollock.

Gervas, the eldest son of Henry Huxley, fought in WW I and received the Military Cross on the first day of Passchendaele for capturing prisoners whose presence showed the arrival of a fresh German Guards Division. In 1939 Gervas was recruited to help set up the wartime Ministry of Information. After the war he sat on the Executive Committee of the British Council. Gervas’s second marriage was to Elspeth Grant (1907–1997) in 1931. Elspeth had grown up in Kenya and was a friend of Joy Adamson.

Joy Adamson’s life and adventures with Elsa the lion were of course immortalised in the film ‘Born Free’. Although things weren’t quite as they were portrayed in ‘Born Free’. Joy Adamson, who had studied medicine, was reputed to be a very confrontational woman who was discussing Uganda with numerous people other than her husband – George Adamson was Joy’s third husband, her second husband had been a botanist – and treating the servants very badly. So much so that the servants really hated her. At one point, in order to raise money for the lions, Joy Adamson offered to have sex with the highest bidder. It’s not as if she was coerced into doing that by Dafydd et al, it was free will, but it was nonetheless the sort of thing that wasn’t mentioned on ‘Blue Peter’. When Joy Adamson was found dead in 1980, the world’s headlines screamed that she’d been killed by her Beloved Lions. It transpired that the Beloved Lions had been framed by the servants who had murdered Joy Adamson because they had had a bellyful and they had constructed a scene to make it look as though it was the lions wot did it. If only Adamson’s servants had employed the services of Dafydd’s gang, with Dr Donald Wayte as the pathologist, Dewi Pritchard Jones as the coroner and Huw Daniel as the judge, those lions would have gone down for that. In 1989, Joy’s husband George was murdered as well, but that was by Somali bandits and it couldn’t be blamed on the Beloved Lions.

The person who starred in ‘Born Free’ was Virginia McKenna:

Virginia McKenna

When I worked at St George’s Hospital Medical School, one of the most obnoxious members of staff who enthusiastically joined in the efforts to force me out when I refused to withdraw my complaint about Dafydd and the gang, with whom St George’s had links, was a researcher called Mandy Leigh. Mandy was mates with Virginia McKenna’s family and was involved with their conservation and fund raising activities. Other highlights of Mandy’s biography were her subjecting a visiting Yugoslavian doctor to a hate campaign because the doctor had a hormone disorder which caused a distortion in her voice, so Mandy referred to her as Eaglet and every time the Yugoslavian doctor entered the room Mandy would start making loud croaking noises; and Mandy having sex with Richard Penketh, a Top Doctor, in the lab during working hours, while Penketh gave her the list of names of the other staff that he wanted to shag. Penketh proved to be such a liability in terms of his relentless sexual harassment of staff who were not consenting a la Mandy and his failing of professional exams, that St George’s stated that they would ‘pass him on’, but not within London. They were going to give Penketh to Wales, ‘because that’s where we send all the really bad doctors’. Richard Penketh is indeed now working as a consultant gynaecologist at the University Hospital in Cardiff and he also has a private practice at the Spire Hospital. When the paedophiles’ friend Dr Brian Gibbons was the Welsh Gov’t Health Minister, he gave Penketh an award for excellence.

Ah the doctors they were wonderful! We mustn’t complain!

Biographers have sometimes noted the occurrence of mental illness in the Huxley family. T.H. Huxley’s father became “sunk in worse than childish imbecility of mind” and later died in Barming Asylum; brother George suffered from “extreme mental anxiety” and died in 1863 leaving serious debts. Brother James was at 55 “as near mad as any sane man can be”.

T.H. Huxley’s favourite daughter, Mady (Marion), who became the first wife of artist John Collier, was troubled by mental illness for years. By her mid-twenties it was becoming clear that she was not sane and was getting steadily worse (the diagnosis is uncertain). Huxley persuaded Jean-Martin Charcot, one of Freud’s teachers, to examine her with a view to treatment; but soon Mady died of pneumonia.

As a young apprentice to a physician, T.H. Huxley was taken to watch a postmortem dissection. Afterwards he sank into a ‘deep lethargy’ and though he ascribed this to dissection poisoning, Cyril Bibby and others have suggested that emotional shock precipitated a clinical depression. On the third voyage of HMS Rattlesnake in 1848, a voyage mostly to New Guinea and the NE Australian coast, including the Great Barrier Reef, Huxley experienced months of serious depression.

T.H. Huxley had periods of depression at the end of 1871, alleviated by a cruise to Egypt and again in 1873, this time coincident with expensive building work on his house. His friends were alarmed and his Top Doctor ordered three months rest. Darwin picked up his pen, and with Tyndall’s help raised £2,100 for him – an enormous sum. The money was partly to pay for his recuperation, and partly to pay his bills. Huxley set out in July to the Auvergne and his wife and son Leonard joined him in Cologne, while the younger children stayed at Down House in Emma Darwin’s care.

Finally, in 1884 T.H. Huxley sank into another depression, and this time it precipitated his decision to retire in 1885, at the age of only 60. Today’s Top Doctors are usually go earlier than that. Huxley resigned the Presidency of the Royal Society in mid-term, the Inspectorship of Fisheries and his Chair as soon as he decently could and took six months’ leave. His pension was a fairly handsome £1500 a year.

This is enough to indicate the way depression (or perhaps a moderate bipolar disorder) interfered with T.H. Huxley’s life, but he was able to function well at other times.

The problems continued sporadically into the third generation. Two of Leonard Huxley’s sons suffered serious depression: Trevenen committed suicide in 1914 and Julian suffered a number of breakdowns. Of course, there are many family members for whom no information one way or the other is available, but both the talent and the mental problems would have interested Francis Galton: “The direct result of this enquiry is… to prove that the laws of heredity are as applicable to the mental faculties as to the bodily faculties”.

No matter how rough the Huxleys felt or to what degree their troubles were Genetic, they at least did not encounter Dafydd et al. Had they done so, there would have been no books, voyages to New Guinea or Nobel prizes from any of them.

I will now return to Vivian Lewis and Brecon and Radnorshire after that detour.

During the early 1950s, the Conservative Gov’t resisted the growing pressure for the establishment of the post of Secretary of State for Wales. The MP for Brecon and Radnorshire, 1945-70, was the Labour member Tudor Elwyn Watkins, Baron Watkins (9 May 1903-2 November 1983), who was a supporter of the Parliament for Wales campaign, along with the Windbags’ and paedophiles’ friend and member of the gwerin, Lord Cledwyn, the Labour MP for Anglesey, 1951-79 (see previous posts eg. The Cradle Of Filth’ and ‘How Much Greater Is A Man than A Sheep?’).

A tablet at the Brecon Beacons Mountain Centre, with references to Lord Cledwyn and Tudor Watkins:

Watkins was born at Abercrave and worked as a miner from 1917 until 1925. He served as a Labour Party constituency agent in Brecon and Radnorshire, 1925-33 and was the General Secretary to the Breconshire Association of Friendly Societies, 1937-48. Watkins was also a supporter of CND. He visited the Soviet Union in 1961 and Patagonia in 1965. This member of the gwerin was created a life peer in May 1972. Lord Watkins died on 2 November 1983. He was cremated and his ashes buried in the churchyard of St David’s Church, Llanfaes, Brecon. His wife’s ashes are also buried there.

The Brecon area, like Snowdonia, was/is a favourite location to which children were/are taken for outward bound activities, weekends, holidays etc. Kids in care are often considered to benefit from such activities and there were problems in the Brecon area with those children being targeted and molested. On 6 January 1976, Anthony David Taylor was convicted at Talgarth Magistrates Court on two offences of indecent assault upon boys staying at the Bryn Alyn Community. He was fined £20 for each offence. The conviction of Taylor will have only been the tip of the iceberg. A number of people who were involved with the abuse of children or concealed it, including Baroness Eirene White, the Labour MP for East Flintshire, 1950-70, Adrianne Jones, who was one of the advisers to the Waterhouse Inquiry and had served as Director of Social Services in a number of authorities which were sending kids in care to children’s homes in north Wales including the City of Birmingham and George Melly, who offered underaged boys money in return for sex when he stayed in Bangor after a gig at Theatre Gwynedd, all retired to the Brecon area. See previous posts.

Churchill created a post of Minister for Welsh Affairs to be held by the post of Home Secretary. Harold Macmillan altered this arrangement in January 1957 when he appointed Henry Brooke as Minister for Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs. Around the same time, the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire recommended the appointment of a Secretary of State for Wales, with executive responsibilities similar to those of the Secretary of State for Scotland. The Council’s recommendation was supported by the opposition parties and by a number of Welsh Conservatives.

By 1957 the weekend gatherings at Cliveden, the family seat of Bill Astor, 3rd Viscount Astor, were an established tradition. The gatherings involved an interesting mix, including call girls from disadvantaged backgrounds – some of whom were still in their teens and had been coerced into sex work when they were as young as 15 – members of the Royal Family, Gov’t Ministers and it is alleged Russian spies. Baroness Jean Trumpington, who’s friend Sarah aka Sally Norton was dumped by Bill Astor in 1953 after producing the required heir, was a regular at Cliveden. See post ’95 Glorious Years!’. It was Trumpers who, in her capacity as Thatcher’s Health Minister, appointed Jimmy Savile to the management task force of Broadmoor in the late 1980s. See post ‘Socio-Political Context Of The North Wales Mental Health Services In The 1980s’ and ‘A Pretty Classy Piece Of Operation’. After Bill Astor ditched Sally Norton, he married Phillipa Hunloke, but he soon moved on and in 1960 he married Bronwen Alun-Pugh, the daughter of a Welsh judge. Bronwen was a former model and faced accusations that she and her friends were little more than Welsh slappers who had the goal of bagging rich men.

If Bronwen was an upmarket slapper, that particular idea had probably been suggested to Bronwen during her formative years by her Elders and Betters. Bronwen went to school in Dolgellau, the town in which Ioan Bowen Rees, the CEO of Gwynedd County Council when Dafydd’s gang ran riot in the kids homes, grew up and went to school. Ioan’s dad was the English master of the grammar school in Dolgellau and there was just one years difference in age between Ioan and Bronwen. Ioan Bowen Rees’s mum had been one of the first students to study at UCNW – UCNW paved the way by accepting women students from it’s very establishment before most universities did. Ioan’s father also went to UCNW and held office in the Students Union while he was there. For more information on Bronwen, see post ‘In Memoriam – Bronwen, Lady Astor’.

Henry Brooke, Baron Brooke of Cumnor (9 April 1903 – 29 March 1984) served as Macmillan’s Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Paymaster-General, 1961–62 and – following the “Night of the Long Knives” — as Home Secretary, 1962–64. So Henry was at the centre of the action when the Profumo Affair erupted, covering Macmillan’s Gov’t and his class in general with crap. Henry Brooke was a classmate of Rab Butler – another mate of Trumpers, from Trumpers’ days in Cambridge when Rab was Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, 1965-77 – at Marlborough College. Brooke then went to Balliol and taught there for one year.

Brooke worked at a Quaker settlement for the unemployed in the Rhondda, 1927–28. After a year on ‘The Economist’, Brooke became one of the original members, and subsequently Deputy Chairman, of the Conservative Research Dept, 1929–37, under the Chairmanship of Neville Chamberlain.  By the 1960s, the Conservative Research Dept was notorious for being staffed by predatory gay men and some of them had been employed there for years.

Brooke served as the Tory MP for Lewisham West, 1938-45. He was elected to the London County Council in 1946 and served as Conservative leader on the Council until 1951, continuing to serve on the Council and the Hampstead Borough Council until 1955. Previous posts have mentioned how numerous people who sat on the London County Council colluded with the abuse of children, including Jim Callaghan’s wife Audrey. Brooke was the last Deputy Chairman of the Southern Railway before nationalisation, 1946-48. Brooke returned to Parliament in 1950, and entered Churchill’s Gov’t in 1954 as Financial Secretary to the Treasury, serving under Rab Butler and Macmillan when they were Chancellors of the Exchequer.

Brooke continued in this job until 1957, when he became Minister of Housing and Local Gov’t and Minister of Welsh Affairs in Macmillan’s Gov’t, entering the Cabinet.

As Minister for Welsh Affairs, Henry Brooke caused anger throughout Wales through his crucial support of Liverpool Council’s bid to secure Westminster’s approval of an Act of Parliament to flood Cwm Tryweryn in Meirionydd – in order to create a reservoir to provide water for the city of Liverpool – thereby by-passing Welsh local authority opposition to the scheme. The flooding of Cwm Tryweryn resulted in the villagers of Capel Celyn being forcibly removed from their homes because the village was going underwater. There was a great deal of bad feeling and much was made by members of Plaid that Capel Celyn was a Welsh speaking village. Dafydd was involved with the Tryweryn campaign. Dafydd was a medical student at Liverpool at the time and he forged links with Irish Republican activists, travelling to Ireland to visit them, to gain knowledge and experience of violent methods of activism, including the use of explosives. By that time, Dafydd had found out that young people from Wales were being exported to England as sex workers and he began cultivating the company of corrupt professional people in Liverpool who would later assist him when he cranked up the people trafficking in a big way after he had qualified as a Top Doctor.

Largely in response to the protests over Tryweryn, Henry Brooke subsequently attracted investment to Wales, including such projects as the Severn Bridge, the steelworks at Llanwern, and the Heads of the Valleys Road.

Can anyone see North Wales hidden in the picture? Because I can’t. But then if the north Wales economy had been anything to boast about in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dafydd and the gang would not have been able to reign supreme as a result of them holding all of the scarce professional jobs in the region.

Some critics have maintained that Brooke was one of the worst Home Secretaries of the twentieth century. In the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Philip Knightley-Smith wrote, of Brooke’s two years at the Home Office: ““His declared priorities were to confront the crime wave and to reduce prison over-crowding by a new building programme: but his deliberative pragmatism was ill-suited to his new responsibilities…He was involved in one rumpus after another, and became widely reviled.”

Brooke was plunged into controversy at the very beginning of his term of office because of his initial reaction to the case of Carmen Bryan, a 22-year-old Jamaican woman and first offender, who pleaded guilty to petty larceny (shoplifting goods worth £2) and was recommended for deportation by Paddington Magistrates Court. Brooke’s acquiescence to the court order and Carmen’s six-week detention in Holloway Prison pending deportation was seen widely as both unnecessary and unjust. Neither bail or the opportunity to appeal were offered directly to Carmen. Standing firm, Brooke told the Commons, “I think it would be a great act of injustice if I were to stand in the way of her returning to Jamaica. I am not prepared to look at this case again”. Parliamentary outrage and the media spotlight combined to force a speedy review where, four days later, Brooke recanted, freeing Bryan and allowing her to remain. Deportations for misdemeanours were subsequently suspended. There had been more than eighty recommendations for deportation in the seven weeks following the Conservative Gov’ts introduction of the Commonwealth Immigrants Act (1962).

Now, Sir Henry has made it clear, you’ll be back on the next boat, although there may be a little weekend job for you at Cliveden if you’re interested…

Brooke received unprecedented criticism on ‘That Was The Week That Was’ on the BBC in 1962–63, which called him “the most hated man in Britain” and ended a mock profile of him with the phrase “If you’re Home Secretary, you can get away with murder”. You can if you are a Top Doctor as well, as Graham Chapman, who worked with and was friendly with many of those who starred in TWTWTW, knew by witnessing what his colleagues at Bart’s got up to.

Chapman came from Leicester where his father was a policeman. By the time that Chapman was growing up, the abuse ring in Leicester that later linked up to Dafydd et al in north Wales was established.

Brooke was also involved in the passage of various new anti-drug laws, including ones banning possession of amphetamines and the growing of cannabis. The hippies in Bethesda always maintained that it was Henry Brooke’s mishandling of drugs legislation that caused such problems with class A drugs and criminalised so many harmless people. Dafydd however did really well out of it, as the hippies used to point out. After all, they knew what Dafydd was doing.

As the final arbiter in death penalty cases Brooke was the last Home Secretary to allow a death sentence to go ahead.

Sir Alec Douglas-Home kept Brooke in office as Home Secretary when he became PM in October 1963 and his last 12 months in office, which saw the introduction of the Police Act 1964 and the creation of a Royal Commission on Crime and Punishment, attracted much less controversy.

Brooke lost his seat in 1966. He was created a life peer as Baron Brooke of Cumnor in July 1966 and acted as a Conservative front bench spokesman in the House of Lords until 1970. The onset of Parkinson’s disease then led him to retire gradually from public life.

Brooke married Barbara Muriel, the daughter of the Rev Alfred Matthews, a Welsh Minister in 1933. After having started a family, Brooke entered politics in 1948, when she became a member of Hampstead Council, a seat that she held until 1965; she also was a Joint Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Party from 1954-64. She had also been active in a number of health organisations in her lifetime, including being a member of the North West Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board from 1954–66, Chair of The Queen’s Institute of District Nursing from 1961–71 and the North London Hospital Management Committee from 1963-66. Babs knew about Dafydd and the gang and a great deal more.

In 1964, Babs was made a life peer as Baroness Brooke of Ystradfellte. See previous posts for details of the many roles and activities in which Babs helped Dafydd and the gang out.

Lord Henry Brooke of Cumnor died in 1984, aged 80. One biographer has written of him: “He was a quiet, friendly, honest and steadfast man, who was regarded by his detractors as a cruel, deceitful, ogre. His gentle, affectionate memoir of his father Leslie Brooke and Johnny Crow (1982) belies the public’s view of him”.

The dreadful Babs died in September 2000, aged 92. She clung onto life until the Waterhouse Report had been safely published and the cover-up completed.

Here is Babs and she’s not going to listen to any nonsense about that nice Dr Jones, who has been very good to those boys, no-one else would have bothered with them:

Whether Gentle Henry and Babs were any relation of Professor Oliver Brooke, the paedophile paediatrician at St George’s Hospital Medical School who was rescued from prison in the summer of 1987 by Lord Chief Justice Geoffrey Lane himself, I do not know. But Henry and Babs did have four children:

  • Peter Leonard Brooke, later the Lord Brooke of Sutton Mandeville, who was the Tory MP for the Cities of London and Westminster, 1977-2001 and served in the Cabinet under Thatch and John Major. Among other posts, Brooke was Chairman of the Conservative Party, 3 July 1987 – 24 July 1989 and Secretary of State for N Ireland, 24 July 1989 – 10 April 1992. Brooke did of course conceal the crimes of Dafydd et al and the rest of the Westminster Paedophile Ring. See previous posts for the full lowdown on Brooke.
  • Sir Henry Brooke, (died 2018), a judge and Lord Justice of Appeal. Sir Henry was a member of Inner Temple, as was Lord Elizabeth Butler-Sloss, who concealed the extent of the crimes of Dafydd and the gang’s associates in Cleveland (see post ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas And The Culprits Were Named’) and was the sister of Lord Michael Havers, who was Attorney General under Thatch and actively blocked the prosecution of ‘VIP’ paedophiles, including the diplomat Sir Peter Hayman. Sir Simon Hughes, who went to school in Brecon, qualified as a barrister and spent many happy years as the Lib Dem MP for Bermondsey ignoring the trafficking of numerous children by Southwark Borough Council to children’s homes in north Wales over years, was a member of Inner Temple. Southwark was on the doorstep of the Maudsley, which was full of Dafydd’s mates who were covering up for the gang in north Wales. One of those was Dr Jim Birley, who also established community programmes for psych patients in Southwark. Birley was mates with Lord David Ennals, who for years was a leading light in MIND while Dafydd was involved with that organisation. Ennals also concealed the crimes of Dafydd et al when he was a Minister in the Home Office, a Minister in the DHSS and as Secretary of State for the DHSS. Ennals’ brother Martin was Secretary-General of Amnesty International and had links to numerous people who colluded with Dafydd, as does David Ennals son Sir Paul Ennals. See previous posts eg. ‘The Battle For the Labour Party’s Soul’.

On 3 December 1957, Macmillan’s Cabinet agreed to appoint a Minister of State for Welsh Affairs and to develop further measures of administrative devolution. Vivian Lewis was appointed Minister of State for Welsh Affairs on 12 December 1957 and he was created a hereditary peer as Baron Brecon of Llanfeugan, Brecknock, on 30 January 1958.

With Beata Brooke’s mate Vivian Lewis as Minister of State to the Cabinet Minister with responsibility for Welsh Affairs and Lewis in the Lords as well, I imagine that it was party time.

Brace yourself this Party season with a Healthy Party ...

The astonishment which greeted the appointment was recorded by ‘The Economist’: “How an obscure Brecon County Councillor, visiting London (in his tweed suit) for the University Rugger match, was called to Downing Street to be made a baron and a Minister of State, represents one of the most curious political appointments since Caligula made his horse a consul. Mr. Lewis, the gentleman concerned, has shown engaging frankness about the unexpectedness of his appointment; he owes it, of course, to the fact that he combines some Welsh mystique, and probably the organising ability that often accompanies that mystique, with the very rare attribute of also voting Conservative.”

I can’t see much wrong with wearing a tweed suit, that’s a matter of personal choice and as the old gits on ‘The Economist’ knew, people of that era in rural areas always wore a tweed suit if they were dressing up in their best, no-one’s going to bother with a top hat and tails in Brecon. Had those on ‘The Economist’ spent less time sneering at the bumpkins and more time doing their jobs, they’d have known that the man from Brecon in a tweed suit had been given a peerage because he was a member of the gwerin’s trafficking ring which supplied Welsh wenches (and Welsh boys) to the Royals, Gentry and Gov’t Ministers of England and furthermore he knew where the bodies were buried.

Besides Vivian Lewis’s obscurity, the other objections against the new Minister were that his role was imprecise and that he lacked executive power. He was to assist Henry Brooke in bringing forward specific devolution of tasks from central Gov’t and he was to be based in Cardiff. The appointment did not satisfy the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire which produced a further report on 18 April 1958; in a tart reply, the PM commented “Nor do I share the view of the panel – indeed, it would surprise me to learn that the people of Wales generally shared it – that the new post of Minister of State for Welsh Affairs occupied by Lord Brecon is valueless to Wales”.

Indeed, the sex workers of Wales had never had it so good. There were excellent opportunities for them in England.

Bob Boothby was a Tory politician who had an affair with Harold Macmillan’s wife, Dorothy. Bob Boothby had affairs with a great many other people as well and utilised the services of rent boys. Boothby was friends with Ronnie and Reggie Kray.

The risks were high for the sex workers in the event of exposure, as Christine Keeler discovered. In the wake of the Profumo Affair, Christine was the only person who went to prison. She was 19, had been sexually assaulted by her mother’s male friends when she was 15 and when she was 17 had given birth to a baby who had lived only days. Shortly before the media explosion, Christine had gone into hiding because she was so frightened of one of the men who was an associate of the criminal gang who had introduced her to the Cliveden set. She was also attacked at home. Keeler later pleaded guilty to charges of perjury before Sir Anthony Hawke, the Recorder of London and in December 1963 was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment. Hawke was a member of Middle Temple, as was Ronnie Waterhouse. Hawke didn’t die until 1964, so Ronnie will have known him. The Home Secretary when Christine was jailed was one Henry Brooke.

The other casualty of the Profumo Affair was Stephen Ward, an osteopath who really was screwed over by those who had asked him to provide them with young women. The official story is that Ward killed himself, but he was certainly helped on his way in that endeavour by some Top Docs. See previous posts.

Jack Profumo took a great deal of flak and was on the receiving end of a lot of How Very Dare Yous, but he subsequently rehabilitated himself by spending many years Working For The Poor Of The East End as a result of his involvement with Toynbee Hall. With which more than a few paedophiles’ friends were involved. By the time that Jack Profumo was doing his charidee work dahn in the East End, Dafydd’s gang were operating in the area.

‘The Guardian’ never published a word about any of it, although they assisted Dafydd’s gang when the gang was in need of help in the early 1990s by publishing fallacious allegations about a Bangor University sociologist who had spilt the pints of the gwerin.

Strange but true

Polly famously joined the Gang of Four in the SDP and Poll stood unsuccessfully for election as an SDP candidate. Dr Death knew some of the Top Doctors in north Wales who were involved with Dafydd’s gang and every member of the Gang Of Four knew about the serious criminality with which Dafydd et al were involved. See post ‘We’ve Been Expecting You…’

The Lord Boothby

In his first month in Ministerial office, Lord Brecon had visited north Wales three times; on the third occasion, he undertook an analysis of the problems facing the slate quarrying industry and on the same day found himself both 1000 ft up a mountain as he toured the Dinorwic Quarry and 1000 ft underground at the Oakley Quarry in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

After all, Lord Brecon’s family business Owned Quarrymen.

Within a few months of his appointment, Lord Brecon was involved in the establishment of the Development Corporation for Wales, which was launched by Lord Brecon and Sir Miles Thomas, the Corporation’s Chairman, on 17 September 1958. The corporation was an organization of Welsh industrialists, ‘free from Gov’t control and finance’. These activities reflected Brecon’s background in industry and led to little comment. Why are we not surprised? When Lord Brecon was appointed, he agreed, in answer to public criticism, that he did not speak Welsh but understood a certain amount. He promised that he would take steps to ensure that he was more confident in his knowledge of the language.

Lord Brecon’s appointment was made against the background of the controversy over the Secretary of State, which led to a number of resignations from the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire and the ensuing emasculation of that body and of the very bitter controversy over Tryweryn. In view of this, it is surprising that he did not anticipate the controversy that would arise over the appointment of another member of the gwerin, Mrs Rachel Jones, as the BBC’s Welsh Governor.

Rachel Jones was the wife of the Dean of Brecon and she had spent a number of years in Australia where her husband held positions in Perth; she had little knowledge of Welsh affairs or the Welsh language. The Dean of Brecon and his wife were close friends of Lord and Lady Brecon. There was a great public row over the appointment, which gave both Brooke and Brecon a very uncomfortable time; a joke reported that the BBC now stood for Brooke, Brecon Club. Mrs Jones also bagged the job of Chairman of the Broadcasting Council for Wales.

Lord Brecon served as Minister of State to Ministers for Welsh Affairs Henry Brooke 1957-1961; briefly to Charles Hill 1961-62; and to Sir Keith Joseph, 1962-64.

Lord Charles Hill was the Lord Haw-Haw of Top Doctors. Charles Hill was born in Islington and was educated at St Olave’s Grammar School in Southwark. He won a scholarship to Trinity College, Cambridge and continued his medical studies at the London Hospital. Hill became Deputy Medical Officer of Oxford in 1930. He became Assistant Secretary of the BMA from 1932 and was Secretary, 1944-50.

During WW II, Charles Hill served as the “Radio Doctor” became part of the Ministry of Food’s programme, “Kitchen Front”, every morning from 1942. This was a disguise for propaganda on behalf of the Gov’t.

Hill was the BMA’s Secretary when the NHS was introduced in 1948. He was one of the Top Docs who held Nye Bevan over a barrel and ensured that GPs did not simply become salaried employees.

Hill was elected as the Conservative and National Liberal MP for Luton in 1950. Hill was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food in 1951. He became the Postmaster-General (a non-Cabinet Ministerial position with responsibilities that included broadcasting) in 1955; during his period in office Hill publicly berated the BBC for its reporting of the Suez Crisis. In May 1956, Hill attempted to formalise the existing agreement by which discussions or statements about matters before Parliament could not be broadcast in the fortnight preceding any debate (the ‘fourteen-day rule’). However, the Suez Crisis rendered this policy unworkable in practice and the government agreed to its suspension at the end of the year. Hill, who had been uneasy about the implications of the rule for freedom of expression, was relieved.

From 1957 to 1961, Hill was Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and from 1961 he was Minister of Housing and Local Gov’t and Welsh Affairs but he lost his place in the Cabinet in the ‘Night Of The Long Knives’ reshuffle in 1962.

Hill was appointed as the Chairman of the ITA in 1963, where he continued his hostile attitude towards the BBC. He was created a life peer in 1963. In 1967, Hill announced that all the ITV contracts were all to be re-advertised, because he was concerned about the large profits being made by the major companies and their lack of regional identity. This resulted in a radical reorganisation of the ITV network.

Hill succeeded Lord Normanbrook  as the Chairman of the BBC Governors, 1967–1972, having been appointed by PM Harold Wilson, to “sort out” the Corporation. His appointment as BBC Chairman surprised the BBC’s Governors and several resigned. Wilson encouraged Lord Hill to be active in Editorial decisions. Hill had a difficult relationship with the DG of the BBC, Hugh Greene and he eventually forced Greene to resign in 1969. Greene later described Hill as a “vulgarian”. He had a quieter relationship with Greene’s successor, Charles Curran. Hill retired from the BBC in 1972 and died in 1989, aged 85.

Hill married Marion Spencer Wallace, with whom he had two sons and three daughters. See previous posts for more information on Charles Hill.

Harold Wilson was well aware of the Westminster Paedophile Ring and the role that Dafydd et al were playing in it. Wilson also knew that George Thomas was a child molester but Thomas was a real crowd puller for the Labour Party in south Wales, so Wilson remained on excellent terms with him and used to lead his election campaigns with Thomas in south Wales. Wilson utilised the Top Doctors to the maximum in concealing the Westminster Paedophile Ring, he knew that they were the key to keeping the lid on it.

Keith Joseph also concealed the Westminster Paedophile Ring. Joseph’s seat was in Leeds at Jimmy Savile HQ and he knew that there were strong links between the gang in Yorkshire and Dafydd’s gang in north Wales. When Joseph’s was in the DHSS in Heath’s Cabinet, he appointed as his adviser Barbara Kahan, a senior social worker who had concealed abuse in Oxfordshire and in other regions before that.

Lord Brecon remained in the Gov’t when Sir Alec Douglas-Home became PM in 1963. With Keith Joseph’s assistance, Lord Brecon promoted, with a view to the investiture of the Birthday Boy the Prince of Wales, the appointment of Major Francis Jones as Wales Herald Extraordinary.

When he left office in 1964, Lord Brecon resumed a directorship with Television Wales and West Ltd. Lord Wyn Roberts who spent years as a Minister in the Welsh Office covering up Dafydd’s doings, was the son of a Nonconformist Minister and Wyn spent his early career as a journo with TV stations covering Wales and the West Country. See post ‘The Cradle Of Filth’.

Lord Brecon joined the board of Powell Duffryn, which had purchased his family’s firms in January 1964 and took on other company appointments. Lord Elwyn-Jones’s brother Idris Jones worked as Research Manager for Powell Duffryn. Idris was also a rugby enthusiast. While at college Idris was captain of the rugby team at Aberystwyth and a member of Cambridge University Rugby XV. He played flanker for London-Welsh and Llanelli Rugby Clubs and also for the Barbarians. He played for Wales against England, France, Ireland and Scotland and was captain on one occasion. Idris was a prominent active member of Welsh societies in London and was Vice-President of University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, 1963-71. Idris Jones died in 1971, a Bachelor who had not been blessed with children. See post ‘Lest We Forget’ for more gen on Idris.

Lord Brecon was one of the four Assistant Commissioners for Wales, appointed on 9 September 1969 to assist the Commission on the Constitution in the examination of regional problems. From December 1972 to the summer of 1973, Lord Brecon was nominated to the Conservative delegation to the European Parliament where he was placed on the Economic and Transport Committees. In the European Parliament, he raised questions on Welsh matters.

Lord Brecon was Chairman of the Welsh National Water Development Authority from 1973 to his death, a period which included the very dry summer of 1976. In this role, he relied heavily on the Authority’s officials.

The gwerin who assist Dafydd and the gang are strangely attracted to the water industry. T.M . Hadyn Rees, a friend of Ronnie Waterhouse and the man who was the Chief Exec of Clwyd County Council while if anything the abuse of children in care of Clwyd was even worse than it was in Gwynedd, was Chairman of the Welsh Water Authority, 1977-82. Hadyn Rees was a member of the Severn Barrage Committee, 1978-81 and a member of the National Water Council, 1977-82. Ann Beynon, another member of the gwerin who is a UCNW graduate and sat on the Council of UCNW for years, is Senior Advisor for Welsh Affairs for Severn Trent Water. Ann Beynon was previously BT’s Director for Wales. As a student Ann was a leader of NUS Wales and established a Gay Branch in NUS Wales. Ann is married to Leighton Andrews, who is a former AM and served as the Welsh Gov’ts Education Minister.

Lord Brecon aka Vivian Lewis was a man of energy ‘with a strong sense of public duty’. He married Mabel Helen, the daughter of John McColville of Abergavenny, on 19 April 1933; they had two daughters. He died at his home, Greenhill, Cross Oak, Brecon on 10 October 1976 and his barony became extinct.

Lord Brecon’s funeral service was held at Llanfeugan Church. His memorial service was attended by John Morris, the Secretary of State for Wales and by leading figures in the public life of Wales and in the Conservative Party was held at Brecon Cathedral on 23 October 1976.

Lord John Morris has been one of the bestest friends to Dafydd and the gang that they could have ever asked for. Morris is an Aber and Cambridge graduate who worked as a barrister on the corrupt Chester and Wales Circuit. Morris was a member of Gray’s Inn, as was Dafydd’s big umbrella Sir William Mars-Jones, a friend and senior Chambers colleagues of Ronnie Waterhouse. John Morris was Labour MP for Aberavon, 1959-2001 and Secretary of State for Wales, 1974-79, under Wilson and then Callaghan. Morris is such a useful member of the gwerin that when Miranda became PM, he got Morris out of mothballs and appointed him Attorney General for England and Wales and for N Ireland, 1997-99. While the Waterhouse Inquiry took place…

Lord Morris was President of the London Welsh Trust, which runs the London Welsh Centre, Gray’s Inn Road, 2001-08. He is also a Council member of HRH Carlo’s initiative The Prince’s Trust.

You get to dress up in some impressive gear when you’re a member of the gwerin:

Lady Brecon (8 May 1910 – 4 September 2005) was active in the public life of Breconshire. She followed her husband as a member of the Brecon Rural District Council and was both a Justice of the Peace and a High Sheriff in the county. Lady Brecon was appointed C.B.E. in 1964 for political and public services in Wales.

Lord and Lady Brecon had a daughter who was a member of the gwerin who married another member of the gwerin, whom I shall blog about soon…

Now here’s something interesting. When Carlo attended a special ceremony at Bangor University some years ago, the gwerin seemed to believe that Carlo was going to Bangor to depose Merfyn, the VC. I don’t know why the gwerin had drawn this conclusion but they most definitely had and that was why some of the gwerin turned up to the ceremony. A member of the gwerin was good enough to tell me that ‘if Merfyn Jones’s blood is going to be on the carpet, I want to be there to see it’. This member of the gwerin was a member of the Council of Revolutionaries who had been meeting regularly with Professor Eric Sunderland – a previous Principal of UCNW and a well-camouflaged paedophiles’ friend himself who had saved the gang’s bacon on many occasions – and were imploring Eric to Get Rid Of Merfyn. I attended the ceremony too, not because I wanted to see Carlo do anything untoward to Merfyn but because Events at Bangor University were sufficiently entertaining to usually be worth attending, the gwerin could always be relied upon to provide the Cabaret. They’d have probably burst into a rendering of ‘Tomorrow Belongs To Me’ if they thought that they could have got away with it.

Tomorrow belongs to me Cabaret - YouTube

However, there was no blood on the carpet at or indeed after the ceremony. Merfyn made a nice speech about the architecture of Top College and didn’t say anything to Carlo like ‘is it true that you murdered your wife?’ or ‘why did you tell Alison Taylor that you couldn’t get involved when she wrote to you in the late 1980s and told you that children in care in north Wales were being horrifically abused?’ or even ‘why did the whole damn lot of you go after Sally Baker and her friends when she and Brown complained about Gwynne the lobotomist who was employed in UNCW for years while you were Chancellor?’

The gwerin departed disappointed. Interestingly enough, the member of the gwerin who told everyone that he had turned up in the hope of seeing Merfyn’s blood on the carpet had told everyone for years that as a young man Carlo had been ‘AC/DC’ and that this was widely known. HOW anyone without first hand experience would ever have known I don’t know, but there you are Carlo, that’s what was being said. The member of the gwerin in question knew a great deal about Dafydd’s gang because his father had been a Top Doctor at the C&A Hospital in Bangor and had helped facilitate it.

That is a fact and a very interesting one.

There is something that Merfyn could have asked Carlo though. He could have asked him why on earth the person who was chosen to carry out the inquests on Di and Dodi, Sir Thomas Scott Gillespie Baker, had never carried out an inquest before in his life and had a particularly strong and sordid link to Dafydd’s gang, precisely his role in the Susan Brooke case.

In 1995, a woman called Susan Brooke hit the headlines. Susan Brooke had abducted a new baby from Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The baby was discovered after 20 hours and the case never gained the UK-wide media attention that other cases of abduction of newborns gained during the late 80s/90s. In most of those cases, women who had abducted babies were given probation or were detained under the Mental Health Act. There was also a growing body of research suggesting that women who abducted new babies did not fit the profiles of ‘thieves’, but were often deeply distressed, had lost babies themselves through miscarriage, stillbirth or cot death and that treating them as wilful criminals was cruel and unproductive. There had been a TV documentary screened in the late 80s that explored the whole syndrome and featured a young woman who had I think miscarried, attempted suicide and then taken a baby from a maternity ward. She had been imprisoned by a judge who told her that she was a ‘wicked woman’. The case caused a furore and various practitioners were wheeled out to explain that this was a serious misjudgement. It was at this point that women who abducted babies began to be treated more humanely.

But not if they lived in north Wales. When Susan Brooke was discovered with the baby, she broke down, becoming incredibly distressed and stating that she only took the baby because she was frightened that her husband was going to leave her. It transpired that she had been in a mess for quite sometime, had been sterilised after having three children but had for some reason faked another pregnancy. It was claimed in Court that she had ‘duped’ her husband with a ‘fantasy pregnancy’ for 14 months no less, who had then demanded that she produce a baby or he would ‘drag’ her up to the hospital himself. At this point she stole the newborn.

The trial of Susan Brooke took place at Chester Crown Court. The Chester Crown Court where I faced trial on charges of numerous breaches of an injunction – which had itself been acquired on the basis of perjury – when Gwynedd Social Services attempted to imprison me. See post ‘Some Big Legal Names Enter The Arena’. That happened to me in Chester Crown Court in 1990. My documents demonstrate that Gwynedd Social Services then worked very hard behind the scenes for the next few years to take me back to Court for more alleged breaches of the injunction. So something was going very wrong in Chester Crown Court, indeed on the whole Chester and Wales Circuit. Susan Brooke faced trial in 1995.

Sir Thomas Scott Baker presided over Susan Brooke’s trial. After Brooke pleaded guilty to child abduction and bigamy (it was revealed that she had remarried whilst still married to her previous husband), Scott Baker jailed her for three years. It was reported that he said at the trial: ‘You are an accomplished, manipulative and determined liar and somehow succeeded in persuading those close to you that first you were pregnant and then had given birth. I am satisfied that you planned the abduction of this child with some care. You are not mentally ill. You bear complete responsibility for what you did and what you did was both cruel and wicked’.

So who was Scott Baker relying upon for ‘evidence’ as to whether Susan Brooke was mentally ill or was a lying cow who had deceived the world? None other than dear old Bryn Golau ward at Denbigh – that was where she had been sent for ‘assessment’ after her arrest. That’s the same Bryn Golau ward where I had been illegally held and assaulted by staff, where I had encountered a young woman who had been abducted and sexually assaulted by a number of men but had been taken to Bryn Golau rather than being given access to the police (see post ‘The Distressed Young Woman Who Vanished’) and the same Bryn Golau ward where staff lied about patients’ actions repeatedly in the wake of which untruthful psychiatric reports for Courts were produced. And where no complaints, no matter how serious, were ever investigated. Only Bryn Golau could have asked no questions about the mental state of a woman who had faked a pregnancy whilst she was bigamously married to a man who had demanded a baby and who had subsequently stolen one. Only Bryn Golau could have asked no questions about a husband who claimed to have been ‘duped’ by a woman with a fantasy pregnancy for 14 months – 14 months, how long did that man believe that pregnancy in humans lasts?? And how on earth was this husband ‘duped’ – didn’t he ever notice the cushion stuffed up her jumper or whatever wheeze that she was alleged to be utilising in order to fake a pregnancy? Only Bryn Golau could have asked no questions about a husband who sounded very intimidating who ordered his wife to produce a baby after her 14 month pregnancy. And only a judge on the Chester and Wales Circuit would have swallowed this load of cobblers and constructed Susan Brooke as a master criminal.

Other information provided about Susan Brooke suggested that she had probably been in the clutches of the child care and/or mental health services herself in north Wales before she got around to a rather hopeless attempt at abducting a baby.

Scott Baker also became notorious after he ordered that a mentally ill woman ‘with the mind of a child’ should be sterilised against her will – I wonder if that was based on another ‘assessment’ produced by Dafydd and the gang.

According to an article in the Torygraph, Scott Baker was chosen as the coroner for Di and Dodi’s inquest because it was felt that he was one of the few who could take on Michael Mansfield QC, who was acting for Mohammed Fayed. There is only one reason why Scott Baker could have had the upper hand on Mansfield. It was because Mansfield too knew what Dafydd and the gang were doing in north Wales and Scott Baker knew that Mansfield knew. Everyone else knew as well, but Michael Mansfield QC is the man with the reputation of taking on state corruption and abuse no matter how serious. After all, Michael Mansfield represented the Price Sisters on charges of terrorism when his own car had been blown apart by the bomb that they planted. But Michael Mansfield did nothing at all when I wrote to him in 1993 about Gwynedd Social Services, beyond sending me a reply thanking me for my letter. Neither did Mansfield mention that Risley Remand Centre’s medical wing was full of kids from care and psych patients from north Wales who were victims of Dafydd’s gang when Mansfield represented the inmates of Risley who had been charged with very serious offences when they held a riot in 1989…

For the full horror of the Susan Brooke case, see posts ‘So Who’s Path Had Susan Brooke Crossed?’, ‘More On The Susan Brooke Case’ and ‘ Update On Cases Of Susan Brooke And Sara Thornton’.

Sir Thomas Scott Baker is correctly referred to in English legal writing as Scott Baker, distinguishing him from his father, Sir George Baker, a former High Court judge who was President of the Family Division, 1971-79. One of his brothers, His Honour Judge Michael Baker, QC, was the Resident Judge at St Alban’s Crown Court.

Scott Baker was educated at Haileybury and Imperial Service College and studied at Brasenose College, Oxford. He was a member of Chorleywood Urban District Council, 1964-67. He married (Margaret) Joy Baker in February 1973. They had 2 sons and one 1 daughter together.

Scott Baker was called to the Bar at the Middle Temple in 1961 and practised in a range of legal areas, including family, finance cases and professional negligence. He knew Ronnie Waterhouse who was a member of Middle Temple and heard family cases.

Scott Baker became a Recorder in 1976, and was appointed a QC in 1978. He became a Bencher at Middle Temple in 1985. Ronnie was a Bencher and Treasurer of Middle Temple. Scott Baker was a member of the Warnock Committee, 1982-84, Chaired by Mary Warnock, none of whom had any idea of what Top Doctors were getting up to in fertility clinics. The Warnock Committee’s Inquiry led to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990. Which did not curb the excesses of the Top Doctors.

Scott Baker was appointed as a High Court judge in 1988 (and was styled Mr Justice Scott Baker) and allocated to the Family Division. He moved to the Queen’s Bench Division in 1993. He was Presiding Judge of the endemically corrupt Wales and Chester Circuit, from 1991-95, when members of the gang were repeatedly perjuring themselves in attempts to have me imprisoned. See eg. post ‘Some Big Legal Names Enter The Arena’.

Scott Baker was a member of the Parole Board, 1999-2002. Professor Robert Bluglass and Drs Colin Berry and David Mawson, all of whom lied to conceal the crimes of Dafydd and the gang, also sat on the Parole Board. Scott Baker was the Lead Judge of the Administrative Court, 2000-02. In 1999, he presided over the trial of Great Western Trains following the Southall rail crash in 1997. He dismissed charges of corporate manslaughter as there was no identifiable individual in the company who was also guilty of gross negligence, but levied a then-record fine for health and safety offences of £1.5m. Scott Thomas’s judgement was upheld on appeal. The same year, Scott Baker presided at the trial of Jonathan Aitken on charges of perjury following the collapse of Aitken’s libel suit against ‘The Guardian’.

Scott Baker was promoted in 2002, becoming a Lord Justice of Appeal. He was Treasurer of Middle Temple, in 2004.

In March 2011, Scott Baker was sworn in as a Justice of the Court of Appeal of Bermuda.

Scott Baker’s dad Sir George Gillespie Baker, (25 April 1910 – 13 June 1984) was President of the Family Division (formerly of the Probate, Divorce and Admiralty Division) of the High Court of Justice, 1971-79 and a Judge in the Division, 1961-1979.

Sir George served as Assistant Adjutant General on the British War Crimes Executive at the Nuremberg Trials, 1945-46, where he worked with and knew Lord Elwyn-Jones, someone else who spent years facilitating the crimes of Dafydd and the gang (see post ‘Lest We Forget’).

George Gillespie Baker was educated at Glasgow Academy; Strathallan School, Perthsire and Brasenose College, Oxford, where he later became an Honorary Fellow. He was called to the Bar received by Middle Temple in 1932 and would in later life become Treasurer of the Middle Temple in 1976. So he knew Ronnie Waterhouse as well. At the beginning of WW II Baker joined the Army and after a brief spell in the Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment he was commissioned in The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) in 1940.

Baker served as Deputy Assistant Adjutant General at the War Office, 1941-42; Assistant Adjutant General with the Allied Force HQ, 1942-44, Colonel ‘A’ 15th Army Group, 1945 and Assistant Adjutant General on the British War Crimes Executive at the Nuremberg Trials, 1945-1946. After the war Baker resumed his career at the Bar, mostly on the then Oxford Circuit. He was Recorder of Bridgnorth, 1946-51, Smethwick, 1951-192 and Wolverhampton, 1952-61. He was appointed a QC in 1952 and served as Deputy Chairman of the Shropshire Quarter Sessions, 1954-71. Lord Kenyon who did so many favours for Dafydd’s gang was based in Shropshire, served as a JP and knew Sir George. Sir George was Leader of the Oxford Circuit for seven years until his promotion to a High Court Judge in 1961. There was long-standing organised abuse of children in Oxfordshire which was concealed by, among other people, Barbara Kahan and her husband, Top Doctor Vladimir Kahan. The Barbara Kahan who was appointed as an adviser to Sir Keith Joseph when Joseph served as Secretary of State for the DHSS in Ted Heath’s Gov’t. Keith Joseph also knew that UCNW was facilitating the Westminster Paedophile Ring…

Which might be why Thatch appointed Joseph as Secretary of State for Education and Science, 1981-86, while the Tories implemented big spending cuts on universities, including on UCNW. UCNW experienced a huge cut in its budget in 1981 and another one was promised, but the Tories backed off when one of the gwerin reminded a few people in Gov’t that the place was facilitating the paedophile ring which was delivering small boys to Sir Peter Morrison for him to hold sex parties with. Morrison was the Tory MP for Chester and his sister was Dame Mary Morrison, Women-of-the-Bedchamber to Carlo’s mum Lilibet. The President of Morrison’s Constituency Party Association was Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, a close friend of Carlo’s.

Sir Thomas Scott Baker’s ‘deep personal integrity was founded on his staunch Presbyterian faith’. A great number of Presbytarians assisted Dafydd and the gang, they received excellent service from Presbytarians.

Sir Thomas Scott Baker is still alive, so perhaps he could explain why he decided that after a few years as a Lord Justice of Appeal that he fancied having a go as a coroner after Di and Dodi were killed. I’d like him to shed a bit of light on the extraordinary case of Susan Brooke as well, because it stank.
