They Are MYRIAD, They Are Legion

My post ‘Interesting Facts’ detailed the skulduggery involved in the construction of the cardiac surgeon Professor Hugh Bentall and his team from Hammersmith Hospital/Royal Postgraduate Medical School as world leaders in their field. There was one member of Hugh Bentall’s team whose background I did not detail in that post – Arthur Hollman. Like many of those involved with the invention of all the excellence at Hammersmith, Hollman worked for the security services.

Arthur Hollman was an ’eminent’ – not for one minute a ‘mediocre’ or ‘dishonest’ – cardiologist, medical historian and plantsman. He was born above his parent’s stationery shop in Daventry, Northamptonshire. Hollman was educated at Tiffin Boys’ School in Kingston-upon-Thames. Hollman’s partner in crime at Hammersmith, Hugh Bentall, had a father who just happened to own Bentall’s, the upmarket department store in Kingston-upon-Thames. The Bentall family virtually ran Kingston-upon-Thames. Hollman went on to study medicine at UCH Medical School, thanks to a scholarship from his father’s firm, W.H. Smith.

After junior posts at UCH and Horton General Hospital at Banbury, Hollman worked in the rheumatic fever unit at the Canadian Red Cross Memorial Hospital, Taplow, under the British cardiologist Paul Wood. In 1949, at Taplow, Arthur Hollman carried out unsupervised right heart catheters to study cardiac output in rheumatic carditis in convalescent children. That sounds familiar – junior doctor let loose on child patients without any mentoring, but his boss is a Big Name, so no-one will have asked any questions. Hollman then did postgraduate work in cardiology in Montreal and Toronto, 1951-52. On his return to the UK, Hollman was a registrar at UCH and Paul Wood’s clinical assistant at the National Heart Hospital in London.

Between 1957-62, Hollman was a senior registrar to J F Goodwin in the Dept of John McMichael at RPMS, Hammersmith, where Hollman worked closely with the surgical team, whose work was discussed in my post ‘Interesting Facts’. In 1957 the heart-lung machine designed by Professor Denis Melrose came into clinical use and Hollman joined the heart team. Hollman was a member of the Hammersmith cardiac surgery team who in 1959 went to Moscow to demonstrate the use of the Melrose machine. See post ‘Interesting Facts’. A photo of Hollman and the team appeared on the front page of ‘Pravda’. In 1960 Hollman pioneered left heart catheterisation with Robert Steiner.

In 1962, Arthur Hollman became a consultant cardiologist at UCH; in 1971 his consultant role was expanded to include Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. Later Hollman became an honorary consultant at Conquest Hospital in Hastings.

Hollman treated patients and taught at University College and Great Ormond Street hospitals until 1987. Audrey Callaghan, wife of James Callaghan, served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of GOSH, 1968-72 and then as Chairman of the Special Trustees, 1983-90. Audrey and Jim Callaghan knowingly concealed and colluded with Leo Abse to conceal the crimes of Dafydd and the paedophiles and played an active role in the expansion of children’s homes in north Wales in which children were abused and then trafficked (see post ‘Cry, The Beloved Country’).

Dear old Uncle Jimmy was a regular at GOSH. ‘We didn’t know.’ Audrey and Jim Callaghan definitely did.

Jimmy Savile scandal: How Savile even preyed on dying ...

Arthur Hollman was a senior lecturer at UCL and also served as the visiting cardiologist to the Gov’ts of the Seychelles, 1970-86 and Mauritius, 1966-72.

In the early 1970s Hollman led, and won, a campaign against an EC directive that blood pressure should be measured in kilopascals and not in millimetres of mercury.

Hollman continued teaching King’s and Brighton students in Hastings until 2013, when he was 89. Arthur Hollman had a lifelong interest in medical history. So he will have been au fait with the cock-ups, the frauds and the wrongdoing of many of those who taught him and with whom he worked. The really great thing about having an interest in the history of medicine if one is a Top Doctor is that one can very carefully write the history in such a way that it doesn’t implicate one or one’s colleagues should one expect to come under scrutiny in the near future. Thus the versions of the history of psychiatry in north Wales which were written by the paedophiles’ friends in the 1990s when investigations into the abuse of children in the region began (see post ‘More Alan Bennett’).

Hollman was President of the Osler Club of London in 1983. The Osler Club of London is a society founded in 1928 to encourage the study of the history of medicine and to keep ‘green the memory of Sir William Osler’. That memory will have been kept green as well. CRASH! Another witness dead. You won’t find that in anything produced by the green memories of members of the Osler Club. Membership of the Osler Club is open to medical men and women, medical students and persons associated with the history of medicine and in allied sciences. Perhaps I’ll apply to join.

It was a real laugh when the paedophiles’ friends of north Wales all started turning into historians of medicine in the 1990s, some of the ‘Pravda’ extracts even found their way onto the TV. There is an archive clip of Dafydd being interviewed stressing that there is ‘no stigma’ attached to psychiatric patients any longer, that was all back in the Dark Ages.

‘You do realise that you’re suffering from manic-depressive insanity’. ‘And Professor Bluglass told me that he thought that she’d end in a ward for the criminally insane and I found that a chilling prediction’.

No stigma at all, all thanks to Dafydd and the Enlightenment.

Cesare Beccaria, father of classical criminal theory (1738–1794):
Dr Dafydd Alun Jones
Like other Enlightenment philosophers, Rousseau was critical of the Atlantic slave trade:
Dr Dafydd Alun Jones

The Osler Club was founded by a group of British gentlemen, considered part of a medical elite and pursuing the same ideals. They were following the ‘Oslerian legacy’ which was reflected in their activities. Osler was the ‘ideal British gentleman’ who showed concern, commitment and loyalty to both patients and colleagues. The first meeting of the Club was held on 30 April 1928 around the drawing room fireplace at 27 Wimpole Street, London. In attendance was Charles Singer, the Conservator of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum. The Club continued to meet at various venues, including the Medical Society of London, the Wellcome Institute, the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians. In 1949, the annual dinner was held at the Royal College of Surgeons. In 1957, the Club met at the Medical Society of London. A substantial bequest from the estate of the cardiologist Thomas Forrest Cotton enabled the Club to secure a permanent home at the Royal College of Physicians.

There are Osler Clubs in the US, Canada, Japan, Argentina and elsewhere in the world. The North Wales Osler Club meets in Dafydd’s sitting room and is funded by Gwynedd County Council.

Meetings of the Osler Club are carried out under Chatham House rules, whereby members are free to use anything heard at the meeting but are not allowed to reveal its source.

This thinks that it is an historical society.

Arthur Hollman wrote his first article for the Osler Club at the age of 21 on Sir William Osler and his last, on Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, at the age of 90 (‘The Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome: a very long follow-up’ Am J Cardiol 2014 May 15;113(10):1751-2).

Hollman sat on the Advisory Committee of the Chelsea Physic Garden as a representative of the Royal College of Physicians for 26 years. He was a livery member of the Society of Apothecaries.

Arthur Hollman’s interest in plants and medicine brought him the fellowship of the Linnean Society in 1985. He was curator of the physic garden at the Barbers’ Company of London. Hollman also tended the garden at Denys Lasdun’s then new Royal College of Physicians building in Regent’s Park, where in 1978 his new scheme linked its plants and trees with their medicinal uses.

Hollman was the first recipient of the President’s Medal from the Royal College of Physicians. He was Secretary of the British Cardiovascular Society from 1974-75 and then served as archivist from 1992-2013.

In 1949 Hollman married Catharine, a consultant in community paediatrics. They had four daughters and eight grandchildren.

In ‘retirement’ Hollman settled back to the family home in Pett near Rye in East Sussex and pursued his interests in botanic pharmacology and the history of medicine.

Hollman’s interest in botany probably means that he was linked to the paedophiles’ friends in the Dept of Plant Biology at UCNW, who were colluding with Dafydd and the gang (see post ‘Additional Security Measures’).

Dr Robert Gerber mentioned in an obituary that Hollman’s ‘family recall how he would warmly introduce them to leading inventors, academics and businessmen at professional gatherings, only to admit later that he had never previously met them.’

In 2000, Hollman, a keen swimmer, co-founded the so-called Neoteric Offshore Bathing Society at Pett Level beach, close to his home near Hastings.

Between 1991-01 Hollman published four books on plants in medicine and the history of cardiology, including a biography of Sir Thomas Lewis, the pioneer cardiologist – who had taught Hollman at UCL in the 1940s – which won the Society of Authors’ Prize for the best medical history book in 1997.

Arthur Hollman, as seen in ‘Pravda’:
Arthur Hollman: he appeared in Pravda

I have detailed how Professor Geoffrey Chamberlain and Malcolm Pearce were both involved in the now notorious research fraud which they perpetrated at St George’s in the 1990s, but only Malcolm was hauled up before the GMC and subsequently struck off (see post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’). Chamberlain was undoubtedly protected by his celebrity friends, including Sir George Pinker, the Royal gynaecologist (see post ‘Wimmin’s Wellbeing – The Fortnum And Mason Connection’). Malcolm was publicly disgraced and took the rap for everything. In the aftermath, everybody pretended that they had never met Malcolm Pearce, when in reality they’d all got pissed with him on a regular basis.
I only found out quite recently that after he was struck off, Malcolm worked as a clinical negligence expert. Although he seems to have done this below the radar, Malcolm’s disgrace was so public there will have been a great many people who knew who he was. However, I’m not surprised that Malcolm was provided with a safety net. He will have known about a great deal of the serious crime which was being concealed by St George’s, including that involving ‘VIPs’ and if he’d mouthed off about it a lot of people would have found themselves in a very difficult position. Particularly as by the time that Malcolm was struck off in June 1995, all hell had been unleashed in north Wales. Police investigations had taken place into the abuse of children and in spite of flat denials of the presence of a VIP paedophile ring which was being concealed by those at the pinnacle of society, people could not be reassured. It was during these years that the paedophiles’ friends of north Wales began their frantic construction of a region of literary giants (see post ‘Feet In Chains’) and musicians, both traditional and rock (see post ‘The International Language Of Screaming’). These years also saw paedophiles’ friends reinvent themselves as historians of psychiatry in north Wales, which resulted in some laughably rose-tinted accounts.
Two problems were solved the month after Malcolm was struck off, when Sir Peter Morrison and Bing Spear – the corrupt Home Office mandarin who did Dafydd so many favours with regard to allowing Dafydd to flog drugs (see post ‘Little Things Hitting Each Other’) – were found dead within days of each other.
When the scandal involving Malcolm Pearce blew up, I remember thinking that thank God I’d not completed a PhD with him, which was what I was supposed to have been doing when I was at St George’s. My PhD and any publications would have been for ever questioned. Although the Head of the Dept of Obs and Gynae at St George’s was Prof Chamberlain, my boss was Malcolm. This was mentioned on the documents written by Dr Nicky Mitchell-Heggs, the corrupt occupational health physician at St George’s, that I later managed to acquire. Chamberlain’s name wasn’t mentioned – I was described as being ‘a very bright research assistant working for Malcolm Pearce’, among all the allegations that Dafydd et al had made about me being the most dangerous person who had ever stalked the earth and how I’d nearly murdered them all in their beds.
When I realised how hard people in high places worked to destroy me and a few other witnesses to the crimes of Dafydd and the paedophiles in the early 1990s, I seriously wondered if Malcolm Pearce had come under attack for the same reason. Numerous people who dared befriend, support or even just employ me I now know were shafted by the paedophiles’ friends. Malcolm might have committed research fraud, but he was by no means the only person at St George’s – let alone in medical research per se – who was doing that. It is far more common than anyone admits.
Consider this. Because Malcolm had been my boss, whether I had completed a PhD with him or not, once he had been struck off for research fraud, anything that I had published in those days would have been blown apart by the paedophiles’ friends who would only have to mention who my most recent mentor and PhD supervisor had been…Meanwhile Malcolm was provided with a lucrative safety net lest he felt inclined to mention a few things himself as a public inquiry into events in north Wales was demanded and allegations flew that peers and Gov’t Ministers were involved in the abuse of children.
Up in north Wales, a group of not very bright paedophiles’ friends were constructed as intellectual giants. Not only were they discovering miracle cures – Prof Mark Williams with his Mindfulness (see post ‘The Biggest Expert Of The Lot’) and Dafydd with his PTSD (see post ‘Feet In Chains’) – but they suddenly all took an interest in writing the history of the North Wales Hospital Denbigh! My two friends who worked in the media and who had wanted to make a documentary about north Wales had been smeared and ruined, as had I and another friend from Bangor who was working in medical research. Another friend had been killed and there was an attempt to murder Brown…
I’ve discovered something else as well. During my time working in medical research, I was quite close friends with a number of medical students. I now know that they all left medicine before they qualified. None of them had academic difficulties, they were all very, very good. Neither was their conduct with patients ever questioned; there had never been concerns raised. Yet not one became a Top Doctor.
I watched two medical students forced out at St George’s, so I know how the process took place. I never understood exactly why the knives were out for these students, but they could probably have taken legal action against St George’s if they had known what was going on. Young staff were encouraged to have relationships with them and to find out personal information. The info was then relayed back to the authorities, even info of the most sensitive nature, such as their relationships with their parents or the state of their parents’ marriage or health. Furthermore their telephone calls were being monitored. It was completely unjustifiable. Neither of these students had been the subject of complaint – they were two sensitive young men, one of whom had recently lost his father. The gestapo were sent after them, completely without their knowledge, in order to gain any info that could be possibly used against them. Meanwhile Top Doctors had sex with researchers in labs during working hours and senior staff colluded with organised gangs of people traffickers.

After Geoffrey Chamberlain retired from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 2000, he took up a job teaching the history of medicine at Swansea University as an Apothecaries lecture, a post he retained until 2008. Whilst in that post, he wrote an obstetrics textbook, ‘From Witchcraft To Wisdom’.

Here’s the Witchfinder General himself:

Throughout all the criminality in north Wales and St George’s, the media churned out a constant diet of flattering portrayals of features of the Your Life In Their Hands genre, with the emphasis being on Top Docs Saving Lives and Caring Angels.

The Top Docs are acutely aware of the pulling power of these stereotypes. I mentioned in my post ‘Interesting Facts’ that one of the Top Doctors who worked at St George’s when I was there, Jonathan Frappell, has established his own obs and gynae medico-legal consultancy. Jonathan knew how serious the wrongdoing with which his colleagues were involved was. Jonathan’s website stresses his experience using suitably impressive medical jargon. Just to reassure everyone that he is Human and Caring as well, Jonathan mentions that his wife is a Nurse and that he has four grown up children. This is true, I remember Jonathan’s wife and his – then very young – children.

Everyone remembered Susan Frappell. Because she refused to speak to any doctors who were below the rank of registrar, what with Jonathan being a senior reg. Then Susan made history at a dinner by refusing to speak to the registrar sitting next to her when she found out that they lived in Brixton. The dinner was attended by a Top Doc with a brain who simply coped with ‘that stuck up airhead of a Bart’s nurse who married a doctor’ by pissing herself laughing every time that Susan Frappell opened her mouth.

A Caring Family Man Married To A Nurse! It’s a comfy image which conceals something rather different.

Somebody has drawn my attention to the research collaboration between Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore, Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL and Professor Mark Williams, the former colleague of Dafydd and the paedophiles who is behind the fraud that is Mindfulness (see post ‘The Biggest Expert Of The Lot’). Blakemore is one of the co-investigators of a Wellcome Trust funded project, MYRIAD, investigating ‘mindfulness and resilience in adolescence’. Her co-investigators are Prof Willem Kuyken, formerly of the shambles which is Exeter Medical School (see post ‘NHS Chief Executive Collapses In Court After Being Spared Jail’), Tim Dalgleish of the MRC and Mark Williams himself. I did already know about this piece of joint working. In a previous era it would have surprised me because neuroscientists really do not take people like Mark Williams seriously, but these days the only thing that counts is netting the dosh and a lot of it. Furthermore, as cross-disciplinary research is being very vigorously encouraged by Gov’t and funding bodies, if Sarah-Jayne wants the lucre, she’s got to work with people whom she will have most likely spent many years having a good laugh at.

Sarah-Jayne is of course the daughter of Sir Colin Blakemore, the neuroscientist who had to wait a long time for his knighthood because of his controversial animal experiments, most famously the sewing up of kittens eyes. Colin Blakemore was hated by anti-vivisectionists which was inevitable, but he was considered beyond the pale by a lot of people who were quite used to working with animals themselves. I met someone who’d worked with Colin Blakemore at Cambridge University when I worked at St George’s. He was a very extroverted chatty neurosurgeon from Atkinson Morley’s Hospital who spoke at length about Blakemore’s very questionable animal experiments. This man used to pop over to the Obs and Gynae Dept at St George’s quite regularly and chat to everyone. So as well as chatting to me, he chatted to all those who colluded with Dafydd et al and forced me out of my job.

What’s the betting that the corrupt jungle drums at the University of London being played by folk like Sir William Asscher and Lord Brian Flowers got together and gigged with the corrupt jungle drums of the University of Oxford played by Lord Chris Patten, which hosts Prof Mark Williams, as well as Prof Tom Burns? The Tom Burns who, when that neurosurgeon used to pop over to St George’s for a chat, worked at the Atkinson Morley’s? The Tom Burns who knew what Dafydd and the paedophiles were up to in north Wales?

Colin Blakemore has held numerous positions and has received many prestigious awards, but his later career has been at Oxford University and London University. Blakemore was Chief Exec of the MRC, 2003-07. In the Comprehensive Spending Review at the end of Blakemore’s term of office, the MRC budget increased by over one third over three years. Tony Blair’s Gov’t was most generous to the MRC whilst Blakemore was Chief Exec. At the time, there was a push for closer working between the DoH and the MRC. The DoH which had been so impressed with Mindfulness…

Oxford University found itself being particularly receptive to the miracle of Mindfulness whilst Chris Patten was Chancellor. Patten’s wife Lady Lavender was a Patron of Mark Williams’s Oxford Mindfulness Centre. Don’t bother to utter the phrase ‘conflict of interest’ yet, there’s much better to come. Patten was a member of Thatcher’s Gov’t whilst that Gov’t concealed the crimes of Mark Williams’s colleagues in north Wales. Roy Jenkins preceded Patten as Chancellor of Oxford. The Woy who concealed the crimes of Williams’s colleagues in north Wales for years and who acted as a mentor to Blair.

Sir Richard Southwood was VC of Oxford University, 1989-93. It was at that time that Mark Williams was pretending to have achieved great things by Mindfulness. Even when Williams was still at Bangor University he openly told colleagues that what he wanted was a Chair at Oxford. Southwood knew many paedophiles’ friends at Bangor (see post ‘The History, Boys…’). Before Mark Williams left for Oxford, he was a PVC at Bangor. This fraudster and colleague of a paedophile gang was helping to manage the institution.

Colin Blakemore has worked for SANE, the charidee founded and run by Marjorie Wallace, who concealed the crimes of Mark Williams’s colleagues in north Wales (see post ‘One Dangerous Fucker’).

Sarah-Jayne Blakemore was educated at Oxford High School and St John’s College, Oxford. She graduated from Oxford with a degree in psychology in 1996. So Sarah-Jayne will have been taught by her father’s colleagues and may well have known Mark Williams and Tom Burns when she was still an undergrad.

Sarah-Jayne completed her PhD at UCL in 2000. Her PhD supervisors were Prof Daniel Wolpert and Prof Chris Frith. Daniel Wolpert is the son of the biologist Prof Lewis Wolpert who was Professor of Developmental Biology  at UCL.

At a time when serious concerns were being raised about the effectiveness and safety of SSRI anti-depressants, particularly by Dr David Healy in north Wales – who managed to keep schtum about the activities of Dafydd and the paedophiles but carried out a substantial amount of excellent work demonstrating serious problems with SSRIs as well as a high degree of dishonesty on the part of Big Pharma regarding the use of clinical trials data  – Lewis Wolpert became a walking, talking advert for SSRIs.

Most of Lewis’s career had been concerned with work on chick embryos but a Personal Trauma resulted in Lewis Wolpert becoming a Service User Extraordinaire. Lewis received vast media coverage after he revealed that SSRIs had saved his life, would save many other lives and anyone who claimed otherwise was an anti-science ignoramus. Lewis had been in bed one night when he suddenly felt a massive urge to commit suicide. Mrs Wolpert realised that this was a medical emergency and called an ambulance. An ambulance was dispatched to the Wolpert residence immediately and Lewis was rushed to, I think, UCH. Which was of course the hospital arm of Wolpert’s employer.

Wolpert received care so good that he waxed lyrical about it ever after, which included treatment with SSRIs. They did the trick. Lewis responded to the SSRIs in exactly the way and within the exact timescale that the manufacturers claimed that SSRIs exert an effect. Lewis was certainly fortunate, because a great many other people did not have that experience. But then they weren’t senior members of staff in the University of London which was in receipt of enormous funding streams from, er, the manufacturers of SSRIs. Call me cynical, but the University of London was run by Lord Brian Flowers who had colluded with Dafydd and the paedophiles and ignored research fraud under his nose for years, at Hammersmith and at St George’s and no doubt in other places as well (see posts ‘A Bit More Paleontology’ and ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’).

Not only did Wolpert experience a reaction to SSRIs that was a marketing dream for the manufacturers of SSRIs, but he received the sort of outstanding mental health care that I have never known anyone else experience, at UCH or anywhere else.

In 2011, Wolpert published ‘You’re Looking Very Well, a book on the social and scientific aspects of ageing. The book was withdrawn from sale by its publisher in 2014 after being found to contain numerous passages copied without attribution from the scientific literature and from various websites, including Wikipedia. Publication of Wolpert’s upcoming book, ‘Why Can’t a Woman Be More Like a Man?’, was also delayed after passages of that book were found to be copied without attribution. Wolpert apologised and took responsibility for the ‘errors’. I’m surprised that Lewis felt that he even had to bother publishing a book asking that question. It’s because of our brain structures Lewis, everyone knows that. It’s our corpus callosa, they result in women being better at multi-tasking than men, as I was repeatedly told by numerous people some years ago. That’s why women can have a job, look after the kids and do the washing up, whereas men can’t. Obvious.

The corpus callosum is the grey bit in the middle. The washing up centre is next to the hoovering and dusting centre. In some women, the centre for expensive frocks is bigger than in other women. Diana, Princess of Wales had an enlarged centre for expensive frocks.

And our hormones mean that we go insane when we hit the menopause and are then magnetically attracted to purchasing books by Miriam Stoppard.

Sarah-Jayne’s other PhD supervisor Prof Chris Frith was educated at the Leys School – Trumpers’s husband Alan Barker was Headmaster of the Leys School, it has a thriving alumni network. Trumpers was the Health Minister who appointed Jimmy Savile to the management team at Broadmoor. See post ’95 Glorious Years!’.

Chris Frith completed his PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry in 1969. At that time the Institute of Psychiatry was part of the Maudsley Hospital. Frith did his PhD with H.J. Eysenck, who later became rather discredited. Frith was a PhD student at the Institute of Psychiatry when that place was heaving with Top Doctors who had worked with Dafydd – Dafydd had passed through the Maudsley himself just a few years previously – and were concealing his wrongdoing as well as other serious crime (see post ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’).

Chris Frith is married to Uta Frith, whom Sarah-Jayne names as an ‘influence’ on her work and with whom Sarah-Jayne has published. Uta Frith did her clinical psychology training at the Institute of Psychiatry either when Dafydd was still there or soon after. Uta then completed her PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry in 1968. So she knew the crowd who were concealing Dafydd’s wrongdoing as well.

Dr Tony Francis also worked at the Institute of Psychiatry after he qualified. Tony Francis enthusiastically embraced and promoted Mark Williams’s Mindfulness work.

Chris and Uta Frith won the European Latsis Prize in 2009 and also the Jean Nicod Prize in 2014.

After Sarah-Jayne had completed her PhD with two colleagues of a gang of paedophiles, she received two Royal Society Fellowships in succession, which funded her work at UCL, 2004-13.

Colin Blakemore is a Fellow of the Royal Society, as is Chris Frith. Sir Leszek Borysiewicz is a member of the Council of the Royal Society. Sir Leszek succeeded Colin Blakemore as Chief Exec of the MRC.

Mindfulness didn’t only grip the imagination of the DoH and Oxford University, the Welsh Gov’t were seriously impressed with Mark Williams’s research fraud as well and began introducing Mindfulness into just about every context that they could, including in schools. Sarah-Jayne’s Mindfulness research is part of the Mindfulness in schools programme.

Edwina Hart, Welsh Gov’t Health Minister, 2007-11, is part of the ‘Swansea Mafia’. Lord Brian Flowers came from Swansea. Mark Drakeford was Welsh Gov’t Health Minister, 2013-16. I wrote to Drakeford and told him that I had witnessed Mark Williams’s research fraud when it was carried out. I did not receive a reply to my letter, but just weeks later, Drakeford appeared in the media promoting Mindfulness. Drakeford formerly worked as a social worker for Dyfed County Council, whilst a paedophile ring operated in Dyfed, with connections to Dafydd’s gang in north Wales.

Another former PhD student of Chris Frith’s hit the big time as well as Sarah-Jayne – Prof Geraint Rees. Geraint Rees is Dean of the UCL Faculty of Life Sciences, Professor of Cognitive Neurology and Wellcome Trust Senior Clinical Fellow at UCL. He is also a non-executive Director of UCL Business PLC.

Geraint’s colleague Sarah-Jayne is Co-Director of the Wellcome Trust PhD programme in Neurosciences at UCL. That’s the Sarah-Jayne who’s project with Mark Williams is funded by the Wellcome Trust.

It’s small world down there at UCL, nearly as small as the world of the paedophiles’ friends at Bangor. If I had been Fergus Lowe, I’d have been knocking on the door of UCL demanding some of the riches that were extracted from Gov’t and funding bodies in return for keeping quiet about Dafydd et al. Oh hang on – that’s exactly what Fungus was doing…

Until 2016 Geraint Rees was a member of the Francis Crick Institute Executive Team; he was Deputy Head of the UCL Faculty of Brain Sciences, 2012-14; and from 2009-14 the Director of the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. Rees is also a Senior Scientific Adviser at Google DeepMind. He was the elected Deputy Chair of the BMA Medical Academic Staff Committee, 2007-12.

During those years, the BMA were causing havoc in Wales, as they led a co-ordinated attempt to bring down Mary Burrows, the Chief Exec of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, because she had dared challenge the criminal conduct of some members of NHS staff. During that time, the wife of the VC of Bangor University died after the members of the BMA who staffed the Walton Centre found that there was no effective treatment for her. The VC who then became the Chairman of the Betsi when Mary was Chief Exec…

‘We’re the paedophiles’ friends and you can’t get us.’

Fings Break you see…

When it was mooted – by Edwina Hart no less – that patients from north Wales should go to Swansea for elective treatment rather than the Walton Centre, the charge against Edwina’s plan was led by Professor Robert Owen, a retired Liverpool University surgeon (see post ‘In Memoriam – Professor Robert Owen’), who in 1989 co-ordinated the cover-up of the crimes of Dafydd et al in the wake of my complaint (see post ‘Enter Professor Robert Bluglass CBE’). Robert Owen’s campaign to ensure that patients from north Wales remained in the hands of the butchers of Walton was supported by a ‘memorandum’ submitted to the Commons Welsh Affairs Committee, signed by ‘retired professional people from north Wales’. Every one of whom had played a key role in concealing the wrongdoing of Dafydd and the gang (see post ‘A Vampire At Glyndwr University!’).

This morning someone who read my post ‘Interesting Facts’ which contained accounts of the backgrounds and work of Hugh Bentall and his son the clinical psychologist Professor Richard Bentall sent me a copy of a paper published by Richard Bentall (in an ethics journal no less, which made my correspondent laugh) in 1992. Bentall gives his address as being Liverpool University. ‘Interesting Facts’ provides details of Richard Bentall’s many links to Dafydd and Liverpool University is of course Dafydd’s alma mater. Dafydd had a great many mates working at Liverpool University in 1992 who were concealing his wrongdoing, including Professor Robert Owen.

I still haven’t found out in which NHS forensic unit Richard Bentall worked. However, whether it was Ashworth on Merseyside or not, if Bentall worked at Liverpool University in 1992, he’ll have known what was going on at Ashworth at that time. Including that murder of a patient, whom it was alleged had been beaten to death by the Angels. Who was appointed to investigate the murder? None other than Dafydd’s mate Professor Robert Bluglass. To assist with the investigation, Bluglass selected a senior Angel from his own unit, the Reaside Clinic in Birmingham and a senior Angel of Dafydd’s from Clwyd Health Authority. Someone else known to the paedophile gang worked at Ashworth at the time of the beatings and murder – Dr David Mawson. David Mawson got the hell out of Ashworth in about late 1991/92. How do I know? Because he had just run away screaming before the shit hit the fan when he was hired to provide an ‘independent opinion’ on me.

David Mawson was friendly and entertaining and certainly didn’t carry on like Dafydd. But like everyone else, he just couldn’t bring himself to admit what Dafydd et al had done, although he knew and had access to all those records in which Dafydd and co had detailed their own wrongdoing.

I shouldn’t be surprised. Because in 1992, when Richard Bentall was working at Liverpool University, the North Wales Police were investigating the possibility of a paedophile ring in north Wales. The Chief Constable refused to co-operate with the investigation and in 1992, the investigation ended and it was concluded that there was no evidence of a paedophile gang. The gang who’s members’ written admissions of law-breaking and sexual exploitation of patients were all over my medical records. To which everyone but I had access.

Because the people who knew about the misconduct of Dafydd et al are myriad and legion, I still have more to name on this blog.

One such person who has featured here before is Dr Phil Thomas, who worked at the Hergest Unit in the 1990s. Phil Thomas was actually very nice, but he certainly knew what his colleagues were doing. Phil chose the solution which nearly all good doctors did when they found out what was happening – he buggered off and left us at the mercy of Dafydd and co. Phil later left the NHS completely and took up solely academic positions, because he concluded that it was not possible to practice as an NHS psychiatrist without abusing one’s patients. I do admire Phil Thomas for this, but I really wish that he would now speak up about the serious crime which he knew was endemic when he worked in north Wales, along with all his critical psychiatry campaigning work…

Phil Thomas’s friend and co-author is Dr Pat Bracken, another psychiatrist who is well-known for his critical stance with regard to psychiatry. Brown knows Pat Bracken as well. Pat Bracken and his circle are lively intelligent people, he must have heard what was going on in north Wales.

Two other people who witnessed the abuses and the madness in north Wales for years scarpered to the Isle of Lewis in the Hebrides, at about the time that Operational Pallial re-opened the investigation into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal – Dr Gary Davies and his GP wife, Clare.

Gary did a degree in psychology at Bangor University and then did his PhD at the same time that I did mine. Gary’s PhD involved working with local Top Doctors with a view to of course improving rural health services in north Wales. Gary knew as well as I did that the situation in north Wales was so dire that the services will never be improved until there’s a spate of convictions. Gary’s dad was also a Bangor psychology graduate. Gary was very friendly with a lot of people who knew the grief that I was continuing to receive at the hands of the paedophiles’ friends and he could well have known about John McTernan’s brother-in-law nicking my computer.

Gary grew up in Bangor and went to Friars School. Friars School operated a two tier system. The kids from Maesgeirchan – the council estate where Ty’r Felin children’s home was located, who’s staff were trafficking kids to Dolphin Square as well as to other locations – were considered a pain in the bum and if possible were excluded, but there were also a lot of the kids of the middle classes who went to Friars School. Their parents were the lecturers, police officers, social workers, Angels, Top Doctors, teachers, NHS managers etc who staffed the ‘services’ in who’s care kids were abused. Many of their own children followed them into those jobs. Gary will have known scores of them.

Gary now holds a senior position at the University of the Highlands and Islands in Scotland. Specialising in rural healthcare of course.

Gary’s wife Clare was for years a GP in north Wales. For a long time Clare worked in the GP practice in Llanfairfechan, although she and Gary lived in Tregarth. Clare knew how bloody awful the mental health services were, she was one of the local GPs who had to constantly compensate for the danger that the mental health services were placing her patients in. A great many of the paedophiles’ friends live at Llanfairfechan, because for many years the institution for learning disabled people, Bryn-y-Neuadd, was located there.

Dafydd’s mate and colleague on the CAIS Board of Trustees Cledwyn Williams was Director of what was then known as Mental Handicap Services whilst the paedophile gang ran riot. Dafydd’s colleagues Dr Michael Craft and his wife Ann carried out research at Bryn-y-Neuadd, which involved helping people with learning disabilities to explore their sexual needs (see post ‘The Old Devils’). The Crafts ‘supported patients in their sexual relationships’ as well. Yet more pioneering research from the sex offenders of north Wales.

After Bryn-y-Neuadd was closed down and the vegetables – as they were described to me by a senior manager of Bryn-y-Neuadd who was a member of the panel interviewing candidates for a job as an Advocate to work at Bryn-y-Neuadd – were planted into the community, Bryn-y-Neuadd served as the HQ for the NHS Trust. The site also subsequently housed the medium secure mental health unit in which victims of the paedophiles’ friends were banged up, if necessary without trial.

North Wales certainly has a good supply of quality produce among its Service User Community, as classified by the North Wales Psychiatric Association DSM.

Many of Clare’s patients whom she saw in her role as a GP were thugs past and present who abused the patients of Bryn-y-Neuadd.

Clare is enjoying the good life in Scotland as well. She worked as the Isle of Lewis GP for a long time, but I think that she now also has a senior position in the University of the Highlands and Islands.

Whilst rooting around earlier, I discovered something interesting in an old copy of ‘The Lancet’. On Feb 9, 1963, a letter to ‘The Lancet’ was published from I. Atkin, Park Prewett Hospital, Basingstoke Hospital. Atkin quotes frightening statistics regarding the dire fate of seriously mentally ill people – ‘unrecovered psychotics’ – who had been released into the community with inadequate care, some of whom had died. Atkin’s told readers: ‘We must carefully assess the possible ‘burden on the community’ before discharging unrecovered psychotics, otherwise the general public will rebel and bitterly accuse us of failing in the treatment and care of those patients who are not really fit to live in the non-hospital community’.

It was some three years later when ‘The Times’ reported on a scandal from north Wales. Hundreds of seriously ill institutionalised patients from the North Wales Hospital Denbigh had been, without prior warning, herded onto coaches one day and bussed out to unsuitable accommodation on the north Wales coast. They were found a few weeks later destitute, starving and lice-ridden. The person responsible was one Dr Dafydd Alun Jones, a leading light in the National Association for Mental Health (MIND), who was promoting ‘community care’.

In 1987 as I sat illegally imprisoned in the North Wales Hospital, Angels told me that they feared what would happen with the forthcoming move to community care, because ‘there are no facilities in the community’. Which there weren’t. Neither did anyone bother to develop any. Three small acute mental health units were built in north Wales, which were staffed by the former staff of the North Wales Hospital who’s bad attitude to the patients remained unchanged. At Bangor, in the early 1990s, a good day centre was developed at the Hergest Unit. It thrived for about three years, when it was then closed down. Scores of patients became destitute and died. Because there were still no facilities in the community.

It was reported yesterday that the numbers of severely mentally ill homeless people dying in London are rocketing.

Meanwhile, at Oxford and UCL, millions are being given to Mark Williams, Sarah-Jayne Blakemore and their colleagues to develop ‘Mindfulness programmes’ to be rolled out globally. The work is all based upon a research fraud which was perpetrated by Mark Williams in the late 1980s – when patients began to become destitute and die at the hands of a gang of paedophiles who couldn’t be bothered to look after them and were blowing NHS funding on mindfulness retreats and training rather than services which would keep patients alive.

February 1963. It is now June 2018. The patients are still dying destitute on the streets. Dafydd has remained fully employed throughout his whole career and is now worth a fortune.

Interesting Facts

I have mentioned previously that one of my favourite satires is ‘Entirely A Matter For You’, Peter Cook’s send up of the judge who presided over Jeremy Thorpe’s trial. Cook performed his sketch at ‘The Secret Policeman’s Ball’, a 1979 fundraiser for Amnesty International. The irony is that people involved with Amnesty and even some of those who performed in ‘The Secret Policeman’s Ball’ knew about the barrel of crap which was concealed at the highest levels and resulted in Thorpe’s acquittal.

At ‘The Secret Policeman’s Ball’ Cook also performed ‘Interesting Facts’, in which he played a man on a park bench imparting various ‘facts’ – such as ‘did you know that your intestine is four miles long’ and that ‘because the food travels down at one mile per hour, it take’s four hours to digest’ to an increasingly irritated John Cleese.

Despite blogging so extensively about the paedophiles’ friends, readers might be surprised to learn that there are still many links and loose ends that I have not yet covered. So here’s a post of Interesting Facts – unlike Peter Cook’s Interesting Facts, these are correct – to plug just a few of the gaps.

Previous posts have mentioned Professor Hugh Bentall, the cardiac surgeon at Hammersmith Hospital/Royal Postgraduate Medical School, who converted his secretary into his mistress and arranged for her to do a degree and then a PhD in anatomy. The secretary-turned-mistress was subsequently given a job at RPMS as a lecturer in anatomy, behaved appallingly and pissed everyone off but was untouchable because of whom she had slept with for so many years.

Hugh Bentall was a very big name in medicine, he pioneered open heart surgery. On April 17 1953, Bentall became the first British heart surgeon to carry out an open heart operation. Along with Professor Bill Cleland, Bentall made history when he successfully operated on a 30 yr old woman with a blocked aortic valve. The operation was performed using the newly developed heart-lung machine, which was the result of Bentall’s colleague Professor Denis Melrose’s ingenuity, another first for British medicine and indeed for Hammersmith Hospital/RPMS.

After demobilisation in 1947, Hugh Bentall taught anatomy at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School until 1950. He then joined Hammersmith/RPMS as an assistant to Professor Ian Aird in general and thoracic surgery. At the same time, Bentall was involved in research to develop cardiac surgery and, with Aird and Melrose, developed the heart-lung machine.

Bentall and his colleagues from the Hammersmith cardiac team became world famous when, in April 1959, at the height of the Cold War, they travelled to Moscow to demonstrate their newly developed surgical technique, using their newly invented heart-lung machine. Bentall was assistant surgeon, Denis Melrose was the physiologist, Bill Cleland was the surgeon, John Beard was the anaethetist and Arthur Hollman was the cardiologist.

The Hammersmith team held the demonstration at the Institute of Cardiac Surgery at Leninsky Prospekt. Prof A.N. Bakulev from Moscow had seen the heart-lung machine, wanted to buy one and start open heart surgery in Moscow, so he invited Bentall et al over. The Hammersmith team carried out five open heart operation on adults and children, watched by more than 200 surgeons from across the Soviet Union. It was thought to be the first time that foreign doctors had worked in the Soviet Union and the event received huge media coverage, both in Russia and the UK. It made the front page of ‘Pravda’ and the front page of The Daily Torygraph.

It was a coup for both Gov’ts. In Britain at that time the PM was Harold Macmillan. In 1963 Macmillan’s Gov’t became mired in scandal as a result of the Profumo Affair, the centre of which were concerns regarding national security resulting from events in 1961 including War Minister Jack Profumo’s affair with 19 year old Christine Keeler. Christine and her friend Mandy Rice-Davies were call girls who were sleeping with many other people at the same time, including a Soviet naval attache who was suspected of being a spy. It was revealed that there had been much interesting action at Lord Astor’s country seat Cliveden, involving Gov’t Ministers, aristocrats, members of the Royal Family, alleged spies and call girls. Osteopath Stephen Ward was the biggest scapegoat and ended up dead in questionable circumstances. The scandal eventually brought down Harold Macmillan’s Gov’t in 1963. See post ‘In Memoriam – Bronwen, Lady Astor’ for details.

Good news about British Heroics was badly needed from 1961 onward as the gossip and scandal about Profumo and his associates escalated.

On 22 March 1961 Bentall and his team appeared on a programme in the BBC documentary series ‘Your Life In Their Hands’, where he performed an operation to repair a hole in the heart. Three years later Bentall was appointed Professor of Cardiac Surgery at Hammersmith/RPMS.

The DG of the BBC, 1960-69, was Sir Hugh Carleton Greene. Greene became famous for doing battle with Mary Whitehouse, who believed that she was seeing ‘filth’ on the BBC. Greene was a former Berlin correspondent for The Torygraph who then joined the BBC in 1940 as Head of the German Service.

Greene presented news and discussion programmes and became fairly well known in Europe in this role. From 1941 he helped to smooth the relationship between the BBC and the Political Warfare Executive, (PWE), whose goals were somewhat at odds: the BBC strove for accurate, unbiased journalism whereas the PWE was largely concerned with propaganda.

Following the war, Greene helped with the rebuilding of German broadcasting infrastructure in the British Occupied Zone. With the Cold War developing, he was given the task of leading the BBC’s East European Service and produced propaganda for the British Army in Malaya during the Communist uprising in 1947.

Greene returned to the BBC in the 1950s and started as Director of Administration. In 1958 he become Director of News and Current Affairs and was appointed Director-General two years later. The news department had come to be known as the ‘Kremlin of the BBC’ and a secret BBC document was leaked to the competing Independent Television Authority (ITA) in which concerns were voiced about the financial interests of newspapers in ITV companies. Greene learned of the leak from a Ivone Kirkpatrick, the Chairman of the ITA. (Kirkpatrick had been a member of the PWE, Head of the BBC’s wartime European Services and High Commissioner of the British Occupied Zone in Germany and had worked with Greene many times.)

So Hugh Greene worked for the security services.

Hugh Greene’s brothers were Graham Greene, the novelist, Herbert Greene, the poet and Japanese spy and Raymond Greene, a Top Doctor who was a member of the 1933 Everest expedition. The successful 1953 Everest expedition was announced on the BBC by Raymond Greene. Sir Charles Evans, the Liverpool neurosurgeon and Principal of UCNW whilst the sex trafficking ring operated within that college, was a member of the 1953 Everest expedition. The 1933 Everest expedition was led by Hugh Ruttledge, who also led the 1936 Everest expedition. Tenzing Norgay was a member of Ruttledge’s 1936 expedition and was of course also a member of the 1953 expedition along with Sir Charles Evans.

Charles Evans will have known Raymond Greene, climbing is a small world and in that era, climbing in the Himalayas was a gentleman’s sport pursued by a very select small group of people.

During WWII, Raymond Greene was member of the SOE. So he was working for the security services as well then, as was John Hunt, who was a member of the 1953 Everest expedition with Charles Evans. Raymond Greene was physician to President de Gaulle during de Gaulle’s state visit to England in 1960.

The Chairman of the Governors at the time of the BBC documentary starring Hugh Bentall and his colleagues was Sir Arthur fforde. fforde went to Rugby School and then Trinity College, Oxford. After graduation fforde became a solicitor. He was a partner in Linklaters & Paines (later Linklaters) and helped establish the Unit trust. Sir Arthur was Head of Rugby School, 1948-57, before becoming Chairman of the BBC.

The entry for Hugh Bentall on the Royal College of Surgeons ‘Plarr’s Lives Of The Fellows Online’ tells us exactly what the circumstances were that led to the appointment of Bentall as Professor of Cardiac Surgery at RPMS: ‘a donation from his father’s successful department store at Kingston-upon-Thames financed Hugh’s appointment to a personal chair of cardiac surgery at Hammersmith (the first in England)’.

That is quite some admission from the Royal College of Surgeons. It does however explain what I noticed when I was a postgrad at RPMS in 1986-87; that was, huge resentment towards Bentall from within Hammersmith/RPMS, allegations that he was virtually dictating what happened throughout the whole institution and the references to his family’s wealth.

So what did the Royal College of Surgeons think about Bentall’s surgical skills? Plarr’s ‘Lives Of The Fellows’ tells us that ‘he was technically a good surgeon but would never accept responsibility for any technical problems which might develop in an operation – and his assistants found it difficult to accept this situation’.

‘Technical problems’ developing in an operation can lead to patient death. So when someone pegged out it wasn’t Bentall’s fault.

Here’s the man who purchased himself a Chair, huge influence over a leading medical institution, a career as an internationally renowned cardiac surgeon, influence with the British Gov’t, a mistress and much more besides:

Professor Hugh Bentall

The whole lot was founded upon flogging upmarket goods to the middle classes of Kingston-upon-Thames.

The King’s New Clothes which was Hugh Bentall explains much of the chaos that followed the Bristol Children’s Heart Surgery Scandal involving events in Bristol, 1984-95. The Bristol cardiac surgeons stood accused of operating in a cavalier manner and well beyond their competence, which led to the death of a number of their young patients. Opinions of other surgeons working in the same area were sought, but as accusations and counter-accusations flew, no-one seemed to be able to ascertain for sure whether the Bristol team had been reckless or not. Then allegations were aimed at other children’s heart surgery units – once more, peer assessments were sought, but again, no-one seemed to be able to conclude for certain whether those surgeons had been reckless.

I’ll tell you an Interesting Fact. No-one could come to a firm opinion, because not only was there deception being practised at the highest echelons by so many of these ’eminent surgeons’, but so many of the Top Docs had so much dirt on each other and info regarding the wrongdoing of those at Gov’t level past and present as well as members of the Royal Family, that they just did not dare expose each other.

Hugh Bentall’s colleagues at Hammersmith/RPMS were conducting research frauds and fiddles all over the place, people were being appointed to jobs on the basis of whom they had slept with and some of that lot knew about Dafydd and the paedophile gang and were concealing that as well. Including Hugh Bentall.

My post ‘A Cause Close To Our Hearts’ described a few of the many excesses that I witnessed and was told of at first hand whilst I was a postgrad at Hammersmith, 1986-87. In my post ‘Cry, The Beloved Country’ I mentioned Cyril Rooney, an MSc student at RPMS whom, it was alleged by his fellow students, had discovered wrongdoing and as a result had bagged a fully funded place with the Royal College of Surgeons to study for a medicine degree.

It gets better than that. The 70th anniversary of the NHS? Let’s celebrate with Interesting Facts! When I was a postgrad at Hammersmith, I did not go boozing in the medical school bar with everyone else. Partly because I don’t drink much, partly because I had so little money that I couldn’t afford to, but mainly because I had detected much backstabbing among staff and students and I wanted to avoid it. I was however friends with a couple of students who did socialise and told me that the atmosphere was so toxic that I made the right decision to avoid the bar. By the end of the course, many students loathed Professor Sir Nicholas Wright, the Head of the Histopathology Dept which provided most of the input on our course and they alleged serious wrongdoing on his part. Nick Wright later became the Warden of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and has been a leading light in CR UK for years (see post ‘Gwlad y Menig Gwynion’).

The postgrads were particularly angry at what they perceived to be the frank racism directed at an Iraqi GP who was an MSc student at RPMS. The staff were as rude as they could be to this man. Nick Wright then demanded that the Iraqi GP carry out a project with him. It was subsequently discovered that the Iraqi GP had made up the data for the project and RPMS told him that he would not be receiving his MSc. The Iraqi man, in his defence, stated that Nick Wright had pressurised him into making up the data. Wright hit the roof and I was told that the Iraqi GP expressed extreme distress at what would happen to his wife and children if he returned to Iraq in disgrace. Iraq was ruled by Saddam Hussein at that time. So Nick Wright thought it would be a real laugh to make the Iraqi GP lick his boots and beg forgiveness before it was agreed that he would be awarded his MSc. It wasn’t a student who told me what Wright had done to the Iraqi GP in the disciplinary hearing – it was a member of staff. They thought that it was hilarious.

A lot of students also fell out with our course tutor, Dr Malcolm Alison. I was told repeatedly that Malcolm was completely unscrupulous and that no-one should trust him ‘further that you can throw him’. It was alleged that one female student had developed a deep and meaningful relationship with Malcolm which enabled her to bag a very nice number with a drug company after she finished the course. I thought that this was just speculation, until it was explained very clearly to me that on the course the previous year, a student feared failing so she ‘offered herself to Malcolm and he did not refuse’. I was given corroborating evidence…

Malcolm, if you did not want this sort of info to ever become public, you should not have colluded with a gang of paedophiles in north Wales. I cannot believe that you thought that the scale of wrongdoing could be kept quiet.

The icing on the cake was when I was told by a senior academic from another university, who was sent on secondment to Hammersmith with a view to his institution collaborating with them, that the collaboration was definitely off because ‘this lot are a bunch of crooks and we’re not going to touch them with a barge pole’.

My post ‘I Don’t Believe It!’ described what I believe was a major research fraud carried out by Professor Dame Julia Polak – an RPMS immunohistocytochemist who was alleged to have been the worst character at RPMS in terms of cheating, lying and shafting people – in collaboration with Sir Magdi Yacoub of Harefield Hospital. The Princess of Wales’s beau of a cardiac surgeon Hasnet Khan ended up working at Harefield after Diana’s death.

How could anyone ever have believed that it was in the ‘national interest’ to conceal all this, lest confidence in the medical profession was damaged?

Hugh Bentall would have had ample opportunity to gain knowledge of wrongdoing in high places before he ever rocked up at the Sodom and Gomorrah that was Hammersmith/RPMS.

Bentall was born in Sussex and educated at Seaford College, Sussex. Many of the paedophiles’ friends had their base or origins in Sussex – Brighton was the location of some of the brothels owned by John Allen to which he trafficked kids in care from north Wales. The firebomb which, in April 1992, killed five witnesses to the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal, was thrown into a building in Brighton (see post ‘The Silence Of The Welsh Lambs’).

Bentall trained at Bart’s. Which was where Lady Juliet Bingley’s father worked as a surgeon and where Juliet worked as a medical social worker. Juliet Bingley and her son William spent years concealing the crimes of Dafydd and the paedophiles, when the Bingleys worked at MIND and when William Bingley later became Chief Executive of the Mental Health Act Commission (see post ‘MIND Are Out For Mental Health – Never For Themselves Of Course’). Dafydd’s mate and umbrella Professor Linford Rees also worked at Bart’s (see post ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’). Linford’s daughter was the 1970s sex symbol, Angharad Rees, who played Demelza in ‘Poldark’ and put on that rather unconvincing Cornish accent whilst she did it. Angharad was married to actor Christopher Cazenove, who went on to hit Hollywood as an actor in ‘Dynasty’, alongside Joan Collins.

Prof Geoffrey Chamberlain of St George’s Hospital Medical School – who concealed the crimes of Dafydd and the paedophiles as well as a linked paedophile gang in south London – was a personal friend of Cilla Black. I imagine that Chamberlain rubbed noses with many other celebs as well, but the identities of the celeb contacts of the consultants were a closely guarded secret. The friendship with Cilla was openly discussed, because Cilla herself had talked about Chamberlain in media interviews. Cilla provided much good PR for a man who was concealing organised crime, including sex offences against children.

Cilla was a big fan of Thatch – I wouldn’t be surprised if there was personal contact between the two of them. You can’t get much more blatant than sitting on ‘Blind Date’ telling everyone that Thatch ‘has put the Great back into Britain’. Yes Cilla, she was also personal friends with at least two serious sex offenders:

Sir Peter Morrison:

  • Sex

And a man who spent many a Christmas at Chequers:

  • Dark Secrets of Westminster: Challenging British Elite ...
  • goodnessandharmony
  • Le pédophile proxénète avait ses entrées à la cour royale ...

As indeed did this man:

Sex

‘And ‘ere’s our Graham to feed you the latest load of political propaganda whilst he introduces your sex offending dates for tonight’.

When I worked at St George’s Hospital Medical School, one of the senior registrars who worked in Geoffrey Chamberlain’s dept was Jonathan Frappell. I never heard any allegations of misconduct relating to him, but he knew what his colleagues were up to. Jonathan Frappell’s wife Susan is a former Bart’s nurse. After leaving St George’s, Jonathan Frappell was appointed to a consultant’s post in Plymouth at the rather troubled Derriford Hospital. He has now set up his own medico-legal gynaecological consultancy.

Hugh Bentall served as a surgeon-doctor in the Royal Navy, 1945-47. Gwynne the lobotomist served in the Royal Navy, as did Geoffrey Chamberlain. Chamberlain continued his relationship with the Navy as a member of the RNVR for years. My post ‘The Defence Of The Realm’ detailed how many people at senior levels in the Royal Navy or the Admiralty – including Admiral Sir Alec Bingley and Lord Louis Mountbatten – were directly linked with people who concealed organised sexual abuse or were even accused of it themselves.

Bentall worked at Hammersmith/RPMS between 1959 and 1985. After that he taught anatomy at the Royal Free Hospital Medical School until 1989. While Bentall was teaching there, I had an interview at the Royal Free and I noted that they were in possession of information about me which could only have come from Gwynne the lobotomist, Dr D.G.E. Wood, Tony Francis or Dafydd. It wasn’t Top Secret or sensitive info, which is probably why the interviewing panel let it slip – but it could only have come from one of those four people.

Hugh Bentall’s son, as I have mentioned in previous posts, is the clinical psychologist Professor Richard Bentall. Richard Bentall did his first degree in the Dept of Psychology at UCNW and has held a Chair in the School of Psychology at Bangor University. I thought that Richard Bentall had done his clinical psychology training in north Wales, but I need to correct that – he did his clin psych training at Liverpool University.

Bentall did his degree at Bangor whilst Dafydd still ruled the roost in the Psychology Dept. Bentall then stayed on in the Dept to do a PhD in Experimental Psychology. So Richard will know about the sex trafficking gang that Dafydd and a number of staff at UCNW were facilitating. He’ll have known about Dafydd working a fiddle to ensure that his daughter Dwynwen was given a place to do a PhD in the Psychology Dept although her degree wasn’t good enough to have been offered the place. Furthermore, Richard will know that Dafydd tried to embezzle a load of dosh from UCNW and the NHS in order to fund Dwynwen’s place at a private college when Dwynwen was turned down for a clin psych place after her PhD.

Richard Bentall will know about another rather worrying Psychology PhD student at that time too, a young Greek man called Nick. Nick was a bit bonkers; he established a relationship with a local girl who was the single mother of a little boy and Nick was carrying out bizarre  experiments on the little boy. Other PhD students in the Psychology Dept knew about this and were worried about the effect on the boy that Nick’s experimenting was having, but no-one raised any official concerns. Although there probably wouldn’t have been much point, the child protection services in Gwynedd County Council had been hijacked by a paedophile gang run by Dafydd and Dafydd’s mistress Lucille Hughes.

So Richard Bentall finished his PhD at UCNW and did his clin psych training at Liverpool University – Dafydd’s alma mater and domain. After this, Bentall’s wiki entry tells us that he did a ‘brief stint’ working as an NHS forensic psychologist. At that time, the NHS forensic mental health services were choc full of victims of child sexual abuse who were being diagnosed as psychotic and banged up if they talked about what had happened to them. I don’t know where Bentall worked as an NHS forensic psychologist, but I’m wondering if it was at Ashworth Hospital on Merseyside. Because if it was, Bentall needs to make a police statement.

Ashworth served as a personal prison of Dafydd and the paedophiles; the patients were horrendously abused, physically and sexually and at least one patient was beaten to death by the ‘nurses’. The Angels belonged to the POA – many of them were members of the National Front and there was a civil war going on between the Angels, the Top Docs and the clin psychs. The Angels were the biggest thugs, so it was the Top Docs and clin psychs who received death threats and had their tyres slashed. However I have read a witness account of two clin psychs having a punch-up on the hospital premises – one of them was the person responsible for holding the anger management sessions with the patients. See my post ‘Security, Security’ for details regarding Ashworth.

After Richard Bentall worked in the ‘service’ which ensures that the victims of influential sex offenders remain excluded and discredited for the rest of their lives, he did an MA in Philosophy as Applied to Healthcare at Swansea University.

Richard Bentall has stated that people ‘have compared me to R.D. Laing’. I knew a former patient of Laing’s who not only told me that Laing was sadly a complete hypocrite who seriously neglected his most needy patients, but many people alleged that Laing was also sexually exploiting his patients.

If the mortar board fits Richard!

During the 1990s, Bentall was Professor of Clinical Psychology at Liverpool University. Throughout the years that, despite police investigations, there was ‘no evidence’ found of a paedophile ring in north Wales/Cheshire. Witnesses to the paedophile gang which didn’t exist were regularly found dead during that time.

In 1999 – once Ronnie Waterhouse had called the victims of Dafydd and the paedophiles a bunch of liars and criminals and had begun to write his whitewash – Richard Bentall accepted a position at Manchester University ‘researching the psychology and treatment of psychotic experiences’.

Manchester University employed Tony Francis immediately before Tony Francis relocated to north Wales (see post ‘Ian Brockington’s Mischief’). Dafydd’s mate Dr Bob Hobson moved from the Maudsley to Manchester University in 1974 and built an empire there (see post ‘The Mentor’). There was a lot of traffic in mental health staff between Manchester and north Wales during the 1990s and many Angels and more recently staff working in north Wales acquired what were clearly worthless qualifications in Mental Health from Manchester University (see post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’).

In 2007, Richard Bentall returned to Bangor University as a Professor of Psychology. By which time Prof Fergus Lowe was causing havoc in Bangor University, having expanded his influence outward from the School of Psychology on the back of his knowledge of the crimes of Dafydd and the paedophiles and all those who had concealed them.

Richard returned to Bangor when the paedophiles’ friends had entered panic mode and were calling in reinforcements. Not only were people demanding that the investigation into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal be re-opened, but Brown and I had started publishing about the shortcomings of the mental health services.

The VC of Bangor University’s wife was dying after the paedophiles’ friends at the Walton Centre in Liverpool somehow found that they ‘could not treat’ her condition and he took compassionate leave to look after her. Fungus took the opportunity to tell everyone that they could all forget about the VC now, Fungus was the only one who counted.

It was then that Richard Bentall heard the call of the green, green grass of home!

Shortly after Richard arrived back in Bangor, I was shown an e mail that he had sent in which he admitted that it had become virtually impossible to recruit patients for mental health research in north Wales. I know why that was – the patients had been so badly neglected or abused by the mental health services that they had as little as possible to do with them and simply ran away screaming if the word ‘research’ was mentioned.

So Richard, how do you explain that although none of you could recruit participants in north Wales, mental health researchers in Bangor continued to churn out publications boasting of ground-breaking new ‘interventions’, which were based on research trials which had allegedly involved hundreds of mental health patients from north Wales?

Richard Bentall returned to a Professorial position at Liverpool University in 2011. Just as Operation Pallial re-opened the investigation into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal.

At Liverpool University, Richard ‘is building a research group which focuses on the psychological mechanisms of severe mental illness and social factors that affect these mechanisms, which has led to a recent interest in public mental health’. In 1989, he received the BPS’s Division of Clinical Psychology ‘May Davidson Award’, an annual award for outstanding contributions to the field of clinical psychology, in the first ten years after qualifying. In 2014 Bentall was elected a Fellow of the British Academy.

Bentall has critiqued much of psychiatry, but he has not said anything that was not said many years ago by many other academics. Yet for reasons that I never understood – until I found out who Richard’s dad was – Richard Bentall has received acres of media coverage and has won prestigious awards. Furthermore, Dr Mike Jackson, one of Bentall’s Bangor colleagues who has also built his recent reputation on ‘psychological interventions in psychosis’, admitted to me that those interventions don’t work. Not that Mike et al ever admitted this in their publications or in any of the training sessions or the mountains of training material that they have produced.

The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle.jpg

Here’s an Interesting Fact, in the light of the Bentall family owning much of Kingston-upon-Thames: After I left St George’s, St George’s Hospital Medical School merged with Kingston Poly. The staff of the elitist den of hatred which is St George’s had a great many hissy fits at the thought of merging with a bunch of oiks from a Poly, but the Dean/Principal of St George’s, Professor Sir William Asscher, drove the merger through. Asscher spent most of his career as a Top Doctor in Cardiff until he heard the siren call of the serious organised criminals of St George’s in 1988, who were in need of help after their Prof of Paediatrics, Oliver Brooke, was imprisoned for the possession of child porn. Asscher spent the rest of his career at St George’s, concealing the cesspool that remained virtually unrippled even after Brooke was jailed.

Adrian Bell, a lecturer in Plant Biology at Bangor University, did his first degree at Kingston Poly. Adrian then worked as a forensic scientist but told students in Bangor that he left that service because of the endemic corruption within. Adrian was friends with Dr D.G.E. Wood, who was facilitating the sex trafficking ring whilst he worked as a GP in the Student Health Centre. I presumed for years that Adrian Bell had no idea at all what Wood, Dafydd and Gwynne were up to. I have recently been told that he knew exactly what was going on.

That gang killed people Adrian. You spineless tosser.

Someone else knows all about Dafydd and the sex trafficking gang as well – Richard Bentall’s former wife. She did a degree in the Dept of Plant Biology at UCNW and then trained and worked as an Angel. She left the NHS to work in her own complementary therapy practice on Anglesey and she knows exactly how lethal the NHS is because she told me.

Richard’s former wife has good reason not to utter a word about Dafydd and the paedophiles. Her dad, Dr Eifion Jones, was for many years the Dean of the Faculty of Science at UCNW – whilst Dafydd and the paedophiles ran the institution.

I never told Richard’s ex-wife this, but her dad was notorious. He knew that there was a very big problem with the poor quality of statistics teaching at UCNW (see post ‘They Think That It’s All Over – It Is Now’) and Eifion Jones also knew that the teaching in the Maths Dept was so bad that all the science students who opted for the ‘Basic Maths’ module in their first year failed and were kicked out of the University.

In Freshers’ Week, all the science freshers were warned by the peer guides (or as they were called in my day ‘Freshers Helpers’) not, under any circumstances, to opt for Basic Maths, because if they did they would fail the first year and would be thrown out. A few days later, we were all herded into Top College to select our modules and I was accosted by a lecturer who wanted to know which modules I had selected. When I told him, he demanded to know why I hadn’t chosen Basic Maths. I didn’t say ‘because I’ve been warned’, I just said that I was more interested in the modules that I had chosen. This man then spent 15 minutes promising me that I ‘would be in trouble without Basic Maths’ and actually sent me back to the administrators to tell them that I wanted to sign  up for Basic Maths. I was really worried by this and wondered if this old boy was right, but my bacon was saved by a second year student who had seen what was happening, came over, dragged me to one side and said ‘DON’T DO IT, he’s only trying to get you to sign up for Basic Maths because no-one has enrolled for it and it’s making them look bad’. So I avoided the old boy who was ordering me to sign up for Basic Maths and stuck with my original choices.

That old boy was Eifion Jones, Richard Bentall’s former father-in-law.

At the end of my first year I was told that one student had been kicked out of UCNW after they failed a module that the Dean of Science had coerced them into doing. It was of course Basic Maths.

Eifion Jones will have known about many other things as well. The chaos in the Psychology Dept involving Dafydd for a start and his son-in-law’s fellow PhD students in that Dept. Eifion Jones probably also knew that one of the lecturers in the Plant Biology Dept was known to be frequenting pubs in Bangor and picking up under-aged girls. Adrian Bell and his wife Alison knew about this because they were telling people that they were worried that their colleague was going to get himself arrested.

Richard Bentall met Eifion Jones’s daughter when they were undergrads at UCNW and I think that they got married when they were quite young – as undergrads or when Bentall was a PhD student.

No chance of your colleague getting arrested Adrian and Alison, the whole town was facilitating the trafficking ring, including, as you knew, your own colleagues. As well as Eifion Jones, who’s daughter was a student of the potential sex offender and who’s son-in-law did two degrees in a Dept ruled over by Dafydd. Eifion Jones will have known that there was a lobotomist employed in the Student Health Centre as well.

Eifion Jones will have been fully aware of the shenanigans in the Agriculture Dept and the circumstances under which one of the secretaries there, Mary Wynch, was wrongfully arrested and imprisoned by Dafydd and was subsequently ruined by Michael Howard when he was Home Secretary (see post ‘The Mary Wynch Case – Details’). Eifion will have known about the resident groper in the Agri Dept, Gordon Farley and Eifion I think was Dean of Science when the hopeless J.B. Owen was given a Chair in Agriculture, allegedly because his family had provided the cash which founded the Agriculture Dept back in the pre-Cambrian. But then Efion’s son-in-law’s father purchased his Chair and career as well, so it will have been business as usual for Eifion Jones.

Eifion is dead now, but if he were still alive he would no doubt be able to explain why Professor Richard Howarth, one of the washed-up old farts in the Agri Dept, was appointed an adviser to Thatch, but disappeared off the planet after Sir Peter Morrison was found dead in 1995.

The last time that I had an Eifion Jones Experience was in 2001 when I was doing my PGCE. Eifion was invited to give us all a talk on the construction of the Britannia Bridge, which was something that Eifion had a big interest in. I can imagine that some people could have given an interesting lecture on such a topic, but Eifion most definitely did not.

At the time, the paedophiles’ friends of yore were doing their best to organise a military coup to overthrow the acting VC, Meryn Jones. They would gather at public events to insult him. I used to hear their plans because I arrive for most things early and they would all be there plotting – they were all so pompous and grandiose that they used to ignore me. I heard everything… Plans to fit the VC up for a criminal offence, the spreading of scurrilous rumours regarding his personal conduct whilst his wife was dying, plans to put the boot in as soon as his wife was dead ‘because it’ll look bad if we get him when his wife is dying’, the plan to approach Prof Eric Sunderland – the previous VC and a paedophiles’ friend but one who was well-camouflaged – and enlist his help in terms of spreading the poison…

Eifion Jones was one of the Grand Plotters. One of a bunch of clapped-out friends of a paedophile gang who’s crimes were so serious that year after year after year and unto the next generation, people who were not mates with Dafydd et al had to have their lives destroyed.

To return to Mr Big at Hammersmith, Hugh Bentall. The heir to a posh version of M&S was not the only man who combined Trade with the Professions. Hugh’s colleague Professor Denis Melrose – the clinical physiologist who led the Hammersmith delegation to Moscow – did so as well.

Melrose was originally from Cape Town. He studied at Oxford University, then at UCH Medical School, qualifying in 1945. Like so many other paedophiles’ friends, Melrose joined the Royal Navy. He subsequently took up a lecturing post at the Dept of Surgery at Hammersmith/RPMS, under the Head of Dept Prof Ian Aird.

Aird and Melrose had ambitions to develop a heart-lung machine. A Hungarian refugee Francis Kellerman had established a medical instrument firm, New Electronic Projects – NEP –  and ‘in spite of severe financial constraints’ Kellerman collaborated with Melrose to design and manufacture what became known as the Melrose-NEP heart-lung machine. I have not discovered where Kellerman found the funding to develop the machine. The Melrose-NEP heart-lung machine was first used in the pioneering operation at Hammersmith on 17 April 1957. It was such a good advert that sales boomed and the Melrose-NEP machine was quickly used across the UK, then in New Zealand and in Australia. Melrose ‘gave great personal support to units starting to do open heart surgery’. Well he and his mates had invented the technique which was dependent upon the use of the machine which went ping which they had not only also invented but were marketing and selling. That machine will not have come cheap, it cost rather more than a pair of posh knickers sold by Bentall’s in Kingston-upon-Thames.

A group of Russians decided to buy a Melrose-NEP machine and this is why Bentall et al went to Moscow with a machine that went ping…

In Moscow, the Soviet Deputy PM Anastas Mikoyan greeted Melrose’s team, embraced who we are told was ‘the buxom theatre nurse’ Phyllis Bowtle, saying ‘Medicine is clean, politics are dirty’.

Not if Bentall, Hammersmith and Melrose are involved, particularly when they have machines that go ping to flog and a Gov’t in trouble in need of good PR…

Bentall, Melrose et al didn’t only invent open heart surgery and the machine that went ping to go with it – they invented something else as well. When open heart surgery was performed using Melrose’s heart-lung machine, the patient’s heart would remain beating during the operation. This didn’t make the surgery impossible, but it was a hassle for the surgeon. Therefore Melrose and his team developed a way of inducing cardiac arrest in the patient being operated upon by using a potassium citrate perfusion into heart. Potassium arrest is still used in open heart surgery, but these days St Thomas’s cardioplegic solution is used.

When I read that potassium citrate had been replaced by something else, I wondered if there were perhaps risks associated with inducing cardiac arrest by potassium citrate. Not according to the blurb one usually finds associated with Bentall et al’s operations at Hammersmith. The usual claim is that by 1984, 300 patients had been operated on at Hammersmith and that there had been no deaths.

Yet I found it clearly stated in a 1957 academic paper which reviewed the outcomes of open heart surgery patients at Hammersmith who had undergone elective cardiac arrest using Melrose’s heart-lung machine that out of 37 patients, 13 had died.

As Peter Cook would have said ‘Is that a fact? How very interesting.’

So the Hammersmith version of a McDonalds Happy Meal – open heart surgery, heart-lung machine, potassium citrate induced cardiac arrest – carried considerable risks for patients, yet those risks were air-brushed out of the picture at some point between 1957 and 1984.

I wonder if Hugh Bentall offered fries with that.

Prof Bill Cleland was the leading surgeon who was showcased in Moscow. Cleland was an Australian. After coming to the UK, he eventually became  consultant cardio-thoracic surgeon at King’s College Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital, 1948-77. Cleland was Director of the Dept of Surgery at the Institute for Diseases of the Chest (later known as the Cardio-Thoracic Institute, Royal Brompton Hospital), 1960-77. Cleland lectured and operated across Europe and the Middle East.

The Royal Brompton is another ‘leading medical institution’ in London. When I worked at St George’s, the dreadful Mandy Leigh and Dr Cathy Wilson (see previous posts) were researching in collaboration with the Royal Brompton. The process involved Mandy and Cathy spending much time swearing and cursing about the Royal Brompton and its alleged inadequacies, but Mandy and Cathy responded to the whole universe in that way, so it may not have been a reflection on the Royal Brompton.

Prof Bill Cleland’s son is a neurologist. I think that he is probably Dr Peter Cleland, who is now retired, but previously practised in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Peter Cleveland also worked for Nuffied, BUPA and Spire hospitals. There was a direct link between the paedophile gang which operated in the Newcastle area and Dafydd’s gang in north Wales. A number of mental health professionals from Newcastle-upon-Tyne went to work in north Wales with Dafydd and the paedophiles, including psychiatrist Dr Neil Davies and Professor Bob Woods of the School of Psychology at UCNW/Bangor University. Lord John Walton, Dafydd’s Big Mate who protected Dafydd for decades was a neurologist based in Newcastle (see post ‘The Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Connection?’).

Professor Ian Aird was Hugh Bentall’s senior colleague at Hammersmith/RPMS. Ian Aird trained at the University of Edinburgh and then worked at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh and also at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Aird served in the RAMC during WWII. In 1946 Aird was appointed Professor of Surgery at RPMS.

By all accounts, Aird was quite something. He became famous in 1953 for separating Nigerian Siamese twins, the first time that the operation had been carried out in the UK and he travelled across the world lecturing and operating. He is described as being hugely energetic and popular, but unusually for a surgeon, as ‘sensitive’.

In fact Ian Aird was so sensitive that it killed him. On 17 Sept 1962 he was found dead in his bed at Hammersmith Hospital. The cause of death was barbiturate poisoning. Prof Aird was said to have been taking barbiturates for depression.

So Prof Ian Aird – Bentall’s eminent senior colleague who did not join the PR trip to Moscow – died some 18 months after Bentall starred in the BBC documentary. Bentall purchased his Chair at RPMS less than two years after Ian Aird’s death.

Barbiturates were generously prescribed in the early 1960s, but the problem with barbiturates is that they are very toxic in overdose. Ian Aird would have known that.

Professor Ian Aird was working with a bunch of scoundrels who’s lying, cheating and dreadful behaviour permeated the whole of Hammersmith/RPMS 25 years later. Unlike some, Professor Aird did not purchase his Chair and career. Furthermore, Aird’s work eclipsed the work of the Hammersmith surgeon who did do that. Until of course Ian Aird died. Then the coast was clear for another Great Surgeon to emerge from Hammersmith.

Mary Wynch always maintained that her mother died of barbiturate poisoning in one of Dafydd’s ‘nursing homes’. But Mary was mad. Dafydd said so after he unlawfully imprisoned her for a year.

Here’s Professor Richard Bentall, following in his dad’s footsteps as an Eminent Academic…

I have mentioned before that the IVF pioneer Prof Bob Edwards was a former UCNW student, but Bangor University wouldn’t admit to being associated with Bob Edwards until he won his Nobel Prize. What Bangor did used to max out on though – to the entertainment of the students – was Roger Whittaker being a UCNW graduate. Roger often got a mention, but at graduation in either 1984 or 1985, UCNW really developed Roger-mania and Roger turned up in person. He strummed his guitar, he sung a few songs and he whistled. Welsh TV and the press were there and Roger was interviewed and explained how studying at UCNW was the best thing since sliced bread. Roger studied biochemistry at UCNW back in the dark ages. He doesn’t mention this much, but Roger and academia didn’t go too well together. Roger only went to UCNW because his grades were so bad that nowhere else offered him a place and he ended up with a Third. When the media asked Roger if he ever regretted following a career as a whistling folk musician rather than a biochemist, Roger didn’t admit that he was so bad at biochemistry that he couldn’t have been a biochemist, he maintained that his whistling made people happy and that was more important than anything else.

Roger’s whistling certainly made a gang of sex traffickers happy. Roger arrived in Bangor to provide much needed PR in the wake of Brown and I complaining about Gwynne the lobotomist and me writing to the GMC about him. There had also been three students who had attempted suicide after encountering Gwynne and an Agri student had hung himself in one of the halls of residence. Goodness what that was all about, there was never any info provided, other than that one of the cleaners found his body.

One of Roger’s hits was ‘I’ve Got To Leave Old Durham Town’, which is what Professor Eric Sunderland did when the paedophile gang sent up a distress flare in 1984 and asked him to be Principal of UCNW. According to Roger’s wiki entry, he began his musical career when he was a student at Bangor, 1959-62, by singing in local clubs. Roger gave away a Flexi disc with the Bangor student newspaper, the ‘Bangor University Rag’. Roger seems to be telling porkies with regard to this. There were no clubs in Bangor until 1984. Even if we give Roger the benefit of the doubt and entertain the notion that in the early 60s, Bangor was not a tiny Welsh town rather inaccessible to much of Wales yet alone the rest of the UK, but a thriving metropolis where night was turned into neon day with streets thronging with nightclubs, strip joints and casinos, with a Chinatown and branches of all the best stores, Roger’s story still doesn’t add up. Bangor University wasn’t called Bangor University until many years after Roger graduated. It was UCNW until well after I graduated in 1984, its next incarnation was as the University of Wales, Bangor and in 2007 it became Bangor University. So whatever Roger Whittaker did when he was a student, he did not give away Flexi discs with a student newspaper called the ‘Bangor University Rag’.

However, Roger will have been a student at UCNW with the Burmese Generals – or as Brown called them ‘the Welsh gerontocracy’ – who subsequently ran Bangor, who doubled up as paedophiles’ friends and who attempted the military coup some 10 years ago. No wonder they dined out on Roger being a UCNW graduate and invited him back to do his whistling when there was a Challenge To Gwynne.

This morning I was reading a copy of the i newspaper from last Friday when I was faced with an interview with Ken Clarke, as part of the i’s ‘NHS at 70’ celebrations. Ken Clarke has featured extensively on this blog, so I won’t repeat his crimes here. Suffice to say that in just about every capacity in which he has been employed, Clarke colluded with and concealed serious crime in the NHS, including that of Dafydd and the paedophiles and the charmers at St George’s.

Ken reminisced about his time as Health Minister and then, from July 1988, Health Secretary, to the i. He of course remembered his famous battles with the BMA. Ken told the i that the BMA was ‘the most ruthless and determined opponent I ever faced’ and that they ‘were completely ruthless and unscrupulous’.

Before I realised what D.G.E. Wood and Tony Francis were doing to me without my knowledge, I used to chat to them a great deal about medicine and politics and of course about Ken Clarke. It’s how I found out how fond of Dr Death DGE Wood was. At the time of the BMA’s famous advertising campaign which involved an ad with the slogan ‘What do you call a man who ignores medical advice?’ ‘Ken Clarke’, I told Wood that the Tories were going to lose the battle with the BMA, although they probably deserved to win it. I quipped to Wood that all the BMA needed to do if Ken Clarke didn’t do exactly what they told him to do was to invite the TV cameras into the neonatal ward of any hospital and film all those babies being cared for by Angels. Ken Clarke would lose hands down. Wood laughed more loudly than I had ever heard him laugh before and smugly said ‘it’s called political muscle and we’ve got more of it than anyone else’.

Wood and his colleagues were running a sex trafficking ring which was murdering witnesses and Ken Clarke knew it. Clarke took on the BMA to a far great extent than any other Health Secretary ever has, but he didn’t win. The fight ended in stalemate because some of the BMA members were facilitating the paedophile gang which was supplying underaged children to a whole selection of people, including Gov’t Ministers and two friends of Thatcher’s. Ken knew it and he knew what was happening at Hammersmith Hospital as well.

Ken told the i last Friday that the NHS had been transformed by the Tory Gov’ts of which he was a part and as an example of the transformation, Ken reminded the i that ‘you had awful old fashioned asylums who were dealing with people who were mentally ill’.

The awful old fashioned asylum in Denbigh was illegally imprisoning the victims of the paedophile gang which Ken was ignoring in a dungeon.

Ken’s solution? It was to do a deal with the BMA for their mutual benefit – which involving destroying the careers of me and a number of my friends who had found out some of what was going on in north Wales and allowing Carlo’s mate the Duke of Westminster to buy a piece of real estate in Knightsbridge worth millions for £6000 (see post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’).

Nice one Ken! The Chancellor of the Exchequer has just announced that the Treasury has completely run out of money – it’s all been given to the NHS. The lot. Nothing left. Mentally ill people are just as badly off as when they were left to rot in Denbigh and every Dept of Children’s Social Services in the UK has been hijacked by sex trafficking gangs. The health outcomes for certain cohorts in much of the UK are some of the worst in Europe.

What an achievement.

Ken Clarke. Westminster’s answer to Edwina Hart. They knew what was going on, they tried to stand up to the Top Doctors, but because they were both so desperate to be PM/FM and didn’t dare lose the support of the caring sharing NHS they didn’t see it through. Instead they did deals with child abusers and killers.

Ken Clarke did not become PM. Edwina did not become FM. A lot of people died.

I note that Richard Bentall has passed through Swansea University, as well as the paedophiles’ friends’ favourites Bangor, Liverpool and Manchester Universities. Swansea University was the playground of Rhodri Morgan and Edwina Hart. It was also part of Lord Brian Flowers’ train set. Other institutions which Brian Flowers were given to play with were Hammersmith/RPMS and Manchester University.

Never mind, Richard Bentall is leading a research team developing interventions which his colleagues admit don’t work.

The social worker daughter of one of Dafydd’s henchmen who worked as an Angel at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh was given a job as a senior social worker in the Office of the Children’s Commissioner for Wales, an Office which was established on the recommendation of Sir Ronnie Waterhouse to ensure that It Never Happens Again.

The son of one Mr Big at Hammersmith who concealed an even bigger vat of worms, including the criminal activity in north Wales, is a Professor of Clinical Psychology who is dedicating his career to Liberating Service Users. Whether Richard Bentall’s family business made generous donations to the Universities of Bangor, Liverpool and Manchester in return for Richard’s Chairs I have no idea.

‘The Morning Star’ today is looking to Dave Prentis, the General Secretary of UNISON, to lead the 70th anniversary celebrations of the NHS in style. Dave Prentis has been General Secretary since 2001. Prentis was appointed Deputy General Secretary of UNISON upon it’s formation in 1993 from the merger of NALGO, NUPE and COHSE. Many of those who abused children in north Wales were members of NALGO and NUPE. Some of the abusers were shop stewards of those unions. Those unions provided full protection for their members even after they had admitted to, or had been convicted of, serious offences against children. One NALGO rep who had abused children managed to produce a letter from a psychiatrist which enabled him to retire on favourable terms re financial provision. Numerous staff at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh were members of COHSE. David Williams, the General Secretary of COHSE, was a former Angel from the North Wales Hospital. Dafydd’s henchman led the union. See post ‘A Very COHSE Relationship With Some Very Nasty People’.

See you at the party Dave!
