Lest We Forget

Recent posts eg. ‘The Battle For The Labour Party’s Soul’, ‘Lord Snooty The Third’ and ‘Sons And Lovers’ named some of the people based in London who ensured that the supply of disadvantaged kids from that city into the arms of Dafydd’s gang in north Wales to be abused and trafficked remained unhindered. Dafydd had links in London from his time ‘training’ at the Maudsley, but there were many other links between unscrupulous professional people in Wales and London as well.

One of the biggest and best rogues who oiled the wheels of the whole machine was Frederick Elwyn Jones, Baron Elwyn-Jones, known as Elwyn Jones was one of the crooked barristers from Wales who concealed the crimes of Dafydd and the gang and who served as a Labour MP and then sat as a Labour peer.

Elwyn Jones was born in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, where organised abuse had existed for a long time. By the 1970s, the gang in West Wales had direct links to Dafydd et al in north Wales. Ioan Bowen Rees served as the County Secretary for Dyfed County Council from 1973/4 and then relocated to Gwynedd County Council. Ioan was Chief Exec of Gwynedd County Council, 1981-91. When Ioan was forced to hold an investigation into the abuse of children in children’s homes in Gwynedd in the early 1980s, Ioan commissioned a team of ‘senior officers’ from Dyfed to carry out the investigation; they were Ioan’s mates who unsurprisingly reassured everyone that there were no serious problems regarding the abuse of children in care in Gwynedd. See post ‘I Know Nuzzing…’.
Meri Huws, the Welsh Language Commissioner who in the 1980s worked as a Gwynedd social worker and who’s patch covered the Ty’r Felin children’s home – where children were abused and trafficked, including to Dolphin Square – grew up in Henllan, Carmarthenshire.
Numerous other people involved in Dafydd’s gang or in concealing their crimes, including many politicians, had/have links to West Wales, as detailed in previous posts.
Elwyn Jones read History for a year at what is now Aberystwyth University and then at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. He was a Recorder of Merthyr Tydfil and was also a broadcaster and journalist. Elwyn Jones served as junior British Counsel during the Nuremberg Trials and led for the prosecution at the Hamburg trial of Marshal Erich von Manstein in 1948.

In 1966, Elwyn Jones led the prosecution of the Moors murderers, Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, at the Chester Assizes. Jones’s junior at Brady and Hindley’s trial was Ronnie Waterhouse. The trial of the Moors Murderers involved some of the barristers who spent their careers colluding with Dafydd’s gang and who built their careers on their celeb status which resulted from that trial. See previous posts. One of those who was in the public gallery who watched the trial and many years later was still telling people how the whole Court was in tears during the trial of Evil Myra, was a lady called Ingrid, who was a student Angel. Ingrid spent the rest of her career as an Angel at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh, overseeing the victims of a paedophile gang whom Dafydd had illegally imprisoned. Which was why Ingrid probably could not cope with her own emotions when I told her what Dafydd et al were up to and ran off in tears telling me that she was deeply insulted because they all Cared.

Ingrid was one of the Angels who accompanied me to Bangor Magistrates Court after Dafydd et al forced a junior doctor to make a complaint to the police alleging that I had ‘tried to throttle’ him. I was ordered to be detained in Denbigh for ‘assessment’ after committing such an ‘Orrible Crime, after which of course the junior doctor withdrew his complaint against me and all charges were dropped. I had by that time been deemed mad n dangerous by Dafydd, so I therefore stayed in Denbigh. I now have documentary evidence of the whole fit up (see previous posts). Ingrid witnessed everything.

When Dafydd subsequently ordered me to be released from Denbigh and for Angels to drive me to the nearest train station and physically put me on a train to London after telling me that if I ever returned to north Wales I would be arrested, Ingrid was one of the Angels who drove me to the station and stood guard as I boarded the train.

When Dafydd’s mate Professor Robert Bluglass finally Chaired the Inquiry into my complaint about Dafydd et al in 1989 (see post ‘Enter Professor Robert Bluglass CBE), Bluglass told me that he had ‘particularly wanted’ to take evidence from Ingrid but that she had refused to attend. They were all such a bunch of liars that I don’t know what the truth was. However, Ingrid knew all about the trafficking ring that Dafydd et al were running and she will have known that it was the very same lawyers who concealed the crimes of Dafydd et al who became famous after their involvement in the trial of Evil Myra and Brady.

It was Ingrid who told me that the young men who had been abused in the children’s homes in north Wales who made complaints about Dafydd lying about them, having them arrested and imprisoned and then detained for years in Denbigh, were ‘lucky’ to have Dafydd, ‘because no-one else would bother with those boys’.

Help! royalty-free stock photo

Well Ingrid, after I complained about Gwynne the lobotomist and made it clear to Dafydd that I wasn’t interested in shagging him either, Jeff Crowther told me that the Top Doctors had ‘run out of patience’ with me and that none of them were ‘going to help’.

Stephen Bagnall died in front of all of you Ingrid (see post ‘Hey, Hey DAJ, How Many Kids Did You Kill Today?’), as did many others. Where are their bodies?

No wonder so many Angels in north Wales spent so much of their time stressing how they had Cried when they found the body/heard about the death and lost their tempers with patients and reacted in an inexplicable manner to so many situations. They spent their working lives among complete madness and horror.

She couldn't go on stock photo

How did Dorothy Griffiths die then Jackie Ehlen? ‘Drowned in the bath after locking herself in the bathroom’ after her parents refused to allow her to be transferred to Denbigh. Why were the accounts that you, Sadie Francis and Dr Colin Flood gave to the coroner ALL different?? And why did the results from the path lab say something different again? Perhaps Jeff Crowther can help us all out, he was the person who broke down the door and found Dorothy’s body. Or at least that’s what the official account said. See post ‘Inside Information About A Hergest Unit Death’.
Dorothy died AFTER yet another truly damning report about the psych wards in Ysbyty Gwynedd; they had been deemed a serious risk to patients. In response to the report, a Psychiatric Services Management Committee was formed, comprised of Tony Francis, Barry Shingles and Alun Davies. Alun Davies is the only one of these three still alive. Francis and Shingles both committed suicide.

Now here comes Dr DA to visit the latest young female patient whom he illegally imprisoned. Yes it’s 2 am and the patient is fast asleep in bed, but none of the Angels are even going to comment on this.

When Dafydd turned up at Denbigh to visit me at gone midnight after having me unlawfully arrested, the Charge Nurse Mike Williams got me out of bed. When I asked Dafydd what the hell he wanted, Dafydd told me that he had driven 60 miles to see me. I told him that if he hadn’t have had me arrested he wouldn’t have had to have bothered. Mike Williams told me that he thought that I was being a bit harsh on Dafydd.

‘There is no evidence that there was a sex abuse ring operating in north Wales which was concealed at Gov’t level.’

‘It was different in those days’. No it wasn’t, in 1986 mad old doctors were not to supposed to proposition young female patients, have them unlawfully arrested and imprisoned when they said no and then appear in the female dorms in the middle of the night out of the kindness of their hearts.

Elwyn-Jones served as the Labour MP for two East End constituencies, Plaistow, 1945-50 and then years later, West Ham South, a seat he held for a short while in 1974.

Children from the East End were sent to children’s homes in north Wales throughout the 1970s and 80s, where many of them were seriously abused and then trafficked. See previous posts.

In 1964, Elwyn Jones was sworn of the Privy Council and appointed Attorney General for England and Wales by Harold Wilson, a post that Jones held until 1970. The Moors Murderers trial was famous for being the trial in which the AG himself led the prosecution.

Jones left the Commons in 1974, soon after he was elected as the MP for Newham South, because he was made a life peer. Lord Elwyn-Jones then served as Lord Chancellor, 1974-79, under Harold Wilson and Jim Callaghan. The Lord Chancellor is a member of the Cabinet and, by law, is responsible for the efficient functioning and independence of the courts.

Elwyn Jones was Lord Chancellor when his pal Ronnie Waterhouse was appointed a High Court judge in 1978. He was Lord Chancellor when Dafydd’s gang rapidly expanded their trafficking business in north Wales and when hundreds of children were sent to north Wales children’s homes from metropolitan boroughs, including those in inner London. Elwyn-Jones was Lord Chancellor when Mary Wynch was unlawfully arrested and imprisoned by Dafydd et al and he was of course in that post when a few other notorious things happened eg. the fitting up of the Birmingham Six and many others. Numerous deaths of kids in care and psych patients in Risley Remand Centre who had been arrested on trumped-up charges also happened on Elwyn’s watch (see post ‘Include Me Out’).

Looks like Elwyn let a few things slip through his fingers.

Hansard recorded the tributes paid to Elwyn Jones after he died in Dec 1989.

The Lord Privy Seal, Lord Belstead, kicked off the proceedings. Lord Belstead aka John Ganzoni was a Tory peer who was Leader of the Lords, 1988-90, under Thatch.  Ganzoni was the only son of Sir John Ganzoni, a barrister and the Tory MP for Ipswich who was later created Baron Belstead. The 2nd Baron Belstead, John Ganzoni, ‘showed little interest in politics and waited six years after succeeding to the peerage on his father’s death in 1958 before making his maiden speech’. So that will have been why Ted Heath made Ganzoni a junior Minister in the Dept of Education under Thatch, then a junior Minister in the N Ireland Office. When Thatch became PM, she gave Ganzoni a Ministerial job in the Home Office and he was then moved to the Foreign Office after Lord Carrington resigned in the wake of the invasion of the Falklands. After that Belstead was of the MAFF, then it was back to the Dept of Education and then Deputy Leader of the Lords when Willie Whitelaw as Leader, while Willie colluded with Dafydd et al in north Wales. Then Belstead succeeded Willie as Leader of the Lords! In 1990 the man who had shown sod all interest in politics became Paymaster General and N Ireland Office Minister under John Major. Bless! In 1992, Belstead retired from the Government to become Chairman of the Parole Board, which was packed to the rafters with people like Robert Bluglass and Colin Berry, who had directly concealed the crimes of Dafydd and the gang. After the House of Lords Act 1999 removed the right of hereditary peers to sit in the Lords, Belstead was given a life peerage and went right back in there again. John Ganzoni’s hereditary peerage and baronetcy became extinct when he died in Dec 2005, because he was a Bachelor who had not been blessed with children. John Ganzoni was an active Freemason and President of the Board of General Purposes for the United Grand Lodge of England. This mate of Dafydd’s had been appointed as Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk on 2 April 1979.

Lord Belstead dies, aged 73 | Latest Suffolk and Essex ...

Belstead began:

…Lord Elwyn-Jones came to your Lordships’ House as Lord Chancellor in 1974… immediately he endeared himself to the whole House: his great charm and wise counsel will be sorely missed not only by his close political friends and colleagues but by my noble and learned friend on the Woolsack, by members of the legal profession and by all your Lordships.

Elwyn, as we came to know him, held strong views and debated with passion but never with personal rancour. He had a lightness of touch which sometimes made one forget his capacity for sheer hard work. After taking part as prosecutor in the Nuremberg war trials, he served as Member of Parliament for 30 years…while building up his legal practice. He was Attorney-General from 1964 to 1970 with a heavy workload and Lord Chancellor from 1974 to 1979. As Lord Chancellor he was skilful in balancing the legitimate interests of the executive and the judiciary. He maintained a steady flow of law reform measures including—and I think that this was very close to his heart—the Children Act of 1975.

Little wonder that none of those complaints about kids from London or indeed elsewhere being abused in north Wales ever got anywhere or indeed that virtually no lawyers would touch such cases, not even those with Radical Consciences. The Children Act 1975 resulted from the hard work of Leo Abse, who used Jim and Audrey Callaghan and Dr Death to get it through Parliament (see post ‘Cry, The Beloved Country’). It was the Children Act 1975 that caused so many children to be placed in children’s homes in north Wales.

Leo Abse was a close friend of George Thomas, the child molesting Labour MP for Cardiff Central and then Cardiff West, 1945-83, who served as Speaker, 1976-83. Abse was a bent lawyer who was the Labour MP for Pontypool and then Torfaen, 1958-87; Abse threatened and paid off witnesses to/victims of Thomas’s crimes and also lied to the media when Thomas found himself on thin ice (see post ‘It Wasn’t On Our Radar’). Abse himself was investigated for historical abuse. Abse came from a Jewish family with many lawyers/Top Doctors/analysts among them. See previous posts.

Lord Cledwyn of Penrhos spoke after Belstead’s gushing. Lord Cledwyn was a long-standing friend of the Windbags and before that Glenys’s parents. Cledwyn was the Labour MP for Anglesey, 1951-79 and someone else who concealed the crimes of Dafydd’s gang in a very direct way (see previous posts eg. ‘How Much Greater Is A Man than A Sheep?’):

Elwyn was one of three outstanding brothers brought up in the great Welsh nonconformist tradition….We know that he was devoted to his profession of law and to Gray’s Inn…

Dafydd’s mate and protector Sir William Mars-Jones was a big wig in Gray’s Inn. Ronnie Waterhouse was a junior in Mars-Jones’s Chambers. The Mars-Jones’s were a farming family from Denbighshire and while Sir William did his stuff in London, the rest of the clan defended the interests of Dafydd and the gang on their home turf of north Wales. See previous posts.

I had the privilege of instructing Elwyn when he was a junior barrister on the Welsh circuit…

Really?? The Windbags’ big pal instructed the little crook that was Elwyn, who was later the Man At The Top with regard to the Mary Wynch scandal??? Did the Windbags know about this?

…His place in Welsh history is certainly secure, not least because he was the first Welsh speaking Lord Chancellor for centuries…

Pity about all those other Welsh speakers who suffered so much because of Elwyn’s desire to do the bidding of the English establishment.

Even before the war, as a young barrister, his passion for human rights impelled him to travel to Austria and elsewhere where those rights were imperilled. His appointment to prosecute at Nuremberg was, in a sense, a natural sequel to his experiences before and during the war. The Holocaust, the suffering of Jewish people in Europe, was never far from his mind…

Sadly a number of unscrupulous people made capital out of their role in the Nuremberg trials, built careers and reputations and subsequently rather let themselves down. Whenever a bent lawyer or an abusive Angel excused themselves with ‘I’m just doing my job’,  Patient F delighted in telling them ‘that wasn’t an excuse at Nuremberg and it is not an excuse now’. No, it wasn’t, but it was a phrase that a great many of them used because they could not defend their actions.

Those who had the privilege of his friendship will not forget him. His kindness, his compassion and his sense of humour will remain with us. We shall miss that beautiful voice that we came to know so well.

Bechod!! Elwyn fitted people up in the language of heaven! Yma O Hyd!

I shall always think of him as a young man, because even at the age of 80 he was young in his attitudes and in his outlook. Age did not wither him

Oh please, this is ridiculous, he wasn’t a fallen soldier, he was a crooked lawyer who assisted a gang of paedophiles.

Now for a laugh. After Cledwyn’s nonsense, it was the turn of Woy, Lord Jenkins of Hillhead, one of the Gang Of Four and another loyal paedophiles’ friend to pay tribute (see post ‘We’ve Been Expecting You…’):

[Elwyn’s] life’s work could, I suppose, be said to be complete.

Indeed, none of you ever went to prison or lost your jobs and pensions.

His career of public service is the now rare classical example of a great lawyer politician—barrister at 25, MP at 34, QC at 43, Attorney-General at 54, Lord Chancellor at 64, and then ten years of exceptional subsequent devotion to this House in Opposition…

It’s incredible what can be achieved by keeping one’s mouth shut.

…Yet there is much of the poignancy of a younger life cut off about his going.

Here we go again, the fallen soldier in the first flush of youth…

I think it was because he was so vividly, so acutely and yet so benignly among us until very recently. Only a few months ago he looked and sounded the model of what many of us, without much confidence, might hope to be at the end of our eighth decade…

If I live that long I very much do not want to be anything like Elwyn.

I worked closely with him during his two periods of high office.

Here comes the confession…

For two years while he was Attorney I was Home Secretary, the Commons Member of the Cabinet whose responsibilities are most closely intermingled with legal processes. For half the time that he sat on the Woolsack I was again Home Secretary. It is well known that the responsibilities of the Home Office and of the Lord Chancellor’s Department are entwined with more closeness than logic.

Woy, a bisexual swinger himself, covered up for Dafydd’s trafficking gang throughout his career, but particularly when he was Home Secretary.

After Woy, Baroness Stedman had a go. Phyllis Stedman began her political career in 1946, when she was elected as a County Councillor for Labour in Peterborough. She served on the Council until 1976. In 1972, Stedman was appointed to the Peterborough New Town Development Corporation. She bagged her peerage in 1974. This was seen as a way of bolstering Harold Wilson’s Labour Party in the Lords. Stedman served briefly as a junior Minister under Callaghan, for Sport and Water Resources. Stedman defected to Dr Death’s crew on the formation of the SDP in 1981. She became the SDP’s Chief Whip in the Lords in 1986. Most of the SDP peers opposed the Party’s merger with the Liberals in 1988, remaining loyal to Dr Death who was in a huff. Phyllis led the peers into Dr Death’s continuing-SDP and served as its leader in the Lords. When Dr Death came to grief at the hands of the Monster Raving Loony Party in the 1990 Bootle by-election and the continuing SDP was dissolved, Stedman became a crossbencher. The Monster Raving Loony Party polling more votes than Dr Death’s continuing-SDP eclipsed a far more worrying fact; that the Bootle by-election resulted from the death of the Labour MP Michael Carr after just 57 days in office, at the hands of Walton Hospital. Michael Carr had fought Militant. Walton Hospital was pretty much run by Militant, with a helping hand from Dafydd’s associates. The staff at Walton were considered to have been so criminally negligent that a case for prosecuting them was made. The case bounced around for months between two successive DPPs and in the end a tame coroner put an end to the chance of a prosecution. See post ‘News From Sicily’.

Militant had of course been Bravely Seen Off long before Michael Carr was killed by their supporters in the NHS.

BBC Radio 4 - Desert Island Discs, Neil Kinnock

Here are Stedman’s pearls:

…Elwyn Jones…was always so kind and courteous,

Another piece of bara brith Baroness?? It’s home made…

…He was a superb raconteur with a very wide range of humorous stories. I remember the long nights and the all-night sittings on the devolution Bills when Elwyn could be relied upon to dispel any tetchiness on the Front Bench in the early hours of the morning with a humourous aside or a whispered anecdote.

Have you heard the one about the lobotomist, the Speaker of the House and the 10 year old boy???

…As an MP he served his constituency faithfully…

We won’t mention the children of his constituents who were sent into the arms of a gang of paedophiles and of how all complaint was suppressed…

One can almost say that his interests were world-wide, and he enjoyed travelling to far away places….

To Turkish Baths?? To the Far East??

He was always willing to extend a friendly hand to political friend and foe alike, to the most humble of his constituents

Except for those bound for Dafyddville obviously.

and to the highest in the land. He retained the common touch…

Gawd Bless ‘im.

Our sympathy goes out to his widow, herself in hospital at this time.

Lady Elwyn-Jones won’t have been in Denbigh or Ysbyty Gwynedd. The London Clinic or Tommy’s possibly…

Next up for paying tribute was Lord Wilberforce. Richard Wilberforce was the great-great-grandson of the abolitionist William Wilberforce, ‘a family connexion which had much influence on Wilberforce’. Not that Richard was quite the man that his great-great-granddad was, but being a descendent of William Wilberforce was really brilliant for PR purposes. Richard was a graduate of New College, Oxford, a favourite recruiting ground for the security services. Wilberforce was called to the Bar at Middle Temple and was a senior member of Middle Temple when Ronnie Waterhouse was a whippersnapper there. Wilberforce was a lifelong Fellow of All Souls. The poor dear always found that his income was limited, having only his earnings from the Bar to get by on because he lacked ‘family connections’. That is the downside of one’s ancestor freeing the slaves. After his war service, Wilberforce returned to the Bar and acted for the Foreign Office in a number of high profile cases. He was the British legal member of the International Civil Aviation Organisation and was appointed a CMG for services in relation to the Warsaw Convention. Wilberforce became a High Court judge in 1961 and in 1964 was appointed a Law Lord, in which capacity he served until 1982. He is the only England and Wales judge in recent times to have been appointed to the Lords straight from the High Court Bench, without serving in the Court of Appeal. Wilberforce was Chancellor of Hull University, 1978-94. When he was younger, he stood as a Conservative Parliamentary candidate. Wilberforce died in 2003, so he was around to oil the wheels until well after the Waterhouse Report was published.

Wilberforce kicked off with:

Lord Elwyn-Jones… was valued on account of his warm-hearted humanity and his strongly felt sense of justice.

Que???

…In later years we came to appreciate his experience and common sense when he came to sit as a judge, an activity which I think he greatly appreciated.

He’ll have had a great time.

Then it was the turn of the Lord Bishop of St. Albans, John Taylor! John Taylor succeeded Robert Runcie as Bishop of St Albans in 1980. It has now been admitted that Runcie concealed many abusive clergy in the Anglican Church, including while he served as Archbishop of Canterbury, 1980-91. While Runcie was Archbish, two successive Bishops of Bangor, Gwilym Williams and Cledan Mears, were fully on board with Dafydd. Rowan Williams, who followed in the footsteps of that lot and who learned at their knee, also knows something about Dafydd’s gang (see previous posts).

Spot the difference:

Bishop John Taylor told the Lords:

…I learnt of the death of Lord Elwyn-Jones just two minutes before taking prayers yesterday. I felt instant regret that the traditions of this House did not allow me an opportunity to voice the prayers of those present at the loss of so distinguished a Member…

Dafydd used to tell journos that his children said their prayers at night ‘and I’m rather proud of that’. To which F responded ‘pride’s a sin’. But then so is abduction and sexual assault. And indeed murder.

…as a very nervous newcomer to your Lordships’ House I stood up here four years ago to make my maiden speech…I began by saying that before I was Bishop of St. Albans I was Archdeacon of West Ham. “Hear, hear” came the words of a benevolent gentleman on the Front Bench opposite to encourage me on my way and I instantly guessed who he must be.

Elwyn had control of the Church as well…

His twinkling eyes, his disarming smile, those expressive eyebrows, his rubicund countenance and his avuncular generosity made him for me the very personification of kindliness.

The boys in Bryn Estyn and Bryn Alyn might have disagreed there: Gang raped whilst Jimmy Savile looked on, forced to have sex with men at gunpoint, found dead hanging from nooses at various locations or after being hit by cars or lorries…

And behind it all was the acute legal mind, the penetrating advocacy, demonstrated from the days of his time as president of the Cambridge Union to his time as Lord Chancellor—brilliance clothed in warm humanity.

Some of these people actually knew what Elwyn Jones had concealed in north Wales.

I believe that I may speak with authority because the people of his constituency in Plaistow and Newham South were the people of my constituency.

Dafydd et al had it all sewn up.

I know how well they will be mourning him now. Perhaps I may be privileged to voice their gratitude for the way in which—and from the totally different culture of the Welsh Valleys—he identified completely with the aspirations, the needs and the interests of those great East Londoners…

Why was a Bishop in the House of Lords speaking for those in the East End BEFORE he has consulted them?

…In him the bishops have lost an unfailing friend.

Would the Anglican Church like to expand on this?

I know that Lord Elwyn-Jones featured in the prayers of many of us here during his illness in the hope that he would be upheld by God and maybe spared. But now he remains in our thoughts as we commend him to God, the loving and merciful Father, before whom he would not dream of pleading his own cause.

Elwyn might not have been at the side of the loving and merciful father as Bishop John presumed. God might have had enough.

I really don’t have time to remind readers of the excesses of that old git, just see previous posts – Hailsham was a protector of Dafydd and the gang who went back to the dawn of Dafydd’s career – and bear in mind that Lord Hailsham was the man who bellowed at a group of journos after the Argies had surrendered that it was God wot won the war for us, although Hailsham said it in Latin. … I shall always owe to him an immense debt of gratitude because of his kindness to me. It was of a particular kind when in 1978 I returned from Australia absolutely shattered by a personal bereavement. My sympathy goes out to his family in proportion to what he did for me then.

None of this lot showed a jot of concern for those kids in care or psych patients who’s corpses littered north Wales or indeed their loved ones…

Lady Elwyn-Jones was previously known as Pearl ‘Polly’ Binder; she married Elwyn Jones in 1937. Pearl Binder died just weeks after her husband. Pearl Binder is described as a ‘writer, illustrator, playwright, stained-glass artist, lithographer, sculptor and a champion of the Pearly Kings and Queens’. She was a ‘legendary character’ who had a ‘lifelong fascination’ with the East End of London, where she settled in the 1920s.

The Poor are just such fun!

Polly Binder was born in Salford. Her father was Jacob Binderevski, a Russian-Ukrainian Jewish tailor. Binder moved to London after WWI and studied at the Central School of Art and Design. She published a series of lithographs that illustrated “The Real East End” by Thomas Burke, a popular writer who ran a pub in Poplar at the time. In 1933 Binder was one of the founders of the left-wing Artists’ International Association.

In 1937 Binder was involved in the earliest days of TV broadcasting for children. Also in 1937, she co-presented a live six-part series which was the first TV programme on the history of fashion. Pearl Binder was expecting a baby soon after the end of the last programme and could well have been the first heavily pregnant woman to appear on television. Polly was one of those many breakers of glass ceilings who ignored a lot of screams on their upward trajectory through the roof.

Binder travelled extensively in Russia and China, designed a musical, designed costumes for a theatre company, wrote stories for children, designed a mug and plate for Wedgwood and instigated and executed 22 armorial windows at the House of Lords. Binder died in Brighton on 25 January 1990 aged 86, seven weeks after the death of her husband.

Lord and Lady Elwyn-Jones both lasted until the end of the 1980s to assist with keeping the lid nailed firmly down on the serious criminality in north Wales.

Elwyn and Polly had three children: Josephine, Lou and Dan. Josephine was a researcher on Jacob Bronowski’s TV series ‘The Ascent of Man’. Jacob Bronowski was a Polish-born mathematician and historian. He is best known as the presenter and writer of the thirteen part 1973 BBC TV documentary series and accompanying book, ‘The Ascent of Man’, which led to him being regarded as “one of the world’s most celebrated intellectuals”. Python took the piss out of Bronowski by stating simply that ‘he knows everything’. I cannot understand how one of the world’s most celebrated intellectuals failed to notice Jimmy Savile cluttering up the BBC.

Bronowski’s family moved to Germany and then to England while he was a child. He was a Cambridge graduate who taught maths at what is now Hull University, 1934-42. Hull University provided a home for many paedophiles’ friends (see previous posts). Bronowski’s wiki entry tells us that ‘Beginning in this period, the British secret service MI5 placed him under surveillance believing he was a security risk, which may have restricted his access to senior posts in the UK.’ Which sounds to me like a tall story spread around by MI5 themselves to detract from suspicions that Bronowski was, er, working for MI5.

The man whom MI5 had under surveillance because they didn’t trust the bugger worked in operations research for the UK’s Ministry of Home Security during WWII, where he developed approaches to bombing strategy for RAF Bomber Command.

Just to show how much MI5 distrusted Bronowski, at the end of the war, Bronowski was part of a British team of scientists and civil engineers who visited Japan to document the effects of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki for the purpose of studying the effects of the atomic bomb and its implications for future UK civil defence. Bronowski, in conjunction with Professor W. N. Thomas of the University of Cardiff, subsequently produced the secret “Report of the British Mission to Japan on an Investigation of the Effects of the Atomic Bombs Dropped at Hiroshima and Nagasaki” which was passed to various Gov’t departments and consulted in the design of future UK public buildings.

Following his experiences of the after-effects of the Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombings, Bronowski discontinued his work for British military research and turned to biology, as did his friend Leo Szilard and many other physicists of that time, ‘to better understand the nature of violence’. From 1950 to 1963 Bronowski worked for the National Coal Board, where he became the Director of Research. From 1963 he was a resident fellow of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in San Diego.

Bronowski died in 1974 and his place as a Know All and National Treasure on the serious bits of the BBC was eventually taken by his daughter, Lisa Jardine. Jardine was an early modern scholar and Professor of Renaissance Studies at Queen Mary University of London, 1990-2011. In September 2012, Lisa relocated to UCL, taking her research centre and staff with her.

From 2008 to January 2014, Jardine was Chair of the HFEA (Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority), which it has now been admitted was not doing what it should have been doing. Lisa did not stop the Top Doctors from ripping desperate fertility patients off and lying about their success rates.

When very young, Lisa won a maths scholarship to Cheltenham Ladies College and later studied at Newnham College, Cambridge and the University of Essex. Lisa was of course ‘fluent in eight languages (including Greek and Latin)’ and absolutely wonderful at everything from history to maths, as she used to remind people during her numerous Radio 4 broadcasts.

Jardine recalled that she initially found her father’s celebrity something of a burden, noting that she was “very, very conscious” of being his daughter, although I have a sneaking suspicion that Lisa might have reaped a few benefits from being Jacob Bronowski’s daughter…

Anyone for a regular stint at the BBC? Or for being a celeb historian who Chairs the HFEA and knows so little about what the Top Docs are up to in their clinics that it’s a free-for-all?

‘Now don’t you worry my dear, we’ll look after you after conning Lisa here who doesn’t know her arse from her elbow and has never sat in one of our labs and witnessed what we are actually getting up to…’ (see post ‘Every Sperm Is Sacred – Particularly In Scotland’).

In 1969, when Lisa married the Cambridge academic Nicholas Jardine, ‘she was relieved to assume her husband’s surname’ because she was so keen to disguise the fact that her dad was Jacob. Lisa was always so relieved that No-One Realised! So one wonders why the first thing that everyone always says about Lisa – and always said – was and still is ‘oh she’s Jacob Bronowski’s daughter’. I was the only person on earth who didn’t know this and I found out because when I was talking about elites to a senior sociologist at Bangor University, he named Lisa Jardine as being the ultimate example and said ‘Jacob Bronowski’s daughter’. But I never know who anyone is, I even interviewed the Governor of the BBC without realising it, although I did notice that he was very good at history.

Strange but true

Jardine was raised in a secular Jewish household, but when appointed as the new Chair of the HFEA, she expressed her loyalty to her observant grandparents’ Orthodox faith, which she described as going back “all the way back to whenever – Abraham” and her reluctance to clash with the Catholic Church on embryology. Which was all a red herring anyway, the real problem was that the Top Doctors were lying, fleecing people and some of them were putting patients’ health at risk. Lord Bob Winston is Jewish. Was Lisa perhaps trying to ingratiate herself to the biggest name in fertility and a Labour peer to boot? If Lisa had popped up to Bangor I could have told her some of what I knew about about Lord Bob’s colleagues, including the sex with research assistants in the lab during working hours, the constant sexual harassment of other staff, the research fraud and the colluding with Dafydd and associated trafficking gangs…

Lord Bob was a Child In Time! A very brutal time too from what I remember Lord Bob…

Lisa Jardine was a Trustee of the V & A Museum for eight years and was for five years a member of the Council of the Royal Institution in London. She was Patron of the Archives and Records Association and the Orange Prize. For the academic year 2007–2008 Jardine was seconded to the Royal Society in London as Expert Adviser to its Collections. She was a Trustee of the Chelsea Physic Garden. In December 2011 Jardine was appointed a Director of the National Archives.

Jardine judged the Novel category of the 1996 Whitbread Book Awards, the 1999 Guardian First Book Award, the 2000 Orwell Prize and was Chair of Judges for the 1997 Orange Prize for Fiction and the 2002 Man Booker Prize.

Jardine served as Chairman of the governing body at Westminster City School for Boys (which her younger son attended) and was Chair of the Curriculum Committee on the governing body of St Marylebone Church of England School for Girls.

In 2012, Jardine was awarded the President’s Medal by the British Academy. She was elected an Honorary FRS in 2015. She served on the AHRC. In 2013–2014 Jardine served as President of the British Science Association, which in 2012 made her an Honorary Fellow.

I have been told by a well-wisher that it may well have been Lisa Jardine’s influence that resulted in so many of my A-rated research bids to the AHRC and British Academy being turned down at the final hurdle. It is now very difficult to get that funding but very experienced people in the field were expressing surprise nonetheless because they definitely thought that I should have bagged at least one of the ones that they read for me. The words ‘Tony Francis’ have been whispered in my ear. Tony Francis was still alive when I submitted those bids and he was very worried at the prospect of Brown and me one day publishing what he knew we intended to publish. As were a great many other people. Including Lord Bob.

In November 2011, Jardine was made an Honorary Bencher of the Honourable Society of Middle Temple. Lord Elwyn-Jones’s mate Sir Ronnie Waterhouse was a Bencher of Middle Temple and served as the Treasurer.

It really is very obvious isn’t it…

Jardine’s hagiographies constantly stress that she was an historian who excelled in science. Lisa Jardine never showed any sign of excelling in science, but she was an early modern historian who’s dad was a famous scientist who worked for the security services and concealed a barrel of crap in a previous generation, which is why Lisa picked up all those awards and appointments from the scientific and medical establishments. Jardine rattled on about her Aga on Radio 4’s ‘A Point of View’ programme, she was not a genius. And that Aga was probably in the middle of Hampstead while Lisa did her country peasant home baking bit.

A Point of View – I’ll have all the best jobs please, you all know who my dad was, not that I have ever traded on that…

Lisa died of cancer in 2015, aged 71. In the tributes which followed, she was remembered for “her deep empathy for outsiders of all kinds – rebels, misfits and migrants.”

Here’s Lisa, at the heart of the British establishment, closely linked with virtually every elite who assisted in concealing the Westminster Paedophile Ring and even with those who were mates with Dafydd himself, empathising with the rebels and misfits:

As well as working as a researcher on Lisa’s dad’s TV series, Lord Elwyn-Jones’s daughter Josephine married Francis Gladstone, a relative of the former PM William Gladstone.

William Gladstone was much loved and revered in north Wales, what with being a Liberal PM when north Wales was dominated politically and culturally by Liberal Noncoformists and on the Watkin Path going up Snowdon there is a huge carved rock which marks the place where Gladstone and a crowd sung Cymric hymns. Gladstone lived at Hawarden Castle in Flintshire. In 1895, at the age of 85, he gave £40,000 and much of his own library to establish what is now known as Gladstone’s Library – it was previously called St Deiniol’s Library – close to Hawarden Castle. Gladstone’s Library is a national memorial to Gladstone. It is lovely, it is a residential library with an emphasis on theology, but it is a favourite hang-out of the paedophiles’ friends (see previous posts). So much so that when I used to stay there I would inevitably encounter them. It might well have been a coincidence, I’d expect to see theologians there, but Dafydd’s colleague Dr Neil Davies, who was one of those responsible for illegally imprisoning me in Denbigh??? Just browsing away just when I was in there myself? Neil Davies doesn’t live anywhere near Hawarden and he isn’t a theologian but he knows an awful lot of people who are who have also been of great assistance to him and Dafydd…

Ronnie Waterhouse came from a well-known Liberal family in Flintshire and many members of Ronnie’s family were active in the Liberal Party, as was Ronnie himself when he was a young man. Ronnie’s dad Thomas Waterhouse was a very influential in the Liberal Party himself at the time of Gladstone and knew Gladstone personally.

See previous posts for information on Gladstone and the Waterhouse family.

Gladstone’s statue in Gladstone’s Library:

In 1840, Gladstone began to rescue and rehabilitate London prostitutes, walking the streets of London himself and encouraging the women he encountered to change their ways. Much to the criticism of his peers, he continued this practice decades later, even after he was elected PM. Dafydd had a similar explanation when questions were asked of some of his past-times. But then Dafydd told people that he was ‘carrying out a ward round’ when he was found in the women’s dorm at Denbigh in the small hours of the morning.

Yes, we Empowered Service Users did do a great deal of laughing at Dafydd and at those who repeated his ludicrous explanations every time that he was caught with his trousers down or indeed off, despite the huge danger that he presented.

Elwyn Jones’s other daughter is the fashion historian Lou Taylor, who is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Brighton.

Elwyn Jones’s son Dan Jones describes himself as an ‘artist’ and ‘rhyme collector’. Dan has been based in the East End since 1967. John Allen set up the Bryn Alyn Communityt in 1969 and within a short time, it was receiving scores of children from London boroughs, including those in the East End (see previous posts). In the 1970s and 80s, Dan lived at Brick Lane, just down the road from the flat in Bethnal Green where my mates lived and I briefly stayed in 1986, when sex offenders and other nasties came after us, just after I had left north Wales (see previous posts, including ‘The Turn Of The Screw’).

Dan Jones has ‘campaigned against racism and fought for social justice all of his life’. Dan was a social worker and visited schools in the East End at the same time as his father ignored what was happening to all those kids who ended up being abused and even dying at the hands of Dafydd’s gang. Dan has painted many murals of children on the walls of schools in the East End. Dan’s has also carried out ‘education work’ with Amnesty International. The Secretary-General of Amnesty, 1968-80, was Martin Ennals. See previous posts.

Martin’s brother Lord David Ennals colluded with Dafydd et al in Ennals’s capacity as a leading light in MIND and in his role as a Labour Minister in the Home Office, in the DHSS and then as Secretary of State for the DHSS, 1976-79, when Dafydd unlawfully arrested and imprisoned Mary Wynch… David Ennals was mates with Dafydd’s old mate from the Maudsley, Dr Jim Birley . See previous posts.

Dan featured on the Radio 4 children’s programme ‘Go 4 It’, taking children through a role play of what it was like to have to run in fear from your country. I know the feeling Dan!

Dan’s blog, Spitalfields Life, contains messages from people who knew Dan’s dad! One is an Angel who nursed Elwyn-Jones’s when Elwyn was a patient at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, 1987-1989. Elwyn Jones encouraged that Angel in their law studies and that Angel is now a Lecturer in Law (Medical & Human Rights). Another message is from someone who’s granddad knew Elwyn Jones and Polly Binder; their granddad used to be a chef at Gray’s Inn and that is how he knew Dan’s parents. Dafydd’s mate Sir William Mars-Jones was a senior member of Gray’s Inn…

Here’s Dan in front of one of his murals:

Elwyn Jones’s brother Idris (1900–1971), was captain of the Wales Rugby Union team in 1925 and was an industrial chemist who became Director General of Research Development for the National Coal Board.

The Welsh Rugby Union had many links to Dafydd’s gang which the gang used to their full potential, particularly in the form of the dreadful Tasker Watkins, ‘The Greatest Living Welshman’. Watkins had the most impressive Paedophile Gang Bingo card imaginable.

Sir Tasker Watkins VC GBE PC QC DL  (18 November 1918 – 9 September 2007) was a Lord Justice of Appeal, 1980-93 and Deputy Lord Chief Justice, 1988-93. Tasker was Leader of the Wales and Chester Circuit, 1970-71 and Presiding Judge of the Wales and Chester Circuit, 1975-80. He was Chairman of the Wales Mental Health Review Tribunal, 1960-71. Tasker was President of the Welsh National School of Medicine, 1987-98. He was President of the Welsh Rugby Union, 1993-2004.

In World War II, Sir Tasker was awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest British award for gallantry in the face of the enemy.

Tasker was appointed Deputy Lord Chief Justice by the Lord Chief Justice Geoffrey Lane. It was Geoffrey Lane who released Oliver Brooke, the Professor of Paediatrics at St George’s Hospital Medical School from prison early, after comparing Ollie’s vast stash of child porn to a collection of cigarette cards. Ollie was one of the key figures in the pan-European paedophile ring of which Dafydd’s gang were a part. See previous posts, including ‘Oliver!’.

Tasker was perceived as a Friend Of Wales particularly as a result of his Chairing the 1967 Public Inquiry into the Aberfan Disaster. Aberfan was blamed on the NCB and Lord Robens in particular was the fall guy, but the tip which fell on the school in 1966, killing 116 children and 28 adults, was known to be dangerous by local Councillors and politicians who had said nothing because the coal industry was about the only employer in the area and they feared the consequences if action was taken. Robens did a nice little deal with Wilson’s Gov’t which ensured that he remained in public life and was well-provided for after he took all the crap for Aberfan. See previous posts.

Lord Justice Desmond Ackner was another friend of Dafydd who was constructed as a Friend Of The Welsh People as a result of his role in Aberfan. Desmond Ackner was Counsel for the families of the victims at the Public Inquiry into Aberfan. Ackner condemned the ‘callous indifference, incompetence, ignorance and inertia’ in the National Coal Board. The people of Aberfan were well-impressed that an ‘English barrister’ wanted to help them and Ackner ‘remains a local hero’ in Aberfan, where a bench in the memorial garden bears a plaque in his memory.

Ronnie Waterhouse acted as junior Counsel at the Inquiry into Aberfan.

Not long after Ackner established his reputation as a Champ of the Oppressed due to his role at the Aberfan Inquiry, Ackner did a great job for those who were really close to his heart, Dafydd and the gang, when he acted as the Presiding Judge when Sir Kenneth Robinson and the Church of Scientology did battle in the libel courts after the Scientologists alleged that psychiatrists were experimenting on their patients, harming them and facilitating sex crimes against minors. Desmond Ackner denounced the Scientologists and dismissed their allegations as nonsense. The Church of Scientology’s allegations re psychiatry have never been taken seriously since. Yet Dafydd and his colleagues were doing exactly what the Scientologists stated that they were doing.

Sir Kenneth Robinson was Harold Wilson’s Health Secretary and President/Chair of MIND. Dafydd was a leading light in MIND when Robinson was Chair of MIND and when Robinson was Health Secretary. Furthermore Desmond Ackner knew about Dafydd’s gang and their crimes, as well as about Lord Louis Mountbatten, Sir Anthony Blunt, Kincora Boys’ Home and much else. The Scientologists don’t do themselves many favours, but their accusations re Dafydd et al had a substantial basis in fact. The trial was rigged and Ackner was appointed to preside over that trial to blow anyone who dared take on Dafydd et al out of the water. It worked, just look what happened in the years which followed that trial in the early 1970s. Ronnie Waterhouse was involved in the trial, he was Counsel for Geoffrey Johnson-Smith, a Tory MP who also maintained that the allegations that Dafydd et al were abusing kids and vulnerable people were libellous. Who was the senior Counsel acting for Robinson? One Elwyn Jones, having been recommended by Ronnie Waterhouse. The Scientologists were represented by a junior barrister, Ronald Schulman, who later ‘disappeared in mysterious circumstances’ and was subsequently smeared by Waterhouse and his mates. See post ‘The White Heat Of The Revolution’ for further details.

David Ennals was a leading light in MIND for many years during the 1970s and 80s.

See post ‘Include Me Out’ for further details of Desmond Ackner and his glorious career. Ackner died in 2006, so he was around to give Dafydd, MIND, Ronnie Waterhouse et al a helping hand well after Ronnie finished the the massive cover-up in 2000. Desmond Ackner was a member of Middle Temple, like Ronnie.

Elwyn Jones’s brother Idris was educated at what is now Aberystwyth University and then Gonville and Caius CollegeCambridge. After finishing his PhD at Cambridge, Idris worked for ICI at Billingham, where he was Group Manager in the Oil Division.  In 1933 he returned to Wales as Research Manager for Powell Duffryn Ltd. In 1946 Idris was appointed Director General of Research Development for the NCB. During summer 1955 he went to the USSR as a member of the NCB‘s specialised delegation. Idris visited the three biggest Russian coalfields, in Siberia, near Moscow, and the Donbas.

Idris Jones was Vice-President of University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, 1963-71. While at college Idris was captain of the rugby team at Aberystwyth and a member of Cambridge University Rugby XV. He played flanker for London-Welsh and Llanelli Rugby Clubs and also for the Barbarians. He played for Wales against EnglandFranceIreland and Scotland and was captain on one occasion. Idris was a prominent active member of Welsh societies in London.

Idris Jones died in 1971, a Bachelor who had not been blessed with children.

While the Lord Elwyn-Jones’s, the Lord Cledwyns and the Sir William Mars-Jones’s were busy in London helping Dafydd out, rather more obscure people in Bangor University unknown to anyone outside of their academic fields reaped the rewards of a gang of murdering paedophiles. Professor Fergus Lowe was the person who excelled in this regard obviously, but a few not-very-bright people did very nicely out of it as well.
One such person was, as he was known when we were undergrads, ‘the bad tempered bastard John Farrar’. John Farrar was a rather uninspiring and deeply unpleasant plant physiologist. He wasn’t too bright but was the most frightful bully – and according to someone who had shared a bench with him at Oxford when they were undergrads, Farrar was obnoxious back then as well – and most students just avoided interaction with him because the most innocent question would be met with a bout of swearing and shouting in response. He was reputed to swear and shout at the undergrad whom he was shagging as well, Stel. There was a major diplomatic incident when Stel graduated and bagged a job as Farrar’s research assistant ‘because it just looks so bad’, as a member of staff observed.
Looked bad?? No wonder Farrar ignored all of their protests, one of his colleagues, John Wilson, was having sex with school girls in Bangor; another colleague, Ralph Oxley, was married to Isobel Hargreaves, a Gwynedd social worker who was a member of Dafydd’s gang; another of Farrar’s colleagues in the Plant Biology Dept was Chris Wood, a marine botanist who was married to the corrupt GP Dr D.G.E. Wood, who was one of the key facilitators of Dafydd’s gang. One of the Profs in Plant Biology was Prof Greig-Smith, who was a colleague of the Cambridge botanist Prof Edred Henry Corner, Douglas Hurd’s uncle. Douglas Hurd was Home Secretary, 1985-89, during which time he concealed the serious criminality in north Wales. One of the mature students in Plant Biology at the time was Gaye Kennaway, who was married to Ian Kennaway, who held a very senior role in the National Trust in Wales. See post ‘Additional Security Measures’.
The National Trust in north Wales had numerous links with Dafydd’s gang (see previous posts), in particular by running a work scheme for ‘disadvantaged people’ at Penrhyn Castle, which was staffed entirely by victims of Dafydd’s gang under the supervision of Wing Commander I.H. Panton, who knew exactly what had happened to them at the hands of Dafydd and kept them hidden away in the gardens at Penrhyn Castle (see posts ‘That’s Entertainment’ and ‘Today We Have Naming Of Parts’).
One of the Profs in Plant Biology was Geoff Sagar, who was also one of the senior managers at UCNW, so he’ll have been on excellent terms with Dafydd and the gang who were running the whole institution anyway.
These were just the main links between Plant Biology and Dafydd’s gang; there were of course many, many more, because the staff were married/related to and socialised with other members of the gang and the gang’s relatives/friends. Not that everything always ran smoothly, in true paedophiles’ friends’ style, many of them spent much of their time at each other’s throats.
John Farrar hated everyone and everyone hated him. I was in a lab one day when I heard the most dreadful commotion in the lab next door. It was Farrar having a row with John Wilson. Farrar was demanding the use of yet another lab solely for himself – although like John Wilson Farrar was only a junior lecturer – and was effectively intimidating John Wilson out of his lab. Farrar was shouting and yelling and banging his fist on the bench and in the end John Wilson ran out of the door. I reported back to my mates and they said ‘oh we’ve heard that Farrar does things like that’.
When I returned years later to Bangor as a PhD student and then a post doc, the Bad Tempered Bastard was PVC for Research and what a lot of trouble he caused. The Bad Tempered Bastard treated everyone else, even senior staff, appallingly and then the Bad Tempered Bastard told senior academics in other disciplines which of their publications to enter for the RAE. Because the Bad Tempered Bastard wouldn’t listen to anyone and knew nothing about anything but plant physiology, he entered some academics’ work into the wrong categories, such as that of the sociologists. YOU THICK TOSSER FARRAR, YOU ENTERED US FOR SOCIAL POLICY, WHICH IS A DIFFERENT DISCIPLINE. Duh!!!
I watched the unfolding disaster, as did the senior sociologists but no, Farrar was not going to listen. Brown said ‘oh don’t worry, there’s a row after every RAE in most universities and whoever leads it usually leaves their job, Farrar will be gone’. How right Brown was. The RAE results were embarrassing and the knives went out for Farrar. Poor old Farrar tried to cling on but then Fungus turned on him, had the most blazing row and Farrar keeled over with a heart attack. It could not have happened to a nicer person. One of Farrar’s punch bags observed that ‘the most hated man in the University has now nearly killed the second most hated man in the University’. Farrar then announced his ‘retirement’ and an e mail was circulated from the organs of Gov’t at Bangor explaining that there wasn’t going to be a party because ‘John doesn’t want a fuss’, after which one of my mates observed ‘which is just as well because he’s not going to get one’. The e mail explained that anyone wishing to contribute to a Gift For John could leave a donation. Another punch bag who owned a small-holding where he kept sheep commented that he had a bag of shit that Farrar could have.
Thus Bangor University waved a fond farewell to Farrar.
It was deeply ironic that while doing all this, Fungus and Farrar, in collaboration with other paedophiles’ friends, were planning to shaft the VC, who must have been in despair over the idiocies of that lot. Presumably the man who was then VC is still alive and kicking and isn’t dead like Fungus or wrecked like Farrar.
Let me explain Farrar you thick idiot. The problem was me. Fungus knew that I had the dirt on Dafydd and the gang going back decades, he knew that Miranda, Gordon Brown and Lord Snooty the Third were all involved in previous cover-ups and he knew that Brown and I intended to publish. Fungus also knew that I hated the lot of them and he knew that I knew about the plans on the part of multiple people to Get The VC, who was not Of The Paedophiles’ Friends. That is why, when I was approached by a TV journo with regard to making a documentary about the mental health services in north Wales, the day before filming I was told that the programme would only go ahead if I dropped the VC in it on TV. I refused and they told me that I didn’t need to be scared of him. I replied that I wasn’t scared of him, he was one of the few people who had never threatened me, tried to extract info from me or tried to influence my plans re the battle with the paedophiles’ friends in any way and I was not going to smear one of the few sane people who had behaved properly.
Here are some of the people who were desperately hoping that I would be led into an obvious trap by the ‘investigative journalist’ who Wanted To Expose The Truth:

Before Fungus nearly killed Farrar, a VIP paid a visit to Bangor University to open the new Ecocentre (I’ve forgotten its official name) aka the Good Ship Farrar. It was Gordon, during his brief period of being PM! There were some structural problems with the building, but no-one told Gordon that. Instead Farrar was touted as a Sensitive Green who Cared about matters Climate and the Environment, rather than a shitbag who had climbed to the top of the University by bullying weak stupid people who were colluding with a murdering trafficking gang.
The building of Farrar’s empire at Bangor involved the usual strategy ie. the touting as geniuses of a few of those who had shamelessly toadied to this vile git when they were his PhD students, instead of running away as fast as they could which happened quite often in the case of students doing PhDs with Farrar. A number of good botanists gave up on plant biology after having had the John Farrar Experience.
One of the Geniuses from the Farrar Stable is Professor Julie Scholes. Julie Scholes was a PhD student when I was an undergrad and Julie knew about many of the sordid activities on the part of Farrar and his colleagues that I have discussed on this blog. Julie is now a Professor in the Dept of Animal and Plant Sciences at Sheffield University. Julie is one of the partners in Sheffield University’s Leverhulme Centre for Climate Change and Migration.
The Leverhulme Trust grant-making foundation which was established under the will of the 1st Viscount Leverhulme (1851–1925), with the instruction that its resources should be used to support “scholarships for the purposes of research and education.” The Leverhulme estate is located in Cheshire/Merseyside and Philip Lever aka Lord Leverhulme, the 3rd Viscount was foolish enough to get himself linked with Dafydd and the gang, partly by Philip Lever’s position as Chancellor of Liverpool University, 1980-93. Fungus used this very effectively in terms of liberating funding from the Leverhulme Trust and no doubt in other ways a well. Before Fungus decided that Farrar was better off dead, Fungus and Farrar were partners in crime. Philip Lever’s lifelong passion was horse racing. He owned race horses and served as Chairman of Chester Racecourse and as a senior steward of the Jockey Club. Ronnie Waterhouse’s father-in-law bred racehorses and Ronnie made it his business to get to know everyone who was anyone in racing and the Jockey Club. See previous posts.
Philip Lever served as Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, 1949-90, making him the longest serving Lord Lieutenant in the country. He was Lilibet’s representative throughout those long and happy years that Dafydd’s gang operated in Cheshire and Lever’s term of office spanned most of Sir Peter Morrison’s time as the Tory MP for Chester, when Morrison was molesting children in care in north Wales and elsewhere. Philip Lever died in July 2000. He obviously felt that his job on earth was done once Ronnie Waterhouse’s report had been published in Feb 2000.
I invite readers to take a look at the dates of the highlights of Julie Schofield’s career and think back to what was happening re Dafydd’s gang at the time:
BSc (1982) PhD (1986) University of Wales

Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 Research Fellow, University of Sheffield (1986-1987)
Royal Society University Research Fellow, University of Sheffield (1987-1995)
Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader, University of Sheffield (1995-2003)
Professor of Plant and Microbial Sciences (2003 – present).

One can go a long way by keeping one’s trap shut if one’s PhD supervisor is an absolute pig…

Another Outstanding Biologist who learned at the knee of a man who’s colleagues were running a paedophile ring is Professor Julian Hibberd of the
Department of Plant Sciences, Cambridge University….
What became of Stel, the undergrad whom Farrar was shagging? Well she ended up marrying Farrar when she finished her PhD and went on to have a big family. She and Farrar had a very acrimonious divorce when the children were quite young and Stel spent years working as a Welsh for adults tutor at Bangor University, in the School of Lifelong Learning of which the Head was Meri Huws, the former Gwynedd social worker at the time of Great Paedophilia in the 1980s. Stel and Farrar’s son Robin has for some years held various offices in Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg, the Welsh Language Society. Meri Huws Chaired Cymdeithas back in the 1980s…
When i was doing my PhD, I shared an open plan office with a number of others, including a Dr Christine Smart. Christine was married to a Prof in Biological Sciences at Bangor University, Davey Jones. Christine used to tell people that she knew that everyone hated Farrar, but Davey would always be grateful to him because Farrar got him his Chair. The reason why Christine’s loyalties were being stretched was that the Dept was being shut down because Fungus had forced our boss, my PhD supervisor, out of his job and everyone was being made redundant. Christine probably knew that this was a punishment beating for my PhD supervisor after I got my PhD, so I do hope that she and Davey screwed as much as they possibly could out of Fungus and Farrar. Especially as I’ve now exposed the whole rotten structure. Christine knew how bad the Top Doctors of Bangor were, because she had a very bad experience during the birth of one of her children. It should have been enough to have got one of the bastards sacked, but no, there won’t have been a complaint made because no-one can afford to upset the Top Docs and the associated paedophile gang. So other women will have been put at risk by him as well now…

Wales has got talent? Well it’s certainly got a great many people feeding off Dafydd.

Because there was so little employment in the Bangor area in the 1980s, of the Bangor graduates who stayed in the area, many set up their own small, often slightly alternative, businesses. One of the plant biologists who graduated a few years before me, Pete Winstanley, established an organic veg shop in Bangor, years before eating organic veg was a mass activity. Pete was always very friendly and the shop had a huge choice of veg but it was so cold in Pete’s shop in the winter that he’d have a gas fire on full blast and would still be serving the customers while wearing a scarf, hat and woollen gloves. Pete’s veg shop disappeared from Bangor years ago and I thought that he’d left north Wales. So imagine my surprise one day while, when researching Dafydd, I discovered that Dafydd had commissioned an oil painting of himself – paid for by Dafydd’s charidee CAIS I understand – painted by Anglesey artist Pete Winstanley. Yes, it was the botanist Pete who used to own the veg shop…
Pete’s veg shop was in Upper Bangor, opposite the left-wing book shop and just down the road from the C & A Hospital, with the Angels’ homes opposite. The C & A Hospital which was facilitating the trafficking ring and the Angels’ homes in the buildings which were in a nearly uninhabitable condition, housing Angels who were also involved in the trafficking ring.
In the early 1980s, students at UCNW were all exposed to the story of ‘Do you know that there is a prostitute in Bangor? She’s in the Railway Hotel.’ I never went in the Railway Hotel so I have no idea of whether there was a prostitute in there or not, but there were a a number of prostitutes who lived in the Angels’ homes and even more prostitutes in the Ty Newydd and Ty’r Felin children’s homes in Bangor.
‘We didn’t know.’

The Wretched Of The Earth

When the Forces Of Oppression at Bangor University – in the form of Professor Fergus Lowe, Lyn Meadows and Stephanie Marriott  (see previous posts) – became particularly intolerable, one of my colleagues symbolically borrowed a copy of Frantz Fanon’s volume ‘The Wretched Of The Earth’ from the University library. This man’s life was indeed being made wretched by the aforementioned oppressors, but like me, he was on good terms with a few Empowered Service Users and knew that their lives were even more wretched.

There are a few ends that need to be tied up following recent posts re details of the lives of the wretched and the names of those who made their lives so wretched, so in this post I’ll cover a few such matters and people.

Previous posts eg. ‘Professor Prestigious And His Associates’ discussed how in the 1980s, Thatch was only ever persuaded to allow the public health campaign re HIV/AIDS when one of Dafydd’s umbrellas, the then Chief Medical Officer Sir Donald Acheson, explained very clearly to Thatch and her Ministers that AIDS was incurable, affected gay men in particular and that some of her Ministers and associates who were having promiscuous gay sex (eg. Peter Morrison) were going to die from this along with the rent boys if they did not change their behaviour. It was then that dear old Norman Fowler, the Secretary of State for the DHSS, 1981-87, who was also concealing the activities of Dafydd and the gang, got on board with the ‘Don’t Die Of Ignorance’ campaign and agreed to one of those leaflets being shoved through the letterbox of every household in the Britain.

  • AIDS DON`T DIE OF IGNORANCE LEAFLET | aids leaflet - 1987 ...

Previous posts eg. ‘Apocalypse Now’ and ‘The Bodies Under Canary Wharf’ explained that the political class knew that many of the young men who died from AIDS in the 1980s and 90s were rent boys who had been forced into sex work as kids in care, often while in children’s homes in north Wales. That is why there was so much attention paid to ‘confidentiality’ and not identifying those patients when Princess Di went to visit them; those young men were witnesses to a huge scandal and them effectively dying in conditions of secrecy was just another part of the cover-up. Top Docs knew the score, as did all the Angels, counsellors and other people who worked with AIDS patients, including Top Docs Professor Michael Adler and Tony Pinching, as well as Adler’s wife Baroness Margaret Jay, who was the daughter of Jim Callaghan and was appointed as a Health Minister by Miranda in May 1997 (see post ‘Holding The Country To Ransom – Part I’).

The first NHS wards for the treatment of AIDS patients were at the Middlesex Hospital; it was to those wards that Di made her much publicised visit in 1987 to Fight The Stigma. It did not escape my notice that Gwynne the lobotomist trained at the Middlesex and enjoyed lifelong protection from the alumni network of that institution. However, I missed something obvious that, as ever, suggested that the conspiracy and mutual back-scratching may have been worse than I thought.

The Middlesex was shut down in 2005 and was subsequently demolished, but it was located just down the road from Soho. The district served by the Middlesex was Bloomsbury. It was Sir Clough Williams-Ellis’s friends from the Bloomsbury Set who were the visiting bohemians to Croesor in north Wales in the summers throughout the middle years of the 20th century who hung out with Bertrand Russell et al, some of whom made use of Gwynne and later on Dafydd to deal with awkward customers (see previous posts). Clough married Amabel Strachey, the daughter of John St Loe Strachey, the Editor of ‘The Spectator’, for which Amabel wrote (see previous posts). Amabel’s brother John – Evelyn John St Loe Strachey – was a Labour politician, serving as Minister for Food and then Secretary of State for War under Clement Attlee (see previous posts). At Oxford, John Strachey was friends with Lord Bob Boothby, who later became known for being a bisexual Tory who used rent boys and was mates with some unsavoury people, including the Krays (see previous posts). The Stracheys’ extended network spanned a whole spectrum of influential people; fascists, communists, pacifists, members of the Tory, Labour and Liberal Parties, psychoanalysts, Top Doctors, writers, artists, radicals, suffragettes etc. People tangled with them at their peril and many of the extended network spent time in the Croesor area. They weren’t at the mercy of Gwynne and Dafydd, but the people who pissed them off were, as of course were local people.

In 1987 ‘AIDS Britain 1987’ a film about the various Gov’t funded programmes which were being set up in the UK to combat the spread of HIV and AIDS was made; this film is now part of the London Screen Archives collection. The initiatives featured in the film included counselling, specialist hospital wards, a public education strategy, charity work and a clean needle programme for drug users. Experts in each field were interviewed about their work. The Middlesex Hospital featured, as did Professor Michael Adler, who explained how HIV is contracted and passed on, as well as how it cannot be passed on. Adler stated that a national strategy was needed and that the NHS and social services need to be aware of what was required of them. Tony Newton, Minister of State for Heath, 1986-88, explained what the Gov’t was doing in terms of public education. Alison Taylor wrote to Tony Newton in Feb 1988, describing a brutal assault that she had witnessed. Thatch then appointed Newton as Secretary of State for Social Security in 1989 and he remained in the post until 1992. Tony Newton was Lord President of the Council, 1992-97. One of the roles of Lord President of the Council is to serve as the visitor for UCNW (Bangor University). So Newton was in that post during the frantic years when the demands for a Public Inquiry into the abuse of children in north Wales became louder and louder, when the Jillings Investigation took place and when the cover-up which was the Waterhouse Inquiry was planned and launched. Throughout these years, former kids in care and psych patients were found dead constantly and five witnesses to the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal were killed by a firebomb (see post ‘The Silence Of The Welsh Lambs’). Newton could be relied upon to keep quiet and not investigate any of it, that had been demonstrated after Alison wrote to him.

Someone else starring in ‘AIDS Britain 1987’ was Professor Robin Weiss, who was interviewed about how research into HIV and AIDS was progressing and in what directions it needed to progress.

Robert Anthony “Robin” Weiss was Professor of Viral Oncology at UCL and a member of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics. His research has focused on retroviruses, initially as a means of understanding T-cell leukaemia and other cancers. His breakthrough discovery was in 1971 and involved demonstrating that the retroviral genome in chickens follows the rules of Mendelian inheritance. Because HIV/AIDS only came to prominence in the west in the 1980s, Weiss, like all the other researchers who became well-known for their work on HIV, didn’t have previous experience of HIV per se, although HIV is a retrovirus.

So what was Robin Weiss doing before his work on HIV? He was the Director of the Institute of Cancer Research at the Royal Marsden Hospital no less, 1980-98. So Weiss was at the Institute of Cancer Research/Royal Marsden at the time of the research fraud perpetrated by the Institute of Cancer Research/Royal Marsden that was exposed in 1990, involving Dr Tony Francis’s former colleague Peter Macguire and which resulted in the death – presumed to be suicide – of Professor Tim McElwain (see posts ‘Reports Of Death Were Greatly Exaggerated’ and ‘Apocalypse Now’). When Peter Macguire, a psychiatrist from Manchester, suddenly decided to become a cancer researcher and obtained funding from the Cancer Research Campaign to do this, I was working for the Cancer Research Campaign at the University of Surrey in a team led by Professor Vincent Marks, brother of the President of the BMA Dr John Marks. See previous posts.

John Marks was in an all-out war with Ken Clarke at the time, they really loathed each other, but the priority was to keep a lid on Dafydd et al. Not only were the BMA providing Tony Francis and the other self-styled ‘BMA psychiatrists’ in north Wales with free advice in terms of how to have me framed and banged up without trial in a secure unit (see eg. posts ‘Gwlad y Menig Gwynion’ and ‘Criminals Are Getting Away With It’) but I was told by Vincent Marks et al in Surrey after a year that there was no more funding for my post to continue. It was only a few months ago that I discovered that while I was still working at Surrey, my data was given to Nicola Curtin at Newcastle-upon-Tyne University, who published it under her name without my knowledge (see previous posts). Curtin’s funding did continue – partly as a result of my work – and Curtin is now Professor Nicola Curtin. Curtin was not part of our team at Surrey nor one of our research partners and I had never heard of her until I found that paper with my name on it along with hers, some months ago.

In the 1970s, Robin Weiss worked for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. The ICRF were also involved with the research fraud starring Peter Macguire which ended in the death of Tim McElwain.

Readers might also remember that other laughable bit of cancer research conducted by Dafydd’s mates at Ysbyty Gwynedd and UCNW and published in the ‘British Journal of Cancer’ in Dec 1990, which was hailed as a scientific first in the world’s media but had to be quietly forgotten about days later, when it was pointed out that the research was flawed (see post ‘They Think It’s All Over – It Is Now’). Deeply flawed – it was based on a control sample of three and one of the controls did not have the illness under investigation. It is worth noting here that the published paper stated that it had originally been submitted to the journal in 1988 but was returned for redrafting. As I explained in previous posts, Dafydd’s gang were in desperate need of good PR in 1987-88, so it is quite possible that they did decide to construct themselves as World Leading Cancer Researchers at that time. However, Dec 1990 was a very busy month for Dafydd and the gang. I had just about been forced out of my job at St George’s Hospital Medical School – I now know as a result of me refusing to keep quiet about Dafydd et al – and in Dec 1990 Drs Tony and Sadie Francis tried to have me imprisoned on the basis of their perjury.

That article in the ‘British Journal of Cancer’ appeared at a very convenient time for Dafydd and the paedophile gang. Everyone involved was so dishonest that it wouldn’t be beyond probability if that paper had not been drafted in 1988 at all, but had been a quick effort timed to appear when I was marched off to the slammer and if I protested it would then have been my word against the word of World Leading Cancer Researchers. That would certainly explain why such a shoddy effort at fabricating research appeared to have escaped the attention of the peer reviewers who ‘advised on the redrafting’.

It was around 1990 that fireworks began to go off in the School of Social Sciences as well, which resulted in a hate campaign against a senior sociologist and an article in ‘The Guardian’ falsely accusing him of discriminating against Welsh people when making appointing staff (see previous posts eg. ‘Badlands’). The whole thing was cooked up by Dafydd’s gang as a distraction in the wake of the North Wales Police beginning their investigation into the possibility of a VIP paedophile ring in north Wales/Cheshire.

Who was Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Cancer until 2005? Robin Weiss. His successor, A. L. Harris, stated that Weiss showed “clear vision in developing the British Journal of Cancer into [a] multidisciplinary journal with a focus on research that aims to deliver benefits to cancer patients.” Presumably by publishing crap written by the colleagues of a gang of traffickers. Who is A.L. Harris? None other than Professor Adrian Harris of Oxford University, who was mates with Vincent Marks et al at Surrey and unlike Nicola Curtin, was one of the partners on the project that I was working on (see previous posts).

The ‘British Journal of Cancer’ might well have a vested interest in publishing crap written by people who have been involved in research frauds funded by the Cancer Research Campaign; the journal was owned by the CRC (now known as CR UK).

For details of more fraudulent research conducted by people funded by/associated with the CRC and CR UK, see previous posts eg. ‘Oh Lordy, It’s CR UK’.

San and Tray and Professor Robin Weiss:

A few Interesting Facts:

My immediate boss at Surrey, Dr Wynne Aherne, came from the Carmarthen area and in 1988 still had friends and family there. One of my colleagues at Surrey, Wynne’s friend, was Anthea Hardcastle, who was originally Anthea Jones and came from Cricieth. Anthea also had friends and family still in north Wales and two of her closest friends was at that time was the Principal Biochemist at Ysbyty Gwynedd and his wife

Tony Francis knew the Windbag, who in 1988 still had delusions that he was going to be the next PM, despite this scene in June 1987:

  • Former British PM Margaret Thatcher dies at 87 | Globalnews.ca
  • File:UK General Election, 1987.svg - Wikipedia

Although traditionally there were plenty of Tory Top Doctors, by 1988 the Top Docs generally and of course the BMA in particular had fallen out with the Tories big time (Ken Clarke believed that John Marks was ‘very left wing’), as a result of Thatcher’s contempt and hostility towards the professions and even more saliently because of the new management structure which Thatch was imposing on the NHS. In the late 1980s, Top Doctors were gravitating towards the SDP – Dr Death, who personally knew some of the facilitators of the trafficking ring in north Wales, was the big pulling factor – or, particularly in Wales, the Labour Party. I never saw much evidence of any great commitment to socialism on the part of the majority of Top Doctors, but they did know that the Windbag would do whatever they told him, in the way that the BMA love Mark Drakeford because he takes orders from Top Doctors and gives them money when they ask for it. A case of a well-heeled Oliver (Brooke) who wants some more. The Labour Party has always enjoyed support from the Socialist Health Association and the Top Doctors who have doubled up as Labour MPs are usually members of this organisation.

Could the Windbag let us know if he has any info about this mass outbreak of research fraud in the late 1980s/1990 on the part of associates of Dafydd and the gang who also had links with people who worked with me?

Robin Weiss is now described as a molecular biologist, but his first degree was in Zoology from UCL in 1961 and then he was awarded his PhD in 1969. So Weiss could well have known some of the Zoologists at, or associated with, UCNW during the years that Dafydd’s gang ran UCNW.

In the 1970s, Weiss spent some time working with Peter K Vogt in the USA. Vogt discovered oncogenes that play important roles in human cancers and has has received numerous awards, including the Bristol-Myers Squibb Award (1989), the Charles S. Mott Prize (1991), the Szent-Gyorgyi Prize for Progress in Cancer Research (2010), the Pezcoller Foundation-AACR International Award for Cancer Research (2013), the IHV Lifetime Achievement Award for Scientific Contributions (2016) and the AICF Prize for Scientific Excellence in Medicine (2017). Vogt has been elected to several academies, including the National Academy of Sciences USA, the American Philosophical Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the German National Academy of Arts and Sciences Leopoldina and the American Academy of Microbiology. Vogt has served on several scientific advisory and editorial boards, e.g., the National Foundation for Cancer Research and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, USA (since 2000).

In 1977, Robin Weiss was elected a member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation. In 1997, the year that the Waterhouse Inquiry began, Weiss became a Fellow of the Royal Society. Robin Weiss returned to work at UCL in 1999 and in the same year became an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. In November 2001, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences awarded Weiss the M. W. Beijerinck Prize for Virology, noting especially his work on retroviruses. In the same year, Weiss delivered the Leeuwenhoek lecture. Weiss was elected to the American Philosophical Society in 2018.

Professor Weiss has pioneered aspects of our understanding of HIV and AIDS, particularly on the identification of CD4 as the HIV receptor and on the analysis of neutralizing antibodies. He has also conducted research on AIDS-associated malignancies and on pig viruses in relation to xenotransplantation. He has been President of the British Association for Cancer Research and he is currently President of the Society for General Microbiology.

In 2007 Professor Weiss was awarded the prestigious Ernst Chain Award by Imperial College, in recognition of his pioneering work on HIV/AIDS. Robin Weiss is currently leading a $25 million international research consortium, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in HIV vaccine discovery.

An interview with Robin Weiss which shed further light on his greatness can be found on the i-Sense EPSRC IRC Early-Warning Sensing Systems for Infectious Disease website. i-Sense started in October 2013 as a five-year, £11 million Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration (IRC), funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). i-Sense describes its objective as ‘to build a new generation of digital sensing systems to identify and prevent outbreaks of infectious disease and antimicrobial resistance, much earlier than ever before. Early detection and accurate diagnosis is key to helping patients gain faster access to care and protecting populations from disease. Our mission strongly aligns to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Challenge Research Fund. We work in partnership with end users in low and middle-income countries, to build innovative digital technologies that meet their needs.’

The i-Sense website states that:

‘Professor Robin Weiss is a leading researcher whose discoveries transformed our understanding of HIV during its early years in the 1980s. This work paved the way for changes in HIV testing and treatment that saved lives. Robin has been a key collaborator and mentor of i-sense researchers working on the development of HIV diagnostics. During this interview, Robin shares with us his remarkable career spanning 50 years; working on various retroviruses before applying his vast knowledge to HIV, and how his research is now being applied across several pathogenic infectious diseases like Ebola. Robin reminds us how far we’ve come, but also the obstacles we still face, in reaching the ultimate goal of eradicating HIV and AIDS.’

According to Robin: ‘I have spent almost all of my research career working with retroviruses, particularly HIV. For the first 18 years, I was working with retroviruses that cause cancer in chickens, and then in 1980, the first human retrovirus was discovered by Robert Gallo in the US, which causes a form of leukaemia. It was then that I switched to human retroviruses and a few years later HIV was discovered.

At the time of the HIV discovery, I was Director of the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) and we were one of the few labs in the UK with genuine expertise in retroviruses. We dived right in, were able to obtain the virus in 1984, and found we could grow it to high titre. With Richard Tedder, clinical virologist at UCL, we developed the first really good diagnostic test. This test detected antibodies produced by the body in reaction to the virus. It was based on a radio-immunoassay and was converted into the then novel ELISA method. The test went into blood donor screening in 1985, across most countries in the British Commonwealth.

Radioimmunoassay was the specialism of the team led by Vincent Marks at the University of Surrey. Wynne Aherne in particular developed radio-immunoassays for many purposes; my job at Surrey was developing a radioimmunoassay. I don’t know Robin Weiss, but I do remember a woman who worked in Vincent Marks’s team in 1988 who was working on HIV. Because Thatcher’s Gov’t – and the Top Docs – were in such a panic over HIV/AIDS and it was known that it was going to devastate some African nations, Thatch’s Gov’t had ordered everyone working on HIV to co-ordinate and work WITH each other, not AGAINST each other, which is what so often happens in science. The woman at Surrey used to rave about how great it was that funding was secure and that people therefore shared their results with each other and that collaboration was the order of the day. The only dissenter was an Australian scientists who pissed everyone off by claiming that HIV did not cause AIDS and he offered to inject himself with HIV to demonstrate this.

Robin Weiss will have known that researcher at Surrey and although collaboration was allegedly the order of the day, because Weiss was the senior researcher, he will have been credited with being the Man Who Discovered Things. So Weiss knew Vincent Marks et al who, at least by 1988, were concealing the crimes of Dafydd et al in north Wales…

The i-Sense interview with Weiss continues:

also in 1985 – You made an even bigger scientific discovery that same year, one that many feel is one of the most significant breakthroughs in our understanding of HIV. Can you tell us a little more about it?

Yes, we identified the cell surface receptor that HIV uses to dock onto human cells, known as CD4. I think that’s what I’m best known for. In 1986, we published a paper reporting that while the CD4 antigen is a component of the HIV receptor, it was not sufficient by itself for the virus to enter cells; it needed an extra unknown factor. It took another 10 years before the second factor was identified as a chemokine co-receptor was discovered by Ed Berger at NIH. With hindsight, our predictions were quite smart!’

In 1986, I was still a postgrad at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School/Hammersmith Hospital; Dafydd et al were busy sticking the knife into me via their contacts there, but I didn’t realise that at the time. I did however find out about a great deal of wrongdoing and questionable research (see posts eg. ‘A Cause Close To Our Hearts’ and ‘I Don’t Believe It!’). So whatever Weiss published in 1986 won’t have been anything to do with me being a witness to Dafydd et al’s crimes. But Weiss didn’t actually set the world on fire in 1986; Weiss claims to have PREDICTED something that somebody else discovered 10 years later; then claims the credit for being Mystic Meg. Weiss and the bodies for which he was working and which funded him had in the meantime been exposed as frauds and liars. A member of the team had even committed suicide – at least that’s what his death had been attributed to – as a result of the disgrace. Can we believe anything that was said by Weiss et al, especially predictions of discoveries made by other people ten years later? It’s not as if anyone was going to contradict Weiss over these claims; he was riding high by then, had a Chair at UCL and Waterhouse was on the horizon, no-one was going to rock that boat, no matter how pissed off with him they might have been. Up in north Wales, Dafydd, Tony Francis et al were in the final stages of yet another more plan to fit me up and lock me up.

A pioneering breakthrough and very ahead of its time! How was it you came to discover this?

Our retrovirus lab collaborated with a very good immunology lab at UCL led by Peter Beverley and he had all the monoclonal antibodies known in 1984 to T-cell surface antigens that we needed. We screened all 160 of them all blind and picked out 14 that blocked HIV infection.  When we deciphered the code each of those 14 was an anti-CD4 antibody –  a clear-cut result!

What was it like in the early days of HIV research?

It was exciting and a little bit frightening! We didn’t know how to handle this virus in the lab. Every six weeks we would screen everyone in the lab with our provisional diagnostic test as we didn’t want to become infected or give it to our partners; it was always a nervous day when the results came out. We couldn’t send it off or receive results anonymously – there were only five of us and we were the only ones with the test.’

I remember it well. No-one knew anything about HIV, everyone was equally in the dark and many researchers refused to work with the virus such was the anxiety. So Weiss and his four colleagues were the only ones who knew what was going on in their lab…

‘Yet scientifically it was exciting. The CD4 discovery came quickly, the following year we published on neutralising antibodies (ones that block infection) and proved that although people living with HIV showed high levels of antibodies, they only have very low levels of protective antibodies, which was very different to other human retroviruses we knew about. This still remains a major challenge in vaccine development.

There was also a lot of fear and we had a role in trying to inform behavioural understanding. As some of the only spokespeople in the UK for HIV, we received a lot of queries.’

Told you so. Robin Weiss was the word of God. There was no-one to question him or his results.

‘My most recent work before my lab closed a few years ago was applying all the work I had learned about HIV envelopes to other viruses: Rabies, SARS, H5N1 influenza, and two of my former postdocs have done this with Ebola. It is useful for high throughput and because the pseudotypes themselves do not require high containment.’

Weiss could churn them out…

‘This might be quite difficult to pin down, but what for you has been your greatest accomplishment?

For me, my biggest discovery was actually one I made when I was still a PhD student at UCL, when I was able to deduce that some retroviruses are inherited in as viral genomes integrated into host chromosomal DNA. Now we know that ~8% of the human genome derives from ‘fossil’ retroviruses. I was the first to see this and it was my first ever virus paper published in 1967, so last year we celebrated 50 years since this discovery! Working together with a chicken geneticist, Jim Payne, we later proved through crosses between two breeds of chicken that the endogenous retroviruses are inherited as individual Mendelian loci.’

So for some reason Weiss is not credited with earth-shattering breakthroughs with HIV.

Robin Weiss’s family show the same pattern of inheritance as Colin Blakemore offspring in that Weiss’s children have inherited the gene for being Famous Scientists as well.

‘For example, during the Ebola epidemic my daughter, who is an epidemiologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, went to Sierra Leone where people were doing contact tracing with bits of paper to try and track who was likely to develop the virus. She went there and converted this process to mobile phones’.

That will be the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine who offered me a place to do an MSc in Medical Microbiology which was suddenly, inexplicably and unlawfully withdrawn after Dr D.G.E. Wood found out about the offer. Wood had contacts at the LSHTM. See previous posts. It was the withdrawal of the place at the LSHTM that was the reason why I did the MSc at Hammersmith instead. The traffickers of north Wales didn’t know that I had that place, so they couldn’t throw a spanner in the works until they found out that I was actually on the course. So while I was on the course, Dafydd had me unlawfully arrested and imprisoned.

Robin Weiss is a devoted dad and granddad:

‘Without a doubt, my most rewarding role has been acting as a mentor to young scientists. I am very proud of my scientific children and grandchildren, so to speak. To see young scientists come up and do well is a great feeling.’

Particularly when they’re members of your own family Robin!

Robin continues:

‘I was Director of the Institute of Cancer Research in London, with 600+ employees for 10 years. I think I did a pretty good job, so that is also satisfying.’

600+ employees. Involved in research fraud. Their careers all continued in spite of the 1990 scandal which led to the death of Tim McElwain. Terrifying isn’t it.

The scandal didn’t hold Robin back:

Since retiring from laboratory research, I’ve served on international advisory committees, such as the chairing the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative and being a founder member on the Board of the new Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI). While I still possess my mental marbles it’s rewarding to be able to offer advice and expertise on research and management, especially in Africa, where TB and HIV epidemics are most alarming. Currently, I advise the Indian HIV Translational Antibody Research laboratory and I’m a member of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics. Not least, I enjoy being affiliated to i-Sense owing to my expertise on llama single-chain antibodies, sometimes called nanobodies.’

Ralph Oxley, one of the lecturers in the Dept of Plant Biology at UCNW who was a colleague of D.G.E. Wood’s wife Chris Wood and who was married to Isobel Hargreaves, a Gwynedd social worker who worked with Dafydd’s gang, kept llamas. This lot are so bloody incestuous that I wouldn’t be surprised if Ralph and Isobel supplied the llamas for Weiss’s research. Ralph and Isobel kept their llamas at their home in Tregarth which also doubled up as a tourist attraction called ‘The Joys of Life’. There were lots of fascinating anecdotes circulating about life chez Oxley. On one occasion Isobel got so angry when the alarm clock woke her up that she threw it through the window. The Oxleys also became famous for having their electricity disconnected because they didn’t pay the bill and the llamas caused much complaint because they spat at people. None of these matters constituted serious offences and I take a liberal view of such chaos, but had one of Isobel’s Empowered Service User clients (many of whom were destitute) been the subject of such tales, it would have been documented everywhere that they were ‘chaotic and personality disordered’. Ralph and Isobel however, being in receipt of two salaries which at the time made them affluent by Gwynedd standards, were just pleasantly eccentric.

The Oxleys eventually moved to Menai Bridge and Ralph died of a heart attack some years ago. I presume that this was not yet another suspicious death, although Ralph was Someone Who Knew who pegged out just as Operational Pallial was launched and when it was clear that a Review of the Waterhouse Inquiry would be taking place. Everyone was very sad because the Oxleys were ready for a glorious retirement, having purchased a castle in Spain which they were renovating.

Incredible isn’t it. Everyone who worked with that gang did really, really well for themselves even in the face of extreme fuckwittery. Which for Ralph began when he was young. The reason that Ralph didn’t have a PhD was because he left his thesis on a bus before the viva and he didn’t have a second copy. Not that it ever held him back…

I am not the only person who is less than convinced by the claims of Robin Weiss. There is an extensive account available on the web, denouncing Weiss as ‘Professor of Virology, Doctor of Spin’, which is ‘Edward Hooper’s response to Robin Weiss’s “Concluding remarks” at the 2001 Lincei conference on “Origin of HIV and Emerging Persistent Viruses”. It is explained that ‘This article is part of a collection of material on Polio vaccines and the origins of AIDS which in turn is part of Brian Martin’s website on suppression of dissent’ and ‘In his concluding speech at the Lincei conference of September 2001, later published under the title ‘Emerging Persistent Infections: Family Heirlooms and New Acquisitions’ [Weiss, 2003], Professor Robin Weiss devoted a section to the origins of AIDS debate. However, like his other interventions in this debate at the Royal Society conference on “Origins of HIV and the AIDS epidemic” and in the pages of Nature, this paper contained many observations that were flawed, misleading, or simply untrue.’

After this introduction, there follows a complete destruction of some of Robin Weiss’s work.

Robin Weiss mentions in his interview that two of his colleagues who were part of the Story Of HIV were Richard Tedder and Peter Beverly.

Richard Tedder was Head of the Department of Virology at the UCL Medical School and he now works as virologist at Public Health England.

Richard Tedder is the youngest son of Marshal of the Royal Air Force, Lord Arthur Tedder.

Arthur Tedder was a pilot and squadron commander in the Royal Flying Corps in WWI and he went on to serve as a senior officer in the RAF during the inter-war years when he served in Turkey, Great Britain and the Far East.

At the outbreak of WWII in 1939, Tedder’s department was transferred to the newly created Ministry of Aircraft Production, but Tedder was unable to form a good working relationship with the Minister, Lord Beaverbrook and consequently with PM Churchill; on 29 November 1940, Tedder became Deputy Air Officer Commanding in Chief, RAF Middle East Command with the acting rank of Air Marshal. Tedder directed air operations in the Mediterranean and North Africa, including the evacuation of Crete and Operation Crusader in North Africa. His bombing tactics became known as the “Tedder Carpet”. Later in the war Tedder took command of Mediterranean Air Command and in that role was closely involved in the planning of the Allied invasion of Sicily and then the Allied invasion of Italy. When Operation Overlord  – the invasion of France -came to be planned, Tedder was appointed Deputy Supreme Commander at Supreme HQ Allied Expeditionary Force under General Eisenhower.

However Tedder developed an antipathy towards the British General Montgomery and during the Battle of Normandy and later, he was a critic of Montgomery’s performance and advocated Montgomery’s removal from command. In the last year of the war, Tedder was sent to the Soviet Union to seek assistance as the Western Front came under pressure during the Battle of the Bulge. When the unconditional surrender of the Germans came in May 1945 Tedder signed on behalf of General Eisenhower. He was promoted to the substantive rank of Air Chief Marshal on 6 June 1945. Tedder was awarded the Soviet Order of Kutuzov (1st class) on 28 August 1945 and promoted to Marshal of the Royal Air Force on 12 September 1945.

I was about 10 yrs old when I realised that parts of the history of WWII were politely not discussed any longer. I discovered this when I read an old book for children that I found in my grandpa’s house called ‘The Empire Youth Annual’ which had been published after WWII to ‘celebrate victory’; grandpa had purchased a copy for my father and uncle. There were a series of photos inside of ‘The Heroes Who Helped Us Win The War’, one photo of which was of course of Stalin. Who was a very popular man in Britain immediately after WWII.

Tedder took over from as Chief of the Air Staff on 1 January 1946. In that role he advocated increased recruiting in the face of many airmen leaving the service, doubled the size of Fighter Command and implemented arrangements for the Berlin Airlift in 1948.
Tedder was granted a peerage as Baron Tedder of Glenguin on 8 February 1946 and received the American Distinguished Service Medal on 14 June 1946. He become Chairman, British Joint Services Mission in Washington in January 1950 before retiring in May 1951. In 1951 Tedder accepted an invitation to Chair the Royal Commission on University Education in Dundee which ultimately led to the creation of the Queen’s College Dundee as a college of the University of St Andrews. Tedder’s son John, Richard’s brother, would later be a Professor at both the University of Dundee (as Queen’s College eventually became) and at St Andrews.
Dafydd’s mate/umbrella/partner-in-crime Professor Robert Bluglass (see previous posts) studied medicine at St Andrews, remained part of its alumni network and will have known Prof – later Lord – John Tedder and probably knew the other Tedders as well, Bluglass being someone who shamelessly ingratiated himself to useful people.

Lord Arthur Tedder served as Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, 1950-67. His election to that office was after a huge scrap and much bad feeling. Tedder was considered to be the ‘establishment candidate’ and a group of others entitled to vote – including Bertrand Russell, R.A.B. Butler, E.M. Forster and Lord Louis Mountbatten – supported the name put forward by another group of dons, Pandit Nehru, then India’s PM. The atmosphere became so unpleasant that eventually Nehru asked to be nominated. In the end, just under 200 people voted, during drizzling rain. After half an hour of voting, the Senior Proctor announced that Tedder had been duly elected, without giving any figures. Who knows, around the back of the sheds there could have been a litter bin with the contents smouldering away…

Lord Tedder also served as Chairman of the Standard Motor Company, 1954-60 and as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors of the BBC.

Arthur Tedder’s seniority and activities during WWII meant that he undoubtedly knew about the shenanigans in High Places, including Royal Places, described in my post ‘The Defence Of The Realm’. Tedder would also have known people like Admiral Sir Alec Bingley, who was also party to those shenanigans and who’s wife Lady Juliet and son William spent the rest of their careers in MIND – and in William’s case as Chief Exec of the Mental Health Act Commission as well – concealing those shenanigans and on into the next generation re Those Who Knew ie. Dafydd et al. The fact that Tedder fell out with people like Churchill and Montgomery and lived to fight another day and pick up a peerage as well suggests that he was wielding a great deal of power over the highest levels of Gov’t and the Military for some reason…

No wonder Cambridge University had to ensure that Tedder became Chancellor.

Arthur Tedder died in 1967. So he was around long enough to help Dafydd early in his career as well as Gwynne the lobotomist. After that of course Arthur Tedder’s sons were there to keep the flag flying…

One of the best ever cartoon strips in ‘Private Eye’ was ‘Battle for Britain’, part of their ‘War Picture Library’ collection. It was a satirical presentation of the struggles of the Labour Party opposition led by the Windbag against the Tory Gov’t led by Thatch.

In a tank Herr Thatchler leads the charge; Jock Steel and Doc “Killer” Owen are helplessly entrenched; and “Fatty” Heffer looks cynically on as “Taffy” Kinnock leads the retreat.

Arthur Tedder’s youngest son Richard Tedder was educated at Dauntsey’s School, Cambridge University and the Middlesex Hospital. Tedder was Research Assistant to Professor Richard Harrison at the London Hospital Medical School and then worked with Dr J. D. H. Slater at the Middlesex Hospital, 1973-74. Following that, Tedder worked with Sir Anthony Grabham at Kettering General Hospital for a year. Tony Grabham was one of the Top Doctors leaders whom Ken Clarke did battle with and loathed when Clarke was in the DoH. Well Ken, Brown and I and a few others had evidence which could have jailed some of the BMA bastards but you were prioritising Sir Peter Morrison’s career and liberty weren’t you.

Grabham was a surgeon and a British Army officer, who was active in medical politics. He was Chairman of the BMA in the late 1970s to early 1980s and was a member of the GMC for twenty years.

Grabham was born in 1930 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and his father was a police inspector. Born into the heart of those who concealed the longstanding abuse gang in the north east who had strong links with Dafydd et al by the late 1960s then…

Grabham qualified from the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, so he will have known Dafydd’s other big mate, the Bastard of Newcastle, Lord John Walton, who also cluttered up the BMA and GMC during the 1980s (see previous posts).

In 1954, Grabham served with the RAMC, 1954-56 and was then transferred to the TA. He ended his military service in 1957. Grabham wrote on medico-politics for the BMJ.

Grabham was given a K in the New Years Honours of 1988. That will have been some sort of reward for keeping the lid on the heap of dung which was Dafydd et al in north Wales; in 1988, Dafydd and Tony Francis’s mates were in the middle of those research frauds with the CRC and ICRF…

Grabham’s 2015 obituary – yes, he was here until recently, nailing lids firmly shut – in the Indie told us a few interesting things:

Frustrated at the BMA’s poor performance, Grabham decided to do something about it. He was elected Chairman of the Central Committee for Hospital Medical Services in 1975, the Council of the BMA in 1979 and the Joint Consultants Committee (JCC) in 1984. The JCC is made up of representatives of the BMA and the Medical Royal Colleges and negotiates with the Government on all hospital matters, except pay and terms and conditions of service. The committee had always been chaired by someone from the royal colleges; Grabham was the first BMA person to fill the role.’

The JCC also appointed the ‘Independent’ Top Doctors who Chaired Professional Reviews in the wake of serious NHS complaints. It was the JCC who appointed Dafydd’s mate Bluglass and the also fully-on-board-with Dafydd Dr Colin Berry as ‘Independent’ opinions to investigate my complaint about Dafydd et al in 1989 (see post ‘Enter Professor Robert Bluglass CBE’). Thanks Grabham!

A major highlight of his career came in 1975. Harold Wilson’s government published a consultative document on the separation of private practice from the NHS. The BMA described this as “perhaps the greatest threat to the independence of the medical profession since the controversy associated with the introduction of the NHS 30 years ago.”

But their hearts lie with the NHS!

Grabham helped to put together an alliance of the BMA and 15 other medical and dental organisations. They hired Lord Goodman, who arranged a meeting with the Prime Minister.

Lord Arnold Goodman was Harold Wilson’s solicitor. Goodman was widely suspected of being a crook. Lord Goodman represented Jeremy Thorpe for the first part of Thorpe’s case when Thorpe was charged with incitement to murder Norman Scott (see previous posts). So Grabham went straight to the top for help to fight his corner then.

Lord Goodman advised that although Grabham was the junior member of the alliance only he should speak at the meeting. A compromise, known as the Goodman proposals, was reached: private beds would not be phased out of NHS hospitals where there were no adequate private facilities close by. Threatened sanctions and industrial action were averted.

Barbara Castle said that negotiating with Grabham was like being “shot at with silver bullets” and that, although he was greedy and arrogant, he was “the best negotiator I have ever dealt with and a huge force in committee meetings.” In her diary she wrote. “Grabham made all the running. He is by far the ablest (and toughest) negotiator they have got.”

Babs meant that Grabham had the shit on all of them and made it clear that he would use it. Brave Battling Babs the Flame Haired Fearless Socialist didn’t grab Grabham by the knackers and say ‘do your jobs you callous pompous bastards’ because there was that little matter of George Thomas… and Greville… and so many more… And of course Babs Who Hated Private Medicine had Gone Private herself for her fertility treatment and what would have happened to Babs’s credibility if anyone had found out about that?

When they sat next to each other at a dinner 10 years later she said, “You’re the Tony Grabham?” When he agreed that he was, she retorted, “You were a bugger.”

I’d have kneed him in the groin so hard that he’d have needed the assistance of his colleagues.

Barbara Castle was not the only minister to cross swords with Grabham. When the Conservative government planned to radically reform the NHS in 1990 some members of the House of Lords feared the reforms might harm patient care. So the Health Secretary, Kenneth Clarke, set up the Clinical Standards Advisory Group to explore alternatives, but he specified that the group should not include the BMA, particularly the JCC chairman, whom he regarded as “one of the cleverest and most difficult negotiator he had ever come across.” But the President of the Royal College of Surgeons, Sir Terence English, refused to take part unless the BMA was involved.’

It just goes on and on doesn’t it. Stupid vain politicians who are so compromised that they are repeatedly blackmailed by greedy equally compromised Top Doctors in a battle of who blinks first. The politicians know what the ultimate manoeuvre will be: a Top Doctors’ strike and in the events of the first patient to die, the Gov’t will fall. So a criminal gang ran north Wales unhindered.

A second highlight came in 1979 when Grabham was persuaded by leading general practitioners to stand as chairman of the BMA council against the incumbent, James Cameron, another general practitioner. He won at a time when the membership of the association had fallen to about 50 per cent of British doctors.’

Even the other Top Doctors were sick of the grandiose old masons who were running medicine and bullying the junior doctors into the ground. In 1978, Dafydd Wigley had asked Shirl, Callaghan’s Education Secretary, to hold a Public Inquiry into Sir Charles Evans’s management of UCNW, such was the havoc. There was no Inquiry, which I think was just as well for Dafydd Wigley’s sake actually, because everyone knew what the problem was: Dr Dafydd Alun Jones and the gang, whom no-one would reign in. See previous posts eg. ‘Slaves, Perfect Slaves’. In 1979, Dafydd had Mary Wynch unlawfully arrested and imprisoned in Risley Remand Centre and then in Denbigh. Grabham said and did nothing. He just took over the BMA.

Under his leadership the BMA introduced regional services and industrial relations officers to help doctors in their disputes with employers. Membership increased to 75-80 per cent of doctors, and the largest increase in membership of the association came while Grabham was council chairman.

So the decent Top Docs who were becoming disillusioned and concerned were sunk and outnumbered by the greedy bastards encouraged by Grabham.

He illustrated his financial acumen by starting BMA Services, which helped members with their financial affairs. This tied in members, who lost the services if they resigned. BMA Services was eventually sold for £500m. He was a business leader manqué.

But our hearts are with the NHS! All we are concerned about is patient care… Ooh I was a young doctor before the advent of the NHS and I remember Typhoid Mary well… And Florence Nightingale… Do you know my nephew Ed, he wants to be PM…

Grabham was a member of the General Medical Council for 20 years, running twice unsuccessfully for President.

So Grabham was one of those batting all the complaints about Dafydd re sexual impropriety, illegal imprisonment and patient deaths into the long grass. An even bigger bastard will have been elected President.

In 1993 he became Chairman of the journal committee of the BMJ Publishing Group. Thanks in part to his business knowledge the group’s turnover rose from £12m in 1991 to £55m in 2004.

But our hearts are with the NHS! (shurely shome mistake – Ed)

In 2002 he was elected president of the BMA. In his presidential address he said that he was “a child of the NHS”, but criticised the service’s chronic underfunding.

I told you – Typhoid Mary, Florence etc etc, he remembered it well. The only problem all those centuries later was that the Top Docs didn’t have enough money, despite those figures quoted in previous paragraphs. In 2002, Miranda was PM and Miranda was known for throwing billions at the Top Doctors in return for complete suppression of whistleblowers eg. Mid-Staffs, North Wales…

He said that a third of the NHS was of the highest quality, a third reasonably good, and a third verging on Third World medicine.

Thanks to Dafydd et al receiving complete protection from Tony Grabham and his mates…

Although he knew that it was against BMA policy he suggested looking at other healthcare systems rather than relying on a tax-based healthcare system.

But our hearts are in the NHS!

Grabham loved foreign travel, particularly to Egypt and the Caribbean. He was interested in antiques and enjoyed good food.

Somehow I thought that he would. Empowered Service Users lived rough, even some in Bethesda, let alone in big metropolitan centres.

Some colleagues and opponents found him arrogant and ruthless,

Never???

but he was always polite and dignified.

So was Bluglass actually, but just look at what he was doing…

He and his wife, Pam, who was a staunch supporter throughout his medical and political careers, were kind and thoughtful.

Bless!

Their first child, Sarah, who has Down’s Syndrome, always came first when they were making travel or social arrangements.

Yes, Grabham will have looked after his own. While thousands of other Down’s syndrome people were systematically neglected by the NHS, resulting in them having an average life-span some 25 years shorter than other people. In Bryn-y-Neuadd, Gwynedd, people like Grabham’s daughter were Helped To Explore Their Sexual Needs and Supported In Their Sexual Relationships by Dafydd’s colleagues…

‘Even after he developed spindle cell sarcoma last year they found time to send me flowers after I had had an operation.’

Grabham bothered to sent flowers to the writer of this obituary (Linda Beecham) because she was worth knowing. I’d like to have seen the details of his flowers orders; I can predict who will have been on the receiving end of those flowers.

Now here’s a few extracts from Grabham’s Torygraph obit:

‘The Association was then at a low ebb, almost moribund in the view of some doctors. Its image was still bruised by its opposition to the introduction of the NHS, and many doctors saw its only priority as increasing the pay of GPs. One senior physician was heard to remark: “The BMA is just about one four letter word: CASH.” As a result only about half of doctors belonged to the organisation and hospital doctors were obviously discontented. The Association’s problems were compounded by demoralised staff and a lacklustre team of chief officers.

Then, in 1979, the exception to this, Jim Cameron, the chairman of the BMA Council and a popular and successful GP negotiator, reneged on a promise to serve for only three years despite the fact that, given his age (74) and his preoccupation with general practice, many regarded him as unfit to continue. In a dramatic turn of events some GPs lobbied Grabham to oppose him and he was overwhelmingly successful in the subsequent election.

Fortunately Grabham’s start as chairman coincided with the election of new chief officer colleagues of a different calibre. The new-look Association began by concentrating on serving the whole of the profession as well as taking a public stance on scientific and ethical questions. As a result the membership of the BMA reached its highest level ever under Grabham’s chairmanship, while its image was polished by a revamped public relations department.

Some of the increase in membership may have reflected his introduction of BMA Services, an attractive scheme of benefits for members which Grabham copied from Canada. He became its director, as he did of Private Patients Plan, which the BMA adopted two years later.

Grabham retired from the BMA chairmanship in 1984 but his experience as a negotiator continued to serve him well in the final phase of his career. This included a year as president of the BMA and the chairmanship, from 1995, of the British Medical Journal Group, masterminding its transition into an independent body, though linked to the BMA. Its new status freed the BMJ of the need to report the humdrum detail of BMA activities and allowed it to enhance its reputation as a professional journal of international importance. The group itself developed electronic publication and expanded its range of specialty journals, with both financial turnover and profitability increasing to levels that justified Grabham’s hands-on approach.

Grabham’s devotion to his patients and his profession meant that he neglected to develop other interests, preferring instead to go for long holidays in the sun and buying bibelots after prolonged bargaining which could verge on the embarrassing. He always carried a hand lens to detect flaws with which he cajoled many a jeweller to slash the asking price .

He was a private man whose immediate courtesy and charm concealed the ambition and even ruthlessness in some of his political and business dealings. But his real nature came out in his deep devotion to his family.

A few extracts from the BMJ’s obit to shed yet more light on this misunderstood Top Doctor who was all heart:

Barbara Castle, who was secretary of state for health, was proposing to phase out private practice from NHS hospitals and change the consultant contract to favour full timers over part timers. Consultants opposed this strongly as they felt it betrayed the contract they’d agreed with Aneurin Bevan at the start of the NHS.

At the time Grabham was the chair of the Central Committee for Hospital Medical Services (CCHMS, the “consultants’ committee” of the BMA), and he put together a “grand alliance” of the BMA, the royal colleges, BUPA, and a member of the Hospital Consultants Association (HCA), a body that then threatened the BMA’s pre-eminence in representing consultants. For £20 000 (about £90 000 now) the alliance hired Lord Goodman, a friend of Wilson and the fixer of his day. He arranged a meeting of the group with Wilson and with a single phone call ensured an editorial supporting the consultants in a leading newspaper.

Goodman’s advice was that only Grabham speak in the meeting despite him being the most junior. Grabham expected Wilson to be a “rough diamond,” but he was dressed smartly and smoking a big cigar when the doctors arrived. Surrounded by older and grander men, including the presidents of the royal colleges, Grabham put the consultants’ case in what we can be sure was his clear, precise, polite, but firm manner. Wilson asked the then president of the Royal College of Surgeons what he thought, but, following Goodman’s advice, the president said that only Grabham would answer for the profession. The meeting was a success in that a compromise was found..’

Tony Grabham was given his knighthood for ‘his work in Chairing the JCC’. That 1988 knighthood. My complaint about Dafydd et al took so long to meander through the system and was subject to so many delays that although Bluglass didn’t perform the cover-up until the summer of 1989, my original complaint was made early in 1987. I have documentation demonstrating the numerous lies that were told to me, the number of documents that were forged/amended/post-dated etc. Tony Grabham was almost certainly still Chairing the JCC or very heavily influencing it when someone decided that Bluglass and Berry would need to be mobilised.

Grabham married, in 1960, Pamela Rudd, who survives him with their two sons and two daughters; two of his children are doctors.

Dr John Anthony Grabham is listed as a Director of various companies including Surrey and Sussex Colorectal Ltd; Surrey and Sussex Consultant Partnership Ltd.

After his stint learning the ropes at the knee of Sir Anthony Grabham, Richard Tedder was appointed as Assistant Lecturer/Senior Registrar at the Middlesex Hospital Medical School, 1975-76. From 1977 to 1979 he was Wellcome Research Fellow at Middlesex in the Department of Medical Microbiology and a Lecturer in the same department, 1980-81. Tedder was appointed a Senior Lecturer at UCL Medical School in 1981; was Head of the Division of Virology, 1982-95, in 1991 being appointed Professor of Medical Virology. He became Head of the Department of Virology in 1995.

Tedder’s first published work was on Hep B, with later work on the diagnostic development and treatment of HIV and Hep C. He also has interests in chronic viral infections of the liver. Tedder is a consultant virologist to the National Blood Service and a member of several DoH, Royal College of Pathologists and Strategic Health Authorities working parties and groups in the fields of virology and pathology.

Richard Tedder is also:

  • Honorary Consultant, Department of Microbiological Reagents, Public Health Laboratory Service, Colindale, 1981-
  • Short term external Consultant, Global Project on AIDS, World Health Organisation, Geneva, Switzerland, 1987-
  • Director of Virology Service, UCL Hospitals 1991 onwards
  • Honorary Consultant Microbiologist, North London Blood Transfusion Centre, Colindale, 1981 onwards
  • Department of Health Advisory Group on Hepatitis
  • Consultant Virologist to the National Blood Service, 1995 onwards
  • Head of Blood Borne Virus Unit at the Centre for Infections, Health Protection Agency, Colindale
  • Standing Advisory Committee on Transfusion Transmitted Infections
  • Advisory Committee on the Safety of Blood, Tissues and Organs (SaBTO)
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians
  • Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and Council Member
  • Society for General Microbiology
  • European Association for the Study of the Liver
  • European Rapid Viral Diagnosis Group

Richard Tedder’s older brother, Lord John Tedder, spent 15 years lecturing in chemistry at Birmingham University and then was appointed to the Roscoe Chair in Chemistry at the University of Dundee. Tedder became Purdie Professor of Chemistry at St. Andrews University in 1969, and held the post until 1989. He then served as Emeritus Professor, 1989–94.

Bluglass was not only an alumni of St Andrews, but he held the Chair in Forensic Psychiatry at Birmingham University for many years as well.

Tedder succeeded his father as Baron Tedder and served in the Lords. Although he was apparently reluctant to perpetuate the title, he was persuaded by colleagues that the peerage system could benefit by the presence of a scientist and educator. He served on the House of Lords Committee on Hazardous Waste, and contributed to discussions in the House about matters of science and tertiary education. He was also honoured by his election to a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

In 1981, Tedder became a founding member of the World Cultural Council.

One of Lord John Tedder’s ‘time-consuming and abiding interests’ was the development of the Open University. The OU was a Harold Wilson initiative, the development of which Harold left to Jennie Lee and Lord Arnold Goodman to play with. Many paedophiles’ friends of an earlier generation were involved with the OU in its early days (see previous posts).

Richard and John Tedder’s grandfather, Sir Arthur Tedder, spent a life in the financial service of the Crown. He was Chief Inspector from 1906 to 1911 of Customs and Excise and above all others was the official responsible for the organisation of the machinery of the first old-age pension scheme in the world. Working directly for both Asquith and Lloyd George as Chancellor, Sir Arthur Tedder was an imaginative innovator who became one of Lloyd George’s favourite senior officials. Arthur Tedder occupied the key post of Commissioner of Customs and Excise from the watershed budget of 1909 with its tax on property until the end of the WWI.

So famille Tedder have been telling people in Gov’t what to do for generations.

There is very little trace of Robin Wesiss’s colleague Peter Beverley on the internet, although Beverley’s name occasionally crops up here and there. He can be found on the ResearchGate website, listed as an Emeritus Professor at Imperial College. Here’s his mugshot:

Peter Beverley

Beverley’s qualifications indicate that he was a Top Doctor as well as a scientist. Beverley also gets a mention in the biography of Professor Mala Maini, Professor of Viral Immunology in the Division of Infection & Immunity, Faculty of Medical Sciences, UCL:

‘I am Professor of Viral Immunology in the Division of Infection and Immunity at University College London, also working as a Consultant Physician in a viral hepatitis clinic. My research has always been closely informed by the patients I see in my clinics and the samples they generously donate for our work.

I obtained my specialist medical accreditation in 1995 and my PhD, funded by an MRC Clinical Training Fellowship, in the lab of Peter Beverley (ICRF, London) in 1998. A unifying theme in my research training has been the T cell immunology of persistent viral infections in humans (from EBV to HIV and then HBV). Whilst funded by the Edward Jenner Institute to work on HIV-2, I joined forces with Antonio Bertoletti and became increasingly focused on HBV immunopathogenesis, starting my own group in this field in 2002. After an MRC/Academy of Medical Sciences Clinical Scientist Fellowship, I moved into a tenured position at UCL and a personal chair in 2009. In 2013 I obtained a Wellcome Trust Senior Investigator Award.

Other positions I currently hold:

  • Deputy Head of the Department of Immunology
  • Chair of the Athena Swan team, Division of Infection and Immunity
  • Deputy Post-graduate tutor, Division of Infection and Immunity
  • UCLP Theme Leader for Immunity/Immunotherapy of Chronic Infection
Research Themes
Cancer
Infection, Immunology & Inflammation
Personalised Medicine

 Research Summary
  • Our research programme is focused on dissecting the immune correlates of viral persistence and liver damage in order to allow the development of novel immunotherapeutic strategies for hepatitis B virus (HBV).
  • As well as being of great medical importance in its own right, HBV provides a useful model to provide insights into liver immunology, which has relevance for other hepatotropic infections and malignancies, liver transplantation and autoimmunity.
  • We have become fascinated by how the liver utilises multiple specialised cell types and pathways to maintain a uniquely tolerant immunological environment. Defining the mechanisms of hepatic tolerance is critical to understanding how three of the most prevalent and devastating human pathogens, HBV, hepatitis C virus and malaria, take advantage of this niche in which to replicate and/or persist.
  • We are also interested in how hepatic immune responses mediate and regulate the liver damage that drives fibrosis, ultimately leading to the complications of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) that still kill an estimated 600,000 people a year with chronic HBV infection. This is of particular interest in patients co-infected with HBV and HIV who have ongoing high mortality from accelerated liver fibrosis.
  • Existing therapies are rarely able to cure HBV or complications like HCC so our goal is to develop tailored boosting of antiviral immunity. The rationale for this approach is based on the fact that many adults control HBV through their natural immune response without overwhelming liver damage.
Teaching Summary

I have made substantial contributions to various teaching programmes over the years and have acquired extensive experience in teaching through seminars, interactive tutorials, and one on one in the lab or clinic. I have taught medical students and junior doctors, BSc and MSc students, nurses and physiotherapists, and post-graduates on an Advanced Immunology course.
Currently I teach on the Immunology BSc and Virology BSc courses and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in the laboratory.

Prof. Beverley has served on numerous UK Government research committees and has published over 150 scientific papers in the field of immunology.’

So Beverley held a senior role at ICRF, when the ICRF was one of the bodies at the centre of the 1990 research scandal which resulted in the death of Tim McElwain. Could that be the reason why Peter Beverley has largely disappeared from the internet? Furthermore, just look at the address provided for Beverley in his capacity as a Member of the Advisory Board for MNLpharma Ltd:

Corporate Headquarters

Plas Gogerddan
Aberystwyth, Dyfed SY23 3EBUnited Kingdom

Phone: 44 1970 823 201

Now there’s a surprise.

Plas Goggerdan is the address of IBERS (the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences) at Abersytwyth University.

It was claimed that:

MNLpharma (‘MNL’) is a private UK drug discovery and development company focused on the exploitation of imino sugar therapeutics for the prevention and treatment of disease. The company’s in-house programmes focus on cancer, and infectious diseases. MNLpharma has discovery and development programmes in the areas of immunomodulation and direct acting antivirals with a number of compounds showing promise against several key viral pathogens where effective treatments are currently lacking.

MNLpharma’s lead compound (MNLP462a) is an imino sugar immunomodulator which has demonstrated impressive protective and therapeutic effects in in vivo cancer models. As a broad spectrum immunotherapeutic MNLP462a is anticipated to be developed for use in a wide range of diseases including infection and as such has great commercial value and potential. This candidate will enter the clinic in 2006.

Whether that candidate did enter the clinic in 2006 or whether that was just another load of spin by some chancers with links to Dafydd et al I do not know.

In addition to imino sugars, the company has a unique chemistry platform of pure, novel, drug-like natural compounds called Phytopure. This collection is being exploited in a limited number of highly targeted collaborations. Whilst its own imino sugar therapeutics are being developed in-house, MNLpharma seeks to exploit Phytopure through a limited number of alliances with companies that are leaders in specific fields.

Phytopure wasn’t the only thing that was being exploited.

‘We’re the paedophiles’ friends and you can’t get us.’

Phytopure led the the establishment of a company called PhytoQuest, also located at IBERS at Aberystwyth and which is very much still alive.

PhytoQuest’s website – which carries the logo of Aberystwyth University – tells us that PhytoQuest ‘owns science to innovate natural ingredients and compounds in the high-margin healthy-living products emerging from the convergence of food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. PhytoQuest traces its history back to 1999 when Prof. Robert Nash founded MolecularNature Limited (MNL) as a spin-off of the UK’s Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research (IGER). In 2006, MNL was bought by Summit Plc and in 2009 an MBO allowed for the formation of PhytoQuest Ltd.

Director
Dr. Nash leads PhytoQuest and is a global leader in the field of phytochemistry. He spent the first decade of his post-doctoral work focused “on anti-viral agents with the Medical Research Council AIDS-Directed Programme” at King’s College London and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. He then moved to IGER as the head of its chemistry group, and was a founding director of MNL and founded its holding company, MNL Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Dr Nash has published over 200 scientific publications and patents, and he was awarded the 1st Pierre-Fabre Award of the Phytochemical Society of Europe in 2001. Robert gives many international conference presentations and media interviews.’
The other staff of PhytoQuest are: Dr Barbara Bartholomew, Biochemist.
Dr. Bartholomew is an experienced biochemist and is responsible for bioassays and project management. Dr Jackie Hollinshead, Organic Chemist.
Dr. Hollinshead is a synthetic chemist by training and expert in structural elucidation and purifications. Hazel Sharp, Natural Products Chemist. Hazel has extensive commercial experience in compound purification and IT data management. Yana Penkova, Business Development. Yana is an agronomist who specialised in herbal medicines and food plants. She has long business experience in the chemical industry utilising her masters in Organic Chemistry.
PhyoQuest’s website’s ‘news’ section tells us that ‘PhytoQuest is conducting a number of clinical studies to support the health benefits of iminosugars in new retail products. Some new molecules are being pursued as novel pharmaceuticals for glucose control and reducing inflammation. PhytoQuest receives Biotechnology award as Global Leader in Phytochemistry from AI Global Media.’
PhytoQuest have worked with BEACON, who spoke most highly of PhytoQuest, which is not surprising, because BEACON is another Aberystwyth University-associated company, the Biorefining Centre of Excellence:

‘The BEACON Biorefining Centre of Excellence is a partnership between Aberystwyth, Bangor and Swansea Universities, working in the field of conversion of biomass into biobased products.  Led by Aberystwyth University, it is backed with nearly £8 million from the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government. BEACON helps Welsh businesses develop new ways of converting feedstocks (e.g. rye grass, oats, miscanthus) and waste streams into products which have applications in the pharmaceutical, chemicals, fuel and cosmetic industries.

BEACON will build on research already underway at Aberystwyth University’s Institute of Biological Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) to produce fuels from energy crops such as high-sugar grasses like rye. It will also enable Swansea University to focus on developing their expertise in using bacteria and fungi to digest, or ferment, plant matter within the bio-refining process.

Bangor University will build on work to develop new materials from plants which can be used to develop innovative products, having recently discovered that compounds found in some local plants can be used to control problems like potato blight.

We are seeking to:

  • Establish links between the business community and academia within Wales
  • Develop new products and processes that will support economic growth
  • Create highly skilled jobs in the area of green biotech
  • Support inward investment
  • Promote science excellence from Wales

BEACON offers businesses with interests in the biorefining sector access to the research, expertise and knowledge base of universities in Wales.
We can help:

  • Companies in the construction, packaging and manufacturing industries by developing new biocomposite materials
  • The bioscience industry – for example, developing new microbial or enzyme systems and technologies for the processing of biomass
  • The chemical industry by providing new sources of ‘green’ chemicals
  • Fuel producers by offering ‘green’ fuels, impacting on the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) and reducing carbon emissions
  • Rural communities by applying biorefinery technology to the processing of non-food crops

This encompasses a huge range of businesses in areas as diverse as: Agrochemicals, Bio Fuels, Coatings and Adhesives, Cosmetics and Personal, Essential Oils, Lubricants, Nutraceuticals, Pharmaceuticals, Speciality Polymers, Surfactants, Water and Effluent Treatment, for example.

The BEACON partners can undertake:

  • Formulation of new biocomposites
  • Extrusion / bioplastics
  • Novel chemistries / applications
  • Metabolic engineering of yeasts
  • Protein modelling such as new enzymes, e.g. for food industry or bioprocessing
The Institutes with which Robert Nash is associated at Aberystwyth University are part of the Agricultural Sciences/Plant Biology bits of Aber. One of the plant biology academics at Aber is the son of ‘Davey Crockett’, an Angel who spent many years working at the North Wales Hospital, Denbigh, manning Dafydd’s Dungeon. Davey Crockett’s real name was I’m fairly sure Jones, so his son will be one of the academics called Jones featured on the IBERS webpages. Davey Crockett’s daughter is a social worker who ended up with a job as a senior social worker in the Office of the Children’s Commissioner for Wales. See previous posts. They all loathed Dafydd but were very frightened of him and called for his assistance in the event of emergencies. Not that Dafydd always delivered…
The Agri Sciences/Plant Biology bits of Aberystwyth were closely linked to the same Depts at UCNW (Bangor). Both the Plant Biology and the Agri Dept at UCNW were very closely associated with Dafydd and his gang. Mary Wynch was working as a secretary in the Agri Dept when Dafydd had her unlawfully arrested and imprisoned and not one of her colleagues raised a concern. The Agri Dept was massively dysfunctional (see post ‘Not Seen Since The 80s – Carwyn’) and I believe that Mary discovered something appalling there, which was why she was targeted by Dafydd. Whatever Mary discovered I suspect had something to do with Lord Lloyd Kenyon, who was President of UCNW for many years and who’s adult son Thomas Tyrell-Kenyon was caught sexually abusing a boy in the care of the social services in the late 1970s. Thomas made a complaint of theft against the boy – among the items which the boy was alleged to have stolen were pornographic Polaroid photos of him and Thomas together – and the boy was sent to a detention centre. Thomas faced no charges. Lord Kenyon’s special interests were agriculture and health. He held many appointments, including with the North Wales Police Authority and Clwyd Health Authority. Lord Kenyon sat as a magistrate, was a Director of Lloyds Bank and the most senior Freemason in Wales and much else besides (see post ‘A Bit More Paleontology’).
Professor Richard Howath, an agricultural economist at UCNW, somehow ended up as one of Thatch’s advisers during the 1980s, despite the standing joke which was the Agri Dept. Howarth was a man of right wing and anti-European sentiment who disappeared off the face of the earth during the mid-1990s. He was last heard of running a B&B. See previous posts.
A paedophiles’ friend who was a student and then a member of staff in the Agric Dept at UCNW was Dr John Perkins, who later became the Academic Registrar at UCNW. John Perkins did all that he possibly could to stop me from getting a PhD. Firstly he pushed the boat out so far in terms of not registering me when I first began my PhD but failing to tell me this that I had already written my first journal article when my PhD supervisor received a phone call from the University authorities telling him that I hadn’t registered so obviously I would be withdrawing from my PhD. My supervisor explained that I was sitting at the desk next to him, I had written my first chapter and drafted a journal article and I had registered weeks ago. In the end it took a series of visits and phone calls to Perkins and an order from my supervisor to register me. It was even more fun when I finished my PhD and passed my viva. Perkins just could not find it in him to sign the bit of paper necessary to send to the Registry at the University of Wales HQ to enable me to actually receive my PhD. Phone calls and visits from my supervisor and I were ignored. After weeks of this I paid yet another visit to Perkins’s office only to be told that he wasn’t there. I found him in a corridor and told the bastard that if that piece of paper wasn’t signed within the next couple of days I’d begin legal action against the University. I received my PhD within two days.
Lest readers think that I spend all my time threatening to take legal action against people, no, I honestly do not. I had however learned from decades of bitter experience that it was the only thing that will sometimes shift the paedophiles’ friends. It isn’t always successful even then, because they’re a load of perjuring bastards with an extensive network of bent lawyers and the whole lot of them break the law with impunity constantly.
I have received an e mail from someone today who’s mother died at the hands of the paedophiles’ friends and after smelling what she thought was a small rat, she investigated and uncovered a mountain of corruption leading to the doorway of Dr Brian Gibbons, former Welsh Gov’t Health Minister. It didn’t surprise me. My correspondent observed that perhaps she had been very silly being so open and transparent with that lot. No she hadn’t. They are such a bunch of maggots that being more honest than they are is about the only thing that will save you. They always interpret honesty as naivety or stupidity or that you are someone who can be easily intimidated, because the concept of fair play is just completely alien to them. Honest = idiot in their eyes. They spend their entire time knifing each other and only unite in the face of the Enemy ie. those who are Not Of Dafydd’s Gang. The glue that binds them together is their own serious criminality; they blackmail each other with their own wrongdoing constantly to get what they want. If you are not a serious criminal they can’t do that to you.
I spent decades having that lot face me with allegations of ludicrous crimes: ‘ooh you swore at Dr DA’, ‘ooh you shouted at an Angel’, ‘ooh that social worker was terrified, she thought that she was going to be murdered’, all the way through to stupid, fantastical allegations about me being a potential mass murderer and a danger to children and God knows what and they told absolutely everybody else that I was as well. I now have 10,000 documents, demonstrating the most dreadful crimes on the part of the whole lot of them, all the way up to High Court judges. People have spent years ‘discussing’ matters with them, sending in task forces and management consultants and turnaround senior managers, holding inquiries and investigations and asking them if they would do things differently faced with the same situation. Of course they wouldn’t, they were and are a gang of criminals and they should have been dealt with in 1979 when they wrecked Mary Wynch’s life. I have now kicked them hard and there is more to come. Those bastards have had this coming for a very long time. People have been good enough to send me e mails thanking me. They don’t need to and contrary to some comments I am not ‘brave’ either. I just got fucking sick of them and sick of no-one dealing with them as the bodies mounted up.
You shouldn’t have done it tossers, not to me or anyone else. You had this coming to you. You have killed my friends, killed my friend’s baby, harassed and threatened me, swindled me, lied about me, tried to kill Brown, tried to have me imprisoned repeatedly, paid people to lie about me, terrorised people who supported me and had me sacked from nearly every job that I have ever had, yet plagiarised my work to gain further funding because you couldn’t do it yourselves. You are completely incapable of responding to anything positive at all, you just can’t do it. So I’ve gone public on the whole lot because I know how many other people you have done this to who have just quietly been destroyed by you.
I’ll remind the caring Angels of the Hergest Unit of the lady with heart problems whom they dragged out of her bad, naked, while she was having a heart attack, screaming at her that she was a fat lazy bitch. Not very nice was it Angels? It nearly fucking killed her as well, a Top Doctor was eventually called and she ended up in intensive care. Loads of people knew about that incident but no-one, no-one blew the whistle. That patient has been too frightened ever to return to Ysbyty Gwynedd.
Just carry on planting a few more Good News PR stories in the media Angels and Top Doctors, because there are more blog posts to come.
By the way, a BBC journalist knew about the lady who had a heart attack while lying naked on the floor with the dulcet tones of Angels swearing at her ringing in her ears, but no, we never heard anything about it did we… Just the usual, ‘Ah The Doctors They Were Wonderful’…
As for those assisting with the Empowered Service Users Group at the North West Wales NHS Trust, one was Ann Perkins, wife of John Perkins. Ann is involved with the church in Menai Bridge. She uttered not a word about the serious abuse of patients and the deaths. Her colleague on the same Empowered Service Users Group was the Rev Wynne Roberts, a former Church in Wales vicar who was sacked for shagging one of his parishioners – they were both married to other people at the time – and then given the job of the Chaplain in Ysbyty Gwynedd. Wynne witnessed the abuse and deaths of psych patients and said nothing. He served the NW Wales NHS Trust so well that he was given a job in senior management with them and he also sat on the Ethics Committee. Wynne’s son is an Angel who trained at Bangor University while his dad was sitting on the Ethics Committee and part of the Trust management. Wynne took a special interest in mental health and ended up sitting on Mental Health Review Tribunals. In recent years, Wynne has been raising the spirits of the Empowered Service Users and indeed raising money for the NHS by dressing up and impersonating Elvis. If readers unfamiliar with the North Wales NHS cannot believe that it really does employ a singing Elvis-impersonating vicar who shags his parishioners, read more in my post ‘Music Therapy Anyone?’.
There has been excitement at Aberystwyth University over the past couple of weeks as a result of the new Bovine TB Institute that either has opened or will soon be opening there soon. Wales’s Chief Veterinary Officer Professor Christianne Glossop was on hand to say a few words. Christianne Glossop was appointed Wales’s first CVO in 2005. She might have found that she has a task on her hands.
Think that a gang of paedophiles and people traffickers could not possibly have domain over vets? Think again. Empowered Service Users who dared complain about Dafydd and the gang subsequently found it very hard to get treatment for their pets. Even customers of the vets who had been known to the practices for years and had always paid their bills, after Challenging The Paedophiles’ Friends, would find that somehow their pets would not be treated. If you took your pet in as an emergency, there would be a row about payment before your pet was treated and then whatever the situation, a refusal to treat the pet, even if it was in agony. I witnessed Peter Jones of Treborth vets refuse to treat the pet dog of a customer whom he had known for a good 15 years who had always paid, after the Word From Dafydd had been sent out. When I watched the scene I just thought that Peter Jones must be a really nasty piece of work, which was confirmed when I heard two other people allege that he had injured their pets while treating them. A few years later, I discovered that Peter Jones was in the same Bible study group (yes it’s unbelievable isn’t it) as a Top Doctor who had worked at Hergest and who was the Chair of the BMA young GPs group…
There is another vet in Bangor called Evelyn to whom no-one would go because he was so unpleasant, although Evelyn seemed to be offensive to everyone, not just to Empowered Service Users. Evelyn’s finest hour came when a terrier was hit by a car in Tregarth and his owners took him to Evelyn. The terrier’s owners were new to the village and went to Evelyn because they had seen the massive ‘Veterinary Surgery’ notice outside of his house. As they were walking up his path with their bleeding injured terrier in their arms, Evelyn was just about to close the surgery. They asked ‘our dog’s been run over, can you treat him?’ and Evelyn replied ‘if you’re asking me if it’s surgery hours no it isn’t, I’ve just finished.’ So the terrier’s owners replied that they weren’t asking him if it was surgery hours, they were asking him if he’d treat their dog. After an argument, Evelyn finally agreed.
Then there was Hubbards vets in Caernarfon. The vets in Hubbards were very nice, so to compensate they employed Bethan the Fat Spotty Cow on reception, who took a leaf out of Peter Jones’s book. Long-standing customer who always paid bills on time? Ill or injured pet in pain in an emergency? Fuck off. In the case of the Fat Spotty Cow, I was told that it was definitely personal to Enemies Of The Paedophiles, including me. I used to have five dogs and for a long time the nearest vets to my place was Hubbards. I gave up with Hubbards when for the third time that I took in an ill or dying dog the Fat Spotty Cow screamed at me in front of the whole waiting room that what with it being me, That Dog Will Not Be Treated Until You’ve Paid. I challenged the Fat Spotty Cow on each occasion, pointing out that I had never not paid, so what exactly was the point of the Public Warning? Each time the Fat Spotty Cow very quietly admitted that yes I had always paid and of course the vets would treat my dog. The last straw came when my dog with cancer was on painkillers to make things easier for him for his last two weeks before I and the vet had agreed that he’d be put down and as I went to pick up the tablets – which the vet had OK’d an hour previously – the Fat Spotty Cow placed them high on a shelf behind her with the 100 decibel Public Warning ‘Not Until They’ve Been Paid For In Advance’. At that point Hubbards lost my custom. I never understood why they didn’t just sack Bethan the Fat Spotty Cow on the spot, she must have cost them a fortune in lost custom. But then Mrs Hubbard the Senior Vet was a close friend of Dr Lynda Dykes, the A&E Top Doc in Ysbyty Gwynedd; they would go riding together through my village…
The A&E in which Angels regularly threatened me and other Empowered Service Users and refused point blank to treat us.

In the face of the Psychopathic Vets, Empowered Service Users were very grateful when a wonderful vet was discovered in Llanfairfechan, Dr Katz. Word got round that Dr Katz was a really nice man and for the Empowered Service Users who couldn’t afford bills, he trusted them enough to wait until they’d saved up or he would let them pay by instalments. Dr Katz soon found himself in great demand. I think that his wife taught at St Gerard’s School in Bangor. One day Dr Katz was gone. I was told by someone a few years later that he had been faced with a shameful hate campaign and his life had been made so unbearable that he had left north Wales. This person thought that it was racism, Dr Katz being Polish. Another source told me that it was our old friends Dafydd’s gang. It had been discovered that Dr Katz had broken the Mafia Code and had been treating the pets of the Enemies Of The Paedophiles for which Dr Katz paid dearly.
Dr Katz would have been particularly vulnerable in Llanfairfechan, it is a stronghold of Paedophiles’ Friends. Bryn-y-Neuadd Hospital was in Llanfairfechan, which was for years the hospital for the ‘mentally handicapped’ where Dafydd and Dr Michael Craft carried out their ‘research’ into ‘incestuous families’ while Ann Craft helped the patients Explore Their Sexual Needs and Supported Them In Their Sexual Relationships (see post ‘The Old Devils’). At the same time, the senior managers of Bryn-y-Neuadd referred to those Exploring Their Sexual Needs with Ann as ‘vegetables’ and ‘cabbages’. Perhaps it was events at Bryn-y-Neuadd which led to Esther Rantzen of ChildLine and Mental Health Campaigning Fame taking such an interest in root vegetables shaped like genitalia.
Ann Craft ended up with a senior academic post at Nottingham University and was a leading light in the charidee world.
Dafydd and Lucille’s mate Cledwyn Williams Led the Services for the Mentally Handicapped when they Explored Their Sexual Needs with Ann:
Cledwyn Williams
From 1983 to 1996 Cledwyn was Assistant Director of Social Services, responsible for mentally handicapped services and for the all-Wales strategy for people with learning disabilities. He was responsible for developing services for people with learning disabilities for the education, health & social services group. After this, he became Director of Social Services for Conwy. Cledwyn is now Vice-Chair of Dafydd’s charidee, CAIS.
Don’t worry world; children, the mentally ill and learning disabled, they were all preyed upon by the trafficking gang. Everybody knew it, including the Top Doctors, Angels, Social Services, North Wales Police, Magistrates, Lawyers, Judges etc, but if you’re a vet who treats the animals of someone who’s complained about it all, you’ll be run out of town.
The Angels of Bryn-y-Neuadd – and some of the Angels of Dafydd’s Denbigh Dungeon – used to insist on being called ‘Mr’, at least by the vegetables who could talk. The unqualified or at best semi-qualified thugs were called Mr by the people whom they battered and sexually assaulted. Everyone knew that this was happening.
Ah The Doctors And Nurses They were Wonderful!
  • Folkestone: That's life presenter and charity campaigner ...

One of the Angels from Bryn-y-Neuadd ended up as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Healthcare Sciences at Bangor University. He told one of the receptionists not to let me into the building because I was a dangerous loony who attacked people with knives. It certainly baffled her because as far as she was concerned I was someone’s PhD supervisor.

Two Angels from Dafydd’s Denbigh Dungeon also became Academics in the School of Healthcare Sciences. One was Ruhi Behi, ‘Mr Behi’ – he thought that he still worked at Denbigh – who ended up as Head of the School and the other is now grand-sounding Dr Seren Roberts:
Seren Roberts small
‘I am a registered mental health nurse and health services researcher. Following clinical nurse training, I studied psychology to PhD and later studied for a Masters in Public Health and Health Promotion at Bangor University. I am a Lecturer in Mental Health in the School of Healthcare Sciences, Bangor University, and have honorary research roles within the School of Medicine in Swansea University and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. My role includes working closely with two research networks across Wales; Mental Health Research Network Cymru (MHRNC) and Wales Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network (NEURODEM Cymru). I have a broad interest in mental health research with active involvement with several research projects, often as chief or principal investigator. To date my research activity has largely focused on two main themes; treatment for depression and physical health of people on antipsychotic medication. I am a Principal Investigator for a large NIHR HTA funded multicentre trial of antidepressant treatment, I convene a Wales-wide research development group (ATHRAM), funded by MHRNC which aims to generate research ideas and proposals on the physical health of people taking antipsychotic medication. I am actively involved with and sit on a range of local and national committees including the Wales Mental Health in Primary Care Network.’
Slob Ingham, the drunken thug of the Arfon Community Mental Health Team who’s favourite ‘client’ dealt in drugs in the Royal Oak in Rachub – ‘anything, I can get you anything you want’ – lived in Llanfairfechan as did the harridan of a Top Doctor Marie Savage.
After Bryn-y-Neuadd was emptied of vegetables exploring their sexual needs in the 1990s, it served for a time as the administrative HQ of the Gwynedd Community Health Trust. The corrupt manager Alun Davies had his office there, along with his equally corrupt side-kick Sandra Phillips. It was a convenient arrangement, because most of the Empowered Service Users didn’t drive and it was very difficult for most of Gwynedd to get to Llanfairfechan on the bus, so Davies and Phillips setting up shop there certainly cut down the options for complaining about the ‘service’. Some of the Empowered lived some forty miles away from the Complaints Office and it was a two day bus journey to get there as a result of the bus timetables. But then there were patients on the north of Anglesey who also faced a two day bus journey to get to Ysbyty Gwynedd for a twenty minute appointment.
Thank God Professor Mark Williams organised all those three day Mindfulness retreats for the mental health staff down in that nice Trigonos centre, by the lake in Nantlle. Duw It’s Hard.
‘Retreat at Trigonos, Snowdonia’

‘I’ve just spent a restorative week on retreat at the Trigonos centre in Nantlle, North Wales. The natural scenery and wildlife were stunning. For me, the highlight was an early morning practice on the lakeside as the sun rose from behind Snowdon. The mountain (in the centre of the picture)2016-04-09 19.05.13 was a constant presence during the retreat. I had the luxury of time to notice how, from minute to minute, the landscape was subtly or sometimes dramatically transformed by the ever-changing light and weather.

The retreat was organised by the Mindfulness Network CIC especially for mindfulness teachers. I’m grateful for the support and guidance of the highly skilled facilitators, Trish, Bartley and Elaine Young. I learned so much from the experience and I’m incorporating these insights and approaches into my own practice and teaching.’

I always wondered if the mental health staff claimed for aromatherapy massages on expenses or those foot spa things that are coloured pink and swirl people’s feet with hot water. Or they could have gone on an away day to Chester, where there was one of those establishments where people had their feet nibbled by fish.
Here’s Mark, all spiritual and living in the moment:

Mark Williams

Mark Williams set up a collaborative project with Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore, who like Robin Weiss, works at UCL. Dafydd’s gang has links going back years with UCL. Professor Pauline Horne, Fungus Lowe’s side-kick in the School of Psychology at Bangor was in a previous life an MSc student at UCL (see post ‘Feet In Chains’) and in the 1990s, Dr Tony Francis referred a patient of his to an endocrinologist at UCL for ‘specialist help’. I heard a lot about this endocrinologist and she sounded quite bonkers. She also very obviously made the condition of the Hergest patient much worse.
Another part of Bryn-y-Neuadd was developed into Ty Llewellyn, a medium secure psychiatric unit. It still contains some of those who were fitted up by Dafydd and the gang nearly thirty years ago, including a man who when he was 15 yrs old was sentenced for the ‘unprovoked murder’ of the vicar of Llanberis. The official story is that the vicar was a kindly man who spent his time helping local boys and that this psycho repaid him by murdering him with intent to rob. The boy’s story has always been that the vicar tried to sexually assault him and that he did not mean to kill him but was fighting him off. I didn’t know either the vicar or the boy, but when I asked a local person about the case years later, the first thing that I was told was ‘oh that vicar was a paedophile’.
Who could ever tell where the truth lay.

Someone who became a Champion of CR UK and promoted its work after her own life was touched by cancer was the agony aunt Claire Rayner, who began advertising the wonders of these research fraudsters in 2002. I don’t know whether Claire Rayner knew of the details of the frauds with which CR UK had been involved, although of the many celeb supporters of CR UK, Claire would be in a better position than most to acquire knowledge of and see through the scams.

Rayner was from a London Jewish family and was educated at the City of London School for Girls. In 2003, Rayner discussed a childhood of physical cruelty and sexual abuse at the hands of her parents. Her family emigrated to Canada and following that, in 1945, Claire was placed in a psychiatric hospital by her parents. Claire Rayner received much credit for Speaking Out and she was frank that she had endured a very hard time. Claire Spoke Out after quite a few other people had begun Speaking Out, but before the en masse Speaking Out.

All I could think was why hadn’t Claire Spoken Out about a few other things? When I began working in biomedical research in the late 1980s, Claire had long since established her reputation as an agony aunt and an expert on matters Angels and the NHS and would be invited onto ‘serious’ TV programmes as well as lighthearted quiz shows. On one occasion I was watching a lighthearted show starring Claire in which the guests had the chance of Living Out Their Dearest Fantasy. One old lech stated that he wanted to be given a bed bath by ‘three dolly nurses’. Everyone in the studio was bowled over by this Carry On notion and there were many Babs Windsor-esque jokes; to Claire’s credit she did make a comment to the effect that nurses are ‘not there for that’. But that was the only comment that she did make. The old lech was duly prepared for his bed bath on screen and then three butch male Angels arrived on stage. We pissed ourselves laughing in our house because we presumed that was the punchline. It wasn’t. After all the grimacing and mock horror, the male Angels left the stage and three absolute Barbara Windsors were paraded on, complete with ludicrous hats, mini-dresses and suspenders and gave the old lech his bed bath.

Claire joined in the fun and there were no more comments about Angels’ roles in real hospitals.

I don’t want to come over all Milli Tant here, but there was – and is – quite a serious problem with Angels being sexually harassed at work. This blog has documented cases of Angels running prostitution rackets in hospitals and shagging their way up the promotion ladder like there’s no tomorrow, but I have also been friends with Angels who have told me that because there is so much of that going on, life for Angels who are not involved can be very difficult. One Angel went as far as to tell me ‘sometimes I can understand why nurses are seen as such slags because many are and it means the rest of us aren’t taken seriously at work’. The same Angel made some very insightful comments about gender roles and gender stereotyping in the healthcare and why such a toxic situation had arisen. These matters were being discussed by Angels at the time yet Claire Rayner, while pretending to be the sort of Thinking Angel who took an interest in such debates, would join in the fuckwittery with only a quick passing comment.

There was so much that Claire Rayner could have discussed eg. the organised sexual abuse of children and vulnerable patients, the dreadful workplace bullying in the NHS, research fraud and dangerous practice, the culture of simply lying when harm to patients had occurred, the cronyism and nepotism that underpins the whole system. Claire could also have blown the whistle on Jimmy Savile because she bloody well knew about him and I think that she knew about Dafydd and the associated gangs as well.

Not a word.

Rayner did know. She trained as an Angel in the UK in the 1950s at the Royal Northern Hospital and then Guy’s in London. In 1957 Rayner married her husband, the actor Desmond Rayner. She continued nursing in London and worked as a midwife and nursing sister. Rayner knew all about the matters of which I have provided details on this blog. She personally knew some of those who provided a lifelong umbrella for Dafydd. Like everybody else, she kept quiet because Claire wanted to make it big as a Sensible Nurse and she wasn’t going to do that by being honest about the crime and corruption. So it was debates over natural vs caesarean births – but only when that became widely discussed – for Claire and similarly non-controversial but topical subjects.

So how did Claire begin her journo/writing career? By a letter to ‘Nursing Times’ in 1958, on nurses’ pay and conditions. She then began regularly writing to The Torygraph on themes of patient care or nurses’ pay. She began writing novels soon after her marriage and by 1968 had published more than 25 books.

Nurses in the 1950s saw some shocking behaviour on the part of healthcare staff. Rayner didn’t mention the worst excesses.

After the birth of her first child in 1960 Rayner focused on a full-time writing career. Initially writing articles for various magazines and publications, in 1968 she published one of the earliest sex manuals, People in Love, which brought her to national attention. Describing the “explicit content”, the same reviewer commended Rayner on her “down-to-earth approach to the subject”.

But Claire did not write about the organised abuse rings which were then a feature of the welfare system and were concealed by the Top Docs, particularly psychiatrists.

By the 1970s, writing for ‘Woman’s Own’, Rayner had established herself as one of four new and direct “agony aunts”. Her advice in the teenaged girls’ magazine ‘Petticoat’ caused controversy. In 1972 she was accused of “encouraging masturbation and promiscuity in prepubescent girls”. I never read ‘Petticoat’, so whether Rayner did encourage such things I do not know. Although I’d have thought that masturbation was harmless enough and not anyone else’s business.

Rayner’s direct and frank approach led the BBC to ask her to be the first person on British pre-watershed television to demonstrate how to put on a condom and she was one of the first people used by advertisers to promote sanitary towels. I remember it well, it caused my friends and I much entertainment and was also the beginning of Brown’s analysis of the medicalisation of sanitary protection: ‘Dr Whites’, ‘Lil-lets were designed by a doctor’ etc. Lil-lets were probably designed by a greedy old sod who saw a market. As did Claire Rayner.

The BBC’s sex education/Dr Whites’ expert did not mention the elephant /paedophile in the studio/dressing room/caravan at the time:

Jimmy Savile abuse scandal: judge-led inquiry would be ...

After beginning to appear on Pebble Mill at One in 1972, Rayner started an agony column in ‘The Sun’ in 1973, but left to join the ‘Sunday Mirror’ in 1980, when she also made her second television series of Claire Rayner’s Casebook. She left the Sunday Mirror shortly after the appointment of Eve Pollard as Editor – did Claire fall out with that particular Glenda? – and joined the ‘Today’ newspaper for three years. Rayner was named medical journalist of the year in 1987.

1987. Peak Dafydd and Savile! Mary Wynch had won the first part of her case and Alison Taylor and I wouldn’t shut up… Savile was also in the process of becoming the General Manager of Broadmoor at that time (see previous posts).

Rayner was probably best known as an agony aunt on TV-am in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She made it her personal aim to reply to every letter she received. This was an unfunded project by the station. So Claire will have been one of the agony aunts of that generation who later admitted receiving letters from the victims of sexual assault who’s letters were never mentioned because the names of some well-known people had been given in some of those letters. By the time that Claire was on TV-am, I had written to Esther about Dafydd et al. Esther did not reply. Esther received at least one letter about Savile which was ignored.

Rayner became President of the Patients Association – which was dominated by Top Doctors rather than patients who were not Top Docs as well – and through her extensive charidee work and writings was awarded an OBE in 1996 for services to wimmin’s health and wellbeing and to health matters. Well that was a nice gift in the year that William Hague announced that the Waterhouse Inquiry would be held.

Rayner had a very personal reason for supporting Sense’s Older Person campaign, wearing hearing aids in both ears and also having AMD, a sight loss condition common in older people.

Between 1993 and 2002, Rayner was one of the Patrons of the Herpes Viruses Association and Chaired a Press Briefing in June 1993 aimed at destigmatising genital herpes. When tendering her resignation, Rayner cited the fact that she was Patron of 60 organisations as the reason for trimming the list. I knew a man in Bethesda at that time with herpes. He was so Destigmatising about it that he gave it to quite a few other people, including I suspect those who attended the sex parties along with him in Chester. This man was bisexual but he was very condemning of those who had sex with children; however he was having sex with rent boys and at least one former patient of Dafydd’s and I don’t think that it would ever have occurred to him to ask himself why they were having sex with the likes of him for money…

Rayner was appointed to various UK Gov’t committees on health and was the author of a chapter in The Future of the NHSDespite being President of the Patients Association, Rayner used private health care. She wasn’t going to risk her own neck was she. She was a member of the PM’s Commission on Nursing and the Labour Gov’ts Royal Commission on the Care of the Elderly. In 1999 Rayner was appointed to a committee responsible for reviewing the medical conditions at Holloway Prison, at the direction of Paul Boateng, who was then the Minister for Prisons. The recommendations of this committee ‘led to far reaching changes in the provision of medical care within Holloway.’

Holloway was notorious for housing numerous women who were so severely mentally ill that the other prisoners identified them as being ‘muppets’. The muppets also had a terrifyingly high rate of self-harm and suicide. Most of those muppets had been abused as children in care or in the psychiatric system. The plight of the muppets did eventually receive widespread media coverage and everyone felt a warm glow around their hearts when the muppets were transferred to long-stay secure mental hospitals. Back into the arms of those who had turned them into muppets in the first place…

Paul Boateng would have known a lot about the muppets. Boateng’s wife Janet was a Lambeth social worker and was Chair of Lambeth Social Services when Tyra Henry was murdered in the care of Lambeth in the 1980s. Lambeth had a massive problem with a paedophile ring which had infiltrated its children’s homes and that ring was linked to Dafydd’s gang in north Wales. Children in care from Lambeth were sent to children’s homes in north Wales. Esther Rantzen’s sister Priscilla was a social worker for Lambeth and Priscilla’s boss Valerie – now Baroness – Howarth was appointed Chief Exec of ChildLine. Before Paul Boateng was an MP, he was a lawyer working for Birnberg & Co. Who when Boateng worked for Birnberg, acted for Mary Wynch when she sued Dafydd et al. See previous posts.

No wonder Paul Boateng put a safe pair of Savile-friendly hands like Claire Rayner on that Holloway committee.

Rayner was a lifelong Labour Party supporter until 2001, when Rayner resigned from the Labour Party and joined the Lib Dems for fear of the changes to the NHS proposed by Miranda. Claire was a prominent supporter of the British republican movement, although admitted her dual standards on accepting her OBE in 1996. Dame Helen Mirren succumbed as well, but her excuse for accepting after a lifetime of saying that she never would was ‘that it was for her parents’. Who I think were dead by then.

Lilibet: It’s OK, you don’t have to worry. When my gong arrives, I really will send it back to you. Thanks for the thought anyway!

Rayner was Vice-President (and formerly President) of the British Humanist Association, a Distinguished Supporter of the Humanist Society Scotland and an Honorary Associate of the National Secular Society. In the weeks leading up to her death, Rayner had the following to say about Pope Benedict’s XVI’s state visit to the United Kingdom:

Pots and Kettles Auntie Claire. Furthermore, Savile met Popes and picked up gongs from the Catholic Church.

Rayner, whilst a Patron of the Down’s Syndrome Association, had her position promptly terminated after labelling parents as “selfish” for having a disabled child:

We can’t waste valuable NHS resources on useless eaters like that.

  • Arbeit macht Frei | Scrapbookpages Blog
  • North Wales Hospital, Denbigh - County Asylums

Rayner and her husband had three children together: writer and food critic Jay Rayner; electronics reviewer, angling and motoring journalist Adam Rayner and events manager Amanda Rayner.

Thank God none of them are disabled and they are therefore able to labour for their food and contribute usefully to society by writing about the sort of food that a lot of people cannot afford, expensive hobbies and by managing Events. Claire was no doubt proud of them.

Claire suffered from Grave’s disease.

Anyone for euthanasia, post-Credit Crunch?

Rayner never recovered from the emergency intestinal surgery that she received in May 2010 and died in hospital on 11 October 2010. She told her relatives she wanted her last words to be: “Tell David Cameron that if he screws up my beloved NHS I’ll come back and bloody haunt him.”

Ah, Claire she was wonderful! Along with the doctors.

Claire Rayner was a prolific author of fiction and her output was nearly as impressive as that of Barbara Cartland. Some of her titles were:

  • Soho Square (1976)
  • Flapper (1988)
  • Blitz (19
  • First Blood (1993)
  • Second Opinion (1994)
  • London Lodgings (1994)
  • Paying Guests (1995)
  • Lady Mislaid (1968)
  • Death on the Table (1969)
  • The Meddlers (1970)
  • The Running Years (1981)
  • The Enduring Years (1982)
  • The Virus Man (1985)
  • Children’s Ward, the Lonely One, Private Wing (1988)
  • Dangerous Things (1993)
  • The Final Year (1993)
  • The Doctors of Downlands (1994)

  • The Private Wing (1996)
  • The Legacy (1997)
  • The Inheritance (1998)
  • The Murdering Old Psychiatrist (unfinished)

Among Claire’s ‘non-fiction’ titles is a volume called ‘What Happens In A Hospital’, although I suspect that should probably have been listed under ‘fiction’.

The self-promotion in relation to the Welsh Labour leadership campaign continues. Mark Drakeford was ‘delighted’ to receive the support of UNISON, which in the light of Drakeford’s Health and Social Services policy simply consisting of asking the NHS how much money they would like and how often followed by an assurance that there will be no action taken against anyone no matter how great the scandal/wrongdoing/disaster, was nor surprising.

I was sent an article from the ‘Western Mail’ in which the Baroness of Ely styled herself ‘A Socialist For The Digital Age’ and most entertainingly stressed that she is worthy of being FM because she is ‘not an insider’. Full details of the Baroness’s biography and doings can be read in previous posts, but here’s a very brief resume:

The Baroness’s dad was the Rev Bob Morgan, who was Labour leader of South Glamorgan County Council. The Rev Bob was mates with all the Labour big wigs and movers and shakers and was also involved in charidee work with the molester George Thomas, aka Viscount Tonypandy, a long-serving south wales Labour MP and one-time Speaker of the House. The Baroness knew many of these big wigs at a young age and joined the Labour Party when she was barely out of nappies. The Baroness became actively involved in Labour Party politics in her teens and is a friend of the Windbags. When the Baroness was elected as the MEP for mid and west Wales in 1994, she was the youngest MEP to take her seat. I have found out that a few people in the Labour Party in Wales were not too happy with the way in which the Baroness obtained the nomination for that seat. The Baroness served on the Welsh Labour Party Executive for 10 years and was a founding member of the Yes for Wales Cross party group which campaigned for the Welsh Assembly to be established. So the Baroness knows Ron ‘I was looking for badgers’ Davies, former Secretary of State for Wales, very well indeed. As well as everybody else in the Labour party in Wales, in Westminster and in the Lords. What with not being an insider.

In 2003, there was a big row and accusations of cronyism when the Windbag’s former long-serving SPAD Jan Royall was appointed as Head of the European Union’s office in Wales  at a salary of nearly £90k pa. The job was not advertised externally and there were complaints from the Tories, Plaid and politicians from European parties. Hans-Gert Poettering, leader of the European Christian Democrat and Conservative group, raised the matter with Romano Prodi, the then President of the EU Commission, on the grounds that the move was “an inappropriate political appointment.”. The Vice-President of the European Commission at the time was the Windbag, who stated that:

“I was not involved in the appointment in any way since such procedures and posts are not in my portfolio. I understand that there were other applicants for the post and, in accordance with all the proper rules, Jan Royall was appointed on merit.”

Among the melee, there was one person who defended Royall’s appointment: one Eluned Morgan, now the Baroness of Ely. The Baroness said that Royall ‘had been appointed on merit and maintained that an individual’s affiliation to a political party should not be a reason for excluding them from applying for jobs.’

The two main opposition parties in the Assembly, however, were concerned that Ms Royall’s high profile connections with leading Labour politicians, including the Windbags, would be a barrier to impartiality in the job.

They were particularly concerned that it would be a factor in the run up to the following year’s European elections and repeated their demand that Ms Royall should step down immediately.

Ms Royall, who was expected to represent the EU in Wales and Wales in Brussels, refused to respond to the demands for her resignation and turned down all requests for interviews.

Where is Jan Royall now? She’s in the Lords of course, along with both Windbags and the Baroness of Ely. Jan was Secretary General of the British Labour Group in the European Parliament (1979-1985) and Policy Adviser/Personal Assistant to the Windbag as Leader of the Opposition. Jan became a member of the latter’s Cabinet when he was European Commissioner for Transport (1995-1999) and Vice President of the Commission (1999-2002). Jan was then responsible for the Commission’s relationship with the European Parliament before becoming Head of the European Commission Office in Wales (2003-2004). Jan joined the Lords in 2004 and became a member of the Privy Council in 2008. Having served a Government Whip and Government Spokesperson for Health, International Development and Foreign and Commonwealth Office (2005-2008), she became Government Chief Whip in the Lords in 2008.  Jan entered the Cabinet in 2008 as Leader of the Lords (2008-2010) and held the titles of Lord President of the Council (2008-2009) and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (2009-2010). She was elected as Leader of the Opposition in the Lords in May 2010 and became a member Ed Miliband’s Shadow Cabinet at the same time.

So Jan Royall was Lord President of the Council, 2008-09 and therefore the visitor to Bangor University during that time. Er, would you know anything about the havoc prevailing at Bangor University then Jan, with that massive effort by the paedophiles’ friends to overthrow the Vice-Chancellor via highly questionable means, including that plan to fit him up for a criminal offence? A plan which was largely orchestrated by one Prof Fergus Lowe, who was as nasty as the other paedophiles’ friends but not so thick and he didn’t knock off at 3-30 pm either as was the habit of so many, so Fungus was rather more capable than most of them. See previous posts…

Here’s Tony Francis’s friend, delighted that another one of his cronies has bagged a senior position, while Romano Prodi elbows him out of the way:

The ‘Western Mail’ also published the Baroness’s economic policy for Wales. It can be summed up by ‘er, um, er, well, I would increase employment and encourage growth sort of, er, I think’.

How the Baroness will increase employment and encourage growth when all she has ever known is that well-known model of business among Wimmin who tick all the right boxes in the Welsh Labour Party which consists of ‘applying for a pot of money’ she did not explain.

Readers in England who don’t believe me, you have missed out. It was hilarious, wherever you went throughout the 1980s and 90s in Wales there would be a Woman who was Empowering Someone who would explain that they would be applying for a pot of money, which would fund the Co-ordinator and the Support Workers for This Project. Not only would the jobs never be advertised, but when the pot of money was being applied for, there would be an open discussion among the Wimmin with reference to the named Wimmin who’s jobs the pot of money would be funding.

When I finished my PhD, I really thought that I had waved good-bye to the world in which everyone was in hot pursuit of a pot of money. So imagine my surprise when I finally bagged a post-doc job and word got around that I was quite keen on community-things and I began receiving phone calls from Wimmin (who had previously refused to come near me what with me having Complained About The Paedophiles’ Friends) asking me if I had a pot of money that they could apply for. It was funny, but I did draw the conclusion of ‘Christ no wonder we’re all in such a mess’. I even received requests for a pot of money when I was between contracts working for no pay myself. I was friends with a PhD student who knew what was going on and had an excellent sense of the ridiculous, who would also be rolling around with laughter at the notion of the pot of money.

One day a social worker became very angry with me because I did not have access to a pot of money with which to give £300 each to a number of Service User Representatives to enable them to attend a Service Users’ Conference. I explained to the Service User Representatives – who had been told by the social worker that of course there would be a pot of money – that no, I had bugger all money myself, I wasn’t even getting a salary for my work at that time. They snapped at me ‘we really cannot believe that’. My PhD student friend with the sense of humour – who was living in’t shoe box in’t middle of t’road himself – commented that the VC was obviously sitting upstairs in his office lighting his cigars with the £50 notes which had been earmarked for the proverbial pot of money…

Someone should have taken a leaf out of the rocker Bill Drummond’s book and set fire to one million. Jane Hutt would be horrified, that would keep Chwarae Teg going for at least three months.

The Baroness raised concerns about the sexist behaviour of one in possession of testicles the other day, namely Sir Roderick Evans. The crime for which the Baroness was castigating Roderick Evans was but very trivial, certainly in comparison to the rest of Sir Roderick’s life’s work, but the Baroness failed to comment on that.

Sir Roderick Evans, or the Honourable Mr Justice Roderick Evans to use his legal title, was called to the Bar in 1970 and was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1989. He became a circuit judge in 1992, serving as resident judge for the Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court from 1994 to 1998 and as resident judge for Swansea Crown Court from 1998 to 1999. In 1999 he was appointed a Senior Circuit Judge and Honorary Recorder of Cardiff. Sir Roderick was appointed a High Court Judge of the Queen’s Bench Division in 2001 and between 2004 and 2007 he was Presiding Judge for Wales. He retired from the High Court in April 2013.

Sir Roderick joined Dafydd’s mates as a member of the Gorsedd of Bards in 2002 and since 2011 he has served as a member of the Parole Board. Bluglass and Colin Berry served on the Parole Board. Sir Roderick holds Honorary Fellowships and Awards from Aberystwyth (2003), Swansea (2007) and Bangor (2010) Universities. In 2015, he was elected a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales.

Sir Roderick Evans is Pro-Chancellor of Swansea University Council and is also a member of the Swansea University Court.

So not only has Sir Roderick worked with the maggots who have crawled all over the criminal justice system in Wales for the last four decades while they concealed a network of organised abuse and associated serious crime, but he was Presiding Judge for Wales when Judge Huw Daniel broke the law in court re my own case in 2004 and when that certificate of indictment was forged stating that I had pleaded guilty to a charge of violent disorder at Caernarfon Crown Court when I had not even been charged with such an offence. Ever.

In 2004 Rhodri Morgan was FM. Who’s friends and family run Swansea University.

Sir Roderick: Do you remember that case in the late 1990s in which Dafydd got a rapist off of a prison sentence by giving evidence that the rapist had PTSD? I think that it was at Swansea Crown Court. Your Court Sir Roderick! The rapist was later revealed to have a string of convictions and he assaulted the TV journos on camera after the case. The rapist worked as a solicitor. He left the court as a pillion passenger on his mate’s motorbike without wearing a crash helmet.

Since March 2016 Sir Roderick Evans has been Standards Commissioner for the National Assembly of Wales. The Standards Commissioner is an independent person appointed by the National Assembly for Wales, to safeguard standards, to uphold reputations, and to address the public’s concerns about the collection of ex-social workers and Councillors who ignored a vicious paedophile ring for many years.

Meet the Commissioner Sir Roderick Evans:

The Baroness’s biggest problem with him? That’s Sir Roderick didn’t find much wrong with a You Tube clip made by UKIP’s Gareth Bennett about Labour’s Joyce Watson ‘which featured Ms Watson’s face superimposed on a woman in a low-cut top’.

In the last few weeks, Simon Thomas, who was until very recently a Plaid AM and before that a Plaid MP, was found guilty of producing indecent images of children and is currently awaiting sentence. The adult son of the Baroness’s colleague and Labour leadership rival Mark Drakeford – Drakeford is a former social worker and Councillor – was jailed for eight years for the violent, prolonged ‘punishment’ rape of a young woman. He also groomed an underaged girl online.

Sir Roderick is investigating a spoof You Tube clip and the Baroness actually thought that it was worth her while bothering to comment about it.

The Baroness’s husband is a GP in south Wales. There is currently an investigation underway into the deaths of 26 babies in the care of Cwm Taf Health Board. I had heard that the maternity care in that Heath Board was dangerous six years ago. Did the Baroness’s husband know about this as well?

Here’s another one for the Senedd and the Baroness’s husband. In the late 1990s, one of the UK’s Experts in ‘Control and Restraint’ in Mental Health nursing was one Mike Williams. He was paid a lot of money to go all over the country sharing his expertise. Mike Williams worked as an Angel in the North Wales Hospital Denbigh for decades. He was the charge nurse in Bryn Golau Ward when I was illegally imprisoned there in 1986/87. Mike witnessed Dafydd turning up at gone midnight to ‘visit’ me, when I was in bed. Mike knew that I had been unlawfully arrested and imprisoned. He did not let me out. Mike was told by another Angel to put me in the Dungeon but he realised that I had a brain and he was treading carefully.

Mike had worked at the North Wales Hospital since the mid-1960s. He knew about the lobotomies, the abducted babies, the disappeared, the forged documentation, the trafficking gang and of course that dungeon. Mike knows about the murder of Stephen Bagnall as well (see post ‘Hey, Hey DAJ, How Many Kids Did You Kill Today?’).

One of the UK’s ‘experts’. It wasn’t a coincidence. Everyone who had the gen on that trafficking gang flourished. They are also the people who are Upholding The Standards.

BMA Calling, BMA Calling

The ‘Morning Star’ is looking forward to the 70th anniversary of the NHS – it’s on 30 June. I knew that it was approaching, because the Sunday Service on Radio 4 yesterday was dedicated to dear old Nye’s vision and whoever it was who was leading the service mentioned the 70th anniversary. The service came from Bart’s, which was of course where Dafydd’s mate Prof Linford Rees worked. Linford’s endearing habit of showing the medical students photos of his female patients in the bath was not mentioned (see post ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’). There was an admission that the Top Doctors themselves opposed the NHS but no-one mentioned that the way that Nye succeeded in his ‘negotiations’ with the BMA was to ‘stuff their mouths with gold’.

  • Budget 2012: Harry Enfield should bring back Bugger-All ...

It was mentioned during the Sunday Service that Bart’s ‘served’ the people of the immediate area, including a severely disadvantaged cohort who lived near much wealthier Bloomsbury. Er – yes, that was the problem in a nutshell. Some very poor people lived very near some much richer people, some of whom liked having sex with much younger people, who might well have not wanted to have sex with them. Enter Dafydd’s mate Linford! And of course Dafydd himself, who was running his sex-trafficking organisation in the region where some of the Bloomsbury set had their holiday homes and weekend retreats (see post ‘The Village’). No wonder brave Sir Robin ran away.

I previously blogged about the way in which the NHS celebrated its 60th anniversary – by Stephen Gallagher, an Angel at Ysbyty Gwynedd, refusing to treat me, threatening me and then threatening two members of the public who challenged him after witnessing his appalling conduct. Gallagher was assisted by his mate, Angel Andrew Parry. See post ‘Two Dangerous Very Dishonest Nurses’ for details.

The ‘Morning Star’ also approvingly reports the comments of Jon Ashworth, the Labour Party Health Spokesman. Ashworth believes that patients’ lives are being put at risk by ‘out of date’ NHS equipment. No Jon, they aren’t. It is not the machines that go ping which are the problem. It is staff lying, forging documents, refusing to do their jobs and covering up for their colleagues who are also doing this. There is a problem with staff sometimes not being able to use the machines that go ping or the machines that go ping not working and the staff not admitting it and bluffing.

In 1999 my friend’s baby died shortly after birth at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. The baby had been in distress during the labour but the midwife had not interpreted the trace from the foetal heart monitor correctly – my friend should have been given an emergency caesarian. Musgrove Park were not able to explain why the midwife had not realised what was happening. My friend consulted an obstetrician who was a family friend who told her that her baby had undoubtedly died as a result of this but there was no point suing because he knew that the staff all intended to lie in court. This was the friend who wanted to make a documentary about what happened to me in north Wales and who was forced out of her job at the Royal Television Society as a result. The consultant who ‘cared for her’ during the delivery which resulted in a dead baby after a healthy pregnancy was Robert Fox.

Step forward Robert Fox and tell us all if you know/knew any Top Doctors who worked in the Obs and Gynae Dept at St George’s Hospital Medical School who were concealing a sex-trafficking ring between south London and north Wales. Geoffrey Chamberlain perhaps? Malcolm Pearce?

Documents in my possession show that Jackie Ehlen, an Angel who worked in the mental health services who had lied about the death of a patient some years previously and who was concealing the wrongdoing of Dafydd et al, made a note on my medical records of the death of my friend’s baby. So Jackie, why were the colleagues of those who were running a paedophile gang between north Wales and London even interested in my friend and her baby?

As for machines that go ping not working, well I was connected to one in the late 1980s in Ysbyty Gwynedd. It was supposed to be monitoring my heart but it didn’t work. I watched the junior doctor – a young Cardiff graduate – BEG for help from the Angels, as every one of them turned their backs on her and refused to even speak to her. She was quaking in her boots, didn’t realise that I had worked out what was going on and returned to hook me up to a machine that didn’t work. It was dutifully recorded on my notes that my heart was being monitored. It wasn’t. After a hour of this farce, I got up, took the jump leads off my chest and had a wander around. It was recorded that I had disconnected myself from the monitor and ‘wasn’t compliant with treatment’. If I had pegged out, my death would have been attributed to that.

Nicola Sturgeon has given NHS staff in Scotland a pay rise. That’s right Nicola, stuff those negligent, criminal mouths with gold because they are such a big problem that no politician has the stomach to take them on.

The Top Docs want a 70th anniversary celebration? I’ll prepare the ground for them, because clearly this blog so far has not been sufficient to persuade them to shut their greedy, demanding mouths and fess up re Dafydd and the sex trafficking ring. I’ll name more offenders and accessories.

St George’s Hospital Medical School, 1989-91: There was a researcher called Charlotte Baris in Dr Cathy Wilson’s lab. Charlotte Baris was treated as badly as everyone else was. Mandy Leigh was the only member of staff who wasn’t roundly abused and insulted on an hourly basis, but that’s because Leigh’s family were Posh. I don’t know who they were, but Wilson thought that it was worth knowing them. Mandy would sit in the tea room puffing on fags, dropping the names of the various aristocrats whom she had partied with the previous night. Sadly I can’t remember who they were. I’m such a pleb that I just found this upper-class poisonous bitch drawling on about the Marquess of somewhere or other rude and boring so I didn’t take notes, although I should have. Leigh was pursuing a high profile actor at the time – it was either Hugh Grant or Kenneth Branagh, I get them confused. She was also friends with the offspring of the ‘Born Free’ actress, Virginia McKenna, who berated Mandy for her possession of ivory. McKenna was establishing the Born Free Foundation when I had the misfortune of being routinely insulted by Mandy at work. Never mind the dead elephants tusks, Mandy Leigh was building her career by ingratiating herself to a bunch of Top Docs running a paedophile gang.

Charlotte Baris arrived to work in our lab shortly after I began working there, but was bullied so badly by Mandy Leigh that she soon began applying for other jobs. Sadly she used the usual strategy of toadying to Cathy Wilson rather than making it clear just how unacceptable their behaviour was. Shortly after Charlotte joined the team, Wilson asked me if Charlotte could rent the spare room in the house that I shared with Andrew and Di Aldridge  (Andrew was a junior surgeon at St George’s, he is mentioned on one of the comments which follow my post ‘The Village’).  Charlotte moved in, lived in style for a while – it was a nice place – and then did a runner without paying her rent. We were gobsmacked that she’d tried such a stunt because she was still working in the same research team as me. I was put in the difficult position of repeatedly asking Charlotte to pay Andrew’s dad – who owned the house – the rent that she owed.  Charlotte lied constantly by saying that she had just paid the money into Andrew’s dad’s account when she had done no such thing. Then Charlotte told me that it was none of my business. I responded by reminding her that it was through her working with me that she ended up sharing the house – Cathy Wilson had asked me if she could move in with us. In the end Charlotte did pay up, but I seem to remember that was only after Andrew’s dad had threatened to call his lawyer in.

There was one junior doctor at St George’s with whom I was friends who was not nuts like the others and she was very worried about the presence of Charlotte in the lab. No-one seemed to know who Charlotte was or where she had come from. She was in her mid-30s and had previously worked in Manchester – or that was the story. But lots of things that Charlotte said didn’t add up or were inconsistent. She also had a gentleman friend who would ring her at work, order us all around on the phone in a very arrogant plummy voice but who refused to identify himself. Charlotte lied constantly about everything and one day when I went home from work unexpectedly I found her on the phone to the mystery man who was on his way down from Manchester in a hurry because she was in the process of attempting to flee London. I suspect that the plans were only altered because I happened upon the scene.

Oh – then there were the rumours that Charlotte was a call-girl…

So Dafydd, who was she? A present from one of your mates at Manchester University – where Tony Francis had been working immediately before he moved to north Wales and where your old pal Bob Hobson was still employed? Did St George’s know who she was or were her references and ID etc faked? It won’t be the first time that you’ve been involved with such scams.

As far as I could see, the entire reason for Charlotte Baris going to work at St George’s was to befriend me, move into the house that I shared, run up debts and leave my reputation in the mud as far as my landlord and house mates were concerned.

Let me make it clear. There was a massive sex trafficking ring operating across the UK at that time involving Westminster politicians and others and Dafydd was at the centre of it. St George’s/Springfield Hospital was a major branch of the ring. The delivery suite at St George’s was plastered in notices which were care orders from social services – not even just Wandsworth Social Services, but from local authorities right across the country – telling the midwives that if such and such a girl turned up in labour, the police were to be called and the baby would be removed at birth. There were photos and descriptions of the girls and much was made of the fact that they might be using false names and had been diagnosed as ‘psychopaths’ by Top Doctors. Of course they were using false names – they had run away from a bloody sex trafficking gang. I was using a false name at one point because everywhere I went, Dafydd would appear. Then I realised that Dafydd and co were tracing me through Gov’t databases so I just thought sod this, I’ll stand up to them because they’ll get me anyway.

Now then Dafydd, I have been receiving info over the past few months from someone who absolutely maintains that one of your lot were behind the King’s Cross fire. I was due to be passing through the station right at the time that the fireball went up, but I’d been delayed so I missed it. I didn’t believe this person when they first told me, but they have given me more and more evidence of the way in which your mates were stalking me, had me and my friends under surveillance and they have supplied me with details of my whereabouts and activities as long as 35 yrs ago. There were people moving into shared houses and flats with me presenting themselves as young people who were my friends but they weren’t – they were gifts from the security services who’s aim was to protect you, not me.

In Oct 1987, DCS Gwynne Owen of the North Wales Police submitted the second report to the CPS regarding Alison Taylor’s allegations that children in north Wales were being abused. He dismissed her concerns and stated that: ‘There is every likelihood… she will manipulate others in the future to make similar complaints’. On 3rd Nov 1987, Alison Taylor was formally dismissed by Gwynedd County Council.

On 18 Nov 1987, the fireball ripped through King’s Cross Station. Thirty-one people died and 100 were injured. No-one has ever got to the bottom of the cause of that fire. I am told that the purpose of it was to kill me.

You lot are going to fess up.

In 1986-87 I lived in Harringay. I have mentioned previously that Dafydd freely admitted to me that he had a contact in Haringey Social Services who was going to ‘keep an eye’ on me no less. I was living in a shared house with a good group of people. Then there was havoc because a particularly mad young man turned up and moved in, whom it transpired had IRA connections. The landlord chucked him out after he threatened the landlord and then a Turkish man moved in. Who, after a few weeks, moved a 15 year old Turkish boy in with him. Into the same room, with only one bed. The Turkish boy couldn’t speak any English. This was undoubtedly a child protection issue but I doubt that Dafydd’s mates in Haringey Social Services were going to worry about that. The local MP at the time was Bernie Grant. Who was succeeded by David Lammy…

Jeremy Corbyn was the MP for a neighbouring constituency who sat on the Board of the local NHS authority.

Hilda King. I shared a flat with her in Tooting in 1989. Hilda was a psychiatric nurse at Friern Barnet Hospital. She came from Liverpool and her former nursing tutor knew Dafydd and the North Wales Hospital Denbigh – she told me this. Hilda presented herself as a good friend of mine, but subsequently began behaving very strangely and suddenly announced that she was leaving London and giving up the tenancy of the flat. She disappeared. She had a boyfriend called Mike who was always very frosty towards me. She had previously been in a relationship with a Top Doc at Friern called Dr Pilgrim. I have been told that Hilda was someone who was paid to pass on information about me.

I have also been told that there was a paedophile ring operating in Somerset when I was a teenager, that the people involved had a connection with Dafydd et al and that they were subsequently involved in receiving money for information about me, or to lie about me. The name that I have been given is Stuart Beauchamp. He was an American who lived in the same village as me when I was 12 and I used to help him with his goats – when I was 14 he went to live in Wales, but I have no idea where. I knew that Stuart and his mates dealt in drugs and that they were under surveillance by the police, although the Avon and Somerset police were completely corrupt. I didn’t believe it when I was told that Stuart was involved because I haven’t seen him for decades, but as Brown pointed out, Stuart had corrupt police officers after his blood and he could well have done anything at all to get them off his back. Stuart was a farm labourer – my opinion is that he was nothing compared to the danger that Dafydd and the Top Doctors represented, but as the Top Docs won’t fess up and they keep demanding more money, I’m naming everyone who has evidence.

Stuart shared a cottage with a man called Rob Perry. Rob had a major drugs problem but gave up drugs and became a Jehovah’s Witness in about 1980. A lot of Rob’s new friends were former Catholics who kept telling me that they had become Jehovah’s Witnesses because the Catholic Church was unbelievably ‘evil’, especially to children. I suspect that they were talking about sexual abuse, which was not so openly discussed at the time. One of Rob’s fellow members of the Kingdom Hall in Bridgwater is a man called Mike Evans.

Mike Evans was a farmer from Fiddington, but he wasn’t your average Somerset farmer. Mike Evans was a difficult man who gave up farming and turned his farm into a camping and caravan site, a very, very big one. It is now virtually a leisure centre. The local residents opposed every development and expansion of Evans’s, but somehow the planning permission kept coming. There was a degree of vindictiveness in some of the opposition, but even so it was a wonder to behold that Mike Evans was allowed to develop this Disneyland on the outskirts of a small Somerset village – the lanes were barely big enough to cope with the traffic. Local people all believed that Mr Evans was buying his way through the planning system because he was so wealthy – he hired a top flight QC at one point to flatten the neighbours. That was probably true, but Mike Evans had not always been wealthy. Mike Evans used to be quite a poor man. Until Rob Perry joined the Kingdom Hall in Bridgwater – Rob who knew me and who knew Stuart.

The MP for Bridgwater at the time was Tom King. King was a member of Thatcher’s Cabinet and he was Secretary of State for Employment when Sir Peter Morrison was a Minister in that Dept. Peter Morrison was abusing kids in care in north Wales. King later became N Ireland Secretary, so knew whatever it was that had happened at the Kincora Boys’ Home as well. Another member of Thatcher’s Cabinet, John Biffen, had grown up on a farm about three miles away from Fiddington and his mum and dad still lived there and would occasionally turn up in their famous son’s circle and charm everyone in their capacity as two bumpkins.

People tried to kill me and Brown Mr Evans and whilst that was happening you took your opportunity to become a millionaire on the back of your knowledge as to why someone was trying to kill us.

I didn’t ever have any evidence that Mike Evans ever sexually abused his children, but he used to beat the living daylights out of one of them when he was only about 3 yrs old. I witnessed it.

Perhaps the maggots could now crawl out of their hiding places and admit what they got up to and why so many of them prospered.

The ‘Daily Mirror’ today is leading with a scoop – an interview with William Roache aka Ken Barlow on His Hell and how he has forgiven his accusers. Ken is opening his heart regarding his 2013 arrest, prosecution and subsequent acquittal for historical sex offences against girls between 12 and 16 yrs old. He was found not guilty on all charges and there was much comment along the lines of ‘how very dare you’ when Ken Walked Free From The Court.

I haven’t the foggiest as to whether William Roache committed the offences or not, I don’t know Roache and was certainly not a witness. What I do know though is that Roache was Patron of St David’s Hospice in Llandudno, which is an establishment that was founded and is governed and managed by the paedophiles’ friends (see post ‘The CEOs Of St David’s Hospice’). Furthermore, William Roache was Patron of St David’s Hospice when the Chief Exec was Alun Davies, the lying, perjuring former manager of the Hergest Unit who attempted to have me imprisoned in his attempts to conceal the wrongdoing of Dafydd and the paedophiles. That doesn’t of course mean that Roache is a sex offender, but the point of being a national treasure is that you are supposed to have folk around you who keep you away from people who are assisting paedophile gangs. Sadly the screening system seems to have failed terribly, Judi Dench hangs out with Robert Bluglass and Carlo took marriage guidance advice off Jimmy Savile.

Roache seems to have spent his whole life sailing close to the wind in terms of Dafydd and the paedophiles. William Roache’s dad was a Top Doctor and William went to Rydal School in Colwyn Bay. Rydal has now merged with Penrhos College – Penrhos College was formerly the girls’ school which was just down the road from Rydal, the boys’ school. Rydal and Penrhos were the public schools of choice for wealthy people in north Wales. In recent years, former pupils from Rydal have come forward with allegations of sexual abuse – the school has admitted that a small number of teachers were guilty and that their offences were concealed.

Not all former pupils of Rydal complained of abuse and unhappiness, many speak very fondly of their time there. However, even now, Rydal Penrhos is a very tightly knit network – nearly all of the Governors are former old boys (most of the Governors are male) and they are all Top Docs, lawyers, accountants etc. That does not make them wicked people, but it is evidence of a very strong, influential alumni network which someone who was an abuser would be able to tap into should they wish to do the How Very Dare You bit.

William’s son Linus also went to Rydal School and is a past member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. So he’ll know Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen and the rest of the luvvies who’s lives do seem to touch those of Dafydd and the paedophiles (see post ‘The Village’).

Films that Linus has starred in include ‘No Surrender’, 1985; ‘Shot Through The Heart’, 1998; ‘Hart’s War’, 2002; ‘Find Me Guilty’, 2006; and ‘Mandy’, 2018. His TV credits include ‘Kidnapped’, 2006-07.

I will invite Linus to take part in my forthcoming drama ‘How Very Dare You’. We’ll tour north Wales Linus! I’m sure that the paedophiles’ folly which is Theatre Clwyd (see post ‘Workers’ Play Time’) will welcome us.

Linus’s dad William was born in Basford, Nottinghamshire, the son of Hester and Joseph Roache. He grew up in nearby Ilkeston, Derbyshire, where he attended a Steiner school set up by his grandfather in the garden of the family home. There was a long-standing paedophile ring in Derbyshire which by the 1960s was linked to Dafydd et al in north Wales. There was a Steiner school in Porthmadog which was a centre of sexual abuse in the 1980s/90s. I am also aware of a Steiner ‘Hospital’ in Birmingham which was concealing organised abuse and of at least two other Steiner schools in England about which there were concerns, although I don’t know if the concerns were about sexual abuse per se.

When I lived near Haslemere in 1988 – unbeknown to me Alun Davies and Laurie Wood (the then general manager of the North Wales Hospital Denbigh) were tracking my addresses at the time – a former midwife called Ann moved into the shared cottage where I lived. She had left the NHS – after admitting to me that she’d witnessed the sort of things that usually make midwives leave the NHS – and was working in a school for children with behavioural problems in Surrey and I think that it was a Steiner school. After a few weeks it became clear that she was not very happy with her employers and the school but she wouldn’t articulate what it was exactly that she was so worried about. She struggled on there for another few months and left among a flurry of Angel-like comments directed at her employer along the lines of ‘I’m not happy about the management’ and ‘I’ve told them that we are never going to see eye-to-eye’. I didn’t know at the time but the phrases that Ann used were the stock phrases that Angels use when people are being abused and they can’t bear to confront it. She also showed a great deal of concern about what was happening to me at the hands of those we know and love until one day she moved out and fled and I never saw her again.

So who threatened Ann then Dafydd? She might have been paid, but I gained the impression that she was far too frightened to be in receipt of goodies. There would be ample opportunities for Dafydd, D.G.E. Wood etc to have got at Ann. I was working at Surrey University at the time and my boss was Prof Vincent Marks who’s brother was Dr John Marks, the then President of the BMA, just as Tony Francis was CC’ing letters to the BMA describing how he was going to frame me. At the time John Marks was battling with Ken Clarke and both sides were using anything that they could. Dr D.G.E. Wood had already made contact with two GPs that I had registered with in Surrey/Hampshire to stick his oar in. Furthermore, one of the girls in our house, Beth, was the daughter of an educational psychologist. Many of whom conceal the abuse of children.

Bill Roache’s grandfather was a Freemason. At one point Bill Roache began a medicine degree but withdrew. Roache joined the British Army and was commissioned into the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. A regiment with which Dafydd has links. Roache lives in Wilmslow, Cheshire, which is in the area in which Dafydd’s gang operated.

In 1991, Roache won a libel action against ‘The Sun’, which had described him as boring and unpopular with his fellow Coronation Street stars. He was awarded £50,000 damages by the jury, the same amount that he had turned down in an out-of-court settlement offered by the newspaper before the case. As a result he was liable for the £120,000 costs incurred. Roache sued his law firm for negligence in 1998 and was declared bankrupt in April 1999.

Roache is a supporter of the Conservative Party. In 2007, he championed John Major as Britain’s greatest post-war PM. Roache backed disgraced ex-Conservative MP Neil Hamilton in the 1997 General Election against the anti-corruption candidate Martin Bell. Neil and Christine Hamilton used to attend social events with Sir Peter Morrison – Neil Hamilton was the MP for the neighbouring constituency.

Roache became patron of the Ilkeston-based production company Sustained Magic Ltd in 2006.

Roache is a vegetarian because he ‘doesn’t want animals being killed for him’. The Chief Exec of St David’s Hospice whilst Roache was Patron colluded with a paedophile gang which killed people.

William Roache is all spiritual. He has done a course in astrology and read the stars for his colleagues on ‘Coronation Street’ and wowed them with the accuracy of his readings. Presumably he was financially ruined by that libel case against ‘The Sun’ before he went on that course. Or else George Carman QC was a better astrologist. William Roache dressed up in white robes complete with cowl and attended a ceremony at the Henge one year. The tabloids could barely contain their joy, although Bill Roache has since denied that he is a druid.

William Roache’s on-screen wife was Deirdre, played by the actor Anne Kirkbride. Anne Spoke Out about depression and became a mental health campaigner. She did not speak out about what Bill Roache’s mates at the St David’s Hospice were doing to mental health patients in north Wales. Years ago Anne was busted for the possession of grass – or as Dafydd would say ‘mari-jew-ana’ – although info relating to that is not mentioned on her wiki entry. It definitely happened, I remember it being particularly poignant because a victim of Dafydd’s was a Coronation Street fan and used to enjoy telling people that the roach had been named after Bill Roache, who invented it. Perhaps he did, Bill and Deirdre lived rather more exciting lives than the rest of us knew about. I haven’t noticed any members of the Coronation Street cast called chillum or bong though, so perhaps they’re not aficionados of meri-jew-ana.

I watched a TV documentary about Bill Roache in the company of the man who enjoyed telling people that Bill invented the roach – I think that Deirdre had been busted by then as well. So I was a bit surprised to find that Bill Roache lived in a house furnished with human-sized Sindy doll furniture, all white with golden trimmings and carpeted with deep pile white carpets. Furthermore Bill collected Faberge eggs and went on about his eggs at length. Then the documentary explained that Bill had a big day ahead of him because he was opening a supermarket near Manchester, so I presumed that he was scraping the barrel, although that’s not an excuse for getting involved with initiatives of Dafydd and the paedophiles.

Until Alun Davies became the Chief Exec of St David’s Hospice, it was a little known and minor venture of the paedophiles’ friends. Yet once Davies arrived, Bill Roache rocked up and stars of stage and screen started appearing at fund-raising gigs – including Paul Merton, Phil Jupitus and Marcus Brigstocke (see post ‘The Bloody State We’re In’). Davies did not arrive at St David’s with an unblemished record. He had presided over a holocaust at the Hergest Unit, with scores of patient suicides and even some staff ones as well. That Unit was a smouldering heap on the pavement by the time that Davies departed, with former staff openly talking about Davies’s ‘corruption’ and how he was using his charidee work to facilitate it.

Bill Roache is also a Patron of Crimestoppers and supports the Prince’s Trust, Childhood Eye Cancer and Henshaw’s Society for the Blind.

A Hergest patient repeatedly rang Crimestoppers in the mid-1990s and gave them full details of a number of serious offences with which Dafydd and his associates were involved. Crimestoppers refused to act and told him that his calls were being treated as hoaxes. See post ’95 Glorious Years!’.

Roache was acquitted of the sex offence charges whilst he was Patron of St David’s.

Dafydd and the paedophiles’ friends were not only good at ensuring that people who had committed offences against patients were never charged, but they were able to provide the same service for certain favoured patients. There was a mental health patient who used to live near Bethesda who kept telling me how much he liked Dafydd and that Dafydd had been ‘very kind to him’. Not so long after that, this man told me that ‘two girls on a bus’ had told stories about him and he was now in trouble with the police and might have to go to court. I was actually present when Tony Francis stuck his head around the door and cheerily said ‘you won’t have to go to court, I’ve spoken to the police’. At the time I presumed that this man had been the subject of a misunderstanding or bigotry. I was told later by someone who had known him for a long time that he had committed sex offences against women again and again and again and Dafydd and Tony Francis had ‘got him off’ every time. I don’t know why he was given such preferential treatment by people who usually did all that they could to frame patients, but this man’s wider family also contained a few people who seemed to have particularly good fortune where behaving badly without ever facing the consequences was concerned.

The ‘Daily Mirror’ today also has a big feature on the late Peter Stringfellow who featured in my post ‘R.I.P. Two Paedophiles’ Friends And A Poor Cow’. In the interests of fairness I need to mention that Peter Stringfellow and his ‘beautiful girls’ all stressed that the beautiful girls in his clubs did not sell sex to the customers. However, Stringfellow alleged that there was another ‘gentleman’s club’ where the beautiful girls did exactly that and Stringfellow alleged that this club almost put him out of business by doing such a roaring trade in sex – it was Spearmint Rhino. According to the Mirror, Stringfellow was so concerned at what was going on in Spearmint Rhino that he sent some of his beautiful girls along undercover as spies and they reported back…

Spearmint Rhino is owned by John Gray and it is an American based business.

Some years ago Springfield Hospital hit the headlines after it was revealed that as part of an ’employment opportunities’ scheme for service users, one patient had been found a ‘work placement’ as a stripper at Spearmint Rhino. Dr Rachel Perkins, the clinical director of Springfield, defended this ‘placement for a disadvantaged woman service user’ on the grounds that the patient ‘chose to do it’. Rachel Perkins was clinical director of Springfield when I was a patient there. Not only were her colleagues assisting Dafydd et al in running a sex trafficking gang, but suicidal patients who were being completely neglected by the staff were told that it was their choice as to whether they killed themselves or not. I saw one suicidal distraught young man whose wife and children had been killed in a car accident some months earlier walk out of the door after telling the staff that he was going to kill himself. He was told that was up to him. Another patient expressed his astonishment and was told to keep his nose out.

There are some girls and women who are quite happy to work at Spearmint Rhino. But Rachel Perkins’ patients were coerced into doing things that they would never have usually wanted to do and were then told that it was their choice. Furthermore their lives were systematically destroyed until prostitution or stripping might seem like quite a positive option, after Rachel and co had made sure that they wouldn’t be able to return to other employment. Rachel Perkins used her position as a Gov’t adviser to support cuts in disability benefits for people with mental health problems.

Rachel stood down as clinical director of Springfield after a public inquiry which followed a number of murders of patients as well as staff and sexual assaults on patients damned the hospital and deemed it to be irretrievable. Rachel was then given a seat on the St George’s Trust Board as the Service User Representative, Rachel by then having taken a leaf out of Alastair Campbell’s book and declared herself a service user. Subsequently Rachel was given a seat on the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Rachel Perkins continued to write on LGBT issues as well as Service User Empowerment. One of her offerings bore a striking resemblance to something that Brown and I had published not long before. Brown laughed and said that we should be flattered that Rachel thought that our ideas were worth nicking, but Brown is rather more forgiving than me. All I could think was ‘that people trafficking bitch who’s colleagues refused to help me when people were trying to kill me and instead sent me back to Dafydd with whom they were colluding has plagiarised our work’.

Milli Tant And Her Radical Conscience:

Rachel Perkinsv

Perkins was at one point crowned the MIND Champion of the Year.

Milli Tant’s colleague Prof Nigel Eastman, who told me to ‘go back to north Wales’ after Rachel’s other colleagues had forced me out of my job:

Rachel: I know that as an Empowered Service User my rightful place in society should be working in the sex industry, but next time that you and Eastman try and force me into that line of work, perhaps you could get me a business start-up grant so that I can then establish my own brothel. Because I was certainly not going to work for Dafydd. Mind you, if you’d helped me set up in business a la Miss Whiplash, I wouldn’t have ended up eventually returning to academia and publishing the work with Brown that you plagiarised.

After I moved to London but before I was one of Rachel’s Empowered Service Users, I used to entertain myself by cringing at a radio programme that was a late night favourite on Capital Radio, ‘Anna and the Doc’. Anna was Anna Raeburn, an agony aunt who built up a reputation for giving terrible advice to the punters when she worked for ‘Cosmopolitan’, but I haven’t been able to find out who the Doc was. He was a lethal old git and a liar as well. By the time that I was listening to Anna and the Doc, I had encountered Dafydd and the paedophiles and witnessed serious wrongdoing at Hammersmith Hospital/RPMS and at St George’s. Sometimes people would ring up Anna and the Doc and begin to relate terrible experiences with Top Docs and ask the Doc why such a thing had happened or what they could do. Anna would interrupt them and say things like ‘now all that’s going to happen if we continue is that you are going to have another row with another doctor and that’s not going to help’. Anna would then cut them off and the self-satisfied harrumphing of the Doc could be heard in the background.

One night someone successfully evaded Anna’s filtering system and pretended that he just wanted a friendly chat with the Doc. As soon as the Doc came on the line, this man said ‘would you please tell me why drug addicts are treated so badly by doctors?’ Whereupon the Doc snapped ‘they’re not’. The caller retorted ‘oh yes they are’, but before he launched into an account of what was obviously going to be first hand experience, Anna yelled down the phone ‘they’re not. You’ve had the answer from the Doc, drug addicts are not treated badly’. Anna then cut the caller off.

Anna, I seriously thought of ringing in to tell your listeners that within the previous few weeks I had heard a research assistant and a senior technician at St George’s tell me that addicts were ‘scum, they are awful, they are such a pain the arse, we just get them out of here, everyone hates them’. I had also been told by a junior doctor that ‘I hate them, I won’t have them in my clinic no matter what their problems are’. But I guessed that after I had uttered three words, you would cut me off so I didn’t bother.

Addicts can be very, very difficult to work with, but the Doc was telling bare-faced porkies when he told the world that there was no bad feeling towards addicts on the part of Top Docs. Of course, there are some Docs who will treat addicts. Dafydd does, he sells them drugs. As did some of Rachel Perkins’s colleagues at Springfield Hospital.

If any readers know the identity of the patronising dishonest old pompouser who was the Doc on ‘Anna and the Doc’, please do let me know.

Dr Charles Hill was known as the ‘Radio Doctor’ in the 1930s. Hill was born in Islington and was educated at St Olave’s Grammar School, Southwark, London. He went to Trinity College, Cambridge and continued his medical studies at the London Hospital. Hill became Deputy Medical Officer of Oxford in 1930. He became Assistant Secretary of the BMA from 1932 and was Secretary 1944-50.

During WWII, the Ministry of Health had wanted the BBC to infiltrate health messages into ordinary programmes rather than have dedicated programmes from the Ministry of Food, but the BBC warned that this would not be effective and would be viewed by listeners as patronising. So they employed a Top Doctor to patronise them instead. Consequently, Hill’s role as the ‘Radio Doctor’ became part of the Ministry of Food’s programme, ‘Kitchen Front’, every morning from 1942. Because of the then rules about members of the medical profession advertising, Hill could not broadcast under his own name and so was just ‘The Radio Doctor’. His ‘distinctive rich voice helped make an impact’. Indeed, the high quality of the pompousing will be forever remembered.

Hill was still the BMA’s Secretary when the NHS was introduced in 1948. He negotiated with Nye Bevan and ensured that GPs did not simply become salaried employees. Don’t tell me – because that was the best way of helping poor people and achieving social justice no doubt.

Hill stood for Parliament for University of Cambridge in 1945 as an Independent. He was successful in 1950, becoming MP for Luton as a Conservative and National Liberal.

He was appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Food in 1951. He became the Postmaster-General (a non-Cabinet ministerial position with responsibilities that included broadcasting) in 1955; during his period in office he publicly berated the BBC for its reporting of the Suez Crisis. In May 1956, Hill attempted to formalise the existing agreement by which discussions or statements about matters before Parliament could not be broadcast in the fortnight preceding any debate. However, the Suez Crisis rendered this policy unworkable in practice and the Gov’t agreed to its suspension at the end of the year. Hill, who had been uneasy about the implications of the rule for freedom of expression, was relieved.

From 1957-61, Hill was Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and from 1961 he was Minister of Housing and Local Gov’t and Welsh Affairs, but he lost his place in the Cabinet in Macmillan’s ‘Night of the Long Knives’ reshuffle in 1962.

Hill was appointed as the Chairman of the Independent Television Authority in 1963, where he continued his hostile attitude towards the BBC. He was given a peerage in 1963. In 1967, Hill announced that the ITV contracts were all to be re-advertised, because he was concerned about the large profits being made by the major companies and their lack of regional identity. This resulted in a radical reorganisation of the ITV network.

Hill was appointed Chairman of the BBC Governors (1967–72), by Harold Wilson to ‘sort out’ the BBC. His appointment as BBC Chairman surprised the BBC’s Governors and several resigned. Wilson encouraged Hill to be active in editorial decisions. Hill’s Deputy Chairman was Wilson’s friend and that very good paedophiles’ friend Lord John Fulton (see post ‘Anthem For Doomed Youth’). Hill had a difficult relationship with the DG of the BBC, Hugh Greene and he eventually forced Greene to resign in 1969. Greene later described Hill as a ‘vulgarian’. He had a ‘quieter relationship’ with Greene’s successor, paedophiles’ friend Charles Curran (see previous posts). Hill retired from the BBC in 1972 but he did, however, continue to be active in the business world as Chairman of the Abbey National Building Society and of Laporte.

Hill died in 1989, aged 85.

He married Marion Spencer Wallace, with whom he had two sons and three daughters. Marion read botany at Cambridge, so could well have known UCNW’s leading light in botany, Prof Greig-Smith and his colleague from Cambridge, Prof Edred Henry Corner, Douglas Hurd’s uncle (see post ‘Additional Security Measures’).

Dr Charles Haw-Haw: ‘BMA Calling, BMA Calling’

  • BBC Radio 4 - Desert Island Discs, Charles Hill

My post ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’ described how, when staff at Ysbyty Gwynedd were busy forging documents, failing to investigate serious complaints, lying to patients, concealing serious wrongdoing and perjuring themselves in order to have patients convicted, they received a visit from the Welsh National Board, who subsequently deemed them suitable to educate mental health nurses to degree level.

I have discovered that a former member of the Welsh National Board reached high office after doing this favour for the colleagues of a paedophile gang. Let me introduce Professor Jean White CBE.

Jean White was appointed as Chief Nursing Officer for Wales in October 2010. It was Edwina Hart wot did it. The Edwina who hated Martin Jones, the former CEO of the NW Wales NHS Trust, but couldn’t get rid of him because of all the previously dirty deals with which she’d been involved (see post ‘The Human Stain’). Edwina was later appointed Minister for Business and Enterprise, where it was alleged, she distributed business grant support in return for sexual favours.

So Edwina, did Jean White hold you hostage in order to land the top job or did you offer it to her as a thank you for her earlier services and because she knew where the bodies were buried, how many there were and the details of the killings?

Jean White is ‘Welsh by birth’ – and no doubt likes a bit of bara brith and a Welsh cake –  trained as a general nurse in Swansea and practised as a theatre nurse in Wales and London. Ooh, Swansea – the location of the Swansea Mafia of which Edwina was alleged to be part of. Jean ‘has held positions in nurse education at the Welsh National Board, Health Professions Wales and Welsh Government’. So she’ll be an expert in cooking the books, fiddling the figures and ticking the right boxes.

Jean has worked with a number of European governments and is currently an expert adviser to the World Health Organisation (WHO) European Region. They clearly haven’t realised yet that they’ve been conned.

After her appointment as CNO, Jean’s main priority was ‘developing the nursing and midwifery workforce in Wales’. Ah, so THAT’S why the Betsi was placed in special measures partly as a result of its dangerous, dysfunctional maternity services! It was because they had been so highly developed by Jean – following of course all those years of Jean beavering away in nurse education.

Jean was also engaged in implementing the Nurse Staffing Levels (Wales) Act 2016. That’ll be why there are such serious nurse shortages across Wales then.

Jean is Honorary Visiting Professor to the School of Nursing and Midwifery Studies, Cardiff University; Visiting Professor to University of South Wales, Fellow of Swansea University; Fellow of Bangor University and was made Fellow of the Queen’s Nursing Institute in November 2016. She was acknowledged in the inaugural Nursing Times Nurse Leaders 2014 list and received a CBE from Lilibet in 2017 for services nursing and midwifery in the UK and Europe.

I’m feeling quite overwhelmed by all the excellence.

Jean is a member of the NMC. That’s the body which struck off the nurse who blew the whistle on the Tawel Fan Scandal but which took no action against the Angels who abused the patients in Tawel Fan.

Jean is involved in the National Institute for Social Care and Health Research (NISCHR). That’s a organisation which stumps up large grants for the paedophiles’ friends to pursue mediocre, unoriginal ‘research’ which always manages to demonstrate that basically, standards in the health and social care sector in Wales are high but could become even higher if a few more hundred thousand was given to the researchers who found that standards were high. It’s a remarkably successful strategy. Standards remain high – despite some of the most shameful mortality rates in Europe and patients dumped naked on the beds, left to lie in their own faeces – and the same small group of researchers bag all the dosh from the NISCHR.

Jean gave a power point presentation on ‘developing nursing research in Wales’, which had the words ‘Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’ splashed all over it. I don’t know whether Jean was giving the presentation to them or whether she was affiliated to them, but she might be interested to know – being a midwife and all that – that Cardiff and Vale UHB employ one Richard Penketh as a consultant gynaecologist. Penketh worked at St George’s when I did. He had sex with a research assistant in the lab – not me I hasten to add – and whilst he was having sex with her, he told her how much he wanted to have sex with her colleague. You didn’t know that I heard about that did you Mandy? Then Penketh failed some professional exams and I was told that he was such a liability that he was going to be frozen out of the London scene and ‘sent to Wales’. Once Penketh was sent to Wales, Dr Brian Gibbons, in his capacity as Health Minister, gave Penketh an award for excellence.

Penketh arrived at St George’s after having worked for Lord Robert Winston at Hammersmith Hospital. Winston didn’t warn anyone, he just passed the liability that is Penketh on to someone else, who in turn sent him to the dustbin for Top Docs that is Wales.

Lord Winston is an Emeritus Professor at Imperial College and a Labour Peer. He has presented many TV programmes and series, including ‘Walking With Cavemen’. Here’s the missing link himself:

Lord Winston 2011 (Portrait).jpg

Robert Winston is a Fellow of the RSA and a member of the Garrick, the MCC and the Athenaeum. Savile was a member of the Athenaeum and Dafydd’s umbrella’s Sir Ronnie Waterhouse and Sir William Mars-Jones were members of the Garrick.

Winston was a Council member of the ICRF and CR UK, so he will know all about the research frauds funded by people working for those charidees which I described in my posts ‘Oh Lordy, It’s CR UK’, ‘Reports Of Death Were Greatly Exaggerated’ and ‘Apocalypse Now’.

Winston is also: Chancellor, Sheffield Hallam University; Chairman of the Council, Royal College of Music; University of Surrey Council Member; Chairman of the Genesis Research Trust; Founding member and co-chair of the UK-Israel Science Council (since 2017).

Lord Winston – do you know a man called Robert Fox who works at Musgrove Park Hospital by any chance? Perhaps you have contacts in north Wales as well? I know that north Wales functions as a latrine for the Top Docs, but an awful lot of people knew that not only was the region crawling with service users who could name rich n famous people who had sexually exploited them, but that one of the service users could potentially inflict real damage because of what she witnessed when she worked as a medical researcher in, er, Hammersmith Hospital and St George’s, as well as in north Wales…

To return to Professor Jean White CBE, the fool who embraces the Top Docs whom Winston et al get rid of before the bomb explodes on their patch. Jean gave a powerpoint presentation – Jean loves powerpoints, you don’t have to think, you just put a few sentences up in capitals and vary the font a bit and then put in a few photos – in which the last slide read ‘service, education and research communities need to work together and with industry to make sure the health and social care services we have in Wales are the best that they can be’.

Unfortunately, because the health and social care services in Wales employ the likes of Jean White and Richard Penketh at the top of the tree, ‘the best that they can be’ is pretty bloody awful.

It’s OK though. Jean will soon be completing another ‘self-assessment’, as part of her ‘CPD’, along with every other fuckwit working with her. They will all spend a couple of hours assessing their strengths and diligently conclude that they are all ‘very good’ at almost everything, ‘excellent’ at a few things and ‘need to improve’ on something very trivial which does of course have no bearing at all on patient safety.

Meanwhile the mortality rates in Wales will remain some of the worst in Europe.

Here is Professor Jean White CBE. I can see a category on her next self-assessment exercise which needs to be ticked as ‘needing improvement’ – the ability to match the colour of one’s hair dye with one’s eye-brows.

Jean White

Whilst rooting around, I uncovered another lady who has inexplicably made it through the doors of the House of Lords, despite being unknown and as far as I can see, having achieved bugger all. Step forward Baroness Delyth Morgan.

Delyth Jane Morgan, Baroness Morgan of Drefelin (born 30 August 1961), is Crossbencher in the Lords having formerly sat as a Labour peer. In 2011 Morgan was appointed Chief Executive of the Breast Cancer Campaign, now known as Breast Cancer Now. She was educated at Bedford College, London, BSc Physiology & Biochemistry, 1983, now part of Royal Holloway, University of London and also UCU. She was President of the London University Union, 1985–86.

Morgan was a junior Minister in the Dept of Innovation and Skills in 2008. Delyth was then Minister for the Dept of Children, Schools and Families, 2008-10. She replaced Kevin Brennan, who was an acolyte of Rhodri Morgan (see post ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’).

Web pages relating to Delyth have mostly disappeared and all I can find is that she ‘worked in the voluntary sector’ for Shelter, the Workplace Nursing Campaign and Asthma UK and spent a ‘decade at the helm’ of Breakthrough Breast Cancer, which was formed from a merger of other charidees. Delyth led the fundraising which led to the opening, in 1999, of the Breakthrough Toby Robins Breast Cancer Research Centre at the Institute of Cancer Research.

I have definitely never worked with Delyth, but my former colleagues from Surrey University – who stole my data and gave it to Prof Nicola Curtin at Newcastle-upon-Tyne University to publish under her name – subsequently went to work at the Institute of Cancer Research. They also knew about the research frauds being perpetrated which are detailed in my previous posts. I note that Delyth’s Research Centre opened in 1999. Just before Ronnie Waterhouse published his Report re the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal.

So Delyth, you disgusting specimen – who are your parents and how did you get to know about what happened to me? Because you certainly don’t know anything about cancer research.

I’ll carry on digging, but I suspect that now I’ve mentioned Delyth, all references to her will disappear from the web. Do us a favour Delyth and disappear off the face of the earth. I’m fed up with people who don’t know their arses from their elbows but who have landed themselves plum numbers on the back of what happened to Brown and me.

By the way, Delyth comes from Dyfed, in west Wales. Where that paedophile gang operated who were linked with Dafydd and Ioan Bowen Rees’s lot in north Wales. Perhaps Mark Drakeford, who was a social worker in Dyfed whilst the gang was busy, could let us know who Delyth is?

Delyth the unknown mediocrity was given a peerage in 2004. That was the work of Blair then. Why am I not surprised?
