The Point Is To Change It

Previous posts and my post ‘Lest We Forget’ discuss the complete destabilisation of Bangor University by Dafydd’s gang and their associates from 2003 onwards, the witch-hunt to which my PhD supervisor and his wife were subjected and the plan to completely shaft the then VC, Merfyn Jones, because I had gained a PhD, was undertaking post-doc work and Brown and I had begun publishing about the excesses of the mental health services. Many paedophiles’ friends who were at each other’s throats united with a common purpose because the criminality that they had all been involved with for years was just so serious. The leader of the pack was Prof Fergus Lowe of the School of Psychology, who had built his career and his power base on overthrowing Dafydd’s influence in the University in the late 1980s and replacing it with his own equally toxic influence (see previous posts eg. ‘He’s Not The Messiah, He’s A Very Naughty Boy’ and ‘Feet In Chains’.)

As described in ‘Lest We Forget’, I realised that things were getting very nasty when I received a message from someone who’s daughter had died in the care of the mental health services in Powys telling me that a TV journo wanted to make a documentary on the appalling state of mental health care in the UK and they were interested in my story, yet the day before filming was due to begin the journo asked me to smear the VC when I was interviewed. When I refused I was told that filming could go ahead when I changed my mind. I heard no more, but I had previously been asked by an Angel who worked at Bangor University to place damaging untrue stories in the press about Merfyn after this Angel read an interview that I had given to a newspaper regarding the mental health services in Gwynedd…

Other gems were me being told that Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, an adviser to the Tory Party, intended to ‘blacken Merfyn’s name’ but he was going to wait until Merfyn’s wife had died before doing so, because it ‘will look bad’ if he did it while Nerys was terminally ill. Why was Nerys dying?? Just the little matter of the Top Docs at the Walton Centre finding that there was ‘nothing that they could do’ with regard to Nerys’s brain tumour. Of course some people do die from brain tumours, but Nerys died at a most convenient time for all those people who had stated that ‘we will get rid of him [Merfyn]’ before Nerys ever became ill. Dafydd’s gang ran the Walton Centre (see previous posts). Nerys had crossed the path of the gang herself in the early 1990s, which had resulted in fallacious allegations being made in ‘The Guardian’ about a senior sociologist at Bangor and Nerys was never forgiven (see post ‘Badlands’). Years later she married Merfyn and when he was appointed VC it was just too much for those we know and love to cope with.

At about the same time that Nerys died, a social worker who had been a colleague of Dafydd’s gang, along with her husband, was singing the praises of the Walton Centre who had successfully treated her for a brain tumour and now she was even back at work!

Ah the doctors they were wonderful!

Nerys and Merfyn were/are not neurosurgeons. How would they have ever known if the Top Docs – Dafydd’s associates – had told a few porkies about Nerys’s condition? Neither could they have relied on the second opinion of any other Top Docs; as experience has shown with me, Brown and two other witnesses, cross the paths of Dafydd and the gang and you will not get effective treatment no matter how ill you are and no Top Doctor at all will admit the truth, even if they keep a civil tongue in their head, a smile on their face and indulge in their very best ‘ooh don’t worry, we’ll look after you dear’. I have 30 years worth of documentation which demonstrates that.

At the same time that Dylan was waiting for Nerys to die so that he could blacken Merfyn’s name, another group of paedophiles’ friends were boasting about their plans to frame Merfyn for a crime.

Just before Nerys died, Fungus was telling Bangor University staff that they could forget about Merfyn now, he was finished and Fungus was in control. Dylan however was seriously pissed off because Merfyn ‘had been on his last legs but because he’s had compassionate leave he’s looking a bit better’.

It was widely known in the University that these things were happening, it was openly discussed. I was told that the RAE results were going to be terrible because so many people had co-ordinated to ensure a poor outcome to embarrass Merfyn, because his strategy was to build Bangor into a university with a solid research base. When Merfyn addressed the staff of the School of Education in his capacity as VC, I watched as, at 3-30 pm, the alarms of the watches of nearly everyone in the room went off simultaneously and they all walked out together, leaving Merfyn, my PhD supervisor and one Professor alone in the room with the post-lecture buffet. Many of those who staged the walk-out had previously worked as teachers in Gwynedd when that paedophile gang caused havoc, particularly among SEN kids. Brown and I had a lovely time with that buffet but if I’d been Merfyn I’d have sacked every one of those bastards. The associates of a gang of paedophiles on £40-50k pa who bugger off home at 3-30 pm and make a point of doing so when the VC has arrived to discuss the future of the University…

After the paedophiles’ friends walked out, an e mail was circulated to everyone in the School of Education from an ex-PE teacher inviting all to a meeting to discuss the very big threat that Merfyn posed to them what with his dangerous ideas of building up the research base of the University. My PhD supervisor turned up to find out what was going on only to find himself barred from entry. Paedophiles’ friends only!!!

Other joys at Bangor University at the time were the Finance Clerks Who Say Ni, who modelled themselves on the Knight Who Say Ni in ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’. None Shall Pass…

When we were writing big research grant bids which needed to be accompanied by spreadsheets detailing projected staff costs, materials, everything down to the last penny – which takes days and was the job of the finance dept – some of the finance clerks (not all, but enough of them to cause chaos) would simply say ‘you fill in the spreadsheet’ when they were presented with the documentation. They didn’t just do this to post-docs, I saw the delightful Gareth Who Said Ni flatly refuse to complete the spreadsheet needed by a senior Professor. The Finance Clerks Who Said Ni however did manage to fill in the spreadsheets required by Fungus and the Psychologists and Fungus didn’t even have to chop down a tree with a herring or give the Finance Clerks Who Said Ni a shrubbery. Faced with the Finance Clerks Who Said Ni, I completed my own spreadsheets. The procedure was that the bids had to then be signed off by the Chief Accountant. So I went over to his office, only to find that he was ‘in a meeting with the Psychology Dept and will not be available until next week’. By which time the deadline for submitting the bid would have passed. So the Chief Accountant Said Ni as well.

After the Finance Clerks Who Said Ni successfully caused serious problems, the Translators Said Ni. Because Bangor University is bilingual, all public lectures have to be accompanied with Welsh-English translation facilities and I and my colleagues used to do that for our seminars as well. As the paedophiles’ friends became angrier and angrier, we noticed that translators who had been booked weeks in advance either didn’t turn up to the events or turned up so late that we were unable to hold the lecture or seminar. We couldn’t go ahead without the Translators Who Said Ni because it would contravene the bilingual policy.

The Translators didn’t just Say Ni to small seminars held by my colleagues and I. The Translators Said Ni to Merfyn as well and they did it in spectacular style. At one major public lecture given by the VC which had been very heavily advertised and was fairly crucial, all the translating equipment was checked at the start of the lecture, as usual. It was working. Merfyn began giving the lecture – in Welsh – so all the English speakers put their headphones on. My headphones failed first. I signalled to the translator; I was ignored. Then other people’s headphones failed; they were ignored… Then our headphones came back on again, as Merfyn continued speaking. Then, through everyone’s headphones, loud and clear, came the sound of someone having a pee in the bogs next door. There is no way that was an accident, a Translator Who Said Ni took a microphone into the bog with them and ensured that the sound of them piddling was transmitted into everyone’s headphones. Merfyn had no idea what was happening but he noticed the expressions on the faces of those in the lecture and knew that something was going on. Everyone was far too polite to tell him what the Translators Who Said Ni had done, so after the lecture I told him: They recorded themselves pissing in the loos and made sure that the whole audience heard.

A mole has told me that the Translators Who Said Ni staged these happenings particularly when I was at the events. As usual, the desire of the paedophiles’ friends to cause problems for me screwed things up for a lot of other people as well.

OK Finance Clerks and Translators Who Said Ni, now I’m going to tell my readers where this spiteful campaign against me, my PhD supervisor and Merfyn ended up and I look forward to you trying to justify what you all resorted to.

Towards the end of his term as VC, Merfyn was appointed as a member of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The excesses of the NW Wales NHS Trust, the mortality rate, the litigation and the downright criminality of that Trust (see previous posts) had become so excruciatingly embarrassing that even the Welsh Gov’t could take no more and Edwina Hart, the then Health Minister, dissolved the Trust, along with the other two lethal, disastrous Trusts in north Wales and replaced them with the Betsi.

We cracked open the champagne, literally, foolishly believing that the services of the bunch of crooks and conmen – all associates of Dafydd – who had caused such destruction in the NHS in north Wales would now be dispensed with. Sadly not. Edwina’s past as a trade unionist and politician who had ignored so much criminality on the part of those we know and love meant that she was deeply compromised and couldn’t deal with them. There was a ‘no redundancies’ agreement with the NHS unions and almost every single one of those lying crooked bastards was recycled into the Betsi Board at their previous salary level, although I had given Edwina Hart enough documentary evidence to have had some of them arrested and charged, particularly Martin Jones, the CEO and Elfed Roberts, the Chairman. See previous posts.

Elfed was the only one who was not recycled into the new Betsi; he was given a seat on the Board of the Welsh Ambulance Trust instead. Martin had a job created for him, as the Director of the Workforce. There were ructions, people in north Wales were outraged at these crooks who had overseen such suffering and chaos just being transferred over to the new organisation. The outcome was that they were surrounding Merfyn, who was a new face in the NHS and the new CEO of the Betsi, Mary Burrows.

I and someone who made a witness statement about the threats and harassment to which he had seen me subjected were told repeatedly that ‘they won’t win’ and ‘when they lose, your life won’t be worth living’. Mary received death threats and I was told by a charming character that ‘we’ll take her out’. NHS union reps turned up to Board meetings and discussed threatening tactics outside in the corridor before the meetings got underway. Martin Jones began a blog, ‘The Workforce Director’s Blog’, which was no more than a vehicle for undermining Mary Burrows; every post was full of veiled insults and threats that were understandable to those of us who knew what was happening behind the scenes. Lies were spread about Mary in the locality and there was race hatred whipped up, Mary being American. I sat in meetings and heard racist insults and abuse directed at Mary.

After some months of sitting as a Betsi Board member, Merfyn resigned as VC. This was because he had been appointed as a SPAD to Leighton Andrews, the Welsh Gov’ts Education Minister and it would have been a conflict of interest for Merfyn to have held both positions. A rumour was sent around the University by the paedophiles’ friends that Merfyn had been embezzling the University funds and that was why he resigned.

After a year of Mary and the Betsi Board doing their best to reign the paedophiles’ friends in, an even bigger mushroom cloud went up when Merfyn was appointed Chairman of the Betsi. What followed was a wonder to behold.

Elfed Roberts began a campaign of terror against Mary and Merfyn when the Menai Deli, a sandwich shop which supplied the WRVS cafe in Ysbyty Gwynedd, lost the contract to Ginsters, a company based in Leicester. Not that is was anything to do with Mary and Merfyn, it was a decision made by WRVS HQ. Elfed’s campaign was based on the alleged ‘discrimination against a small Welsh business’. The small Welsh business in question being the Menai Deli, which happened to be owned by Elfed’s mates. Furthermore, its only contract was with the WRVS cafe in Ysbyty Gwynedd. Elfed’s wife was a leading light in the WRVS in north Wales. The Menai Deli was nothing more than a sub-contractor with regard to the cafe and it had bagged the contract through nepotism, it was not a ‘small Welsh business’, it was a scam. ‘Butty Wars’ was all over the ‘Daily Post’ for weeks and got as far as the London-based newspapers. WRVS HQ were subjected to hate mail and threats and the whole business affected their fund raising. See previous posts. Butty Wars succeeded in making north Wales look dreadful, just a bunch of racist, anti-English neanderthals.

The image of Wales was further tarnished at about the same time when Peter Hain’s house was surrounded by pro-hunting protesters and them telling journalists that Peter Hain ‘isn’t even Welsh, he’s fucking South African’. (I think that he’s Kenyan actually.) By the way liberators, Peter Hain’s mates were blown up and killed when he was in South Africa because he and his friends fought a bunch of racist bastards; Peter Hain was a braver man than you wankers. He came to the UK because he would have been killed if he’d stayed in South Africa. Furthermore, because he still insisted upon defending the rights of black people in South Africa when he was in the UK, someone tried to fit him up for a bank robbery and even after he was cleared, the old git of a Presiding judge insulted him. That judge was Sir Alan King-Hamilton, a friend of Sir Ronnie Waterhouse, Sir Ronnie being the man who concealed the VIP paedophile ring run by Dafydd and the gang.

Oh so you’re going to protest outside Peter Hain’s house because he’s not Welsh?? Why don’t you take a few corrupt judges who assisted a gang of paedophiles along with you, I’d recommend Huw Daniel myself, Huw’s Welsh as well, his dad was one of the founders of Plaid (see post ‘Tan yn Llyn’). Huw Daniel has spent his whole life kicking Welsh people who aren’t as privileged as him in the teeth. Is that to your liking? After you’ve invited a few corrupt Welsh judges to join you outside Peter Hain’s house in your protest re his racial origins, go and get your DNA analysed. No, it won’t show that you are related to the ancient Welsh Princes, no matter what Dafydd Iwan thinks, but you will find that you share over 90% of your DNA with vegetable matter, as does every other human being on the planet. DNA’s like that, it’s not very helpful to racist idiots.

I remember the dear old NF slogan well: ‘Racial purity means national security.’ Unfortunately for the NF, the Brits are one of the most mixed ‘races’ on earth…

After the cause of Butty Wars was sadly lost, there was an attempt at a repeat performance when a lovely little Welsh company owned by Welsh people in the heart of Wales called Blas ar Fwyd lost its contract to supply the patients’ snacks trolley in Ysbyty Gwynedd with cakes containing even more sugar than Mr Kripling’s cakes. Who owns Blas ar Fwyd?? Dafydd’s son, Deiniol ap Dafydd.

Calon Lan!

Elfed and Dafydd only wanted the best for the patients of Ysbyty Gwynedd, which was why they ignored the sky high mortality rates and flogged the patients butties and snacks produced by businesses owned by their friends and relatives.

I knew someone who kept Elfed under observation during Butty Wars, while Elfed was picketing Ysbyty Gwynedd. Not only did Elfed use his time on the picket line to try to find tenants for one of the bungaloids that he owns, but he went in for making a few new friends on Facebook. However the silly old bugger was new to Facebook and he didn’t put any privacy settings up, so one could network among Elfed’s Facebook friends. Hilarious, there were retired coppers from forces known to have had problems with police corruption and the Chief Accountant of Bangor University was a Facebook friend of one of Elfed’s Facebook friends no less…

When Elfed was Chairman of the NW Wales NHS Trust, he had me repeatedly arrested, on one occasion for having pink hair and calling his car a penismobile. On another occasion Elfed had me arrested for ‘harassment’, the harassment being sending the Trust ‘reams and reams of e mails’. Which I did, I was trying to follow up a complaint that I had made after I’d been refused treatment and threatened by Angels and had been subjected to an attempt to frame me for a crime when I tried to access medical help . If somebody had investigated my complaint I would not have needed to have sent reams and reams of e mails. On that occasion, I was interviewed by a DC Steve Power, who admitted in front of the lawyer who accompanied me to the station, that Elfed had ordered my arrest because he was ‘fed up’ with me. Steve Power then told us that he was retiring in a matter of days anyway and that none of this was to do with him. I was released without charge. See post ‘After The Attempt To Frame Me…’.

I recognised DC Steve Power. He was the officer who some years previously had flatly refused to take down my complaint regarding an Angel and three healthcare assistants who had assaulted and injured me. The lawyer who witnessed DC Power’s taped confession re Elfed ordering my arrest because he was fed up with me was Frances Jones. I asked her to send me copies of Power’s taped confession but I heard no more from her. Frances Jones’s name appears on documents that my lawyers only sent me some three years ago. Frances was one of the lawyers involved in one of the attempts to frame and imprison me on the basis of the perjury of Gwynedd Social Services and Tony Francis et al back in the late 1980s/90s. See previous posts.

I saw Frances Jones again a few months after my arrest. She was sitting behind me at the memorial service for Prof Duncan Tanner, the Director of Research for Bangor University. Duncan died suddenly and unexpectedly in the care of Ysbyty Gwynedd, during a routine procedure that is not considered at all risky. Unless you’re in the hands of Ysbyty Gwynedd of course. At Duncan’s memorial service, a number of people insulted Merfyn. As Frances Jones sat behind me I heard her telling other people that the huge problems in Bangor University were a result of the VC.

No Frances, the problems were the result of the associates of a paedophile gang, who, including you, are a bunch of lying, multifaceted crooked bastards.

One of my friends in north Wales told me that Frances Jones is considered to be an excellent lawyer who is much in favour with ‘the villains of Anglesey’, ‘she gets them off every time’.

Anglesey County Council – located at Llangefni – has been famed for its corruption for many years and children in care on Anglesey were abused. Some Anglesey County Councillors went to prison and returned to their roles as Councillors when they were released.

Regular readers will know that Elfed was previously Acting Deputy Chief Constable of the North Wales Police and was obliged to leave the force under a cloud smelling strongly of corruption (see previous posts). Back in the Good Old Days, Elfed was the Sergeant at Llangefni Police Station on Anglesey. Elfed was one of those coppers at Llangefni who was mates with Dafydd, Dafydd living about four miles away from Llangefni. A veteran of Welsh language protests told me that she and her mates were assaulted by Elfed when they were campaigning.

After Dafydd’s charidee CAIS began providing ‘substance abuse services’ for north Wales, the heroin problem in the region exploded. Particularly in Llangefni. No-one could work out why, Llangefni is a just a small rural market town!

One of the senior managers at Ysbyty Gwynedd who colluded to undermine Mary and Merfyn was Trystan Pritchard. Trystan told someone known to me that he really liked Elfed because Elfed had done so much for the Welsh language. Trystan is a Bangor graduate who, before joining the NHS as a corrupt manager, was a journo. I watched Trystan having a very chummy meetings with a journo days before yet another bad news story about Merfyn hit the local papers. Trystan is a Freemason who is relatively young for the sort of boring corrupt old fart who dresses up in silly gear.

After war was waged with tasty morsels baked by friends and relations of Dafydd, the forces of hell were unleashed upon Mary and Merfyn. Patients were told by Top Doctors to write to their MPs to ‘complain about them’; the appointments system was sabotaged which meant that cancer patients only received urgent appointments through the post AFTER the date of their appointment had passed; the pathology lab test results were screwed up, consistently placing patients in danger and resulting in numerous complaints; rumours were spread around Bangor that Mary and Merfyn had mismanaged the Board’s finances so badly that they were responsible for the Board’s debt (no, the previous Financial Director of the NW Wales NHS Trust stuffed Elfed and Martin over before the Trust was dissolved and the funds disappeared with her); medical records disappeared when Mary tried to investigate serious complaints and staff lied to protect abusive colleagues; and lies were told by the Top Docs, Angels and middle managers about every aspect of patient care and safety, so Mary and Merfyn couldn’t take preventative measures because the info needed was actively witheld from them.

When Mary and Merfyn organised a patients’ consultation day with regard to the mental health services, Alun Davies the former manager of the Hergest Unit turned up along with a bunch of henchmen and tried to influence the outcome. The North Wales Community Health Council, ‘the patients voice’, was colonised by Top Doctors and Christine Evans, a retired surgeon, took over as Chair while admitting on her blog that she had taken the position to keep her former surgeon colleagues at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd out of trouble after the Royal College of Surgeons had written a damning report about their misconduct. See previous posts.

The BMA joined in the fun. They mobilised the wider BMA in Wales and also busied themselves locally. A local BMA group specific to North East Wales was formed with a grandiose name; it was actually Philip Banfield and his mates. Philip Banfield is an obstetrician at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd who knows all about Dafydd’s gang, Banfield has been in north Wales for years.

On another occasion the BMA held a meeting in one of the north Wales hospitals with regard to an election which contravened all proper procedures in the run-up to an election. Mary and Merfyn told the BMA that they could not hold such a meeting on NHS premises at a time of ‘purdah’. The BMA got arsey and decamped to an hotel down the road and held their procedure-breaching meeting there.

Unlike Elfed and Martin at the NW Wales NHS Trust, Mary did investigate patients’ complaints. She was up against it because many of the staff of the complaints dept had been inherited from the NW Wales NHS Trust and they continued to insult patients and ignore Mary’s instructions to investigate complaints. The NHS unions continued to protect abusive staff.

On Mary and Merfyn’s watch, Alan Roberts, a senior Angel at Ysbyty Gwynedd, was prosecuted and convicted when he threw a lady in her 80s across the ward and injured her. Roberts mounted a campaign in his defence which was backed by other Angels as well as union reps and student nurses were bullied into supporting him. He took his case to appeal, backed by his union (which I think was the RCN) and won. Roberts didn’t win because he didn’t assault the old lady, he won because it could not be proved that her injuries had resulted from him throwing her across the ward. The old lady wasn’t there to give evidence because she had died. Roberts had also impersonated a police officer which was never addressed.

Roberts ‘the gentle giant’ received much press coverage and after he won his appeal, he told the media that he would be returning to work as an Angel. Roberts’s wife was an intensive care Angel at Ysbyty Gwynedd and She Stood By Him, as did his son, who was a student Angel.

After one of his court hearings, Alan Roberts shook his fist at me as he left. Why did I attend court? Because when the NW Wales NHS Trust was run by Martin and Elfed, Alan Roberts refused to treat me, threatened me and accused me of ‘impersonating a GP’. My subsequent complaint about him was never investigated and Martin told me that it was me who been ‘threatening and aggressive’ to Roberts. So Martin and Elfed ensured that Roberts remained in his job as an Angel, in a senior role, where he later threw an elderly lady patient across the room and injured her. See post ‘Two Dangerous Very Dishonest Nurses’.

After public protests and much ranting in the press over Mary and Merfyn’s alleged plans for the NHS in north Wales – no plans had been finalised, but the paedophiles’ friends spread panic across the region by telling bare-faced lies – Mary and Merfyn held a public meeting, at which they strove to be as honest and transparent as possible. They were met with a baying mob who threatened them with physical violence, in front of the journos, TV cameras and politicians who also attended the meeting. Not one person called for calm and the threats of violence towards Mary and Merfyn were not reported in any media outlet. What was reported was that the whole of north Wales were livid over that dreadful Mary and Merfyn who Weren’t Listening To The People.

I don’t know who the baying mob were, but I don’t think that they constituted The People. I had arrived for the public meeting early and I saw that baying mob disembark from a series of coaches, only to be greeted by a man with an NHS lanyard around his neck yelling cheerfully that ‘this is the day that Mary Burrows gets her P45’ and that today will be the day that they get the bitch out.

After threatening Mary and Merfyn, the baying mob walked out waving their fists and the meeting was closed shortly after. As people filed out of the door, the man who had greeted the coaches went absolutely apeshit. He started screaming at Mary that there would be blood and throwing chairs around the room. He was tended to by someone else who had an NHS lanyard around her neck who dispensed kind words in his moment of trauma. If that man had been an Empowered Service User he would have been arrested, charged and probably remanded in custody.

So who was the problem? A bunch of lying thugs who had facilitated a paedophile gang for years? Of course not, it was Mary and Merfyn as any fule kno. They listed to patients, they investigated complaints, they held public consultations, OF COURSE THEY HAD TO GO!!!

In June 2013, Merfyn and Mary hit the headlines of the London-based media as well as the north Wales media when they resigned after the publication of a damning report about patient care and safety at the Betsi. The report was compiled in the wake of a C difficile outbreak in which patients had died. Merfyn gave interviews and some of them are still available on BBC News Wales archive clips. He reflected on the report which had stated that there had been a breakdown between ‘ward and Board’ at the Betsi and that he and Mary had not been aware of what had been happening at ward level. Merfyn stated that he had to accept that was indeed true, they had not been aware of a number of matters of which they should have been aware. He told the BBC that he had not been able to effect change and he had therefore offered his resignation to the Health Minister Mark Drakeford and Drakeford had accepted it.

Merfyn did not tell the media that there had been a conspiracy to keep crucial information from the Board. He did not tell them that Mary and he had received hate mail and death threats. He did not tell them that I and other people who had complained about the NW Wales NHS Trust had been threatened, assaulted, repeatedly wrongly arrested and unlawfully refused all NHS treatment. Merfyn did not tell them that I had given Drakeford’s predecessor Edwina Hart enough evidence to have Elfed, Martin and a number of Top Docs and Angels arrested and that Edwina had simply refused to act. Neither did Merfyn tell the BBC that when he had been VC of Bangor University, a post-doc was asked to smear him in a documentary about the mental health services and two PhD students who were friends with that post-doc had been followed around University premises by off duty police officers and intimidated.

Perhaps Merfyn should have just said ‘I’m dealing with the associates of a fucking paedophile gang here who have deliberately let patients die in order to force my resignation’, but the BBC probably wouldn’t have broadcast that because Jimmy Savile had been a visitor to Bryn Estyn and one boy alleged that he had been gang-raped while Savile looked on.

The report that condemned Merfyn and Mary was compiled by the WAO (Welsh Audit Office) and HIW (Health Inspectorate Wales).

At the time of the report, the Auditor General for Wales was Huw Vaughan Thomas. Huw Vaughan Thomas was Chief Executive of Gwynedd County Council, 1991-96. Huw was Chief Exec of Gwynedd CC while the paedophile gang were active in Gwynedd’s children’s homes and while employees of Gwynedd Social Services lied about me and other patients to the police and on oath in attempts to secure convictions against us. Huw Vaughan Thomas was Chief Exec of Gwynedd County Council when Patient F was denied access to his own baby on the basis of unproven allegations that he was a ‘risk’ to the baby. The baby was brought up in the care of a family with two adult male sex offenders in the household. F and other people raised concerns about one of these offenders and Gwynedd Social Services admitted that he had confessed to indecently assaulting two 10 year old boys. No action was taken against him, not even when he and his friend subsequently offered their services as babysitters and yet more complaints were made about them. F was never given access to his own child and the family whom Gwynedd placed F’s baby with later left the area. F never saw his child again and did not know where he was. See previous posts.

Huw Vaughan Thomas was appointed as Chief Exec of Gwynedd County Council in the middle of the North Wales Police’s investigation into the possibility of a VIP paedophile ring in north Wales/Chester. The investigation was closed in 1992 and the police stated that no evidence of any ring had been found.

The child protection officer who denied F access to his child and who refused to even hold a case conference when F raised concerns that his baby could be at risk from the sex offenders in the household where his baby was being raised was Jo Bott. Jo Bott was a former police officer who was subsequently employed by Gwynedd Social Services.

Jo Bott alleged that F’s new wife had been ‘harassing’ the mother of F’s baby and ordered F’s wife to ‘leave her alone’. F’s wife had had no contact with the mother of F’s child since the baby was about two weeks old. The contact then was a visit to deliver clothes and a present for the baby. Because as Jo Bott knew damn well, F’s new wife had been friends with F and his stepchildren for a number of years and had paid for meals and lent the family money when they needed it. Hadn’t she Bott??? In fact the reason that she got to know F was that he found out about the attempts to imprison her on the part of Gwynedd Social Services and the Top Doctors and having been wrongfully imprisoned himself by the same people, F offered advice. F also offered other Empowered Service Users who were being abused and neglected by Jo Bott’s colleagues advice, which was why so many people used to congregate at his house in Bethesda…

Then there was the visit that F received from armed men when he put his house up for sale. No of course he didn’t tell Bott et al, but all the Empowered Service Users knew about it.

After Bott told F’s new wife to leave the mother of F’s baby alone, F’s new wife received nearly £1000 worth of bills from F’s former partner which had been run up in F’s name, along with a demand that she pay them. Then a few weeks later came a demand for some baby equipment. Oh then after that F and his new wife were offered baby photos of the baby that F was not allowed to visit – accompanied by a demand for more money of course…

Leave her alone??? F and his new wife wished that the malicious cow had moved to Jupiter but it really was quite difficult to escape her as the baby was wheeled past their house at regular intervals.

Then there was Martin, a young man who had witnessed everything re F’s baby, who was found dead in the road near Bethesda, at about the time that Huw Vaughan Thomas took up his job as Auditor General for Wales. Martin had witnessed rather more as well, because he was the father of the baby of F’s former partner’s daughter’s baby. Martin applied for custody when he discovered that the mother of his baby was battering the living daylights out of the baby. Gwynedd Social Services told Martin that they would be awarding custody to his former partner if she turned up to the hearing. Fortunately for Martin and his daughter, Mandy couldn’t even be arsed to go to the hearing so Martin was able to bring up his little girl. Until he was found dead that was.

So Huw Vaughan Thomas, who presided over this nightmare, had the final say on Merfyn’s performance as Chair of the Betsi Board!!!

For the full background on Huw Vaughan Thomas and his long list of public appointments – Huw has also been Chief Executive of Denbighshire County Council and a member of the Parole Board, among many other things – see post ‘I Know Nuzzing…’.

Huw: presided over a murderous paedophile gang:

Poor leadership a 'barrier' to safety, says watchdog - BBC ...

Why was there was vacancy as the Auditor General for Wales for Huw to step into? The vacancy arose when Jeremy Colman, the former Auditor General for Wales, resigned and was in 2010 jailed for the possession of child porn (see post ‘The Reality Is, There Is No Problem’).

Huw Vaughan Thomas wasn’t the only person who was responsible for those harsh words about Merfyn, I must be fair here. After all, HIW compiled the report in partnership with Huw Vaughan Thomas. The Chief Executive of HIW was Dr Peter Higson. Peter Higson had previously been a clinical psychologist at the North Wales Hospital; the manager of the North Wales Hospital Denbigh and the manager of the mental health services across the whole of north Wales. Peter Higson was a colleague of Dafydd’s and a good friend of Fergus Lowe.

Peter Higson had a little break away from his multiple roles in the NHS as a facilitator of Dafydd’s gang. In the early years of the millennium, Higson was the interim Chief Executive of ELWa, a Welsh quango responsible for education and training. The Chair of ELWa was Enid Rowlands. Who is married to Huw Vaughan Thomas. Enid is a psychology graduate who comes from north Wales! Just like Peter! There was a bit of a row in 2003 when Enid was Chair of ELWa because £2 million found its way into the pockets of a company called Avanti and no-one could explain where the money had gone after that. Enid refused to resign, even when it was revealed that accounting procedures had not been followed and that conflicts of interest had not been declared when Peter was appointed as interim Chief Exec of ELWa, even though Peter was a Director of the North Wales Health Authority and Enid Chaired that Authority!

Enid has clocked up nearly as many public appointments as her husband has. Among other things, Enid was/is Chair of the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority; was a member of the GMC for eight years; was UK Chair of Victim Support; was a member of the North Wales Police Authority; was/is a member of the S4C Authority; was/is a member of BUPA Council. See previous posts, including ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’.

ELWa eventually disappeared in disgrace although sadly Enid didn’t and Peter Higson was appointed as the Chief Executive of the newly created HIW. In that role, Peter Higson refused to investigate all of my very serious complaints about the North West Wales NHS Trust. But then Peter had, years previously, refused to investigate all of my complaints about Dafydd et al and Gwynedd Social Services.

So, after Merfyn was set up and blown out as Chair of the Betsi, a new Chair was appointed. It was Dr Peter Higson. After Higson took up the Chair of the Betsi Board, HIW was declared to be in such a sorry state that it was ‘not fit for purpose’. Peter Higson was the only Chief Executive that HIW had ever had and he had been there from its creation.

Do any readers know if the creation of HIW might have been the idea of a man called Peter Higson or one of his friends or relatives?

When Peter Higson was appointed Chair of the Betsi Board, Margaret Hanson was appointed as his Vice-Chair. Margaret had previously worked as a children’s and family social work team leader for Cheshire Social Services. Dafydd’s gang operated in Cheshire as well as in north Wales, through the social services. Margaret was also a Councillor in Cheshire. Margaret Hanson is married to David Hanson, the Labour MP for Delyn in north east Wales. David was also a Councillor in Cheshire; Davies was appointed as Miranda’s PPS in 2001, when all those people were yelling in the aftermath of the publication of the Waterhouse Report that Waterhouse had been a huge cover-up. See previous posts for further info about the Hansons.

When Peter and Margaret took over at the Betsi, Margaret commented to the media that she was appalled at the state of the Betsi and she really didn’t know what those previously at the helm had been thinking of.

It is now more than five years since Merfyn and Mary resigned from the Betsi. Mary sadly died of cancer a few years ago, but not before the ‘Daily Mail’ published an article about her, denouncing ‘her shameful legacy’. There has been scandal after scandal after scandal at the Betsi since Mary and Merfyn resigned. There have been allegations of severe staff bullying and an Angel who blew the whistle on the Tawel Fan Scandal, the biggest EMI patient abuse scandal in the history of the UK, received death threats and was sacked by the Board. Not one of the Angels who were filmed undercover swearing at patients who were crawling around naked on floors covered in faeces and urine was disciplined. The Angels gave interviews to the ‘Daily Post’ stating that there was nothing wrong with the care in Tawel Fan ward and that the relatives who complained were ‘troublemakers’. Some of the same Angels were subsequently caught abusing patients in the ward to which they had been transferred after Tawel Fan closed down. None of them have been disciplined.

The obstetric service at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd was found to be so dangerous that a hit squad was sent in from the Welsh Gov’t to ‘turn it around’. There were accusations that the behaviour of one obstetrician was so crazed and intimidating that it had caused meltdown in the service. Phil Banfield is the senior obstetrician at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The Board was placed in special measures and the first goal of the hit squad was to ‘achieve normality’ in the maternity service. The Board remains in special measures all these years later because normality has still not been achieved.

The abnormality of the obstetric service at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd had obviously been missed by Huw Vaughan Thomas’s wife Enid, who was Chair of the North Wales Health Authority long before Mary and Merfyn got near the Betsi. But Peter Higson, being a Director of the North Wales Health Authority had missed the abnormality along with Enid. But then Peter’s mate Prof Bob Woods from the School of Psychology at Bangor University has been north Wales’s expert in dementia care for decades now, so he must have been something to do with the abnormality at Tawel Fan. Another of Peter’s many roles was that of a lecturer on the clinical psychology course at Bangor University. Bob Woods was Director of that course and before the North Wales Hospital was closed down, clin psy students did their ‘training’ placements under the lecherous eye – and hands – of Dafydd.

Peter Higson is also a member of the Council at Bangor University. After Peter was appointed to the Council, Bangor University awarded Peter’s sister, Dr Ruth Hussey, an honorary degree. Ruth was Chief Medical Officer for Wales, 2012-16. Ruth was CMO for Wales when the Betsi was failing to achieve normality, in spite of the best efforts of the hit squad from the Welsh Gov’t. See post ‘Topsy and Tim’ for further details of Peter And Ruth’s biographies.

Well after Merfyn and Mary resigned, the Betsi Board effectively went bankrupt and the Welsh Gov’t bailed it out. Several times. But still the Board couldn’t manage. The Board has a recruitment crisis in every aspect of its work, no-one wants to work for the NHS in north Wales in any capacity. Litigation against the Board is soaring and the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales has spoken out repeatedly about the worrying number of complaints that he is dealing with about the Betsi. The mortality and suicide rates for north Wales are some of the worst in Europe and have got worse since Mary and Merfyn departed.

Since Mary and Merfyn resigned, the Betsi’s performance, on every measure, has plummeted and the Board has sunk so deeply into the red that it doesn’t make sense for the Welsh Gov’t to talk about giving the Betsi a bail out to enable it to balance the books. The Board is bankrupt, has been for quite some time and it is sinking deeper and deeper and deeper.

The Tory AM Mark Isherwood some months ago made a speech in the Senedd in despair at the state of the Betsi and the patient harm and deaths, ending it with ‘this cannot be allowed to continue’. Vaughan Gething, the Welsh Gov’ts Minister for Health told Mark to stop talking down the NHS.

As for those politicians who sat in silence in that public meeting some six years ago while an organised mob hurled threats and abuse at Merfyn and Mary, they are still in office. One was Darren Millar, the Tory AM for Clwyd West. To be fair to Darren, he is the only politician who in recent years has called for prosecutions with regard to the abuse of patients at the Betsi.

Another of the politicians was Plaid’s Llyr Huws Gruffydd. I had met Llyr before I saw him sit in silence at that meeting. I had previously e mailed him and given him full details of the extended neglect and abuse of a friend of mine at the hands of the mental health services in north Wales. Llyr wrote me a very nice e mail back saying that this sounded shocking. When the mental health services heard that I was writing to politicians, they admitted my, by then, very very ill, suicidal friend to a psych ward in Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Llyr turned up and the Angel in charge told him that there were no problems at all re my friend. Llyr told me that my friend was in safe hands. My friend was discharged the next day and, once more, unlawfully refused NHS care. He became destitute and nearly died some months later. I never heard from Llyr again, although I did e mail him and tell him what was happening to my friend.

The third politician who sat in silence at the public meeting was the Labour AM for the Vale of Clwyd, Ann Jones. Ann Jones regularly comments on her support for the NHS and its wonderful staff. She has never said a word about the escalating horror prevailing at the Betsi since Mary and Merfyn’s departure. But then Ann Jones never said a word about the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal despite being on the scene throughout it all. Jones was born and educated in Rhyl, was a Rhyl Town Councillor and a Denbighshire County Councillor. Ann Jones is Deputy Presiding Officer of the Welsh Assembly. I am still on the mailing list for many of the things which I was involved when I was still in Wales and a few days ago I was invited to a Wimmins Event with Ann as a guest speaker. I’ll give that one a miss, I don’t want to be told that Ann is my role model. Even if I did feel in need of a role model, I would not choose Ann.

A third person resigned along with Merfyn and Mary, that was Dr Lyndon Miles, the Vice-Chair of the Betsi Board. I always found Lyndon very pleasant and approachable and after the threats and abuse at the public meeting, I bumped into him in a cafe and he told me that the Board were getting a very bad time but they were determined to see this through. Two weeks later Lyndon resigned and I think that he resigned before Mary and Merfyn.

Lyndon wasn’t crazed and threatening like the other Top Doctors, but he definitely knew what they were doing and had known for years. Lyndon is a GP and arrived in Bangor in about 1984, when the gang called for reinforcements. The reinforcements were all like Lyndon, they weren’t obviously mad a la Dafydd et al but they colluded with Dafydd and the gang. Lyndon was a GP in the Student Health Centre in UCNW, he worked with Dr D.G.E. Wood, Liz Stables and Gwynne the lobotomist who were facilitating the trafficking ring. Lyndon was the GP of my housemate Anne Vernon when she was killed by the gang. Lyndon was also the GP of the young female psych patient who was used for sex by the junior gynaecologists of Ysbyty Gwynedd, made pregnant twice by them and then coerced into abortions which they had arranged. She was subsequently refused all NHS treatment and told that if she wanted to access care she’d have to move to England. See post ‘Another Case Of Not Knowing?’

Lyndon worked as a GP in north Wales throughout the worst of Dafydd’s gang; he was there during the rapes of the kids in care, the unlawful denial of access to NHS abortions anywhere in north Wales thus forcing women into the hands of the dangerous ‘private’ abortionist in Chester, the framing of victims of the gang, the banging them up in high security hospitals, the constant suspicious deaths and suicides, the forging of records and throughout the Waterhouse Inquiry, Lyndon knew about it all and he has never said a word. He also knew what happened to me. Lyndon also spent years as Vice-Chair of the Gwynedd Local Health Board. Lyndon knows all about the murdering criminal bastards.

Lyndon is now Chair of St David’s Hospice, an institution run entirely by Dafydd’s gang. Alun Davies became Chief Exec of St David’s Hospice when the deaths and suicides of patients and staff at the Hergest Unit meant that even Davies was too embarrassed to remain as the Director of the mental health services for the NW Wales NHS Trust any longer. When Davies retired from St David’s Hospice just a few years ago, Trystan Pritchard was appointed Chief Executive. See post ‘The CEOs of St David’s Hospice’.

It is clear that Dafydd’s gang and their associates did indeed precipitate a situation in which patients died at the Betsi in order to cover Merfyn with crap and force him to resign as Chair.

Perhaps someone needs to hold the following people to account:

The Director of the Pathology labs who knew that infection was raging throughout the hospitals managed by the Board but did not control the situation or keep Merfyn and Mary informed. That person is Dr Avril Wayte. Avril is a member of the Board of Dafydd’s charidee CAIS.

Avril is married to Dr Donald Wayte, a retired pathologist. For years, Donald Wayte was the senior pathologist for north Wales. Highlights of Don’s career included accusing parents, in public, who’s children had died of SIDS of having murdered them on the basis of absolutely no evidence at all and taking the 15 yr old son of a friend of his into the hospital to work with him without gaining permission or ethical clearance from anyone. The teenager had a lovely time, he saw the dead bodies, the lot, thanks to dear old Don.

Don played a key role in many a Nasty Case and an ‘Orrible Murder, what with ruling the roost over the whole of north Wales for many of the years that Dafydd’s gang ran riot, years in which north Wales became famous for its corruption in medico-legal circles, the fitting up of innocent people and the ludicrous explanations for the suspicious deaths of so many victims of and witnesses to the crimes of Dafydd’s gang. People were found hanging, found dead from overdoses, they were hit by cars, they fell out of windows, down embankments, out of trains going at speed, they were killed in fires, there was no end to the untimely and unfortunate deaths of so many in north Wales who had encountered Dafydd et al. The coroner or judge presiding over the trial often relied on the evidence of Dafydd’s mate Don.

Don was the pathologist who gave evidence at the July 1996 trial of Howard Hughes. Hughes was found guilty of the 1995 rape and murder of a little girl called Sophie Hook, who disappeared from a tent in a garden in Llandudno and who’s body was later recovered from the sea. Howard was a wrong ‘un, everyone knew that, especially the police. Howard had a chromosome abnormality which caused him to grow very tall, he is getting on for 7 foot high. Howard also has learning disabilities and cannot read and write, so he could not read the statement that he made to the police. Howard has always denied knowing anything at all about Sophie’s disappearance. He came under suspicion because he was seen on a footpath near the garden from where Sophie disappeared. But nowhere near the time that Sophie disappeared. Furthermore, the garden where Sophie was camping is in a suburban part of Llandudno, so a lot of people were on that path.

The police seemed to know that they were looking for a big man with learning difficulties because they told the world that they were looking for a big brute. They found one shortly after saying that and arrested Howard. They had to release him again because there was absolutely no evidence linking him with the crime. While Howard was out, the police raided his house and most conveniently found child porn. So he was re-arrested. Howard was remanded in custody and when he was in prison on remand, another prisoner, a convicted child sex offender maintained that Howard had confessed to Sophie’s rape and murder. The account that this prisoner gave of Howard’s confession sounded rather like the fantasy of a child sex offender. That statement was the only evidence linking Howard to the Sophie’s disappearance. Everything else was pure speculation, including the allegation of ‘he was seen carrying her dead body’. No he wasn’t. Someone said that they thought that they saw someone who might have been Howard carrying a sack with something in it late one night. But there was no evidence that the person was Howard, if indeed such a person was seen and who knows what was in the sack, if there was a sack, which was far from certain. There was absolutely no evidence against Howard except for the confession of a convicted sex offender who also admitted that sometimes he did make things up but he hadn’t on this occasion.

Dafydd’s mate Don gave an account of the terrible injuries that had been inflicted on Sophie’s body, but true to form, Don didn’t just confine himself to that. Don explained exactly what Howard had done to Sophie. How Don knew this I don’t know, because much of his evidence could not have been extrapolated from the injuries postmortem on a body recovered from the sea, but Don Knew. See previous posts for further details.

When Howard Hughes was sentenced, the world heard the details of his previous, which was terrible, I would be wary of someone with a criminal record like Howard’s. Indeed, I nearly was someone with a criminal record like Howard’s. If every attempt that Dafydd and the gang had made to fit me up had been successful, I would have a criminal record like Howard Hughes. And it would all be a load of cobblers.

Howard was arrested, convicted and imprisoned at the time that Dafydd’s gang repeatedly tried to fit me up for serious offences by planting evidence, committing perjury and I am told, paying people to lie about me. The gang became very busy after 1994, because Brown had sent them yet more evidence of Dafydd trying to bribe me into dropping my complaint about him and I and another patient also had a meeting with two members of the Mental Health Act Commission and told then that serious complaints about Dafydd were not being investigated, including that of him sexually exploiting patients. Our complaints were still not investigated, but we were arrested.

The reason why I am so cautious before screaming for Howard’s knackers on a platter, is that from quite a young age, everyone responsible for Howard’s diagnoses, care and ‘assessments’ were associates of Dafydd and the gang. Howard had also been in Bryn Estyn, where he maintained that he was abused. Howard’s claim for compensation re Bryn Estyn was rejected on the grounds that he had serious criminal convictions. But then most of the boys from Bryn Estyn did, because if they weren’t brutalised and driven mad by being beaten and gang raped, they were fitted up by Dafydd’s gang to discredit them. Howard had also spent time in Garth Angharad, the ‘hospital for mentally abnormal criminals’ near Dolgellau. Except that it wasn’t a hospital at all, it was an isolated building hidden away which was owned by a solicitor who was later struck off for stealing his clients’ money. Before that occurred, the struck off solicitor had owned and managed children’s homes and schools, where the kids had been abused. Even Ronnie Waterhouse didn’t have a good word to say about the owner of Garth Angharad, Paul Hett. See previous posts.

I didn’t know of the existence of Garth Angharad until a few years ago when I received my own files. In the late 1980s, when I was sitting in a London medical school as a postgrad student, a case conference had been held about me in Garth Angharad, without my knowledge, by a man of whom I had never heard, who took evidence about me from people of whom I had never heard. The conclusion was that I was extremely dangerous, capable of murder and should be banged up in a high security hospital as soon as poss. See post ‘The Night Of The (Dr Chris) Hunter’. The reason why the case conference about me was held in Garth Angharad was that the man who held it, Dr Chris Hunter, of whom I had never heard, was visiting Garth Angharad to see one of his patients there. Hunter was a mate of Dafydd’s gang which was why Tony Francis and Dafydd had asked him to hold a case conference about me. Chris Hunter also had patients in Ashworth Hospital – where patients were raped and beaten by Angels, one patient being battered to death – in Whitchurch Hospital and in the Caswell Clinic in Bridgend. All of these places were receptacles for the victims of Dafydd’s gang who complained about him. They were hospitals in name only.

The Top Doctor who used to sit on the Betsi Board as the Top Docs’ representative at the time of Merfyn’s resignation has more than a few questions to answer. I can’t remember his name, but he was rude, awkward as fuck and highly defensive. He refused to co-operate with anything that Merfyn and Mary suggested re improvements in patient care and he took an entrenched position on absolutely everything.

The Health Minister who so willingly accepted Merfyn’s resignation and smugly announced that he would be appointing a replacement, which was Peter Higson was of course this blog’s old friend Mark Drakeford. Drakeford worked as a social worker for Dyfed Social Services when a paedophile gang operated in Dyfed Social Services which had links to Dafydd’s gang. Drakeford served as Rhodri Morgan’s SPAD for years while the slaughter continued apace in north Wales and when serious complaints went uninvestigated. When Drakeford was Health Minister, bombs went off under him constantly, NHS deaths, scandals, corrupt practices, the lot. He refused to accept responsibility for any of it. During that time, I wrote to Drakeford and gave him full details of a medical research fraud that I had witnessed. I did not receive a reply and some three weeks later, Drakeford appeared with members of the team who perpetrated the fraud at a media PR event, promoting the fraud.

Just a few weeks ago, Mark Drakeford’s 31 year old son was sentenced to eight years in prison for the prolonged violent rape of a young woman. Drakeford junior was also charged with grooming a child.

Martin Jones, the Director of the Workforce at the Betsi who hated Merfyn and Mary, was one of the leaders of the lynch mob and after all those scandals at the Betsi was appointed Director of Investigations for NHS Wales. Martin is now the ultimate man for investigating complaints in Wales’s NHS…

The PM when Merfyn was forced out by a bunch of psychopaths who conspired to allow patients die to make him look bad was Lord Snooty the Third. Health is a devolved responsibility, so the Betsi was nothing to do with Lord Snooty the Third, but as previous posts (eg. Lord Snooty The Third) explained, Lord Snooty had a great deal to do with what was going on in north Wales. As indeed did Cherie, Miranda, Gordon Brown and Ed Miliband (see post ‘Lest We Forget’).

The Torygraph, the newspaper most supportive of Lord Snooty the Third, some 10 years ago, ran a flattering report about an Angel from Ysbyty Gwynedd, Stephen Gallagher, who was in the TA and while on duty in Afghanistan, had ‘saved a boy’s life’. The story was substantially untrue, breached confidence and put the lives of the boy and his family at risk. I had made a complaint about Gallagher some months previously, after he had refused to treat me and threatened me. Martin Jones destroyed the CCTV that showed Gallagher doing this. I was told that the senior managers of the NW Wales NHS Trust had given the story about Major Gallagher the War Hero to the Torygraph. I was also told that before he had threatened me, there was already a note on Gallagher’s HR file saying that his competence and integrity could not be relied upon, after a Top Doctor made a complaint about him. Some time after Gallagher appeared in the Torygraph, he threatened me again and two witnesses made a statement detailing what they had seen. One of the witnesses worked at Ysbyty Gwynedd and then Gallagher threatened her. She was subsequently accused of conspiring with me to ‘get’ the Trust Board. There was no investigation into any of the complaints that arose from any of this. See post ‘Two Dangerous, Very Dishonest Nurses’.

For crying out loud, get it into your heads everyone, Dafydd’s gang don’t have and never did have any limits. They fitted complainants up and had them imprisoned for years or banged up in high security hospitals and they murdered witnesses. They have ruled north Wales for decades and what a legacy there is. I thought that they were pretty bloody stupid coming after a young woman with a postgrad degree in medical sciences, but they stop at nothing, nothing at all. They made statements claiming that I had attempted to stab someone. Then admitted that no, I had done no such thing. They made statements saying that I had tried to throttle someone. Then admitted that no, I had done no such thing. They made statements saying that I was known to carry and use weapons. They were not able to show evidence of this. Or of their allegation that I had held an Angel hostage. Or that I have been in prison for attacking someone with a knife. Or that I had sexually assaulted a psychiatrist. Yet no-one would take action against this lot, no-one.

Then in 2013 they let a load of patients die because they wanted to force out a man who had been a VC and Governor of the BBC and who’s wife had died at their hands. I recommend that Merfyn hires a lawyer and obtains copies of his medical records. They probably explain that it was really him who raped that young woman, not Mark Drakeford’s son at all, but what with his wicked ways, Merfyn blamed it all on Drakeford junior.

Just for the record: Merfyn was my ultimate boss for a number of years when I worked at Bangor University. I never ever witnessed him raise his voice to anyone, swear at anyone, lose his temper or even be rude to someone else. I saw him look really fucking exasperated as the paedophiles’ friends insulted him, shouted at him in public and refused to do the jobs for which they were so generously paid while treating staff and students appallingly. He should have broken his code of conduct and fucking well flattened the lot of them.

Now, all the names of those worthless bastards who assisted in the deaths of those patients to force Merfyn to resign please, to me at this blog or via my e mail address and I’ll name every one of them…

Here he is in his well-dressed man disguise, you can tell he’s a wrong ‘un:

Comedies of Menace

Here’s someone who really should have featured on this blog before now, but then the Corrupt Incestuous Shithouse is so big that I keep finding new residents. Introducing:

Francis Aungier Pakenham, 7th Earl of Longford, 1st Baron Pakenham (5 December 1905 – 3 August 2001), known to his family as Frank Longford and styled Lord Pakenham, 1945-61, was a member of the Labour Party and one of its longest serving politicians. He held a number of Cabinet positions between 1947 and 1968. Longford was politically active up until his death in 2001. A member of a landed Anglo-Irish family, Frank Longford was one of the few aristocratic hereditary peers to have ever served in senior capacity within a Labour government. Longford was known best for his devout Christianity and work as a penal reformer.

Longford was widely unpopular among Labour leaders, was criticised for his lack of Ministerial ability, yet was moved from Cabinet post to Cabinet post. Harold Wilson stated that Longford had the ‘mental capacity of a 12 yr old’. Yet people kept giving him yet more senior jobs. Even after Longford resigned from the Gov’t in 1968, he was invited onto committee after committee after committee. By the 1970s Lord Longford was a standing joke and continually attacked by journos and media outlets across the political spectrum. Yet he wasn’t ever blown out of public life or even simply ignored. I think that I know why…

Pakenham went to Eton, then to New College, Oxford, where he was a member of the Bullingdon Club. He spent a short time working for the ‘Daily Mail’, as a don at Christ Church, Oxford and he also worked as a stockbroker with disastrous results. Pakenham and his wife Elizabeth worked for the WEA at Stoke after they graduated and then in 1931 he joined the Conservative Research Dept, developing education policy for the Tories. By the early 1970s, the Conservative Research Dept was known to be a hotbed of predatory gay men, some of them targeting under-aged boys. As with the hubs of child abuse in certain locations such as north Wales and Lambeth, there are indications that the shenanigans at the Conservative Research Dept had been going on for a very long time. For years, new staff were employed who would ‘fit in’ and were of the same nature as the staff already there…

Frank Pakenham’s conservatism could not have been very deep because his wife Elizabeth ‘persuaded’ him to become a socialist. Elizabeth was from a socialist family – her brother was Harriet Harman’s father, John. The Harmans were a family with a good supply of Top Docs. Elizabeth’s father was the opthalmic surgeon Nathanial Bishop Harman, who also had a Harley Street practice. Nathanial Harman trained at the Middlesex Hospital, where Gwynne the lobotomist trained. Gwynne was afforded lifelong protection by the alumni network of the Middlesex. Harman became the Dean of West London Postgraduate College, an institution which disappeared a long time ago, I think because the Royal Postgraduate Medical School at Hammersmith Hospital squeezed it out of existence and took over its functions. My post ‘Interesting Facts’ detailed some of the shocking abuses and frauds which have taken place at RPMS in recent decades which have not received wide publicity. It seems that malpractice was the order of the day at that institution over decades. An article entitled ‘Human Guinea Pigs: A Warning’, published in 1962 in the journal Twentieth Century by Maurice Papworth, highlighted many unethical practices regarding human experimentation at RPMS. According to Papworth, experiments had been carried out without valid consent on vulnerable patients, such as children and the mentally ill.

Most of the people whom I witnessed participating in misconduct and research fraud when I was at RPMS (1986-87) are still working in research or medicine.

Nathanial Harman held a number of offices in the BMA and was a generous benefactor to that organisation. He was also a member of the GMC.

Harriet’s dad John Harman worked at Tommy’s as well as at his Harley Street practice and gave evidence for the defence during the trial of Dr John Bodkin Adams, the Top Doc who was almost certainly a serial killer and one on a bigger scale than Harold Shipman. Furthermore John Harman gave evidence on matters of which he had no experience. See post ‘An Appalling Vista’.

As well as having a general practice, Bodkin Adams worked at All Saints Hospital. The chaplain of All Saints Hospital, Eastbourne, at the time of Bodkin Adams’ arrest in 1956 was the Rev Hubert Brasier, the father of Theresa May. Before Theresa May was elected to the Commons, she was a Councillor for Merton, 1986-94. Merton was on the patch of St George’s Hospital Medical School, many of who’s staff when Theresa was a Councillor there were concealing the crimes of Dafydd and his gang in north Wales and a related gang in south London (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part III’).

Here’s a Socialist Feminist Who Supports the NHS who also sounds off on matters of which she has no experience:

Harriet HarmanHarriet HarmanHarriet HarmanHarriet Harman

Nanny Harriet wasn’t able to do the jobs in Gov’t to which she was repeatedly appointed, so eventually a Spad was sent to do her jobs for her, one Ed Miliband, who’s Uncle Harry was a consultant at er, Tommy’s.

Dafydd’s mate and umbrella Professor Jim Watson worked at Tommy’s as a ‘sex therapist’, after having worked as a ‘sex therapist’ at St George’s and the Maudsley (see post ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’).

As well as being Harriet’s auntie, Lady Elizabeth Longford was a great-niece of the Tory radical Jospeh Chamberlain and a first cousin once removed of the British PM Neville Chamberlain. Elizabeth Longford made several unsuccessful attempts at becoming a Labour MP. She was an historian, a member of the Royal Society for Literature and a Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery.

Lloyd Tyrell-Kenyon, the 5th Baron Kenyon, was a Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery, 1953-88. Lord Kenyon was one of the biggest umbrellas for Dafydd and the gang in north Wales and Kenyon’s son Thomas Tyrell-Kenyon was known to be sexually exploiting at least one boy in care in north Wales in the late 1970s. Thomas Tyrell-Kenyon faced no charges at any point, although the boy was sent to a detention centre after Thomas made a complaint that the boy had stolen off him after they had spent the night together. Part of Thomas’s complaint was that the boy had stolen pornographic photos of the two of them together which Thomas had taken using a Polaroid. The boy in question later gave evidence to the Waterhouse Inquiry stating that Thomas had ‘used him for sex’ on numerous occasions. Thomas was not available to give evidence, having died of an HIV-related condition in 1993. See post ‘A Bit More Paleontology’.

Both Elizabeth and Frank Pakenham were devout Roman Catholic converts, although Elizabeth found Frank’s embracing of the RC Church very difficult at first, having been brought up as a Unitarian.

Frank Pakenham joined the British Army but his career as a soldier proved to be a spectacular failure. He was completely unable to cope with life in the Army and the consequent psychological strain soon manifested itself in physical symptoms and in the spring of 1940 Frank was invalided out of the Army as a result of what was then referred to as a nervous breakdown. Subsequently however, Pakenham, together with Maurice Bowra, raised and commanded the South Company of the Oxford City Battalion of the Home Guard. The ridiculous supervened; Pakenham was shot in the foot by the only member of his company to possess any ammunition.

Sir Cecil Maurice Bowra was an English scholar who studied at New College, Oxford and was Warden of Wadham College, Oxford, 1938-70 and VC of Oxford University, 1951-54. Bowra was gay and as an undergraduate was known to cruise for sex. Quotes for which Bowra is well-known include: ‘Buggers can’t be choosers’ (explaining his engagement, later called off, to Audrey Beecham); ‘Buggery was invented to fill that awkward hour between Evensong and cocktails’ or was ‘useful for filling that awkward time between tea and cocktails’; and ‘Splendid couple — slept with both of them’ (on hearing of the engagement of a well-known literary pair).

As an undergrad Bowra was very sociable and his circle included the Tory politician Lord Bob Boothby, who was bisexual and managed to have affairs with Harold Macmillan’s wife Dorothy as well as with a great many others including a range of rent boys and, it is alleged, Ronnie Kray (see previous posts). Bowra was a friend of and shared lodgings with Viscount Cyril Radcliffe, the Law Lord who was the first Chancellor of the University of Warwick, 1965-77.

After being called to the Bar, Cyril Radcliffe joined the chambers of Wilfred Greene, later the Master Of The Rolls. During WWII Radcliffe joined the Ministry of Information, becoming DG by 1941. There he worked closely with Minister Brendan Bracken, who was Minister of Information, 1941-45. Viscount Bracken is best remembered for opposing the Bank of England’s co-operation with Hitler and for subsequently supporting Churchill’s prosecution of WWII against Hitler.

Bracken’s first career was as a newspaper publisher and magazine editor. Many of Bracken’s early magazine stories included a political flavour and he commissioned articles from a wide range of politicians such as Churchill and Mussolini. Business and politics permanently overlapped in his life, in a similar way to the career of his occasional friend Lord Beaverbrook. He needed politicians for stories and they needed the publicity given by his publications.

Bracken was PPS to PM Churchill, 1940-41 and then he was First Lord of the Admiralty, 25 May 1945-26 July 1945. Lord Louis Mountbatten was First Sea Lord, 1955-59 and had reached a senior level at the Admiralty by the time that Bracken was First Lord, so Bracken will have known about the allegations that Mountbatten was a molester of under-aged boys, as well as the other sex and spy scandals at the Admiralty of that era (see post ‘The Defence Of The Realm’).

Bracken’s friend Cyril Radcliffe was involved in the Partition of India. Radcliffe was a man who had never been east of Paris, but nonetheless he was given the Chairmanship of the two boundary committees set up with the passing of the Indian Independence Act. Radcliffe was faced with the task of drawing the borders for the new nations of Pakistan and India in a way that would leave as many Hindus and Sikhs in India and Muslims in Pakistan as possible. Radcliffe submitted his partition map on 9 August 1947, which split Punjab and Bengal almost in half. The new boundaries were formally announced on 14 August 1947 – the day of Pakistan’s independence and the day before India became independent of the UK. Louis Mountbatten in his capacity as Viceroy and Governor-General of India was also involved in the Partition (see post ‘The Defence Of The Realm’).

Radcliffe was born in Llanychan, Denbighshire. My post ‘Anthem For Doomed Youth’ details how in 1968 three students from Sussex University caused a sensation when they threw red paint over a visiting US official in a protest related to the Vietnam War. One of the students was Merfyn Jones, who later became VC of Bangor University and who grew up in Gwynedd. Asa Briggs, the VC of Sussex University at the time, was one of those with links to the security services who concealed the early organised abuse of those associated with Dafydd’s gang. Briggs bore a lifelong grudge against the three student protestors and contributed to the serious fire from Dafydd’s gang that was aimed at Merfyn when he became VC of Bangor University in 2003. After he graduated from Sussex, Merfyn undertook postgraduate work at Warwick University where he was involved in the student activism which revealed that Warwick was doing a few things that it probably should not have been doing. Radcliffe was Chancellor at the time. I had not realised that Radcliffe came from Denbighshire. The paedophiles’ friends being what they are, Radcliffe’s links to north Wales will have been used to maximum advantage.

In 1992 Wadham College named its Bowra Building in Maurice Bowra’s honour.

I know someone who studied at Wadham College while Bowra was Warden who always cheerily referred to his old college as ‘Wadham and Gomorrah’. I just thought that it was a nice little quip but I wonder if he was joking about matters of which I knew nothing.

Other high profile alumni of Wadham and Gomorrah include the former Archbishop of Canterbury who originated from Swansea, Rowan Williams, Melvyn Bragg the MIND Ambassador and Michael Foot. Not only was Michael Foot the Leader of the Labour Party while everyone in that Party sat on the barrel of crap which included George Thomas as well as Dafydd et al in north Wales (Oh, No! It’s The Pathetic Sharks…’), but Footie was Lord President of The Council, 1976-79. The Lord President of the Council doubles up as the visitor for Bangor University (UCNW). While Foot was Lord President of the Council, Shirl was asked by Dafydd Wigley if she would, in her capacity as Education Secretary, hold a public inquiry into the running of UCNW by Sir Charles Evans, such was the chaos and dysfunction within that institution. Shirl refused. The chaos and dysfunction were a result of Charles Evans allowing Dafydd et al to use the College to run their sex trafficking ring as Footie and Shirl were well aware. See post ‘We’ve Been Expecting You…’.

One other distinguished alumnus of Wadham and Gomorrah is Lord John Dyson who was a High Court judge, 1993-01; Lord Justice of Appeal, 2001-10; Justice of the Supreme Court, 2010-12; and Master of the Rolls, 2012-16. John Dyson was called to Bar at Middle Temple, as was Sir Ronnie Waterhouse. Dyson and Waterhouse knew each other well.

1940 was the year that Frank Pakenham became a Catholic as well as being invalided out of the Army because of his nervous breakdown. Elizabeth Pakenham joined the Church of Rome six years later.

Frank Pakenham embarked upon a career in politics which had begun with his election as an Oxford City Councillor in the 1930s. Oxfordshire had a major problem with the abuse of kids in its children’s homes by the 1950s, which probably stretched much further back than that. This was concealed by Top Doc Dr Vladimir Kahan and his social worker wife Barbara, who became a social work adviser on children in care to successive Gov’ts from the early 1970s onward (see post ‘Always On The Side Of The Children’).

In 1945 Pakenham stood for election in Oxford as the Labour candidate but was beaten by the Tory Quintin Hogg, who later became Lord Hailsham and who performed a valuable service himself concealing the crimes of Dafydd et al for decades. Pakenham’s obituaries maintained that Clement Attlee ‘admired’ Pakenham’s ‘passion for social outcasts and tried to harness it’. Pakenham himself stated that his nervous breakdown in 1940 gave him an understanding of people who had been rejected by society. Pakenham experienced a breakdown at a time when such an event was heavily stigmatised – I get the impression that it was particularly so among men, women were expected to go a bit mad at times by Top Docs and certain others – and I’d be interested to know how this was negotiated when Frank Pakenham entered politics, because a ‘nervous breakdown’ was quite a career-killer in 1940 and people were not allowed to forget that they’d had the temerity to have one.

Pakenham’s obituaries tell us that Attlee was ‘persuaded’ to give Pakenham a peerage, to bring a ‘youthful thinker’ to the sparsely populated Labour Lords benches. Pakenham had really only done one thing until he bagged that peerage, which was to act as William Beveridge’s right hand man when Beveridge compiled his report on the welfare state. Upon receiving a peerage, Longford was immediately appointed a Lords Whip by Attlee, which suggests that Attlee had confidence that Pakenham would be able to twist the arms of other Labour peers. I doubt that Pakenham would have built up sufficient muscle to do that as a result of his short stint working for the ‘Daily Mail’, his time as a stockbroker which resulted in him losing a great deal of money, him being the most hopeless soldier that the British Army had ever seen, having a nervous breakdown or even by his assistance with the Beveridge Report.

However, by the time that Attlee gave Frank Pakenham a peerage, Frank had been visiting prisons two to three times/week for more than 10 years, holding in-depth conversations with those inside. He will have learnt that some inside prison were innocent and that a great many others had knowledge of wrongdoing in high places rather more serious than the wrongdoing for which they had been sentenced. The language that is used to discuss sexual abuse has changed since the 1940s but many aspects of the problem have not changed. As at the present time, people in dominant positions in society were having sex with people in far more vulnerable positions and some of those people will have been having sex with children, including children of the same sex as them. The stakes were considerably higher for people doing this in the 1940s, because homosexuality was illegal and a prison sentence and total social ruin for one and even one’s family a la Oscar Wilde was still the order of the day. What if Frank had learnt a bit about such matters during all that prison visiting?

In 1947, Frank was appointed Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster aka Deputy Foreign Secretary with special responsibility for the British zone in occupied Germany. He made headlines by telling German audiences that the British people forgave them for what had happened during WWII and was later credited by the first West German Chancellor with being among his country’s founding fathers. In May 1948, Pakenham was moved to the lower-profile role of Minister of Civil Aviation and became a Privy Councillor. He continued in this post until May 1951. From May 1951 until the fall of Attlee’s administration in October 1951, Longford was First Lord of the Admiralty. We’re back to Mountbatten and his pals again…

After Labour lost the 1951 General Election, Pakenham became Chairman of the Society for the Mentally Handicapped. At the time the mentally handicapped were usually institutionalised – the parents of such children were nearly always advised to do this by Top Docs – and were frequently treated appallingly in long-stay hospitals whose staff were completely unaccountable. Sexual exploitation, as well as physical assault, was common. Pakenham will have been well-aware of that.

During the period of time that Labour was out of office between Attlee and Wilson, Hugh Gaitskell kept Pakenham  at the centre of Labour Party affairs. Gaitskell and Pakenham had shared rooms at Oxford and Gaitskell used to refer to Pakenham as his ‘oldest friend’. Pakenham remained at the centre of things even when he became Chairman of a City clearing bank, the Anglo-Irish Bank, in 1955, which caused a rumpus in the City because Pakenham had been blackballed from at least one financiers’ club. However during Pakenham’s nine years as Chairman, the Ango-Irish Bank grew more quickly than any other London clearing bank.

During this time, Pakenham also contributed to a series of ‘learned reports’ on penal reform. He Chaired a special Labour Party Committee – Harold Wilson appointed him – which in 1963 published its Report, ‘Crime – A Challenge’. It recommended the abolition of capital punishment, after-care for prisoners and was the basis for the introduction of the parole system in 1965 that remains substantially unchanged today.

In 1961, Pakenham inherited from his older brother Edward the earldom of Longford and from then onward was generally known to the public as Lord Longford.

When Labour returned to power in October 1964 under Harold Wilson, Longford was appointed Lord Privy Seal and Leader of the Lords, despite the fact that Wilson had little respect for him. It was presumed that these Cabinet positions were simply a sop to Gaitskellites. In December 1965 Longford became Secretary of State for the Colonies, continuing as Leader of the House of Lords. After four months at the Colonial Office, he was removed from the post for failing to master his brief and again became Lord Privy Seal in April 1966.

Longford spoke against the 1967 Bill to facilitate abortions which did not endear him to many on the left of the Labour Party.

Wilson often talked about sacking Longford from his Gov’t, which is believed to have led to Longford’s resignation as Lord Privy Seal and Leader of the House of Lords in January 1968, although Longford’s stated reason for resigning from the Gov’t was because of the abandonment of the commitment to increase the school leaving age. Tony Benn, Richard Crossman and Barbara Castle all recorded their relief at Longford’s departure from Gov’t in their diaries. However HM Queen Lilibet continued to hold Longford in high esteem.

After 1968, Lord Longford concentrated on his campaigns and publishing. In the Lords his two main interests were Ireland and prisons policy. Longford thought of Ireland as his home, although he didn’t live there. He was an old friend of Eamon de Valera, who was a Commandant in the 1916 Easter Uprising and later became Taoiseach, 1957-59 and President of Ireland, 1959-73. When in Wilson’s Cabinet, Longford caused a stir by attending the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Easter Rising and being  photographed next to de Valera.

In 1970 Longford became Chairman of Sidgwick and Jackson the publishers. As with his Chairmanship of the Anglo-Irish Bank, business boomed under this utter incompetent who had dirt on a great many in high places. Longford Chaired Sidgwick and Jackson for 10 years and the company benefited in particular from Ted Heath’s books on sailing.

In 1955/56, Longford set up New Bridge Foundation, an organisation that aimed to help prisoners stay in touch with society and integrate them back into it. New Bridge was the first organisation concerned with prisoners’ welfare. In 1990 New Bridge set up ‘Inside Time’ magazine, the only national newspaper for the UK’s prison population. Journalist Rachel Billington, Longford’s daughter, is involved with the title. Longford organised many debates on prison reform in the House of Lords from the 1950s onward.

In 1970, Longford established New Horizon, the first drop-in centre for homeless teenagers. Longford was a regular at New Horizon, dropping in until his death in 2002, chatting to the teenagers who were often rather confused by Longford’s interest in them. Longford could not have failed to have noticed that huge numbers of those homeless teenagers had run away from the care system because they were being grossly abused.

Longford was a leading figure in the National Festival Of Light of 1971, which protested against the commercial exploitation of sex and violence, while advocating the teaching of Christ as the key to recovering moral stability in the nation. Longford was advised against involvement with the National Festival Of Light by his friends, but was said to have been influenced by Mary Whitehouse.

Whitehouse was a ‘morality campaigner’, a former teacher from the West Midlands. Whitehouse was quite preoccupied with the sort of sex education that kids in schools were receiving and the alleged deleterious effects on them as a result of the ‘filth’ that Whitehouse believed that she was watching the BBC screen at the time. Whitehouse was keen on quoting the views of Top Docs and psychiatrists on such matters. These will of course have been those who were colluding with Dafydd and the gang. Whitehouse launched a one-woman campaign against Dr Martin Cole, a sex therapist who produced a sex education film for schools called ‘Growing Up’ (see post ‘The White Heat Of This Revolution’). Whitehouse alleged that Martin Cole’s clinic was a front for prostitution. Cole worked with Dr Philip Cauthery, a sexologist who was also the students’ doctor at Aston University. Cauthery was uncaring and lethal and was felt by many to be one of the key reasons for the high suicide rate among students at Aston. Cauthery sat on the Editorial Board of ‘Forum’ magazine, the small ads of which were being used by paedophiles. Cauthery was never placed under the spotlight in the way that Martin Cole was, almost certainly because Cauthery was a Top Doctor who enjoyed the protection of the medical establishment, whereas Cole was a non-clinical academic.

The National Festival Of Light was co-founded by the journalist and author Malcolm Muggeridge, who was named as a dreadful old groper after he died (see post ‘The Creme de la Creme’) and Evangelical Christian missionaries Peter and Janet Hill were also involved. Cliff Richard was a key supporter of the NFOL from its onset and Archbishop Trevor Huddleston was also a supporter. Cliff was a close friend of Cilla, who was a personal friend of Professor Geoffrey Chamberlain of St George’s Hospital Medical School, during the years when Chamberlain and his colleagues were perpetrating research fraud as well as colluding with organised child abuse, including the crimes of Dafydd’s gang (see post ‘Now Then…’). Trevor Huddleston was the subject of allegations that he indecently assaulted children. Huddleston didn’t deny the allegations but simply packaged his behaviour as being harmless and ‘innocent’. See post ‘Radical Leicester And Some Other Free Radicals’.

Grassroots support for the NFOL came from Anglicans, Baptists, Plymouth Brethren and Pentecostal Church denominations. Dafydd has longstanding links with the Anglican Church (see post ‘Amber Rudd, The Miners’ Strike And A Memory Jogged’) and the Welsh Baptist Church (see post ‘A Serious Moral Collapse’).

A working committee was established with Colonel Orde Dobbie (a Social Services administrator), Eddie Stride (a former shop steward and trade unionist, later the Rector of Christ Church Spitalfields), Gordon Landreth (General Secretary of the Evangelical Alliance), Rev. Jean Darnall (Pentecostal Evangelist), Nigel Goodwin (a professional Christian actor) and Steve Stevens (a missionary aviator). Additional input was received from a larger Council of Reference which included well-known politicians, lawyers, doctors, trades unionists, bishops, ministers and other public figures such as actors Dora Bryan and David Kossoff.

Dora Bryan hobnobbed with all the best luvvies who ended up in disgrace, including the cast of the Carry On films and when she was older, Michael Barrymore. David Kossoff became involved with the NFOL as a result of his anti-drugs campaigning which he took up when his son Paul developed drug problems. Paul Kossoff played with the rock band ‘Free’ and died from complications resulting from his drug use in 1976.

On 25 September, approximately 45,000 people assembled in Trafalgar Square for the NFOL rally. A number of statements and proclamations were read out and received with applause by the crowd. Some called for a halt to the commercial exploitation of sex and violence. They warned that the ‘positive values’ of love and respect for the individual and the family were under serious threat. At the conclusion of the speeches, the crowd began to wind through the streets to Hyde Park, singing Christian songs as they went. In Hyde Park they joined those unable to get into Trafalgar Square. The Hyde Park rally started at 4 pm, where a number of Christian music groups proclaimed the same message. Among the performers were Cliff Richard, Dana and Graham Kendrick. Rev. Jean Darnall led the rally. The main speaker in the park was Hollywood street evangelist Arthur Blessitt.

In the days that followed perhaps the warmest support came from Roman Catholic periodicals.

After 1971 the NFL committee continued to meet and gradually evolved into the Christian organisation Christian Action Research and Education (CARE), changing its name in 1983.

Longford’s anti-porn campaigning made him the subject of derision and he was labelled by the press as Lord Porn when he and former prison doctor Christine Temple-Saville set out on a wide-ranging tour of sex industry establishments in the early 1970s to compile a self-funded report, published in 1972.

Like Longford, Christine Temple-Saville will have known exactly who was sitting in prisons and how many of them had been framed with the assistance of her Top Doc colleagues (and possibly her as well) after they were witnesses to the abuse rings operating within children’s homes/other care settings. Temple-Saville will have known about Dafydd, if she didn’t actually know him personally. The press made much of Longford’s visits to strip clubs in Copenhagen and he was accused of enormous hypocrisy.

Despite the hilarity which Longford’s Report caused in so many quarters, in 1972 Lilibet made him a Knight of the Garter. That’s the Lilibet who’s Woman-of-the-Bedchamber Dame Mary Morrison was the sister of Sir Peter Morrison, who spent a lifetime molesting kids in care.

It was Lord Longford’s support for Myra Hindley to be released from prison on parole which made him a household name and led to the soubriquet Lord Wrongford from the tabloid press, which largely opposed Hindley being released. Longford’s contact with Hindley became public knowledge in 1972 and allegations of hypocrisy were frequently made against him. In 1977, 11 years after Hindley was convicted of two murders and being an accessory to a third murder, Longford appeared on television and spoke openly of his belief that Hindley should now be considered for parole as she had shown clear signs of progress in prison and now served long enough for the Parole Board to assess her suitability for release from prison. He also supported Hindley’s claims that her role in the Moors Murders was merely that of an accomplice and that she had only taken part due to Brady’s abuse and threats. There is considerable evidence to suggest that this was true but the facts concerning Hindley’s case were lost among the hysteria, the downright lies, the corrupt practices of the police officers and lawyers involved and of course the extreme distress of the parents of the dead children who were never given the support that they should have had.

In 1985, Longford condemned the Parole Board’s decision not to consider Hindley’s release for another five years as ‘barbaric’ and his campaign for Hindley continued even after ‘she admitted to two more murders in 1986’. Hindley’s ‘admission’ to two more murders in 1986 has become part of the mythology of Hindley. I don’t think that she did ‘admit’ to two more murders in 1986. The detectives who had worked on the case originally – some of whom were corrupt – visited Hindley out of the blue in prison at the end of 1986, told her that they ‘knew’ that Brady had murdered more children and asked her if she knew where those children were buried. Hindley explained that she did not, neither had she witnessed the further two alleged murders. However she agreed to accompany a police team onto  Saddleworth Moor to show the police the places that Brady used to enjoy visiting lest the police wanted to excavate.

Myra Hindley accompanied the police to Saddleworth Moor in appalling winter weather, in conditions that were  not conducive to a search for human remains. She told the police that it was so long since she was there that she did not recognise the landscape. The police ‘search’ was accompanied by full media coverage. At the same time, TV journos approached the father of one of the children murdered/thought to be murdered by Brady and/or Hindley and asked him if he wanted to kill Hindley. The distressed father obediently produced a kitchen knife from his bag for the cameras while the journos purchased him pints.

The sudden interest of Peter Topping, a clapped-out dodgy Greater Manchester policeman, in Myra Hindley and Ian Brady once more at the very end of 1986 has never been explained. Neither has it ever been explained why Topping had an overwhelming urge to conduct a police search of Saddleworth Moor at the one time of year when a search should not be conducted. No-one explained why the media were told what was happening and invited to the scene, particularly as much was made of the risk to Hindley’s life from well-wishers while she was on the moor.

The year before Topping had the overwhelming urge to visit Hindley in prison, tell her that she had helped Brady commit two more murders and ask her if she would agree to visit Saddleworth Moor in a blizzard, in front of TV cameras while people were asked to describe to journos how they were going to murder her, Brady had been transferred from Gartree Prison in Leicester to Ashworth Hospital on Merseyside. Dafydd’s mates were running Ashworth at the time and the place was full of witnesses to/victims of the wrongdoing of Dafydd and his accomplices (see post ‘Security, Security’). Dafydd’s mates also ran Gartree Prison and after many years spontaneously declared Brady insane rather than ‘wicked’ and had him transferred to Dafydd’s inner sanctum at Ashworth.

I can remember events very well at the time because Dafydd et al were fully engaged in their efforts to deal with another Evil Young Woman  – me. The very people who were busy ‘treating’ Ian Brady in Ashworth were fabricating evidence, perjuring themselves and holding ‘case conferences’ without my knowledge to which people whom I had never met were invited to tell the assembled company how dangerous I was. I had been illegally imprisoned in the North Wales Hospital Denbigh in Dec 1986, just days before  Myra was in the news once more…

When this saga was being played out on TV – with all us patients in Denbigh watching it – I dared proffer my opinion that this was an unedifying spectacle and I was a little fed up of hearing corrupt Top Docs denouncing people as evil and dangerous. An Angel called Ingrid shouted at me that Myra was ‘evil’, that as a student Angel Ingrid had watched the trial of Brady and Hindley at Chester Assizes and that everyone in the court was in tears, including Ingrid. I am sure that listening to murder trials take its toll, but Ingrid was at the time of her histrionics in my direction overseeing a group of patients illegally imprisoned by people who were running a paedophile/trafficking ring. Some of those patients were held in a dungeon.

The lawyers involved in the trial of the Moors Murderers included Attorney General Lord Elwyn-Jones, Lord Emlyn Hooson and Sir Ronald Waterhouse. All three of these people were bent, knew about Jeremy Thorpe’s shenanigans but kept quiet and also concealed the crimes of Dafydd and the gang in north Wales/Cheshire.

Why Brady and Hindley’s trial took place at Chester no-one has been able to explain. They didn’t live near Chester, neither did the murder victims and the murders were not committed near Chester. After the event Peter Topping maintained that it was to ensure that they received a ‘fair trial’. How that was supposed to happen when Topping and some of his colleagues were bent cops, when they were receiving and passing information on to people known to the accused before the trial and by the trial being held in a location known even then as being the hub of legal and judicial corruption as a result of a longstanding paedophile gang operating in the area was not clarified.

Dafydd and the gang had links with corrupt officers in Greater Manchester Police and other corrupt professionals in the Manchester region (see posts ‘Top Of The Cops’ and ‘A Stalker’s Network’.)

For the record: Ian Brady was a deeply unpleasant man. He freely admitted to a series of crimes, including the murders of three children but always denied any involvement in the murders of two others which were attributed to him. He expressed the view that the police and legal system were corrupt and that the Top Docs were a bunch of lying idiots who didn’t know their arses from their elbows. Myra Hindley was abused as a girl and experienced violence at Brady’s hands. Had her trial occurred these days, much would be made of Myra’s very difficult and abusive upbringing. Had I been Myra Hindley I don’t think that any of that would have caused me to assist in the abuse and murder of three children, but I’m not Myra Hindley, I don’t know what it was like to be her and because so many people involved in her ‘assessment’, the investigation of the crimes with which she was charged and the continued ‘assessment’ of her after she was convicted were corrupt as fuck and involved in serious crime as well as organised abuse themselves, I am not sure that much of what we read about Evil Myra was true.

I have in my possession 10,000 documents compiled by the associates of those involved with Brady and Hindley’s case which clearly demonstrate perjury, conspiracy and attempts to pervert the course of justice over a period of many years with regard to me because I had complained about Gwynne the lobotomist, Dafydd and Tony Francis. It was documented that I had stabbed people, strangled them, ‘served a prison sentence for attacking someone with a knife’, held an Angel hostage and sexually assaulted a psychiatrist. The documents are accompanied by other documents written by the same people admitting that none of these allegations are true but nonetheless contain detailed plans of how I will be framed for these offences. There are also letters to ‘witnesses’ instructing them with regard to what they need to say about me in court. There is even a letter signed by Patricia Gaskell, the former hospital solicitor for Ysbyty Gwynedd, asking for ‘more nurses down the police station to complain about [me] please’.

When Evil Myra was told that she had been involved in two more murders and was taken to Saddleworth Moor to identify the locations of the bodies, Alison Taylor had recently expressed repeated concerns about the abuse of kids in care in north Wales, Mary Wynch had made legal history by successfully suing Dafydd and the gang (see post ‘The Mary Wynch Case – Details’) and I had begun complaining and was refusing to go away as well.

In July 1986 Iain Muir, Deputy Headmaster of the Bryn Alyn Community School, was convicted in the Crown Court at Mold of unlawful sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 16, for which he received a sentence of six months imprisonment. The victim was resident at the school for just over three years and was 15 years old when she left.

In October 1986 DCS Gwynne Owen’s report to the Crown Prosecution Service following concerns raised by Alison Taylor and complaints of abuse from children criticised Alison Taylor and accused her of ‘manipulating’ people to make complaints.

In Dec 1986, Gwynedd County Council informally suspended Alison from her job as a social worker, Dafydd abducted and illegally imprisoned me on 13 Dec 1986, Evil Myra was taken to Saddleworth Moor on Dec 16 and was suddenly all over the media once more.

On 18 December 1986, Professor Oliver Brooke, Prof of Paediatrics at St George’s Hospital Medical School, pleaded guilty to six counts of procuring and distributing child pornography at Kingston Crown Court and was sentenced to one year in prison. Brooke was only charged with a small number of offences but was in reality a key player in a pan-European child abuse ring of which Dafydd’s gang in north Wales were a part.

Now perhaps Dafydd would like to tell us all why Peter Topping decided that the world had to be reminded of Evil Myra once again just when Ollie Brooke was up in court.

Lord Longford will have known of Evil Myra’s abusive childhood and he will have known that those involved with her case and shouting about Evil Myra were running a paedophile gang themselves. Longford remained schtum.

Evil Myra’s public appearance on Dec 16 1986 further strengthened media and public opinion that any reports of progress by Hindley in prison were ‘nothing more than a ploy to boost her chances of gaining release from prison’. Well she was Evil Myra who Manipulated wasn’t she. Just like Alison Taylor and I Manipulated.

Whilst all this was going on, Douglas Hurd was Home Secretary.

In 1990, David Waddington the Home Secretary ruled that ‘life should mean life’ for Evil Myra, who had been told by earlier Home Secretaries and High Court judges that she would have to serve a minimum of 25 and then 30 years before being considered for parole. These were the Waddington and the previous Home Secretaries and High Court judges who colluded with Dafydd’s gang as well as the linked gangs across the UK/Europe, including the gang in south London of which Brooke was a leading light.

Hindley was not informed of Waddington’s decision until December 1994, and Longford later expressed his ‘disgust’ at this ruling. The next three Home Secretaries all agreed with Waddington’s ruling. They also all colluded with Dafydd et al. Hindley appealed against her whole life tariff in the High Court in December 1997, November 1998 and March 2000, but each appeal was rejected. In Dec 1997 and Nov 1998 the Waterhouse Inquiry was underway. The Waterhouse Report was published in Feb 2000, one month before Evil Myra had yet another appeal rejected. Longford maintained that Evil Myra was a changed woman who was no longer a threat to society and had qualified for parole. He regularly commented, along with several other supporters of Evil Myra, that she was a ‘political prisoner’ who was being kept in prison for votes, to serve the interests of a succession of Home Secretaries and their respective Gov’ts. This was true, although the general public would still have been utterly unsympathetic if they had known. But what would the general public have said if they had been made aware that scores of the lawyers, judges, Top Docs and police officers directly involved with decisions regarding Evil Myra were colluding with child abuse, including the murders of witnesses, themselves?

In March 1996, Longford backed up Evil Myra’s claim in an Oxford University magazine that she was still in prison so that the Conservative Gov’t – trailing in the opinion polls since the autumn of 1992 – would win more votes. This claim was met with anger by the mothers of two of the Moors Murders victims, including Ann West, who remained at the centre of the campaign to ensure that Evil Myra was never released and once again vowed to kill Evil Myra if she was set free. Longford regularly condemned the media for ‘manipulating’ West and feeding her desire for revenge and was particularly critical of ‘The Sun’ newspaper for its ‘exploitation’ of West – referring to her numerous television and newspaper interviews in which she argued against any suggestion of Evil Myra ever being paroled, often threatening to kill her if she was ever set free. In 1986, Longford reportedly told West that unless she forgave Evil Myra and Brady, she would not go to Heaven when she died.

This is all deeply ironic. The tabloid press undoubtedly manipulated the parents of Brady’s and Hindley’s victims but then so did everyone involved in the cases, including Longford.  It would have been more sensible of Longford to have kept his thoughts to himself re the need for Ann West to forgive Hindley and Brady because his relationship with Ann West was nowhere near good enough for him to make such suggestions without causing great upset. Interestingly enough, for many years, staff of the mental health services stressed to me that I was in a bad way because I hadn’t ‘forgiven’ Dafydd et al for their oh so minor ‘misjudgements’ with regard to me. Not only were Dafydd et al guilty of a great deal more than a few ‘misjudgements’ but documents now in my possession show that while people were busy telling me that poor old Dafydd never meant any harm at all and gosh I really was over-reacting, those very people were at the time conspiring with Dafydd to lie and perjure themselves in order to have me banged up for a very long time because they were so worried at the prospect of Brown and me one day publishing all this. By that time, the main reason why I wasn’t ‘recovering’ was that I was constantly being arrested for ludicrous offences, I was being actively denied effective treatment for a mood disorder and my property (and occasionally me) was being attacked by meatheads who had been put up to this by Dafydd et al.

Every time that I was told that my ‘outbursts’ and ‘baseless accusations’ had ‘upset’ staff, I was happy to write and apologise. Those letters are among my documentation as well. Along with the documents detailing the lies that would then be told about me in Court, the gloating notes regarding which members of staff I ‘trusted’ and who could therefore be relied upon to persuade me or even people close to me to drop complaints about the ‘service’. I have seen the medical records of another mental health patient from north Wales who, like me, was repeatedly arrested after complaining about the ‘services’. He too wrote apologies to staff whom he was told were ‘terrified’ of him and whom he had ‘upset’. His letters of apology were attached to fabricated accounts of his ‘crimes’, giving the impression that he was apologising for committing serious offences. This man told me that one of his letters of apology was ‘virtually dictated’ to him by Dr Tony Francis.

Get over it world, these were not caring Top Docs and Angels who’s patience was being tried to the limits by dangerous patients, they were a criminal gang. Those in Gov’t throughout the many years that this criminal idiocy continued knew that.

Evil Myra died in November 2002, having never been paroled. Lord Longford had died the previous year.

Longford seemed to be very confused where homosexuality was concerned. In 1956, he launched the first Parliamentary debate in support of the Wolfenden Report, which recommended the decriminalisation of homosexuality. Longford had been a staunch public supporter of Lord Montagu and his lover Peter Wildeblood after the two were jailed for breaking anti-gay laws in the early 1950s and he visited them regularly in prison. In his later years however, Longford became a staunch opponent of gay rights and in the 1960s he stated that homosexuality was ‘nauseating’ and that, regardless of any change in the law, it was ‘utterly wrongful’.

But then Dafydd and Gwynne at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh were subjecting gay patients to ‘aversion therapy’ to cure them of their homosexuality years after homosexuality was decriminalised, while they ran a paedophile/trafficking ring targeting boys in particular.

In the mid-1980s, Longford was a vocal supporter of the introduction of Section 28 by Thatcher’s Conservative Gov’t – despite Thatcher’s close friends Sir Peter Morrison and George Thomas being homosexual paedophiles –  and, during the Parliamentary debates, Longford famously stated his opinion that homosexuals are ‘handicapped people’. Section 28 became law in 1988, but Longford continued to support it and fought against its repeal when New Labour came to power in 1997. Section 28 was repealed in 2003.

Longford also opposed the Labour Gov’ts plans to equalise the age of consent for gay men (at that time 18) with that of heterosexual men (16), and in a 1998 Lords debate Longford remarked that:

…if someone seduced my daughter, it would be damaging and horrifying but not fatal. She would recover, marry and have lots of children… On the other hand, if some elderly, or not so elderly, schoolmaster seduced one of my sons and taught him to be a homosexual, he would ruin him for life. That is the fundamental distinction.

Is it any wonder that with this sort of inconsistency and confusion, Longford colluded with the crimes of Dafydd et al?

The age of consent for gay men was equalised at 16 in 2000. In the years before that, there were TV debates regarding the matter. The subject was discussed on daytime shows such as ‘Kilroy’. I was watching those shows in the mid-1990s because Dafydd was regularly turning up on them being touted as an ‘expert’. I saw the ‘Kilroy’ programme which discussed reducing the age of consent for homosexuality and it was bizarre. A collection of the truly bigoted had been invited including one Top Doctor – not Dafydd amazingly enough – who reassured Kilroy and the assembled company that homosexuality was a ‘mental illness’ and was not found in the animal kingdom (it is). There was one Tory MP who argued against reducing the age of consent – a young Nigel Evans, the Tory MP for the Ribble Valley, who grew up in Swansea. Years later Nigel Evans came out as gay and then famously stood trial in 2014 after a number of young men alleged that he had sexually assaulted them.

There was only one guest on the ‘Kilroy’ programme who dared support the reduction of the age of consent for gays to 16 and who faced the most dreadful hostility for doing so and that was Edwina Currie. I was so impressed with Edwina’s performance on the show that I wrote to her. I received a letter back from Edwina so quickly that I have never worked out how it happened. I posted the letter to Edwina at her Commons address from Bethesda and I received a reply as far as I can remember the next day. It was a complete mystery to me as to how that could have happened. I am now even more intrigued because I now know that when I was living at that address at that time I and my friends were under surveillance by the security services because of our challenges to and interest in Dafydd and the gang.

When that episode of ‘Kilroy’ was screened, Edwina, Nigel Evans and indeed Kilroy himself knew about at least some of Dafydd’s criminal activities in relation to the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal, which was in the news at the time.

Longford’s highly publicised condemnation of homosexuality in the late 1980s made him a regular target of the comedian Julian Clary, who often satirised Longford. When Julian Clary was much younger and a new face on the comedy circuit, he used to joke about the homosexual bullying which he maintained was endemic at his school. In one media interview he described his school as a living nightmare but stated that he felt unable to tell his parents what was happening to him because it was a prestigious school and they’d made sacrifices to send him there. More recently that school has been named as being part of a child abuse ring. Julian Clary has now gone very quiet about that school and after it was named in the media simply observed that he didn’t like it there very much. Clary’s mum was a probation officer and his dad was a policeman.

Frank Pakenham’s extended family are as interesting as he was. His elder brother Edward, from whom Frank inherited his earldom, was the 6th Earl Longford. Edward went to Eton and Christ Church, Oxford. At Eton he became an Irish Nationalist, taking inspiration from the Easter Rising in 1916 and the Russian Revolution of 1917. Edward learned Irish and adopted the name Eamon de Longphort. His political views made him unpopular at both Eton and Christ Church. Edward was an Anglo-Catholic who never left the Church of Ireland.

On 13 November 1946 Edward was nominated by the Taoiseach, Eamon de Valera, as a member of 5th Seanad Eireann, although he was not re-appointed to the 6th Seanad.

Lord Edward Longford became Chairman of the Gate Theatre in Dublin in 1930 and continued to work for the theatre until 1936, when he founded the Longford Players. He often collaborated with his wife, Christine, with whom he was also responsible for redecorating Pakenham Hall, now Tullynally Castle, in Chinese style. Pakenham Hall was often the scene of gatherings of Oxford-educated intellectuals such as John Betjeman, Evelyn Waugh and Maurice Bowra.

Frank and Edward’s dad Thomas Packenham, 5th Earl of Longford and his wife Lady Mary, had other children including Lady Julia, later Lady Julia Mount. Lady Julia Mount was the mother of Sir Ferdinand Mount, one of Thatcher’s favourite ‘thinkers’. Ferdinand Mount attended Eton and then Christ Church, Oxford. Mount worked at Conservative Party HQ as Head of the Number 10 Policy Unit, 1982–83, under Thatch and played a significant part in devising the 1983 General Election manifesto.

Mount was Editor of the TLS, 1991–2002 and then became a regular contributor to ‘Standpoint’ magazine. He wrote for ‘The Sunday Times’ and in 2005 joined The Daily Torygraph as a commentator. Sir Ferdinand serves as Chairman of the Friends of the British Library and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1991.

Ferdinand’s books include: ‘The Subversive Family: An Alternative History of Love and Marriage’ (1982); ‘Umbrella: A Pacific Tale’ (199); and ‘The Liquidator’ (1995).

The ‘Daily Mail’ coverage of Frank Longford’s death told us that Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, the Archbishop of Westminster, paid tribute to Lord Longford’s loyalty to his faith: ‘I remember Lord Longford as a great friend and a man not afraid to be different. He was an outstanding Christian witness who devoted his entire life to the Catholic faith…’ Tony Benn, who served in Harold Wilson’s Gov’t with Lord Longford, 1964-68, remembered the peer as a ‘kindly and thoughtful’ man who served the nation for many decades: ‘He had a very long and distinguished career as a Catholic socialist statesman and a minister. His concern for people, and for prisoners in particular, was genuine. He simply did not believe that people should be allowed to rot in jail….He was a very kind and thoughtful man. I think he will be remembered as a very respected and well thought of man with a great conscience. He was just a very decent guy’. Juliet Lyon, Director of the Prison Reform Trust, said Lord Longford was a ‘remarkable’ man who was not afraid to stand up for his beliefs: ‘Lord Longford had a rare belief in humanity and a determination to stand up for people who could not stand up for themselves. Essentially, he refused to see people who had done terrible things as terrible people.’ Frances Crook, Director of the Howard League for Penal Reform, said she would miss Lord Longford both professionally and personally: ‘Firstly, he was one of the bravest people I have ever met because he would stand up and challenge what everybody else was saying. Secondly, he was compassionate and reminded people that nobody is beyond redemption. And thirdly he was also a wonderful lunch companion and could drink anyone under the table’.

Tony Blair said of Lord Longford after his death: ‘He was a great man of passionate integrity and humanity, and a great reformer committed to modernising the law, while also caring deeply for individuals’.

Longford had a big family and many of his children – Harriet Harman’s cousins – became well-known/influential or married well-known/influential people.

Lady Antonia Fraser is probably the most famous of Longford’s children. From 1956 until 1977, Antonia was married to Sir Hugh Fraser, the Roman Catholic Conservative Unionist MP for Stafford, who was a friend of the American Kennedy family. They had six children: three sons, Benjamin, Damian and Orlando; and three daughters, Rebecca Fitzgerald, wife of barrister Edward Fitzgerald QC, Flora Fraser and Natasha Fraser-Cavassoni. Edward Fitzgerald QC is joint Head of Doughty Street Chambers. Doughty Street Chambers contains Theo Huckle QC, the former Counsel-General of Wales, who had sight of the 10,000 documents in my possession detailing serious crime on the part of every agency with which I was involved over 25 years but did not act (see post ‘Theo Huckle QC’). Another leading light at Doughty Street Chambers is Helena Kennedy, who during her many years of working with Wimmin In Prison and Secure Hospitals has never uttered a word regarding the organised abuse of people in care settings (see post ‘Close Your Eyes And Make A WISH’), not even when she worked with Professor Nigel Eastman of St George’s Hospital Medical School, who was concealing the crimes of Dafydd, Oliver Brooke et al (see post ‘Eve Was Framed – As Were A Lot Of Other People’).

Flora Fraser married Peter Soros, nephew of George Soros. Benjamin Fraser works for JP Morgan, Damian Fraser is the Managing Director of the investment banking firm UBS AG (formerly S.G. Warburg) in Mexico and Orlando Fraser is a barrister specialising in commercial law.

Lady Antonia’s husband Hugh Fraser was a younger son of the 14th Lord Lovat. He was educated at Ampleforth College – now the focus of a major abuse investigation – and Balliol College, Oxford, where he was President of the Oxford Union. He also attended the Sorbonne. Fraser was elected MP for Stone in 1945, which later became Stafford and Stone from 1950 until 1983 and then Stafford until his death. He served as an MP continuously from 1945 until 1984.

A paedophile ring operated in the Stafford area for many years and the abuse of children in care in that location finally became public in the 1980s as a result of the Pindown Scandal (see previous posts). At least one foster carer who had raised concerns about children in care in the Stafford area being abused by social work staff found himself arrested and framed for child abuse himself. Fraser had been a member of Harold Macmillans Gov’t at the time of the Profumo Affair (see post ‘In Memoriam – Bronwen, Lady Astor’).

Hugh Fraser was the presumed target of an IRA car bomb on 23 October 1975. The bomb had been fitted to one of Fraser’s cars outside his home at Holland Park. A noted cancer researcher, Professor Gordon Hamilton Fairley, a neighbour of the Frasers, was walking past the car when the bomb exploded prematurely, killing him instantly. Fraser’s wife, Lady Antonia, and Caroline Kennedy – the daughter of John F. Kennedy – who was a guest of the Frasers and visiting London to complete an art course at Sotheby’s, would have been in the car when the bomb detonated had it not done so prematurely.

An article about the bomb blast was published in ‘The New York Times’, Oct 24 1974. It stated that ‘Miss Kennedy…was described by Mr. Fraser as “very shaken”… “I am fine,” she said. “I am sure this has nothing to do with me.” Prof. Gordon Hamilton Fairley…was killed…The leukemia specialist, who lived in the square, was professor in the department of medical oncology at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London…Recent work by Professor Fairley included treatment of acute myeloid leukemia… The work was performed with Prof. Peter Alexander, an expert in tumor immunology at Royal Marsden Hospital in London. “I can think of no greater catastrophe for clinical research than his loss,” said Professor Alexander….It was evident that Miss Kennedy and Mr. Fraser barely escaped serious injury. The bomb was planted under the front wheel of Mr. Fraser’s red Jaguar and exploded at 8:53. The 57‐year‐old M.P…was about to drive Miss Kennedy to her art course at Sotheby’s. He had stopped to telephone another Member of Parliament, Jonathan Aitken, when the bomb went off. “Normally I would have been in the car when this happened but I was on the telephone,” he said. “I normally leave the house between 8:15 and 8:30 each day.”…It was not immediately clear why Mr. Fraser was singled out. He is a well‐known member of the Roman Catholic community but has not taken a prominent role in the Irish question, except to condemn terrorism at various times. Mr. Fraser is also a stanch supporter of Israel.

Scotland Yard’s Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Ernest Bond, said: “We are convinced that Mr. Fraser was the target, not Caroline Kennedy. It is more than likely that the views Mr. Fraser has expressed from time to time against terrorism was the reason for this attack.”

Later in the day, Mr. Fraser received a standing ovation at the House of Commons and said in a voice choking with emotion: “We can all agree that every politician in this house is at risk, from whatever party – and all parties are determined to extirpate terrorism whatever the cost.”

He paid a special tribute to Professor Fairley, saying he had “probably done more for cancer research in this country than any other man.”

“It might be borne in mind by the public that this innocent victim in this case was a most distinguished man and has contributed perhaps more to the saving of human life than perhaps anyone in this House or in the whole medical profession.” Mr. Fraser said….

Tonight there was widespread reaction to Professor Fairley’s death. Dr. Nigel Kemp, honorary scientific secretary of the Cancer Research Campaign, said that the professor, who was in his mid‐forties, was virtually irreplaceable….’

In recent years, it has been suggested that some of those allegedly targeted by the IRA and other terrorist groups may have been targeted because of their involvement in child abuse and that those behind the attacks may not have always been the terrorist cells to whom the attacks were attributed. Hugh Fraser will have known about the child abuse ring in Stafford, his father-in-law Lord Longford definitely knew about it and John F. Kennedy and his associates have also been accused of involvement in some rather sordid activities. David Ormsby-Gore aka Lord Harlech met a sticky end after he served as Ambassador to the US while JFK was President, as did many members of his family. The Ormsby-Gores didn’t seem to have a habit of dying young and in suspicious circumstances until then. See post ’95 Glorious Years’ for details.

As for the innocent Top Doc who was accidentally killed when the bomb detonated ‘prematurely’ – he worked at Barts, which was also involved in the facilitating of an abuse/trafficking ring thanks to the presence of Dafydd’s mate Professor Linford Rees in that institution (see post ‘A Galaxy Of Talent’) and the previous presence of Lady Juliet Bingley (see previous posts’). Furthermore Gordon Fairley’s colleagues at the Cancer Research Campaign were involved in large scale research fraud (see post ‘Oh Lordy, It’s CR UK’).

That bomb could have been targeting any number of people.

Sir Hugh Fraser remained in Parliament until his death in March 1984 and Bill Cash retained the seat for the Tories at the subsequent by-election.

In 1975, Lady Antonia began an affair with Top Swearer Harold Pinter, who was then married to the actress Vivien Merchant. In 1977, after Lady Antonia had been living with Pinter for two years, the Frasers’ union was legally dissolved. Merchant spoke about her distress publicly to the press, but she resisted divorcing Pinter. In 1980, after Merchant signed divorce papers, Lady Antonia and the Sweary One married.

Harold Pinter talked posh but famously originated from Hackney. He frequented leftie luvvie circles and the world was entertained when it became known back in the 1980s that Lady Antonia and Harold were planning the revolution over a series of dinner parties at their place in Holland Park. I wonder why that particular plan failed.Holland Park home | Holland Park Lifestyle | Pinterest

Citizen Smith

Swearing Harold found time for an affair with Joan Bakewell in his busy timetable.

In a review published in 1958, borrowing from the subtitle of The Lunatic View: A Comedy of Menace, a play by David Crompton, critic Irving Wardle called Pinter’s early plays ‘comedy of menace’, a label that people have applied repeatedly to Pinter’s work. Such plays begin with an apparently innocent situation that becomes both threatening and ‘absurd’ as Pinter’s characters behave in ways often perceived as inexplicable by his audiences and one another.

The Earl of Longford
Lord Longford 4 Allan Warren.jpg

Harold Pinter was a friend of Tom Stoppard, who was married to Top Doctor Miriam Stoppard of ‘Dear Miriam’ fame, before Tom ran off with Felicity Kendal and then hit gold with Sabrina Guinness, Carlo’s old flame, whom it was alleged turned down Carlo’s offer of marriage. Probably because she was older and rather sharper than Lady Di and knew what she would be letting herself in for.

I always think of Miriam as being someone who answered the readers’ problems in the ‘TV Times’ magazine – I think that they took Miriam on when they got rid of Katie Boyle – and then the ‘Daily Mirror’ and who wrote owners’ manuals for menopausal women, dispensing bad advice in the process, but there are far more sinister aspects to Miriam’s CV.

Miriam was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Her father Sidney was a nurse and her mother Jenny worked for the Newcastle school dinners service. Male nurses were a rare thing in those days, except for in psychiatric nursing, so it is probable that this was the field in which Miriam’s father was employed. Newcastle and the surrounding area was the location of the paedophile/trafficking gang which supplied Dafydd’s gang with staff and children and the psychiatric services in Newcastle were a key part of the gang (see post ‘The Newcastle-upon-Tyne Connection?’).

Miriam trained as a nurse at the Newcastle General Hospital (Royal Free Medical School) and went on to study medicine at King’s College Durham (which became Newcastle University in 1963). It is unusual for nurses to subsequently train as Top Doctors, although these days it does sometimes happen. When Miriam did that it was virtually unheard of, not least because of the dreadful attitudes that Top Docs held and often still hold toward Angels. There were only a very, very small number of examples and in every case the Angel and/or her family knew of enormous wrongdoing in high places and quietly used that as leverage.

So Miriam, how did you or your dad or one of your close friends get to know the monster of the medical establishment who was based in Newcastle, Lord John Walton, who spent his entire career concealing the crimes of Dafydd and his associates in Newcastle (see post ‘Little Things Hitting Each Other’)?

It just got better and better for Miriam. After qualifying as a Top Doc, Miriam worked at the Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary and then as a senior registrar in dermatology at Bristol Royal Infirmary. Where Miriam will have got to know the Bristol contingent who propped up Dafydd’s partner-in-crime Dr D.G.E. Wood.

Miriam became Research Director and then Managing Director for Syntex, the drug company most well-known for producing the oral contraceptive pill. Syntex’s submission of a fraudulent toxicology analysis of naproxen largely led to the Food and Drug Administration’s uncovering of extensive scientific misconduct by  Industrial Bio-Test Laboratories in 1976. They never mentioned that in the ‘TV Times’ on the ‘Dear Miriam’ page.

Miriam became well known during the 1970s and 1980s as a television presenter on scientific and medical programmes such as ‘Don’t Ask Me’ and ‘Where There’s Life’.

‘Don’t Ask Me’ was a science show made by Yorkshire Television which ran from 1974 to 1978. It attempted to answer science-based questions and contributors included Magnus Pyke, Rob Buckman and David Bellamy. Those behind the scenes included Adam Hart-Davis. Buckman was one of those Top Docs who was a member of ‘Footlights’ in the late 1960s and worked with John Cleese and Graham Chapman (who had a penchant for picking up teenaged boys for sex as discussed in previous posts) and who starred in things like ‘The Pink Medicine Show’ in the 1970s.

Rob Buckman emigrated to Toronto, Canada, in 1985 and initially stayed with his cousin, journalist Barbara Amiel, who was married to Conrad Black, the press baron who at one time owned the Daily Torygraph. Black went to prison for fraud in 2007. In 1994 Buckman was named Canada’s Humanist of the Year and he was President of the Humanist Association of Canada and Chair of the Advisory Board on Bioethics of the International Humanist and Ethical UnionBuckman was a founding member of the Centre for Inquiry Canada. Buckman practiced medical oncology at the Princess Margaret Hospital, held a Chair in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto and held an adjunct Chair at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the US state of Texas. Buckman died in his sleep while flying from London to Toronto on 9 October 2011. The cause was unknown, he was 63 and remarkably few questions were asked about that death. Buckman pegged out just as Operation Pallial re-opened the investigation into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal and the Macur Review of the Waterhouse Inquiry approached.

Rob Buckman undoubtedly knew about much of the abuse and wrongdoing which has been discussed on this blog, but he kept quiet, which was just as well because his brother Laurence Buckman, a GP, was Chairman of the BMA’s GP’s Committee, 2007-13. Buckman was educated at University College School in Hampstead – Trumpers’ husband Alan Barker was Headmaster there. It was Trumpers who appointed Jimmy Savile to the management board of Broadmoor when she was a junior Health Minister (see post ’95 Glorious Years!’). Laurence Buckman studied medicine at UCH and is the London President of the Jewish Medical Association.

It was when Laurence Buckman was a ‘negotiator’ for the BMA that the GPs laughable contract leaving them far richer despite doing less work was ‘negotiated’. Buckman became very upset when it was alleged that it was he who had helped bag the GPs big bucks. Buckman sought to expel this notion in an interview with the ‘Jewish Chronicle’ in 2009. It was stated that ‘He is regarded as a tough negotiator at the Department of Health. It was no coincidence that he was once dubbed “Red Robbo in a white coat”, a description he did not enjoy any more than when the editor of ‘The Lancet ‘said his behaviour was “shameful” and that he was guilty of “insulting cynicism about politicians and their constituents”. To which he responds: “If you put your head above the parapet, you must expect to be shot at.”

Well Laurence, I and my friends were threatened with guns and being shot at because we dared put our heads up above the parapet when we complained about your people-trafficking colleagues. I don’t like people threatening to kill me and then trying to do it, so now you’ve got this blog. Furthermore, you’ve been somewhat rash putting your own head above the parapet and mouthing off constantly about the nation’s hard-working and modestly paid GPs and stating in that interview with the ‘Jewish Chronicle’ that ‘there are 8000 fewer people dead’ as a result of that GPs contract. You had no evidence for such a statement and one look at what has happened to general practice since you gave that interview demonstrates that you are a lying bastard.Peeling Oniontown - VICE

Laurence Buckman got his ‘first experience of NHS and Health Department bureaucracy in 1992 when he joined the BMA GPs committee’. In 1992, the Gov’t was doing all that it could to conceal Dafydd’s role in the Westminster Paedophile Ring. Dafydd’s gang included Dr D.G.E. Wood, who was a leading light in the Royal College of GPs. Buckman will know him.

So how did the turd Buckman ever find himself in a position where he was able to order about a Gov’t who loathed him?

Since Buckman gave that interview to the ‘Jewish Chronicle’ in 2009, his brother died for no good reason in an aeroplane mid-transit. Buckman must be a worried man by now.

David Bellamy, Rob Buckman’s co-presenter on ‘Don’t Ask Me’, was a botanist based at Durham University. Bellamy was friendly with one of his colleagues who lectured at Durham who was the mother of a particularly dreadful forestry student at Bangor University, Louis Standen. I and my friends had the Standen Experience when he moved into our house in 1984, just as we found ourselves surrounded by so many difficult people, a number of whom I have now been told were gifts from the security services. Standen was an absolute bloody nightmare, was highly abusive, had a record of sexually aggressive behaviour towards girls before he ever arrived at Bangor and freely told us that it was his mum and her connections that secured him the place on the forestry degree at Bangor. After graduation, Louis was involved in a series of events bizarre even by his standards and years later hit the headlines when he was part of a spectacularly ineffective anti-nuclear protest while dressed as an elf or some such character. It was reported in the press that Louis was employed as David Bellamy’s chauffeur at the time. The last that I heard of Louis he was living in Glastonbury predicting the end of the world and touring festivals to dispense his wisdom regarding this matter.

Louis Standen’s parents were both involved with Radical Causes – his dad was the novelist and literary figure Michael Standen – and they hobnobbed with many of the activists previously named on this blog as having colluded with or concealed the crimes of Dafydd et al, such as Tony Benn (see post ‘No Cuts’).

Durham University was stuffed with people who knew about the organised abuse ring in the north east and its links with the gang in north Wales. Professor Eric Sunderland was appointed Principal of UCNW/Bangor University in 1984, after the paedophile gang in north Wales sent up a distress flare. Eric had spent most of his career at Durham University and proved a remarkably loyal friend to Dafydd’s gang, although Eric was heavily camouflaged (see previous posts). Eric Sunderland took up his post at Bangor the same year that Louis arrived at the University.

David Bellamy was well-known for fostering/adopting children.

Adam Hart-Davis, the behind the scenes mover and shaker for ‘Don’t Ask Me’ is linked to people who have kept quiet about research fraud, dodgy practice and abuse (see post ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’).

Miriam has a company, Miriam Stoppard Lifetime, through which she flogs her books and health products. In August 2012, writing in the Daily Mirror, Stoppard supported UCL’s Institute of Child Health research which suggested reviewing the recommendation of exclusive breastfeeding until six months, adding that the appearance of teeth should signal the end of breastfeeding. I think that Miriam should probably stop telling other women what to do, it hasn’t been that helpful…

Nevertheless, Miriam was named Journalist of the Year at the Stonewall Awards on 6 November 2012.

Miriam was married to Tom Stoppard from 1972 to 1992; one of her sons is the actor Ed Stoppard and her sister is the ‘social justice activist’ Murreil Hazel Stern, mother of the Champion Of The Oppressed Baroness Oona King (see post ‘We’ve Been Expecting You…’). Oona’s dad is the academic and African-American civil rights activist Preston Theodore King. Preston King has taught at a number of universities within and outside of the UK, including Keele University. Keele had a problem at the time that Preston King taught there, in so far as some staff were concealing organised abuse.

In 1997, as the Waterhouse Inquiry got underway, Miriam married the industrialist Sir Christopher Hogg.

Hogg began his career with Philip Hill Higginson Erlangers Ltd (now Hill Samuel & Co Ltd); from 1963–66 and then worked for Courtaulds from 1968 onwards, which at the time was Europe’s largest textile company. He became a Director in 1973, was appointed Chief Executive in 1979 and became Executive Chairman on 1 January 1980. He retired as Chief Executive in 1991.

Courtaulds owned the British Cellophane factory in Bridgwater which for many years was Bridgwater’s biggest employer. Cellophane closed down in 2005 which caused much grief in Bridgwater. People were perplexed as to why the factory had closed. By then the Cellophane factory was owned by Innovia, who decided to close one of its two plants at either Bridgwater or Tecumseh, Kansas. British economic development officials offered a $120,000 tax break over three years to Innovia to preserve the Bridgwater plant, while Kansas offered $2 million if it kept the plant at Tecumseh open. As a result, the profit-making Bridgwater factory closed in the summer of 2005, while the loss-making factory in Tecumseh remained open.

By the time that the Cellophane factory was closed, the dreadful Ian Liddell-Grainger had succeeded Tom King as the Tory MP for Bridgwater. Liddell-Grainger’s claim to fame is that he is a great-great-great grandson of Queen Victoria. Before becoming an MP, Liddell-Grainger was commissioned as a Major in the TA with the 6th Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, commanding the machine-gun Platoon and then X Company of the Battalion in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Liddell-Grainger served on Tynedale District Council, 1989-95. So he knew about the trafficking gang in the north east linked to Dafydd’s gang.

Liddell-Grainger succeeded Tom King as MP in 2001, after King was given a peerage. King picked up his peerage the year after the Waterhouse Report concealed the barrel of crap in north Wales/Cheshire which King knew about and knew that some of his constituents knew about as well (see posts ‘Those Who Are Ready To Serve’ and ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’).

Christopher Hogg served as a member of the Dept of Industry’s Industrial Development Advisory Board from 1976-80. Hogg was a member of JP Morgan’s International Advisory Council, 1988-2003 and served as a Non-Executive Director of the Bank of England from March 1992 for a four-year term and as a Trustee of the Ford Foundation from 1987-99.

Hogg was appointed to the Bank of England when Robin Leigh-Pemberton was the Governor, 1983-93. My post ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’ describes how from the late 1980s onward, people known to me in Somerset who remained silent about what was happening to me in north Wales found themselves in possession of a great deal of money after their company was inexplicably cultivated by a bunch of over-privileged tossers who were members of the Dangerous Sports Club. A leading light in the DSC was Robin Leigh-Pemberton’s son Tommy. Tommy Leigh-Pemberton was shot dead in Nairobi when he was doing something that he should not have been, which would have resulted in much bad publicity for his father had it been widely known, so the circumstances of Tommy’s death were concealed (see post ‘The Village’).

Lord Kingsdown’s son – Tommy’s brother – the Hon. James Henry Leigh-Pemberton is a British banker and the incumbent Receiver-General for the Duchy of Cornwall. Robin Leigh-Pemberton was the Chancellor of the Duchy of Cornwall. James currently serves as the Executive Chairman of UK Financial Investments. James Leigh-Pemberton was educated at Eton and started his career at S.G. Warburg & Co before becoming a Managing Director at Credit Suisse Investment Banking in London. On 7 July 2008, James was appointed CEO of Credit Suisse’s businesses in the UK. He currently serves as the Executive Chairman of UK Financial Investments. James Leigh-Pemberton is also a Trustee of the Duke of Cornwall Benevolent fund and The Royal Collection Trust.

Christopher Hogg joined the board of Allied Domecq in 1995 and was Chairman, 1996-March 2002. He was a Non-Executive Director of Reuters Group from 1984 and its Chairman, 1985-2004 and later served as Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council, 2006-April 2010. Hogg was a Non-Executive Director of Air Liquide, 2000–05, and of SmithKline Beecham, 1993-2000. He was a Non-Executive Director of GlaxoSmithKline from 2000, and its Chairman, 2002-04. Hogg Chaired the National Theatre, 1995-2004.

Hogg attended Marlborough College and Trinity College, Oxford. He attended IMEDE Business School (Lausanne, 1962), before going to Harvard where he completed his MBA.

Frank Pakenham’s heir, Thomas Pakenham, the 8th Earl Longford, is a journo and historian. After graduating from Belvedere College and Magdalen College, Oxford in 1955, Thomas Pakenham travelled to Ethiopia. On returning to Britain, Thomas worked on the Editorial staff of ‘The Times’ and later for ‘The Sunday Telegraph’ and ‘The Observer’. He is the Chairman of the Irish Tree Society.

Patrick Pakenham, another of Frank Pakenham’s children, was a barrister who died in 2005. Patrick had a difficult life, particularly after he developed manic depression, which resulted in him being admitted to nursing homes on three occasions and prevented him from continuing his career. Even before Patrick became ill, he seemed to have had some very bad experiences. He was ‘treated badly’ – one presumes that it must have been very badly – as an Army cadet which resulted in him having a breakdown and then in 1963 he was involved in a boating accident in which two of his friends died. In 1982 Patrick and his father set up the Help Charitable Trust and Patrick began visiting mentally ill prisoners. So like his dad, Patrick knew just how grim the prevailing situation was/is. I presume that Patrick was admitted to ‘nursing homes’ during his periods of illness because no-one was going to risk his neck in NHS long term psychiatric care. Dafydd is of course for other people…

Patrick’s sister Judith is a poet. She formerly worked for Chelsea Labour Party but left the Party in 1999. Since 2001, Judith has helped campaign for Occupied Palestine. In 1963 she married Alexander John Kazantis; then in 1998 Judith married lawyer and writer Irving Weinman, who was active in Jews4Justice4Palestines. Judith and Irving lived in the Brighton area, but then Longford’s children – or at least some of them – were brought up in East Sussex.

John Allen owned brothels in Brighton and London to which he trafficked kids in care from north Wales. The firebomb which killed five witnesses to the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal in April 1992 was thrown into a building in Brighton (see post ‘The Silence Of The Welsh Lambs’).

Another of Frank Longford’s daughters is Rachel Billington. She has written plays for BBC Television’s ‘Play for Today’ series and several radio plays and has contributed to film scripts. Rachel Billington also works as a journo for newspapers in both the UK and the US and worked for three years as a columnist for ‘The Sunday Telegraph’. Rachel Billington was President of English PEN, 1998-2001 and is now Honorary Vice-President. During her time as President Billington initiated PEN’s Readers & Writers programme which sends books and writers to meet readers in schools, prisons and other institutions which lack resources. Rachel is a Trustee of the Longford Trust which was set up in memory of her father. As well as being involved with the prisoners newspaper ‘Inside Time’, she is a Trustee of ‘The Tablet’ and of the Siobhan Dowd Trust, set up to encourage reading among disadvantaged children.

Rachel is married to the film, theatre and television director Kevin Billington. Kevin was educated at Bryanston School and Queen’s College, Cambridge. He worked for the BBC as a radio producer in Leeds, 1959–60 and then for television in Manchester, 1960–61, before working on the early evening ‘Tonight’ programme and on documentaries for the BBC and ATV until 1967. Billington’s theatre work includes several productions of plays by his brother-in-law Harold Pinter. His TV work includes ‘A Time to Dance’ (BBC 1992), adapted by Melvyn Bragg from his own work of fiction.

Another of Longford’s sons, Michael Aidan Pakenham, was educated at Ampleforth and Trinity College, Cambridge. Michael was briefly a reporter for the Washington Post before joining the Foreign Office to pursue a career as a diplomat in 1965. He served in Nairobi and Warsaw before being seconded to the Cabinet Office, 1971–74 as Assistant Private Secretary and then Private Secretary, to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancashire, Geoffrey Rippon, then John Davies, who at that time had special responsibilities for the co-ordination of British policy towards the EC. Geoffrey Rippon was one of those who played a role in the unlawful arrest and imprisonment of Mary Wynch (see post ‘A Few Of The Relevant Politicians Re Mary Wynch’s Case’).

In 1974 Michael Pakenham was at the CSCE in Geneva, then was posted to New Delhi, 1974–78 and Washington DC, 1978–1983. He was Head of the Arms Control and Disarmament Department at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, 1983–87; Counsellor (External Relations) to the UK Permanent Representative to the EC, Brussels, 1987–91; Ambassador and Counsel-General to Luxembourg, 1991–94; and Minister in Paris, 1994–97.

Pakenham was then seconded to the Cabinet Office again as Deputy Secretary for Defence and Overseas Affairs 1997–99, then Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee, 1997–2000 (also Intelligence Co-ordinator 1999–2000). Finally he was posted to Warsaw as Ambassador to Poland, 2001–03.

Since retiring from the Diplomatic Service, Pakenham has been Chairman of Pakenvest International; senior adviser to Access Industries; non-executive Director of the Westminster Group; a Trustee of Chevening House; and a lay member of the governing Council of King’s College, London and its Vice-Chairman since 2009.

Pakenham married Mimi Lavine (born Meta Doak) in 1980; they have two daughters. They also have two step daughters, Dr Lisa Nagy of Martha’s Vineyard and Lindsay Lavine Webster of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Longford’s daughter Catherine Pakenham was a journo who died in car crash in 1969.

There is another son, Kevin Pakenham, who is a banker.

Now for a brief news round-up:

On Saturday morning on Radio 4 an Angel from north Wales rang a phone-in programme to tell Radio 4 about her hard life as an advanced practitioner in north Wales, how the patients don’t appreciate her and how she is doing the job of a GP because of ‘the crisis’. This Angel mentioned that among her many patients, there are people with mental health problems. The Angel failed to mention that she works for a Health Board that is in special measures as a result of staff being filmed undercover seriously abusing elderly mentally ill patients and that the regional NHS has such an atrocious reputation that no GPs will relocate there, which is why the Angel has been given the responsibilities of a GP. From what the Angel said on the radio, it sounded as if she works near Wrexham. She forgot to tell Radio 4 that many of her colleagues facilitated one of the biggest paedophile rings in the UK. The journo asked the Angel what her salary was and commiserated with her being ‘low paid’. The Angel giggled and said that she didn’t want to reveal her salary on air. That will be because as an advanced practitioner the Angel be on at least £40k which is rather more than most people in Wrexham – which has one of the biggest homelessness problems in Wales – will be earning, even if they’re commuting to Chester every day in pursuit of a higher salary.

BBC News Wales Online reported that the Welsh Ambulance Service are having yet another trauma, this time regarding the number of their staff who are so stressed out that they are all off sick. I was interested to note that the rep who was angrily spinning the latest sob story demanding that the Welsh Gov’t Act Now was exactly the same man who in 2017 was brimming over with praise for the Welsh Gov’t after they had awarded the staff of the Welsh Ambulance Service a generous pay increase.

There was a very much more interesting interview on Dominic Lawson’s Sunday morning Radio 4 programme ‘Why I Changed My Mind’. Lawson interviewed the paediatrician Dr Waney Squire. Dr Squire has suffered very badly at the hands of the medical establishment because she dared to challenge the notion of ‘shaken baby syndrome’. Waney Squire’s work was thorough and based on very sound science but because she challenged her colleagues and defended parents who stood accused of murdering their children, she was investigated by the GMC and struck off. Lawson concentrated on Squire moving from a position of accepting the notion of shaken baby syndrome to believing that it did not exist. It was an interesting interview, but Lawson missed the worst aspect of Dr Squire being struck off, which was that once she was put out of action, there was not one Top Doc in the UK who dared question shaken baby syndrome and give evidence in defence of accused people protesting their innocence. So if Dafydd accuses any readers of this blog of shaking a baby and killing him/her and they are had up for murder, they will find that there is not one Top Doc in the UK who will dare speak in their defence, because if they do, that Top Doc will probably be struck off.

Dafydd is still practising.

It was reported that a ‘doctors union’, the HCSA, is demanding the resignation of Charlie Massey, the Chief Exec of the GMC, in the wake of the saga involving Dr Bawa-Garba, the junior doctor who won her appeal against being struck off after a little boy died in her care following a string of errors (see post ‘We’ve Been Expecting You…’). The HCSA is the Hospitals Consultants and Specialists Association, which represents senior doctors. It was made very clear that in the case of Dr Bawa-Garba, her patient died because there was no consultant for her to seek advice from, the consultant on call ‘not realising’ that he was on call and was therefore moonlighting at another hospital elsewhere. Dr Bawa-Garba’s nursing colleagues told the media that the hospital involved, the Leicester Royal Infirmary, had been dangerous for years because there were never consultants available from whom junior staff could seek advice.

No wonder the HCSA is after Charlie Massey’s blood – the blame for the sacrificing of Dr Bawa-Garba has been placed very firmly on them. Are any of them now going to fulfil their legal obligations and ensure that they are available for their junior staff when they are on-call?

Charlie Massey should of course resign, but not because of Dr Bawa-Garba. Charlie Massey should go because Dafydd is STILL on the medical register.

Perhaps the HCSA would like to consider the following scene from An Everyday Story Of North Wales Folk. Some years ago two people known to me set up a community charity and one of the other people involved in the charity was a Top Doctor, a paediatrician from Ysbyty Gwynedd. The two people whom I knew became increasingly worried about this paediatrician as it became clear that he was a serial liar and seemed very exploitative towards vulnerable people. One evening he was at a meeting with others from the charity to discuss matters relating to the charity and his bleeper went off. The others at the meeting said ‘ooh do you need to go?’ The paediatrician said ‘no its OK, I’m on call but I’ll just switch this off and ignore it or I’ll be disturbed all evening’. He was as good as his word. He switched his bleeper off and did not bother to even find out who was trying to get hold of him or why. He was the consultant on call that night.

The paediatrics dept at Ysbyty Gwynedd was known to be so unsafe that local Top Doctors had an agreement that if their own children were taken ill, they would not be admitted to Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Would the HCSA like to let us know whether they would be happy for their kids to be treated by Dr Ali Bates of Tregarth, who could not be arsed to answer his bleep when he was on call? Ali Bates switched that bleep off because he had better things to do back in about 2003. If anyone was harmed or died as a result, Ysbyty Gwynedd will have lied, in the way that they lied after all the other patients had suffered at the hands of their dangerous, negligent staff and the Welsh Gov’t will have backed them up all the way.

Keep screaming and stamping your feet Top Docs, just keep it up. I worked at Hammersmith and St George’s and lived in north Wales for decades. I have many more anecdotes that I have not yet blogged about and I’ve only touched the surface of my 10,000 documents so far on this blog…

The other news item that caused a stir recently was the report that Vince Cable was going to put the Lib Dems on a firm footing and would then resign as Leader. Only the next day Vince stated that he would not be resigning after all.

Conference At Cold Comfort Farm

Whilst searching for more information regarding matters such as the sorry state of the UK’s prisons and miscarriages of justice recently, I came across a news report from 1997 which stated that paedophile gangs were operating within prisons. What had happened was that paedophiles had been sentenced, but then their young victims had ended up in prison alongside their assailants, after the victims had been criminalised and jailed for less serious offences. That was certainly what seemed to be happening at Risley Remand Centre back in the 1980s.

No matter how many shock horror reports, no matter how many lessons will be learned, pledges for change etc, matters in the prison service and mental health services do not ever improve, even in the face of so much ‘expertise’. I maintain that it is because everyone who would implement change is excluded at a junior level. There are no original thinkers in the pool from which the ‘leaders’ and ‘advisers’ are drawn. The ‘leaders’ have only made it into the selection pool by spending their careers keeping quiet about abuse and wrongdoing. Not that Gov’t wants anyone who will expose the rot. The structure is so threadbare that if one gave a loose thread a tug, the whole system would unravel.

Those who are going to effect change are also drawn from a pool of people with remarkably similar backgrounds and CVs. So I thought that in this post I’d take a look at some of those who’s vision was going to effect change in the prison system.

When the Indie reported on the paedophile gangs operating within prisons, David Ramsbotham was HMI Chief Inspector of Prisons for England and Wales. Ramsbotham was in post 1995-01.

David Ramsbotham was the son of a clergyman, John Ramsbotham, who became the Bishop of Wakefield, retiring in 1967. John Ramsbotham is one of the generation of senior clergyman whom we now know colluded with a massive child abuse problem within the Church of England.

David Ramsbotham was educated at Haileybury and the Imperial Service College. Ramsbotham entered the Army to do National Service and was commissioned into the Royal Artillary in 1953. After National Service, he retained a TA commission and then completed a degree at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.

In 1958 Ramsbotham was appointed to a regular Army commission. He served in Borneo during the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation, Dec 1965-66. By 1971 Ramsbotham had achieved the rank of Lt Col and from 1970-73 he served as Military Assistant to the Chief of the General Staff, Sir (Later Lord) Field Marshal Michael Carver. Ramsbotham commanded a battalion of the Royal Green Jackets in N Ireland from 1974-75. By the end of 1978, Ramsbotham had achieved the rank of Brigadier and served again in N Ireland, commanding a brigade based in Belfast from June 1978 and was appointed CBE for his service there in the operational honours of Oct 1980.

David Ramsbotham will know a great deal about shoot to kill, the torture and sometimes murder of suspects, the law breaking that was associated with internment, the miscarriages of justice in N Ireland, the internal wars between different factions of the security services and of course the identity of those who were abusing boys at the Kincora Boys Home, as well as about the activities of the paedophile child psychiatrist who was linked to Kincora, Dr Morris Fraser, who was afforded complete protection by the British establishment.

As the British Army’s Director of PR, 1982–84, Ramsbotham leaked documents to a journalist which showed that prior to the Falklands War, the Army had developed a comprehensive plan for dealing with the media, but it had been overlooked; the Army was subsequently criticised for not having done such planning.

Ramsbotham commanded the 3rd Armoured Division for a period prior to March 1987. In April 1987 he was appointed Commander UK Field Army and Inspector General of the TA.

Ramsbotham stepped down as Commander of the Field Army in August 1990 and received a further honorary appointment as ADC Gen to Lilibet on 3 Dec 1990, which he held until his retirement from the Army. On 27 December 1990 Ramsbotham was appointed Adjutant-General. This period included the UK involvement in the Gulf War; he retired from the Army in July 1993. In Dec 1995 Ramsbotham became Chief Inspector of Prisons for England and Wales.

Ramsbotham had a ‘strained relationship’ with the Home Secretaries in office during his tenure – Michael Howard and Jack Straw – and this contributed to his contract not being continued for the full eight years that had originally been possible.

In 2005 Ramsbotham was given a peerage and he sits as a crossbencher.  Ramsbotham is Chairman of the Koestler Awards scheme as well as Vice-Chair of both the All Party Penal Affairs Group and the All Party Parliamentary Group for Learning and Skills in the Criminal Justice System. He is President of UNLOCK, the National Association of Ex-Offenders and an Ambassador for the Prison Advice and Care Trust (PACT). Ramsbotham is a Trustee and Vice-Chairman of the charity Institute for Food, Brain and Behaviour.

The primary focus of the Institute for Food, Brain and Behaviour (IFBB) is the commissioning of research into how food, nutrition and diet can affect brain function and behaviour. Former Trustees include Hugh Montefiore, the 3rd Earl Henry Kitchener, Baroness Susan Greenfield and Rev Nicholas Frayling.

Hugh Montefiore, Chairman and Trustee of the IFBB, was Bishop of Kingston-upon-Thames, 1970-78 and then Bishop of Birmingham, 1978-87. Nicholas Frayling is also a clergyman who worked in Peckham, Tooting and Liverpool when organised trafficking gangs operated in those areas. Montefiore and Frayling must have known at least something of what was going on.

Susan Greenfield spent a few years as the media’s idea of a wonderful advert for wimmin in science and there were many articles published about the feminist scientist who wore leather and short skirts. Greenfield played the journos for all that she could, most of them had no knowledge of pharmacology or biochemistry and obviously saw Greenfield as some sort of Einstein. Greenfield’s colleagues are less wowed and she has stood accused of publishing theories without the evidence to back them up. Susan Greenfield was appointed Director of the Royal Institution in 1998 and more gushing articles followed. Within a few short years there was the most enormous ding dong, with Greenfield being accused of complete incompetence and wasting millions of quid and Greenfield responding that her accusers were a bunch of old farts in possession of testicles. Then the writs began flying. Whatever went on must have been really bad because the post of Director of the Royal Institution was subsequently abolished, just in case Susan came back again.

After the disaster at the Royal Institution, Susan rocked up in the Lords as a people’s peer. When reading about Susan, I had the most terrible shock. I thought that Blair rang up his mates to invite them to become people’s peers, but it’s worse than that. People’s peers are ‘self-nominated’, as indeed was Susan. No wonder the people’s peers are all narcissistic loonies, they’ve applied to be peers themselves, they haven’t even been chosen. So that’s why the Lords is now so obviously the House of the Sharp-Elbowed and Mediocre. I think that I might contact hundreds of dinner ladies, cleaners and service users and encourage them all to nominate themselves as people’s peers. They can bang on about empowering wimmin just as well as Susan Greenfield can and they’ll be able to cook a dinner for a family of five at the same time.

Lord Henry Kitchener, former President and Trustee of the IFBB, was a physicist who spent most of his working life with ICI in Cheshire and was President of the Organic Food Society. He was a Freemason who was initiated in 1947 and rose to senior rank, serving as Senior Grand Warden of the United Grand Lodge of England. In 1972 Lord Kitchener was Deputy Lieutenant of Cheshire. Which rather puts him at the scene of the crimes and cover-up re Dafydd, Sir Peter Morrison and the gang. Kitchener was a friend of Bertrand Russell’s son Lord Conrad Russell (see post ‘So Who Was Angry About What?’). Bertrand Russell spent the last 25 years of his life living in north Wales and was friends with the Welsh Bloomsbury set based at Cwm Croesor who knew about Gwynne, Dafydd and the gang (see post ‘The Village’).

Henry Kitchener was a Page of Honour at the coronation of George VI. His niece Emma Joy Kitchener, a Lady-in-Waiting to HRH Princess Michael of Kent, married Julian Fellowes of gratuitous snobbery and ‘Downton Abbey’ fame. In 1998 the Fellowes family changed its surname from Fellowes to Kitchener-Fellowes, because that sounds even posher and it also means that now Julian Fellowes can stress that he’s related to Lord Kitchener of Khartoum, the butcher of WWI and inventor of the concentration camp.

Henry was known to have explained to people that an hereditary peerage was much better than a mere life peerage and that he took his right to sit in the Lords very seriously, although by his own admission he was ‘just too lazy’ to attend the Lords much before his retirement.

Every little helps – there’s a paedophile gang with links to Parliament and the Royal Family to be concealed!

Because Henry Kitchener was unmarried with no male heirs, his title died with him in 2011. Julian Fellowes was outraged at this waste of a good Earldom and publicly expressed his dissatisfaction that the proposals to change the rules of royal succession were not extended to hereditary peerages, which had they been would have allowed his wife to succeed her uncle as The Countess Kitchener. Emma was in danger of remaining plain old Lady Fellowes – or perhaps Lady Kitchener-Fellowes because of course they’d changed their name – as a result of being married to Lord Julian, only a life peer himself. Which is so naff that one might as well be in trade. Here he is, common as muck:

The Lord Fellowes of West Stafford

Fellowes stated: “I find it ridiculous that, in 2011, a perfectly sentient adult woman has no rights of inheritance whatsoever when it comes to a hereditary title”. Fortunately for Julian and Emma, Lilibet came to the rescue. On 9 May 2012, Lilibet issued a Royal Warrant of Precedence granting Lady Emma the same rank and style as the daughter of an Earl, as would have been due to her if her late father had survived his brother and therefore succeeded to the earldom. Specifically it declared that Lady Fellowes “shall henceforth have, hold and enjoy the same title, rank, place, pre-eminence and precedence as a daughter of an Earl” and “succeeded to the title and dignity of Earl Kitchener of Khartoum and Broome.”

Much as I am touched by the sudden outburst of the desire for gender equality on the part of Julian Fellowes and Lilibet, where ‘dignity’ enters into the hissy fit of a man who writes laughable dramas for TV because he has realised that his wife cannot inherit the title of a man who concealed the crimes of Dafydd, I cannot imagine. Now how was that well-known Women’s Libber Lilibet persuaded to intervene in this matter I wonder?

The man who exerted massive influence over UCNW while Carlo was Chancellor and who tried to embezzle a few thousand quid from the institution. It really is appalling as I am sure that Carlo would agree.

‘These women are only bloody feminists because they’re too fat and ugly to get a man.’

IFBB’s Science Fellows include Kathleen Taylor, a neuroscientist based at Oxford University. One of Taylor’s research areas is ‘the neuroscience of belief’. I wish you all the best with that one Kathleen, perhaps your research will equal that of some of your colleagues who have told us all that MRI scans show which parts of the brain are responsible for ‘love’ and ‘compassion’ and how these areas experience increased activity after the owners of the brains have done a bit of Mindfulness. Look, the brain areas are lighting up! The MRI scanning machines are obviously in on Prof Mark Williams’s research fraud as well then (see post ‘The Biggest Expert Of The Lot’).

Kathleen’s 2004 book ‘Brainwashing: The Science of Thought Control’ was shortlisted by MIND for their 2005 ‘book of the year’. In 2005 MIND were concealing the abuse and deaths of patients at the Hergest Unit in Ysbyty Gwynedd, as well as in other institutions. Both National MIND were involved, as were MIND Cymru. I rang MIND Cymru in 2005 and told one Ruth Coombs, who I think was their Director of Policy, that I had evidence of the serious abuse of mental health patients in Wales. She was all ears and asked me where. I replied ‘the Hergest Unit’ and I heard her whisper ‘Oh my God’ before putting the phone down on me. Ruth subsequently became Director of MIND Cymru and then the Head of the British Heart Foundation in Wales. See post ‘The Mysterious Silence Of MIND’.

Ruth Coombs has climbed ever higher and is now ‘Head of Wales’ no less at the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Ruth has worked in partnership with the Children’s Commissioner for Wales to produce an ‘anti-bullying resource’ for use in secondary schools in Wales. MIND Cymru recently featured on TV in Wales as being an organisation with a serious workplace bullying problem. This blog also received accounts and evidence of bullying and misconduct from horrified former MIND Cymru staff (see post ‘A Solicitor’s Letter From North East Wales MIND’) and I was subsequently harassed and threatened by MIND Cymru as they tried to force me to remove my posts about them.

Robin Holden, a man with a very cosy relationship with Dafydd who formerly worked as an Angel at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh and as a senior manager for the Gwynedd Community Health Trust whilst patients died and were fitted up for crimes by the staff and when serious complaints when uninvestigated and documentation was forged, is now an executive with MIND Cymru (see post ‘A Solicitor’s Letter From North East Wales MIND’).

The Office of Children’s Commissioner for Wales was established on the recommendation of no less than that of Sir Ronald Waterhouse. Since it’s creation it has been managed and run substantially by paedophiles’ friends. One senior social worker employed by the Children’s Commissioner was the daughter of an Angel at the North Wales Hospital Denbigh who had been a close friend of Dafydd’s daughter when they were teenagers. See post ‘Yet More Inglorious Bastards’.

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has a long and proud tradition of appointing Commissioners who have presided over the abuse of vulnerable people, such as Dr Rachel Perkins (see post ‘BMA Calling, BMA Calling’), who was the Clinical Director of Springfield Hospital when that hospital colluded with Dafydd and the paedophiles in north Wales and concealed another linked paedophile gang in south London (see posts ‘Some Very Eminent Psychiatrists From London…’ and ‘The Most Dangerous Man In the World – Part III’).

Kathleen Taylor’s 2009 book, ‘Cruelty: Human Evil and the Human Brain’ examined human cruelty from ‘the points of view of biology and sociology’. Whereas this blog has examined human cruelty as inflicted by MIND and the many people with who’s crimes MIND have colluded or concealed.

The Institute for Food, Brain and Behaviour seems to have spent some years disguised as something else. It began life in 1984 as South Cumbria Alternative Sentencing Options. It was founded to investigate whether nutrition could play a role in minimising recidivism in young offenders, but that aim doesn’t readily come to mind if one talks of ‘alternative sentencing options’. The organisation became Natural Justice in 1991, which again does not sound as though it is an organisation investigating links between nutrition and offending behaviour. Natural Justice metamorphosed into the Institute for Food, Brain and Behaviour (IFBB) in 2010.

The Institute has a collaborative research programme with Oxford University. It facilitated a £1.4 million research project in three prisons funded by the Wellcome Trust. The Wellcome Trust funded Professor Mark Williams and Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore to conduct a big Mindfulness research project. Sarah-Jayne is the helpful neuroscientist upon whom Mark Williams is relying to give Mindfulness scientific credibility. Sarah-Jayne’s dad is the Oxford Professor Colin Blakemore, who was formerly Chief Executive of the MRC, which gives Oxford University a great deal of funding. Colin Blakemore had to wait a very long time for his knighthood because his animal work was felt to be so gratuitously cruel, even by other researchers carrying out animal work. For further details of Sarah-Jayne and Colin Blakemore’s network, see post ‘They Are MYRIAD, They Are Legion’.

The Wellcome funded study for the IFBB commenced in Jan 2008 with Professor John Stein –  a Trustee of the IFBB and Chair of the IFBB’s Science Advisory Council – of Oxford University as Principal Investigator. John Stein was the PhD supervisor of Daniel Wolpert, who was the PhD supervisor of Sarah-Jayne Blakemore (see post ‘They Are MYRIAD, They Are Legion’). Sarah-Jayne Co-directs the Wellcome Trust PhD Programme at UCL.

The Institute has been carrying out a study at Robert Clack School into whether nutritional supplements can improve disadvantaged pupils’ cognitive skills and behaviour, funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation. I suspect that John Stein might find that a range of cultural and socio-economic factors may be playing a part in the cognitive skills and behaviour of disadvantaged pupils, as well as in how ‘cognitive skills and behaviour’ are being defined.

Prof John Stein came under fire in 2008 during that row when Gordon Brown was PM about the girl from Newcastle, Laura Spence, who had been turned down for a place to read medicine at Oxford despite a string of As at A level. Laura went to university in the US in the end. John Stein angrily denied that Oxford had discriminated against Laura, a state school pupil and maintained that he and his colleagues had been working very hard to welcome state school pupils at Oxford. Laura’s rejection was most likely simply a result of the huge numbers of very well-qualified students applying for a place at Oxford for medicine. Although I don’t believe that most Oxford admissions tutors do actively discriminate against state school pupils and it is true that more state school pupils are indeed entering Oxford, they are nearly always state school pupils who’s parents are professional middle class people, often academics. Students like Sarah-Jayne Blakemore was.

If John Stein wants more genuinely disadvantaged students to benefit from an Oxford education, he’d do better addressing the variety of interacting socio-economic and cultural factors that excludes those students rather than wasting his time giving them food supplements. That will boost the profits of Holland and Barrett, but I doubt that it will change the social profile of Oxford undergrads.

Lots of fish oil, that’s what the lower classes need. Then they’d all be as clever as Sarah-Jayne Blakemore. They’re only held back because they do insist on eating Big Macs and chips, Jamie Oliver will confirm that, whilst he insults their mothers at the same time for not feeding their offspring the sort of delicacies that Buddy Bear and his siblings enjoy.

In 1999, when Jamie was riding high on the success of his TV programme Two Fat Hairy Naked Chefs, Jamie was invited to cook Tony Blair a dinner at No 10. So that is why Tony Blair’s kids have done so well for themselves, it was the quality of the grub that the family were served by Jamie! Euan Blair bagged an internship at the Whitehouse, subsequently pursued a career in the City and is the proud joint owner of a house worth £3.6 million. Bloody hell Jamie, you must have put something special in Blair’s dinner. It was revealed in the media that Cherie is the joint owner of Euan’s house, rather than Euan’s wife Suzanne. That’ll be because Suzanne once ate a Penguin biscuit.

Jamie Oliver went to Newport Free Grammar School and left with two GCSEs. He went on to Westminster Technical College, where he gained an NVQ in home economics. Well that’s curious Jamie, because I went to a troubled shite comprehensive school, but I ended up with O levels, A levels, a BSc, an MSc and a PhD. I’ve never been fed food supplements and I didn’t grow up in a household which possessed items of expensive kitchen machinery, but I was surrounded by books and people who discussed politics. I wonder if there could be a link. It’s called ‘cultural capital’ Professor Stein and Jamie, Pierre Bourdieu wrote about it years ago before people worked so hard to blame disadvantaged people for their own disadvantage.

John Stein’s brother is the celebrity chef Rick Stein. I did wonder if Rick flogged food supplements, but a quick look at his wiki entry reveals that he actually owns a few fish and chip shops.

On the topic of Oxford entry, I wonder if John Stein can solve a puzzle. Back in the mid-1980s, there was a lot of huffing and puffing in the media regarding certain schools having reserved places at Oxford. Oxford angrily denied any such practice, maintaining that was only back in the Olden Days and things were different now. The year that this row blew up was the very same year that Brown’s cousin applied to read law at Oxford. She didn’t get the place that she wanted, but was subsequently offered a place to do theology instead, which confused me, because she had not shown the slightest interest in theology. It was explained by Brown’s uncle and auntie that Brown’s cousin’s school had a reserved place at Oxford, but it was for theology and it had been offered to her. The school in question was Tiffin Girls’ in Kingston-upon-Thames. Tiffin Girls’ still has an excellent track record for getting pupils into Oxbridge.

Here’s some Fox’s Party Rings, perfect for an at home with Peter Morrison and Dafydd:

London's Best Crumpets | Londonist

Alderman Roberts probably sold them in that grocer’s shop in Grantham that we heard so much about from Thatch.

The Patron of the IFBB is the restaurateur and chef Prue Leith. Leith grew up in South Africa and her father worked for and became a Director of African Explosives, a subsidiary of ICI producing dynamite for use in mines. In 1975, Leith founded Prue Leith’s School of Food and Wine, of which Caroline Waldegrave is Managing Director. Caroline is married to William Waldegrave, who’s OK by Julian Fellowes, being the son of the 12th Earl Waldegrave. William Waldegrave was Secretary of State for Health, 1990-92 and while in that post he covered up the barrel of shit which was Dafydd and the paedophile gang and the linked gang in south London which was concealed by St George’s Hospital Medical School/Springfield Hospital. Waldegrave was the Tory MP for Bristol West. That must have been very useful for Dr D.G.E. Wood, Dafydd’s partner in crime who came from the Bristol area, qualified from Bristol University and who’s father was a Top Doc who continued to live near Bristol long after Wood himself had settled in north Wales to follow a life of serious organised crime. Waldegrave’s sister is Lady Susan Hussey, Lady-in-Waiting to Lilibet and Godmother to Prince William. The Lady Susan was married to Marmaduke Hussey, whom Thatch appointed Chairman of the BBC to sort out the pinkos there. Duke Hussey was Chairman when my friend, a witness to the wrongdoing in north Wales, was forced out of his job at the BBC, while Waldegrave was Health Secretary (see post ‘The Turn Of The Screw’).

In his autobiography, ‘A Different Kind Of Weather’, Waldegrave banged on about his noble ancestors and his bitter regret that he never became PM. Presumably this aristocratic complete scumbag who ignored the most serious crime in the NHS and social services thought that he would have done a so much better job than the scumbag who was the petit bourgeois grocer’s daughter or the scumbag who was the son of the circus performer from Brixton who ignored the same serious crime.

In Matthew Parris’s article for ‘The Spectator’ in which he reviews Waldegrave’s autobiography, Parris mentions that he and Waldegrave were elected to the Commons at the same time in 1979. Parris wrote: ‘That old charmer Edward du Cann, to whom in the days after William and I had been elected in 1979 I once confided my feelings of hurt when criticised, put a hand on my wrist. ‘Dear boy,’ he said, ‘nice people are always hurt.’

Edward du Cann was the Conservative MP for Taunton, 1956-87 and was highly influential in the Tory Party as a result of his position as Chairman of the Tory Party, 1965-67 and as Chairman of the Party’s 1922 Committee, 1972-84. Du Cann was a very rich man whom my grandfather always claimed was a crook. Du Cann was criticized as “incompetent” by a 1974 DTI report regarding the bankruptcy of Keyser Ullman bank, of which du Cann was a Director. In 1973, Keyser Ullman lent £17m to a 28 year old entrepreneur, Christopher Selmes, secured on a valueless guarantee. Mr Selmes later fled the country, leaving debts of more than £20m. The bankruptcy of Keyser Ullman was the only reason why du Cann did not put himself forward as a candidate in the Tory leadership contest against Thatcher, du Cann being yet another mediocrity who fancied himself as a future PM and had led the rout against Ted Heath, initially under the guise of robustly supporting Thatch for the leadership. Peter Morrison was a leading light in encouraging Thatch to run for the leadership.

Du Cann succeeded Duncan Sandys as Chairman of Lonrho in 1984, a position from which he was forced to resign in 1991 due to his role as Deputy Chairman of Homes Assured, a finance company which crashed. His resignation came two days before the company collapsed, owing £10 million to creditors. The Serious Fraud Office began an inquiry. Du Cann was involved in several legal disputes over debts. His Somerset estate Cothay Manor was repossessed in 1992 and his London flat in Tufton Street in Westminster was repossessed in 1993. In 1985-86, the Eagle Star insurance company began proceedings three times to repossess Cothay Manor. The amount was paid each time and the mortgage later discharged.

Between 1980 and 1993 there were at least seven writs against du Cann for late payment of bills, including failure to pay water rates, to pay commission on the sale of a yacht, to keep up his mortgage payments and to clear a £137,000 overdraft.

Du Cann had a bankruptcy order served against him in 1993 and lived for several years in Alderney on the Isle of Wight. So one wonders how du Cann then subsequently wound up living in Lemona in Cyprus with enough dosh to invest in a vineyard.

Here are some clues:

On 26 March 1993 the Indie reported that du Cann had applied to have the bankruptcy order against him lifted. The order was made in the London Bankruptcy Court on 12 March 1993 on a petition over unpaid bills by the solicitors Denton Hall Burgin & Warren, who used to act for du Cann. Because of that order, an Inland Revenue petition for unpaid taxes became a formality on 25 March 1993 and was automatically dismissed at a brief private hearing before Registrar Geoffrey Pimm in London on 25 March 1993. Both the Inland Revenue and the law firm had filed their petitions in Jan 1993. Du Cann told ‘The Independent’ on 25 March that his solicitors would be applying to have the bankruptcy order lifted in the next few days.

A curious article in the ‘Sunday Herald’, 18 July 1995, about du Cann mentioned his long and glorious life – he was by the 71 yrs old – his service in the Royal Naval Reserve in the 1940s, his former close relationship to Ted Heath and his numerous dodgy deals and friendships with the rich and famous. It was explained that du Cann’s wife Jen had recently died, that du Cann was living on the Isle of Wight in reduced circumstances and was unhappy at the way that the Tory Party was ‘being run’. Du Cann told the ‘Sunday Herald’ that he had a lot to tell and he would be telling it.

In July 1995, Nicola Davies QC was supposedly reviewing the paperwork relating to the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal to determine whether a Public Inquiry was needed. Although Dame Nicola stated in Dec 1995 that a Public Inquiry would not be in the public interest, by summer 1995, Sir Ronald Waterhouse had altered his retirement plans and had embarked on a tour of the paedophiles’ friends in Cheshire and Wales who were responsible for so much of the parts of the infrastructure which allowed the abuse of children in Cheshire/north Wales to occur, infrastructure which was to feature in Ronnie’s subsequent Inquiry, which was announced by William Hague on 17 June 1996.

By July 1995 Dafydd et al in north Wales were moving heaven and earth in an attempt to demonstrate that I was so dangerous that I should be banged up in a secure hospital on their say so without the inconvenience of a trial, having failed dismally in their serial attempts to have me imprisoned by perjury, planting evidence etc.

Du Cann never did tell anyone anything, or at least if he did, whatever he told them received no publicity.

In Oct 2013 the ‘Cyprus Mail’ ran a feature on a long forgotten elderly English gentleman who had been living in Cyprus for the last 12 years and who’s previous as the Chief Exec of a a wine company with vineyards in the south of France had prompted him to ‘invest’ in Cyprus vine yards years previously. It was Edward du Cann. Du Cann told the ‘Cyprus Mail’ that he used to regularly visit the south of France to ‘inspect the vine yards’.

John Allen owned a villa in the south of France to which he took kids from the children’s homes of north Wales ‘on holiday’. Dafydd was a regular in the south of France as well, he ‘held clinics’ there.

For some years now Dr D.G.E. Wood has been ‘holding clinics’ in Cyprus.

Old Warwickians - 1940s-1960s School House Dinner

Cheers, We’re as corrupt as fuck!

Dafydd’s mate and umbrella Professor Robert Bluglass has a second home in the Pyrenees. Which are located on the south west France/Spain border.

Du Cann was a board member of E-Clear, a British payment processing company, which went into administration in Jan 2010. He married three times; first, in 1962, to Sally (a cousin), whom he divorced in 1987, then he was married to Jennifer until her death in 1995. Du Cann died in Aug 2017 and was survived by his third wife, Maureen Hope-Wynne. Perhaps Maureen could let us know whence that influx of dosh came which refloated the Good Ship du Cann after his bankruptcy and public disgrace. Maureen might also tell us why Sir Edward decided at some point in 1995 that he didn’t have anything to tell after all, even though he thought that he did. Unless William Hague wants to explain instead.

Sir Edward du Cann’s second wife Jen was the widow of Robert Cooke, who had been Waldegrave’s predecessor as the Tory MP for Bristol West. Cooke served as a councillor on Bristol City Council, 1954-57 and taught English at a Bristol public school. D.G.E. Wood went to a public school in or near Bristol, but I don’t know which one. A long standing loyal protector of Dafydd and the gang was Lord David Hunt. Hunt was MP for Wirral and then Wirral West, 1976-97 and served as a junior Minister in the Welsh Office and as Secretary of State for Wales twice. David Hunt did his law degree in Bristol and is of a similar vintage to D.G.E. Wood. Before Hunt was elected to the Commons, Lilibet gave him an MBE for services to politics in the west of England. I’d love to know what those services were. Lord Hunt continues to do his best for the paedophiles’ friends. Hunt’s international law firm DAC Beachcroft now works on behalf of Top Doctors who have found themselves in trouble.

One of Edward du Cann’s earliest scams was perpetrated when he was a Director of BAC (British Car Auctions), a company founded by David Wickins, alongside whom du Cann served in the Royal Naval Reserve. British Car Auctions group was the world’s biggest second-hand car business. David Wickins was a long-time friend and business associate of both Denis and Mark Thatcher.

BAC flourished first as Southern Counties Car Auctions, but soon outgrew the name as auction sites were opened throughout the country. Among regular sellers were the Post Office, the Ministry of Defence and the regional gas boards. Potential problems with buyers were overcome by selling vehicles only as seen on the most perfunctory inspection and enforcing a foolproof payment system. Wickins also bought up several car auction businesses in the US, building a highly profitable empire which was eventually selling a million cars a year.

Wickins’s long friendship with Denis Thatcher was cemented by golf and lubricated by gins and tonic in the Sunningdale clubhouse. Wickins was part-owner in a waste-disposal business called Attwoods, of which Denis was a Director, while BCA was a sponsor of Mark Thatcher’s short-lived motor racing career. It was Mark who introduced Wickins to Lotus in 1983.

Lotus was famed for financial instability as much as engineering excellence and was in deep trouble at the time. The company was losing money and its recently deceased founder Colin Chapman had been implicated in the DeLorean scandal: Lotus had undertaken a redesign contract for the ill-fated car project, based in N Ireland, from which large sums of money provided by Gov’t grants had disappeared. As a result, the company was besieged by Inland Revenue inspectors, who imposed an £84 million ‘protective assessment’.

Mark Thatcher arranged for Lotus’s Directors to meet Wickins, who took a 29 per cent stake, became Chairman, resisted the taxmen and brought in other investors, including the Bamford family. As demand for exotic cars grew with the 1980s boom Lotus’s fortunes swiftly recovered and in 1986 – again through Mark’s introduction – the business was sold to General Motors. In the meantime, Wickins gave Mark a job as a consultant to BCA’s American subsidiary, declaring that he was sure that Mark would be a great asset.

Favoured regulars attending Wickins’s car auctions were treated to lunch in his lavishly-appointed dining room overlooking the ring at Frimley, where the original field was developed into a multi-million-pound auction complex.

Upon leaving school, David Wickens took articles with the accountants Deloitte & Co, where he was posted to South Africa. There he worked on audits for Rhodesian copper mines and Zambian sawmills until the outbreak of war in 1939, when he enlisted in the South African Navy. After 18 months Wickens returned to England on secondment to the Royal Navy and brother officers Edward du Cann and the future entrepreneur and yachtsman Owen Aisher became lifelong friends.

At the end of the war Wickins was offered a permanent commission in the South African Navy, but he entered ‘business’ instead, in the auction trade and also in the buying, selling and floating of companies. Wickins assisted in the flotation of the Forte family’s catering and restaurant business and was a generous sponsor of sport, both of major events and of individual sportsmen such as the young Nick Faldo and the jockey Bob Champion. When BCA sponsored the Wightman Cup in 1989, the year of Wickins’s retirement, the Thatchers opened the doors of 10 Downing Street for a splendid party.

David Wickins also enjoyed racing International One design yachts and, later, motor cruising. He owned a string of racehorses and in retirement on Majorca he bred Great Danes.

Wickens was a ‘ladies’ man’ and employed ‘pretty girls’ as pilots for his helicopters and aircraft and as chauffeurs for his cars. He was married at least three times and possibly, although his own account varied, six.

When the wider world finally got a glimpse of the sort of man that Denis Thatcher was, many people were entertained to find that he was remarkably like the satirical portrayal of him in the ‘Dear Bill’ letters in ‘Private Eye’, a gin sodden golf club bore, who’s friend Maurice sold goods out of car boots. On one memorable occasion, Denis observed to Bill that ‘I had no idea that those friends of Maurice’s were in the Mafia’. Following the success of the ‘Dear Bill’ letters, in 1981 John Wells embarked upon his ‘Anyone for Denis?’ stage play, the catch phrase being ‘Stop me and buy me one’.

It was Richard Ingrams who wrote the ‘Dear Bill’ letters. I wonder if he based them on David Wickins.

As for William Waldegrave, the snooty aristo who did the dirty work of this collection of wide-boys, conmen and gangsters, he is constantly constructed as a being a man with great intellectual gifts. So Waldegrave hasn’t even got the excuse that he was as thick as Thatcher.

During the late 1980s and 90s, a number of people in Somerset who knew what was happening to me in north Wales, like Edward du Cann, inexplicably found themselves in possession of a great deal of money. I explained in my post ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’ that some of that money had arrived in the form of a cheque from Coutts. William Waldegrave is someone who is involved with Coutts.

The IFBB’s Trustee David Ramsbotham became an honorary Fellow of Corpus Christie College, Cambridge in 2001 and serves on the Advisory Board of the International Centre for Prison Studies at King’s College, London. He is also a Patron of Prisoners Abroad and the Prison Education Trust. Ramsbotham is also Patron of the African Prisons Project and President of PTSD Resolution, providing veterans with treatment for PTSD.

I can’t find any mention of Dafydd on the website of PTSD Resolution, but I’d be surprised if he hasn’t been associated with them at some point. It was Dafydd after all who invented PTSD and who subsequently made a mint from it (see post ‘Feet In Chains’). This is not to suggest that I do not believe that soldiers suffer from severe psychological distress during or after combat, it rather suggests that I believe that they do, but that Dafydd just made it all up as he went along as he usually does and that no soldiers or indeed anyone else benefited from PTSD Dafydd-style.

Ramsbotham is also an ambassador for the charity SkillForce.

David Ramsbotham has written extensively on matters relating to prisons and the military. His 2003 book ‘Prisongate: The Shocking State of Britain’s Prisons and the Need for Visionary Change’ sets out his ‘vision for reform’ of the prison system.

The discourse surrounding prisons and prison reform is remarkably similar to that which surrounds the mental health system. After a few years of involvement at a senior level, the post holder tells the world that the system is dangerous, degrading, damaging, not doing what it should and is in desperate need of ‘reform’. No reform ever happens. What does happen is that the person who has just pronounced then spends the next few years clocking up a whole load of appointments with other organisations in the field, all of whom agree that Something Must Be Done and who promise a new vision.

Meanwhile, another person succeeds the post which has just been vacated, someone else who, like the last incumbent, has the necessary CV involving some sort of career which has involved keeping quiet for decades about state wrongdoing that has been concealed at the highest levels . After seven or eight years, they too will stand down, announce that the system is terrible, write a book and then take a senior role in organisations which promise a new vision, a new line of researching the problem etc etc.

Ronnie Waterhouse went one better than this. After a lifetime of service to a paedophile gang as a corrupt barrister and then a corrupt judge, Ronnie Chaired the monumental cover-up which was the massively expensive public inquiry into the activities of that paedophile ring and subsequently became Patron of the charidee Voices From Care, representing kids in care. One of the Trustees then nicked the funds.

So I was delighted to read in the media this weekend that there is a mental health crisis in the UK, we’re all mentally ill on a scale never seen before…1 in 4… a Cinderella service…caring nurses exhausted…no community services…talking treatments needed…all a matter of funding and resources…

I think that we’ve been here before. I was first subjected to this discourse by a nurse called Ingrid when I sat in the North Wales Hospital, unlawfully imprisoned in Dec 1986. I told Ingrid that this was a thoroughly abusive, corrupt institution staffed by people who did not give a damn about the patients. Ingrid yelled at me that they cared and it was very offensive of me to state that they didn’t. She then walked off in tears. Ingrid wasn’t Dafydd, but she knew what he was doing and when after a very long time and a pitched battle on my part to finally get an investigation held into my complaint – which was Chaired by Dafydd’s mate Robert Bluglass who concealed Dafydd’s crimes anyway (see post ‘Enter Professor Bluglass CBE’) – Ingrid refused to give evidence at the hearing.

Now stop this nonsense, get a team out to the North Wales Hospital Denbigh and excavate the whole site. Bring those bodies up, admit that they were concealed there in the 1970s and 80s, not the 1870s and 80s, identify them and face the world with what has gone on. Then never again consult the BMA, the GMC or the Royal Colleges on any health or social policy matter.

‘We didn’t know.’

Then how did those bodies find their way there? And why were their owners never reported missing? Denis Nilsen murdering young homeless men whom no-one even realised had vanished had nothing on the North Wales Hospital.

The first Chief Inspector of Prisons for England and Wales to be appointed was Philip Barry, who only served between 1981-82. Dafydd’s empire was at full strength at this time, although there was all that dreadful publicity about Mary Wynch who had been unlawfully arrested and imprisoned by Dafydd only two years previously and was now taking the first steps on her path to legal action against Dafydd, Clwyd Health Authority and Risley Remand Centre. Other people were suffering as badly as Mary had. The Birmingham Six and many others were languishing in various prisons after having been framed and kids in care and mental health patients, many of whom had also been fitted up, were dying in Risley Remand Centre (see post ‘Include Me Out’).

Curiously enough, the internet seems to have been erased of virtually all details pertaining to Philip Barry, although he also held the role of Chief Inspector for Prisons for Scotland, 1980-86.

Sir James Patrick Ivan Hennessey succeeded Philip Barry and was Chief Inspector of Prisons for England and Wales, 1982 -87. Dafydd’s regime was still so much intact that in 1987 he and his colleagues embarked on a well planned co-ordinated attempt to frame me and have me imprisoned for ‘attempting to stab a doctor’ (see posts ‘Workers’ Play Time’ and ‘Security, Security’). The plan fell apart after Sergeant Morgan at Bangor Police Station and a senior nurse, Jeff Crowther, didn’t tell the required lies. Within two years Sgt Morgan had been found guilty of indecently assaulting a teenaged girl in custody and was sacked. Jeff seemed to know that Sgt Morgan was going to be found guilty before his trial had begun. Shortly before the Waterhouse Inquiry, Jeff’s wife died whilst ‘in the care of’ Ysbyty Gwynedd. A few weeks later Jeff had to go into hiding after an addict threatened to murder him. Jeff left north Wales not long after. Documents in my possession demonstrate that Risley Remand Centre and the Mental Health Act Commission were on board with the plan to frame and imprison me.

James Hennessey was educated at Bedford School and then King’s College, Durham (now part of Newcastle University). He joined the Royal Artillary and was later being seconded to the Indian Army, 1944-46. After WWII, Hennessy joined what was then HM Overseas Service, serving initially in South Africa from 1948 in a number of roles. He was seconded in 1961 to the Office of the High Commissioner in Pretoria and took on a number of positions in the Gov’t of South Africa. Hennessey retired from the Overseas Service in 1968 and was appointed to the Foreign Office, serving as Charge d’Affaires to Montevideo, Uruguay, 1971–72 and then High Commissioner to Kampala, Uganda and non-resident Ambassador to Kigali, Rwanda, 1973–76. Hennessey served as Consul-General in Cape Town, 1977-80, before ending his career as the last Governor and Commander-in-Chief of British Honduras (now Belize), 1980–81.

Hennessy’s wiki entry tells us that he was appointed Chief Inspector of Prisons, taking over from Bill Pearce, ‘previously the Chief Inspector of Probation for Inner London whose tenure as HMCIP was cut short by illness’. Bill Pearce is someone else who has been airbrushed out of history, but him being the Chief Inspector of Probation for Inner London at a time when the Probation Service across the UK was colluding with serious crime including the organised abuse of children and vulnerable adults suggests that the Prisons Inspectorate made an interesting choice when they appointed him. The Home Secretary at the time was Willie Whitelaw who was a faithful servant of Dafydd and the paedophiles for decades (see previous posts).

James Hennessey served a five-year term until 1987. After stepping down, Hennessy served on the Parole Board for England and Wales until 1991, joining the paedophiles’ friends sitting on the Parole Board, including the Top Docs who colluded with Dafydd, ie. Colin Berry, David Mawson and others.

Hennesey was a Trustee of the Butler Trust until 1998.The Butler Trust was named after Mr Conservative Party Rab Butler, who influenced criminal justice policy for decades after he retired from politics (see post ‘Rab Butler, High Table And The Founding Fathers’). The Butler Trust was set up in 1985 by Veronica Linklater, former prison governor Rev Peter Timms and David Astor, former editor of ‘The Observer’, to recognise and celebrate outstanding practice by those working with offenders, through an annual award scheme.

Veronica Linklater, Baroness Linklater of Butterstone is a Lib Dem peer. Her interests are in children’s welfare, education and special needs, and prison reform. Linklater is the daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Archibald Michael Lyle and the Hon. Elizabeth Sinclair, younger daughter of the former Leader of the Liberal Party, 1935-45, Archibald Sinclair, 1st Viscount Thurso.

Veronica’s grandfather Sinclair was a friend of Churchill and served as Churchill’s Personal Military Secretary, 1919-21, when Churchill was Secretary of State for War and then moved with Churchill to the Colonial Office as his Private Secretary. In 1922 Sinclair entered the Commons and supported David Lloyd George. In 1931 the Liberal Party joined the National Gov’t of Ramsay MacDonald and Sinclair was appointed Secretary of State for Scotland. When Churchill formed an all-party Coalition Government in 1940, Sinclair entered the Cabinet as Secretary of State for Air and worked with the RAF in planning the Battle of Britain. He remained a Minister until May 1945 when the Coalition ended. Sinclair lost his seat in the 1945 General Election.

Archibald Sinclair’s grandson, Veronica’s cousin, John Archibald Sinclair, 3rd Viscount Thurso, is also a Lib Dem politician, as well as a Scottish businessman. He occupied his grandfather’s seat in the Commons, 2001-15. John Thurso had entered the Lords when he inherited his father’s title in 1995, but lost his seat in 1999 when the automatic right of hereditary peers to sit in the Lords when abolished. After losing his seat in the Commons, Thurso was back in the Lords in April 2016, after winning a by-election to a vacancy in the Lords following the death of Liberal Party grandee Lord Avebury aka Eric Lubbock, a faithful paedophiles’ friend (see post ‘He Knows Where The Bodies Are Buried’). John Thurso’s father Robin, the 2nd Viscount Thurso was also a Liberal Party politician and sat on the Scottish Liberal Party Executive.

The male Thursos all went to Eton and they’ll all have known about the excesses of Jeremy Thorpe.

Veronica didn’t go to Eton, being female, but she knew about Jeremy Thorpe. As well as Cyril Smith and no doubt all the others. Veronica was educated at Cranborne Chase School in Wiltshire, followed by the Universities of Sussex and London. In 1967 Veronica married the journalist Magnus Linklater. Magnus Linklater pompouses at length in the media and is on record as saying that ‘the social sciences and humanities are automatically inferior explanatory models’ to the sciences. Magnus Linklater was the editor of ‘The Sunday Times’ when in 1983 it made itself a laughing stock by publishing the forged Hitler Diaries. Linklater later blamed it all on Murdoch, claiming that of course he, Magnus, saw straight through the forgeries but Murdoch forced him to publish. Which sounds rather like an inferior explanatory model to me Magnus.

Magnus manages the Scottish estates of Veronica’s family – like Veronica’s male relatives, Magnus went to Eton and he was also Chairman of the Scottish Arts Council, 1996-01. Which neatly spanned the years of the Waterhouse Inquiry, it’s publication and the immediate aftermath when the outrage regarding the blatant cover-up was at its peak. I cannot think how being Chairman of the Scottish Arts Council could be linked to Waterhouse, but I bet it was because of a few of Veronica’s former jobs.

In 1967, Veronica became a Child Care Officer for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and between 1970–85, she became governor to three Islington Schools. Tower Hamlets sent a lot of kids in care into the arms of John Allen and the paedophile gang in north Wales (see post ‘Tower Hamlets, Paul Boateng And Tessa Jowell’). Many of them were then trafficked back to London and Brighton, where some of them made up the cohort of high profile young men who died of AIDS in the late 1980s (see posts ‘Apocalypse Now’ and ‘The Bodies Buried Beneath Canary Wharf’). The Islington Child Abuse Scandal was in full swing while Veronica was governor of those schools and she will have known about it.

Veronica’s good works knew no bounds. From 1971-77, Veronica co-founded the Visitors’ Centre at Pentonville Prison and her continuing interest in this field led to her involvement with the Prison Reform Trust, 1981-82.

Baroness Jean Trumpington served as a visitor at Pentonville Prison. Trumpers was the junior Health Minister who appointed Jimmy Savile to the task force which managed Broadmoor. Trumpers was also mates with Rab Butler, after his political career, in his capacity as Master of Trinity College, Cambridge. See post ’95 Glorious Years’.

Veronica is a Trustee of the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.

Veronica bagged her peerage in Nov 1997. After Ronnie Waterhouse had spent a few months telling the former residents of the children’s homes in north Wales that they were a bunch of lying gits who were only after compensation.

The Rev Peter Timms, who established the Butler Trust with Veronica, is a Methodist Minister and the former Governor of Maidstone Prison and Young Offenders Institute Glen Parva. When he was Governor of Maidstone Prison, Peter Timms opened the first prison wing related to the treatment of sex offenders. Peter Timms would have known George Thomas, the former Speaker of the House, who was probably the most well-known Methodist in the UK for decades and who preached across the country. George Thomas was also a paedophile who serially assaulted underaged boys. See post ‘It Wasn’t On Our Radar’.

Glen Parva is located in Leicestershire, the site of a long standing paedophile ring, which was concealed by politicians, Leicester University, Leicester City Council, the Leicestershire Police, local lawyers and courts, the areas schools and of course the NHS and social services (see previous posts). The Leicester gang had links to Dafydd et al in north Wales and concealed their crimes (see post ‘An Expert From England’)

In 1997, the Chief Inspector of Prisons walked out of an inspection at Glen Parva because conditions were so bad. After a subsequent inspection a year later, the report stated that there was ‘hope for the future’ for the prison but added that a lot of work still needed to be done and recommended that some staff should be moved because of their attitude towards inmates. In July 2002, four inmates from Glen Parva escaped whilst on a camping trip in the Peak District. In its annual report in 2003, the Board of Visitors revealed two serious cases of unrest at Glen Parva. On one occasion, 16 inmates barricaded themselves inside a building. The report blamed an unprecedented rise in the number of inmates at the prison and also the fact that some inmates were bored and unsettled, finding themselves hundreds of miles from home.

In Nov 2004, the Prison Reform Trust condemned Glen Parva for the high amount of time inmates spent in their cells and for the lack of time spent in ‘useful activity’ at the prison. Statistics for 2003-2004 showed that on average inmates spent just 17.3 hours a week in useful activity, and an average of just another seven hours a week out of their cells.

In Feb 2010 the Prisons Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) described conditions at Glen Parva as ‘deplorable’. Their report said ‘water from the prison’s poorly-maintained toilet plumbing system leaked out of the pipes and seeped through the walls,’ causing ‘a horrible smell that fills the corridors and cells on regular occasions’ and that the prison ‘operates within the confines of a sprawling campus of largely shabby buildings which continue to degrade over time, despite the best efforts of the management and staff.’ The Board also warned that the policy of transferring prisoners into Glen Parva from other regions ‘has recently introduced an increasing level of gang rivalry, thereby adding yet another dimension to an already toxic melting pot’.

In Aug 2016, ambulance personnel called to the prison criticised staff for their lack of urgency when faced with a life threatening medical emergency. The Healthcare Centre at Glen Parva has 14 inpatient beds with 24-hour nursing cover. Many health services at the prison are provided by Leicestershire Primary Care Trust. Whose staff have concealed organised abuse and a dangerous mental health service for years.

Towards the end of 2016 it was announced that HMP Glen Parva would close and be replaced with a newly built category C adult prison. It will be completely demolished and redeveloped with a new built prison on the site.

The Rev Peter Timms is or was Chair of the Loudon Trust. The other members of the Loudon Trust are virtually entirely Top Docs working in secure mental health units specialising in ‘treatment’ for sex offenders. Every one of the institutions in which this lot are employed has colluded with organised abuse and the associated crime.

Veronica’s and Peter Timms’s mate David Astor built up a reputation as an impeccably liberal editor with integrity and a concern for radical causes. David Astor forgot any such concerns when he was called upon to help handle the family crisis which was the fall out from the Profumo Affair (see post ‘In Memoriam – Bronwen, Lady Astor’).

The Chief Inspector of Prisons 1987-95 was judge Sir Stephen Tumim. Tumim was appointed by Dafydd’s mate Douglas Hurd and although Tumim made many outraged noises about the disgusting conditions in England and Wales’s prisons, not a great deal changed. The Risley Remand Centre riots happened on Tumim’s watch and although Tumim was not shy in describing the conditions in Risley as terrible and Michael Mansfield represented some of the rioters, no-one mentioned that the ‘hospital wing’ was full of people from children’s homes in north Wales and mental health patients, who had not been found guilty of any offence (see posts ‘Workers’Play Time’ and ‘Include Me Out’). Risley went off like a bomb in 1989, which was shortly after people in Somerset who knew what was happening to me in north Wales began to find themselves rubbing shoulders with the renegade relatives of leading Tories and their friends and in receipt of a great deal of money themselves (see post ‘Upper Class Twit Of The Year – Shooting Themselves’).

Tumim was the son of a barrister and was educated at St Edward’s School, Oxford and Worcester College, Oxford. In 1978 Tumim became a County Court Circuit Judge. Tumim’s contract was not renewed by Home Secretary Michael Howard in 1995 and David Ramsbotham was appointed.

Tumim was knighted soon afterwards, just before the Waterhouse Inquiry. He served on many charitable trusts and was close to numerous paedophiles’ friends who involved themselves in supposedly worthy causes, including some of those directly associated with the cover-up which was Waterhouse (see post ‘The Waterhouse  Tribunal – Who Was Involved And What Happened To Them Subsequently?’).

Tumim was the founding President of UNLOCK, the National Association of Ex-Offenders. Between 1996-98 he was Principal of St Edmund Hall, Oxford, leaving amidst some controversy (he was popular with students, less so with academic colleagues). He was High Steward for Wallingford, 1995-01. Tumim was on the committee and a buyer for the Contemporary Art Society. He was President of the Royal Literary Fund, 1990-03.

  • Dame Anne Elizabeth Owers succeeded David Ramsbotham as Chief Inspector of Prisons and was in post, 2001-10. Blair’s Gov’t was so pleased with Anne Owers that her appointment was renewed in June 2006 and again in March 2008. Anne Owers had also pursued a career which involved keeping quiet about state abuses, which will have been why Home Secretary David Blunkett appointed her. When Home Secretary, Blunkett gave a Citizen’s Award to a woman who lived in a village near Caernarfon who intimidated neighbours with mental health problems, who spoke out in the local press about the problem of mentally ill black criminals and who was related to someone who raped a girl under 7 yrs old, but the rest of the village were intimidated into keeping quiet about that.
  • Owers was educated at  Washington Grammar School, Co Durham and studied history at Girton College, Cambridge. On graduating Owers went to Zambia to teach. Owers took time out to raise a family and also undertook ‘research and voluntary advice and race relations work’. She joined the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants in 1981 as a research and development officer and was appointed its General Secretary in 1985. In June 2008, Owers was appointed Chairman of Christian Aid, succeeding John Gladwin. In 2010 Owers was appointed Chairman of Clinks, a charidee supporting the work of the voluntary and community sector working with offenders and their families and also Chaired a review of prisons in N Ireland, 2010-11. In March 2012 Owers was appointed Chair of the Independent Police Complaints Commission. Prior to this, she was Director of JUSTICE.
  • Owers was appointed as the first National Chair of the Independent Monitoring Boards by in Oct 2017 by Justice Secretary David Lidington. Lidington’s name, in his capacity as a junior official in the Home Office, appeared on Home Office documentation in relation to Lord Peter Taylor’s 1989 interim Report into Hillsborough, a Report which it seems was drafted before the Home Office stated that it was completed and which was not actually signed by Lord Taylor. Douglas Hurd was Home Secretary at the time. When porkies were being told by the Home Office about Peter Taylor’s Report, the Home Office were colluding with the crimes of Dafydd and the paedophile gang (see post ‘Additional Security Measures’).

Owers was also a non-executive Director of the Criminal Cases Review Commission and a member of the advisory group to the Lammy Review of race and criminal justice. Like James Hennessy, Owers  is a Trustee of the Butler Trust.

In 2012 Anne Owers won the Perrie Award. The Perrie Award has been presented annually since 1995 by the Perrie Lectures Committee to the person who has done most to promote an understanding of the work of the Prison Service in England and Wales and pushed forward the development of penal policy. The award and the associated lectures aim to improve the care of offenders and advance penal policy. The organising committee is made up of members from within the penal service (National Offender Management Service, NOMS) and from academia, charities and other fields.

Six years after Dame Anne won the Perrie Award, there has been a stream of scandals emanating from prisons in England and Wales. Prisoners are either out of their heads on spice or are injuring and killing themselves and in recent months it has been admitted that there is a substantial problem with the standard of ‘training’ of prison officers. Conditions at Liverpool Prison were damned as being the worst that the prison has experienced for decades only a few weeks ago and builders contracted by Liverpool Prison were dismissed after they raised Health and Safety concerns. The perennial problem of the prisons being full of people with mental health problems or addictions rather than villains continues.

The outcomes of the NOMS itself remain depressingly poor.

The Perrie award was named in honour of Bill Perrie (1918-1997), regarded as one of the leading prison governors of his time. Because conditions in prisons were just so great when Bill was busy being a leading governor weren’t they. Previous lucky winners of the Perrie Award include Stephen Tumim and David Ramsbotham. Why does that not surprise me? Other winners include Tony Pearson (former Deputy Director, Prison Service); John Staples (former prison governor); Lord Chief Justice Woolf; Colin Allen (Deputy Chief Inspector of Prisons, 1995-02); Sir Martin Narey, former DG of Prison Service for England and Wales and a good friend of the paedophiles (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part V’); Alison Liebling of Cambridge University, who is one member of the network of criminologists who have kept silent about some real horrors discussed in my post ‘Rab Butler, High Table And The Founding Fathers’.

As Young Mr Grace used to say on ‘Are You Being Served’ ‘You’re all doing very well!’

Former Christian Aid Chairman John Gladwin was Bishop of Guildford, 1994-04, then of Chelmsford from 2004 until he retired in 2009, whereupon he became Chairman of CAB. John Gladwin would have known about the sex abuse scandals in the Church which have now become very public.

Lucille Hughes has been involved with the senior management of the CAB in Wales for quite some time and has attracted more paedophiles’ friends into the organisation. Ronnie Waterhouse was involved with the establishment of the CAB in the Royal Courts of Justice at The Strand, a CAB which was entirely controlled by a number of people who also doubled up as paedophiles’ friends. When the gang in north Wales took me to the Royal Courts of Justice in 1991 in an attempt to have me imprisoned, I didn’t notice the CAB of which Ronnie boasted and no-one alerted me to its presence either.

Someone who has been involved with Christian Aid in Wales for many years – I think that she was Director of Christian Aid in Wales at one point – was Branwen Niclas. Branwen caused quite a stir when I lived near Bethesda as a result of her Welsh language activism; she had a long involvement with the Welsh Language Society. She very effectively trashed some sort of Gov’t office at Colwyn Bay – I can’t remember which one exactly – for which she was imprisoned. I think that Branwen was at one point the girlfriend of Hywel Williams, the former psychiatric social worker who is now the Plaid MP for Arfon.

Branwen’s family home ie. that of her parents, was near Tal-y-bont, down the bottom of the hill from the village where I lived. I was friendly with some people who knew her father, mathematician and teacher James Nicholas. James Nicholas died in 2013 and Meic Stephens wrote his obituary for the Indie.

James Nicholas, served as Archdruid for the Gorsedd of the Bards, 1981-84 and had won the Chair at the National Eisteddfod of 1969. He ‘lent his support to the law-breaking campaigns of the Welsh Language Society and, further afield, the horrors of apartheid and the plight of the Third World were always prominent on his agenda’.

James Nicholas was influenced by the pacifist poet Waldo Williams (1904-71), with whom he had a close personal friendship. He wrote about Waldo’s mysticism and attraction in later life to Quakerism, delivered a moving funeral address, edited a volume of memorial essays and gave lectures on Williams.

James Nicholas was born in St David’s in Pembrokeshire in 1928. Because as a school boy he spent two years in a sanatorium, he was 20 before he left St David’s Grammar School for the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, where he took a degree in mathematics. His first teaching post was at Bala.

Nicholas then moved to Dyfed, being appointed Head of Mathematics at Pembroke in 1959 and Headmaster of Ysgol y Preseli at Crymych in 1963.

As well as Branwen, the Nicholas’s had another daughter, Saran, who is a Top Doctor, a haematologist with Hywel Dda University Health Board.

James Nicholas was a staunch member of the Welsh Baptist Union, which he served as President. During his time as Headmaster at Crymych he was awarded a fellowship in the Philosophy Department at the University College, Swansea. From 1975 until his retirement in 1988, Nicholas was a member of HM Inspectorate of Schools and based in Gwynedd.

Meic Stephens tells us that Nicholas ‘proved a pillar of common sense and the utmost integrity while acting as Recorder’ at the National Eisteddfod.

James Nicholas knew about Dafydd and the paedophiles, of that there is no doubt. He lived his entire life surrounded by them. I do not interpret that as meaning that James was of them or even liked what they were doing, he could well have been horrified yet helpless, but he knew what was happening.
There were trafficking gangs in west Wales and in north Wales, which were linked. Swansea University hosted Dafydd’s mate Saunders Lewis and the succeeding generation who ran that institution were the family of Rhodri Morgan (see posts ‘A Bit More Paleontology’ and ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’). Numerous paedophiles’ friends were enthusiastic about the National Eisteddfod, as was Dafydd. Dafydd addressed the Welsh Baptists Union in 1971 (see post ‘A Serious Moral Collapse’). Owain Gethin Evans was the Assistant Director of Gwynedd Social Services in the 1980s when the gang were busy in the children’s homes in Gwynedd and was a leading light in the Quakers in Gwynedd. Gethin was Lucille Hughes’s henchman and was involved in smearing and excluding Alison Taylor after she blew the whistle on the abuse of children. Dr Paul Nickson, a GP in Bethesda, was another Quaker who colluded with the abuse of children and mental health patients (see post ‘Pets Win Prizes’).
When James Nicholas was employed as a Schools Inspector in Gwynedd, numerous staff in Gwynedd schools and in Gwynedd County Council’s Education Authority were colluding with the abuse of children (see posts ‘Today We Have Naming Of Parts’ and ‘Dulce et Decorum est’).
Branwen will have known something about Dafydd and the gang as well. The Welsh Language Society contained mates of Dafydd – although by no means all members of the Welsh Language Society had time for him – and Meri Huws occupied a leading role in the Welsh Language Society when Branwen was actively campaigning with them. Meri Huws worked as a community social worker with Gwynedd Social Services on the Maesgeirchan estate in Bangor when the kids from Ty’r Felin children’s homes on that estate were being trafficked for sex locally and to Dolphin Square. Branwen may well be one of those who detested Meri – a great many people involved in language activism don’t have a good word to say for Meri and I have never seen any accounts of Branwen and her fellow activist Angharad Tomos being involved in anything with the dreadful Meri – but Branwen will have known what Meri’s time as a social worker involved.
I note that Branwen’s twitter account describes her as a mother of four who lives in Menai Bridge. Branwen’s tweets contain references to all sorts of activism past and present and there are the obligatory tweets pledging undying support for the NHS. Therein lies the clue. Branwen, her Top Doc sister, her dad and everyone else in their network will know that the Top Doctors were integral to the operation of that trafficking gang and are now integral to ensuring that everyone keeps quiet about them. Squealers find themselves denied all NHS care, no matter how many denials of this are made. It happens and everyone knows it. Branwen has four children, I can completely understand why she is not going to risk it.
Well dim problem Branwen, they killed one of my closest friends years ago and they’ve denied me treatment for every one of the three serious conditions that I’ve had. I was left to die and this was made quite clear. A letter from an NHS manager admitting that I was being denied treatment was destroyed by a GP because of the legal bomb which it constituted (see post ‘Rab Butler, High Table And The Founding Fathers’). So I’m happy to write this blog, name everybody involved and detail their crimes and furthermore I’m providing this service free of charge.
Branwen’s father lived just down the road from the corrupt judge Huw Daniel, who spent a lifetime assisting the paedophiles’ friends. Huw’s dad J.E. Daniel was a tutor at the Bala Theological College. J.E. Daniel was an Inspector of Schools in the generation before James Nicholas. J.E. Daniel was also a friend of Saunders Lewis who was a mate of Dafydd’s! Up the hill from Branwen’s dad’s house was the village of Llanllechid, where Ioan Bowen Rees, the Chief Exec of Gwynedd County Council lived (see post ‘I Know Nuzzing…’).
James Nicholas, Ioan Bowen Rees and Huw Daniel all occupied a Plas. The rest of us slummed it in the quarrymen’s cottages.

Nick Hardwick was Chief Inspector of Prisons, 2010-16. Nick is someone who built his whole career on his knowledge of the crimes of the paedophiles’ friends (see post ‘Yet More Inglorious Bastards’) and was succeeded by Peter Clarke.

When Peter Clarke was appointed, Mark Leech, editor of ‘The Prisons Handbook’, published a highly insulting ‘open letter’ to Peter Clarke, giving Peter Clarke a bollocking for not being Nick Hardwick. Mark Leech seemed very cross that Clarke was not an insider with a track record of keeping quiet about Gov’t failure and wrongdoing, but instead has had a career as a police office. Mr Leech reminded Mr Clarke of the great work of those giants Stephen Tumim and David Ramsbotham…

Peter Clarke was personally invited to apply for the position of Chief Inspector of Prisons by Michael Gove when Gove was Justice Secretary. Gove did insane things when he was Education Secretary, but he was suddenly overcome by a great deal of sense when he became Justice Secretary and Lord Chancellor. He identified which parties were responsible for the nation’s lethal, sclerotic, corrupt Prison Service and Gove did try to effect change. So that must have been why he was removed by Theresa after only one year in the post and was replaced by the drip Liz Truss and then by the former minion in Hurd’s rotten to the core Home Office, David Lidington.

I mentioned the Prison Reform Trust (PRT) earlier in this post. The PRT is yet another organisation which has made zero impact since its foundation in 1981 by a ‘small group of prison reform campaigners who were unhappy with the direction in which the Howard League for Penal Reform was heading, concentrating more on community punishments than on traditional prison reform issues’. PRT offers advice and information to prisoners, their families, prison and probation staff, the legal profession, students, academics and interested members of the public. PRT organise an annual lecture, which in 2005 was delivered by Charles Clarke, the Home Secretary. That’ll be the Charles Clarke who was responsible for the Windbag’s office throughout those years when the Windbag desperately wanted to become PM and his only strategy for this was to conceal the mountain of crap in north Wales and beg the staff of the NHS to vote Labour (see post ‘I Warn You…’). The Windbag knew Dafydd’s colleague Tony Francis when they were students in Cardiff. I wonder if Charles Clarke ever bumped into Tony Francis, Dafydd and co were busy making friends all over the place after Brown and I began to uncover the enormity of their crimes.

The Windbag and his wife listening to Ed’s 2013 Party Conference speech:

Neil Kinnock Ed Miliband Gives Keynote Speech at Party Conference

The Prison Reform Trust carries out research on all aspects of prison. Recent studies include: prisoners’ views on prison education, the mental health needs of women prisoners, older prisoners, prisoner councils, foreign national prisoners, prisoner votes and a report into how sentences make the decision to imprison offenders.

Founding members included Sir Monty Finniston and dear old Veronica Linklater, who is obviously determined to help those who have gone off the rails.

Monty Finniston was metallurgist who was a graduate of and then a lecturer at the Glasgow University. He spent WWII in the Royal Naval Scientific Service, seconded to the Chalk River Laboratories in Canada, working on the application of nuclear power to submarines.  After the war Finniston was appointed Chief Metallurgist at the Atomic Energy Authority, Harwell, 1948-58.

Finniston initiated and oversaw a wide-ranging research programme into the many metallurgical problems associated with nuclear reactor design. In 1958 Finniston moved to north-east England to become Director of the Nuclear Research Centre newly founded by the Newcastle engineering firm C.A. Parsons. He was Vice-President of the Royal Society, 1971-2 and became Chairman of British Steel Corporation in 1973.

In response to complaints from industry about a shortage of qualified engineers, in 1977 Callaghan’s Gov’t invited Finniston to set up a Committee of Enquiry into British Engineering. In 1979 the Finniston Report was published, which addressed the concerns that engineering was of relatively low status in the UK.

Sir Monty Finniston was Chancellor of Stirling University, 1979-88. He was President of the Association for Project Management, 1984-91.

There is nothing in Finniston’s biography that indicates why he would be interested in Chairing an organisation dedicated to prison reform. However, as someone who worked in the nuclear industry at Harwell during the 1950s, Finniston would know about Macmillan’s cover-up which followed the Windscale accident, which occurred just after Dafydd had left his job at Windscale to study medicine at Liverpool University. Like Dafydd, Finniston will have known about the corrupt practices of Ernest Marples, one of the Ministers involved and his use of prostitutes. See post ‘Those Who Are Ready To Serve’ for details.

It was in 1980 that Mary Wynch finally escaped the clutches of Dafydd and the gang after being unlawfully arrested, imprisoned and then banged up in the North Wales Hospital Denbigh for a year. Like Alison Taylor and I, Mary was not easily intimidated and in 1980 Dafydd et al will have realised that there was trouble coming their way. So I wonder if someone somewhere thought that a new organisation concerning itself with locking people up, rather than as the Howard League were more interested in, community sentences, might be required in the wake of Mary’s dissent? Whatever would have happened if Mary’s case was used by campaigners to highlight the abuses of the Prison Service?  Monty Finniston might have been willing to help.

Monty was an accommodating man after all. He was a leading light in the nuclear industry which was beset by problems with the potential to cause maximum embarrassment to Gov’ts and he helped out old Callaghan by setting up the Committee of Inquiry as requested. Monty also did Gov’t a few favours when he was Chancellor of Stirling University. Stirling students were fairly politically active and there was a huge row as well as student protests when the journalist Alastair Hetherington was appointed to a Research Chair in 1982 (see post ‘Life In Cold Blood’). Hetherington had no academic background, but he was the sort of appointment that Thatch’s Gov’t were trying to encourage universities to make, that of people with links to Gov’t and industry who excelled at toadying to Important People.

Monty was Chancellor when Jack McConnell, who later became FM of Scotland, was a student at Stirling and then led the Students’ Union there.

Stephen Shaw was Director of PRT from 1981-99 and then became the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman for England and Wales, 1999-10. In 2001 Shaw’s remit was extended to taking complaints about National Probation Service and in 2006 was extended again to taking complaints regarding those detained in immigration centres. A whole series of disasters and scandals occurred when Stephen Shaw was Director of the PRT and nothing improved in any of the areas for which he had responsibility.

Sir Monty Finniston was succeeded as Chair of the PRT by the former Cabinet Minister, Edmund Dell, the MP for Birkenhead, 1964-79. Dell began life in the Commons as a Labour MP but in 1981 he joined Dr Death in the SDP. In 1988, Dell became a Lib Dem.

Birkenhead was part of the Liverpool branch of Dafydd’s empire (see post ‘These Sharks Are Crap As Well’). The lefties of Liverpool were fully complicit with Dafydd’s crimes, but then so were Dr Death and his Top Doctor mates. Dr Death’s former colleagues at St Thomas’s were mates of Dafydd’s, they weren’t simply keeping quiet because it was politically expedient to do so like Eric Heffer and co.

Edmund Dell was born in London and served in the Royal Artillary in WWII. He was educated at Dame Alice Owen’s School and Queen’s College, Oxford, where he was a member of the Communist Party, as his future ministerial colleague Denis Healey had been before the war.

Dell began work for ICI in Manchester as an overseas sales manager, specialising in Latin American trade and eventually rose to Vice President of the Plastics Division. In 1953 he was elected to Manchester City Council and served for seven years. Dafydd’s mate Professor Kenneth Rawnsley and his network dominated the psychiatric services in Manchester in the late 1950s/first half of the 60s, before Rawnsley relocated to Cardiff and continued to collude with the wrongdoing of the north Wales gang from there (see post ‘The Discovery Of A Whole New Galaxy’).

Dell stood unsuccessfully for Parliament in 1955. He was dissuaded from standing for Parliament in 1959 by ICI on the grounds that it would make promotion to the highest ranks of the company difficult. However, he eventually gave in to the temptation of Parliament and was elected for Birkenhead in 1964. He served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Jack Diamond, then Parliamentary Secretary for Technology under Tony Benn in 1966 and as a junior Minister under Peter Shore in 1967.

Tony Benn knew about the Westminster Paedophile Ring and the role that Dafydd et al in north Wales were playing in it. I wrote to Tony Benn some years before he died about the abuse of mental health patients in north Wales and he simply wrote back saying ‘sorry mental health is not my areas’. I wrote to him because I had been told that he was interested in disability issues. Tony Benn was rather more interested in Top Doctors. He had very good links with St Thomas’s Hospital and both he and his wife were treated there.

‘Please don’t kill me Top Docs, just take revenge on the service users. I’m useful to you! I can campaign to prevent your failing dangerous units being closed down, I can vote for you to have an even bigger salary and never face charges of corporate manslaughter, you know us in Parliament, we’re so craven that we just do exactly as you order us to…’

I really am mystified as to how politicians on the left such as Tony Benn get away with their deep and meaningful friendships with them all at Tommy’s. Tommy’s has a well-established reputation as being the most elite of the London hospitals, it’s the place where one finds medical students who are actually titled members of the aristocracy but who just fancy dabbling in medicine for a bit. Furthermore it tends to be the Tommy’s consultants who are raking it in at Harley Street.

Peter Shore was someone else who knew about Dafydd et al. Shore was an East End Labour MP and children from his constituency were being packed off to children’s homes in north Wales. They then returned to Shore’s area as teenaged sex workers who were infected with HIV. There were so many of them dying that in the late 1980s, that Shore helped convert the old Mildmay Mission Hospital into a specialist unit for terminally ill AIDS patients (see post ‘Apocalypse Now’).

In 1968 Edmund Dell was promoted to Minister of State for Trade and then moved to Employment. When Harold Wilson returned to No 10 in 1974, Dell became Paymaster General and then Secretary of State for Trade and President of the Board of Trade, 1976-78 under Callaghan.

So Dell would have been a colleague of George Thomas the child molester and Leo Abse, Thomas’s mate who constantly got Thomas out of trouble, often breaking the law to do so (see post ‘It Wasn’t On Our Radar’). Abse himself was investigated for historical child sex offences. Dell would also have known Greville Janner, Jeremy Thorpe, Cyril Smith and the rest of them…

Dell served as a trustee of both the SDP and the Lib Dems and served as one of the SDP’s three representatives during emergency negotiations with the Liberals in Jan 1988 when it appeared the two parties’ merger might fall through after the failed launch by David Steel and Bob Maclennan of the joint manifesto, ‘Voices and Choices’. So Dell was obviously a trusted pair of safe hands.

After Parliament, Dell had a career in business as Chairman of Guinness Peat, founding Chairman of Channel 4 and as a Director of Shell Trading. In 1991-2 he was President of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Channel 4 was packed with paedophiles’ friends pretending to be daring, but none of whom dared whisper anything about organised abuse, yet alone by politicians (see post ‘What’s Left? The Politics Of Social Justice’).

The Chair of the PRT who succeeded Edmund Dell was broadcaster and journalist Jon Snow. Douglas Hurd succeeded Jon Snow as PRT’s fourth Chair in Nov 1997. So Douglas of the corrupt Home Office and Douglas of the Kincora Boys’ Home cover-up when Douglas was N Ireland Secretary was installed as Chair of the PRT just as Ronnie Waterhouse finished taking evidence from the victims of Dafydd and the gang, who were told by Waterhouse and most of the world’s media that they were criminals who could not be believed. Of course they were criminals, the first thing that Dafydd and the gang did in response to any complaints about them was to fit the complainant up for a criminal offence and then tell everyone that they couldn’t be believed because they were criminals. Thank goodness Douglas was in post at the PRT to keep an eye on things.

Douglas was succeeded as Chair in Sept 2001 by Lord Robert Fellowes. Fellowes went to Eton as all the best penal reformers do and then worked as a banker for many years. In 1977 Fellowes was recruited to join the Royal Household as Assistant Private Secretary. He spent the next 20 years in the Lilibet’s Private Secretary’s Office, becoming Deputy Private Secretary to Lilibet in 1986 and Private Secretary in 1990, where he remained until 1999. Robert Fellowes would have been well-acquainted with Dame Mary Morrison, Lady Susan Hussey and Carlo then. As well as Backstairs Billy.

Robert Fellowes was the brother-in-law of Diana, Princess of Wales and is the first cousin of Ronald Ferguson, father of Sarah, Duchess of York. Major Ron entertained the nation when media reports appeared in 1988 featuring Major Ron’s visits to the Wigmore Club. The Wigmore Club was a health club and massage parlour in London staffed by girls who, dressed in starched white ‘medical’ gowns, allegedly offered à la carte sexual services to members.

Dafydd: Could you have got me a job there by any chance? That could have been a high risk strategy, unlike those whom you usually trafficked, I am someone who would have known who Major Ron was.

I heard something even better than that about Major Ron years after the Wigmore Club revelations. I used to work with someone who had spent their youth in the posh bits of London hanging out with posh people but not the sort of posh people who toadied to the Royal Family. This person used to watch the polo matches and was part of the crowd of young people who’s role it was to go onto the field and stamp the turf back down half-way through the match. I was told that Major Ron’s predilection for underaged girls was so well-known that my friend and her mates all sported home made badges saying ‘Major Ron’s Kiddie Sex Club’ to one of the polo matches just to see if anyone challenged them. Not one person dared mention it. Major Ron’s first wife Susan died in a car crash in Argentina in Sept 1998. After the horrific details of the lives of the kids in care in north Wales had been heard at the Waterhouse Inquiry, but before Ronnie published his Report reassuring the world that a paedophile ring had existed in north Wales, but it only involved a few Welsh sheep-shaggers who at most worked as teachers or social workers.

Major Ron was polo manager, initially to Phil the Greek and later, for many years, to Carlo. Major Ron had to resign as Carlo’s polo manager, as well as from his position with the Guards Polo Club after the business at the Wigmore Club. Which seems ridiculous considering that Peter Morrison’s associates were killing witnesses in north Wales.

In 1999 Robert Fellowes left his job at Sodom and Gomorrah in The Mall, bagged a peerage and returned to banking. He became Vice-Chairman, and then Chairman, of Barclays Private Banking. Fellowes is also a Company Director and a Trustee of the Rhodes Trust, the Mandela Rhodes Foundation and the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Commonwealth Institute. Fellowes was Chairman of The Voices Foundation, 2004-12.

Who better to Chair the Prison Reform Trust? Here’s the great radical himself:

Lord-Robert-Fellowes2.jpg

Robert Fellowes is a distant relation of Julian Fellowes, but I don’t expect Robert Fellowes admits that to anyone, although Julian Fellowes will tell as many people as possible.

The inquest on Diana Princess of Wales and Dodi was carried out by Thomas Scott Baker. Thomas Scott Baker was a curious choice of coroner because Diana and Dodi’s inquests were the first that he’d ever performed. In 1995, Thomas Scott Baker was the judge who jailed Susan Brooke, a woman from north Wales, for abducting a baby from Ysbyty Glan Clwyd after receiving an ‘assessment’ on her from Dafydd et al after she’d been detained in Bryn Golau Ward in the North Wales Hospital Denbigh. There are so many features of Susan Brooke’s case that are so worrying that I have previously blogged quite extensively about it, ‘So Who’s Path Had Susan Brooke Crossed?’, ‘More On The Susan Brooke Case’ and ‘Update On Cases Of Susan Brooke and Sara Thornton’.

A mate of Dafydd’s with no previous experience performing inquests on Royals who’ve died amidst allegations of foul play might be all in a day’s work for Lord Fellowes, but I find it rather worrying.

The Prison Reform Trust’s nemesis, the Howard League for Penal Reform, was founded 1886 and focuses on penal reform in England and Wales. It receives funding from the Legal Services Commission and holds Legal Aid contracts in order to represent and assist young people in custody. There does not seem to be quite so many flaky people involved with the Howard League for Penal Reform as there are with the PRT, but there are a few who are worth a mention.

The Chief Executive is Frances Crook, who joined as Director in 1986. Frances Crook graduated in history from Liverpool University, subsequently qualified as a teacher and worked in secondary schools in Liverpool and London until 1980. She won’t have been able to avoid knowing about some kids being neglected or abused then.

Crook was the campaigns co-coordinator at the British Section of Amnesty International, 1980-85, and served as a Labour Councillor for East Finchley in the London Borough of Barnet, 1982-90.

Crook has been a school governor and Chaired various local community organisations. She was a Governor of the University of Greenwich for 6 years and Chaired the Staff and General Committee, retiring in 2002. Crook served on the Board of the School Food Trust, 2005-08, the non-departmental public body charged with overseeing the implementation of national standards for school food to every school in England and Wales.

In 2009 Crook was appointed an NHS non-executive Director of Barnet Primary Care Trust and in 2010 she was appointed a Senior Visiting Fellow at the LSE.

Lord Alex Carlile QC, was appointed President of the Howard League for Penal Reform in 2006.

Alex Carlile is a barrister who grew up in Ruabon near Wrexham and in Lancashire. At one point he practised from Chambers in Chester when Chester was a hub of corruption among lawyers. Carlile was the Liberal MP who later held paedophiles’ friend Emlyn Hooson’s old seat, Montgomeryshire, 1983-97. Hooson was a big friend of Ronnie Waterhouse. In 1995 Alex Carlile was the last person to dare ask questions in Parliament regarding Mary Wynch’s case. Carlile was given a brief written answer informing him that Mary had been finally shafted by the Home Office the year previously, that no-one was admitting to anything and if Carlile knew what was good for him he’d say no more about it. He didn’t and he picked up his peerage in 1999 (see post ‘The Mary Wynch Case – Details’). Carlile’s domestic life hit the press in Jan 2007 after he left his wife and began a relationship with a much younger barrister, Alison Levitt, leaving his wife distraught. Alison Levitt is Head of Business Crime at the London law firm Mishcon de Reya. Perhaps Dafydd and Robert Bluglass will be seeking her services soon.

Carlile was Chair of the 2006 Inquiry into physical restraint, solitary confinement and forcible strip searching of children in prisons, secure training centres and local council secure children’s homes. On 11 May and 6 June 2011, Lord Carlile held a follow-on Public Inquiry in the House of Lords. He put together an expert panel to advise and to give evidence to the Inquiry. This expert panel who gave both written and oral evidence consisted of Nick Hardwick (Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Prisons), Paul Cook (G4S children’s services), Eric Baskind (British Self Defence Governing Body, Liverpool John Moores University), Malcolm Stevens (JusticeCare Solutions), Laura Janes (Howard League for Penal Reform), John Drew (Youth Justice Board for England and Wales), Sue Berelowitz (Office of the Children’s Commissioner) and Carolyne Willow (CRAE).

With the experts that Alex drew together, is it surprising that nothing has changed?

Alex was highly effective at one thing however. He defended Paul Burrell, Diana’s butler, against charges that Burrell had nicked a load of Diana’s frocks, as well as a few other goodies. Things looked bad for Burrell, until someone somewhere found good cause to put Lilibet in the witness box if the trial went ahead, whereby Lilibet immediately realised that she had forgotten that Burrell had been given all the goodies, no question about it. If only Alex could have got such a result for Mary Wynch!

The legal firm whom Diana used to represent her in her divorce was Mishcon de Reya, who employ Alex’s wife Alison Levitt.

Alex was educated at Epsom College and King’s College London. He was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1970 and Alex is now a bencher at Gray’s Inn. Alex knew Sir William Mars-Jones, who concealed Dafydd’s crimes for years.

Now I’ve named more big wigs who oversee the activities of the paedophiles’ friends, I’ll finish off this post by identifying a few others who were witnesses to the wrongdoing themselves.

Firstly, Dr Vicky De Hoxa. I don’t know where Vicky is now, but until about 10 years ago she, her husband Robert and their friends ran a Christian healing centre at Bala. Vicky and her husband Robert were both Top Doctors, as was their business partner, I think he was called Peter. There was quite a demand for the services of Vicky and her colleagues, because a lot of people in Gwynedd simply could not get NHS treatment. Vicky heard some real horror stories and I gave her a blow by blow account of what was happening to me. Vicky did not accuse me of lying but she did become obviously very frightened by what she was hearing. She told me that after speaking to me and others, she could only conclude that there was ‘something evil’ at the Hergest Unit. There was, it was the staff. Vicky told me frankly that there were mental health units which were as dangerous as the Hergest Unit and the Gov’t would not close them down because under the provisions of the Mental Health Act, there has to be ‘hospital places’ for sectioned patients. Vicky also admitted that when units become as troubled as the Hergest Unit, good doctors simply won’t work there. Vicky and Robert’s own daughter was a Top Doctor in Leicester.

Vicky and her friends suddenly left north Wales some years ago, not long after they arrived. They didn’t give anyone much warning and a lot of patients were quite bereft. Vicky and her colleagues had invested much money into the Centre and it doubled up as a hotel. They had moved to Bala with the intention of beginning a long term project. There was a rumour going around that Vicky et al had sold the building because the business partners had fallen out with each other. I’d be very surprised if that was true, I saw no signs of friction among them, they took their Christianity seriously and I think they had all known each other for years. I think it very much more likely that Vicky and her friends fled, because they found something evil. The remains of the Westminster Paedophile Ring. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if they had been threatened. There were witnesses talking to Vicky, including me.

Another person who knows a great deal about the abuse of patients and crime in Ysbyty Gwynedd is Romy Lawson, who used to work at Bangor University. I used to share an office with Romy and I knew that one of her closest friends was a nurse who worked in the A&E Dept at Ysbyty Gwynedd. Romy and her friend, Clare, knew what was happening to me and to other patients. Romy was always very careful what she said in front of me, but one day I was burrowing about in some cupboards and Romy and her friends did not realise that I was there. They were having an intense discussion about the neglect and abuse of mental health patients at the Hergest Unit and how Clare and the other staff in the A&E would call out the mental health staff when suicidal patients turned up in A&E, only to be told by the Hergest staff that they would not treat them. Romy was also discussing how the police were begging the Top Docs to treat suicidal patients, but Top Docs were snapping ‘we will not treat them’. The discussion moved on to how many Hergest patients were killing themselves after being refused treatment. I felt uncomfortable eavesdropping, so I showed myself and said yes, that is what is happening, they are unlawfully refusing to treat anyone who has complained. The room went silent and the conversation was changed to another subject.

I know why. It was because people were dying and Clare and her colleagues were implicated because no-one would blow the whistle. Romy doesn’t work at Bangor any longer. When Brown and me began publishing with regard to what was happening in the mental health services Romy emigrated. Just before Operation Pallial re-opened the investigation into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal. Romy is now Professor Romy Lawson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia.

If anyone visits Perth and bumps into Romy, how about asking her and her old pal Clare to make a statement about those patients whom they knew were being left to die? Romy might know a lot more as well. For years she worked as a warden in the halls of residence and told me how often she’d had to look after suicidal students because there was no functioning mental health service in Bangor. Romy commented that all she could do was ‘mop up the blood’ while she waited for the student’s parents to come and take them home.

Just one more thought re Romy. She wasn’t Welsh, she was from Manchester. She had grown up with a famous next door neighbour – the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester, the notorious James Anderton (see post ‘Rab Butler, High Table and The Founding Fathers’). Anderton was infamous for having an obsession with gays and prostitutes while his police force had been taken over by serious organised crime. Before Anderton retired, worrying stories appeared about him in the media suggesting that he was, er, mad. Anderton’s supporters robustly denied them, maintaining that these were smears from Anderton’s foes. So I asked Romy what he was like, as she had lived next door to him for years. She rolled around laughing and said ‘he was completely mad’. I asked if she meant that he was extreme in his anti-gay views. She replied that no, he’s mad, everyone knew it, we all kept away from him and he had his whole garden rigged out with special lights to catch evil spirits.

I could understand why Romy as a teenager was so entertained by her mad neighbour who was the highest ranking police officer in Greater Manchester. However, as competent adults in her 30s, she and her friend should not have been colluding with a bunch of maniacs at the Hergest Unit who were known to be leaving seriously ill people to die if they had made a complaint against the hospital.

Another rather more unlikely witness. Someone who works at Pentraeth Automotive near Menai Bridge who was a friend of Tony Francis. I don’t know his name, but he is either the owner of the garage or the senior manager. There were complaints about his behaviour towards women and it was Tony Francis who was reassuring everyone that he knew this man – he certainly did, Tony and his wife Sadie always had top of the range cars purchased from Pentraeth Automotive – and that it was the women who were the problem not the man at the garage. Which is what Francis said about me when I complained about Gwynne the lobotomist and Dafydd.

I heard another interesting account of the business practices of Pentraeth Automotive, this time involving ‘the boss’, a man called Ken. When I was working in a truly appalling care home on Anglesey in 2000, I witnessed a care assistant slap an elderly lady, catch the elderly lady’s skin with her fingernails and draw blood. I reported the assault to the care home owners and I was given a written warning for ‘breaching confidentiality’ when I admitted that I’d told another care assistant what happened. I walked out a couple of weeks later when I witnessed yet more abuse of patients. (I have blogged about all of this in a previous post.) Before I witnessed the care assistant assault the old lady, the care assistant told me that she and her husband purchased a car from Ken at Pentraeth Automotive on an HP agreement and within weeks couldn’t afford to pay for it. Ken announced that he would repossess the car. I thought oh well, fair enough, if you haven’t got the dosh. Not so. The slapping care assistant and her husband had an enormous row with Ken, let him know that they had the details of his many illegal practices and thus Ken let them keep the car without paying for it.

Why did the slapping care assistant not have the money for the car? Because her husband was keen on hard core porn which he was having imported at great cost. The slapping care assistant and her porn addicted husband had a teenaged son who was a student on a catering course at Coleg Menai. Because the family’s income was all going on porn, the Coleg Menai student applied for a hardship grant. He bloody well got it as well, I didn’t know any others who did. The slapping care assistant told me that she knew that her son had his head screwed on right because when the hardship grant arrived, he used it to buy some ‘good name trackie bottoms’.

I thought that the whole saga involving this family was hilarious – except for the slapping of a bedridden old lady – and I gave a full account to Brown. Brown told me that he agreed with the slapping care assistant, her son knew what he was doing. We didn’t have good name trackie bottoms, we didn’t have a hardship grant yet we weren’t importing hard core porn from Europe either. Neither did we have a car that we weren’t paying for. We haven’t scarpered to Australia and been given jobs as Deputy VCs either.

After making a merciful escape from the dreadful care home, Bryn Ceirios at Pentraeth, imagine my surprise when some months later I saw a feature in the local paper, placed by Coleg Menai, about their ‘star adult learner’. It was the slapping care assistant, the mum of the young man with good name trackie bottoms and the inhabitant of the house full of grumble vids fresh from Europe. Well Dorothy Griffiths, my real problem with you is that you violently assaulted an elderly lady and then did a deal with two negligent home owners to ensure that you remained in your job while I was the one who received a warning. However, the events involving Ken at Pentraeth Automotive, the European porn, the hardship grant and the good name trackie bottoms were certainly interesting, but what is most interesting of all is how with a track record like that, you managed to persuade Coleg Menai to award you their star learner gong and feature you in the local paper. Oooh let me guess – you had a load of shit on them???

The Top Doctors continue to make regular media appearances, firmly in denial regarding their own contribution to the parlous state of the NHS. BBC News Wales has featured Dr Mark Taubert, dispensing his wisdom about the difficulties of predicting how long terminally ill patients have to live. Dr Taubert is a palliative care specialist treating cancer patients, so I can understand that he can’t be precise when patients ask him how long they’ve got left, but it was a real laugh at the Hergest Unit to witness the Top Docs refuse to waste their time treating severely depressed people because they’re only going to kill themselves anyway. Do you know, the Top Docs were right, loads of those patients killed themselves. Years ago I asked Dafydd why there was such a high suicide rate among his patients. He put on a grave voice and told me that four out of ten severely mentally ill people end up killing themselves. Not only did Dafydd get the stats wrong, but he failed to address my point – why were there just so many people killing themselves in north Wales? Not that anyone gave a stuff, because ‘they all kill themselves anyway’.

Dr Mark Taubert isn’t Dafydd, Dr Taubert is a senior lecturer and Clinical Director at Velindre Hospital, which treats cancer patients in Cardiff. Welsh politicians love Velindre, they do like to pop down for a photo opportunity. Rhodri Morgan always managed to make it over to Velindre, as he refused to address the genocide in north Wales.

I found some interesting media coverage regarding Dr Taubert. Dr Taubert knows how to drum up a bit of good publicity for himself. In 2016 Dr Taubert achieved headlines after he wrote to David Bowie, thanking him for being an inspiration (what else??). What had Bowie done that was so inspirational? He’d died. Dr Taubert didn’t write to Bowie before his death, because David Bowie wanted a bit of privacy and no-one knew that he was dying. So Dr Taubert got in on the act and wrote to Bowie after his death. Not that he sent the letter to David Bowie – Dr Taubert uploaded his letter to David Bowie on the BMJ blog, so the world could read what he’d written to Bowie! No-one wrote back to Taubert and said why are you writing letters to dead people on the BMJ blog you publicity seeking tosser, but Duncan Jones – Bowie’s son – and Benedict Cumberbatch did write back to Dr Taubert thanking him on behalf of the dead rock star. This guaranteed full media coverage.

Dr Taubert’s letter to David Bowie observes that Bowie ‘chose’ to die at home and Taubert ponders on his own patients making such choices. Not only has Taubert wisely kept schtum about the multi millionaire Bowie choosing to live in Switzerland and not risk his neck with NHS Wales – Bowie probably heard about the circumstances in which Anne Clwyd’s husband died at the University Hospital in Cardiff – but Taubert fails to mention that most terminally ill patients do not have the choice of dying at home. There is huge pressure on people to die in hospital, where one’s final hours can consist of being dumped naked on a bed with one’s glass of water out of reach. Even if things are not as grim as that, the real biggie for cancer patients is that they can’t get the pain relief that they need if they stay at home and there’s bugger all home support available to nurse the dying. So unlike millionaires in Switzerland, they don’t have ‘choices’.

Mark’s letter to David Bowie waxed lyrical about Bowie’s music and stage personas. It didn’t mention the years that Bowie spent with a serious drug problem, which would have caused him to be refused treatment if he were an NHS patient in Gwynedd. It didn’t mention the bisexual swinging with the sort of young people whom Dafydd and the gang trafficked to London and Brighton and it didn’t mention the incredibly acrimonious divorce between Bowie and his wife Angie, which resulted in Angie threatening to go public about a great many things but being gagged by David and his expensive lawyers.

David Bowie was one of those who played at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert on 20 April 1992, following Mercury’s death from AIDS. Like Bowie, Mercury kept his condition very quiet, although there are indications that he had known that he was HIV positive for a long time before he told even close friends.

The proceeds of the Tribute Concert were donated to AIDS research. My post ‘Apocalypse Now’ details the establishment of the first specialist AIDS hospice in the UK, the former Mildmay Mission Hospital in the East End. Most of the young men who died there were rent boys, many who had been trafficked from children’s homes in north Wales. The Top Docs and AIDS researchers knew that. These witnesses to serious crime died surrounded by staff who ensured that no-one ever found out how they had become infected. The Mildmay did have some celebrity patients and I wondered if one of them had been Freddie Mercury, judging from the account that I read.

The dying rent boys at the flagship AIDS ward at UCH/Middlesex Hospital were filmed shaking hands with Diana, with the viewers being told that they had no-one in the world because their families had rejected them for being gay. No, they had been taken away from their families and sent to Dafydd and the paedophiles. Those who did have families who rejected them were rejected because they were sex workers rather than because they were gay. The celebs were not filmed shaking hands with Di. People worked very hard to give them complete privacy.

Most of the stars who played at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert knew that many of those with whom they had often had sex were kids in care. They might not have realised the brutality that had been involved in coercing the kids into prostitution, but they did know that they were underage and they did know that they weren’t living at home with families. No-one bothered to enquire further.

Lastly, I think it is time that I exposed someone upon whom many patients and relatives in north Wales pinned a lot of hopes but who has let them down very badly. Donna Ockenden. Donna Ockenden conducted the ‘independent investigation’ into the Tawel Fan Scandal at the Betsi. Donna wrote an interim report about Tawel Fan which was hard hitting (see post ‘The Tawel Fan Scandal’) and she then conducted a second investigation, promising to leave no stone unturned and expose just how bad the situation was, if necessary. We all waited with baited breath. Donna produced her final report a few weeks ago. It was damning, but like every other report into care scandals in north Wales, it did not admit just how bad things are in mental health in north Wales. Patients and relatives accused Donna of a luke-warm response or even a cover-up. I presumed that Donna was going to return to do a bit more work in north Wales. No. Donna has gone. So I’ll brief readers as to the evidence that Donna ignored.

After Donna wrote her first report she stated that she wanted to hear from any mental health patients in north Wales who were not happy with the ‘services’. I was one who contacted Donna. I spoke to her on the phone and she reassured me that she had serious concerns about the Betsi and was determined to expose any rot that there was. I e mailed Donna masses of evidence – witness statements, e mail correspondence, insulting letters to me from NHS personnel refusing to investigate the most serious of complaints. I also forwarded evidence relating to another patient in north Wales, with their permission, who had become too ill to do this themselves. They had been imprisoned on the basis of the perjury of Hergest staff and then refused all NHS treatment.

Donna was given documentary evidence of perjury, perverting the course of justice, conspiracy, assault on patients, unlawful imprisonment, destruction of evidence by NHS senior managers and unlawful denial of NHS care. Donna asked me if I would meet her and a surgeon from England who was assisting with the investigation in an hotel in north Wales to discuss what had happened to me and others. Some days later, after I sent yet further evidence of serious crime on the part of the NHS and social services in north Wales, Donna e mailed me and asked if we could postpone the meeting until she’d had a chance to meet with other patients and relatives. I never heard from her again. I subsequently had to leave Wales for my own safety, but Donna had my e mail address. Neither did she or her surgeon colleague contact me again regarding the evidence pertaining to the other patient that I sent her. He ended up going abroad for life-saving treatment because the NHS flatly unlawfully refused to treat him.

So Donna has written her report and she’s gone. She was given documentary evidence of serious organised crime. Donna, you should not have fled, you should have taken it to the police. We tried the police ourselves again and again, but we were just threatened when we did so. You and the surgeon have just buggered off and left patients in north Wales to die.

Donna’s background is in midwifery and senior NHS management. She has also worked in the United Arab Emirates. I recommend that readers visit her website and note her numerous senior and advisory positions. Donna is described as a ‘catalyst for change’. She hasn’t been in north Wales, she got the hell out of there and abandoned the patients to a bunch of gangsters.

There’s something nasty in the woodshed in north Wales. It’s so nasty that no-one will go near it.
