My post ‘The Battle For The Labour Party’s Soul’ discussed the shenanigans in the Bermondsey Labour Party in the 1980s and the homophobic hate campaign against Peter Tatchell, which was orchestrated by a group of people who were not gay rights activists like Tatchell, but who were instead sending numerous children in the care of Southwark Borough Council – Southwark Borough Council covered Bermondsey as well as Peckham and Dulwich – into the embrace of Dafydd’s trafficking gang in north Wales and who continued to do this even in the wake of the most serious complaints about the abuse of Southwark children while they were in children’s homes in north Wales.
A trafficking racket was not the only criminal activity facilitated. Bob Mellish, the Labour MP for Bermondsey, 1946-82, was also involved in large scale civic corruption and was a business associate of the notoriously crooked former Leader of Newcastle-upon-Tyne City Council, 1960-65, T. Dan Smith, who’s empire was originally in the North East of England but who caused havoc across much of the UK during the 1960s and 70s as his empire expanded (see previous posts). T. Dan Smith specialised in corruption with regard to planning and building in local authorities and ended up going to prison. Bob Mellish’s Ministerial responsibilities brought him into contact with the Civil Service mandarin Dame Evelyn Sharp who oiled the wheels of such corruption in the fields of planning and construction, as well as a number of Ministers and Secretaries of State who concealed the organised abuse and associated crime of Dafydd and linked gangs. Mellish was networked with other MPs, some of whom such as Simon Hughes were not in the Labour Party themselves but who joined in the bashing of Tatchell for their own benefit and who also kept quiet about the organised abuse and local authority corruption.
I also explained in ‘The Battle For The Labour Party’s Soul’ how Mellish, who was styled as the Authentic Voice Of The Working Class Cockney, did Thatcher’s Gov’t a massive favour by accepting Michael Heseltine’s offer of an appointment as the Vice-Chairman of the LDDC (London Docklands Development Corporation) in 1981. The Labour Party was opposed to the LDDC but Friend Of The Common People Mellish was happy to help Thatch out nonetheless. The LDDC decimated the lives and opportunities of the disadvantaged citizens of Mellish’s constituency and the surrounding area.
My post ‘The Bodies Beneath Canary Wharf’ described the role of local politicians in Tower Hamlets such as Sir Robin Wales in the development of Docklands, again resulting in very little benefit to the local people. Dafydd’s gang operated in Tower Hamlets as well as Shoreditch (see posts eg. ‘Tower Hamlets, Paul Boateng and Tessa Jowell’ and ‘Apocalypse Now’) and a number of Top Doctors/NHS personnel ensured that they picked up more than a few crumbs from the table as Thatcher’s Gov’t bought off everyone who knew about the trade in disadvantaged children and young people between London and north Wales. One person who did very nicely out of it all was Sir Sam Everington, who as a young Top Doctor in the 1980s – Everington is a barrister as well – gained himself a reputation as the BMA’s in-house radical, raising concerns about the hours and working conditions of junior Top Doctors and racism in medicine. Sam was a leading light in the BMA when the BMA was providing Dr Tony Francis and Dafydd et al in north Wales with advice and support with regard to having me framed for serious crimes and transferred to a high security psychiatric hospital. Not only did Sam not mention a word about this or the abuse of vulnerable people which was being facilitated by those we know and love, but Sam evolved into exactly the sort of complacent, privileged old BMA fart whom he once pretended that he wanted to cleanse medicine of.
Then – A Nice Young Doctor:
Now – Sir Sam Everington of The King’s Fund and a Great Deal Else:
The Chairman of the LDDC was Sir Nigel Broackes, the founder of Trafalgar House, one of the UK’s largest contracting businesses. Broackes was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire – Jimmy Savile country – and was educated at Brambletye School, Sussex and Stowe School. Broakes joined Stewart & Hughman, a firm of Lloyd’s underwriters, upon leaving school. He then did his national service and was commissioned into the Royal Armoured Corps in 1953.
After completing his national service, with the support of Eastern International, a small finance house, Broackes started buying up bomb sites in London. Eastern International became Trafalgar House and Broackes took a 21% stake in the business when it was first listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1963. In 1964 the company took a 49% stake in Bridge Walker, a construction company owned by Victor Matthews. Broackes and Matthews subsequently worked together to build Trafalgar House into a huge business. Trafalgar House owned the Cunard Line, 1971-98, although Broackes resigned in 1992 following heavy losses associated with a diversification into offshore activities.
Broackes was appointed Chairman of the LDDC in 1979. He resigned from that post in 1984 and in the same year was knighted for his role at the LDDC.
1984 was the year that the threats from the Top Doctors began to reign down upon Brown and I. Mary Wynch was on her way to the Master of the Rolls by then and Dafydd and the paedophiles had sent up distress flares, resulting in the arrival of reinforcements both in UCNW (Bangor University) and the local NHS, in the form of people such as Professor Eric Sunderland, Tony and Sadie Francis and Dr Lyndon Miles (see previous posts). In 1984 Alison Taylor had begun to blow the whistle on the abuse of children in care in north Wales and had been called to a disciplinary hearing by Gwynedd County Council. In Oct 1984, Alison’s concerns about the welfare of children in care in north Wales were denounced as ‘unjustified’ by Detective Inspector Gregson.
The security services had Brown and I under surveillance by 1984 (see previous posts), but nobody thought to tell us the level of concern that there was regarding the activities of the health and social care sectors in north Wales. Instead, MI5 watched Gwynne the lobotomist and Dr D.G.E. Wood forge medical records and lie about us to third parties. They watched those we know and love do that to other witnesses as well. We are now being told by Gov’t and the police that it was difficult bringing that gang to justice because ‘the witnesses were not considered credible’. Of course we weren’t, MI5 watched in silence as we were smeared and fitted up for crimes to ensure that we could be denounced as, er, not credible.
There was a piece on The Guardian Online yesterday about an activist group called ‘Sisters Uncut’ who are going apeshit about witnesses/victims of sex offenders being forced to hand over personal information such as counselling and medical records to the police in the event of their (alleged) assailants being prosecuted. The info is made available to the defence and to their alleged assailants and is used to discredit the complainants. This has been standard practice for years. It is why so many ludicrous things were written about me on my medical records, without my knowledge and it is why it took me more than 20 years and a High Court case to obtain copies of my own records. Which of course contained evidence of serious wrongdoing on the part of everyone who had fitted me up.
Sisters Uncut: I do believe that people accused should have fair trials. The answer, in terms of defending yourselves if you are the complainant, is to not go near a counsellor or a Top Doctor. They are not there to help you. They are corrupt to the core and they are there to assist a corrupt state apparatus which has abused thousands of vulnerable citizens. Please, no matter how bad you feel, keep away from them until those professions have been completely cleaned up (which is going to take a very long time). The biggest mistake that I ever made was to have anything to do with the vile perjuring bastards. Dafydd and Gwynne the lobotomist were recorded undercover trying to get their legs over me and others and they then received 100% protection and support from the state and their proud ‘profession’ when we complained. By the way, Dafydd et al also used their positions to extract information from patients about people who were a risk to those patients and Dafydd et al then contacted those people and did deals with them; they are 100% toxic.
Rebel police people who are banging on at me to name more Somerset folk from years ago whom you claim gave info to Dafydd et al in order to smear me: No. You knew what they were doing at the time – it is how you are able to give me details now all these years later – everyone was under surveillance but the info was used to attack Brown and me and our supporters. You chose to do that, you didn’t want us, you wanted a gang of criminals. That’s what you have got. If you want to mount prosecutions against them, then tell the security services to release the undercover recordings. I’m not interested in constantly arguing the toss and defending myself against ludicrous allegations which everyone knew were untrue at the time. I’ll make the same comment to you as I always did to that silly old twat Dafydd and his minions when they demanded that I give them ‘my side of the story’ after they had made things up about me and written it down as fact: No, piss off. You’ve know what lies you have told and I am not interested in the insanities of Top Docs or Top Cops who’ve now got egg on their faces. A lot of people told the most disgusting lies about Brown and me to protect a gang of paedophiles and you went along with them. Live with it.
Nigel Broackes married Joyce Horne and they had two children. Whether Joyce Horne is any relation to Bangor University’s Professor Pauline Horne, the long-standing mistress of Prof Fergus Lowe and someone who knew all about Dafydd and the gang (see post ‘Feet In Chains’) I do not know. Broackes died in Chelsea, in Sept 1999, five months before the publication of the Waterhouse Report.
So Dafydd and the gang had Mr Big of the LDDC and Trafalgar House to help cover their arses throughout the many cover-ups. Although Mr Big was yet another person who could have named names who pegged out just before Ronnie Waterhouse finished the job.
Ioan Bowen Rees, Chief Exec of Gwynedd County Council while the paedophile gang made merry in the Council’s children’s homes and who was County Secretary of Dyfed County Council when a gang linked to Dafydd’s gang operated in the Social Services in Dyfed, died in May 1999. Lord Max Beloff, Ioan’s friend, died in March 1999. Lord Max was one of the movers and shakers behind the private University of Buckingham, Thatch’s favourite University of which Thatch became Chancellor (see previous post). Lord Max was the dad of Michael Beloff QC, Cherie’s colleague and pal of both Cherie and Miranda. It was Michael Beloff QC who was the legal adviser to Municipal Mutual, the insurers of the North Wales Police and Clwyd County Council and who ensured that the Jillings Report of 1996 into the abuse of children in the care of Clwyd County Council since 1974, was not made available to anyone at all, not even to Clwyd’s Councillors (see post ‘It’s A Piece Of Cake…’).
Albert Joseph Ward, known as Reg Ward, was the first Chief Executive of the LDCC, 1981-88. Reg was the son of a miner and was born in the Forest of Dean. He went to the East Dean Grammar School, Cinderford, Gloucestershire. Reg joined the RAF and when working as a pilot, he was encouraged to apply for university. He subsequently went to Manchester University and after graduating joined the Inland Revenue as a Tax Inspector.
In his mid-30s Ward had a third change of career, leaving the Inland Revenue for a job as administrator of the architecture department at Lancashire County Council. Ioan Bowen Rees worked as a solicitor for Lancashire County Council for a period of time from the mid-late 1950s. So Reg’s time working for Lancashire CC will have overlapped with Ioan’s and they will have been of about the same seniority in the Council.
A series of local government appointments followed, culminating in Reg becoming Chief Executive of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham and later of Hereford and Worcester County Council.
The Borough of Hammersmith was responsible for the management of Stamford House Remand Home in Shepherd’s Bush, which during the 1960s and 70s was the focus of successive scandals regarding the sexual abuse of the young people housed there; at that time such complaints very rarely saw the light of day, so it is likely that, as the inmates of Stamford House alleged, the abuse was serious (see post ‘The Case Of The King’s Sperm’).
One of those working at Stamford House at the time of the complaints was Peter Clarke. Peter Clarke was appointed as the first Children’s Commissioner for Wales, 2001-08. Wales was the first nation to install a Children’s Commissioner and was particularly proud of leading the world in this. The Children’s Commissioner was appointed on the recommendation of Sir Ronnie Waterhouse to ensure That It Never Happened Again, although of course according to Ronnie, not very much did happen. Before becoming Children’s Commissioner, Peter Clarke dropped in to do a stint with many other favourite organisations of the paedophile gang, such as being a community care adviser with the Spastics Society (SCOPE) (abuse of clients in the care of SCOPE has been alleged) from 1985 – paedophiles’ friend and Blair’s former PPS David Hanson worked for SCOPE at the time and the Tory Tim Yeo, who ignored organised abuse in various Ministerial roles, was Chief Exec of SCOPE, 1980-83. Clarke was Director of the mental health charidee Rethink – who ignored a letter from me about the gang in north Wales – from 1991. Clarke followed that up with a post as Director of ChildLine Cymru from 1995, when there were allegations that ChildLine Cymru ignored calls from kids in care from north Wales reporting abuse. Before undertaking senior roles with charidees which colluded with Dafydd and the gang, Peter Clarke worked as a social worker in London and Brighton, which were the locations of the brothels owned by John Allen to which children were trafficked. Peter Clarke studied at the Universities of Sussex and Warwick (you’ve guessed it…) and he originally came from Llandudno, as did Gwynne the lobotomist and many other key facilitators of the north Wales gang. For more on Peter’s glittering career, see post ‘Yet Mote Inglorious Bastards’.
Of course Peter Clarke was going to be Wales’s first Children’s Commissioner, Ronnie probably tailored the job spec especially for him.
With regard to Hereford and Worcestershire County Council, it was David Tombs, who was once their Director of Social Services, who in 2014 made headlines when he told journos that in the 1990s he had acquired a list of VIP paedophiles, some of whom lived in Herefordshire and Worcestershire and was told by officials in the DoH that he’d never get anywhere if he tried to deal with this matter, because there are ‘too many of them over there’, allegedly a reference to Westminster crawling with child molesters. After I began writing this blog, I received an e mail from a retired Director of Social Services in England who told me that David Tombs had for years colluded with child abuse in high places and only went public recently when he feared that it was all going to unravel. The social work academic Peter Righton, who in his published work promoted sex between adults and children, lived in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Social Services area (see previous posts). When Ronnie Waterhouse retired, he bought a house in Herefordshire; he was living there by the time that the Waterhouse Inquiry began. Morris le Fleming, one of the panel members for the Waterhouse Inquiry, had previously worked for the Hereford and Worcestershire Local Authorities.
Reg Ward was a ‘surprise choice’ by Secretary of State for the Environment Michael Heseltine to lead the new Docklands body on its inception in 1980 and for nine months was the only member of staff during its “shadow period” of operation. However this period ‘gave Reg the opportunity to walk extensively through Docklands, drawing pictures of the old warehouses and imagining what possible redevelopments could take place’. A story told by ex LDDC staffers was that Reg’s first work for the organisation took place using a bucket for a seat and an old upturned tea chest as a desk.
Tea chests virtually died out many years ago, but I’ll tell you who had lots and lots of tea chests in his houses – Dafydd. I have no idea what was in them, but Dafydd had tea chests everywhere long after they had largely disappeared off the face of the earth.
It is alleged that there were no concrete ideas regarding how the Docklands should be developed when Ward was appointed. Ward’s wiki entry tells us that ‘Ward’s genius was to be open to new ideas, and to seize opportunities which came along, rather than to create reports and paperwork. Ward said if he had created some grand plan…”we would still be debating and nothing would have got built. Instead, we have gone for an organic, market-driven approach, responding pragmatically to each situation.”‘
Ward invited Michael von Clemm of Credit Suisse First Boston to Docklands to look for a site for a food factory. When von Clemm suggested that the Canary Wharf site might be suitable for offices to house bank trading floors, Ward ‘leapt upon the idea and helped sell it to Gov’t’.
At the LDDC, Reg Ward was responsible for progressing the ideas of Docklands Light Railway, London City Airport, Canary Wharf and he helped Iain Shearer on the ExCeL Exhibition Centre.
Ward’s ‘forthright style’ did not sit well with his colleagues in central Gov’t, in particular Nicholas Ridley, who replaced Heseltine as the Secretary of State for the Environment in 1986. Ward had a total disregard for Civil Service protocol and rules and Ward is said to have once avoided answering phone calls from the Secretary of State for several days because he knew that the call was to say that one of his road projects would be cancelled.
Ward was eased out of his job shortly after the deal on Canary Wharf was signed. However, he is now viewed as the main driver in Gov’t behind the development of London Docklands. Reg Ward went on to work in Barcelona and Sydney on major regeneration projects before being appointed to head the regeneration of St Kitts in the Caribbean. In his later years, Reg ran his own consultancy company and was a regular contributor to debates on urban regeneration and the future of the Thames Gateway.
Ward’s wife Betty pre-deceased him in early 2010. They had two children.
Ward’s Torygraph obituary in Jan 2011 stated that: ‘Ward put Docklands on the map with a cheeky advertising campaign…and a rumbustious approach to getting things done that brooked little role for Left-wing neighbouring boroughs, or indeed for Whitehall protocol. Within five years Ward and his equally ebullient chairman, Sir Nigel Broackes, had confounded LDDC’s critics by achieving a remarkable transformation of one of the most run-down areas in Britain, turning 8.5 square miles of dereliction into a place where people wanted to live and work. His admirers have even claimed that London would never have won the bid for the 2012 Olympic Games had not Ward battled vigorously for better transport links in the East End.
Tessa Jowell was famously given responsibility for the 2012 Olympics and it involved a serious cock-up with security. The bunch of shysters which are G4S were given the contract, having screwed up so many huge Gov’t contracts on previous occasions and true to form, G4S couldn’t fulfil the contract and therefore the British Army were brought in to do the job.
The 2012 Olympics were kicked off with that over-the-top display of All That Is Good About Britain which featured a tribute to the NHS, in which Peter Pan-themed Angels bounced up and down on giant beds with their young patients. I did notice that the bad news NHS stories which I knew were in the pipeline didn’t see the light of day until that hackneyed rubbish had passed. Who was behind that opening scene? Danny Boyle. Danny Boyle was at the time the most hyped graduate of UCNW (Bangor University) (see previous posts). Danny studied at UCNW in the mid-1970s, when UCNW was completely under the control of Dafydd’s gang, who at the time of the 2012 Olympics had unlawfully detained me – yet again – in Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
‘Ward’s greatest achievement was to persuade hard-nosed City and property investors that Docklands revival was going to work. By 1986, the LDDC had spent around £300m of public money, but had succeeded in attracting £1.4 billion in private investment.
His approach was to seize opportunities whenever and wherever they arose. When the American banker Michael von Clemm visited West India Docks looking for a factory site, he became interested instead in the idea of building offices. Ward jumped on this and the resulting scheme became the Canary Wharf development. After several hiccups a contract was eventually signed with Paul Reichman, of the Canadian property developers Olympia and York, in 1987. “You could say that Docklands is a ‘happening’, a happy coincidence of opportunity and accident,” Ward explained.“There have been no master plans or detailed development frameworks.”
But Ward’s style was controversial. The Greater London Council under Ken Livingstone refused to acknowledge the LDDC’s existence and the affected boroughs were furious at having an unelected body within their midst that had sole authority for planning approval. Within the Isle of Dogs Enterprise Zone the LDDC could do virtually whatever it wanted – including offering generous tax breaks to developers…’
Red Ken would have loved to have chucked a spanner in the works of the LDDC, but he couldn’t blow the whistle on Bob Mellish and his mates sending all those kids in care to a trafficking gang in north Wales, because Ken and his accomplices at the GLC were colluding with Dafydd’s gang as well (see previous posts).
‘Moreover, the LDDC faced growing criticism that local people had not benefited from the new development. Unemployment in the area remained above the national average, and beyond the shiny new office blocks, deprivation and grim housing continued to be the norm. Local residents led rallies in protest at the noise, pollution and lack of job opportunities.’
These were the Common People who’s interests Bob Mellish and his crew only ever had at heart.
‘Ward remained unrepentant, protesting that if there had been some grand plan, “we would still be debating and nothing would have got built. Instead, we have gone for an organic, market-driven approach, responding pragmatically to each situation.” A sense of local identity, he argued, could only emerge once the buildings were up.’
I am a little suspicious of the notion that the Docklands development was ‘organic’ and just sort of grew spontaneously as Reg jotted down a few ideas on the upturned tea chest. We are talking millions and millions of public money here and it is interesting to see what exactly sprung up at Docklands. It was a global centre for banking, which I suspect is rather what Thatcher wanted in London. Furthermore, it is now many years since the development of Docklands. I have heard of no sense of local identity existing down there, in fact doesn’t Docklands boast that it is highly cosmopolitan? One of the most cosmopolitan places in the world? You don’t see many Pearly Kings hanging around Canary Wharf. Or many Nans.
‘Ward stepped down from the job of chief executive in September 1987, shortly after signing the contract for the development of Canary Wharf. Though he was held in great regard by those who worked for him, one commentator observed, “the corns he has stepped on would fill more shoes than even Imelda Marcos possessed”….
While Michael Heseltine was a great admirer of his gung-ho approach (as, apparently, was the Duke of Edinburgh), Nicholas Ridley, who became Environment Secretary in 1986, was less enthusiastic….’
The Duke of Edinburgh is not someone known for his sense of local identity, in fact he is famous for managing to be mixed race, an immigrant and a racist old bastard all at once.
‘In 2004 Ward and his wife Betty celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a lunchtime party at their home in Stow-on-the-Wold attended by many of the LDDC’s original staff….’
I don’t know who went to the knees-up but it won’t have been the cleaners who scuttle around Docklands in the small hours in return for a pittance. Stow-on-the-Wold is a Pretty Place In The Cotswolds. At one time the Cotswolds contained a lot of poor people who worked on farms.
Although Brown always hated Laurie Lee, the Cotswolds now contains far more offensive people:
The above resident of the Cotswolds grew up in Cheshire while Dafydd’s gang, including Sir Peter Morrison, were busy there. The President of Morrisons Constituency Conservative Party, the Duke of Westminster – a close friend of Carlo – lived on his estate just down the road. This Cotswolds resident later married an actor who starred in East Enders. Some of the East Enders cast support the work of the Mildmay, the HIV/AIDS centre which sprang up in Shoreditch in the mid 1980s. The Mildmay was founded by NHS staff and politicians who were concealing the activities of Dafydd’s gang and remained schtum when the Mildmay functioned as a hospice for the rent boys controlled by Dafydd’s gang when they began dying of AIDS. See post ‘Apocalypse Now’.
Here’s her boss on his wedding day:
This bridegroom struck a deal with Thatch: if she wrote the legislation to break the unions, he’d pioneer the strategy and in return his newspapers would give their complete support to Thatch’s Gov’t. That is one reason why never a word about Dafydd and the gang has been published in the press. See previous posts.
Rebekah’s friend who lives near her in the Cotswolds famously resigned as PM hours after the nation had voted for Brexit because he didn’t want to do ‘all the hard shit’. He subsequently purchased a very expensive ‘shepherd’s hut’ for his back garden in the Cotswolds, in which he wrote a book which has not received much publicity if indeed it has been published yet. Cameron was so taken by his garden shed that he purchased another £25k ‘shepherd’s hut’ for the back garden of his second home in Cornwall.
This is where Cameron believes that shepherds live:
And Here Is Reg of En Masse Civic Corruption:
Here’s a bit more detail regarding the mind-blowing success which was Canary Wharf:
After Michael von Clemm came up with the idea to convert Canary Wharf into a back office, it was further discussions with G Ware Travelstead which led to proposals for a new business district and included the LDDC developing the Docklands Light Railway. The project was sold to the Canadian company Olympia & Yorke and construction began in 1988, master-planned by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill with Yorke Rosenberg Mardall as their UK advisers and subsequently by Koetter Kim. The first buildings were completed in 1991, including 1 Canada Square, which became the UK’s tallest building at the time and a symbol of the regeneration of Docklands.
By the time that 1 Canada Square had opened, the London commercial property market had collapsed and Olympia and York Canary Wharf Limited filed for bankruptcy in May 1992.
‘£300 million of public money’ was ‘invested’ in the LDDC…
Initially, the City of London saw Canary Wharf as an existential threat. It modified its planning laws to expand the provision of new offices in the City of London, for example, creating offices above railway stations (Blackfriars) and roads (Albans Gate). The resulting oversupply of office space contributed to the failure of the Canary Wharf project.
- In Oct 1995, an international consortium that included investors such as Alwaleed, bought control for $1.2 billion. Paul Reichmann was named Chairman and Canary Wharf went public in 1999. The new company was called Canary Wharf Limited and later became Canary Wharf Group.
In 1997, some residents living on the Isle of Dogs launched a lawsuit against Canary Wharf Ltd for private nuisance because the tower interfered with TV signals. The residents lost the case.
Recovery in the property market generally, coupled with continuing demand for large floorplate Grade A office space, slowly improved the level of interest. A critical event in the recovery was the much-delayed start of work on the Jubilee Line Extension, which Miranda’s Gov’t wanted ready for the Millennium Dome celebrations.
Readers may remember that there was chaos at the Millennium Celebrations, because of problems with the Jubilee Line Extension. It didn’t get people to the Dome and New Labour politicians and spin doctors were at each other’s throats. Lilibet really didn’t look as though she was enjoying herself when they all did the countdown to midnight either.
In March 2004, Canary Wharf Group plc was taken over by a consortium of investors, backed by its largest shareholder Glick Family Investments and led by Morgan Stanley using a vehicle named Songbird Estates plc.
This table lists completed buildings in Canary Wharf that are over 60 metres tall:
Canary Wharf contains around 16,000,000 square feet (1,500,000 m2) of office and retail space, of which around 7,900,000 square feet (730,000 m2) (about 49%) is owned by Canary Wharf Group. Around 105,000 people work in Canary Wharf – it provided jobs as promised !! – and it is home to the world or European headquarters of numerous major banks, professional services firms and media organisations, including EY, Fitch Ratings, KPMG, MetLife, RBC, S & P Global, State Street, Thomson Reuters and hosts the European Banking Authority.
I can imagine what Nan would say about that lot…
There were media reports yesterday stating that Cameron wants to make a political come-back, possibly as Foreign Secretary. ‘Private Eye’ had a great time with their ‘Lord Snooty and His Pals’ column when Cameron was PM. In 2009, when Cameron was Leader of the Opposition, the Torygraph published an article comparing him to Lord Snooty, a ‘toff’ befriending the poor. However, the Torygraph questioned whether Cameron was the original Lord Snooty, a pleasant boy wanting the best for his friends, or Lord Snooty the Third, a creation of ‘The Beano’ in 2008, a ‘repulsive’ boy who laughs at those less fortunate. Lord Snooty the Third was the grandson of Lord Snooty and had a butler called Parkinson.
I remember him well:
I think that it was Yvette Cooper who pertinently commented that Cameron has done quite enough damage already. Sadly Yvette, I suspect that Lord Snooty the Third’s arrival in the House some 17 years ago was a good deal more sinister than that of an entitled twat thinking that he had a right to be PM. When Lord Snooty the Third was beginning his upward climb, I think it was Conservative Central Office who were said to have received a phone call from Buck House telling them that they were about to meet a ‘most remarkable young man’. Then when Cameron became Tory leader, the Daddy of the LDDC, Heseltine, gave an interview to a broadsheet explaining that Call Me Dave would be gweat as PM and that the first time that Heseltine met Camewon, Camewon was unconscious on Heseltine’s floor, suffering from the after-effects of a party thrown by Heseltine’s nauseating daughter, Annabel, a pal of Dave’s.
Heseltine knew about the paedophile ring in north Wales/Cheshire, he knew what they were doing to my friends and I and he tried to gain as much political capital from it as possible (see previous posts eg. ‘Those Who Are Ready To Serve’ and ‘A Legend Lives’).
Heseltine was behind the multi-million pound fleecing of the taxpayer which was the LDDC, as well as the similar but smaller scale ‘regeneration’ scams eg. the development of Cardiff Bay (see post ‘Corruption Bay Special’). Heseltine personally appointed crooks like Bob Mellish and Reg Wade to the most senior roles on the LDDC. Would anyone, looking at what was going on in Southwark Borough Council, have put Bob Mellish in charge of anything???
Another consideration re Lord Snooty the Third’s rise to the very top of the Tory Party and the associated boosts from the Old Guard: Cameron’s dad Ian was Chairman of White’s Club.
When Ian Cameron was Chairman of White’s, Sir Peter Morrison was a member:
Morrison’s sister Dame Mary was, from 1960 onward, Woman-of-the-Bedchamber to HM Lilibet and Carlo was the Chancellor of UCNW throughout the many years that Dafydd’s gang ran that institution.
Being a courtier is a long-term commitment. Dame Mary was cluttering up Buck House for decades, throughout the many happy years when Morrison was molesting kids in care in north Wales, when Dafydd was illegally imprisoning victims of the paedophile gang in the Denbigh Dungeon and when other victims were found dead.
- Here’s Lord Snooty the Third, giving the man who was happy to have a member of a murdering paedophile gang as a member of his hang-out in St James’s a big kiss; Lord Snooty the Third’s pater was so particular regarding as to who was allowed into his club that all women were barred.
Carlo and Prince William are members of White’s.
Lord Snooty the Third was elected as the MP for Witney in June 2001. The year after the Waterhouse Report was published, the month after I qualified as a teacher and just as Dafydd’s gang began yet another all-out attack on me in their desperation to ensure that anything that I said would never be taken seriously. I have a lot more evidence that I haven’t yet put up on this blog Snooty III and some of it leads to you and your network.
Snooty III’s mother was a magistrate in Oxford. There was a long-standing abuse ring in Oxford and some of Dafydd’s associates – including Profs Mark Williams, from Bangor University and Tom Burns, from St George’s Hospital Medical School – rocked up with Chairs at Oxford in the wake of me adding to Alison Taylor’s whistleblowing. See previous posts for the names of the many people who colluded with Dafydd’s gang who ended up with jobs at Oxford.
Lord Snooty the Third became Tory Party Leader in Dec 2005. Just a few months after I’d been awarded my PhD and when all-out war was declared upon my PhD supervisor and the VC of Bangor University. Miranda was involved, as was Gordon Brown – and so was Snooty III.
It was Snooty III who on 4 Sept 2012 appointed David Jones MP as Secretary of State for Wales, just as the crucial decisions regarding the Macur Review of the Waterhouse Inquiry were being taken by Gov’t. David Jones is a solicitor from north Wales who spent years sharing a practice with the crooked solicitor Elwyn Jones, Elwyn Jones being responsible for wrecking the life of patient F, another victim of Dafydd’s gang who dared tell people that he knew that kids in care in north Wales were being abused (see eg. post ‘How Much Greater Is A Man Than A Sheep?’). Before that, David Jones shared a practice with Ieuan Wyn Jones, another bent solicitor from north Wales, who also shafted Dafydd’s victims, as did Ieuan’s wife, Eirian Llwyd and and even Ieuan’s father (see previous posts). David Jones is a big pal of Tory MP Antoinette Sandbach, who’s family are landowners from north Wales and concealed the wrongdoing of Dafydd and the gang (see previous posts). For the full sordid details of David Jones, see post ‘The Right Honourable David Jones MP’.

As for Snooty being a ‘most remarkable young man’ – Que?? Cameron was Norman Lamont’s adviser in the period leading up to Black Wednesday, 16 Sept 1992.
You big twat Snooty, you really should not have built your career on the back of concealing Dafydd’s gang. Just retreat into your shepherd’s hut and stay there, along with your dipstick of a wife, who is related to a few more who concealed the wrongdoing of Dafydd et al in previous generations (see previous posts).
It was Snooty who appointed Theresa as Home Secretary; Theresa who served as a Merton Borough Councillor, 1986-94, on the patch of the paedophile gang that was facilitated by St George’s Hospital Medical School/Springfield Hospital/Wandsworth Social Services. Theresa then appointed Lady Justice Julia Macur to conduct the Review of Waterhouse. Julia produced yet another heavily redacted cover-up of a Report.
I know someone from Bethesda who met Snooty III when he was still Leader of the Opposition. It was a teenager who used to live in the same village as me. She was the daughter of the first wife of patient F who had his life destroyed by Dafydd’s gang. Radio 1 held a phone-in competition and the prize was a trip to London to meet Lord Snooty the Third. The teenager won the competition and the BBC sent a posh car up to Bethesda to collect her. She hadn’t told her mum anything about any of it and cheerily got into the BBC car and went off to London where she was filmed talking to Lord Snooty the Third about climate change. Hilarious, WW III had broken out in Bethesda, because the BBC didn’t realise that the prize winner was under 16 and no-one even knew that she was in London meeting Snooty until everyone saw the media reports…
I thought that it was fantastic, but Brown said that he imagined that the BBC had kittens when they realised what they had done.
Perhaps the most important People’s Champ in sahf London with regard to Dafydd’s gang hitting the big time was John Vincent Tilley. Tilley was born and raised in Derby. There was a long-standing trafficking ring in Derby with links to Dafydd’s gang. Staff were exchanged between the two gangs and I suspect that the reason why the Top Doctors refused to provide treatment for the alcoholism of Kevin Lloyd – the actor from ‘the Bill’ – which resulted in his death, was because of his knowledge of organised abuse in Derbyshire, as well as that of linked gangs. Kevin’s brother Terry was a ITN journo who also died in unfortunate circumstances in 2003. See post ‘That’s Entertainment’. Kevin and Terry’s father was a police officer from North Wales who relocated to Derbyshire. He was killed in an unfortunate accident when his sons were young. Kevin died as the result of being abandoned and left to stew by the Top Doctors in May 1998. Midway through the Waterhouse Inquiry.
On the basis of his international reputation, Davies then set up the Alcohol Education Centre – which was, for reasons unexplained, ‘short lived’ – and became the President of the Society for the Study of Addiction as well as a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Addiction.
For more info on the grandiose idiot which was David Davies, as well as his colleagues, see post ‘The Discovery Of A Whole New Galaxy…’
Dafydd set up CAIS in 1977 and at the time stated that CAIS wasn’t about promoting abstinence, it was about normal drinking. I just presumed that was Dafydd’s excuse to carry on boozing – he was widely reputed to be an alcoholic – but obviously Dafydd was taking his cue from the centre of excellence and those with international reputations.
Has done very well
To become head of the ILEA
Without being black or working class or gay’
The Tories of ‘Private Eye’ would have known – if only because at one point the Eye employed Ronnie Waterhouse as a libel reader – that Frances Morrell could indeed have become Head of ILEA without being black or working class or gay, but she wouldn’t have if she’d blown the whistle on Dafydd’s gang.
My favourite Clerihew, as any fule kno, was the classic ‘Sara Keays/Was Hard To Please/When She’d Been Laid/By The Minister For Trade’.
One of John Tilley’s neighbouring Lambeth MPs was Stuart Holland, Labour MP for Vauxhall, 1979-89. Holland succeeded George Strauss, who’s excesses were discussed in my post ‘The Battle For The Labour Party’s Soul’. Stuart Holland studied and taught history and political theory at Oxford University, then became an adviser to Harold Wilson on European affairs and gained the consent of Charles de Gaulle for a second British application to join the European Community. Holland resigned from 10 Downing Street when Wilson did not follow this through, including the proposal for a European Technology Community and for mutual currency support and then gained an economics PhD at Oxford. He subsequently drafted what in the early 1970s became the economic programme of the British Labour Party when researching and teaching at Sussex University.
Holland’s case for state holding companies in energy and industry led to the creation of the British National Oil Corporation and a National Enterprise Board. His proposals for regional development agencies led to the creation of the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Ireland Development Agencies and the Greater London Enterprise Board (now London Enterprise).
Holland was the Windbag’s Shadow Minister for Development Cooperation, 1983-87; drafted the 1985 Global Challenge report for the Socialist International; and led the first Labour Party delegation to China since Attlee in 1952. Holland then served as Shadow Financial Secretary to the Treasury before leaving Westminster to help Jacques Delors shape EU policies for economic and social cohesion.
Well they’ve worked a treat haven’t they.
Holland’s proposals to Delors for US New Deal style bonds to offset the deflationary Maastricht debt and deficit conditions resurfaced during the Eurozone crisis. His case to Delors on the case for a New Bretton Woods Conference was endorsed by Bill Clinton at his first G7 in Naples but not followed through by European Governments.
Holland’s more recent case that the G20 should constitute the governing body of a World Development Organization also has attracted high level interest from the Permanent Representatives to the UN of China, Japan, India, South Africa, Brazil and Mexico.
Holland earlier advice to Andreas Papandreou, backed by Francois Mitterand, prompted the first revision of the Rome Treaty, with commitments to both an internal market and to economic and social cohesion in the 1986 Single European Act.
Holland’s later advice to Portuguese PM Antonio Guterres included a cohesion and convergence remit for the European Investment Bank to invest in health, education, urban regeneration and new technology without this counting on national debt. In 1997 the European Council endorsed this as did employer and trades union representatives on the Economic and Social Committee of the EU in 2012.
In 2010, Stuart Holland co-authored A Modest Proposal with Yanis Varoufakis.
Holland resigned his Vauxhall seat in 1989 in order to take up a post at the European University Institute, Florence. He has held teaching and research posts at the universities of Oxford, Sussex, the European University Institute, the universities of Roskilde and Coimbra and has published widely on economic theory and policy, international trade, economic integration, regional theory and policy, social policies, development economics and global governance. Holland currently is a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and a Senior Scholar of the Institute of Social and European Studies, Köszeg, Hungary.
I presume that the many people who have been on the receiving end of Stuart Holland’s advice had no idea that for ten years between 1979 and 1989, a pan-European trafficking ring which targeted disadvantaged kids and young people in his constituency operated under his nose. Holland will have known about it, because there were constant complaints about the abuse and deaths of kids in care in Lambeth.
Here’s Stuart, looking all important:
Now for John Tilley’s predecessor as Labour MP for Lambeth Central, Marcus Lipton, who held the seat when the en masse abuse in Lambeth and the trade in people with Dafydd’s gang began. Marcus Lipton was the son of Benjamin and Mary Lipton of Sunderland and was educated at Hudson Road Council School and Bede Grammar School in the town. Miranda’s mate Ernest Armstrong who was Labour MP for North West Durham, 1964-87, concealed the gang in the North East with links to Dafydd as long ago as the 1960s, when Ernest was a member of Sunderland Borough Council, by using his friendship with Tony Crosland (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part III’).
Lipton won a scholarship to Merton College, Oxford. He graduated in history, then studied law and was called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn. So he knew Dafydd’s mate and umbrella Sir William Mars-Jones, a leading figure in Gray’s Inn (see previous posts). Lipton first entered politics when he contested the London County Council elections as Liberal Party candidate for the Stepney division of Mile End. In 1934 he was elected to Stepney Borough Council and then served as an alderman of Lambeth Metropolitan Borough Council, 1937-59.
Shortly before the outbreak of WWII, Lipton enlisted in the TA of the Royal Army Pay Corps. He was commissioned as an officer in the Army Educational Corps.
Lipton was elected as the MP for Brixton in 1945 and retained the seat until it was abolished at the Feb 1974 General Election. He was subsequently elected as MP for the successor seat of Lambeth Central, remaining in the Commons until his death.
Lipton used parliamentary privilege to question PM Anthony Eden about the alleged Third Man, Kim Philby. Philby used the press and the law to force Lipton to withdraw his comments, although Philby was subsequently unmasked as a Soviet spy.
So Lipton had a bit of inside knowledge that he had probably been sitting on for a long time; the most likely reason for that is that Lipton had links with the security services.
MI5: I have told you before, you really do need to amend your recruitment criteria to exclude friends of Dafydd’s.
In his last years, Lipton was often critical of the form that the pop and rock music industries had developed by the 1970s. On 2 June 1975, he attacked the “mass hysteria deliberately created by the promoters of pop concerts” following scenes at Bay City Rollers shows. Someone should have told him that the Rollers’ manager Tam Paton was a gangster who used and procured rent boys in Scotland (see post ‘Remember Girls, Never Get Into A Car With A Stranger!’), Lipton would have calmed down then. Later, in response to the Sex Pistols’ insults aimed at the Royal Family, Lipton argued that “if pop music is going to be used to destroy our established institutions, then it must be destroyed first”.
A youth centre in Lambeth is named after Lipton, who looked on as so many lives of youths in Lambeth were ruined. A further service to the UK was provided when in the 1950s, Marcus Lipton gave a tour of Parliament to a 13-year-old constituent, John Major, sparking a political ambition that led Major to becoming Conservative Prime Minister, serving as a Councillor in Lambeth on the way. The year before Major lost the May 1997 General Election to Miranda, Major’s Secretary of State for Wales William Hague orchestrated the huge cover-up which was the Waterhouse Inquiry.
Since leaving my comments after a recent post – which followed my conversation with a man who was a patient in the Gwynfa Unit in Colwyn Bay for children and adolescents, who told me that he had been physically assaulted by Angels in that Unit, but like the rest of us he barely knew that the Waterhouse Inquiry was taking place, let alone gave evidence – I have received an e mail from the person who is referred to as ‘P’ in the Waterhouse Report.
Robert Alexander served as Chairman of the Bar Council, 1985–86. He retired from the Bar in 1989 and served as Chairman of the NatWest bank, 1989–99. He was also a Director of a number of other companies, a member of the Government’s Panel on Sustainable Development and Chairman of the Royal Shakespeare Company, 2000-04. Alexander was President and Chairman of the MCC, an institution favoured by John Major. Alexander was Chancellor of Exeter University, 1998–2005; Chair of JUSTICE, the human rights and law reform group, 1990–2005; and served on the Wakeham Commission into the reform of the Lords. John Wakeham had been Sir Peter Morrison’s boss when Morrison was Minister for Energy.
Robert Alexander was born in Staffordshire, where a long-standing paedophile ring linked to the one in north Wales existed and he died in Lambeth. Alexander died in 2005, so he was very much alive when Tuppence was found guilty of perjury in 2001 and jailed. No-one asked Alexander whether the former Chairman of the Bar Council should have been given a peerage the year after he defended someone who had lied his arse off in the witness box; Alexander did not offer any explanation as to why Lady Mary Archer was never charged with perjury and no-one at all commented on the very convenient death of Monica Coghlan just before she was due to give evidence at Tuppence’s trial. Before she died, Monica had talked of how Tuppence had completely destroyed her life.
Over in Wales, the Baroness of Ely has announced that if she becomes FM, she might renounce her peerage, because she thinks that the people of Wales might not want an FM with a peerage. So why did Citizen Morgan ever accept a peerage in the first place? More importantly, what everyone always wanted to know when I lived in Wales was WHY Citizen Morgan was ever offered one??
