Lord Tim Bell

Thanks to readers for the links re the death of the man who sold Thatcher to the British electorate for so many years, I did notice that he’d died but I was very busy with other things. I wasn’t going to mark Lord Tim’s passing on this blog but as he played a very substantial role in Britain being blighted by Thatch for so long and was responsible for the lies and propaganda behind the construction of Thatch as Superwoman as well as the suppression of much of what I have published on this blog, I decided that Tim at least deserved a mention.

The media obituaries have done an excellent job, reminding us that Tim sneered at the notion of behaving in an ethical manner, was ‘charming’ but completely amoral and also ‘worked for’ delights such as Augusto Pinochet’s friend and Minister (not Thatch, the other one, in Chile).

I did however see one date re Tim’s biography in his obituaries of which I had been previously unaware but I’ve certainly realised the significance of it…

So here’s a brief tribute to Tim Bell in the style of a poem by E.J. Thribb, Private Eye’s teenaged poet, who can always be relied upon to produce a verse when someone famous dies.

Lines On The Death Of Tim Bell

So Farewell then

Tim Bell

You were most famous for Selling Margaret Thatcher

And for the slogan ‘Labour Isn’t Working’

What was less well known was that on 19 November 1977

You were fined £50 after masturbating in your Hampstead window

In full view of female passers-by

Keith’s mum said that you worked for General Pinochet

But I reckon that you were working for Dafydd as well

Because you established Bell Pottinger in

Brenda knighted you in

1991 The same year in which she knighted Peter Morrison

And Miranda gave you a peerage in

E.J. Thribb (17 years)

For readers who haven’t been concentrating re recent posts, here’s a few clues to wake you up:

The 1987 Tory General Election victory. All party Leaders remained silent about Dafydd having Done It Again after Mary Wynch had just made legal history by suing him for wrongful arrest and illegal imprisonment. They all knew about the Cunning Plan to frame and imprison me, to whom Dafydd Had Done It Again, for a serious offence shortly after the election. As Thatch, the Windbag and Dr Death all thought that they would win the election, they were all quite happy to keep quiet.

Days before the General Election, Ollie Brooke won his appeal, had his sentence cut by Lord Chief Justice Geoffrey Lane and was quietly released from prison with the minimum of publicity. The police who had worked so hard to bring Ollie to Court were seething because they knew that he was Mr Big in a pan-European paedophile ring, but their comments were not reported until just a few years ago.

Peter Morrison remained in Gov’t after the 1987 victory and was given responsibility for Oil as an Energy Minister. Jimmy Savile was appointed to the General Management Taskforce at Broadmoor. Michael Havers the Attorney General blocked the prosecutions of a number of VIP child sex offenders.

Thanks Tim!!

I am a writer and a sociologist, originally from Somerset, but I’ve been based in Wales for most of my life. I had my first encounter with a mental health professional in 1984 at the age of 21. My GP described this man to my then partner – who also became a sociologist – as someone who had experienced ‘considerable success’. My meeting with this psychiatrist was a disaster and we attempted to complain about his insensitivity and highly inappropriate behaviour. That was the first time we were threatened and pressurised to withdraw a complaint against a mental health professional. This man is long dead – he was a retired psychiatrist from the North Wales Hospital Denbigh, T. Gwynne Williams, who was working shifts in the student health centre at University College of North Wales (now Bangor University). We discovered years later that this ‘successful man’ was notorious – he had been an enthusiastic lobotomist…

  1. So Farewell Then Norman Lamb…

Sir Norman has announced that he will be standing down at the next General Election. Tributes are being paid to Norman’s political career…

Gosh it takes a lot to dislodge them doesn’t it. Take a look at Sir Norm’s CV; it’s all there, Leicester University, worked for Greville Janner, Norfolk, Norfolk, Norfolk, land of Dafydd’s mate David Ennals… So which bit of the blog finally convinced you to sod off then Norman?

Not that we’ve seen the last of Norman. He’s set up a mental health charidee and wants YOUR money… The website for donations is up and running.

Norman’s Brave Campaigns have included Higher Pay For GPs.

Er, OK Norman, we get the message. I expect that you Care About Children and want Abusers Held To Account as well don’t you.
