The fall-out from the Telford child sexual exploitation case continues. The Conservative MP for Telford Lucy Allan has stated that the problem was enormous and that she had spoken to numerous young women who had been abused. As I have stated previously, Lucy Allan will not have been the only person who knew what was happening. An officer from the West Mercia Police commented in the media that matters have been exaggerated and that ‘only’ 20 or 30 young people were involved and that most of the cases were ‘very old’ cases, dating back to the 1990s. It is possible that the media are exaggerating in pursuit of some good headlines, but if we’re talking historical cases here, it is rather more likely that the scale of the problem was significantly underestimated rather than exaggerated. If the police refuse to document yet alone investigate the victim’s complaints, if young people are diagnosed as psychotic if they talk about what has happened to them and if social workers managing and staffing the ‘services’ caring for the kids involved describe the people raping and trafficking those kids as their boyfriends, it is hardly surprising that the numbers of young people considered to have been abused or trafficked are low.
Whilst I can understand that an over-stretched police force might not prioritise crimes committed 20 years ago, the West Mercia Police need to consider a few salient matters. The crimes might have been committed in the 1990s, but they were not investigated at the time – instead, the victims of the crimes were arrested and prosecuted themselves. Is it surprising that now as adults they feel very angry about what happened? That is bad enough, but the real problem is that the people who colluded with those crimes back then are now occupying posts as Top Doctors, as senior barristers, as judges, as senior managers of NHS Trusts/social service depts/Third sector organisations, as well as senior police officers and a number of them are sitting in Parliament. That is what really matters. We have people who colluded with serious organised crime running the country. Mr West Mercia Police Officer – why do you think that there is now such a problem with human trafficking, with child porn and with big time drug dealing? Why do you think that the infrastructure of the UK simply doesn’t work anymore? Why is there scandal after scandal involving members of Parliament fiddling their expenses, lining their pockets, lying to the House and receiving backhanders for abusing their positions?
For example, let’s look at the background of Lucy Allan, the Telford MP. Allan has been the Tory MP for Telford since 2015. She has a background in accountancy, investment management and employment law. She was a Councillor for Wandsworth Borough Council, 2006-12 and a non-executive Director of Wandsworth NHS Primary Care Trust from 2009. So Allan was working with the trash from St George’s Hospital Medical School and Wandsworth Social Services who spent years colluding with serious organised crime – some of the trash that I witnessed doing that in 1990 are still there. Sadly for Lucy Allan, the trash turned on her.
After Allan made a visit to her GP seeking help with symptoms of depression following a family bereavement in 2010, Wandsworth Borough Council launched a child protection investigation, claiming that Allan’s 10-year-old son was at risk of significant harm. In the wake of the controversy which followed, Allan stood down from the Council, and from her Directorship with the NHS. In 2011, following legal action by Allan, Social Services decided to take no further action.]
Based on her experience, Allan founded Family First Group, a lobby group which campaigns to reduce the number of children in state care, for improvements to the UK child protection system and support for families affected by it. In 2012, Allan fronted a media campaign on child protection injustice and used the media coverage to build a political profile for the Family First Campaign, working with Ministers, children’s charities and families to identify and remedy shortcomings in the child protection system.
In Dec 2015, Allan posted on Facebook an email she said she received from a constituent; the email was edited and ended with the words ‘unless you die’. Allan later acknowledged that she had added those words to the email – leading to accusations of her faking a death threat. Allan later apologised for creating a ‘misleading impression’ and said the controversy was not about her use of social media, but due to ‘activists unhappy they didn’t get the MP they wanted’.
In Dec 2015, Allan was accused of bullying members of staff and leaving a series of voicemail messages to a sick employee allegedly including a threat of dismissal. On 21 Dec 2015, a statement about the allegations was published on Allan’s website but deleted later in the day. The statement apologised for Allan’s voicemail messages, which were publicly released, but stated the bullying allegations were unfounded and was critical of a former employee. Later in Jan 2016, Allan acknowledged sending the voicemails was ‘stupid’ and she regretted shouting at the employee, but denied her actions amounted to bullying.
In April 2016, Allen said on Facebook: ‘Hard-working people in Telford don’t get why privileged trainee doctors, on course to earn £100,000 plus, will hold NHS to ransom and deprive ordinary people of emergency care. I don’t get it either’. Her comments were criticised by junior doctors, with one saying that many of her fellow graduates were still junior doctors who can work ‘horrific shift patterns’ and move hospital every 12 months.
I am completely sympathetic to Lucy Allan’s campaign with regard to the gross misconduct of the child protection services and I am wondering whether the bad publicity that she received from unwise comments on social media could have been because she dared take on the child protection system – MPs who expose real injustice in the welfare system find themselves under attack. Likewise her comments about the NHS – I am very rude about Top Doctors as well and I know how one word against the Top Doctors makes life very difficult indeed. Unfortunately for Allan, she has had a career in the financial services and her husband is a stockbroker – so her income will be far higher than a junior doctor’s and she and her husband will not work as hard as junior doctors do. So it’s not surprising that they put the boot in.
Lucy Allan still has a home in Wandsworth – I would have thought that she’d have got the hell out of there.
Whilst I am glad that Lucy Allan is supporting her constituents I am deeply cynical regarding the historical police investigations into organised sexual exploitation. Not because I think that such conduct is acceptable, but because that exploitation was/is facilitated by the British state anyway. Everyone knew what was happening to witnesses like me – I have 10,000 documents here demonstrating the degree of corruption that was taking place at the highest levels of every ‘service’ to ensure that I and others were harassed, criminalised, sacked from jobs, denied NHS treatment etc. We were the ones placed under surveillance by the security services in the 1980s and 90s and it wasn’t because anyone wanted to help us. Beyond giving the nation a good laugh, there is no point in putting the likes of Dr Dafydd Alun Jones and Lucille Hughes on trial now – their victims are dead and Dafydd et al were allowed to run their sex abuse ring with the assistance of every authority possible. However, they and everyone who helped them should be removed from the positions of responsibility which so many of them are still occupying.
I will reiterate that if anyone does want to do the world a favour and nail these lies of ‘it wasn’t that bad’ and ‘we didn’t know’, get out to the North Wales Hospital Denbigh, excavate the place and date the human remains that are out there. Then abolish the GMC – who did not take action on ANY occasion against Gwynne the lobotomist and Dafydd – and explain why Huw Daniel et al were allowed to clutter up the courts, break the law themselves and sentence Dafydd’s victims instead of Dafydd. Perhaps HM the Queen would like to tell us all why the Git Huw was given the post of Lord Lieutenant of Gwynedd after a lifetime of corruption in court and on the bench. After this tawdry bunch have been named and shamed and the enormity of their crimes admitted, structures which genuinely hold corrupt professional people to account should be put in place.
It might be of interest to the West Mercia Police that Arfon Jones, the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, made a speech to Conwy County Council on Thursday in which he admitted that the North Wales Police can no longer bear the strain of looking after mental health patients in north Wales. It is taking up a huge quantity of police time, the cells are full of people having mental health crises, the psychiatric units in north Wales refuse to admit the patients when the police turn up with them and on one occasion recently the police had to transport a child 77 miles in pursuit of a mental health service for them.
Arfon’s suggestion is that ’24 hour emergency mental health facilities’ should be built in north Wales. Such things used to be called ‘hospitals’. Arfon explained to Conwy County Council that sadly the only place for patients to be taken at the moment were the psychiatric units in north Wales which are not suitable for treating people with mental health problems. Arfon added that the mental health ‘community facilities’ do not operate outside office hours and there are no triage facilities or sanctuaries available.
Could there be a bigger admission of the degree of fuckwittery that has been allowed to develop?
Some of us could see this coming. It was the inevitable result of psychiatric units employing Top Doctors who are both mad and running a sex trafficking ring who simply snap at every patient that they must ‘take responsibility’, that if they want to kill themselves then that’s up to them and diagnose borderline personality disorders in everyone. For at least 15 years now, patients have routinely described the police in north Wales as being far more helpful than the Top Doctors, Angels and social workers. Unless you were unlucky and you ended up on the receiving end of one of the corrupt police officers who doubled up as a paedophiles’ friend, the police were far, far better than the mental health services. Every complaint from a patient about the mental health services was either not investigated or dismissed out of hand and the complainant was subjected to a character assassination by the NHS. Whistleblowers were sacked and members of the public who tried to help patients who were very obviously being abused or neglected were told that they were being ‘manipulated’ by a wicked psychiatric patient and ‘didn’t understand how difficult it was to help them’.
So who is running the NHS in north Wales? The Chair of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is Dr Peter Higson. Higson was a clinical psychologist at the North Wales Hospital. Then Peter Higson was the manager of the North Wales Hospital. Then Peter Higson was the manager of all the mental health services in north Wales. Then Peter Higson was Chief Executive of HIW (Health Inspectorate Wales). Then Peter Higson returned to north Wales to Chair the Betsi Board.
Could the current desperate state of affairs perhaps have something to do with Peter Higson?
Bring those bodies up from the North Wales Hospital, make Peter Higson witness the dig and ask him to explain why there were buried there.
The Vice-Chair of the Betsi is Margaret Hanson. Margaret Hanson was previously a children’s and family social worker in Cheshire, whilst the Cheshire and north Wales paedophile ring facilitated by Dafydd, Lucille, Higson and others was in business. Margaret’s husband David is the Labour MP for Delyn and Blair’s former PPS (see post ‘The Most Dangerous Man In The World – Part II’). Margaret and David were both Councillors in Cheshire whilst the paedophile gang operated under their noses.
Grace Lewis-Parry is the Board Secretary. Grace is an Angel who joined the Gwynedd Family Health Services Authority in 1993 and the North Wales Health Authority in 1996 as Assistant Director of Patient Care. In Aug 2001 Grace took up the position of General Manager to the Gwynedd Local Health Group based in Caernarfon and was then appointed as Chief Executive to the new Local Health Board for Gwynedd.
Could the presence of Grace in the north Wales NHS possibly be as disastrous as the presence of Peter Higson?
The Daily Post quotes Lesley Singleton the ‘Director of partnerships for mental health’ at the Betsi as saying that ‘we have made improving the support available to people in an acute mental health crisis our first priority as we begin implementing our integrated mental health strategy Together For Mental Health’.
I met Lesley Singleton about two years ago – to discuss my appalling experiences with the mental health services. Lesley was pleasant and friendly and had a greater understanding of mental health policy than most of the NHS managers in north Wales. However whenever I detailed an occasion on which I had been threatened, assaulted or defamed by mental health staff Lesley responded by saying ‘mmmmm’. Then I explained that Dafydd had told another Top Doctor that I was ‘attractive and seductive’. Lesley kept repeating ‘IF that is true’ – I explained that it most definitely was true, it was documented upon my medical notes. I offered to show Lesley the relevant document. She declined. Lesley then told me that the whole problem with the mental health services was that the Angels weren’t empowered. I told Lesley that the Angels were sufficiently empowered to assault patients and lie about them in Court in order to secure convictions against people who had complained about Dafydd et al. Lesley told me that perhaps it was time for us to talk about the ‘service’ generally rather than my own experiences.
Lesley ended our meeting by asking me if I’d like to volunteer with Dafydd’s new charity CANIAD – which had just been given the contract for ‘service user involvement’ by the Betsi (see post ‘Introducing Caniad!’). I declined and started this blog.
CANIAD received £1.5 million for providing ‘service user involvement’ for the Betsi (see post ‘The Story Behind £1.5 Million’).
Well Lesley, how’s the strategy going then?? The suicide rate continues ever upwards and the police now can no longer cope. No-one will work for your ‘service’ and 24 hour sanctuaries are being demanded by the police because the psychiatric units are so bloody dangerous and unhelpful.
I did tell Lesley that nothing will improve until staff who abuse patients are prosecuted and dismissed along with the managers….
Lesley is on secondment from an NHS Trust in Cheshire!
The biggest irony is that the Police and Crime Commissioner himself – Arfon Jones – was an officer with the North Wales Police whilst the force refused to co-operate with investigations into the paedophile ring and then denied that there was a paedophile ring. As a constable Arfon chauffeured a senior officer, Gordon Anglesea, to the venues where Anglesea abused children in care. In 1994 Anglesea was awarded nearly £400k damages for libel after he was named in the media as someone who had abused children in care (see posts ‘Y Gwir Yn Yr Erbyn Y Byd’ and ‘Y Gwir Yn Erbyn Y Byd – A Few Additional Comments’). In 2016 Anglesea was imprisoned for historical sex offences against children in care in north Wales. After he died in prison, his wife Sandra received a police pension, despite Anglesea being a convicted sex offender – because of an ‘oversight’ by Arfon, the Police and Crime Commissioner…
Earlier in the week a news report stated that the Betsi Board were threatening to refuse to release the Independent Report into the Tawel Fan scandal by Donna Ockenden because it ‘lacked credibility’. Donna Ockenden is an independent consultant who was called in to report on Tawel Fan – Donna has a background in the NHS. She has never been associated with the sort of scandals that Higson, Hanson or Grace have.
Arfon’s speech about the police no longer being able to cope with the enormity of the mental health services failures in north Wales is not the only healthcare story in the Daily Post today. Their leading story is an account of the death of a 95 year old lady at the Bryn Marl care home in Llandudno Junction after she fell out of a hoist whilst being lifted out of her bed. The sling of the hoist being used was the wrong size and had been fitted incorrectly. Furthermore the case assistants had not received the appropriate training. The coroner at the inquest in Ruthin, John Gittins, decided not to issue a report in order to prevent further deaths, in view of the ‘steps taken’ by Bryn Marl after the old lady’s death. It must have made quite a difference for Mr Gittins to be complacent in the aftermath of the death of a resident in a care home – his usual role is to be complacent in the aftermath of the death of a mental health patient. I’m sure that Mr Gittins’s complacency will be utilised again within a couple of weeks or so.
The Post is also carrying an advert for North East Wales MIND – they’re beginning a Well-Being Drop In service for people in the Wrexham area. That’s the branch of MIND which was at the centre of the whistleblower Karen Hughes’s concerns (see post ‘A Whistleblower From MIND Writes…’). After I published Karen’s concerns on this blog, Karen was harassed, Karen’s e mail account and my blog was hacked and then Karen and I received hundreds of e mails – one threatening Karen’s husband and children – from the partner of the daughter of a manager of North East Wales MIND….No action was taken by either MIND Cymru or national MIND.
The Daily Post is also advertising a Community Wellbeing Day. Who will be attending this day? Among others, representatives from the Betsi Board, the Conwy Wellbeing Board and the Community Health Council. The North Wales Police will also be in attendance – which is just as well because if anybody is taken ill, it’ll be the police who will have to look after them…
The Post also reports that Ian Lucas, the Labour MP for Wrexham, has ‘slammed’ the North Wales Police for refusing to provide him with a private briefing regarding why a violent criminal who was out on licence was not recalled to prison before he went on to murder a disabled pensioner. The police are no doubt far too busy doing the job of the NHS to turn their attention to murderers.
Meanwhile in England, Theresa May has promised lots of lovely lolly for the NHS! Theresa is quoted as saying that the NHS has provided her with ‘compassionate care’ for her diabetes. Theresa – that’s because you are a Prime Minister who, whilst you were a Councillor in Merton, 1986-94, obligingly ignored the organised crime – which included the facilitating of a sex trafficking ring – taking place at your local hospital, St George’s Hospital Medical School. Then when you were Home Secretary and you were given responsibility for re-opening the investigation into the North Wales Child Abuse Scandal, you appointed Lady Justice Julia Macur to review the Waterhouse Inquiry and you set up the IICSA. The Macur Review was so heavily redacted that it was meaningless – although Julia did stress that she could assure us all that Waterhouse was no cover-up and that there was No Paedophile Ring in north Wales. The IICSA has progressively fallen apart after every person appointed as Chair was demonstrated to be a paedophiles’ friend. Except for Judge Lowell Goddard, who walked out and returned to New Zealand after declaring that the Home Office were trying to rig the Inquiry.
Had Theresa blown the whistle on what was happening at St George’s she would not be receiving ‘compassionate care’ from the NHS. She would be refused treatment for all conditions no matter how serious and if her lawyers made representation regarding her legal entitlement to NHS treatment, she would simply be sent from pillar to post and be met with aggression and hostility – and still no treatment. That’s when she wasn’t being arrested and fitted up by NHS staff. Theresa would eventually conclude that she was better off without the Top Doctors. Presumably Theresa is giving them a few more million to ensure that she continues to receive ‘compassionate care’. After all, Theresa knows what happened to those who complained about the paedophile ring that never existed in north Wales.
CRASH! Whoops, another traffic accident…
Perhaps I’m just old-fashioned as Peter Cook who have said, but when I was threatened by a Top Doctor because I had refused to join the sex trafficking ring that he and his mates were running, I decided that I was going to stand up to these people rather than support their demands for more money…
No doubt we will soon be seeing another shot of Theresa’s smug, grinning face reminding everyone that Ken Clarke called her a ‘bloody difficult woman’. Bloody difficult? She’s rolling over to have her tummy tickled by the Top Doctors whilst she orders Phil Hammond to hand over a blank cheque. The Torygraph has reported that there will have to be a tax rise to foot the bill for the Top Doctors and that ‘older people’ will have to bear the brunt. ‘Older people’ are going to love you Theresa – they can’t get appointments with GPs, their operations are being cancelled and they are being blamed for the Top Doctors’ own failures on the grounds that they are all too fat/demented/boozing too much/costing far too much to keep alive and now they’re going to be stung in order than the Top Docs and senior managers can continue to receive £100k pa or in some cases a great deal more.
Max Pemberton aka ‘Dr Max The Mind Doctor’ who has a regular column in the Mail Online in which he tends to reiterate the notion of ‘we doctors know best’ but simultaneously demands that patients should stop bothering doctors and asking for their advice, has written a piece about how a visit to a hairdresser can do wonders for depressed patients, as can things like gardening. Well yes it can – but only if one actually enjoys going to the hairdressers or gardening.
I note that there is a creeping admission among the Top Doctors that the ways in which they have ‘helped’ people with mental health problems have not in fact proved to be that helpful. In recent years there has been the sense that the Top Docs have been scrabbling around finding therapeutic value in just about anything – choirs, reading, gardening, crafts, poetry and now having your hair done. Such things were of course the staples of the old psychiatric hospitals – as well as being lobotomised/shocked/drugged, there was the occupational therapist who encouraged the weaving of raffia baskets, the hairdresser who turned up on the ward to do the ladies’ hair and even Broadmoor had a ‘hospital choir’, along with Jimmy Savile. In fact Tamsin Speight – a particularly hopeless Angel from Gwynedd – might be interested to know that she was nicknamed ‘Mrs Raffia Baskets’ by one of her patients on the grounds that she was so useless that he felt he might as well have been sitting in one of Dafydd’s wards in Denbigh weaving the said baskets.
Tamsin can now be found with Keith Fearns – the highly abusive former leader of the highly abusive Arfon Community Mental Health Team – and other assorted psychopaths on the website of the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies), constituting the North West Wales branch, which for many years now has been a cover for Fearns and the paedophiles’ friends. On the 18 May 2018, the paedophiles’ friends of the North West Wales Branch of the BABCP are attending a seminar on ‘A Brief Introduction to Compassion Focused Therapy for Long Term Health Conditions’, presented by Dr Mary Welford.
Readers might be wondering what the Top Doctors of north Wales do when they need mental healthcare themselves – they go outside of the region. They also receive help from the sick doctors service in north Wales which is run by the very same Top Doctors who brutalise and neglect their own patients. One of those involved is the dreadful Dr Devakumar, former Top Doctor of the Hergest Unit, who was one of those prepared to lie his arse off in an attempt to have me banged up in a secure unit.
Devakumar loathed the Arfon Community Mental Health Team and at his retirement do Devakumar made a speech which included the words ‘I hate College Road’ (the Arfon Team’s HQ was at College Road in Bangor and they were colloquially referred to as ‘College Road’) and followed this up with an explanation of how bloody glad he would be not to have to even see them anymore. A lot of other mental health staff greatly appreciated these comments because they loathed Fearns and co as well and Devakumar did have a cult following as a result of his refusal to work with the Arfon Team. Sadly he abused patients himself but in a different way. One of the peaks of Devakumar’s career was threatening to punch a psychotic patient in a ward round.
Of course, people working in other ‘people professions’ in north Wales who are not Top Doctors might be in need of support as well. There’s a service for them and it isn’t the one provided by Mrs Raffia Baskets and her colleagues. No, the distressed middle classes of north Wales are able to use – free of charge – a counselling service called Medra.
Medra’s website explains that ‘Medra offers a bilingual, confidential, telephone and one-to-one counselling service to employees in both the public and private sector. Our professionally trained and experienced practitioners cover a wide geographical area, helping to ensure that individuals are seen in a location of their choice with counselling appropriate to their needs. Counselling can help with issues such as: Stress and Anxiety; Anger; Phobias; Panic Attacks; Workplace Bullying; Difficulties or Breakdown in Relationships; Abuse; Bereavement. All our counsellors abide by the codes of practice of professional bodies such as the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). Based in Menai Bridge, Anglesey, North Wales, Medra has secured contracts with small, medium and large companies in England and Wales, including one Wales-based company awarded the ‘Sunday Times Top 100 Companies To Work For’ award in 2010. Medra has been awarded the ‘Best Depression & Anxiety Counselling Service’ by 2017 Business Innovator Awards and ‘Best Workplace Counselling Service – North Wales’ by Global SME Awards 2017′.
One can only access Medra if one is employed. So if you are too ill to work you can piss off, Medra doesn’t want to know. You can either wait for months and have four – or if you really pull out all the stops six – appointments with Mrs Raffia Baskets or one of her dysfunctional colleagues or the North Wales Police will look after you in the cells.
‘Medra – Here For Those Who Are Not In Need.’
Dr Max The Mind Doctor reminded the readers of the Mail Online that the forward thinking GP Sam Everington who works with the dispossessed in the East End promoted things like gardening for his depressed patients years ago. I remember Sam Everington when he was a Nice Young Doctor but Dangerously Radical. Sam Everington led the BMA’s youth wing and put up an excellent fight against the serious exploitation of junior doctors in the 1980s. Sam and BMA Youth gained a big following as a result – junior doctors were being treated dreadfully. Some crumbled as a result, but sadly there was a contingent who took the view that ‘after what I’ve been through I am going to be the most selfish, greedy, obnoxious bastard of a consultant who has ever stalked the earth’.
Sam also pursued a few other radical causes – but not too radical. Because if he had, his career would have come to an end. Sam is now Sir Sam!
Sir Sam is a GP in the East End and Chair of NHS Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group. Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group was awarded Clinical Commissioning Group of the year by HSJ (Health Service Journal) in Nov 2014. Sam is a non-executive Director of Community Health Partnerships. He is part of the Bromley by Bow Centre GP partnership, which featured in my post ‘Apocalypse Now’ – it is associated with the New Labouresque tosser Lord Andrew Mawson. Sam was appointed as a Trustee of the King’s Fund in 2014.
So after those years of not quite so dangerous living, Sam is now at the heart of the medical establishment. In 1989 Sam became, and continues to be, a council member of the BMA, holding the role of Deputy Chair, 2004-07. He was a member of the GMC, 2009-12.
Sam is a barrister – he qualified in 1976 – and then qualified as a Top Doctor from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1984.
In 1993, research into racial discrimination in recruitment of medical professionals led Everington and Professor Aneez Esmail to be arrested and charged with making fraudulent job applications. For research purposes they had applied for vacancies in the name of people with traditional Anglo-Saxon names and Asian names. Each applicant had similar experience and qualifications for the roles. They found that the applications with Anglo-Saxon names were twice as likely to be shortlisted than those with Asian names. Everington and his colleague were cleared of the charges. The research was published in the BMJ. The GMC said that the behaviour was unbecoming of the medical profession – but took no action against Sam and Aneez. The results of the research provided the first documented evidence of discrimination in the NHS. In 1994 Everington and Professor Esmail received an award from the Campaign for Freedom of Information for their work.
In 2007/8 Sir Sam was appointed as an adviser to the Health Minister (Primary Care Access) under the New Labour Gov’t – he had already been a member of the Department of Health’s Art and Health Working party under Blair’s Gov’t in 2006. Sam initially backed Tory Health Secretary Andrew Lansley’s health reforms but later reversed his stance. He says that while clinical commissioning is rightly well supported, the huge re-organisation under the Health and Social Care Act was unnecessary.
So did Sir Sam and his campaigning with BMA Youth manage to rock medicine? Not really. Junior doctors are now so unhappy that many of them are emigrating and an increasing number are leaving medicine altogether to pursue other careers. Racism in medicine is still entrenched – the supporters of Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba who has recently been struck off maintain that she was a victim of racism in the GMC as well as the scapegoat of a consultant who failed to support her at work.
Sam was a council member of the BMA whilst Tony Francis (Dr X) was CC’ing his letters to the BMA describing how he was going to frame me on the basis of his complaints about offences which he and his lawyers knew that I had not committed. Sam was a council member whilst the dirty doings described in my posts ‘Oh Lordy, It’s CR UK’, ‘Reports of Death Were Greatly Exaggerated’ and ‘Apocalypse Now’ were happening – dealings in which Prof Vincent Marks was involved. Vincent’s brother John Marks was at the time Chairman of the BMA. Like Sam, John Marks was a barrister as well as a Top Doctor. They knew when the law was being broken.
Sam knew about something else that Tony Francis was involved in as well. Sam has been a GP in Tower Hamlets since 1989. Tower Hamlets was one of the inner London boroughs which sent children in their care to children’s homes in north Wales, where they were abused by the gang that Francis and Dafydd et al were facilitating (see post ‘Tower Hamlets, Paul Boateng and Tessa Jowell’). Sam will not have been able to escape knowing what was going on. Like Mary Taylor-Thomson and her colleagues at the Mildmay Hospital in the East End, Sam will also have known that many of those young men dying of AIDS in the Mildmay in the late 1980s/early 90s were rent boys who had been abused and trafficked into sex work whilst they were in care – often in north Wales (see post ‘Apocalypse Now’).
No wonder Sam is now Sir Sam. He’ll be in the queue for a peerage…
Someone whom Sir Sam will know from his many years of ignoring the worst things that are happening to people in Tower Hamlets is Latfur Rahman, a former solicitor who was the first directly elected Mayor of Tower Hamlets. Elected to this office in 2010 as an Independent, Rahman was previously the Labour leader of Tower Hamlets London Borough Council, 2008-10. He was re-elected at the 2014 mayoral election, but the result of this election was declared null and void in April 2015 when the Election Court officially reported Rahman to be ‘personally guilty’ of ‘corrupt or illegal practices, or both’ (electoral fraud) under the Representation of the People Act 1983. He was removed from his office with immediate effect and was also personally debarred from standing for elected office until 2021.
Latfur and his rotten borough have attracted the attention of ‘Private Eye’ for many years – Latfur has also featured on Panorama and Channel 4’s ‘Dispatches’. Latfur grew up in Tower Hamlets and was first elected to the Council in 2002. He will almost certainly have known something about those kids in the care of the Borough Council who were sent to north Wales.
Another Private Eye regular is the Mayor of Newham, a Borough close to Tower Hamlets – Sir Robin Wales. Sir Robin has also been in the news. Some sections of the right wing press are furious because Newham Labour Party have deselected Sir Robin as a mayoral candidate and replaced him with a candidate backed by Momentum. Accusations are flying that this is the dreadful Corbyn up to no good again.
I am currently awaiting all the paedophiles’ friends in the Commons who bellowed ‘shame’ at Jeremy a few days ago – after he dared mention that London is full of Russian oligarchs who have purchased the most expensive properties in the capital with their ill-gotten gains – to apologise to him, now that it has been revealed that there have been 13 deaths of Russians living in the UK in the last few years. Buzzfeed have investigated the circumstances of the deaths and they maintain that the police have simply dismissed them all as ‘suicides’ or ‘not suspicious’ even when they obviously weren’t. One of the deaths was caused by an attack with two knives and another involved the ingestion of a rare poison.
As I’m not in the Commons and I can’t be shouted down by a bunch of ignoramuses and hypocrites, I’ll take this opportunity to remind the paedophiles’ friends in the House of just how much toadying to very rich dodgy Russians there has been for many years on the part of UK politicians. In 2008 George Osborne and Mandy joined the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska on his yacht – after which Mandy was alleged to have done Oleg’s business some very big favours. Osborne later stated that he ‘regretted’ joining Mandy and Oleg on the yacht, but that it ‘had prepared him for office’.
So that’s why George was so friendly to rich crooks when he was Chancellor!
To return to Sir Robin Wales. It is probably a good thing that he has been overthrown by Momentum.
Sir Robin has served as the directly elected mayor – the first in London – of the London Borough of Newham since 2002. Prior to taking up that newly created role, he was leader of Newham Council since 1995, having been a Councillor, 1982-86 and 1992-02.
Children in the care of Newham were sent to north Wales – which rather places Sir Robin at the scene of the crime.
During his mayoralty Sir Robin has said that improving the economic prosperity of Newham’s residents has been a priority. So that’s why that borough is still so poor after all those years with Sir Robin as the mover and shaker down there.
Robin grew up in Kilmarnock and went to Glasgow University. He joined the Labour Party in 1970, aged 15. He served as Chairman of Glasgow University Labour Club, 1975–76. He Chaired Scottish Labour Students (SOLS), 1976–77. SOLS members were renowned for their wresting back control of the National Organisation of Labour Students (NOLS) from Militant in 1975. In 1978 Wales moved to the London Borough of Newham and in 1982 was elected to the council…
Robin received a knighthood in Lilibet’s birthday honours in 2000, for his services to local gov’t. Just after the Waterhouse Report had been published – which failed to investigate the possibility of connections between the abuse of children in north Wales and people in other areas of the UK. Such as Newham.
I really must shake Momentum by the hand.
From 2000-06 Robin served as Chairman of the Association of London Government (known as London Councils since 2006). London Councils is a think-tank and lobbying organisation which serves the interests of the 32 London borough councils, plus the City of London Corporation. Robin was part of the London 2012 Board which was involved in the Olympic and Paralympic Games bid for London. Robin has held a position on the Boards of both the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) and the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC), which was renamed the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) in 2012. He also Chairs the Six Host Boroughs group which represents the interests of those boroughs most affected by the 2012 Games.
Tessa Jowell was in charge of London’s successful bid to host the 2012 Olympics. She came up with the idea in 2002, during her time as Culture Secretary. In 2004, she launched the bid and, when the Games were awarded to London, Blair appointed her Olympics Minister – she held full ministerial responsibility for the bid from 2006. Jowell retained her position as Olympics Minister throughout Labour’s time in office.
Following the general election of May 2010, at which Labour lost power, Tessa became Shadow Olympics Minister. She remained on the 2012 Olympics Organising Committee, with Lord Coe of Corruption and Cheating in Sport and Jeremy Hunt. Tessa was appointed Deputy Mayor of the Olympics Village.
Tessa has been responsible for concealing the organised abuse of children and psych patients in many capacities – as a Councillor in Camden, as a child care officer for Lambeth Borough Council, as a psychiatric social worker for the Maudsley, as Deputy Director of MIND, as an MP and Minister in Blair’s Gov’t. Tessa’s got nearly as much previous as Dafydd himself (see post ‘The London Connection’).
The Artistic Director for the 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony in London was Danny Boyle. Danny Boyle studied English and Drama at UCNW (now known as Bangor University). Danny was at Bangor in the mid-70s, although he left without his degree. Danny was at UCNW whilst the college was run by Dafydd and the paedophiles’ friends – presumably he will have discovered many of the things that I did when I was a student.
Part of Danny’s Olympics Opening Ceremony involved scenes of jolly Angels jumping up on down on beds with children to ‘celebrate the NHS’. A national source of pride!
One of the many films directed by Danny was ‘Shallow Grave’.
Whilst he was at Bangor, Danny’s girlfriend was fellow drama student Frances Barber. Who will also have noticed a few rather odd things going on around her. Frances once played the role of Nurse Rached in a production of ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest’ and also starred in the film of the Agatha Christie story ‘A Murder Is Announced’.
There was more than one murder.
Although to be fair to Frances, she also starred in the film of ‘Midsomer Murders’.
Bangor no longer has a Drama Dept, it was shut down in the mid-1980s after the UGC imposed quite severe cuts on UCNW. Sir Peter Swinnerton-Dyer, the Chairman of the UGC and Thatcher’s henchman, planned to close UCNW. He was persuaded otherwise by the PVC of UCNW Alwyn Roberts. Everybody was most grateful to Alwyn Roberts and were wowed at him standing up to an obnoxious old tyrant like Swinnerton-Dyer. But then Alwyn Roberts was the PVC of an institution choc full of people facilitating the sex trafficking ring which was supplying under-aged kids to Westminster and Whitehall folk in Dolphin Square and of course to Thatcher’s friend and the Tory MP for Chester Sir Peter Morrison. No doubt Roberts reminded Swinnerton-Dyer of that.
Another UCNW graduate who achieved fame as a luvvy was John Sessions, who did an MA in English Lit at Bangor in the mid-70s. John Sessions at one point based a performance on his days at UNCW – ‘Look Back In Bangor’. Sessions became very high profile in the early 1990s when he was a regular on ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’, but some years later he suffered clinical depression and traumas after he came out as gay and his career suffered badly.
Sir Robin Wales believes that local employment opportunities are a critical success factor of regeneration projects. He has named Canary Wharf and the Olympic Delivery Authority’s construction of the Olympic Park as two examples where local people have benefitted less than hoped from the job opportunities created. I was gobsmacked to notice that as well Robin – when I saw Canary Wharf going up, I thought to myself ‘well that’ll provide employment opportunities for the whole of the East End’.
Robin was involved in a bitter battle with the Friends of Queen’s Market, which represented market traders. The traders and residents were objecting to plans to demolish the market and replace it with a new market-hall with 164 stalls and 6,374 sq metres of shop units, 350 homes, a civic building and a library. In 2009, Mayor of London Boris over-ruled Robin’s decision to build the 31-storey tower.
Robin attracted controversy in 2010 by being awarded a 4% pay rise, taking his salary to £80,029, at a time when the Gov’t called for public-sector wage restraints, job losses and pay freezes at Newham Council. Robin stated that he would be giving his pay rise to charity. However, his pay has increased 40% from £58,500 since 2002. Newham Council defended this pay increase, stating that it reflected the responsibilities of his position.
Robin’s Council has come under heavy criticism for a £111m project to relocate council offices in a single Newham Dockside block, including £18.7m of design and refurbishment costs.
Following the 2012 Olympics, Sir Robin was criticised for proposing to invest £40m of the borough’s money in a stake in the Olympic Stadium.
In 2014, Sir Robin and the Council were in dispute with the Focus E15 Mothers group, which complained about the lack of social housing within the borough. Robin later apologised to the Focus E15 families about the dispute.
Ahead of the 2018 mayoral election, which could have seen Robin secure a fifth term as Mayor, ‘Private Eye’ reported that Labour Party members from 20 wards in Newham had voted in Nov 2016 on whether any Labour candidate other than Robin should be allowed to stand in the election. A total of 424 members voted to allow other candidates to stand against Wales, while 351 voted for Robin being the only candidate allowed to stand. Following this vote, 17 Labour party affiliates such as trade union branches were allowed a vote in the question, with one affiliate’s vote counting as equal to all of the members of one ward. Once the party affiliates’ votes were added, the result was turned in favour of Robin being the only Labour candidate permitted to stand in the 2018 election. It was reported that some members were disgruntled at this process: for example, one affiliate was a trade union with one member who is a paid advisor to Wales, and that person’s vote counted as equal to dozens of members of one ward.
Whoever would have guessed that the building of Canary Wharf was waived through by those who kept silent about Dafydd’s sex trafficking ring?
Come on then, bring the bodies up from the grounds of the North Wales Hospital – identify who’s buried out there and whether they are locals or those from places like the East End who were sent up to children’s homes in north Wales and then disappeared.
