Update on Dr Dafydd Alun Jones

After writing my previous post on Dr Dafydd Alun Jones, I thought that it was about time that I found out whether he is still on the Medical Register – so I’ve just checked. Yes he’s there – under his real name of David Alun Jones (but not many people seem to know that about him). I note that he is classified as being ‘subject to revalidation’ – well I’m sure that won’t be a problem, he’s had a career dogged by controversy and complaint, mired in scandal, there clearly won’t be an issue. Furthermore David Alun Jones can also be found listed on the ‘find a doctor’ facility on the Independent Doctor’s Federation website – they advertise themselves as ‘Promoting Excellence in the Independent Medical Sector’…

So if any readers want to make an appointment to experience David’s/Dafydd’s excellence for themselves, just log on to the Independent Doctor’s Federation website…

I note that the Independent Doctor’s Federation website is now helpfully providing a link to enable readers to view a mugshot of David/Dafydd http://www.idf.uk.net/member-profiles/dr-david-alun-jones.aspx

I am a writer and a sociologist, originally from Somerset, but I’ve been based in Wales for most of my life. I had my first encounter with a mental health professional in 1984 at the age of 21. My GP described this man to my then partner – who also became a sociologist – as someone who had experienced ‘considerable success’. My meeting with this psychiatrist was a disaster and we attempted to complain about his insensitivity and highly inappropriate behaviour. That was the first time we were threatened and pressurised to withdraw a complaint against a mental health professional. This man is long dead – he was a retired psychiatrist from the North Wales Hospital Denbigh, T. Gwynne Williams, who was working shifts in the student health centre at University College of North Wales (now Bangor University). We discovered years later that this ‘successful man’ was notorious – he had been an enthusiastic lobotomist…

    1. Thanks for this, it’s good to have a first hand update re Dafydd!

It’s bloody incredible isn’t it – not just the slurry that has surrounded him for decades, but he must be getting on for nearly 90 now. He looked wrecked when he was 60, Christ knows what state he’s in now. So he’s still Chairing CAIS as well – the CAIS that has received millions for ‘substance abuse services’ since 1995, as the drugs problem and associated ill health and deaths have rocketed!

I note that the glorious Trustees of CAIS have all removed their photos from the website so we can’t marvel at Lucille’s ill-advised wig any longer. When they still had the photos up there they’d tried to package Dafydd as a sweet old granddad – they’d given him a bath and put him in a bow tie of all things, gave him a walking stick and had him holding elderly hands with someone else. Utterly ruthless, manipulative people.
